- 1:12Brother Roberts, we can talk for days.
- 1:14- Yes, I know...
- 1:15He put education and spirituality together.
- 1:19The early Pentecostal started.
- 1:20If you got educated, you lose your anointing
- 1:22because they sent their kids to schools,
- 1:26that taught against what the parents taught them and the pastor taught them
- 1:29instead of figuring out.
- 1:30The school was the problem.
- 1:31They thought it was education that was the problem
- 1:34so they didn't want you to be educated
- 1:36so Oral Roberts comes on and says,
- 1:38"We are going to build an university
- 1:40built on the authority of the Holy Spirit and God's Word
- 1:43where you can "Get your learning and keep you burning"
- 1:45was their first slogan,
- 1:47educating the whole man, spirit, soul and body
- 1:49so he did all those things
- 1:51and then he also helped changed--
- 1:52He and Kenneth Hagin probably did more to change the theology
- 1:56of the Full Gospel movement than any two people alive.
- 1:59- Okay. Kenneth Hagin.
- 2:01Mark 5.
- 2:02"For she said, if I may touch His clothes,
- 2:07I shall be whole".
- 2:09And He said, that's Jesus said unto her,
- 2:12"Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole.
- 2:18Go in peace and be whole of thy plague".
- 2:24Now 2 things I want you so see.
- 2:28What she said then was her faith speaking, wasn't it?
- 2:32I said, wasn't it?
- 2:34Wasn't it?
- 2:36[Church answering] - Yes.
- 2:37- Now what you say is your faith speaking.
- 2:39Notice the 2 blind men.
- 2:40What they said was their faith speaking, wasn't it?
- 2:44Jesus said, "Believe ye that I am able to do this?
- 2:46They said, "Yea, Lord", or yes Lord.
- 2:48"Then touched he their eyes,
- 2:51saying, according to your faith
- 2:56be it unto you".
- 2:58So what they said was their faith speaking.
- 3:01What you say is your faith speaking.
- 3:03Now, here is the other thing.
- 3:05What did they get? Each one of them? What did they get?
- 3:07What did this woman with the issue of blood receive?
- 3:11What she said...
- 3:13Go back to what Jesus said in Mark 11:23,
- 3:16"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say
- 3:17unto this mountain, Be thou removed,
- 3:19and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart,
- 3:21but shall believe that those things which he saith
- 3:22shall come to pass;
- 3:24He shall have? He shall have? He shall have?
- 3:27What?
- 3:29What?
- 3:30[Church]
- 3:31- Whatsoever he saith.
- 3:34You notice how "saying" and "believing" is hooked together,
- 3:38joined together. Did you notice that?
- 3:40I mean in connection with healing.
- 3:43Now the same thing would be true.
- 3:45You see, exercising faith in any other realm
- 3:47would be the same as exercising faith and healing.
- 3:49All vice versa,
- 3:50exercising faith and healing would be the same
- 3:52as exercising faith in any other realm, wouldn't it?
- 3:56Well now the Bible tells us, "In the mouth of two or three witnesses
- 4:01shall ever word be established".
- 4:04I don't know about you but I like to establish
- 4:06what I'm preaching with the Word of God.
- 4:11- Another man that was dying here in Texas,
- 4:14uh--that his personality would be such
- 4:18not to lend him to become who he became.
- 4:21He was socially, I would say in my opinion,
- 4:24a little dysfunctional.
- 4:26I spent few times with him and I know our audience
- 4:28may get mad at me for saying this but bear with me.
- 4:31He was wonderful under the anointing
- 4:34but when you met him privately, he was very quiet and calm.
- 4:37A man of few words.
- 4:38- He was.
- 4:39- And part of that in my opinion was because
- 4:41when you're growing up and you learn social skills
- 4:44and you learn dating skills, you learn playing with your friends,
- 4:48he was home dying in bed.
- 4:51- Yea.
- 4:52- So God healed him, reading his Bible
- 4:56and called him to teach faith and raised him up
- 4:58and so my interactions with him has always been respect.
- 5:01I grew up in Tulsa and so I'm "Haginite".
- 5:03- Sure.
- 5:04Hagin and brother "Copelanite". I both love them.
- 5:05I remember back when I was a kid.
