3. 0:07murder that's a brutal killing he had a
4. 0:12hole that she had put together so she
5. 0:15would be out there oh dear shorts and
6. 0:17she would hitch a ride and once in she
7. 0:21would start with a story about how she
8. 0:23needed to go to wherever this person
9. 0:26looked to be going
10. 0:27[Music]
11. 0:28and that she needed to get money and one
12. 0:32know if you could help me out were
13. 0:35interested fine but if they weren't I
14. 0:38just get off the next exit and try again
15. 0:40she didn't kill everyone that picked her
16. 0:42up his typical of serial killers there
17. 0:46will be several opportunities and
18. 0:48they'll pass him up for some reason and
19. 0:50then they'll strike again there's a hell
20. 0:53of a lot of men I went through before
21. 0:55the next jerk came along and I used to
22. 0:58protection I think the most surprising
23. 1:01aspect of Aileen Wuornos was how people
24. 1:06warmed up to her they had no idea what
25. 1:09was going on inside her head obviously
26. 1:11if they did they wouldn't have picked
27. 1:12her up and that was the last ride they
28. 1:15ever took David d'amour was the
29. 1:18prosecutor and Aileen Wuornos his case I
30. 1:21mean what even 30 years since her first
31. 1:24murder what sticks out to you about this
32. 1:27case still well I think it was that
33. 1:30Aileen was really a one of a kind a very
34. 1:33troubled mind a great deal of anger
35. 1:35animosity and hatred towards people and
36. 1:38when she exploded she really exploded on
37. 1:41the scene she came literally out of
38. 1:42nowhere and went on a killing spree
39. 1:44leaving a trail of death wherever she
40. 1:47went
41. 1:47and when you were prosecuting this I
42. 1:49mean she claimed this was self-defense
43. 1:51if she would go to all of these
44. 1:54different rest stops she would lure
45. 1:56these victims into the woods I mean tell
46. 1:59me what it was like to try and prosecute
47. 2:01that kind of defense
48. 2:02well when Eileen Wuornos presented the
49. 2:05defense during the trial of self-defense
50. 2:07we were able to establish by the way the
51. 2:09homicides had occurred that it was
52. 2:12impossible to be a self defense argument
53. 2:14we were able to prove that in several of
54. 2:16them the men were actually running away
55. 2:17from her they were shot in the back
56. 2:20in one instance a man was prone on the
57. 2:22ground his vertebrae had been severed he
58. 2:25was paralyzed and she shot him in the
59. 2:27head from a downward angle it's hardly a
60. 2:30self defense when your victim is
61. 2:32paralyzed and unable to move or running
62. 2:34away from you and I'm sure what was
63. 2:37striking to you was this calm
64. 2:39flex personality she was charming
65. 2:41sometimes violent at others I mean how
66. 2:45did you reconcile this person that you
67. 2:48were trying to make sure saw the other
68. 2:51side of a jail cell I'm not sure you can
69. 2:54reconcile the mentality of Aileen
70. 2:56Wuornos yes you had maybe some charming
71. 2:59moments but far and few between she had
72. 3:03developed into an extremely angry
73. 3:06literally rageful person and that rage
74. 3:10could wasn't going to be contained and
75. 3:12she took it out on whoever she had the
76. 3:14opportunity to take it out on well I've
77. 3:16often referred to her as a killer that
78. 3:19robbed not a robber that killed you know
79. 3:23she admitted to seven murders she thinks
80. 3:27she had more victims than what she
81. 3:28admitted to yes I'm convinced she did we
82. 3:32were unable to recover one of the bodies
83. 3:34at mr. Peter Sims and there was another
84. 3:36gentleman in an area near the county
85. 3:39right practiced whose body was never
86. 3:41recovered but he went missing at the
87. 3:44same time similar circumstances around
88. 3:46the highways and it would have been a
89. 3:48location where Aileen would have
90. 3:50frequented so I'm guessing nine men a
91. 3:53minimum met their fate at her hands it
92. 3:57is really chilling when you hear you
93. 3:59describe this David we appreciate you
94. 4:01being with us and you at home you can
95. 4:03watch all of this very scary people we
