3:48Seeing Kendall at the top of the pyramid
3:50makes all this hard work and all the

3:58think Kristie can handle your 9-year-old
4:01beating her 11-year-old who is a
4:03national title holder right now.

6:17I can't believe Cathy's coming this
6:19weekend. I really wanted to revel and
6:21enjoy that Kendall's at the top of the
6:23pyramid. She's going to get special
6:25attention, and now I have to deal with
6:28Cathy, the Wicked Witch of Ohio. We have
6:31a group routine. Everybody's in it. I am
6:34down one dancer.
6:35I cannot afford any weak links.
6:39Kendall, you will be doing a solo again
6:41this weekend.
6:45Paige, I'm going to give you a duet with
6:48Nia.
6:51Now last week you thought your good
6:53wasn't good enough. This is your chance.
6:56Don't blow it. I have one more routine
6:58left. Maddie, you will be doing a solo
7:01this week.
7:03Don't be so elated.
7:05It's like a default, like by process of
7:07elimination. I need somebody that's
7:09going to win. And you can bet that that
7:11boys' group,
7:12one of those boys is going to BE DOING A
7:14SOLO.
7:15It's been so long since Maddie's had a
7:17solo. I hope the added pressure of the
7:19boys and Cathy's team doesn't rattle
7:22her. Everybody needs to be outstanding.

7:32that stage
7:33and screw up and we don't win,
7:35I might replace everybody.

8:03Nia, that you are the wallflower. And
8:06Paige is the wild child. My duet this
8:09week is called the wild child and the
8:11wallflower. I play the wallflower. I'm
8:13kind of shy and quiet, kind of how I am.
8:17Twist and lunge off the chair this way.
8:21Boom. Twist, but you're not going to
8:22stand all the way up. You're not going
8:24to stand up. You're just going to kind
8:25of shh
8:27Yes. Boom.
8:29So, do you think Nia is excited about
8:31the duet? Oh my goodness, she is
8:33thrilled, but at the same time, Nia is
8:36very nervous about it, too. Why? Well,
8:39when Nia gets stressed,
8:42she can have a tendency of having a
8:44relapse with her pain management
8:45disorder.
8:46So, do you think it's stress-related,
8:47then?
8:47It's usually stress-related. Stressful
8:49situations will trigger that. And
8:51there's You don't have an injury. Like,
8:52that's the whole kicker of the thing.
8:54Nia suffers from a neurological disorder
8:56called reflex neurovascular dystrophy or
8:59RSD, and there's a direct correlation to
9:01stress. So, when Nia is in a stressful
9:03environment, I get very concerned.
9:06That is strange.
9:07very, very strange. But, they say
9:09there's a certain type of kid that may
9:11be predisposed to having a kid who is
9:14like a perfectionist, the type A kind of
9:16personality, overachiever kind of kids.
9:19Oh, really? Is that what the
9:21Isn't that weird?
9:22I'm surprised Maddie doesn't have a Shut
9:24up, Melissa. Does everything have to be
9:26about your child? I just wish Kristie
9:28was here, cuz she would have something
9:29funny to say and make us all laugh.
9:31There are just kids who are predis-
9:34predisposed to it.
9:35But, she can have this for the rest of
9:37her life. It's one of those things that
9:38she'll have forever. And it's not been
9:40for 2 years.
9:41for Yeah, it's been 2 years without it.
9:44Oh god, well, please don't make it
9:45happen over a duet. Well, I I wouldn't.
9:47It's not the duet.

10:00This is the third time I'm yelling at

10:13Let me just take her to the ER and be
10:15done with it. Nia's been complaining
10:16recently of her foot hurting, and
10:18because she has CRND, we take pain very
10:21seriously. And I have to be sure whether
10:24this is a pain related to injury or is
10:26this a pain related to stress.
10:28Obviously, she's in some discomfort, and
10:31she injured her toe. Like, there's no
10:32question about that, but they said
10:34there's it's not fractured. They don't
10:36worry about it. She'll be fine. So, you
10:39need to get your brain in your head. I'm
10:40speaking English. You know English.
10:42Let's do it.
10:51So, how is everybody? Good.
10:53Mom, it looks like you're outnumbered
10:56now. We have all of these handsome
10:57gentlemen that are standing with us. So
10:59happy to see all of you. Listen, we're
11:01going to Detroit this weekend because
11:04guess who we're going to go try and
11:06find. Abby. What do you guys think about
11:09what happened last time? Um we got We
11:11got ripped off.

