1. 0:00Hey guys, Finn here from 86 Reviews and
2. 0:02are you tired of Goku releases now?
3. 0:05We've had three in the last couple of
4. 0:07months and this will be the fourth.
5. 0:09Luckily, I'm not tired of reviewing Goku
6. 0:11releases and luckily it's an update to a
7. 0:14form we desperately need, especially for
8. 0:16all you Dragon Ball Super fans. And you
9. 0:18know me, guys, this is my bread and
10. 0:20butter. I'll take every and all forms
11. 0:23with this new body. What I really want
12. 0:25is an updated Super Saiyan 2 and three,
13. 0:28but we'll talk about that at the end of
14. 0:29the review. Super Saiyan God Goku was
15. 0:32Tamashi's best Goku yet. So, let's see
16. 0:35if they can keep up that momentum with
17. 0:37Blue here. We'll bring out the old Super
18. 0:39Saiyan Blue, do some head swaps, and see
19. 0:41how this new updated Dragon Ball Super
20. 0:44poster boy compares to some of his other
21. 0:46super buddies. Here it is. SHV Guad's
22. 0:49Dragon Ball Super, Super Saiyan God,
23. 0:52Super Saiyan Son Goku, Blue Power,
24. 0:54transcending limits. First things first,
25. 0:56let's see how he stacks up against a
26. 0:58couple of other Super characters. We
27. 1:00have Beerus and Whis on the left and
28. 1:02Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta on the right.
29. 1:05He fits in right in with Beerus and
30. 1:06Whis, but I think it's about time we get
31. 1:09an updated Blue Vegeta, too, since we
32. 1:11already have an updated body for the
33. 1:13prince. Hm. which makes me wonder if
34. 1:15Tamashi engineered Vegeta the same way
35. 1:18they did Goku. So, in my previous Super
36. 1:21Saiyan God Goku review, I mentioned that
37. 1:23Tamashi engineered this new Goku body so
38. 1:26they could easily retool him into any
39. 1:28version of Goku they wanted for future
40. 1:31releases. So, I wonder if that's the
41. 1:33same deal for Vegeta as well. In any
42. 1:36case, we need more Vegeta. So, here are
43. 1:38the four new Goku Tamasi have given us
44. 1:41using this new Goku base body. We have
45. 1:43the games begin, kindhearted Saiyan, the
46. 1:46most recent god, and of course, now
47. 1:49blue, which shares the exact same body
48. 1:51and sculpt as games begin and
49. 1:53kindhearted Saiyan. Same torso, same
50. 1:56blue and orange ghee, same crotch and
51. 1:58pants, and same boots. The only
52. 2:00difference being the color palette, and
53. 2:01the kanji logos on the front and back.
54. 2:04The blues and oranges are a little
55. 2:06darker compared to God and is kind of
56. 2:08similar to kind-hearted Saiyan base form
57. 2:10Goku. Super Saiyan God is the only
58. 2:13release that was heavily retoled from
59. 2:15top to bottom, but Blue here shares the
60. 2:17same sculpt as the first two Goku
61. 2:19releases. He's got that thicker, more
62. 2:22muscular build rather than your slimmer
63. 2:24god profile, which I think is more
64. 2:27geared towards the anime than manga.
65. 2:29We'll bring in the old 2.0 and 1.0 Super
66. 2:32Saiyan Blue Goku here, and the
67. 2:34difference is just night and day. Whilst
68. 2:37I don't not like the older version two
69. 2:40body, the head sculpt for me was always
70. 2:42inaccurate and subpar for me. The 1.0
71. 2:45version uses the whiskey from
72. 2:46Resurrection of F. But again, the head
73. 2:49sculpt is pretty atrocious. Super Saiyan
74. 2:51Blue hair always had a unique look to
75. 2:54it. Unlike your regular Super Saiyan
76. 2:56hair where you had four strands covering
77. 2:58your forehead, Blue had two strands of
78. 3:01hair stick up and out above the forehead
79. 3:03area. The 2.0 Oh, Super Saiyan Blue
80. 3:06never had those extra pieces and just
81. 3:08looked like a regular Super Saiyan in
82. 3:10blue. Ever since then, I've always
83. 3:13wanted a manga anime accurate Super
84. 3:15Saiyan Blue update. And I think Tamashi
85. 3:18absolutely delivered here. Games Begin
86. 3:21and kind-hearted Saiyan head sculpts and
87. 3:22faces I think overall are pretty good.
