- 1:39Okay.
- 1:43And that 970 number, that's what I
- 1:45called you on. It's that's the number
- 1:47for you. Okay.
- 1:48And what's your home address?
- 1:50229

- 2:04805-20
- 2:07And what's your date of birth?
- 2:086-4-81
- 2:12Okay.
- 2:14All right, so I understand that you are
- 2:16pretty good friends with his Is it
- 2:18Shannan or Shanan?
- 2:19It's Shannan and you pronounce it like
- 2:21Shannon again. So everybody calls her
- 2:23everything else but that, but it's
- 2:24Shannan. Took me like 2 years to get it
- 2:26down.
- 2:26Okay, I've heard Shannon, I've heard
- 2:27this, that and the other. So Shannan,
- 2:29okay.
- 2:30So I understand you and Shannan are
- 2:31pretty friends. Is that
- 2:33I mean, yeah.
- 2:33Correct.
- 2:34out a lot. We have kids the same age.
- 2:36Okay.
- 2:36I met her because her mom started
- 2:38working for me when I was running
- 2:40a whole bunch of salons and decided to
- 2:42change professions and now I'm here, but
- 2:44Okay.
- 2:44that's not important.
- 2:45All right. So how long have you known
- 2:46How long have you known Shannan?
- 2:47Um 3 to 4 years I would say.
- 2:50It was when Bella was little and then
- 2:52she was pregnant with CC and CC just
- 2:54turned 3.
- 2:55Okay.
- 2:56So So Bella is the older one, right?
- 2:59Yeah, Bella's 4.
- 3:00Bella's 4.
- 3:01And then is it Celeste? Okay.
- 3:03and she goes by CC, yeah.
- 3:05Or they call her CC.
- 3:07She's 3.
- 3:08Yeah, she just turned 3 in July.
- 3:10Okay.
- 3:12Okay.
- 3:13And okay, let's go. You guys have kids
- 3:16that are close in age.
- 3:17Yeah, my youngest is Madison. She's 2
- 3:20and will be 3 in October. So they
- 3:22We go to their house or they always ask,
- 3:24"When's Madison?" So you know, if I go
- 3:25by myself they're there, so
- 3:28So since you've known Shannan for about
- 3:303 to 4 years, um when did you meet
- 3:32Chris?
- 3:33Um the same time I met Shannan. I
- 3:35actually got invited by her mom, Sandy,
- 3:37over for a for CC's first birthday
- 3:39party.
- 3:40Okay.
- 3:40Um I mean, I like talked to her in
- 3:42passing, but to actually like say I got
- 3:44to know her and stuff like that. I met
- 3:46her before, but not like where we
- 3:48developed a friendship, so
- 3:50Um CC's first birthday party around
- 3:52then. I went over and I met the whole
- 3:54family and spent some time with them.
- 3:55So, ever since then, because we have the
- 3:57same kids in age, we
- 3:59that and she got me doing Thrive with
- 4:02her, so.
- 4:02Okay. What is Thrive? I've heard about
- 4:04that.
- 4:05So, it's
- 4:06it's these patches that we wear and it's
- 4:08um,
- 4:09a nutritional supplement.
- 4:11Okay.
- 4:11So, it's not just patches, but that's
- 4:14the gist of it.
- 4:15Okay.
- 4:15Unless you want more information.
- 4:17I just heard of it, I didn't know what
- 4:19it was.
- 4:20Yeah, it's a nutritional supplement. It
- 4:21just time releases vitamins and minerals
- 4:23into your body all day long, so it gives
- 4:25you like mental clarity and
- 4:26Okay.
- 4:26um, energy.
- 4:28All right.
- 4:29You actually stop craving stuff that you
- 4:31normally would want, like ice cream. I
- 4:32don't crave ice cream anymore. I drink
- 4:34you soda, I don't drink coffee.
- 4:35No.
- 4:36All right.
- 4:36Yeah.
- 4:38Okay.
- 4:39Um,
- 4:40so,
- 4:41were you were you and
- 4:43Arizona.
- 4:44Shanna, Shannan.
- 4:45Shannan.
- 4:47Um, so now you got me wanting to say
- 4:48Shannan again.
- 4:49Right.
- 4:50Um,
- 4:51so were you guys together within the
- 4:52Thrive?
- 4:53Mhm.
- 4:54Part of this is is that like a
- 4:56uh,
- 4:56It's a home-based business. It's kind of
- 4:58like Mary Kay or it's a direct sales
- 4:59thing. So, she actually, when I went to
- 5:02Cece's birthday party 2 years ago, gave
- 5:03me a sample and then
- 5:05I went over to her house and we had play
- 5:07dates and whatnot for a year. We'd go to
- 5:09lunch or here or there like girlfriends
- 5:11do and then a year ago I finally decided
- 5:14to try it after the sample she gave me
- 5:16sitting there and I was like, okay, I
- 5:17can text her and I was like, I'm going
- 5:19to try it and she said, okay. And then
- 5:20like by day two I went over and signed
- 5:22up to be a promoter cuz I
- 5:24I actually felt what it was doing for
- 5:25me. So, I was like, I like she's like,
- 5:27you can just be a customer and I'm like,
- 5:29no, I'm going to talk about it. I want
- 5:30to make money out of it, so.
- 5:32Okay.
- 5:32Yeah.
- 5:32So, you guys wrapped up wrapped up in
- 5:34the Thrive thing together?
- 5:35Yes. We left together we flew out
- 5:37together and we flew back together.
- 5:38Okay. So, you guys was there a like a
- 5:40Thrive convention this last weekend?
- 5:42a training in Arizona that some of the
- 5:45top leaders of the company were putting
- 5:47on.
- 5:47Okay.
- 5:48Where was it in Arizona?
- 5:49Scottsdale.
- 5:50At the Embassy Suites.
- 5:52Okay.
- 6:00And so you guys went there When did you
- 6:03guys go?
- 6:03Um we I left here at 4:00 on Thur- Well,
- 6:07Friday morning.
- 6:08So, that was Thursday night. Friday
- 6:10morning, and I drove from here to her
- 6:11house and picked her up, and then we
- 6:13drove to the airport.
- 6:14Okay. Do you remember what time you
- 6:15picked
- 6:16It was around 4:30.
- 6:17In the morning?
- 6:18Mhm.
- 6:18Okay.
- 6:19Do you guys have a really early flight,
- 6:20I assume?
- 6:21Yeah, we flew out at
- 6:227:00.
- 6:23Do you know
- 6:24I can pull it up. It was Southwest.
- 6:26Southwest?
- 6:26Yeah, I'm sure you have the boarding
- 6:27passes anyway.
- 6:29They're on my phone.
- 6:32And you flew from here to you
- 6:33Scottsdale?
- 6:34To Phoenix.
- 6:34Phoenix, okay.
- 6:35It's about 20
- 6:36Sky Harbor, sorry.
- 6:37Yeah.
- 6:42Okay, so you picked her up on That was
- 6:45Thursday you said? So, what day was
- 6:46Thursday? The 9th, is that right?
- 6:49Well, it was Friday morning, so it would
- 6:50have been the 10th.
- 6:52Oh, I got you. Okay, August 10th
- 6:55at 4:30 a.m.
- 6:57Mhm.
- 6:58Okay.
- 6:59And you Your flight was at what time?
- 7:017:10 you said, something like that?
- 7:02We flew at 7:00.
- 7:037:00, okay.
- 7:04We got to the airport like right around
- 7:065:00.
- 7:07Sure.
- 7:07Yeah.
- 7:10So, you picked her up from her house.
- 7:11Mhm.
- 7:12Is that the one on um
- 7:152825
- 7:16Yeah, what's her address? 2825
- 7:182825
- 7:21It just takes me a couple seconds.
- 7:22Saratoga
- 7:23Oh, here you go.
- 7:24I was like
- 7:24Saratoga Trail, is that right?
- 7:25Yeah.
- 7:31Okay.
- 7:33And did you go inside?
- 7:35Nope. Cuz the kids were sleeping. She
- 7:36said, "Just text me when you get here."
- 7:38She was actually waiting on the front
- 7:39porch.
- 7:39Oh, she was. Okay.
- 7:41So, you didn't see any of the
- 7:42you didn't see Chris.
- 7:43No.
- 7:44Um she was just on the front porch with
- 7:46a a bag suitcase?
- 7:48She had a carry-on suitcase and a purse.
- 7:50Okay. You remember what color her
- 7:51carry-on was?
- 7:52It's black. It's It's in the house
- 7:55sitting right by the stairs.
- 7:56Is that Okay. I've been in there.
- 7:58So, carry-on
- 8:00It was sitting there. Yeah.
- 8:01Okay.
- 8:02Like your regular carry-on?
- 8:04Yeah, I think it's like a
- 8:05I don't know. It was black and had some
- 8:07patent leather on it.
- 8:08Okay.
- 8:08It was sitting in the I Well, cuz I've
- 8:11been in the house the last few days. It
- 8:12was sitting right by the stairs
- 8:14Okay.
- 8:14when we went in yesterday.
- 8:20Okay. So, you
- 8:22pick her up 4:30
- 8:24at her house. She's got the carry-on and
- 8:25her purse.
- 8:26Mhm.
- 8:27What kind of purse did she have?
- 8:28It was a Dolce and Gabbana like beige
- 8:30colored. It's in the house, too.
- 8:32Beige
- 8:34I found it in her office when we went
- 8:36through the house.
- 8:37So, it's in the office?
- 8:39Yeah, it was in her office. Like right
- 8:41inside the door. I don't know how I
- 8:42walked past it as many times as I did
- 8:44cuz I was
- 8:45When we went in, I was I was concerned
- 8:47about Shanann
- 8:48Mhm.
- 8:48cuz I don't know. I can let you ask your
- 8:50questions and tell the story as you ask
- 8:51them or I can just tell you. I don't
- 8:52know.
- 8:53Well, kind of just kind of metal through
- 8:55this. So, just keep going ahead. I'll
- 8:56I'll interrupt you if I have a question.
- 8:58So, I was concerned because normally
- 9:00when we come back from these
- 9:02she harasses me and I don't want to say
- 9:04harass me, but she harasses me the next
- 9:06day. Like, "Come on, let's call people.
- 9:07Let's get things going. Let's work
- 9:09business."
- 9:10And
- 9:12she didn't call or she didn't text that
- 9:13morning. Like, usually I have a text
- 9:14message between 6:30 and 7:30 from her
- 9:16if she wants to do business or wants to
- 9:18get together or whatever and I had
- 9:19signed up a new promoter over the
- 9:21weekend. So, we had plans to go to lunch
- 9:22with her at 1:30.
- 9:24And um
- 9:26I woke up at like 7:45 that morning and
- 9:29I didn't hear anything from her. I
- 9:30thought it was odd, but I know we were
- 9:31both tired. So, I rolled over and went
- 9:33back to sleep and then I woke up and I
- 9:36still hadn't heard anything from her, so
- 9:37I texted her.
- 9:39Um like I said, I can show you the text.
- 9:41Yeah.
- 9:43Um
- 9:46I just have to skim through them.
- 9:49She's usually on the top.
- 9:54Um
- 9:55I texted her on
- 9:57yesterday morning
- 9:59at
- 10:018:43 a.m. asking her, "How are you?"
- 10:048:43?
- 10:05Yeah.
- 10:11And then I texted again at 8:55 and
- 10:14said, "Just wanted to see if you were
- 10:15okay.
- 10:17I know you were hurting a lot last
- 10:18night. I hope you're okay." She's 15
- 10:21weeks pregnant and
- 10:23she was having a lot of migraines over
- 10:24the weekend.
- 10:26And she um
- 10:28was real She was tired. She wasn't
- 10:29eating cuz of what was what like we were
- 10:31pushing food on her and water cuz she
- 10:33was dehydrated and not eating like she
- 10:35normally does and I presume it had to do
- 10:37with what was going on with Chris.
- 10:39So
- 10:40um
- 10:40All right. Hey, let me
- 10:42let me catch up with you real quick.
- 10:43Yeah, you're fine.
- 10:43Okay.
- 10:46Okay, so migraines.
- 10:48I'll make few notes so I can come back.
- 10:49Yeah.
- 11:00Sorry, I've got only part of the story,
- 11:01so I may not be able
- 11:02Yeah, no, you're fine. I can go back to
- 11:04your questions if you want. I can jump
- 11:05back.
- 11:05Okay, let me let me let me go back to
- 11:08the beige purse.
- 11:10Okay.
- 11:11So that that was the beige beige purse
- 11:13that she took with her on the trip and
- 11:15it was in the office
- 11:16Yes.
- 11:16where you found it.
- 11:17Yes.
- 11:18Is that an unusual place for that to be?
- 11:20I mean, no. I mean, I don't like I don't
- 11:22pay attention to where she puts her
- 11:23purse or whatever, so no, I don't think
- 11:25so, but I
- 11:27usually she has it on the counter when
- 11:30I'm there cuz we're getting ready to
- 11:31leave, so I don't know.
- 11:33So, did you move it at all, or did you
- 11:34leave it where it was?
- 11:35Um I told them I found it, and then they
- 11:39asked me to get it, the police officer
- 11:40did, and Chris, I went and grabbed it,
- 11:42and I gave it to Chris. I didn't go
- 11:43through it. I gave it to him, and then
- 11:44he went through it.
- 11:46Okay, let's go um
- 11:50So, I'll let you
- 11:52I'll let you tell me
- 11:53your story.
- 11:54Okay.
- 11:55And then we'll go back through and I'll
- 11:56ask you questions after that. Okay.
- 11:57So,
- 11:58So, let's start with
- 11:59you go to the conference and
- 12:01We came home.
- 12:02Came home.
- 12:03We came home.
- 12:04What time What time did you come home?
- 12:05Let's start there.
- 12:05Um so, our flight was delayed. We were
- 12:07supposed to fly out at 8:45, I believe.
- 12:10I'd have to look at the boarding pass
- 12:11and get here at um 11:25.
- 12:15And our flight got delayed, and we
- 12:16didn't actually take off and want to say
- 12:18it was 10:20 is when we boarded the
- 12:20plane, and we didn't get here until
- 12:2212:45 in the morning.
- 12:2412:45, okay.
- 12:28And then
- 12:29I dropped her off between I thought it
- 12:32was around 1:45, cuz I got home a little
- 12:34after
- 12:352:00,
- 12:37but the neighbor's
- 12:39security system has me dropping her off
- 12:40at 1:48.
- 12:45Okay.
- 12:48And then I went home, and I didn't talk
- 12:49to her again that night.
- 12:50Okay. And what time did you get home?
- 12:52Um I got home a little after 2:00. Like
- 12:54it was like 2:01 or 2:03.
- 12:56Okay.
- 12:57It wasn't like we live really close
- 12:58together.
- 12:59How How far do you live away?
- 13:01Um
- 13:03from her house to my house, I would say
- 13:05like 5 or 6 miles.
- 13:06Okay.
- 13:07It's on the other side of I-25, so.
- 13:09Okay.
- 13:10It wasn't far, so.
- 13:11Okay. All right. Okay. Okay, so go
- 13:13ahead. I'm sorry.
- 13:15So, then that morning I woke up and I
- 13:17texted her,
- 13:18Mhm.