11:14really dropped Abby to her knees.
11:17She Well, maybe she's not able to drop
11:20to her knees, but maybe her cankles
11:22shouldn't

11:56So at the top and also doing a solo this
11:59week is my hot young lad from Miami,
12:03Gino.
12:05So with that being said, number two
12:07tries harder. So I need game faces on.
12:10We are not a dance team that takes off
12:12their hats and the curls come tumbling.
12:15We are an army.
12:16Ready for war. GOOD.
12:19GOOD. I like that.
12:30On a one to 10, 10 being the highest,
12:33one being the lowest, what's the pain in
12:35this foot right now? It would be a
12:37seven. A seven's
12:39too high for me cuz that means you're
12:42feeling pain while you're dancing and
12:44you're feeling pain more often than not.
12:48Nia has been treated for RND, which is
12:50reflexive neurovascular disorder, which
12:53is basically a pain management disorder.
12:55Three summers ago, Nia woke up with
12:58excruciating pain. Nia couldn't walk.
13:00Nia was in a wheelchair. She was
13:02hospital bound. Came on suddenly. Nia
13:05was basically out of dance. My sense is
13:08that it it reminds me when you were back
13:10in the hospital. Is that scaring you a
13:12little bit? Yeah. Nia had managed her
13:14pain really well on a regular basis.
13:17But if she's in a stressful situation
13:20it can become inflamed. What do you
13:23think is stressing you out in
13:23particular?
13:25I'm just kind of afraid my best isn't
13:27good enough right now.
13:29You can't give up. You more than anyone
13:32else on that team deserves a spot
13:33because you worked 10 times as hard. No
13:37one else on that team was in a
13:38wheelchair. You didn't know if you were
13:39ever going to dance and now you're
13:41dancing.
13:42You owe that to yourself. Okay?
13:46Every day Nia wakes up,
13:48she proves to me that this is a kid
13:51who's a fighter. She's a kid who wants
13:55to live every moment of her life to the
13:57fullest. What do you think about the
13:59duet? You excited?
14:01I like seeing that light in your eyes.
14:04You look happy.
14:06You look excited about it.
14:08I think for a moment you forgot
14:11about your pain in your foot.
14:13And you remembered the joy of just
14:15dancing.

14:43Avalanche. It's about burying them
14:46alive.
14:47So we have these sharp little ski
14:49bunnies trekking up the mountain,
14:52propelling down the mountain. Somebody
14:54misses a step.
14:56There's an avalanche, everybody drops
14:59like flies. Wow, did you see that?
15:02I never saw that.
15:04That's all new stuff.
15:05Watch out boys, the girls are coming to
15:07get you. Wouldn't it be great if we
15:11two times in a row. And why don't you
15:13get up on the prop?
15:15Where is the problem? I told your
15:17mothers to get that problem. Where's the
15:19prop?
15:21Let's get that prop.
15:22I'll go and look for the prop. Melissa,
15:24you know where it is. We have a very
15:25large, white, heavy, wooden prop, and
15:28it's going to serve as our mountain. And
15:30the survivor of the avalanche runs up to
15:33the top of that mountain and looks back
15:35at all the people that are no longer
15:37with her. So, this is like the mountain,
15:40and you're trying every which way to get
15:41up it. I'm just not getting anything
15:43from you guys. I need a kid
15:46like that's going to think outside the
15:47box. Can you slide through there?
15:49Oh, look. Look.
15:50Look. Oh my god, she's the only skinny
15:52one who can fit through there.
15:54What is that?
15:55Look how beautiful she looks. Even
15:57playing dead, she's beautiful. We wanted
16:00somebody to be found like they were
16:02dead, and I said, "Who can I make blue?"
16:05And Dee said,
16:06"Paige would be the easiest to just
16:08because she's the fairest." I don't want
16:10her painted blue. Yeah, that's what the
16:12girls were saying. I don't want her
16:13painted blue. Hello.
16:16Hello. It's about time you got back
16:18here. Well, she shot me. Did you see
16:19that? All right, listen. I want to hear
16:21all about everything, but right now, we
16:24have a group routine to do, and I'm down
16:26a person, so you're in the group.
16:27Unbeknownst to me,
16:29Jackie and Sophia show back up in
16:31Pittsburgh. But, you know what? I told
16:33Jackie, "Anytime that Sophia is
16:35available and wants to be part of the
16:37Abby Lee Dance Company competition team,
16:39she's more than welcome." All right,
16:41Sophia, welcome to the avalanche. Yeah,
16:44we didn't know you were coming. Now that
16:46Jackie and Sophia show up, I'm not real
16:48thrilled that they're here. Um, I'm just
16:51hoping that, you know, Sophia doesn't
16:53take Maddie's solo away.
16:55So, was this a surprise for Abby? Did
16:56she know you were coming? We've been
16:58trying to come back um for a few weeks
17:00now, and then it just becomes like such
17:02short notice, and I'm like, "Oh, I'll
17:03try." And then something will come up,
17:05and I'll be like, "I can't." And so, I
17:06think she was disappointed, and I was
17:07actually afraid that she'd be upset with
17:09me. I'm sure anytime you arrive, she
17:11would be welcome you with open arms.
17:13Sophia does movies and commercials and
17:15things like that, and I have been
17:17wanting to get Jackie alone to ask her
17:19for some of her contacts that maybe I
17:22can contact them and see if they would
17:24be interested in my kids.
17:25I've actually been meaning to call you.
17:27I have Well, Brooke likes to sing and
17:29Paige likes to do modeling and
17:32I want to try to get like their name out
17:34there and I want to get some contacts
17:35out in LA and stuff.
17:36Oh, yeah. Yeah. And I didn't know if you
17:37would be able to get me Yeah, I'll give
17:39you a few of these agents' number. I
17:40think Jackie is a really nice lady and
17:43you know, we seem to have a lot in
17:44common. We both want our kids to do more
17:47than just dance. We want them,
17:50you know, to get further in this career.
17:52It's been a crazy week. I feel so bad
17:54about all this crap with Christi. You
17:56know, all I did was say her hat dropped.
17:58It wasn't like Yeah.
18:00No, I feel bad for you. I'm sorry. It's
18:02been crazy here. My god, like Maddie
18:04hasn't had a solo since you've been
18:06gone.