- 5:07and so he becomes the man that's called to do one thing.
- 5:10"Go teach my people faith"
- 5:12and the greats are the ones that stick to their main calling.
- 5:16So that's a true title for brother Hagin.
- 5:18The father of the Word of Faith movement
- 5:19even though some of the Faith people don't like that title,
- 5:22I think it's an honorable title.
- 5:24I think it should be worn with respect
- 5:26because he obeyed what God said
- 5:29and birth the whole movement to bring integrity back
- 5:31to the word of God and if you put faith in the Scriptures,
- 5:34the Scripture results will come about.
- 5:36That's Kenneth Hagin.
- 5:37He died well.
- 5:38He died fullfilling all things.
- 5:40He will go down in changing Full Gospel
- 5:43and evangelical theology more than people know.
- 5:46When you listen today to even up to Full Gospel,
- 5:49their preaching...
- 5:50you can have what you say messages in different terms
- 5:53so all this stuff against brother Hagin and brother Copeland,
- 5:56it's for the birds.
- 5:57Everybody's preaching it so get over it.
- 5:59Here it is.
- 6:00- Ha ha, that's right. Amen to that.
- 6:01- So that in a nutshell.
- 6:02- All right, let's go next.
- 6:05Maria Woodworth-Etter.
- 6:06Another one that--I'd liked to have met Mother Etter.
- 6:11She began that great healing mantle
- 6:14that we admire on Benny Hinn and Ms. Kuhlman back in the 1800s.
- 6:19She married a Civil War veteran that they tried to be farmers
- 6:24and were not too good at it.
- 6:25They had children and all but one died.
- 6:28A little girl survived named Lizzie...Elizabeth,
- 6:31and finally when farming wasn't working,
- 6:33they said, "Why don't we try the ministry"?
- 6:36Because she had a calling from a young age
- 6:37and we have to realize, women in ministry in the 1800s
- 6:41that didn't exist,
- 6:42specially with the kind that Etter was going to be
- 6:45so she came along and got ordained by being persistent
- 6:49and being an obnoxious woman
- 6:51in this little network in Ohio area--Indiana,
- 6:54so they ordained her and sent her to a place called the devil's den
- 6:59because every preacher that was sent there collapsed,
- 7:01they didn't do well.
- 7:02So they thought we will ordain her,
- 7:04she'll go there and she will quit because it won't work
- 7:07and she'll leave us alone.
- 7:09Well they didn't realize they just sent the greatest advertisement.
- 7:12To town was a woman preacher.
- 7:13It was theatrical.
- 7:15They came to see a woman preach the gospel
- 7:18because it was a man's job
- 7:19so the meetings begin to grow to see this oddity
- 7:22- Yea,
- 7:23- and the Word began to work and ignite the heart
- 7:26and people began to get saved so she built a church
- 7:28and led it with a 200 membership Sunday school.
- 7:31Now I will give the denomination of the network
- 7:33that ordained her credit
- 7:34because then they recognized
- 7:36this woman's for real and they got behind her
- 7:38so we have to salute them for having enough guts to change
- 7:42and get behind it.
- 7:43So she had all 9 gifts of the Spirit flowing in her meetings before Azusa street.
- 7:48So she predates the outpouring of modern Pentecostalism
- 7:52with all of its gifts and graces in her meetings.
- 7:54That's why early Pentecostals like
- 7:56Bosworth and these once, looked over her
- 7:58and called her the grandmother
- 8:00of the Pentecostal movement.
- 8:01They looked to her for advice and counsel,
- 8:04how to flow better in the Spirit, to be more accurate
- 8:07and she died well.
- 8:08She was known for miracles and trance evangelism
- 8:13was the sarcastic name that people gave her,
- 8:16which was something that had happened
- 8:18in the beginning, a shock to her.
- 8:20While she'd be preaching, people would fall into trances
- 8:23in her meetings include herself at times
- 8:26and they were men and women, young and old,
- 8:28saved and unsaved and so it would be for a short amount of times,
- 8:31so it would be for quite lengthy times
- 8:33and so that was something that was unusual.