- 13:18and I like I said, I asked her how she
- 13:21if she was okay,
- 13:22and then I said I and then at 8:55 I
- 13:24texted and said, "Just wanted to see if
- 13:25you're okay. I know you were hurting a
- 13:27lot last night. I hope you're okay
- 13:29because she was in a lot of pain on the
- 13:31plane. She last year in August, she had
- 13:33a neck surgery and had to have a
- 13:35degenerative disc fixed.
- 13:39So, her neck was really body bothering
- 13:41her because we sat in the airport extra
- 13:43long. She was sitting for extra long and
- 13:45she just she was in a lot of pain.
- 13:47Um I don't know if it was that and then
- 13:49she had a headache on top of it and so
- 13:51um
- 13:52so that's why I texted her that morning
- 13:53cuz like I said, it's not normal for her
- 13:55not to text me in the morning usually.
- 13:57Does she have medication that she
- 13:58generally takes for the uh
- 13:59Yeah, she had I don't know what it is,
- 14:02but she did have migraine medicine with
- 14:03her and then she also had um anti-nausea
- 14:05medicine with her that she was taking
- 14:07over the weekend.
- 14:08Okay.
- 14:09And I believe
- 14:09Migraines give her make her sick?
- 14:12Yeah.
- 14:12Like nauseated?
- 14:13Yeah.
- 14:13Okay.
- 14:14Well, that and she's pregnant, too. So,
- 14:15I don't know if she's taking the
- 14:16anti-nausea for the migraine or if she's
- 14:18pregnant.
- 14:18right.
- 14:20So, yeah.
- 14:22So, then I didn't hear anything and I
- 14:25knew she had a doctor's appointment at
- 14:269:00 a.m. That was the other thing. On
- 14:27the way home,
- 14:28she was saying that in the car, she said
- 14:31um it's going to really suck to get up
- 14:33in 3 hours. And I was like, "That's only
- 14:345:30. Why are you getting up in 3
- 14:36hours?"
- 14:37And she's like, "Cuz Cece will be up,
- 14:39the baby." She's like, "She's still on
- 14:40North Carolina time cuz they had just
- 14:42the week prior come back from being in
- 14:44North Carolina for 6 weeks."
- 14:45Okay.
- 14:47Um
- 14:48Who all was in North Carolina?
- 14:49Cece, Bella, and Shannon all went out.
- 14:53Um
- 14:54I could look on the calendar and tell
- 14:55you the dates.
- 14:56Um
- 14:57at the end of June.
- 14:59And then Chris went out the last week
- 15:00and then flew back with them. They were
- 15:02there
- 15:05Um
- 15:13Let's see. We came back
- 15:15from San Diego on the 25th. So, she flew
- 15:18out on the 26th
- 15:20of June and then they came back
- 15:23and then Chris flew out flew out there
- 15:24on the 31st
- 15:27of
- 15:28and then they all flew back on the 7th
- 15:30of August.
- 15:32Okay.
- 15:34Um
- 15:36So
- 15:37the doctor's appointment was at
- 15:40prenatal
- 15:40Yeah, it was a prenatal appointment.
- 15:42Okay.
- 15:43And um
- 15:45so I asked her I texted her and said how
- 15:46her appointment went asked her how it
- 15:48went.
- 15:529:00 again?
- 15:59I texted her and again at 9:21 and said
- 16:01let me know how your appointment goes.
- 16:03And then at 11:46 cuz I thought she
- 16:06might be busy out running errands or
- 16:08whatever and then it wasn't like her but
- 16:10Is it unusual for her not to return
- 16:12texts?
- 16:12Yes, very unusual because of her
- 16:14business that's how she like
- 16:16communicates with everybody. She's
- 16:18constantly on Facebook and that was the
- 16:20other thing she didn't post on social
- 16:21media that morning.
- 16:22And if you go back and look at her
- 16:23Facebook she has posts anywhere from
- 16:255:30 to 7:00 in the morning every single
- 16:28morning. Every morning it's very
- 16:30unlikely.
- 16:31And she didn't on the
- 16:3312th.
- 16:34Correct.
- 16:35Then that's unusual.
- 16:36Yes, so when I looked on Facebook cuz I
- 16:38hadn't been on Facebook either I was
- 16:40um
- 16:42I was actually in I drove to Longmont
- 16:45around 10:00 to go look at a house for
- 16:47the other gal that was with us in
- 16:49Arizona. Her name is Cassie.
- 16:51Um
- 16:52I went to they're supposed to be moving
- 16:53out here so I went to go look at a house
- 16:56for them and after I did that I was like
- 16:58I haven't heard from Shannan have you?
- 17:00And she was like no I haven't either.
- 17:01She's not returning my phone calls or
- 17:02texts like we both have called and
- 17:03texted her.
- 17:05Um so at 11:46 I said I'm very worried
- 17:08about you I'm coming to your house. And
- 17:11the reason I decided to go to her house
- 17:13was because I had watched the dog the
- 17:15dog Dieter
- 17:17the week before
- 17:18and I didn't bother Chris cuz I knew he
- 17:20figured he was at work, but I figured
- 17:21like, "Well, maybe after he left for
- 17:22work she passed out or something. She's
- 17:24pregnant. She wasn't feeling well.
- 17:26Something." So, I was like, "I'll just
- 17:27go to the house and see if she's there."
- 17:28And if like if her car's there, but she
- 17:31doesn't answer, then I'll use their code
- 17:33to go in.
- 17:34So,
- 17:35um
- 17:37I had my son with me, my 16-year-old and
- 17:38my 2-year-old, and we go to their house,
- 17:41and I knocked on the door, and I rang
- 17:42the doorbell, and her shoes that she had
- 17:44on the night before were right inside
- 17:45the door.
- 17:46Um and those shoes she wears everywhere.
- 17:49It doesn't matter if there's like unless
- 17:51it snows 3 ft, she won't put on tennis
- 17:53shoes, but they're flip-flops. She wears
- 17:55them everywhere. So, I was like, "Well,
- 17:56that's odd if she's not here."
- 17:58Um and she buys the same damn flip-flops
- 18:01every year cuz she likes them that much.
- 18:03Like
- 18:03Do you know what kind of brand name they
- 18:05are?
- 18:05Um I don't. I have a picture of them.
- 18:07Can you send me some of this stuff?
- 18:09Yeah.
- 18:10Can you If you have a picture of the of
- 18:11the flip-flops, that'd be great. And can
- 18:13you Do you know how to uh
- 18:16Yeah. Screenshots. Can you send me
- 18:18My text?
- 18:18this text that also that'd be perfect.
- 18:21If you could send them to that phone
- 18:22number I called you on, that'd be great.
- 18:27Um what color are these flip-flops?
- 18:28They're black.
- 18:32Are they like regular between the toe
- 18:34flip-flops?
- 18:34Yeah.
- 18:35Okay.
- 18:38And those were inside the door, and you
- 18:40could see them.
- 18:41Yeah, I could see them cuz they're the
- 18:42way their door is it's a door and then
- 18:43there's two glass panels on each side.
- 18:45Okay.
- 18:46So, I knocked, I rang the doorbell,
- 18:48And she always wears those.
- 18:50All the time.
- 18:50Nothing else.
- 18:51I mean, she wears other shoes like if
- 18:52she goes out on a date or something to
- 18:54wear other shoes, but she's always in
- 18:55those flip-flops.
- 18:56Okay.
- 18:57Like we went to Arizona, and that's the
- 18:59only shoes she brought with her.
- 19:01Um
- 19:03and then
- 19:08Uh so, she didn't answer. I knocked. She
- 19:11I rang the doorbell, she didn't answer,
- 19:12and then I tried the code. I didn't even
- 19:16think to look for the car yet, but I
- 19:17tried the code, and then when I went to
- 19:19open the door,
- 19:20they have one of those locks like you
- 19:22have in a hotel room up top.
- 19:24Oh, yeah. The
- 19:24So, that was
- 19:25thing that flip over.
- 19:26That was flipped. So, I couldn't get in,
- 19:28but I mean you could stick your arm in,
- 19:29but you couldn't get in.
- 19:30Right.
- 19:31So, you have the code for the door.
- 19:33I do have the code for the door, but I
- 19:35couldn't Yeah, I couldn't drink.
- 19:36Okay.
- 19:37So, then I was like, "Why would they
- 19:38flip this lock?" The only time I know of
- 19:40them flipping that lock is when CeCe,
- 19:42their 3-year-old, tries to escape.
- 19:44Or I mean, I don't know if they flip it
- 19:46at night cuz I'm never there when they
- 19:47go to bed, but the only time I've seen
- 19:48them use it is when they're on the
- 19:49inside of the house
- 19:50Mhm.
- 19:51um to keep CeCe from going outside cuz
- 19:53she'll She's at that age where she can
- 19:55open the door and she escapes. So,
- 19:57um So, the lock was flipped, and I was
- 20:00like I yelled through the door, nobody
- 20:01answered me, um and then I told
- 20:05Nicholas, my son, I was like, "Cuz the
- 20:06garage panels where you can see in, it
- 20:08was too high for me." I'm like, "Can you
- 20:10see her car's in the garage?" And he
- 20:12couldn't, so then I backed my car up and
- 20:14pulled it up closer to the garage, and
- 20:15he stood on my hood to look and see, and
- 20:17her car was in the garage, and I'm like,
- 20:19"Why would like in the back door was
- 20:21They have a uh sliding glass door to the
- 20:23You can see from the front door, and
- 20:24they have one of those things that comes
- 20:25down."
- 20:26That was locked, too. Yeah.
- 20:28That was locked, too. And I'm like, "And
- 20:30the dog was put up."
- 20:31And
- 20:32I don't know if they cage him all the
- 20:34time, but as far as I know, they only do
- 20:36it when they leave the house, so I don't
- 20:39know.
- 20:40Um and then
- 20:42I don't remember at what point I I mean,
- 20:44I could look at my phone, but I did call
- 20:46Chris and said I was like, "Chris, I'm
- 20:48worried about Shannan.
- 20:49She's not at home. Or I mean, I said her
- 20:52car's here, but she's not at home,
- 20:55and um
- 20:58do you know where she's at? Like, it's
- 20:59not I like I haven't heard from her this
- 21:01morning."
- 21:02He then told me that she did not
- 21:05take the girls to daycare, and they were
- 21:06going on a playdate. And then I turned
- 21:08around and I was like, "Well, if they
- 21:09went on a playdate, why doesn't she have
- 21:10her car?"
- 21:11And then he proceeded to tell me, he's
- 21:13like, "I don't know what Shannan's told
- 21:15you or hasn't told you, or if you know
- 21:18any of this, but um he's like, "And I'm
- 21:20not trying to bring you into our
- 21:21personal stuff, but me and Shannan are
- 21:22separating, and we're going to sell the
- 21:24house." And at which point I said,
- 21:25"Chris, your personal stuff is none of
- 21:27my business. That's not my concern right
- 21:29now. Either your wife and you will work
- 21:30things out, or you won't. But where is
- 21:32your wife?"
- 21:34Because she doesn't like she goes
- 21:36everywhere in that car. It's she paid
- 21:39for by the company, like
- 21:41It was just odd to me that the car was
- 21:43there.
- 21:44Does she have any other mode of
- 21:45transportation?
- 21:46No, that's her only vehicle. The only
- 21:48other vehicle they have is his work
- 21:49truck, and he's not allowed to drive
- 21:51anybody in it but him.
- 21:53Okay.
- 21:54Like he will drive home from work, drop
- 21:56off the truck, and pick up the other car
- 21:57to go get the kids from school if he has
- 21:59to.
- 21:59Okay.
- 22:00What time did you call Chris?
- 22:02Um
- 22:10I'm sorry.
- 22:15What was the timing?
- 22:23Um I called him at 12:27.
- 22:30And I called him twice. He didn't
- 22:31answer, and then I called again.
- 22:36Okay.
- 22:37And that I mean we had that conversation
- 22:39when he said that they were going on a
- 22:40playdate.
- 22:40a playdate, and I was like,
- 22:42Then I was like, "Okay, but like if
- 22:44they're on a playdate, how'd she get
- 22:46them there?" Cuz they're both in car
- 22:47seats.
- 22:48Right.
- 22:48He's like, "Well, a friend must have
- 22:49picked them up or something." He's like,
- 22:50"I don't know." He's like, "I'm busy,
- 22:51and I'm at work." He's like, "And
- 22:53because I was messing with the door, I
- 22:56set off the alarm system, so they called
- 22:58him at work." And he's like, "Are you
- 22:59messing with the door?" I said, "Yeah, I
- 23:01tried to get in your house cuz I'm
- 23:02worried about your wife."
- 23:04And he was like, she's He's like, she's
- 23:05on a playdate and he goes, "Well, I'm at
- 23:07work." He's like, "I'll try and contact
- 23:08her." And he hung up.
- 23:11So, then I went and locked the front
- 23:12door and my son was messing with the
- 23:14garage door and I told him to stop it
- 23:16and he set the alarm off again and then
- 23:17Chris called again and said, "Are you
- 23:19still at my house?" And I told him no
- 23:20cuz we were leaving, but
- 23:22um
- 23:23we left because I'm like, okay, well,
- 23:25let's go see if she went to her doctor's
- 23:26appointment cuz I'm trying to like like
- 23:28maybe I don't know, maybe she had gone
- 23:30on a playdate, who knows.
- 23:32Um so, I drove to the doctor's office
- 23:34cuz I doctor there too and I know
- 23:36they're not supposed to give out
- 23:37personal And they didn't give out
- 23:38personal information. Like I I'm seeing
- 23:40it I know the whole HIPAA laws and all
- 23:41of that. I just walked up to him and I
- 23:43said, "I know you're not supposed to
- 23:43tell me this. I get it. I don't need
- 23:46other information. I just need to know
- 23:47if Shannan walked showed up for her
- 23:48doctor's appointment."
- 23:50And the lady looked at me and I was
- 23:52like, "Please, I just need to know if I
- 23:55need to be concerned and if she didn't
- 23:57show up for that appointment, I know I
- 23:59need to be concerned."
- 24:01And she told me she didn't show up for
- 24:02the appointment.
- 24:03Okay. What time were you at the doctor's
- 24:05office? Do you remember?
- 24:06Well, if I called
- 24:08Chris at
- 24:1211:00 or 12:27, it's probably like 15
- 24:15minutes from their house. I can give you
- 24:17the address of the doctor's office.
- 24:18Yeah, if you you know it?
- 24:19It's 6 Yeah, cuz I go there all the
- 24:21time. It's 651 Mitchell Way.
- 24:28And it's in Murray, Colorado.
- 24:36Do you think you were there
- 24:381:00-ish maybe?
- 24:39Um let's see, Cassie called me at when I
- 24:43was leaving there and I was heading
- 24:45back.
- 24:50At
- 24:5112:40.
- 24:57So, yeah, I would say around 12:30,
- 24:5812:40.
- 24:59Okay. 12:40.
- 25:00Cuz I got two phone calls from our
- 25:02friends cuz they both wanted to know
- 25:03what was going on.
- 25:04Okay.
- 25:05So, you you think it's about 15 minutes
- 25:06between their house and the doctor's
- 25:08office? So, we call it 12:45.
