  3. 0:07i'm the 59th exoneree to be exonerated
  4. 0:10in the united states and the only female
  5. 0:13and i'm here today to in kentucky
  6. 0:17working with abolition groups to try to
  7. 0:19help
  8. 0:20get rid of the death penalty
  9. 0:27and i'm hoping that by me telling my
  10. 0:29story to people
  11. 0:30i would get a chance to help be a part
  12. 0:33abolish
  13. 0:33abolishing the death penalty as a deal's
  14. 0:36nest i was on death row for
  15. 0:37two years nine months i did six and a
  16. 0:40half years all together
  17. 0:42waiting to die and not being advised
  18. 0:45of how the legal process works
  19. 0:49and how my appeal process went
  20. 0:52so that was very powerful no one would
  21. 0:55listen i mean
  22. 0:56it's a lot of people in jail say that
  23. 0:57they didn't commit crimes or whatever
  24. 0:59but
  25. 1:00when it goes on deaf ears and you're
  26. 1:01steady trying to explain to people
  27. 1:03you know that's kind of hard and it was
  28. 1:05very hard for me
  29. 1:07i hope that um we would we will end it
  30. 1:10soon