- 8:37In those days, Pentecostalism
- 8:40was looked upon as a mental illness,
- 8:42- Right,
- 8:42- so we have a record
- 8:44of the police coming into her tent to take children
- 8:47out of the tent to save them
- 8:49from this disease or this weirdness.
- 8:53- So they thought it was like a cult?
- 8:54- A cult or it was actual-- a physiological disease
- 8:57or mental disease, order that could be transmitted.
- 9:00They didn't know.
- 9:01- I understand.
- 9:02- So you have that even with Pentecostal churches,
- 9:04social services would come and take children away
- 9:07or sometimes, they even arrested Mother Etter
- 9:10and put her in jail for a few times.
- 9:12So she actually towards the end of her life
- 9:15went to Indianapolis, Indiana, built a church of 500 people
- 9:19which in those days was a megachurch
- 9:21and some of the quotes we have of brother Wigglesworth,
- 9:23are actually Etter quotes that he would use from her sermons
- 9:26and so we think they're Smith's but really
- 9:29he borrowed them from Mother Etter.
- 9:30- Yea.
- 9:31- But she died well.
- 9:3328-year-old lady evangelist, Amy McPherson
- 9:36would come to visit her towards the end of her life
- 9:39and recalls she wanted to see this famous Etter
- 9:43and there was a quarantine over in Indianapolis
- 9:45and they told Mrs. McPherson that
- 9:47you can't get them here
- 9:48because there is a spread of a smallpox or something
- 9:51and she goes, "When I get to the border,
- 9:53you know, be lifted" so when Amy drove into town,
- 9:55they lifted the quarantine about an hour before.
- 9:58And they would spent a day and a night to hear Mother Etter preach.
- 10:01I asked Amy Sumrall the question, "What does your mom remember
- 10:05about you know, Mother Etter"?
- 10:08And the quote was, "She wasn't that impressed".
- 10:10- Ha ha.
- 10:11- And so just a little bit of fun trivia for you.
- 10:13One time, some of Etter--at a place where Amy was preaching,
- 10:17the Etter teams goes,
- 10:19"You want to go hear Amy"? And Etter goes,
- 10:21"She is too theatrical for me".
- 10:23So you hear 2 people that are full of high drama
- 10:26and you can still see personality.
- 10:28I don't care how knowledged you are,
- 10:30how great, you still have your personal things
- 10:32that I thought was unique.
- 10:34Mother Etter calling Mrs. McPherson too dramatic,
- 10:36like Mother Etter wasn't dramatic?
- 10:38Come one.
- 10:39So it's beautiful how these things interact
- 10:41and you hear these little stories because
- 10:42we still hear these things today about
- 10:44some of our heroes meet each other
- 10:45and their take on them but it's funny.
- 10:48She died well.
- 10:49Her first husband was divorced and then
- 10:52she married Mr. Etter. Samuel was a wonderful man
- 10:56and was a minister of helps kind of person,
- 10:57loved what he did.
- 10:59She buried both husbands and all of her children
- 11:03before she died.
- 11:04So she did have a little bit of a rough life
- 11:07so but you know, I can talk forever on Mrs. Etter
- 11:10- Okay, let's pick up with another great and
- 11:17I'm a little hesitant to go here because of all
- 11:20this can derail for a long time but let's talk about
- 11:24one of our favorites which Kathryn Kuhlman.
- 11:27He is giving me a love that is so priceless.
- 11:33I guard it as carefully as what would God's jewel--
- 11:39The most expensive jewel in the world.
- 11:43Think of the most expensive gem in the world
- 11:48and it's garded carefully.
- 11:52And the things that I got so carefully
- 11:56is this priceless jewel that I have.
- 11:59My love for the masses.
- 12:05My love for people but it's a supernatural love.
- 12:10I tell you the God's truth
- 12:14that I have stood before someone for whom I'm to pray,
- 12:18knowing that I had no healing virtue,
- 12:22knowing that I had no power to heal that one.
- 12:27And there was an overpowering love
- 12:30for that one
- 12:33where literally I had prayed silently.
- 12:37If it cost me my life,
- 12:44please heal that one.
- 12:47Something I can't explain to you.
- 12:51It's something spiritual.
- 12:55It's something that is spiritual,
- 12:57something you, young people may never know what I'm talking about.