- 25:13Would that be accurate, you think?
- 25:14Possibly, yeah.
- 25:15I'll call it about 12:40 to 12:45.
- 25:17Okay.
- 25:18Does that sound
- 25:19Okay.
- 25:20accurate to you?
- 25:21Yeah, cuz well, I left the house I when
- 25:23I called Chris is when I left the house
- 25:24shortly thereafter and that was at
- 25:2512:27, so.
- 25:26Okay.
- 25:28I don't want to put words in your mouth.
- 25:29No, I know.
- 25:31So, then after I left the doctor's
- 25:32office, I was like, "Okay, something
- 25:33seriously wrong." So, cuz I've been in
- 25:36contact with Cassie and Christina all
- 25:37morning cuz these are people that we
- 25:38normally talk to her every day.
- 25:41Um
- 25:42I called them. I'm like, "What do I do?
- 25:44Chris said she's with a friend." And
- 25:45they were both like, "Go back to the
- 25:46house and call the cops." So, then I
- 25:48did. I drove back to the house and I
- 25:50called Chris again. I said, "I'm going
- 25:51back to Well, I texted Shannan
- 25:53again.
- 25:56I'm Don't mean to jump around.
- 25:58That's okay.
- 25:59I'm with you.
- 26:02There's just I don't I don't get it.
- 26:16Sunday, Monday
- 26:21I texted her This is when I left the
- 26:23doctor's office at 12:47. I texted her.
- 26:25I said, "I've been to your house. You
- 26:27won't open the door. Your alarm's set.
- 26:29Your shoes are sitting inside. Your
- 26:31car's home. I'm very concerned about you
- 26:33right now. I need you to text me or call
- 26:35me. I just want to know you're okay. If
- 26:37you don't want to talk to nobody,
- 26:39you don't want to be around anybody, I
- 26:41get it. It's fine. I just need to know
- 26:43you're okay."
- 26:44And she didn't respond. So, I was
- 26:46driving back to her house at that point.
- 26:48Okay.
- 26:50Um and then Cassie had called Chris and
- 26:53told Chris that he needed to go to his
- 26:54house.
- 26:55And who's Cassie?
- 26:56She's one of the other Thrive promoters,
- 26:58but we're all friends. She was in
- 26:59Arizona with us.
- 27:00Okay.
- 27:01She lives in Arizona.
- 27:02Oh, she does. Okay.
- 27:02Yeah.
- 27:03And who is Christina?
- 27:05Christina's also another friend, but she
- 27:07lived with Chris She lived with Chris
- 27:09and Shannan for 6 weeks when she had her
- 27:11neck surgery. She lives in Hawaii and
- 27:12she flew out here with her daughter and
- 27:14lived with Shannan for the 6 weeks when
- 27:15she had her neck surgery.
- 27:16Okay. But neither of them were actually
- 27:17here.
- 27:18No.
- 27:18Okay.
- 27:19That's why they were on the phone with
- 27:20me because I called one of them and was
- 27:21like, "Did Did Have you either one of
- 27:23you heard from Shannan?" because I
- 27:25hadn't heard from her either. So, I
- 27:26started reaching out to people like,
- 27:27"Okay, somebody's heard from her, at
- 27:28least then I don't have to worry."
- 27:29Right.
- 27:30Okay. So, you text
- 27:33her at 12:47 and and you're going to her
- 27:35house.
- 27:36Right.
- 27:36What happens now?
- 27:37So, then I'm talking to
- 27:41Within all of this time frame, I'm
- 27:42talking I talked to Chris I think I
- 27:44called Chris again.
- 27:47I talked to Cassie and she said that she
- 27:49had talked to Chris and he was supposed
- 27:50to be at his house in there in 30
- 27:51minutes and I was like, "I'm on my way
- 27:53back." So, I called
- 27:55uh Chris
- 28:01at
- 28:0412:41.
- 28:0812:49 you said?
- 28:0912:41.
- 28:1012:41.
- 28:13I called him at 12:41.
- 28:15Okay.
- 28:16Did you talk to him at that point?
- 28:17I can't remember if I talked to him or
- 28:19he didn't answer.
- 28:20Okay.
- 28:20I don't remember cuz I called him again
- 28:22at 1:31 cuz at by this time I'd already
- 28:24been back to the house.
- 28:25Okay.
- 28:26And Cassie had said that he was coming
- 28:27back and he'd be there in 30 minutes.
- 28:31So,
- 28:33that was in the time frame that I was
- 28:34driving back to the house. So, I I don't
- 28:36remember if
- 28:38I don't remember if I talked to him to
- 28:39be honest with you at the 12:41.
- 28:41Okay.
- 28:41But I did talk to him at 1:31 because he
- 28:44wasn't home yet and he should have been
- 28:46there if it was only going to take him
- 28:4730 minutes.
- 28:48Right.
- 28:48So, and by that time I called the
- 28:54Um I called the Frederick Police
- 28:56Department at 1:31 cuz I called Chris at
- 28:591:00 or 1:31 I called Chris and said,
- 29:03"Chris, where are you? You said you were
- 29:04going to be here in 30 minutes." He's
- 29:05like, "I'm on my way. I'm on now 70. I'm
- 29:0745 minutes out." I said, "Well, I'm
- 29:08calling the police
- 29:10to do a welfare mom's check."
- 29:12And I honestly couldn't tell you at that
- 29:14point what he said or didn't say.
- 29:15Okay.
- 29:16The phone call was
- 29:18I don't know if I'll tell you details.
- 29:33I had an incoming call at 12:41 and it
- 29:36lasted for 42 seconds. I think that was
- 29:38him calling me to ask me if I was still
- 29:40at the house messing with the door.
- 29:42At 12:41?
- 29:43Yeah.
- 29:43Okay.
- 29:45And then at
- 29:481:31
- 29:50I called him and that's when I told him
- 29:52that like you're not here.
- 29:54And then he still wasn't at the house.
- 29:57By 1:52 I called again
- 30:00and was like, "Where are you?" But I had
- 30:02already called the police then and they
- 30:03were on their
- 30:03What What time did you call the police?
- 30:0512:00 or 1:33.
- 30:07Did you call 911 or the regular line?
- 30:09I called them on emergency line cuz I
- 30:11didn't know whether they would consider
- 30:12that an emergency or not. So, I looked
- 30:14up the non-emergency line and called it.
- 30:19Okay.
- 30:20And then um
- 30:21So, then 1:52 you said you got another
- 30:23phone call or you called him or
- 30:24I called him again and I was like,
- 30:26"Where are you?" Cuz the police were
- 30:26there and they wanted to know how far
- 30:28out he was cuz we couldn't get in the
- 30:29house. The police couldn't even get in
- 30:30the house.
- 30:30Yeah.
- 30:31He's like, "Well, I don't want to
- 30:35break down the door if she's not in
- 30:36there." didn't. So, he was checking
- 30:37windows and stuff and trying to figure
- 30:39out how he could get in.
- 30:41And then he said I he was like 10 or 15
- 30:43minutes out or whatnot. I don't like I
- 30:45really don't remember.
- 30:47Okay.
- 30:48It was a very short conversation. I
- 30:49don't know how long it lasted.
- 30:54Um it was I was on the phone with him
- 30:55for 17 seconds, so if that tells you.
- 30:57Sure. That's short.
- 30:58Yeah.
- 31:00Um
- 31:01So then Chris gets there
- 31:03and
- 31:04the police officer was like, "Do you
- 31:06know where your wife is?" And he was
- 31:07like, "No." He's like, "Well, can you
- 31:08open your door so we can go inside?" And
- 31:10oh, he wasn't there yet. And then I
- 31:11called his mom her mom because I thought
- 31:13because her mom had lived there, too. So
- 31:14I called
- 31:16Cassie cuz Cassie stayed with her and
- 31:17then her mom stayed with her. So I was
- 31:19trying to get anybody to give us a code
- 31:20cuz of the garage cuz that was the only
- 31:21way to get in. So I let Chris go and
- 31:23then I called her mom and her mom didn't
- 31:25know what was going on. And I was like,
- 31:26"Sandy, do you have a code to Shannon
- 31:28Chris's
- 31:29garage door?" And she was like
- 31:31she started giving me numbers, but none
- 31:32of them worked. And then I of course had
- 31:34to tell her what was going on and I
- 31:36didn't call her before that cuz I didn't
- 31:37want to upset her if there was nothing
- 31:38to upset her about.
- 31:41Um
- 31:42so, and then Chris showed up and let us
- 31:44in.
- 31:45Okay. How did he let you in?
- 31:47He opened the garage door.
- 31:48Okay. So
- 31:50And it didn't dawn on
- 31:51I'm sorry. There's There's a front door
- 31:53and then a a back sliding glass door.
- 31:55Yeah.
- 31:55And then is there a door through the
- 31:57garage as well?
- 31:58Yeah.
- 31:58Okay.
- 31:59Sorry, go ahead.
- 32:00No, you're okay.
- 32:01It didn't dawn on me at the time because
- 32:04he went to open the front door so he
- 32:07could come inside, but when we walked
- 32:09into the garage or when the garage door
- 32:10opened, he immediately opened the car
- 32:12door
- 32:13and then bolted for the house. Like the
- 32:15more like I've been trying to play this
- 32:17through my head so many times in the
- 32:19last 2 days.
- 32:21Okay, let me see if I've got this
- 32:22straight. So he opens the garage door
- 32:25and it's you and Chris
- 32:28the police officer
- 32:29officer
- 32:31my 2-year-old I think was playing in the
- 32:33front seat of the car still at that
- 32:34point. And the neighbor might have been
- 32:36there by that point. The neighbor came
- 32:37over at some point.
- 32:39the garage door goes up.
- 32:40Uh-huh.
- 32:40And is Chris in first?
- 32:42Yeah.
- 32:43Who's behind him?
- 32:44Um I think it was the police officer and
- 32:46then me and my son.
- 32:47Okay, so as Chris walks by, what what
- 32:50car is in the garage?
- 32:51It's a white Lexus.
- 32:52Okay, is it one of the SUV type uh
- 32:55It yeah.
- 32:56vehicles I don't know.
- 32:57Like a Ford Explorer type version. Yeah.
- 32:59And that So, he walks along the
- 33:01passenger side. I'm sorry, he starts on
- 33:03the driver's side.
- 33:04passenger's side.
- 33:04Passenger's side.
- 33:05And he opens the door.
- 33:06And it didn't
- 33:07Front front door?
- 33:08Front front passenger door.
- 33:10Front passenger door.
- 33:11And I don't know why that's sticking out
- 33:12of my head, but it like distracted all
- 33:14of us because I started looking at the
- 33:16car and then I looked to see if the
- 33:17girls' car seats were in there and
- 33:18whatever. And then he went and opened
- 33:20the front door and it like I didn't even
- 33:23dawn to go on the front door. We all
- 33:24went through the garage, but he went
- 33:25around and opened the front door, did
- 33:27whatever he did.
- 33:30And I'm not trying to incriminate the
- 33:32man. I just I don't know why I'm
- 33:33bringing it
- 33:33That's unusual.
- 33:34And it doesn't explain things.
- 33:36Okay.
- 33:37So, let's see. So, in the garage
- 33:43opens front front passenger door.
- 33:46Mhm.
- 33:53You think that was an effort to delay?
- 33:55I don't know. I'm just And it could just
- 33:56be me like my mind, do you know what I
- 33:58mean? Like I'm just trying to like
- 34:00replay the events of what happened.
- 34:02It just was odd to me. Like if we're
- 34:03looking for them in the house, why did
- 34:05you open the car door?
- 34:06Yeah.
- 34:08It was odd.
- 34:09unusual.
- 34:10Okay, so I assume that that delay wasn't
- 34:13very long.
- 34:14No, it was probably like 30 seconds, 45
- 34:16seconds. I don't even know. It wasn't
- 34:18that long, but we went in the house, but
- 34:19I know I was like cuz I looked in the
- 34:21car seats were in there. I'm like if
- 34:23she's with friends, why are the car
- 34:24seats here?
- 34:24Mhm.
- 34:25Like how many friends do you know carry
- 34:26around extra car seats?
- 34:27Yeah, none.
- 34:28So, yeah. So, that's where like at the
- 34:30more I thought about it since yesterday,
- 34:32I'm like, "Why did he open the car
- 34:33door?" Like that's something you do
- 34:35after the fact, I think. Like I'd go
- 34:36inside and see if somebody was in there
- 34:38or if they were okay.
- 34:41So.
- 34:42So then you go you're inside.
- 34:44We're inside.
- 34:44Okay.
- 34:45You can go ahead and
- 34:46And everybody kind of split. The police
- 34:48officer and him like everybody kind of
- 34:50split cuz we were looking for CeCe and
- 34:51Bella and Shannan. Like everybody just
- 34:53kind of split up cuz at this point I
- 34:54don't I don't know what you guys are
- 34:56considering this or not considering
- 34:57this, but at this point we all split up
- 34:59and we're just looking in to see if we
- 35:00can find them.
- 35:01Um downstairs, upstairs, everywhere.
- 35:03Every room, everywhere. We're just
- 35:05looking and they're nowhere in the
- 35:06house. They're nowhere. Like
- 35:09Okay.
- 35:09Nowhere.
- 35:10Can you describe the house inside the
- 35:12house for me? I mean is it in shambles?
- 35:14Is it messy? Is it neat?
- 35:15clean. It's neat.
- 35:16It's always that way?
- 35:17For the most part. I mean the girls
- 35:19might have a couple toys out here or
- 35:20there, but no, it was really clean. Like
- 35:22in Shannan's like if you I'm sure you're
- 35:24going to go in her house at some point.
- 35:26She's very OCD. Everything's labeled. It
- 35:28has its spot.
- 35:29Okay.
- 35:30It doesn't move from that spot. If it
- 35:31does, it gets put back in that spot.
- 35:33Like yeah.
- 35:34Okay.
- 35:35Do you notice anything unusual? Um
- 35:38Does it smell weird? Um
- 35:40No, it just
- 35:42I mean I could say it felt weird, but
- 35:43weird?
- 35:44It felt weird.
- 35:44What's Talk about feeling weird.
- 35:47I don't know. By that point it felt like
- 35:48it had an eerie feeling to it. I just my
- 35:50mind wasn't in a good place.
- 35:51Okay.
- 35:53Cuz
- 35:54it didn't She never leaves that car.
- 35:57Like that car goes everywhere with her.
- 35:59I mean unless she's out of town and
- 36:01Chris needs the car cuz he has the
- 36:02girls, they always have that. She's
- 36:04always in that car.
- 36:06So.
- 36:07I don't know. It was just weird to me
- 36:08that the car was there. Her shoes were
- 36:10by the front door.
- 36:11Okay.
- 36:12So.
- 36:12So would it be fair to say
- 36:14that
- 36:16for her to leave the house without her
- 36:18shoes and that car
- 36:21It's out of character.
- 36:22It's very unusual for her.
- 36:23Yes. And it got worse as we went on. So
- 36:27we all split up and we're looking for
- 36:28things.
- 36:30And then I'm not sure how we all ended
- 36:32upstairs, but we all ended upstairs at
- 36:34one point and
- 36:37Shannan makes her daughters beds every
- 36:38day. Like I've been upstairs with her
- 36:40they have a playroom upstairs. I've seen
- 36:42their rooms. Those beds were not made.
