  1. 0:00I haven't covered this story in and of
  2. 0:02itself but I have talked a little bit
  3. 0:03about how I see the appearance at the
  4. 0:06Emmys on Sunday by former press
  5. 0:07secretary for Donald Trump Sean Spicer
  6. 0:09as really problematic because it was all
  7. 0:12about you bring out out Sean and he
  8. 0:14pokes fun when he said the inauguration
  9. 0:17crowd for Donald Trump was the biggest
  10. 0:20ever and in doing so it sort of seems
  11. 0:22like he knows that wasn't really true
  12. 0:24and we all have a good time because
  13. 0:26after all the guy's not working for
  14. 0:28Trump anymore and I believe that it is
  15. 0:29very very dangerous to do this in the
  16. 0:32same way by the way that I've said just
  17. 0:34because George W Bush seems
  18. 0:36comparatively reasonable compared to
  19. 0:38Donald Trump doesn't mean that now we
  20. 0:40need to remember George W Bush as having
  21. 0:42been some great president who did
  22. 0:43amazing things it's important to keep
  23. 0:45sort of a connection to reality and I
  24. 0:47believe that allowing Sean Spicer to
  25. 0:50appear in this teddy bear way walking
  26. 0:53out with his dumb podium on the Emmys
  27. 0:56furthered the idea that he's a good guy
  28. 1:00and he wasn't really out there
  29. 1:02perpetrating lie after lie after lie on
  30. 1:05the American people which he was he's
  31. 1:07still a terrible person who was
  32. 1:08complicit in the entire thing who ruined
  33. 1:10his career hopefully although maybe not
  34. 1:12because we've seen people who seemed to
  35. 1:15ruin their careers in politics end up
  36. 1:16actually getting pretty good jobs from
  37. 1:18someone so he did an interview with ABC
  38. 1:20where I don't even know how this is
  39. 1:23something he can say with a straight
  40. 1:24face he's claiming he never knowingly
  41. 1:27lied to the American people in all of
  42. 1:30those press briefings that were riddled
  43. 1:33with lies here's Sean Spicer some argue
  44. 1:35that the reason you did it is because
  45. 1:36this is step one in trying to rehab your
  46. 1:38image I feel very good with my image I'm
  47. 1:41very happy with myself I am able to go
  48. 1:43out and explain a lot of things now but
  49. 1:45I'm not on a tour I'm out having some
  50. 1:47fun it might be fun for Spicer but not
  51. 1:50for his many critics people have hard
  52. 1:53feelings for Stan because they feel that
  53. 1:54you lied to the American people have you
  54. 1:56ever lied to the American people I don't
  55. 1:58think so
  56. 1:59you don't think so no I'm cheering my
  57. 2:00taxes unequivocally you can say no I
  58. 2:03look again you want to find something
  59. 2:06I've not knowingly done anything to to
  60. 2:08do that no I haven't cheated on my taxes
  61. 2:10Sean she's talking about in your role as
  62. 2:13the spokesperson for the President of
  63. 2:15the United States for me as soon as he
  64. 2:18said I haven't cheated on my taxes that
  65. 2:20means you know you lied to the American
  66. 2:23people when you were press secretary
  67. 2:24well here's the thing he may be telling
  68. 2:26the truth in his response because as the
  69. 2:28press secretary he's really just
  70. 2:29parroting the words of the
  71. 2:30administration oh he's a conduit it just
  72. 2:32shows that he has no skepticism no
  73. 2:34critical thinking to verify the facts
  74. 2:36before he goes out there and tells the
  75. 2:38American public that's interesting if
  76. 2:39you believe that he is merely a conduit
  77. 2:41for the assertions of the president then
  78. 2:43these weren't really his statements he's
  79. 2:45just out there saying this is the
  80. 2:48position of the White House which is
  81. 2:49crazy because that would mean he's
  82. 2:51having it both ways because so many
  83. 2:52times we hear from both heard from Sean
  84. 2:54Spicer and hear from Sarah Huckabee
  85. 2:55Sanders his replacement that they can't
  86. 2:57speak for the president that well that's
  87. 2:59your job your job is to speak for the
  88. 3:01president you can't possibly have it
  89. 3:03both ways
  90. 3:03he's lying about lying right and I'm
  91. 3:06actually confused because the entire
  92. 3:08Emmy thing this is the biggest Emmy
  93. 3:11audience ever it's only funny if it's
  94. 3:14poking fun of the fact that it wasn't
  95. 3:16true when he said it about the
  96. 3:17inauguration right and again this
  97. 3:20reinforces the idea that conservatives
  98. 3:22just don't get satire and parody and it
  99. 3:24continues here's more of Sean Spicer in
  100. 3:26this bizarre Gong Show interview look I
  101. 3:29made mistakes there's no question I
  102. 3:31think we all do some of them I tried to
  103. 3:33own very publicly and in some cases
  104. 3:37there were things that I did that until
  105. 3:38someone brought it up I said gosh I
  106. 3:40didn't realize that that was a mistake
  107. 3:41I'm sorry about that but to watch some
  108. 3:43of the personal attacks questioning my
  109. 3:46integrity questioning my does you know
  110. 3:48what my intentions were I think we're
  111. 3:50really over the top later he was told
  112. 3:52some of the things he said might have
  113. 3:53been inaccurate day one could he truly
  114. 3:56have thought that it was the largest
  115. 3:58inauguration crowd ever just on day one
  116. 4:00there are multiple lies just in this
  117. 4:02portion of the interview about lying
  118. 4:04probably including I feel very good with
  119. 4:06my image maybe that's true but
  120. 4:08I have a hard time believing that with
  121. 4:10this level of dishonesty how his Fox
  122. 4:13News not snatched this guy up and signed
  123. 4:15him to a 5-year deal right
  124. 4:16I really hope at some point Sean Spicer
  125. 4:19is asked about lying to the American
  126. 4:21people in front of a grand jury
  127. 4:24I really just don't believe that if Sean
  128. 4:27Spicer knew that he was about to tell a
  129. 4:28lie and instructed by the White House to
  130. 4:30do so
  131. 4:31that he would have the integrity to
  132. 4:32fight back I don't even say I'm not
  133. 4:34gonna go out there because he would know
  134. 4:36that Trump would bash him and possibly
  135. 4:38even fire him and Trump ended up bashing
  136. 4:40him anyway right Spicer went out there
  137. 4:42and told the lie about the inauguration
  138. 4:44crowd and Trump apparently didn't like
  139. 4:47the way he did it because he didn't
  140. 4:49think it was a good performance I think
  141. 4:51that Sean Spicer could much better use
  142. 4:53his time looking for a lawyer than doing
  143. 4:56these weird interviews he is a meta liar
  144. 4:59not Megha Mehta he is lying about lying
  145. 5:01is there any way that we could believe
  146. 5:04Sean Spicer doesn't think he lied let me
  147. 5:07know I'm on Twitter at D Pakman we'll be

  159. 5:40no it's not
  160. 5:46when I heard the song and thought of the
  161. 5:49concept not a person I was thinking
  162. 5:51about the concept unperson which i think
  163. 5:54is from Orwell's 1984 right I may be
  164. 5:57wrong about that but anyway that's like