- 13:00Some may never know what I'm talking about.
- 13:03Some may never know.
- 13:07I saw her 3 times as a little boy.
- 13:08I met her once as a little boy.
- 13:12She is the greatest preacher
- 13:14I've ever seen in my life.
- 13:16- Why?
- 13:17- Well and I've seen them all since I was a little boy.
- 13:21I grew up running through Oral Roberts' house in my diaper
- 13:24so I was with all of them
- 13:25and since the age of 13, I've traveled the world
- 13:28so when I say the greatest...
- 13:29The greatest thing because well, I have to say,
- 13:341- She was thankful God gave her a second chance.
- 13:38At the foundation of the Kathryn that we know was,
- 13:41first, she was thankful that she had a second chance
- 13:46because God didn't have to do that for her.
- 13:48She messed up very bad and lost everything
- 13:51and God is a God of a second chance.
- 13:53-Yea.
- 13:55- To me the greatest story of Kathryn, it's not the miracles,
- 13:56it was the second chance.
- 13:58So she was always grateful. 2- She adored Jesus Christ
- 14:06with all of her heart and had the true most tremendous honor
- 14:11and respect for the Holy Spirit who Jesus sent
- 14:15that when she talked about the Holy Spirit,
- 14:17you could not jester or make fun of Him
- 14:19in any fashion or form, she would correct you.
- 14:22Her disposition and honor for Him was
- 14:26one of the things that when she walk out on that stage
- 14:29wherever it was and she looked up,
- 14:32there was no other way but for the Lord Himself and the Holy Spirit
- 14:36to come to meet Ms. Kuhlman honor and faith in Him
- 14:41and by that relationship,
- 14:42it exploded into the crowd with miracles.
- 14:46That's a way to say it.
- 14:47God gave her an anointing and a gift
- 14:53that she protected with her life.
- 14:56She never allowed it to be merchandised.
- 14:59She didn't allow it to be...
- 15:00Now she was theatrical.
- 15:02She was very eccentric in some ways, which I think
- 15:07with the whole package but in her heart,
- 15:11it was like that.
- 15:13and she never left her calling.
- 15:16So many preachers begin well and when they get successfull,
- 15:19when they get money,
- 15:20then they think they can do anything they want to do.
- 15:22and then they wonder why the beginning miracle stages
- 15:24and the beginning stuff fades away.
- 15:27Well it left because you left it.
- 15:29- Um.
- 15:31- Ms. Kuhlman, when it came, she never left it
- 15:34and she did it the same way almost every time.
- 15:38Those are some reasons and she told you the secret
- 15:42but nobody heard her.
- 15:44"I have no healing power.
- 15:46I have no healing virtue.
- 15:50I have nothing.
- 15:51I am nothing". And that right there.
- 15:55"I'm nothing without Him".
- 15:57Don't grieve the Holy Spirit
- 16:00because I have nothing to give you.
- 16:02If He leaves, I'm nothing".
- 16:04And the way she ended her services,
- 16:05it's when the Holy Spirit left the room, she quit.
- 16:08That's why they went 3, 4, 5, 6 hours.
- 16:10As long as the Holy Spirit was working,
- 16:12she'd float.
- 16:13As soon as she detected He was leaving,
- 16:15she closed it and went off.
- 16:17And she had beautiful services.
- 16:23Some people have powerful services,
- 16:25-- meetings.
- 16:27She had beautiful.
- 16:30The beauty of God was there.
- 16:33You know, I miss her, I miss her all the time.
- 16:37- Isn't not amazing even now when you pull up an old video,
- 16:41I've told people on this program.
- 16:43It's like you still pull it up.
- 16:46- He shows up.
- 16:47You're like...What? What's going to happen?
- 16:49We would say, you're mesmerized by her
- 16:54and what is she going to do next? And
- 16:55what's going to happen?
- 16:56I mean that all thing was resonating.
- 16:59It's still there on the videos, you know as she is teaching.
- 17:02- When I go tell all the "generals" stories,
- 17:04I keep her for the last one because when I tell it,
- 17:07that anointing or I called the theme comes in,
- 17:10- Yea...
- 17:11And people start crying.
- 17:12In China, all over the world, when I tell her story, wooh!