- 36:44Beds were not made.
- 36:45The beds the little girls beds were not
- 36:46made. Shannan's and Chris's bed was
- 36:48stripped.
- 36:50Okay.
- 36:51All of the bedding was and I don't know
- 36:53if all of the bedding but the bedding
- 36:54was all over in the corners of the room.
- 36:59I didn't touch it. I didn't go through
- 37:00it. I don't know like if she's were
- 37:01missing or anything like that, but all
- 37:03of the bedding was stripped off the bed
- 37:04which I thought was weird.
- 37:20And then the police officer had asked if
- 37:22she had her phone on her and we didn't
- 37:24know at that point. And then like 5
- 37:26minutes later my son was like rummaging
- 37:28through the pillows on the sofa and he
- 37:30found her phone shoved down in the
- 37:31cushions on the sofa.
- 37:35Okay.
- 37:38All right. Let me let me back up to the
- 37:40bed real quick.
- 37:40Okay.
- 37:41Okay. So the So
- 37:43just I'm clear so the girls beds were
- 37:45not made and that's unusual.
- 37:46Yes.
- 37:47Okay. And then the bedding for their bed
- 37:50which I would I would say was in the
- 37:51master bedroom.
- 37:52Yeah. You can see it from the stairs.
- 37:54Okay. And it was all stripped off and
- 37:56then like piled in the corner or
- 37:58Yeah, there was a pile over in like if
- 38:00you were facing the room this way and
- 38:02the beds right here there was piles in
- 38:04the corner both of these corners.
- 38:05Okay. So it's in two corners.
- 38:12Okay. So there was just a bare mattress
- 38:14that you saw?
- 38:14Yeah, there was a mattress cover on it
- 38:16but like I don't know I don't know if it
- 38:17was a mattress pad or just a mattress
- 38:19cover but there weren't any sheets or
- 38:20blankets or pillows on it.
- 38:21Okay.
- 38:23They were all on the floor.
- 38:25Which I thought was odd because
- 38:29Shannan usually doesn't start a project
- 38:30unless she's going to finish her project
- 38:32because of her OCD-ness.
- 38:34If that makes sense.
- 38:35Yeah.
- 38:36But Chris does all the laundry, too. So,
- 38:39if Chris left for work, why was the bed
- 38:40stripped?
- 38:44Right.
- 38:44And he says he does takes care of all
- 38:46the laundry, does all the laundry. So,
- 38:48that was the other thing.
- 38:49And that They're silly little things,
- 38:50but like why did he Why Why would he
- 38:52strip the bed before he went to work if
- 38:54Shannan was still there sleeping in it?
- 38:57Okay.
- 38:58You said the pillows were on the ground,
- 38:59too?
- 39:00Yes.
- 39:03Did you happen to notice if the covers
- 39:05were on the pillows?
- 39:06I didn't.
- 39:07Okay.
- 39:10What color sheets were on the bed or
- 39:11were laying in the pile?
- 39:13Um they were white.
- 39:22Um
- 39:23any blankets or anything like that you
- 39:24noticed?
- 39:25Yeah, there was blankets. I I couldn't
- 39:26tell if the Like I said, there was There
- 39:28was They have like a down comforter or a
- 39:29duvet.
- 39:31Okay.
- 39:31That was on the floor. I don't know if
- 39:33it had an actual cover on them or not or
- 39:35if it was there.
- 39:36Like I said, I didn't touch I tried to
- 39:39touch as little as possible.
- 39:42Okay.
- 39:52Cuz well, at that point bad thoughts
- 39:54were going through my head.
- 40:03Okay, so after you leave the master
- 40:05Anything else in the master bedroom that
- 40:06you noticed?
- 40:06We weren't in the master bedroom. I just
- 40:07saw that from the Like I peeked in the
- 40:09door and saw it. I didn't actually go in
- 40:10yet. So, then I turned around and the
- 40:13police officer had asked if she had her
- 40:15phone. And then Chris comes out of the
- 40:17master bedroom and says she left her
- 40:19wedding ring on the nightstand.
- 40:21I didn't see it on the nightstand, but
- 40:23he brought it out and had it in his
- 40:24hand.
- 40:38Did she have it with her in Arizona?
- 40:40Mhm.
- 40:41It was on her hand.
- 40:44She wore her I mean I don't I don't
- 40:45think I've The only time I've ever seen
- 40:46her take it off was when she had her
- 40:47neck surgery.
- 40:50Cuz she can't have jewelry on when you
- 40:51have surgery.
- 40:56All right. Tell me more about the phone.
- 40:58So my son, like I said, he was rummaging
- 41:00through the pillows cuz we were trying
- 41:01to see if her phone was there cuz if it
- 41:03was, you know, it's usually where people
- 41:05normally put phones or whatever by the
- 41:06bed or whatever.
- 41:08I don't know why he chose to look in the
- 41:09sofa, but he did. He's like 16 years
- 41:11old. He's I don't know. So
- 41:13Where where is the sofa?
- 41:14It's right outside. They have like a So
- 41:16you have um Chris's and Shannan's room
- 41:19are right here. Then there's a playroom
- 41:21over here and a
- 41:23bathroom, and then there's a laundry
- 41:24room right outside their bedroom.
- 41:26And then there's like a family room, and
- 41:27then across the hall is the girls'
- 41:29rooms. Like not a hall, but like the
- 41:31corridor or whatever you want to call
- 41:32it, the family room. The girls' rooms
- 41:34are right across there.
- 41:36Um
- 41:37And is this a two-story home? Okay.
- 41:39It's well three. It's got a basement,
- 41:40too.
- 41:41Okay.
- 41:42Um so my son found the phone, and it was
- 41:44stuffed down in the
- 41:45Yeah, I'm sorry. Where is the couch
- 41:46again?
- 41:47Like
- 41:47So it's in the family room?
- 41:48Yeah, it's right outside their bedroom.
- 41:49Like maybe 5 10 ft from the bedroom.
- 41:52Okay.
- 41:54Like 10 ft, I guess, cuz it's like you
- 41:56have to walk around the corner and over
- 41:57to it.
- 42:01Okay, he he just starts taking off the
- 42:04um
- 42:05cushions?
- 42:05Yeah. He was just cuz there's one of
- 42:07those couches that has the base
- 42:08cushions, and then it's got a whole
- 42:09bunch of like throw pillows on it.
- 42:11So he picked up her phone and it wasn't
- 42:13on.
- 42:15Okay.
- 42:18And then I at that point, cuz I called
- 42:21her mom and I called Cassie. We were all
- 42:22on the phone together and they were on
- 42:23speaker.
- 42:24So, they heard everything that was going
- 42:25on and everything that was being said.
- 42:27And the police
- 42:28As as you're walking through the house?
- 42:29Yeah, cuz her mom was saying like, "Look
- 42:31here. Like, see if this is here." And
- 42:32I'm like, "Sandy, calm down. Let's first
- 42:34see if she's in the house."
- 42:36So, um
- 42:37we found her phone and Chris turned it
- 42:40on. The police officer asked him to turn
- 42:42it on. So, they turned it on and then it
- 42:44needed a code. I didn't know the code,
- 42:46but Cassie knew the code. It was the
- 42:48baby's um due date.
- 42:50Okay.
- 42:51So, we put that in and then the last
- 42:53text and call that she had made was to
- 42:56Chris.
- 42:57Cuz they I don't know. They popped on
- 42:59it. He started doing stuff to it, Chris
- 43:01did.
- 43:02Shannan's phone is an iPhone. I can't
- 43:03run iPhones. Like, I just Yeah.
- 43:05Did Did you happen to see what time that
- 43:06last text was?
- 43:08I don't. I didn't I mean, then I don't
- 43:10know if it was a text it was just like
- 43:11on the call log or whatever. I'm pretty
- 43:13sure it said I don't know even if it
- 43:15said Chris. I just know it started to
- 43:16see it could have said Cassie. Whoever
- 43:18texted her last, I don't know.
- 43:22Um
- 43:24So, then
- 43:27I walked away from the phone. I went
- 43:29downstairs because Sandy was like,
- 43:30"Nikki, go look and see if the girls'
- 43:32meds are there." Because Cece, the
- 43:343-year-old, well, Bella, too, but not as
- 43:35bad as Cece.
- 43:37They both have asthma.
- 43:38But, Cece's allergic really allergic
- 43:40like EpiPen anaphylactic shock allergic
- 43:43to tree nuts. So, Shannan always carries
- 43:46those stuff on her like their inhalers,
- 43:48their EpiPens, and stuff like that.
- 43:50So, her mom said, "Go see if you can
- 43:52find the girls' medicine."
- 43:54So, I went downstairs and I looked in
- 43:56the cupboard where I knew the medicine
- 43:57was
- 43:58and I didn't see it and I didn't even
- 43:59notice it till like a couple times
- 44:01passing or whatever. The thing that she
- 44:03carries them in it was on the counter,
- 44:05but it was under the cupboard and it was
- 44:06like back in the corner and I just like
- 44:08I don't know.
- 44:09Franticness wasn't paying attention, but
- 44:11it was there. So, she did not have the
- 44:13girls' meds with her.
- 44:15And then, because we found the phone,
- 44:17she was like, "Is her purse there?" And
- 44:18I'm like, "I don't see it anywhere." So,
- 44:19then I started rummaging through the
- 44:21house trying to find her purse and I
- 44:22didn't find it, didn't find it.
- 44:25Um and I'm like, "No, her purse isn't
- 44:26here." I was like, "So, maybe she did go
- 44:28somewhere with the girls." Like thinking
- 44:29that she did. And then
- 44:32um
- 44:33it was odd to me because there was two
- 44:35there's a pair of Cece shoes right there
- 44:37set outside their shoe closet.
- 44:39And then there was a pair of shoes right
- 44:41by the back door. I think they were
- 44:43Bella's. And then for whatever reason,
- 44:45there was two pairs of shoes of the
- 44:46girls' shoes out on the back porch
- 44:50on a chair.
- 44:51And I mean, Shannan
- 44:54the girls have a blanket out and she's a
- 44:56dirty and picks up after them. I mean,
- 44:58they very rarely have stuff scattered
- 45:00everywhere.
- 45:02Uh so, I found that to be odd, but I'm
- 45:03like, "Oh, maybe
- 45:05Cece wouldn't pick what shoe she was on
- 45:06and she was in a hurry cuz she needed to
- 45:08get up and go. I don't know."
- 45:10So, those were out and then
- 45:12we went over to the neighbor's house
- 45:15because he said
- 45:18the cop had asked questions. I couldn't
- 45:19tell you like at that point I wasn't
- 45:21really paying attention. I was trying to
- 45:22like look for things that her mom was
- 45:24asking me to look for.
- 45:26Um she asked me to check the knives. I'm
- 45:28like, "No, all the knives are here on
- 45:30the counter like the butcher block or
- 45:31whatever."
- 45:33Um she asked me to go down in the
- 45:35basement and look just to make sure. I
- 45:37went downstairs.
- 45:38Um stuff like I mean, she was like
- 45:40telling me cuz she lived there. She's
- 45:42like, "Did you check her shoe closet?"
- 45:43She has this amazing shoe closet in her
- 45:45office that her dad built her. Sorry.
- 45:48Um but I was like, "I Sandy, like
- 45:51they're not here. I don't know what to
- 45:52say. They're not here."
- 45:55Then the At some point the neighbor said
- 45:57he has security cameras that face the
- 45:59driveway.
- 46:02And he said there's that only picks up
- 46:04motion.
- 46:05So, he has a time clocked of when I
- 46:07dropped her off and when I left.
- 46:10But it doesn't show Sh- Sh- Shannan
- 46:11getting out of my car and she got out of
- 46:13my car and got her luggage and then went
- 46:15up to the house. And I backed up but I
- 46:17sat there for a second to make sure she
- 46:19made it in the house and shut the door
- 46:21and everything was fine. I can confirm
- 46:22she was in the house.
- 46:24Um
- 46:24And she went in through the front door.
- 46:26Mhm.
- 46:26Okay.
- 46:27So, yeah. And I don't know if she
- 46:28flipped the lock after I don't know. But
- 46:30she did go through the front door.
- 46:32And then
- 46:33um
- 46:35he has he had security camera of that
- 46:37and then he had security camera of
- 46:39Chris
- 46:41backing up his work truck to their
- 46:42garage at 5:18 in the morning and
- 46:45loading something up in it.
- 46:49And that's when my mind went bad, like
- 46:51really bad because
- 46:53what would he be loading up at 5:18 in
- 46:55the morning and Shannan yells at him and
- 46:57he doesn't go out the garage because the
- 46:58garage is right below the the girls'
- 47:01bedroom and it would wake them up.
- 47:04He always went to and from the front
- 47:06door as far as I know.
- 47:10Okay.
- 47:11I assume the police took that video.
- 47:14I think they got it today. I went back
- 47:16over cuz I talked to Fox 31 just doing a
- 47:19plea like if you're out there, please
- 47:21come home. Please contact somebody.
- 47:24Um and they were there about the the
- 47:26neighbors said they asked him for the
- 47:27surveillance if they could call he could
- 47:29call his for whatever and it's not
- 47:31insurance. Security system but I sent it
- 47:33the video so they were doing.
- 47:35And they were there with a canine unit,
- 47:37too. So.
- 47:38Okay.
- 47:39Um
- 47:39I mean in this whole time I'm trying to
- 47:41be as cordial to Chris as possible but I
- 47:44like
- 47:46I don't know.
- 47:47I think you said several times that you
- 47:48your mind went to a bad place or
- 47:50something to that effect.
- 47:51Because her purse Well, then we found
- 47:53her purse. So, then after we saw the
- 47:54videos we go back in the house and I
- 47:56found her purse right inside the door of
- 47:57her office. And I had went in her office
- 47:59several times. I just It was like tucked
- 48:01right there by the door. I just walked
- 48:03past
- 48:03Was it behind the door?
- 48:04No, it was like right next to the door,
- 48:06like
- 48:07door was open, and then on the opposite
- 48:09side, it was sitting right inside the
- 48:10door.
- 48:12So, did it appear like somebody was
- 48:13trying to hide it, or you just didn't
- 48:15No, I think she just like somebody set
- 48:16it right inside the door as they were
- 48:18walking by or whatever.
- 48:20So,
- 48:24like I don't know. He's never made me
- 48:27think that he would do anything bad or
- 48:29done anything to make me assume that,
- 48:31but
- 48:32Shanann wouldn't leave her phone. She
- 48:34wouldn't leave her car. She wouldn't
- 48:35leave without the kids' meds. Like, and
- 48:37I'm just like, "Chris, you were the last
- 48:39one to saw her. Where is she?"
- 48:42That was one thing I was going to ask
- 48:43you about. So, that this EpiPen that she
- 48:45carries for Cece, does she go anywhere
- 48:47without that?
- 48:48That I don't know, but I mean, I'm sure
- 48:50the school has them, and but she had
- 48:52like I I don't know how I just know that
- 48:55she carries it on her if she's going to
- 48:56go somewhere where
- 48:58there might be an issue.
- 48:59Yeah.