18:09with Christi and Melissa, they have
18:11something to lose by Sophia being here.

18:41I want you to dazzle me more
18:44than you did the last time. This weekend
18:46the routine that the boys are doing is
18:48called top of the world. They are doing
18:50jazz, hip hop, acrobatic, and there's a
18:54lot of personality involved. They're
18:55ultimately telling a story in this
18:57dance. And I think that those kind of
18:59dances are the ones that usually are the
19:02most captivating.
19:04They're all kind of looking at a
19:05magazine that they got. So, they're
19:07dancing with a magazine and just oogling
19:10over this girl that they wish that they
19:11could have as a girlfriend.
19:13Fine, it's got to be stage personality.
19:16Keep motivated.
19:24Face it.
19:28That's seven in.
19:36Even though our team has just come
19:38together, there's already a bond,
19:41there's already a unity. I like the
19:42boys, they like me. But overall, it's
19:45kind of fun to be surrounded by dance
19:47dads, so I'm just feeling confident now.

19:52it looked good, did it look great? No.
19:55No, not even close. It looked better by
19:58a tenth of a point. It looked better. I
20:01get it. Yeah, good. I'm glad you got it.

20:06and I want you to get fueled back up,

20:09work harder than you did this morning.

20:26When we arrived, I found out that Abby
20:28wanted to give Sophia a solo. I knew
20:29that she could pick up the choreography
20:31and that she would be fine, but I was
20:32worried that if Abby did give her one,
20:34that there would be, you know, tension
20:36and I didn't want to have that. Hey, so
20:38you know how Abby said she's going to
20:39tell the moms about what was going on
20:42with the solos, how somebody's not going
20:44to have a solo this week, and she gave
20:46it to you. I know it's like really
20:48uncomfortable cuz we normally would
20:50never do that, like ever. So, just let
20:53Abby handle it, and um
20:55I don't know who she's taking it away
20:56from, and I feel awful. So, whenever we
20:59find out, make sure that you go over and
21:01you say I'm sorry,
21:03and I don't know, just try to make the
21:06best of it. Okay. Okay?
21:08I know. I just want you to be
21:10not concerned about winning or losing,
21:12just doing your best.
21:13I never cared about winning or losing.
21:15It's usually about me trying my best.

21:33letting her sit dance sit there

21:41me recently. Why? About her feet. This
21:44time it's just like she's just has been
21:46complaining about one foot. Said it hurt
21:48a lot the other day. Not excruciating
21:50that she couldn't dance. When did it
21:52start?
21:55You know, when I really started noticing
21:56was really after that competition.
21:59As a mom, you can just tell when
22:01something's a little off with your
22:02child. And I can see Nia's favoring one
22:04foot over the other since the last dance
22:05competition. Oh, Christi's calling.
22:09Is she? I don't get how she returns your
22:11phone call, but doesn't return mine.
22:13When you had an argument with her, you
22:15at least you you like said something
22:17smart back to her. Like, don't talk to
22:18me that way or something. I sat there.
22:21Maybe she just sees it as this is
22:22business. I think Christi I think
22:24Christi separates the two. Like,
22:26business is business and friendship is
22:28friendship. I'm mad Christi hasn't
22:30called me back. I keep reaching out to
22:32her and
22:34I get nothing. And it hurts.

22:43Uh she just went down to see Kendall. Or
22:45Abby. I want to know what went on with

22:53Maddie always gets more rehearsal time.
22:55It's just a given. Always did and always
22:59will. Her number could be finished
23:01already if we didn't have to go over
23:03things and over things and over things.

23:06She'll learn the number and she'll do it
23:07to the best of her ability. This is a
23:09big week for Kendall. She's on top of
23:11the pyramid the same week that Maddie
23:13gets a solo, Sophia comes back,
23:17and we're going up against Cathy.
23:19It's too much pressure for Kendall and
23:21it shows. She's just good, Jill. Give
23:23the kid credit.
23:24I know SHE'S GOOD. SHE'S GOOD AND SHE'S

24:49Jackie clearly is not used to Abby's
24:51methods of teaching. When Abby was
24:53yelling at Kendall, you could see that
24:55Jackie was uncomfortable.
24:57And maybe that's why Jackie and Sophia