- 17:16It comes in the room and it is
- 17:19the uniqueness of her story.
- 17:21I don't know why or I have ideas but
- 17:24I don't have for sure but that anointing...
- 17:27Plus Kathryn Kuhlman died.
- 17:30People don't believe it because she was so theatrical.
- 17:32How can you say you die with all that drama?
- 17:33- Right.
- 17:34- But she knew better than anybody else
- 17:36that she had nothing to do with it.
- 17:37- Yea.
- 17:38- And she knew very very much that she,
- 17:40"I have nothing".
- 17:41They asked her, "Why don't you write
- 17:42a teaching book"?
- 17:43She goes, "I don't know,
- 17:45I don't know enough to talk about that.
- 17:47I mean, I'll say something,
- 17:48He'll do something different next week.
- 17:49You can't follow a formula.
- 17:53- See right there is light years ahead of so many
- 17:58that we've seen. They try to come up--
- 18:00they try to come up with this is the way it's going to work.
- 18:03Into this day, we see ministries and churches, pastors,
- 18:07"Oh, that's the way it worked last Sunday,
- 18:08This is the way we do it this Sunday
- 18:10and that's just not the case.
- 18:12- Well the problem with people today,
- 18:13they don't know the Lord, they know the mechanics of ministry
- 18:16and that's the biggest disgusting problem of today.
- 18:18- So how do you know the Lord and not know the ministry?
- 18:21- What does He want to do?
- 18:22- Right.
- 18:23- You have to spend time with Him in prayer, and in His Word
- 18:25and not following the latest trend...
- 18:27All these guys we talk about, another common thing is,
- 18:30there wasn't a formula.
- 18:31The formula was they knew Him,
- 18:34they cherished whatever anointing God gave them
- 18:36and they followed that cloud for that moment.
- 18:39They did, they did.
- 18:40You know, have a service and be done in 20 minutes.
- 18:43Are you kidding me?
- 18:44The Holy Spirit does not obey the clock.
- 18:47When revival shows up, and the glory shows up.
- 18:50The first thing that disappears is time.
- 18:51- Right.
- 18:52As long as you are conscious of time,
- 18:54you're in the flesh.
- 18:55The sooner you enter into the realm of the Spirit
- 18:56and the glory cloud comes, there is a move of God,
- 18:58time disappears.
- 19:00We went to Kathryn Kuhlman meetings
- 19:02and got mad but it was over four hours later.
- 19:05We thought it was 30 minutes.
- 19:05I was a kid.
- 19:07Kids didn't leave the auditorium.
- 19:09You didn't go to the bathroom.
- 19:10You didn't leave the room.
- 19:12You sit there and I can still remember.
- 19:14Coming out on stage and she cried half the time.
- 19:17She cried and cried and cried and all of a sudden,
- 19:19woom! And people started getting healed
- 19:21all of the room and no one touched them.
- 19:24There was no, there was no this emotional hype.
- 19:27People sitting there, thinking
- 19:28she was a witch, got healed.
- 19:31Just sitting out there and she had a great word of knowledge
- 19:33and woom! She could nail it
- 19:35and someone up there on the third, from the top
- 19:37on the fourth, boom!
- 19:38She could hit it like that.
- 19:39Her word of knowledge was phenomenal
- 19:41with accuracy and so I saw...
- 19:44I saw people get out of wheelchairs.
- 19:46Not 2 or 3! 15 or 20 in one time.
- 19:48Get up and walk out without anybody touching them.
- 19:52Now I haven't seen that since.
- 19:54I've seen 1 or 2, even in my own life,
- 19:57I'm like, "Can it be a little bit better but
- 19:59you know, I compare all the things to Ms. Kuhlman
- 20:01because that's where I saw the greatest
- 20:02amount of miracles in one service.
- 20:05And to me, it's not also what you saw
- 20:07in Kathryn's meetings that was great,
- 20:08it's what you felt for 4 or 5 hours.
- 20:11Her anointing would come in
- 20:12and it didn't do this.
- 20:14When she walked in, it began to accelerate
- 20:17and it stayed that way for the whole time
- 20:19and you could...I remember
- 20:20my whole body quivering just enough
- 20:23when you could feel it all over:
- 20:24your chest, your legs, your feet, your arms
- 20:27because of that presence and you could hear
- 20:31the sound of the presence of God.