- 49:00I don't know if they have one in the
- 49:01car. Like, I don't know to that extent,
- 49:03but I know like when she travels, she
- 49:05has a little case that has all of their
- 49:07inhalers and an EpiPen and all of that
- 49:08in it.
- 49:10So, and she just got back from North
- 49:12Carolina. So, in her office, on her
- 49:13desk, there's bags of all different
- 49:15kinds of medications that the girls
- 49:17take, like, you know, Tylenol,
- 49:18ibuprofen, Motrin,
- 49:21allergy medicine, and whatever I don't
- 49:23know what they're prescribed to. So,
- 49:24whatever it was, it was all still in
- 49:25baggies.
- 49:26Okay.
- 49:27So, my thought is if you were going to
- 49:29leave your husband,
- 49:30why not pick up the baggies that are
- 49:32already packed and take them with you?
- 49:34But all of their luggage was there, too.
- 49:36That was the other thing. She bought the
- 49:37girls special luggage to go to North
- 49:39Carolina. Like, if you were going to
- 49:40leave, why wouldn't you pack up the
- 49:41clothes and take it?
- 49:44Okay. So, did Shanann ever say anything
- 49:47to you about their relationship?
- 49:50So, the week they were in North Carolina
- 49:53and I can show you texts that she sent
- 49:55me.
- 49:55She said
- 49:57I think it was the second or third week
- 50:00she was there and there's posts all over
- 50:02Facebook about it, too. She got in a
- 50:04fight with Chris's mom
- 50:06because she went to Chris's mom's house
- 50:08to visit and um
- 50:11the grand I think her name is Cindy.
- 50:13The other grandkids were there and they
- 50:15were older. Cindy bought ice cream that
- 50:17has everything Cece's allergic to in it.
- 50:20So, Shanann asked and this is just
- 50:23hearsay, I don't know. Shanann asked
- 50:25Cindy, "Please do not give this to the
- 50:27other grandkids until I get Cece to bed
- 50:30because she's not going to understand
- 50:31and she cannot have it."
- 50:33And she took it and put it back in the
- 50:35fridge and then I guess Cece went and
- 50:37got it and then Shanann like put it took
- 50:39her to bed because I mean she's so sick
- 50:41like you eat peanut or not peanuts but
- 50:43cashews and kiss her, she could go into
- 50:44shock. That's how severe it is.
- 50:47So, um
- 50:50they argued or whatever. Shanann went
- 50:52back to her parents' house the next day
- 50:54and as far as I know, she did not go
- 50:55back and see his parents. But they
- 50:57celebrated Cece's birthday while they
- 50:59were down there cuz she turned three in
- 51:00July and the parents did not come to
- 51:02Cece's birthday. Okay.
- 51:06So, I know there was like a falling out
- 51:08between Shanann and Chris's parents and
- 51:10then
- 51:11she called Chris and told Chris what was
- 51:13going on. So, apparently there was
- 51:15some issues with her and Chris.
- 51:17Um
- 51:21and the whole thing, I don't know. And
- 51:22then I was told that Chris went and saw
- 51:23his mom and dad while he was there and
- 51:25spent the whole day there. And
- 51:28Shanann's mom, Sandy, and Shanann both
- 51:30said that Chris was not himself when he
- 51:32came back.
- 51:34And then like I knew something was up
- 51:37because of Facebook.
- 51:38I didn't ask. I figured she'd tell me
- 51:40when she got back or whatever. I mean,
- 51:41we texted a couple of times, but she was
- 51:43on vacation spending time with her
- 51:44family.
- 51:45Um
- 51:47she didn't post pictures of her and
- 51:48Chris that week. Like, I don't know,
- 51:50they hadn't seen each other for 5 weeks,
- 51:52so
- 51:53it was a little odd that they weren't in
- 51:54pictures together or being lovey-dovey
- 51:56or whatever.
- 51:58So, I didn't say anything. I just found
- 52:00it to be odd. There wasn't any pictures
- 52:01of Shannan, either, and Shannan takes
- 52:03selfies all the time.
- 52:05Okay.
- 52:06Like, it's an every morning ritual of
- 52:08the selfie and you point to your DFT cuz
- 52:10you're trying to promote it type thing.
- 52:12There wasn't pictures of her very much
- 52:14that week, either.
- 52:15So, and my gut She texted me in I don't
- 52:19know She texted me I'd have to look back
- 52:20at them. She either texted me or she I'm
- 52:22pretty sure she called texted me. I
- 52:24don't She called me I think like once,
- 52:25but she really couldn't talk. She was
- 52:27not herself all the time.
- 52:28And
- 52:30I can pull it back up if you want me to.
- 52:32I mean, it was a couple weeks ago, but I
- 52:33save all my texts.
- 52:35I put them in my heart cuz they were
- 52:36some important texts that were
- 52:37important.
- 52:38Um
- 52:40she's basically just said that things
- 52:42weren't she didn't know what's going on.
- 52:43He was acting weird. She hadn't seen him
- 52:45in 5 weeks. He wasn't touching her. He
- 52:47wasn't They weren't cuddling. He wasn't
- 52:49holding her hand. Like, he wasn't
- 52:51sleeping in the same bed with her, which
- 52:53I find that really odd. You know.
- 52:55So, is that all of that
- 52:57That was prior Yeah.
- 52:58All that's new. So, so prior to this
- 53:01Well, before before prior to North
- 53:02Carolina, like not to give you intimate
- 53:05details, she said that they were like
- 53:07screwing like rabbits and he couldn't
- 53:09get enough of her and
- 53:10they were doing it in the pantry where
- 53:13the girls were in the other room. So, to
- 53:14go from that extreme to I don't want to
- 53:16touch you
- 53:18is odd.
- 53:19Okay.
- 53:19So, prior to the North Carolina trip
- 53:22there was no indication from
- 53:24No, I went on a trip with them.
- 53:26that their relationship was on the rocks
- 53:28or anything like that.
- 53:29No.
- 53:30Right before she left for North
- 53:32Carolina, I was in San Diego with her
- 53:34and Chris for we won a trip through
- 53:36Le-Vel.
- 53:37We were all on a trip, a paid trip by
- 53:40them to just enjoy San Diego. So, I was
- 53:42with them for 4 days right before she
- 53:43left for North Carolina.
- 53:46So.
- 53:46And how were they then?
- 53:47Lovey-dovey, taking pictures together. I
- 53:49have tons of pictures of them together
- 53:51on my phone, so I mean
- 53:54Yeah.
- 53:54Yeah.
- 53:56Um
- 53:57I don't even know where I was in the
- 53:58conversation of what you asked me last.
- 54:02Um
- 54:04Oh, so they had the falling out. So,
- 54:06Chris was acting weird and then she
- 54:08texted me and said things were bad and
- 54:10that she didn't know what she did or or
- 54:13what was going on with Chris and she
- 54:14thought it that it was his parents and
- 54:17the only other time he's ever acted like
- 54:18this in the marriage was right after
- 54:20they got married
- 54:21and it was because his parents didn't go
- 54:23to their wedding.
- 54:26And that he
- 54:26So, his parents not like her?
- 54:28No, they do not like her. Yeah, they do
- 54:30not like her. His parents do not.
- 54:32Do you know the reason for that?
- 54:33Um I don't per se. Like I've met the
- 54:37parents like in passing. I've never
- 54:38spent time with them. I just I don't
- 54:40know.
- 54:41She can be bossy.
- 54:43I but in a good way.
- 54:45I mean, it's not like I've teased her
- 54:47because I'm like, "You're so bossy." But
- 54:48it's she's trying to like push you to do
- 54:51good things and like motivate you. It's
- 54:53not like a
- 54:55[ __ ] bossy. I don't know.
- 54:57I mean, I don't know what she's like
- 54:58with Chris Chris when I'm not there, so.
- 55:01Um but yeah, she told me through text.
- 55:03She's like, "Girl, I'm going to need you
- 55:04more than ever when I get home." She's
- 55:06like, "I don't know I don't know what's
- 55:07going on wrong. I don't know what I did.
- 55:09I don't know what I didn't do."
- 55:10basically.
- 55:12And I was like, "Okay, like I'll come
- 55:13over. We can talk. Whatever."
- 55:15Um
- 55:16and
- 55:18I was supposed to watch the girls when
- 55:19they got back because they had the
- 55:21ultrasound
- 55:22video of the baby to find out what they
- 55:25were having cuz the next weekend when we
- 55:26got back from Arizona, which would be
- 55:28this weekend, we were supposed to do a
- 55:29gender reveal party for them.
- 55:32Um
- 55:33so, they flew in Tuesday night late and
- 55:36I was over at their house um
- 55:38Wednesday night before we left.
- 55:42Um I went over and watched the girls
- 55:43play with them, paint their nails, that
- 55:46kind of thing. Hung out with them while
- 55:47my mom and dad went But Chris was really
- 55:49weird when he came home that night. He
- 55:50did not say hi to me. He did not
- 55:52acknowledge me at all, which is not
- 55:53normal for him. He'll like give a hug or
- 55:56he'll acknowledge that you're there.
- 55:57He'll say, "Hey, how you doing?"
- 55:58whatever and then he'll go on and his
- 55:59merry way and do whatever. He did not
- 56:01talk to me at all that night.
- 56:02That was Wednesday night?
- 56:03Yeah.
- 56:04Okay, that would have been
- 56:05the And I mean they were they were in a
- 56:06hurry or whatnot, but
- 56:09cuz they had to he was running late, so
- 56:11I literally got there when he got there
- 56:12and we like bypassed, but he didn't say
- 56:14anything and he seemed really like
- 56:17uh uptight.
- 56:18Would be a good way to put it.
- 56:19Good.
- 56:20So they leave and go to the doctor's
- 56:21appointment and then they come back and
- 56:23she gives me the envelope to of what the
- 56:26baby was going to be.
- 56:28And I said, "Okay, I will
- 56:31we'll find out in a week." Like and she
- 56:32was like and then I started Oh, she's
- 56:34like, "Don't open it in my house." And I
- 56:36was like, "Fine, I'll wait till I get to
- 56:37my car."
- 56:40So I go home and then she texts me that
- 56:43night and she said
- 56:50Um
- 56:52People are calling on my phone.
- 56:56I can tell you I have not had so many
- 56:58text messages, phone calls, and
- 57:00messengers on Facebook ever in my life.
- 57:02I'm sure.
- 57:05I can not want to be a celebrity at all.
- 57:09I left a job because my phone blew up
- 57:11all the time.
- 57:14Um let's see. Since I was with her most
- 57:17of the weekend
- 57:24And how did she seem over the weekend?
- 57:25Did she seem
- 57:27fine?
- 57:27She was no, this week last weekend she
- 57:29was not her normal self. She was very
- 57:31down. She's constantly like
- 57:33second-guessing how she was talking to
- 57:35people because she didn't want to be
- 57:39I guess [ __ ] I'm not sure. Chris and
- 57:41her had a conversation I guess Thursday
- 57:43night. I I guess I'll get to that in a
- 57:44second.
- 57:45Um
- 57:46Sorry to interrupt.
- 57:47No, you're okay.
- 57:48Um
- 57:52So
- 58:03So they go and come back and while they
- 58:05were gone they asked how she was doing
- 58:07and I showed pictures of her pictures of
- 58:08the girls.
- 58:10And I was like, "Oh my god, this is
- 58:12going to be so hard not to like tell her
- 58:15what it was once I found out."
- 58:18And then she text me that night at um
- 58:21I text her at 9:46 and cuz I knew by
- 58:23then. I said, "Oh my god, this is going
- 58:25to be so hard." She text me at 9:55 or
- 58:27yeah, 9:55 on Wednesday
- 58:30and said,
- 58:31"Chris said we're not compatible
- 58:32anymore. He refuses to hug me. Said he
- 58:34thought another baby would fix the his
- 58:36feelings. Said he refused couples
- 58:38counseling."
- 58:41So no gender reveal.
- 58:44So she canceled the gender reveal the
- 58:46party.
- 58:47Yeah, so that's
- 58:48Wednesday night.
- 58:49Wednesday.
- 58:50So that would have been the
- 58:5115th night.
- 58:53I think so. It would have been the 8th.
- 58:558th.
- 59:09So then I text him back and said,
- 59:12"Um
- 59:15what? I don't understand. What What What
- 59:18does he want to do then?" And she said,
- 59:19"No gender reveal." She's like, "I'm
- 59:21putting my friends thoughts. I don't
- 59:23want to fake a happy Chris."
- 59:27I was like or I'm putting my friends
- 59:29I'm not putting my friends through a
- 59:31fake happy Chris.
- 59:33And then again I said cuz it wasn't
- 59:34coming out. It says con gender reveal. I
- 59:36was like, is she trying to say no gender
- 59:37reveal? So I was like, so no gender
- 59:39reveal question mark? And she said no.
- 59:41And then me and another girl was doing
- 59:42it. I said, do you want me to tell
- 59:43Taylor? Do you want to? And she asked me
- 59:45to tell Taylor. So then I later texted
- 59:47Taylor.
- 59:48And then I said, okay.
- 59:49And she's all, he doesn't care that he's
- 59:51hurting me.
- 59:53And I said, what does he want you guys
- 59:55to do? And she's like, he's done. He
- 59:57said he will work it out. How do you
- 59:59work that out? I was like, what does
- 1:00:01that mean? Cuz I didn't know. I was
- 1:00:03like, what does that mean? I'll work it
- 1:00:04out. That's what Chris said to her.
- 1:00:06I said, you don't
- 1:00:09you don't work that out if you're not
- 1:00:10willing to work on it.
- 1:00:12And then she said, can you tell me what
- 1:00:14I'm having? I need some happy news,
- 1:00:16please. And I said, yes, I can. Are you
- 1:00:18sure? She was like, yes.
- 1:00:20And uh she's like, I'm not telling
- 1:00:21anyone though, not even Chris. I said,
- 1:00:23can I come tell you in the morning? I
- 1:00:24really like to tell you this kind of
- 1:00:25news in person and not through text.
- 1:00:29I didn't say not through text, but I
- 1:00:30said I'd really like to tell you in
- 1:00:31person. And she said, sure. I said, or I
- 1:00:32can come tonight and tell you like right
- 1:00:34now. And she's like, no, it's okay.
- 1:00:36I said, are you sure? I will.
- 1:00:38Cuz by this time I was texting it's a
- 1:00:39little after 10:00.
- 1:00:41And then
- 1:00:43I was like, I just want to see your
- 1:00:44face. She's like, it's okay. I'm still
- 1:00:46crying right now. So I'll wait until
- 1:00:49a.m.
- 1:00:51And I said, I can come over now. She's
- 1:00:52like, no, it's okay. I'll wait.
- 1:00:54And I don't know if you want to know the
- 1:00:55next message, but she said I might go
- 1:00:57masturbate to relieve stress.
- 1:01:01So um you know.
- 1:01:04And then
- 1:01:06she I talked to her by that point cuz
- 1:01:09this next isn't till Thursday afternoon.
- 1:01:12So
- 1:01:13I did go over the next morning. Um
- 1:01:15we were supposed to leave well obviously
- 1:01:17the next day, so everything was
- 1:01:18whatever. But I went to Walmart and I
- 1:01:20got some stuff for the baby and I got
- 1:01:22him these champagne poppers. So they if
- 1:01:24they did decide to do it, like they'd be
- 1:01:26exciting for whoever did it, whether it
- 1:01:28was her and the girls or her and Chris
- 1:01:29or whatever. There was, you know,
- 1:01:31they're going to have a baby.