88. 3:25But God and Blue are on a whole another
89. 3:28level. The hair sculpt is on point just
90. 3:30like God. The strands are defined,
91. 3:33voluminous, and like I mentioned in my
92. 3:35god review, remind me of Ban Presto
93. 3:37statue level sculpting. The blue is an
94. 3:40accurate aqua turquoise blue and has a
95. 3:43nice matte finish to it. We get two hair
96. 3:46pieces of course, your standard hair
97. 3:48straight up Super Saiyan Blue sculpt and
98. 3:50an inaction windswept option as well. To
99. 3:53accompany these beautiful head sculpts
100. 3:55are some gorgeous looking Super Saiyan
101. 3:57Blue face plates. We get four options,
102. 3:59including a dead-on- eyes straight
103. 4:01glare, a mouth wide open shout, and two
104. 4:05in battle options looking off to the
105. 4:07side. I know I mentioned this every
106. 4:09time, but for any and all new viewers, I
107. 4:12have to talk about the annoying neck peg
108. 4:14system. Like the previous three Gokus,
109. 4:17the neck uses a ball hinge, which
110. 4:20attaches to the heads on an angle,
111. 4:22making it unnecessarily difficult to
112. 4:24swap out heads. When you push down on
113. 4:27the head, the ball hinge tends to slip,
114. 4:29which makes it more of a hassle than it
115. 4:31needs to be. Anyway, it's something I
116. 4:33hope they'll fix or consider changing in
117. 4:35the future. Something they have changed
118. 4:37for the better are the gaps that used to
119. 4:39be there between the heads and face
120. 4:40plates. I think the plastic they've used
121. 4:43for the heads ever since kindhearted
122. 4:45saying has been a lot softer, which
123. 4:47helps accept the face plates a lot
124. 4:49better. Nice. All right, guys. Let's
125. 4:52take a look at the articulation. And if
126. 4:54you have any of the three previous Goks,
127. 4:57then you kind of know what you're
128. 4:58getting yourself into. This Super Saiyan
129. 5:00Blue Goku shares exactly the same body
130. 5:03as these two releases. Super Saiyan God
131. 5:05here is a retool and he does have a
132. 5:08little bit different articulation. Uh
133. 5:10especially here in the boot cut, it is a
134. 5:12ball joint uh instead of your uh hinge
135. 5:15there with the three of these guys here.
136. 5:17But everything else is pretty much
137. 5:19essentially the same. But for all those
138. 5:21new viewers and for anybody who just
139. 5:23likes listening to my voice, here is the
140. 5:25articulation for Super Saiyan Blue. So,
141. 5:27first up, let's look at the head. And
142. 5:30Goku looks up really well.
143. 5:33He looks down just as good. You have a
144. 5:37side to side tilt
145. 5:41and you just have all around really good
146. 5:43rotation there and movement with the
147. 5:46head and neck joint there. For the
148. 5:49shoulders, Goku can move his arm past
149. 5:5390°, which is great. That's fantastic
150. 5:55range. You have really good butterfly
151. 5:58joints. He can bring his arms all the
152. 6:01way in. Great for those natural
153. 6:03kamehameha poses, which is fantastic.
154. 6:07And he can bring his arms all the way
155. 6:09back as well. Very nice.
156. 6:14You have 360 rotation there at the
157. 6:16shoulder, which is great.
158. 6:18bicep swivel,
159. 6:22double elbows,
160. 6:25and of course a swivel and hinges at the
161. 6:29wrist. Great standard stuff. So for the
162. 6:32torso, it is a soft plastic overlay over
163. 6:36the chest and you get a floating piece
164. 6:38here for the belt.
