2. 0:02that much. There are a couple of details
3. 0:04that have changed, but the basics of the
4. 0:06story have remained the same. You talked
5. 0:08to him first. We began. I mean, one
6. 0:11thing we're hearing that's different,
7. 0:12Matt, is that, you know, he told me that
8. 0:15the car was sideswiped when it went over
9. 0:16to and then pulled over to a gas
10. 0:18station. Well, I think when you spoke to
11. 0:19him, it was not sideswiped.
12. 0:21The car was standing still when the
13. 0:22people came up with guns and badges.
14. 0:24Then he talks about, you know, the guy
15. 0:25pulled the gun out and put it to my
16. 0:27head. That did not happen. And there was
17. 0:29no gun to the head. Everybody,
18. 0:31there was a gun, right?
19. 0:32There was a gun.
20. 0:33They all agree on that.
21. 0:34He embellished a little bit, I think,
22. 0:35when he said, you know, he told the guy,
23. 0:37"Look,
24. 0:38I'm not getting down on the ground, and
25. 0:39if you got a gun, you can use it." He
26. 0:41told me that he never had that dirty
27. 0:43Harry moment,
28. 0:44right? What was his demeanor meant when
29. 0:45he was talking to you, explaining it
30. 0:46all?
31. 0:47He was very tired. He was shocked that
32. 0:48this has happened. He talked about that
33. 0:50surveillance tape of the athletes
34. 0:51returning to the athletes village at
35. 0:537:00 or so. The judge says they were
36. 0:56joking and very casual. He says, "We
37. 0:58weren't joking. If anything, we were in
38. 1:00shock. I just had a gun pointed at me
39. 1:01that had never happened before. And by
40. 1:03the way, we I asked him pointedly. I
41. 1:05said, "There's there are skeptics who
42. 1:07think this story was concocted to hide
43. 1:10some kind of other embarrassing
44. 1:11behavior, something you didn't want
45. 1:13people to know about. Were you with
46. 1:15someone you shouldn't be with?" He was
47. 1:17adamant about that, hoodie. He said,
48. 1:18"No, that didn't happen. We wouldn't
49. 1:21make this story up. We were victims and
50. 1:23we're lucky and happy to be safe."
51. 1:25Well, I will tell you this. It's
52. 1:26interesting to me. Ryan Lochi is I spoke
53. 1:28to about 4 hours after he got into
54. 1:30Olympic Village or 5 hours, you know,
55. 1:32they'd been out all night long. He's not
56. 1:34the kind that can weave a brilliant
57. 1:36tale, right?
58. 1:37You know, when he hasn't been out all
59. 1:39night long, pardon me, but so the fact
60. 1:41that he told this story so maleifuously
61. 1:44makes me think, well, he could not have
62. 1:46invented the whole thing.
