  1. 0:00investigate the investigators President
  2. 0:02Trump speaking out last night on Hannity
  3. 0:04a day after former Special Counsel
  4. 0:05Robert Muller's House testimony so they
  5. 0:09create his phony crime and then they say
  6. 0:13he obstructed they said there was no
  7. 0:15collusion but he obstructed and there
  8. 0:19has never been anything like this ever
  9. 0:21before in our country this crime was a
  10. 0:25the crime was committed on the other
  11. 0:28side and we'll find out about that we
  12. 0:30have a great Attorney General who's
  13. 0:32looking at it I'm not involved in that
  14. 0:34he's he's looking at it and you know
  15. 0:36I've been hearing a lot of the media
  16. 0:39actually is talking about investigate
  17. 0:41the investigators and a lot more than
  18. 0:43that and I think that things are I just
  19. 0:47see it I feel it I think a lot of good
  20. 0:50is gonna come out of it
  21. 0:51joining us right now is former White
  22. 0:53House press secretary of America first
  23. 0:54action senior advisor and spokesperson
  24. 0:57Sean Spicer Sean great to see you thanks
  25. 0:58so much for joining us you bet good
  26. 1:01morning a lot of conversation this
  27. 1:02morning and the op-eds post the Muller
  28. 1:04testimony about not in my purview a lot
  29. 1:08of things he refused to talk about Kim's
  30. 1:11stress a lot with a new op-ed in the
  31. 1:12journal yesterday titled s what Muller
  32. 1:15was trying to hide she writes mr. Muller
  33. 1:18dodged and weaved and refused to avoid
  34. 1:20answering questions about the FBI's
  35. 1:21legwork the dossiers role and fusion's
  36. 1:24involvement the special counsels often
  37. 1:26befuddled testimony has reproductively
  38. 1:28raised questions about how in control he
  39. 1:31was of the 22 month investigation or the
  40. 1:34writing of the report mr. Muller and his
  41. 1:36team are clearly playing their own
  42. 1:37important role in hiding the truth the
  43. 1:40Muller testimony only highlights how
  44. 1:42important it is that Attorney General
  45. 1:43William Barr is finally pursuing
  46. 1:45accountability Shawn Strasser writes
  47. 1:48that in this morning's Journal and you
  48. 1:50know I've been asking the question for a
  49. 1:51couple years now can we even have any
  50. 1:54credibility of the special counsel if he
  51. 1:57doesn't focus and he doesn't look at the
  52. 1:59origins of the Russia investigation
  53. 2:01things like fusion GPS which by the way
  54. 2:03he said he's not familiar with yeah I
  55. 2:08mean I think those are amazing questions
  56. 2:10there were a bunch that were asked of
  57. 2:12him
  58. 2:13in terms of people that were involved in
  59. 2:15this investigation or rather the origins
  60. 2:18of it as you point out that weren't
  61. 2:20mentioned at all in the report and he
  62. 2:22gave no answer as to why they weren't
  63. 2:24mentioned what their role could have
  64. 2:26been but when you start to peel back
  65. 2:28this onion has has occurred you start to
  66. 2:31hear about other how a lot of this
  67. 2:33actually began in the first place in
  68. 2:35terms of Carter Page and Jewish
  69. 2:39Papadopoulos and yeah and and how they
  70. 2:43were at first brought into this orbit
  71. 2:45and tracked and who gave them what
  72. 2:46information and sucked them into this
  73. 2:48and you really start to realize that
  74. 2:49this sounds really really shady when
  75. 2:52Muller testified the irony is this was
  76. 2:55supposed to be the Democrats moment to
  77. 2:56bring the visual adaptation of the
  78. 2:59Muller report to life they called it a
  79. 3:01movie they wanted the Americans who
  80. 3:03didn't read the report to finally see it
  81. 3:05in a different way they thought this was
  82. 3:06gonna be a big win from I think - Kim's
  83. 3:08op-ed this was a huge disappointment for
  84. 3:11the Democrats she points out correctly
  85. 3:13he looked flustered at times he muddled
  86. 3:16through a lot of things but also and I
  87. 3:19think this was the key thing they got
  88. 3:20scant attention and she points out as
  89. 3:22well is that when he was asked did you