- 1:01:33Um
- 1:01:34and they were having a little boy.
- 1:01:36They are having a little boy.
- 1:01:40Um
- 1:01:42and she asked him if and I took her to
- 1:01:44her house and said like it was in a
- 1:01:46little bag or whatever and I said here,
- 1:01:48if Chris wants to do this with you or
- 1:01:50whatever and she said he wanted to wait
- 1:01:52to find out with her that night.
- 1:01:55So I gave her the bag and I stayed for a
- 1:01:57little bit and then because she was
- 1:01:59trying to like appease him or make him
- 1:02:01feel better or whatever, she wanted me
- 1:02:03to put the ball in the backyard and I
- 1:02:04was like, "Shannon, you're not mowing
- 1:02:05the backyard. It's like 80° outside."
- 1:02:07She's like, "I just need you to help me
- 1:02:08get it down the rocks or whatever." So I
- 1:02:10ended up mowing her backyard for her
- 1:02:11before I left because I'm like, "I'm not
- 1:02:13going to let you mow the damn backyard.
- 1:02:16I'm just not."
- 1:02:18Um
- 1:02:19so
- 1:02:20I mowed her yard and then I went home
- 1:02:22and did my stuff and I talked to her.
- 1:02:25Um she said what if cuz her anniversary
- 1:02:27with him, like their dating anniversary,
- 1:02:29I think was the next day
- 1:02:31on Thursday.
- 1:02:33So she's like, "Do you think
- 1:02:35I should ask him to go away so we can
- 1:02:37work on things while I was there?" And I
- 1:02:38was like, "I mean, you could. I mean, I
- 1:02:41I don't know what he's willing to do."
- 1:02:43So she did text him and
- 1:02:48um
- 1:02:50she texted him and asked him if he was
- 1:02:52willing to go away. So then she started
- 1:02:53sending me all these Groupon's and asked
- 1:02:55me like where they could go and I'm
- 1:02:56like, "Well, you could go up to Glenwood
- 1:02:57cuz it not far you want to drive." So we
- 1:02:59were discussing that.
- 1:03:01Um so she's texting me all those
- 1:03:03Groupon's
- 1:03:04and stuff.
- 1:03:06Um
- 1:03:10And then she asked me about when I
- 1:03:11worked because she was trying to find
- 1:03:12someone to watch the girls so they could
- 1:03:13go.
- 1:03:16Um
- 1:03:18and then we stopped texting at like
- 1:03:2011:00 that night cuz I was here at work
- 1:03:23and she asked if I worked on the 17th
- 1:03:25and I said yes.
- 1:03:27And then I was like {question mark} and
- 1:03:28she said nothing and I was like it's not
- 1:03:29nothing if you're asking what's up. Like
- 1:03:31she usually doesn't ask if when I'm
- 1:03:33working cuz there's usually just
- 1:03:33something, you know.
- 1:03:35And then she texted me
- 1:03:38at 3:29 and said she was up and showered
- 1:03:40and I said I was counting down the
- 1:03:41minutes and wishing that I had a shower
- 1:03:44cuz I've been here all night.
- 1:03:46Um and then she said text me when you
- 1:03:47leave
- 1:03:49and
- 1:03:50I said I'll well when I get out to the
- 1:03:52parking lot I have to change.
- 1:03:54And then I texted her I was on my way
- 1:03:56and then I picked her up I mean and then
- 1:03:57we went to the airport.
- 1:03:59So.
- 1:04:01And I didn't see Chris that morning. I
- 1:04:02didn't see the girls. But she was off
- 1:04:05all weekend. I mean we were constantly
- 1:04:06telling her like eat Shannan. I carried
- 1:04:08a bottle of water bottle with me all
- 1:04:10weekend and I was constantly giving it
- 1:04:11to her telling her to drink cuz she kept
- 1:04:13saying she had a headache.
- 1:04:14And Nancy that was with us was a nurse.
- 1:04:16So we're both like you know taking care
- 1:04:19of her cuz that's our nature and
- 1:04:21she would take a couple bites of food
- 1:04:23and wouldn't eat them and then normally
- 1:04:25like I mean and I know she's 15 weeks
- 1:04:27pregnant but normally we'd like go and
- 1:04:28do something. We didn't go out. We
- 1:04:29stayed at the hotel the whole weekend. I
- 1:04:31mean except for going to dinner. We'd go
- 1:04:32to dinner and come back.
- 1:04:34So.
- 1:04:35I mean even the whole last day we were
- 1:04:37there the whole point of us staying
- 1:04:39there the last day was to like go see
- 1:04:41Arizona or explore in Scottsdale. We I
- 1:04:44sat in the hotel room.
- 1:04:45Not the hotel room but in the hotel
- 1:04:47lobby
- 1:04:48cuz we had to be out of our room by
- 1:04:4911:00 and our flight wasn't till 8:45
- 1:04:51that night. So
- 1:04:52we didn't go we sat there cuz Shannan
- 1:04:55was
- 1:04:56on the way there she got Chris a book to
- 1:04:59try and help. She ordered a book and
- 1:05:01then she downloaded it on her phone so
- 1:05:02she could listen to it. We listened to
- 1:05:04it on the plane together on the way
- 1:05:05there and then she was listening to it
- 1:05:06the majority of the weekend and she was
- 1:05:09picking out like how the book related to
- 1:05:11her and Chris and how could change these
- 1:05:13things or that things and
- 1:05:15What was the book name? Do you remember?
- 1:05:16Um
- 1:05:18I don't but I can find out for you. I
- 1:05:19know the friend that referred her to it.
- 1:05:25Do you want me to text her real quick?
- 1:05:26Yeah. Yeah, if you know it.
- 1:05:28So actually I was going to have you have
- 1:05:29you text a bunch of stuff to me.
- 1:05:31If you would, I would appreciate it.
- 1:05:34Can I have a separate piece of paper for
- 1:05:36this?
- 1:05:36Yeah.
- 1:05:41And I know I asked the detective what
- 1:05:43his name was but I don't remember it. I
- 1:05:45wasn't trying to be nonchalant or
- 1:05:46whatever. I just I've talked to so many
- 1:05:49people.
- 1:05:50I'm sure.
- 1:05:50I was like I just I need to go to work.
- 1:05:52Sure.
- 1:05:53You just got to be for a little bit.
- 1:05:55Okay. So what did you want?
- 1:05:56All right. So let's see. Let's start
- 1:05:57Let's go in reverse order. So the text
- 1:05:59string that you had with her on the 8th
- 1:06:02of August starting at about 9:55 where
- 1:06:04she talks about him he he says he's not
- 1:06:07compatible and he's done.
- 1:06:09Okay.
- 1:06:09Will you send me that that text string?
- 1:06:11Yeah.
- 1:06:16Um let's see.
- 1:06:18And then
- 1:06:19I'll give you other people's information
- 1:06:21cuz like Cassie I don't know if they
- 1:06:22were in text messages or not but Chris
- 1:06:23told her she didn't want the baby.
- 1:06:26He did?
- 1:06:27Mhm.
- 1:06:27Yeah. If you'll put them
- 1:06:30I can write down everybody's
- 1:06:31information.
- 1:06:31Yeah. So you write down Cassie and uh
- 1:06:34and uh Christina as well.
- 1:06:38And if you'll do the photograph of these
- 1:06:40shoes.
- 1:06:42Okay.
- 1:06:46And I don't know why I took a picture of
- 1:06:47the shoes. I really don't. It's just
- 1:06:50like when I was walking through the
- 1:06:51house I'm like well that's odd. That's
- 1:06:53odd because like to me like I don't
- 1:06:55understand why the police officer let us
- 1:06:57go in the house.
- 1:06:58Yeah. Well I mean at that point it's
- 1:07:01still at this point where it's still a
- 1:07:03missing person.
- 1:07:04Right. But like he let us touch things
- 1:07:06and go through things and that's where
- 1:07:07I'm like, I don't know. I've watched a
- 1:07:09lot of crime shows.
- 1:07:11Right. I understand.
- 1:07:21Um if you could do the the few texts
- 1:07:23that you sent her on
- 1:07:25The day of?
- 1:07:25The morning. Yeah, the morning that she
- 1:07:27was supposed to go to the doctor's
- 1:07:28office.
- 1:07:29Which is the 12th?
- 1:07:30The 12th, yeah.
- 1:07:31Okay.
- 1:07:31Like you said, you sent um
- 1:07:33several texts that morning. If you could
- 1:07:35do the Could you send me screenshots of
- 1:07:36those, too?
- 1:07:49And Chris is in corresponding like with
- 1:07:51all of us over the week. Like, there's
- 1:07:53like five or six of us, but
- 1:07:54Has been?
- 1:07:55Yeah. So, I'll give you all of their
- 1:07:57numbers.
- 1:07:58Yeah, if you would, that would be great.
- 1:07:59Well, he wasn't really corresponding
- 1:08:00with me, but I he talks Cassie's
- 1:08:02husband, Josh. I'll just put Cassie and
- 1:08:04Josh. He confides in Josh.
- 1:08:06Okay.
- 1:08:07Are they good friends?
- 1:08:09They met through Thrive, but like on all
- 1:08:11the trips we go on, they hang out
- 1:08:12together, and then Cassie came out to
- 1:08:14visit and they stayed at their house.
- 1:08:15Okay.
- 1:08:16I mean, they're bros.
- 1:08:17Okay.
- 1:08:19Okay.
- 1:08:43So, is she still considered a missing
- 1:08:45person?
- 1:08:45At this point,
- 1:08:47I don't know if anything's happened
- 1:08:48since I've been talking to you, but
- 1:08:49Well, cuz the lady that called me, she's
- 1:08:51like, we have some more evidence. We
- 1:08:53need to talk to you. And I was like,
- 1:08:55okay.
- 1:08:56Yeah, well, that was just a
- 1:08:57clarification thing.
- 1:09:07Do you need to know where they're at so
- 1:09:08when you call they're up?
- 1:09:12Oh, some of them are in Hawaii, you
- 1:09:13mean?
- 1:09:14Yeah, like Kristina's in Hawaii and
- 1:09:16Abby's on the East Coast.
- 1:09:20Eastern and she's in Arizona.
- 1:09:35Did you happen to take pictures anywhere
- 1:09:36else on the inside of the house?
- 1:09:38look. I I just I don't know why these
- 1:09:39shoes stick out to me. Probably cuz she
- 1:09:41wore them a lot of times.
- 1:09:42She's like, "You should buy these
- 1:09:44shoes."
- 1:09:45Do you You have your mom's number?
- 1:09:47Uh go ahead and give it to me. I'm sure
- 1:09:48we got it somewhere, but
- 1:09:50I'm sure we got that.
- 1:10:10Why can I ask a question?
- 1:10:12She's a missing person and she has two
- 1:10:14children.
- 1:10:15Why haven't they issued Amber Alerts for
- 1:10:17them?
- 1:10:18Well, with an Amber Alert, there has to
- 1:10:20be
- 1:10:21um specific actionable re- information
- 1:10:25like uh they were seen with this person
- 1:10:27and that person and presents a uh
- 1:10:29um
- 1:10:30possibility of bodily injury or death to
- 1:10:32them.
- 1:10:33And since we don't have any at this
- 1:10:36point an indication that they've been
- 1:10:38actually kidnapped or anything like
- 1:10:39that, that's the reason there hasn't
- 1:10:41been an actual Amber Alert. It doesn't
- 1:10:43mean that we It doesn't It can't evolve
- 1:10:45into that,
- 1:10:47but um
- 1:10:48if we just If we just issue Amber on
- 1:10:51missing people all the time,
- 1:10:52Right.
- 1:10:53it loses its effectiveness.
- 1:10:57Okay. Then then you want
- 1:11:01I was going to ask you any indication of
- 1:11:03infidelity on either part either party?
- 1:11:06So,
- 1:11:07this weekend, this is one of the things
- 1:11:08that happened this weekend. Chris said
- 1:11:11he went to a Rockies game on Saturday
- 1:11:13night.
- 1:11:14Who'd he go with, you know?
- 1:11:15People from his work, I have no idea.
- 1:11:17That's just he works there.
- 1:11:19He went to a Rockies game on Saturday
- 1:11:20night. So, um they got a babysitter
- 1:11:24for the girls and Shannon was texting
- 1:11:26with the babysitter to check on the
- 1:11:28girls throughout the night.
- 1:11:29Um
- 1:11:31but we were in Arizona, so they're an
- 1:11:32hour It's an hour difference, right?
- 1:11:34Mhm.
- 1:11:35An hour later.
- 1:11:36Um
- 1:11:37Chris wasn't home
- 1:11:38by like 9:00, which she thought was odd
- 1:11:40cuz it was an afternoon ballgame.
- 1:11:42And then she checked her bank statement
- 1:11:44and he'd went out to dinner, which
- 1:11:45that's not odd, but the total was $67.
- 1:11:49And she's like,
- 1:11:50"Why would he spend $67 at dinner?" And
- 1:11:52I'm like, "Maybe he had some beers, I
- 1:11:53don't know."
- 1:11:54Do you remember where that was?
- 1:11:55The Lazy Dog in Westminster.
- 1:11:58Off of 144th and
- 1:12:01I-25.
- 1:12:03It's um
- 1:12:04in that Orchard Shopping Center.
- 1:12:08Okay.
- 1:12:08Um
- 1:12:09so,
- 1:12:10What kind of
- 1:12:11restaurant is that?
- 1:12:13It's like a bar and grill type thing.
- 1:12:14So, you'd have to work at it to get 65
- 1:12:16bucks.
- 1:12:17Yeah. Well, that's what we were talking
- 1:12:19about cuz I'm like, "Well, we went out
- 1:12:20to dinner tonight and it was a Mexican
- 1:12:22restaurant, but it was a bar and grill
- 1:12:23type thing and I mean, I had some
- 1:12:26drinks. So, I was like, "Well, my bill
- 1:12:27was $47 tonight." She's like, "Nikki,
- 1:12:29$63, yours was 47." And it was one
- 1:12:32person. I'm like, "Well, yeah, but we
- 1:12:33didn't have appetizer and dessert." It
- 1:12:35was like, "So, maybe he like was
- 1:12:36treating himself." Trying to I don't
- 1:12:38know, trying to make her feel better cuz
- 1:12:40she was
- 1:12:41And then she called him. I don't know if
- 1:12:43she called him or texted him. I think
- 1:12:45she called him cuz me and Cassie went
- 1:12:46down to the pool and she said she called
- 1:12:48him. She said she was going to call him.
- 1:12:49So, I I know whether she actually talked
- 1:12:50to him cuz we weren't in the room. But
- 1:12:52she said that he um
- 1:12:55he wasn't home yet either. He didn't get
- 1:12:57home until 10:30, which she found that
- 1:12:59to be odd because it was well after
- 1:13:01dinner.
- 1:13:04And she knows when he gets home because
- 1:13:06her security system tells you when you
- 1:13:07open the door. All right. So, um
- 1:13:11she asked him what he had for dinner.