165. 6:40So, he does have really good forward ab
166. 6:44crunch, but you do get a bit of a gap
167. 6:47there at the back. Same can be said
168. 6:51going back,
169. 6:54although the gap is a little bit more
170. 6:56hidden there with the belt [music] and
171. 6:58the uh continuation of the gate piece
172. 7:00there. You get side to side rotation and
173. 7:04again just all round really [music] good
174. 7:07abulation there. So, moving on to the
175. 7:09lower half. The crotch here is a soft
176. 7:12rubbery plastic. So, Goku can kick
177. 7:16really high up, which is fantastic. Look
178. 7:18at that. Kicking back doesn't get you as
179. 7:22much range because of the way the butt
180. 7:24here is sculpted. It does get in the
181. 7:25way, but that's okay. Kicking kicking
182. 7:28off to the side, he doesn't get
183. 7:30perfectly 180, but it is really good
184. 7:32range. You have a thigh cut here,
185. 7:36single joint knees, which gets a little
186. 7:38bit past 90 degrees. Like I mentioned
187. 7:41before, the boot cut here, it is not on
188. 7:44a ball joint like Super Saiyan God, but
189. 7:46uh it's on a hinge like the previous two
190. 7:49Goks.
191. 7:51You of course get a swivel there at the
192. 7:54ankle.
193. 7:56The foot goes down.
194. 8:00If you push the foot back, you do get a
195. 8:02little bit of range going up, but I
196. 8:05guess that's where the hinge there at
197. 8:08the boot cut helps. You get toe
198. 8:10articulation
199. 8:12and of course ankle pivot. So, overall,
200. 8:16fantastic articulation if you don't mind
201. 8:19the cut, I guess, here at the back. But,
202. 8:22uh, it is a lot of fun to pose and you
203. 8:24can pull off a lot of great dynamic
204. 8:26[music] poses here with Goku. So have
205. 8:28fun with it. For accessories, you guys
206. 8:31already know this is a budget release,
207. 8:33so no effects, but we do get a bunch of
208. 8:35hands on top of the two heads and four
209. 8:37face plate options. First up are a pair
210. 8:40of Super Saiyan Blue fists.
211. 8:43We get a set of generic open palm blast
212. 8:45hands.
213. 8:47There's a set of instant transmission
214. 8:48hands,
215. 8:50a pair of iconic Goku fighting style
216. 8:53martial arts hands, and where would And
217. 8:57where would Goku be without two pairs of
218. 8:59Kamihameha hands? One pair for charging
219. 9:01and one pair for blasting
220. 9:04all your pegs and hands from your newer
221. 9:06figures like Legendary Super Saiyan fit.
222. 9:09So, you can use those Kamihameaha peg
223. 9:11hands and effects with this Goku as
224. 9:13well. And now for everybody's favorite
225. 9:16part of the show. It's head swaps time.
226. 9:18[cheering] Woohoo.
227. 9:22All right, guys. Yes, it is head swaps
228. 9:25time. So, uh yeah, let's, you know, sit
229. 9:27back, relax. It's uh probably the
230. 9:29longest segment uh in this review. So,
231. 9:32it's kind of, you know, just more
232. 9:33casual, more chill. We're just going to
233. 9:36pop this new head sculpt on a bunch of
234. 9:38Goku bodies and uh pop a bunch of Goku
235. 9:42heads on the new Super Saiyan Blue body.
