  1. 0:01what I want to bring to your attention
  2. 0:04is the fact that we are not shining a
  3. 0:07light strong enough on the fact that
  4. 0:11there is a solution possible and that
  5. 0:14there is negotiations that have got to
  6. 0:16be accelerated and reinforced and that
  7. 0:20those who are being held against their
  8. 0:24will those under duress those being
  9. 0:27tortured those being displaced refugees
  10. 0:30bring back to me so many memories of
  11. 0:33what I saw for millions in Rwanda up to
  12. 0:374 million in Iran de and the scale that
  13. 0:42is being repeated in Syria and yet we
  14. 0:46still haven't built this sense of
  15. 0:48urgency of truly wanting to bring
  16. 0:50solutions and conclusions to it and so
  17. 0:54today through pictures through scenes we
  18. 0:59hope to bring to the attention of
  19. 1:01parliamentarians and Canadians the true
  20. 1:04suffering of human beings that are
  21. 1:08caught in the middle of this Maelstrom
  22. 1:10that we are fiddling with instead of
  23. 1:13trying to resolve and I would argue that
  24. 1:16it is significant that we use as a
  25. 1:19premise that we've learned since Rwanda
  26. 1:21that all humans are human every one of
  27. 1:26them over there counts as much as here
  28. 1:29and when I was in Jordan last summer in
  29. 1:32a Syrian refugee camp and arguing with
  30. 1:36young 13 year old Syrians were being
  31. 1:38recruited to go fight in a Free Syrian
  32. 1:40Army and proving that they were nothing
  33. 1:43more than cannon fodder when a society
  34. 1:45uses children as cannon fodder for a
  35. 1:48desperate cause like that it is a
  36. 1:50disgrace to humanity and we are part of
  37. 1:54letting that disgrace perpetuate itself
