  4. 0:09that is not factual it is it's an honor
  5. 0:11to do this and uh yes I believe that we
  6. 0:15have to be honest with the American
  7. 0:16people I think sometimes we can disagree
  8. 0:18with the facts there are certain things
  9. 0:20that um we may miss we may not fully
  10. 0:23understand when we come out but Our
  11. 0:24intention is never to lie to you
  12. 0:26Jonathan um our job is to make sure that
  13. 0:28sometimes and you're in the same boat I
  14. 0:30mean there are times when you guys tweet
  15. 0:33something out or write a story and you
  16. 0:35publish a correction that doesn't mean
  17. 0:37that you were intentionally trying to
  18. 0:38deceive readers of the American people
  19. 0:40does it and I think we should be
  20. 0:42afforded the same opportunity there are
  21. 0:44times when we believe something to be
  22. 0:46true or we get something from an agency
  23. 0:48uh or we act in haste because the
  24. 0:50information available wasn't complete
  25. 0:52but our desire to communicate with the
  26. 0:54American people and make sure that you
  27. 0:55have the most complete story at the time
  28. 0:57and so we do it but again I I think it

  43. 1:293 1 million people watched it on
  44. 1:31television combine that with the tens of
  45. 1:33millions of people that watched it
  46. 1:35online on a device there's it's
  47. 1:37unquestionable I don't I don't and I
  48. 1:39don't see any numbers that that dispute
  49. 1:41that when you add up attendance
  50. 1:43viewership or total audience includ of
  51. 1:46tablets phones uh on television I'd love
  52. 1:49to see any information that proves
  53. 1:51proves that otherwise and and and the
  54. 1:54the approach that you took on Saturday
  55. 1:55any second thoughts on that I think
  56. 1:58Jonathan look I I I want this to huh I
  57. 2:02came out to read a statement and I did
  58. 2:03it we're here today I'm going to stay

  62. 2:14leave before I do um but look I I want
  63. 2:17to make sure that we have a healthy
  64. 2:18relationship so are you retracting your
  65. 2:20claim on Saturday that it was the
  66. 2:22largest crowd in person that's notation
  67. 2:25well you said that this was the largest
  68. 2:27audience to ever witness an an
  69. 2:28inauguration period both in person and
  70. 2:31around the globe right to witness and
  71. 2:35around the globe yes the total total

  77. 2:49that no that's actually what I said it's
  78. 2:52not what I I don't know how you can
  79. 2:54interpret it differently that's
  80. 2:55literally what I said to witness it in