236. 9:44So, like I said, uh it is going to be a
237. 9:48long uh kind of more casual section part
238. 9:51of the video, but uh yeah, let's get
239. 9:54started. So, Super Saiyan Blue head
240. 9:56sculpt. And this isn't every single Goku
241. 10:00body, of course, just some that I guess
242. 10:02you guys might want to see. Uh because
243. 10:06some of these looks do appear in the
244. 10:08manga and anime. So, we don't have a
245. 10:12Super Saiyan
246. 10:14Whis
247. 10:15G updated Wuigi yet. Updated Wuigi. That
248. 10:19sounds kind of funny, but you guys know
249. 10:21what I mean. We don't have This is the
250. 10:231.0 and it's okay. You know, the head
251. 10:27sculpt that came on this was pretty
252. 10:29abysmal, but [music] uh we definitely
253. 10:31need an updated version of this. And uh
254. 10:33what I guess better body to start with
255. 10:37than this one. So, if you do guys have
256. 10:39this figure, uh it is from the
257. 10:44resurrection of F. Oh man, that actually
258. 10:47looks really good. I did not expect
259. 10:49that.
260. 10:51Hold on. I'm going to see if I can get
261. 10:53the head to sit a little bit lower
262. 10:54because it does sit a little bit high.
263. 10:58So, if this is what the figure
264. 11:01originally came with with this head
265. 11:03sculpt
266. 11:05m I think this looks really really good.
267. 11:08The shoulders here. Yeah, I don't like
268. 11:10the way how it points on the sides there
269. 11:13of the shoulders. But other than that, I
270. 11:16mean, just, you know, standing up
271. 11:18straight like this, I think this looks
272. 11:19pretty damn good.
273. 11:21I mean, it's funny how a head sculpt can
274. 11:24really change the look of a figure.
275. 11:27Hopefully, again, you know, we do get an
276. 11:30updated version uh of this Wii ski
277. 11:32because I really do like this look for
278. 11:34Goku. I really like the boots. You know,
279. 11:36it's just something really different
280. 11:38from what we're, I guess, used to
281. 11:39seeing, which is uh yeah, really cool.
282. 11:43So, I guess the closest body that we
283. 11:45have to the Whiskey is the Diamond Gee.
284. 11:48So, you know, uh this is a fantastic
285. 11:52figure. It is a little bit slimmer,
286. 11:54which works for Super Saiyan Blue,
287. 11:56especially if you are a manga or, you
288. 11:59know, Toyotaro fan. Uh he does have the
289. 12:02slimmer arm, slimmer neck. It is a
290. 12:04slimmer body compared to the rest of
291. 12:06these other Goku's here. But, um, I
292. 12:09think this is going to be one that, uh,
293. 12:11a lot of people are going to, you know,
294. 12:14try as soon as they get this new blue in
295. 12:18hand. But, uh, yeah, I think this works
296. 12:23pretty well as well. I think this, yeah,
297. 12:25this looks actually really, really good.
298. 12:28Um, this figure is also probably one of
299. 12:31the most articulated Goku bodies out
300. 12:33there, so you can have a lot of fun
301. 12:34posing this guy with his head. the
302. 12:36[snorts] uh unfortunately
303. 12:38the
304. 12:40heads the joints don't fit the sockets,
305. 12:44the ball joints, they're different
306. 12:46sizes, which is kind of frustrating. You
307. 12:48know, it'd be nice if you know all of
308. 12:50the they use the same head uh the neck
309. 12:53the neck joints here. So, we could
310. 12:56actually swap out the heads much easier,
311. 12:58but you know, alas, they are all
312. 13:00different. So, you do have to use some
313. 13:03blue tack, which is what I'm doing right
314. 13:05here,
315. 13:07but it does look really nice. I really
316. 13:09like this look. So, there we go. That's
317. 13:12Diamond Body. Next up, we have the
318. 13:16latest or the
319. 13:19the review that I did
320. 13:21last time. The latest review that I did.
321. 13:24So, if you guys haven't seen this
322. 13:26review, it is the battle damage uh what
323. 13:29are they calling this one again? I don't
324. 13:30remember. the warrior, the fighter of
325. 13:32rage. There we go. It's only been a week
326. 13:34and I already forgot. So, again, the uh
327. 13:37the joint here, the ball joint here is a
328. 13:40little bit too small, so it won't fit.
329. 13:43And again, I'm using some blue tack. But
330. 13:45if you want a tournament of power look
331. 13:47here for Goku,
332. 13:50I think this works really, really well.
