2. 0:06about here AJ recently is how complex as
3. 0:09to be a leader in healthcare right now
4. 0:11and we've identified seven challenges
5. 0:14that all healthcare leaders are facing
6. 0:16all over the world they go something
7. 0:19like this so the first is a self
8. 0:21political challenges health care is
9. 0:23probably the dominant political issue in
10. 0:26most of the countries in which we
11. 0:27currently work secondly there's a set of
12. 0:30financial challenges the economics of
13. 0:33healthcare are tough thirdly there are
14. 0:36some demographic issues especially
15. 0:38around the aging of the population and
16. 0:40that in turn causes the fourth of our
17. 0:42challenges which is a changing
18. 0:43epidemiology five customer expectations
19. 0:47are changing people expect different
20. 0:50things of healthcare today than the
21. 0:51ustah sexed there are new technologies
22. 0:55and the impact on healthcare in a range
23. 0:57of ways and 7 our workforce is also
24. 1:00changing and laying with those
25. 1:01demographic changes here's the kicker
26. 1:04the real difficulty is the fact that we
27. 1:06do not face any of these challenges
28. 1:08individually rather we face them all
29. 1:11together in a confluence every day in
30. 1:14healthcare and so we can't pick them off
31. 1:16individually let's deal with the
32. 1:19political challenges today and next year
33. 1:20we'll get round to dealing with the
34. 1:22demographics it's a situation that
35. 1:26demands a set of complex solutions to a
36. 1:29set of complex problems I believe that
37. 1:32HL Mencken was right when he said every
38. 1:35complex problem has an answer which is
39. 1:37simple and wrong and so what we're going
40. 1:40to try and do here H is paint some of
41. 1:42the solutions to those seven complex
42. 1:46problems and so along with the two other
43. 1:49CEOs H I has had in this history Don
44. 1:53Berwick and Maureen Pizarro we will be
45. 1:55exploring these seven categories with an
46. 1:58eye towards improvement that is after
47. 2:00all one of the things that I chose based
48. 2:02so I hope you'll join us in October our