- 20:33See, everybody talks about it.
- 20:34Please there is a sound of God's presence.
- 20:37- Absolutely.
- 20:38- And in that meeting, you could hear a low...
- 20:39We thought it was the air conditioning coming on.
- 20:41You thought, you could hear that low rumble,
- 20:44that low little-- just enough
- 20:45that you could hear, wooh...
- 20:47You could hear that sound and you walked out of there,
- 20:50you could tell there was a difference
- 20:51and all the old timers--check with the Kuhlman--Kuhlmanites
- 20:56and they think, "If you really know Kathryn,
- 20:58then they'll ask this question.
- 20:59"Did you hear it"?
- 21:02Well and I said, "If you are talking about the sound, yes".
- 21:04And that's how I want because I identify as a little kid,
- 21:07the sound of the presence of God in her meetings
- 21:09because most people just talk about the miracles
- 21:11but if you are really a student of Kathryn,
- 21:14you'll know about the sound.
- 21:16So that's how the old-timers.
- 21:17I got it in a club of the old-timers Kuhlman people
- 21:19because I heard the sound and I can identify it.
- 21:22But there was a sound to that cloud.
- 21:24Sound of the actual, tangible and so we are going...
- 21:31We can talk all day long about Kathryn.
- 21:32- And I agree, I agree with you, 100 percent.
- 21:35What is it that you think her legacy really is?
- 21:40- It would be the presence and the miracles but if
- 21:43you know her stories, it's the God of a second chance.
- 21:45- God of a second chance.
- 21:46- I think people don't know her story.
- 21:49- Why do you think?...Yes, I understand what you're saying.
- 21:51Why do you think she was and I know you weren't
- 21:55...obviously you were not an adult at that point but
- 21:57why do you think she was able to keep--
- 22:01She kept obviously humility.
- 22:03She was very humble, she knew who she was.
- 22:05She knew who she wasn't and she was able to stop.
- 22:08You mentioned she didn't go into building
- 22:11an empire as far as...
- 22:14- I wish she would of...
- 22:15- Ha ha, books and tapes...
- 22:16- To keep something going,
- 22:17- Yea, yea.
- 22:18- But what is it that allowed her to do that?
- 22:22- Because she had everything and lost it all.
- 22:25And when God goes, "There".
- 22:28- Yea.
- 22:29- She took this as the most priced thing in her life.
- 22:34- That's it.
- 22:34- And her whole life.
- 22:36Wait a minute. She never got married again,
- 22:38never had a child, never built a building.
- 22:41I've been giving the responsibility
- 22:44to take healing as the dinner bell to salvation.
- 22:48Her whole thing was when they see Jesus heal,
- 22:52they will accept Him and have the greatest miracle
- 22:55of salvation.
- 22:56- Right.
- 22:57- And that was her whole theme.
- 22:59Plus she believed that Jesus was coming real soon
- 23:02like they all do.
- 23:03And a lot of them believe that
- 23:06he's coming before they die and
- 23:09that's not quite ever happened yet.
- 23:10I will happen one day but...
- 23:11- But not yet.
- 23:13But they get so...What it is, they are going to Him,
- 23:16He's not coming to them.
- 23:17It's the concept but they kind of get it
- 23:18inverted a little bit but
- 23:20I think that would be and I think that she
- 23:23gave everything.
- 23:25She held nothing back.
- 23:27She said, "The greatest day of my life,
- 23:31the greatest day when I understood the power
- 23:33of the Holy Spirit was the day when
- 23:35Kathryn Kuhlman had nothing to do with it".
- 23:39You know, she tells it all the time
- 23:40and no one listens to her.
- 23:41See the mechanically, is it the white dress?
- 23:44Is it the music? Is it this? I mean, no.
- 23:47She told you, die. Die.
- 23:51When we, "faith" people,
- 23:52we don't like the word "die".
- 23:53We want to be alive, we want to be victorious.
- 23:56I like all of that, I'm a "faith" guy but
- 23:57where is power?
- 23:59- Uh huh.
- 24:00- Okay you are talking about power.