  90. 3:25write the press release did you
  91. 3:26authorize the press release to go to the
  92. 3:28media he couldn't answer that question
  93. 3:29when she was asked how much did you read
  94. 3:31of this reporter write of this report
  95. 3:33again he deferred on that that really
  96. 3:36led people to believe if it's gonna be
  97. 3:38called the Muller report and Muller
  98. 3:39didn't write it or understand its full
  99. 3:42contents that's problematic yeah and you
  100. 3:44know the the issue now is who did write
  101. 3:47it so Andrew Weissman was you know his
  102. 3:49number two and he was a Clinton friend
  103. 3:52Clinton donor it was at her party and
  104. 3:55when she expected to win
  105. 3:56Dagan but shown it a time to just
  106. 3:59jettison the Moller team and move on
  107. 4:01because again with President Trump in
  108. 4:04the White House you have John Durham at
  109. 4:05the Justice Department you have Michael
  110. 4:07Horowitz the Inspector General for
  111. 4:10justice and also the likes of Lindsey
  112. 4:11Graham looking into all this we can get
  113. 4:13to the bottom of it we can get answers
  114. 4:15to assure the American people that our
  115. 4:19surveillance laws will not be abused for
  116. 4:22political purposes Andy McCarthy has
  117. 4:24said
  118. 4:24if there's accountability we can be sure
  119. 4:26if there's no accountability I don't
  120. 4:27think anybody's gonna trust the FBI
  121. 4:29right but the accountability now is on
  122. 4:31the shoulders of bill Barr and those
  123. 4:33with injustice thankfully yes so look
  124. 4:37the way I've come down on this going
  125. 4:39into a re-election cycle is I think that
  126. 4:41the president's record of accomplishment
  127. 4:43it should be the focus what he has done
  128. 4:45and whether it's veterans the build-up
  129. 4:46of the military of the economy his
  130. 4:48stances on foreign policy he's keeping
  131. 4:50the promises he made as a candidate that
  132. 4:52being said to your point Dagan if the
  133. 4:55Democrats are going to keep beating this
  134. 4:57dead horse over and over again I think
  135. 4:59that we need to continue to point out
  136. 5:01the flaws and in their argument which
  137. 5:03again I go back to if this was the best
  138. 5:05they got with this hearing then then
  139. 5:08it's not going to be that tough to do we
  140. 5:10can't allow them to take these potshots
  141. 5:12at the president of the team without
  142. 5:14countering with this thing so I would
  143. 5:17much rather have a conversation about
  144. 5:19policy and accomplishments but if the
  145. 5:21Democrats are gonna put Errol their eggs
  146. 5:23in this basket which it looks like they
  147. 5:25are they can't talk about
  148. 5:26accomplishments they can't talk about an
  149. 5:27agenda look at what they've done with
  150. 5:29their majority it's investigation after
  151. 5:31investigation after investigation that
  152. 5:33have been fruitless but that's but
  153. 5:37that's even as the real crimes are not
  154. 5:38looked at so that's the point I don't
  155. 5:40think you can just gloss over the fact
  156. 5:42that for three years we have had the
  157. 5:45media with their heads on fire talking
  158. 5:47about collusion between Trump and the
  159. 5:49Russians and the media with their heads
  160. 5:51on fire talking about everything that he
  161. 5:53did when in fact he was set up
  162. 5:54this is this is obviously clear now to
  163. 5:56everybody and for the last two years
  164. 5:58you've been talking about these
  165. 5:59questionable things that a cabal of
  166. 6:01people have done well Peter Strock and
  167. 6:04Andrew McCabe if we don't see
  168. 6:06accountability and I'm talking
  169. 6:07prosecution's then I don't know that
  170. 6:09anybody's going to feel like you can
  171. 6:11trust that you're not going to have the
  172. 6:13terrorism tools things like informants
  173. 6:15honey pots wiretapping all these things
  174. 6:19that were used on Donald Trump that are
  175. 6:21supposed to be used on terrorists well I
  176. 6:24think that one of the things that the
