- 0:42that members of Congress used briefing
- 0:45information to inform stock trading of
- 0:47which Trump said he was not aware before
- 0:49calling the Senators in question very
- 0:51honorable people prior to the briefing
- 0:54Spicer passed through the room waving a
- 0:56marked shift from his antagonizing
- 0:58attitude toward reporters when he dealt
- 1:00with the White House press before his
- 1:02resignation in July 2017 Spicer was
- 1:06repeatedly thrust into a combative role
- 1:07and served on the front line of the
- 1:09administration's frequent Crusades
- 1:11against the media during his time as
- 1:13press secretary Spicer famously weighed
- 1:16in on crowd size at Trump's inauguration
- 1:18Spicer was ordered by the President to
- 1:20take to the briefing room on his first
- 1:22full day in office to lambast the media
- 1:24for coverage of the size of the crowd
- 1:26that attended Trump's inauguration a
- 1:28moment that quickly defines Spicer's
- 1:30public facing relationship with the
- 1:32press this was the largest audience to
- 1:34ever witness an inauguration period
- 1:36Spicer said contradicting all available
- 1:39data
- 1:39he also baselessly alleged that some
- 1:41photos were intentionally framed to
- 1:43downplay Trump's crowd Spicer
- 1:45since resigning as press secretary has
- 1:48said he absolutely regrets the incident
- 1:50and has been actively working to
- 1:51rehabilitate himself in the public eye
- 1:53Friday's briefing appearance was hardly
- 1:56Spicer's first brush with post White
- 1:58House publicity in August he joined a
- 2:01cast of Dancing with the Stars prompting
- 2:03the show's host Tom Bergeron to joke
- 2:05that the nice thing is Shawn will be in
- 2:06charge of assessing audience eyes Spicer
