Full transcript
- 0:00Last summer, the NSA director was at a
- 0:02conference and he was asked a question
- 0:04about the NSA surveillance of Americans.
- 0:08He replied, and I quote here, "The story
- 0:10that we have millions or hundreds of
- 0:12millions of dossiers on people is
- 0:16completely false." The reason I'm asking
- 0:18the question is having served on the
- 0:20committee now for a dozen years,
- 0:22I don't really know what a dossier is in
- 0:26this context. So, what I wanted to see
- 0:29is if you could give me a yes or no
- 0:31answer to the question, does the NSA
- 0:34collect any type of data at all on
- 0:37millions or hundreds of millions of
- 0:40Americans?
- 0:41No, sir.
- 0:43It does not.
- 0:46Not willingly.
- 0:48There are cases where they could
- 0:49inadvertently,
- 0:51perhaps,
- 0:52uh, collect, but not not willingly.
- 0:55All right.