333. 13:53This looks fantastic, actually. Good
334. 13:55build. The skin tone is a little bit
335. 13:57off, but um I think this looks
336. 14:00fantastic.
337. 14:02Really, really cool.
338. 14:05So, that is the fighter of rage body.
339. 14:09Pop that over to the side. If you want a
340. 14:12fully,
341. 14:14I guess, shirtless battle damage Goku,
342. 14:16this is the legendary Super Saiyan.
343. 14:19Buffest of them all.
344. 14:23And yeah, that looks pretty damn good as
345. 14:26well. Again, skin tones don't match
346. 14:29perfectly, but uh it is a very buff
347. 14:34looking here for Goku Blue, which is
348. 14:38pretty cool. I like that that works. If
349. 14:41you want a slimmer
350. 14:44version
351. 14:45of your shirtless Goku,
352. 14:49this might do the trick. This is your
353. 14:51Ultra Instinct
354. 14:54Toyotaro Edition
355. 14:57or any of your I guess regular Ultra
356. 15:00Instinct
357. 15:03Goku would work as well, but uh this is
358. 15:05my favorite one. And I think this looks
359. 15:08pretty good as well. You know, it's not
360. 15:10as, you know, huge. It's not as buff as
361. 15:12the legendary Super Saiyan, but uh yeah,
362. 15:15shirtless battle damage Goku.
363. 15:18Pretty good look. I like this.
364. 15:21So, next up we have and this will fit
365. 15:24because all of these guys here, the ones
366. 15:29that are remaining do have the same neck
367. 15:32peg and they should all fit. But because
368. 15:36we're doing this on camera right now, uh
369. 15:38it's going to take a long time. It is a
370. 15:39pain to get the heads to go on these
371. 15:43neck pegs. So, we're just going to use
372. 15:45some blu-tack. So again, if you are into
373. 15:50the manga, if you like that slimmer
374. 15:52Super Saiyan Blue look for Goku, I think
375. 15:55this works really, really well.
376. 15:59Again, the skin tones don't match. We
377. 16:00have this kind of like pinkish reddish
378. 16:02hue for the skin tone because it is
379. 16:04Super Saiyan God Goku's body. But, uh, I
380. 16:07think this looks
381. 16:09really nice.
382. 16:12If you're not a fan of the kanji logos
383. 16:15and you just want a blank
384. 16:18orange and blue ghee
385. 16:22kind Goku works just as good. Again, the
386. 16:27only difference being, you know, the
387. 16:29slight color variation between
388. 16:32the ghee, but everything else, the
389. 16:34sculpt
390. 16:37is exactly the same.
391. 16:39Obviously, you have the logos here with
392. 16:41this Goku. No logos here. So, if you
393. 16:44want a logo less Goku with a similar
394. 16:48color palette, then
395. 16:52this one's the one to go with. Or if you
396. 16:54want a lighter orange, this is the Games
397. 16:58Begin Goku. And I think this one works
398. 17:00pretty good as well. I don't know, maybe
399. 17:02just the turquoise hair looks a little
400. 17:04bit better with
401. 17:06the lighter orange here.
402. 17:10But I think this looks pretty good. All
403. 17:12right, so now it's time to
404. 17:17do some head swaps. Putting some
405. 17:20different Goku heads onto
406. 17:22the Super Saiyan Blue head. Not the
407. 17:24Super Saiyan Blue head. You can't put
408. 17:26heads on heads. The Super Saiyan uh blue
409. 17:29body. All right. So, I want to grab some
410. 17:31more Blu-Tack.
411. 17:33I don't have any more. So, we got to
412. 17:36take it from the head. All right, guys.
413. 17:39This is the Super Saiyan God head
414. 17:40sculpt. Fantastic head sculpt. Fantastic
415. 17:42figure. Probably the best one out of all
416. 17:45the four that we have. Again, the neck
417. 17:47joints do fit. They do share the same
418. 17:50neck joints, but
419. 17:53just to, you know, give you guys a quick
420. 17:56look without wasting more of your time.