- 1:13:13And again, she's trying not to accuse or
- 1:13:15be snarky. So, he said, "Oh, I had some
- 1:13:16salmon and a beer." And she's like, "Oh,
- 1:13:17okay. Well, save the receipt cuz I need
- 1:13:19it for taxes." Cuz
- 1:13:21Sorry if she writes off anything.
- 1:13:23Um
- 1:13:24so, then she gets off the phone with him
- 1:13:26or whatever. When we come back, she's
- 1:13:28upset and she was like, "What did you
- 1:13:30spend that on?" And we were like, "I
- 1:13:32don't know." And she looked up the menu
- 1:13:33and he said he had salmon and a beer.
- 1:13:35And she's like, "That's only like 30
- 1:13:36bucks. Where's the other $40?" I'm like,
- 1:13:38"I I don't know, Shannon.
- 1:13:40Like, if you asked Chris to save the
- 1:13:42receipt, we'll have to look at the
- 1:13:43receipt." I was like, "Maybe he bought
- 1:13:44one of the guys dinner cuz they bought
- 1:13:46him something at the ballgame." I'm
- 1:13:47like, "Who knows?"
- 1:13:49So, then she started going through their
- 1:13:50bank statement to see if there was other
- 1:13:52any high charges while she was gone cuz
- 1:13:53they don't have that relationship where
- 1:13:55he spends whatever he wants, she spends
- 1:13:57whatever they want, the bills get paid,
- 1:13:58you know.
- 1:13:59It's like, you want something, go buy it
- 1:14:01type thing.
- 1:14:02So, there was that. And then he the
- 1:14:04conversations the phone call
- 1:14:06conversations were very small. Usually
- 1:14:08when she's on trips like that, they talk
- 1:14:09for 20, 30 minutes. She'd talk to the
- 1:14:11girls sometimes. They'll FaceTime. They
- 1:14:14weren't doing any of that. They sent
- 1:14:16pictures back and forth. There was no
- 1:14:17pictures. And there wasn't or at least I
- 1:14:19don't think there was cuz she would
- 1:14:20usually show her be like, "Oh, look at
- 1:14:21Cece or Bella doing whatever." There was
- 1:14:23none of that.
- 1:14:25And then
- 1:14:26um
- 1:14:27he let her go because he said he wanted
- 1:14:29to work out or something at
- 1:14:31whenever she talked to him last.
- 1:14:34So, she let him go. And then the next
- 1:14:37um
- 1:14:38the next day, I can't remember where she
- 1:14:40talked to him that morning or not, but
- 1:14:42it was very sparse throughout the day.
- 1:14:44He was going to take them to a birthday
- 1:14:45party of the girl that babysit, I think
- 1:14:47the brother or something. And through
- 1:14:49people commenting on Facebook and all
- 1:14:51the stuff that I've seen, he was at the
- 1:14:53birthday party.
- 1:14:54The The guy said he was at my house.
- 1:14:57And I don't even remember his name or
- 1:14:58where I saw it, but I did see that on
- 1:14:59Facebook.
- 1:15:01Um
- 1:15:02And then she texts or she called him
- 1:15:05that night when we were at the airport.
- 1:15:07And I figured she talked to him for a
- 1:15:08little bit, but it was a very short
- 1:15:09conversation. She wasn't talking. She
- 1:15:10like walked off. She's like, "Will you
- 1:15:12watch my stuff? I'm going to go talk to
- 1:15:13Chris real quick."
- 1:15:14And she came back and it couldn't have
- 1:15:15been more than 5 minutes. I was like,
- 1:15:16"Are you okay?" And she's like, "No."
- 1:15:18She's like, "I didn't talk to him all
- 1:15:20day or hardly all this weekend, and he
- 1:15:22wants to work out. He started working
- 1:15:24out while he was on the phone with me.
- 1:15:26So, I just let him go. And Chris used to
- 1:15:29work out like this all the time. I mean
- 1:15:32with Thrive, he's lost
- 1:15:3470, 80 lbs and he's gotten really fit in
- 1:15:37the last like really fit in the last 6
- 1:15:40months.
- 1:15:42Where does he work out at?
- 1:15:43In their basement.
- 1:15:45They have a
- 1:15:47Is her mom calling me?
- 1:15:52I'll call her back.
- 1:15:53Okay.
- 1:15:57So,
- 1:15:59and then we came home and she she was
- 1:16:02upset cuz she's like, "He didn't even
- 1:16:03want to talk to me." And then
- 1:16:05I did remember seeing a text from him
- 1:16:07because she texted him and told him our
- 1:16:08plane wasn't going to get in until about
- 1:16:101:32 in the morning cuz of the delay.
- 1:16:13We weren't sure cuz at that time we
- 1:16:15weren't sure. They were estimating. We
- 1:16:17were waiting for the flight for her to
- 1:16:17get there.
- 1:16:18And he said holy crap, that's late.
- 1:16:21And something else, but I remember the
- 1:16:23holy crap, that's late. And I don't I
- 1:16:25didn't see any texts after that. And I
- 1:16:27just I know Shanna was in a lot of pain
- 1:16:28on the plane in pain and a lot in the
- 1:16:30plane cuz she wouldn't sit still. She
- 1:16:31kept moving and readjusting and trying
- 1:16:34to
- 1:16:35Trying to get comfortable?
- 1:16:36Yeah.
- 1:16:37Um
- 1:16:38Do you have any knowledge about their
- 1:16:39finances? I mean, are they in debt up to
- 1:16:42their eyeballs? Were they rolling in it?
- 1:16:44Were they
- 1:16:45I would say I mean, I don't know. I
- 1:16:46collected their mail while they were in
- 1:16:48North Carolina and there was a lot of
- 1:16:50mail. I didn't go through it or
- 1:16:51whatever, but I mean, yeah, I think they
- 1:16:53were having financial issues cuz it was
- 1:16:56always
- 1:16:57she makes enough money that their
- 1:17:00daughters go to a really high-end
- 1:17:02preschool and stuff, like private
- 1:17:04school.
- 1:17:04what I just wrote down?
- 1:17:06What?
- 1:17:06Vister Ridge? Is that where they go?
- 1:17:08Okay.
- 1:17:09Vister Ridge, yeah. They go to Primrose
- 1:17:11Vister Ridge and
- 1:17:13I mean, that saved by her being in North
- 1:17:15Carolina, that was the $2,500 savings
- 1:17:17that month, so if that tells you
- 1:17:19anything. Like I work nights, so my
- 1:17:21children go to daycare 2 days a week.
- 1:17:25So.
- 1:17:26But, I mean, he works in the oil fields.
- 1:17:28He's got to make good money.
- 1:17:30I mean, I don't know. We don't talk
- 1:17:31about finances or anything, but
- 1:17:33Okay.
- 1:17:34But, your impression was that they were
- 1:17:36they had
- 1:17:38a significant amount of debt. Would that
- 1:17:39be an accurate statement?
- 1:17:41Yeah, because I know they filed
- 1:17:42bankruptcy before. She's made that
- 1:17:44statement. And I know that
- 1:17:47they have like cuz she's always very
- 1:17:50like meticulous. Not like that we don't
- 1:17:52go out to lunch several times a week or
- 1:17:53whatever, but she's like, "Well, I need
- 1:17:56to go here because it's cheaper." Or
- 1:17:58like she thinks about how she's going to
- 1:18:00make her money.
- 1:18:06So, do they go to Vister Ridge like
- 1:18:08full-time?
- 1:18:09Uh-huh.
- 1:18:11She works from home and she takes them
- 1:18:12full-time.
- 1:18:14She takes them?
- 1:18:15Mhm.
- 1:18:15Every day?
- 1:18:16Yeah, she and Nanny usually takes them
- 1:18:17every day.
- 1:18:18Okay.
- 1:18:19And is that the one in Yulee?
- 1:18:21Mhm.
- 1:18:21Okay.
- 1:18:23That was the other thing I was going to
- 1:18:24call the school and see if the girls
- 1:18:25were there. And I actually got a text
- 1:18:27message this evening from one of the
- 1:18:29parents at the school that does thrive
- 1:18:30with us. She was in Arizona with us.
- 1:18:33Um she didn't fly in and fly out the
- 1:18:35same time, but
- 1:18:36but texted me to There's so many people
- 1:18:39who text me. It's ridiculous. Um and she
- 1:18:41said that one of the other moms I have
- 1:18:43that, too. One of the other moms at the
- 1:18:44school said that
- 1:18:46they heard Chris call yesterday morning
- 1:18:48and say the girls weren't going to be
- 1:18:49there.
- 1:18:55I'm sorry. Say that again.
- 1:18:56So, Chris called the school yesterday
- 1:18:58morning.
- 1:18:58Chris called the school.
- 1:18:59And said the girls were not going to be
- 1:19:00there that day and then told them that
- 1:19:02they were separating and they were going
- 1:19:04to sell the house.
- 1:19:07Do you remember who that was?
- 1:19:08I don't have a name. I have a Max's mom,
- 1:19:10but I can give you Karen's number and
- 1:19:12call her.
- 1:19:13Yeah.
- 1:19:31Um
- 1:19:32I'm going to put friend of girls school.
- 1:19:34Okay.
- 1:19:52Okay.
- 1:19:54All right.
- 1:19:57Um
- 1:19:59anything that we haven't talked about
- 1:20:00you think we need to?
- 1:20:03Um
- 1:20:06It's funny.
- 1:20:07I was talking to Cassie on the way to
- 1:20:08work and I was like, I'm losing my mind.
- 1:20:10I don't want to forget anything. I don't
- 1:20:12want to
- 1:20:13I think she texted me and told me to
- 1:20:16list.
- 1:20:17I know that sounds horrible.
- 1:20:19I just I thought she did.
- 1:20:21Wait, you were going to check for
- 1:20:22pictures, other pictures.
- 1:20:23Oh, yeah.
- 1:20:30Oh, he told me to leave the house and
- 1:20:32everything was fine even though the car
- 1:20:34and things were still there.
- 1:20:36He did tell Yeah, he did tell me to
- 1:20:37leave the house.
- 1:20:38When was that?
- 1:20:39That was when I called him the first
- 1:20:40time. He's like, "Would you please leave
- 1:20:41and quit messing with my doors cuz I
- 1:20:42kept setting off his alarm system."
- 1:20:49He I this is hearsay, but he told Cassie
- 1:20:52to not get the police involved when he
- 1:20:53talked to her.
- 1:20:57Um
- 1:20:59Oh, he mixed up his stories with
- 1:21:00everybody. So, he told me that the girls
- 1:21:03and Shannan were on a play date.
- 1:21:05And then he told her mom his mom her mom
- 1:21:08something different. And then he also
- 1:21:10told Addy, which I gave you her number,
- 1:21:13he texted Addy something different, too.
- 1:21:15I think one of them was that she left in
- 1:21:17the middle of the night and the other
- 1:21:18one was she left that morning
- 1:21:20with the girls.
- 1:21:21Okay.
- 1:21:22Um
- 1:21:26And she said he told the girls' school
- 1:21:28that they weren't going to be there.
- 1:21:29They were separating and moving out of
- 1:21:31the house.
- 1:21:33Um Shannan wouldn't leave anything
- 1:21:35without anything, especially meds.
- 1:21:40And the other thing the house was locked
- 1:21:41up. Like, the more I think about it,
- 1:21:43there's no way she could have left that
- 1:21:44house without somebody seeing her.
- 1:21:47Like
- 1:21:48the way it was locked from the inside,
- 1:21:50if she was in that house when Chris
- 1:21:52left,
- 1:21:54she would have had to go out the garage.
- 1:21:55Mhm.
- 1:21:56Do you know what I'm saying?
- 1:21:57Yeah.
- 1:21:57So, if Chris didn't lock that house up
- 1:21:59like that before he left,
- 1:22:02she would have been noticed on the
- 1:22:04neighbor's camera.
- 1:22:06Like I
- 1:22:10Um
- 1:22:14She said Chris is being cold, not
- 1:22:16himself at all, yelling at the kids more
- 1:22:19often, and just not himself.
- 1:22:21Oh, and there because of the company he
- 1:22:23works for and he has to go to what oil
- 1:22:25wells, there's a GPS tracker on his
- 1:22:27truck.
- 1:22:27Yep.
- 1:22:28So.
- 1:22:28Where were that?
- 1:22:30Yeah, I already told him that yesterday,
- 1:22:31so.
- 1:22:32Okay.
- 1:22:33All right.
- 1:22:35So.
- 1:22:36Shoes, sorry.
- 1:22:37Yeah, shoes.
- 1:22:38Other pictures on
- 1:22:39the flight tracked?
- 1:22:40Other pictures on screen?
- 1:22:41Um, you're the
- 1:22:4438957890.
- 1:22:46That's
- 1:22:479303895
- 1:22:49584
- 1:22:505846, yep.
- 1:23:08I have a picture of a car in the garage
- 1:23:10that my son took.
- 1:23:11Okay.
- 1:23:12Yeah, that'd be good, too.
- 1:23:18Before we opened the garage.
- 1:23:21Um.
- 1:23:24Let's see. Our texts.
- 1:23:37Let me see if I do it.
- 1:23:43Oh, and I do have a screenshot of the
- 1:23:45guy who had said he was at his house.
- 1:23:47Do you want that?
- 1:23:49The guy that said he was there?
- 1:23:50Yeah.
- 1:23:50Who's that?
- 1:23:51His name's Jeremy. I can't see it, but
- 1:23:53I'll send you a picture of it.
- 1:23:55Jeremy Landstrom. He said, "Yes, I have
- 1:23:58the cops. My daughter watched the kids
- 1:24:00Saturday night and the girls were at
- 1:24:03Oh, my phone's going crazy.
- 1:24:10Um.
- 1:24:12And I don't know why, but I sent you a
- 1:24:13picture of a screenshot of a update that
- 1:24:15Amanda had sent.
- 1:24:18Um, let's see.
- 1:24:19And then you wanted to know my some
- 1:24:23You sent you the ones from
- 1:24:25that one.
- 1:24:27Which you want the ones from the day
- 1:24:28before, right?
- 1:24:29Um
- 1:24:30Or
- 1:24:30the day before we left?
- 1:24:31Yeah.
- 1:24:32The one where you talked about that they
- 1:24:33weren't compatible.
- 1:24:34Yeah.
- 1:24:35Yeah, that'd be great.
- 1:24:37If you would.
- 1:24:40Let me see.
- 1:24:53Oh, I'll redo that one. Someone just
- 1:24:55texted me.
- 1:25:39Okay.
- 1:25:42And then the book, I'll have to text
- 1:25:44Sharon and ask her about it.
- 1:25:46Okay.
- 1:25:47Yeah, that's fine.
- 1:25:49Not a big deal.
- 1:25:51Did Did she actually have it sent to
- 1:25:53him, the book?
- 1:25:54Yeah, so she downloaded it on her phone
- 1:25:56and then she had it sent by Amazon
- 1:25:58Prime. It was supposed to be delivered
- 1:25:59to the house on Friday or to the mailbox
- 1:26:01or whatever.
- 1:26:02All right. Did she ever say it was it
- 1:26:03was delivered?
- 1:26:06What?
- 1:26:06Did she ever say it was delivered?