- 24:02Here is a woman that had it but yet we don't like what she said
- 24:06of how she got it because it bugs us.
- 24:10You have to die.
- 24:11Less of you, more of Him.
- 24:14She quoted this all the time.
- 24:15"It's not some of self and some of Thee.
- 24:18It's not of self and all of Him".
- 24:21- Yea.
- 24:22- You know, these little things they say all the time
- 24:23and people...
- 24:25- Just go right back.
- 24:26- Okay, I love the revelation.
- 24:28I love the understanding but we live in a day
- 24:31where if we don't get the demonstration,
- 24:33we are going to lose the generation
- 24:35and the demonstration comes the same way.
- 24:38You have to get out of the way and become
- 24:41a vessel that Jesus can trust and work through.
- 24:45And He does not share 2 things with humans.
- 24:48Vengeance and glory.
- 24:51So those 2 things have to get out for sure
- 24:54because if you're vengeful, it's over
- 24:56and if you want to take a little bit of the "I am"
- 24:59and today we have celebrities status that
- 25:02has come from the world into the church and
- 25:0595 percent of all the calls have not one ounce
- 25:08of fame attached to them.
- 25:10So people watching, realize if you are called to preach,
- 25:12you are probably not going to be known
- 25:14at all for it but God will know you
- 25:17and that's what counts.
- 25:18And so these calls are going to get out of the way
- 25:22and that's very hard for a society who wants to be
- 25:25and wants to be known and to stand...
- 25:29I mean, she was famous but in her head,
- 25:32she was a little girl from Concordia
- 25:34that God gave a second chance to.
- 25:36She remembered the day she lost everything.
- 25:40- Right.
- 25:42And she goes, "I know from whence I've come".
- 25:46Where do you come from?
- 25:48How did you get where you're at?
- 25:49Who do you think you are?
- 25:51- Right.
- 25:51- Why not just be grateful
- 25:54and not trying to be something?
- 25:57- Kind of flies in the face of like you said,
- 25:59a lot of modern christianity and
- 26:01teaching and set your goal and reach and
- 26:04"What's going to be is up to me".
- 26:07Ha ha.
- 26:08- Well, they achieved some success,
- 26:10the mechanics of ministry.
- 26:12They don't receive, they don't achieve
- 26:14the presence and the biblical things that we read.
- 26:17- I love what she said and I need to find that clip again
- 26:22where she said...
- 26:23It was her response,
- 26:24I think it was to a reporter and it was like,
- 26:27talking about the Holy Spirit and just,
- 26:29"Young man, don't you understand?
- 26:31He's more real to me than you are".
- 26:35And she lived that way.
- 26:37She lived that way and so that thing you talk about,
- 26:41the thing that comes,
- 26:43I mean I can feel it now,
- 26:44just you talking about Kathryn is here.
- 26:47So why don't we wrap this one and
- 26:50I just want you to have...
- 26:52take a few minutes, minister to the people.
- 26:54However God leads you with that.
- 26:56- You know, many times we feel the call of God come to us
- 27:01and it's real.
- 27:02But how you live the life next to it and with it,
- 27:06has to become something that you
- 27:08deal with every day of your life.
- 27:10There is a daily time to make sure that you are
- 27:14behind and Christ is in front.
- 27:16There is a position that He gets all the glory.
- 27:20Kathryn Kuhlman said, "He lets me keep
- 27:22just enough "thank yous" to stay encourage for one more day
- 27:26and all the other "thank yous" go to Him
- 27:29to whom it belongs".
- 27:31So I would say to you today,
- 27:33begin to remove yourself from the front seat.
- 27:37Put Christ there, put His heart there
- 27:39and begin to take yourself out of the picture
- 27:42and all you are is the vessel
- 27:44and I pray for you today
- 27:46that God will move the wrong people out of your life,
- 27:50who will feed you the right thing,
- 27:52encourage you the right way
- 27:54and that the wrong people will get out of your life
- 27:57so that the wrong desires,
- 27:59the wrong motivations
- 28:00will not be fueled in your life.
- 28:03I pray for that miracle
- 28:05of deliverance for you today,
- 28:07in Jesus' name.
- 28:09Amen and amen.
- 28:10- Amen.
- 28:12♪♪