  177. 6:26president has said it over and over
  178. 6:27again that people have to remember is
  179. 6:28that he's the president right he's got
  180. 6:30tremendous resources he's wealthy he can
  181. 6:33sort of defend himself and you've seen
  182. 6:35the president is not shy about making
  183. 6:37his voice heard
  184. 6:38but what happens when something like
  185. 6:39this happens to the average Joe that
  186. 6:41doesn't have the resources or the the
  187. 6:43echo-chamber that the president does
  188. 6:45that's what I think should send a chill
  189. 6:47through everyone's back that's not the
  190. 6:49President of the United States who are
  191. 6:50not rich and powerful is that when the
  192. 6:52Gucci from the get-go because it's not
  193. 6:56right that somebody could get wiretap
  194. 6:58for no reason just because he was on the
  195. 7:00Trump campaign so that they could get a
  196. 7:01window into his campaign so that one
  197. 7:03candidate can get an edge over another
  198. 7:06why that's exactly what happened why are
  199. 7:08tapped with opposition research from the
  200. 7:11opposing candidate that could have been
  201. 7:13Russia disinformation which Bob Muller
  202. 7:15and his team clearly didn't look at I
  203. 7:18completely agree with your points I do
  204. 7:21think though the American people are
  205. 7:23smart and they're waking up to the hoax
  206. 7:25yes to use one of the president's words
  207. 7:27because that's why you see his approval
  208. 7:29ratings going up they're finally focused
  209. 7:31on the economy and the strong and the
  210. 7:33strong numbers on economic approval yeah
  211. 7:36meanwhile the Democrats are busy
  212. 7:38fighting with one another look at this
  213. 7:39Nancy Pelosi versus the squad story Sean
  214. 7:41the House Speaker is set to meet with
  215. 7:43the Congress from in Alexandria Ocasio
  216. 7:44Cortes in less than an hour attempting
  217. 7:47to mend fences apparently Pelosi says
  218. 7:49she's looking forward to today's
  219. 7:50face-to-face what do you think comes out
  220. 7:52of that meeting if that's what she's
  221. 7:55looking forward to I'd hate to see the
  222. 7:56rest of her schedule because that
  223. 7:59doesn't say much for her day I think
  224. 8:02it's kind of to be blunt embarrassing
  225. 8:04that this freshman and these multiple
  226. 8:06freshmen members of Congress are wagging
  227. 8:08the dog if you will probably of the
  228. 8:10Democratic Party you've got Nancy Pelosi
  229. 8:12that's been in Congress for more than 30
  230. 8:14years regardless of my differences with
  231. 8:15her politically in policy why she's a
  232. 8:17brilliant political tactician and the
  233. 8:19idea that she's sitting here having to
  234. 8:21take her cues and frankly the entire
  235. 8:22party is taking their cues in and you
  236. 8:24have every presidential candidate
  237. 8:26answering to every tweet and utterance
  238. 8:28of a 29 year old freshman this is
  239. 8:31embarrassing for the Democratic Party
  240. 8:33it's also very scary the direction that
  241. 8:35they're going in and the problem I mean
  242. 8:37here's the the the the dirty secret this
  243. 8:39is the end they're about to go into a 42
  244. 8:41day recess so I think Pelosi is trying
  245. 8:43to make everything look real pretty
  246. 8:44before they head out of town this is a
  247. 8:47challenge the idea I mean this is this
  248. 8:49was so that she can make everything look
  249. 8:51nice
  250. 8:51hopefully by enough time so that they
  251. 8:53get out of town and then she says oh we
  252. 8:54can't do impeachment cuz we're on break
  253. 8:56but this is this is somewhat of a really
  254. 8:59really when people think about this
  255. 9:00you've got this crazy crazy left-wing
  256. 9:03avid socialist freshman member of
  257. 9:05Congress with no business experience
  258. 9:07sitting back dictating the terms in
  259. 9:09which the entire Democratic Party is
  260. 9:10taking their cues pretty unbelievable
  261. 9:12but as Nancy Pelosi said there's it's
  262. 9:15just four votes short it's good to see
  263. 9:19it thanks so much you Becca spice today