- 1:26:08She didn't.
- 1:26:09Okay.
- 1:26:09And she said she was going to wait to
- 1:26:11ask him if he read it because she didn't
- 1:26:12want to be pushy and be like, "Have you
- 1:26:14read
- 1:26:15it?"
- 1:26:16And she told us she going to write him a
- 1:26:18letter
- 1:26:20over the weekend. Whether she did or
- 1:26:21not, there's a book that was in her
- 1:26:24purse. It's a green book and it It says
- 1:26:26like something quote on the front of it.
- 1:26:28Um
- 1:26:29so I don't know if there was a letter in
- 1:26:31there that she started to write in or if
- 1:26:33she was writing stuff down or like
- 1:26:35things she could change or she'd done
- 1:26:36wrong or whatnot, but she had that book
- 1:26:38with her all weekend. It was a notebook,
- 1:26:40like a binded notebook. It's like a mint
- 1:26:42green.
- 1:26:44And for the life of me, I can't remember
- 1:26:46what it says on it on the front of it.
- 1:26:48But she had that the whole weekend and
- 1:26:49she was writing in it off and on.
- 1:26:52So, I don't know if that
- 1:26:54But that was at the house with him, so.
- 1:26:56Okay.
- 1:27:01Like is it normal for people to do this?
- 1:27:04Nope.
- 1:27:04Okay.
- 1:27:05So, I'm not crazy to think badly.
- 1:27:08No, and and
- 1:27:13the circumstances kind of it It's hard
- 1:27:15to not go to that place.
- 1:27:16Yeah.
- 1:27:17You know, with with especially with you
- 1:27:19know, the keys, the phone, medications,
- 1:27:22the kids,
- 1:27:24um the car, you know, the kind of You
- 1:27:26kind of look at the totality of
- 1:27:27everything and it kind of starts to add
- 1:27:28up to a little bit of suspicion and
- 1:27:30that's why we're involved, the FBI is
- 1:27:32involved.
- 1:27:33So, um it's
- 1:27:36um
- 1:27:37it's definitely got our attention.
- 1:27:39And we're doing the best we can to see
- 1:27:40if we can find her and the kids.
- 1:27:42I mean, oh, today I when I was at the
- 1:27:44house, I
- 1:27:45um
- 1:27:48Give me a second.
- 1:27:50I know what I want to say. It's just not
- 1:27:51coming out.
- 1:27:52I Chris was out cuz the neighbor came
- 1:27:54over to me when I was after we talked to
- 1:27:56the reporter. He came over to me cuz it
- 1:27:58was in front of their house, like off to
- 1:27:59the side of it. Um
- 1:28:02and Chris and I actually like came out
- 1:28:03and saw the canine dogs were going in
- 1:28:05and we were going to go in the house
- 1:28:07just to check on him. Like I'm trying to
- 1:28:08be cordial cuz I don't want to think
- 1:28:10that, but in the same token
- 1:28:12I'm
- 1:28:13thinking that. Um but he's got no family
- 1:28:16here either and like I just I really
- 1:28:19don't want to think that of this person
- 1:28:20cuz I really really cared about
- 1:28:24my friend
- 1:28:26and those girls. Um
- 1:28:28but I checked on him. I was like, "Are
- 1:28:30you okay?" And the neighbor pulled me
- 1:28:32aside and said, "When you get a chance,
- 1:28:33come talk to me." And I was like,
- 1:28:34"Okay." He's like, "Why do you want to
- 1:28:35talk to me again?" And he's like, "This
- 1:28:37is weird and things are bad." I'm like,
- 1:28:39"Obviously, dude." Like,
- 1:28:40I don't know what you want me to say.
- 1:28:42So then I went back over to Chris and he
- 1:28:43said, "Hey, do you know anything? Has
- 1:28:45anything hit the checking account? Like
- 1:28:47her credit cards? Did you take any
- 1:28:48credit cards?" Like I'm still on my mind
- 1:28:51trying to process.
- 1:28:52And he said, "No." I said, "Chris, did
- 1:28:54she cuz we get paid every Tuesday on
- 1:28:55Le-Vel?"
- 1:28:57And you have to set it up either for a
- 1:28:59like a prepaid credit card type thing
- 1:29:02or you have to set it up for direct
- 1:29:04deposit into your checking account. So I
- 1:29:05was like, "Do you know the login? Login
- 1:29:07and see if she had her money transferred
- 1:29:09today."
- 1:29:10And he logged into it and he didn't like
- 1:29:13it hadn't been transferred for the last
- 1:29:152 weeks what she got paid from Le-Vel.
- 1:29:17So I was like, "Transfer it." He was
- 1:29:18like, "Why would I transfer that?" And I
- 1:29:20was like, "Because if it doesn't hit
- 1:29:21your account, it's going to hit some
- 1:29:22account."
- 1:29:24I mean, I don't know if that was smart
- 1:29:26or not smart, but if it doesn't hit
- 1:29:27their personal checking account then
- 1:29:29it's got to go somewhere.
- 1:29:31And who's paying that?
- 1:29:33Le-Vel.
- 1:29:33Le-Vel? What is that?
- 1:29:35It's the Thrive company. Yeah.
- 1:29:37L L A V E L?
- 1:29:39Mhm.
- 1:29:40And I can give you um
- 1:29:43I don't have Paul Gravette's number, but
- 1:29:45Addie Malone would have his number and
- 1:29:46they might actually be able to look and
- 1:29:48see if Chris says it doesn't hit the
- 1:29:50account.
- 1:29:51Paul Gravette's is the CEO of the
- 1:29:53company.
- 1:29:54How do you spell Paul's last name?
- 1:29:55I don't know. I can look it up though.
- 1:30:04How How funny. He just posted 22 minutes
- 1:30:06ago. J or G G R A V E T T E.
- 1:30:30Okay.
- 1:30:31Anything else you can think of?
- 1:30:34No, but I've had several media sources
- 1:30:36reaching out to me wanting to talk to me
- 1:30:37cuz it's the last one that technically
- 1:30:39saw her besides her husband. What do you
- 1:30:41suggest there?
- 1:30:45And I I can't tell you what to do.
- 1:30:46Right.
- 1:30:47Um from from an investigative
- 1:30:50perspective,
- 1:30:51we would prefer that you don't talk to
- 1:30:53them right now right yet.
- 1:30:54Okay.
- 1:30:55Um we do we do have a PIO that will
- 1:30:58person
- 1:30:59Private investigator?
- 1:31:00I'm sorry, uh public information
- 1:31:01officer.
- 1:31:02Okay.
- 1:31:03Great word.
- 1:31:04Public information officer who who
- 1:31:06handles all of our media relations and
- 1:31:08and what we put out to the media.
- 1:31:10Okay.
- 1:31:10Um you know, we like to try to
- 1:31:13regulate that as much as we can.
- 1:31:14Okay.
- 1:31:15And you know, and again, I I I can't
- 1:31:17tell you what to do and what not to do.
- 1:31:19Um use your best judgment.
- 1:31:20Right.
- 1:31:20We would prefer that you don't talk to
- 1:31:22people at this point.
- 1:31:23Okay.
- 1:31:24Um
- 1:31:25that's kind of our stand.
- 1:31:27Okay.
- 1:31:27So,
- 1:31:29I'll let you use your best judgment.
- 1:31:31Okay.
- 1:31:32But uh like I said, we prefer that you
- 1:31:33don't right at the moment. Um the time
- 1:31:36there will be a time and a place for
- 1:31:37that.
- 1:31:38Okay.
- 1:31:39So,
- 1:31:41What do I do?
- 1:31:43You can you can either let them go to um
- 1:31:45voicemail or you can tell them no
- 1:31:46comment.
- 1:31:47text I don't know how they're getting my
- 1:31:48phone number. I'm sorry.
- 1:31:49Yeah.
- 1:31:50They've texted me, they've messaged me
- 1:31:51on Facebook, they've called and left
- 1:31:53messages. And I'm like, how in the hell
- 1:31:54did you get my phone number?
- 1:31:55Yeah, they're
- 1:31:56they're good at what they do.
- 1:31:57Yeah.
- 1:31:58One of them called my aunt. And I'm
- 1:31:59like, how did Do know she was my aunt?
- 1:32:01Yeah.
- 1:32:02Right. So, so I mean you can let them go
- 1:32:05to voicemail, not answer them. You can
- 1:32:07answer them and say I've no comment
- 1:32:08right now.
- 1:32:11Whatever you think.
- 1:32:12Okay.
- 1:32:12So.
- 1:32:14And if you think of anything further,
- 1:32:16please
- 1:32:17send me an email.
- 1:32:19So, that's my desk line on there. You
- 1:32:21You got my my email and cell number,
- 1:32:22yeah.
- 1:32:23Okay.
- 1:32:24So, or send me a text, it's fine, too.
- 1:32:25Okay.
- 1:32:27So.
- 1:32:27Would you stay away from Chris?
- 1:32:31At this point
- 1:32:32that there's no reason for me to go over
- 1:32:33there, but then everybody I'm the only
- 1:32:35one here, so they're like, "Well, what's
- 1:32:36Chris doing?" I'm like, "I don't know.
- 1:32:38I'm not sitting in his house 24/7 with
- 1:32:40him."
- 1:32:41So, I mean then I understand your desire
- 1:32:43to want to be involved and try to try to
- 1:32:45help.
- 1:32:46in that sense. I just
- 1:32:48I don't understand.
- 1:32:49Yeah. No, I I get it.
- 1:32:52Oh, yeah. That's right.
- 1:32:52Takes this.
- 1:32:53And then we'll You want the Yeah, you
- 1:32:54want that.
- 1:32:57So, um
- 1:33:00you know
- 1:33:02I I would recommend that you probably
- 1:33:04not contact Chris.
- 1:33:05Okay. And if he contacts me, leave him?
- 1:33:07Yeah, probably for the time being.
- 1:33:09Okay.
- 1:33:12So.
- 1:33:14Is it wrong to ask if he's a suspect?
- 1:33:17Um
- 1:33:19since it's technically a missing person,
- 1:33:21there's not technically a suspect, but
- 1:33:23he is somebody that we definitely would
- 1:33:25like to talk to further.
- 1:33:27Right.
- 1:33:28So.
- 1:33:29You know, you watch the Dateline stuff
- 1:33:31and you know that stuff goes.
- 1:33:33Yeah.
- 1:33:33So.
- 1:33:34No, wait.
- 1:33:35People that are involved tend to draw a
- 1:33:37little bit of the spotlight more.
- 1:33:41And
- 1:33:44like if it was a crime of passion
- 1:33:46I honestly think he got a head
- 1:33:47strangler.
- 1:33:50Only because she already has the neck
- 1:33:51issue.
- 1:33:52I mean I don't
- 1:33:53What was that from?
- 1:33:55She had a I don't know if it was a I
- 1:33:57don't know if it started out as a
- 1:33:58slipped disc or if it was a degenerative
- 1:34:01disc and they went in and fused some
- 1:34:03stuff in her neck. She's got a scar on
- 1:34:05the front part of her neck.
- 1:34:06Okay.
- 1:34:08They're in most of the pictures.
- 1:34:10Did she have a car accident recently?
- 1:34:12No, she had a car accident in
- 1:34:14I want to say it was 2007 and then she
- 1:34:16got some neck and back issues due to it.
- 1:34:18Okay.
- 1:34:18Why?
- 1:34:19She didn't she did they have a Ford
- 1:34:20Explorer?
- 1:34:21They did.
- 1:34:22What happened to that?
- 1:34:22Um
- 1:34:25I can't remember if they owned it and
- 1:34:26sold it or if it was on lease and the
- 1:34:28lease was up and they didn't
- 1:34:30resign the lease.
- 1:34:31Okay.
- 1:34:31But they got rid of that about 6 months
- 1:34:33ago.
- 1:34:343 to 6 months ago cuz um
- 1:34:37they both earn so through Le-Vel you can
- 1:34:39earn a car
- 1:34:40and if you hit certain criteria and you
- 1:34:42go and purchase and lease a car of their
- 1:34:45like their their car list then they'll
- 1:34:47pay you $800 a month or $1600 a month
- 1:34:50for your car payment.
- 1:34:51Woah.
- 1:34:52Yeah, so it's worth it to go get the car
- 1:34:54here.
- 1:34:55Yeah, that's perfect.
- 1:34:55So that's why they have the Lexus. The
- 1:34:57Lexus is through Le-Vel tech not like
- 1:34:59through Le-Vel like one if she quit
- 1:35:01earning that amount of money she'd have
- 1:35:02to pay for it out of pocket but they
- 1:35:05pay you every month on the second month
- 1:35:07of second Tuesday of the month and you
- 1:35:08get $800
- 1:35:10depending on what bracket you're in.
- 1:35:12Okay.
- 1:35:12To go pick out a luxury car.
- 1:35:13So technically it's a company car.
- 1:35:15Technically. Yeah.
- 1:35:16That's interesting.
- 1:35:17But I mean you have to sign the lease
- 1:35:19and if they don't end up paying you
- 1:35:20you're still responsible. Yeah.
- 1:35:22Yeah. So.
- 1:35:24So they gotten rid of the Ford because
- 1:35:26they were talking about getting another
- 1:35:27car.
- 1:35:30So.
- 1:35:31Got you.
- 1:35:32But then she said that they were because
- 1:35:33of money issues
- 1:35:35they were not getting another car
- 1:35:36because they were using if you don't
- 1:35:38have the
- 1:35:39if you don't go purchase the car then
- 1:35:41you still get a car payment but it's
- 1:35:42only $300 so they were just using the
- 1:35:45$300 for whatever.
- 1:35:47Okay.
- 1:35:48So.
- 1:35:50Yeah.
- 1:35:50All right.
- 1:35:52Okay. Yeah, if you think of anything
- 1:35:54else just me a text or send me an email.
- 1:35:56Okay.
- 1:35:57Or give me a call whichever.
- 1:35:58Okay.
- 1:36:00Do you need anything else from me?
- 1:36:01Not that I can think of off the top of
- 1:36:02my head.
- 1:36:03Okay.
- 1:36:03So you're here till 6:00 a.m. is that
- 1:36:05right?
- 1:36:05Yeah, and my 16-year-old was there too
- 1:36:07so.
- 1:36:08Okay.
- 1:36:09I don't know if he'll want to talk to
- 1:36:10you or not
- 1:36:11he was there with me but your girl
- 1:36:13probably won't tell you much.
- 1:36:16So.
- 1:36:18Yeah, I just wanted to say
- 1:36:20Okay.
- 1:36:21Unfortunately
- 1:36:22Yeah.
- 1:36:23I traded shifts this week so I could
- 1:36:24have Saturday off so I could go to
- 1:36:26Arizona with Shannon.
- 1:36:28I
- 1:36:28this is my trade.
- 1:36:30Now you're going to pay the price huh?
- 1:36:32Yeah.
- 1:36:33I'm always the one
- 1:36:37All right.
- 1:36:40Well thanks for sitting down with me I
- 1:36:41appreciate that.
- 1:36:42You're welcome.
- 1:36:49Goodnight.
- 1:36:50Have a nice night.
- 1:41:39Mhm.
- 1:43:34Mhm.
- 1:43:38Mhm.