421. 18:01thicker body,
422. 18:03you know, more muscular,
423. 18:06broader shoulders. Super Saiyan God. If
424. 18:09you like that look, it works.
425. 18:13We have Super Saiyan Games Begin Goku
426. 18:16head sculpt.
427. 18:20And if you like the Kanji logo,
428. 18:23that looks pretty good as well.
429. 18:27Next up, we're going to put
430. 18:31the
431. 18:33Fighter of Rage
432. 18:35Goku head sculpt on here. And I really
433. 18:37like this head sculpt. It's probably one
434. 18:38of my favorite Super Saiyan head
435. 18:39sculpts. You know, it's just got that
436. 18:41old school kind of manga look to it. It
437. 18:44is battle damage, of course, so you do
438. 18:45get the scuffs and scars on the face,
439. 18:47but I think this looks pretty cool.
440. 18:51It kind of reminds me of the manga
441. 18:53cover. I think it's volume 27 where Goku
442. 18:58had the 27 logo here
443. 19:02on the front. So, looks pretty cool. I
444. 19:05like that.
445. 19:08We also have the legendary Super Saiyan
446. 19:12Super Saiyan head sculpt here if you
447. 19:14like that kind of more I guess
448. 19:18voluminous
449. 19:20kind of look there for Goku for his
450. 19:22Super Saiyan form.
451. 19:25That looks pretty cool, too. I like that
452. 19:29we have Ultra Instinct. This head won't
453. 19:32fit, and you do need some uh Blu-Tack
454. 19:34because
455. 19:36the neck joints are different. But
456. 19:44this is the Toyotari edition Ultra
457. 19:47Instinct head sculpt, and I think this
458. 19:49works pretty well.
459. 19:53The head does sit a little bit high on
460. 19:54the neck, but that's as far as I can get
461. 19:57it down.
462. 20:01Pretty cool. And last but not least, of
463. 20:04course, you know, it's base form Goku.
464. 20:08Whether it's Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball
465. 20:10Super, Dragon Ball Z, you're going to
466. 20:13need a base form head. And this is the
467. 20:15base form head from
468. 20:19I was going to say raised on earth but
469. 20:21the kindhearted Saiyan. And again if you
470. 20:23prefer the logos the kanji logos on the
471. 20:26back and the front
472. 20:28I think this works just as well. So
473. 20:31there we have it guys. If you have any
474. 20:33other combinations that you would like
475. 20:34to see uh let me know. I'll get back to
476. 20:37you if I can. And uh yeah have fun with
477. 20:40it. Try some combinations for yourself.
478. 20:42And as always, you know, I want to see

481. 20:49I can't believe it, but it's taken us 8
482. 20:52years, but we finally have an anime
483. 20:54accurate, updated Super Saiyan Blue
484. 20:56Goku. Yes, he is more or less the games
485. 21:00begin Goku with a couple of new heads
486. 21:02and faces, but that's not the figure's
487. 21:04fault. And it's leagues better than the
488. 21:07Dragon Ball Super Broly release. Also,
489. 21:10if you wanted a more manga look for your
490. 21:11Super Saiyan Blue, you can always use
491. 21:13your god body since the heads are all
492. 21:16interchangeable.
493. 21:18I'll admit blue isn't my favorite Goku
494. 21:20form, but I think Tamashi did a really
495. 21:23good job here and definitely filled in
496. 21:25that empty spot in my collection for
497. 21:27[music] an anime accurate Super Saiyan
498. 21:29Blue Goku. I'm personally really happy
499. 21:32with how this one came out and I can't
500. 21:34help but think how Tamashi will tackle
501. 21:37the other forms. Will Super Saiyan 3 be
502. 21:40a little bit more buff? Will we ever get
503. 21:42an updated Whiskey Goku? And when will
504. 21:45we get another Vegeta? Anyway, that's it
505. 21:48for this review. Plenty, plenty more to
