3. 0:07people die they sleep yes yes that's
4. 0:10exactly what I was thinking the last two
5. 0:12weeks that I was out there I couldn't
6. 0:14believe how thin I was and I I couldn't
7. 0:17understand how thin you had to get
8. 0:19before you actually died I mean every
9. 0:21day that I woke up I was surprised that
10. 0:23I woke up I was literally thanking God
11. 0:26and surprised at the same time that I
12. 0:27woke up every day after that towards the
13. 0:29end I just couldn't understand I kept
14. 0:31thinking to myself how much thinner can
15. 0:33a person get before they actually die
16. 0:36Rito you have very interesting SMS uh
17. 0:38Nadia please tell ask Ricky how he
18. 0:40gained his weight again I must say he's
19. 0:42a very hardworking man from Sonia Sonia
20. 0:46is so cute and then there's another
21. 0:48person who's really upset with you and
22. 0:50she's saying why did you give LIF to a
23. 0:52stranger I'm a nice guy yeah sometimes
24. 0:56it P I believe in karma I believe that
25. 0:59if you help other is that this will come
26. 1:01back and unfortunately this time my
27. 1:04kindness came back and bit me hard but
28. 1:07you got rescued maybe yes that was the
29. 1:11reason why you got rescued nice people
30. 1:14yes I think I survived for a reason and
31. 1:16um in Australia in this part of the
32. 1:19territory where I went missing um they
33. 1:22say approximately 300 people a year go
34. 1:24missing in this part of Australia so I
35. 1:27think that I survived in order to warn
36. 1:29up other people um let people know that
37. 1:32this thing this does actually happen in
38. 1:34this part of Australia and to be aware
39. 1:36if you're traveling through this part of
40. 1:37Australia don't stop and help people
41. 1:40always let people know where you are
42. 1:42going you can you can call for them even
43. 1:44not stop at all I mean sometimes there's
44. 1:46a genuine person who can be waiting you
45. 1:48know who needs help but it's also
46. 1:50confusing you don't example like this uh
47. 1:53teaches you not to help anybody well
48. 1:55unfortunately it does yeah that's sad
49. 1:56but if somebody is actually in need of
50. 1:58help
51. 2:02can you tell us about this this tooth
52. 2:04incident also what happened the tooth
53. 2:06incident um it was about 10 days
54. 2:09approximately 10 days before I was found
55. 2:12and um I woke up one morning in a great
56. 2:15deal of pain um the whole side of my my
57. 2:18mouth was swollen um I couldn't open my
58. 2:21mouth I actually thought that a spider
59. 2:24had bitten me on the side of the of the
60. 2:25face and um I thought that I was going
61. 2:28to die so I lay there for the next 24
62. 2:31hours waiting to die and
63. 2:34um luckily I didn't die but I sort of
64. 2:37worked out that there was something else
65. 2:38wrong with me and um I stuck my fingers
66. 2:41inside my mouth and I could feel
67. 2:43blisters all down the bottom of my mouth
68. 2:45here and it turned out I had an absis
69. 2:47underneath my tooth and um I knew right
70. 2:51then and there if I didn't do something
71. 2:52about it that I would die um absis being
72. 2:56poison um there are cases where an
73. 2:59untreat absis has actually poisoned your
74. 3:02blood system and it has actually the
75. 3:04animals and all these things you were
76. 3:05eating that's why exactly right exactly
77. 3:07right yes and um so I ended up I had to
78. 3:09pull my own tooth out while I was it's
79. 3:11already hurting you so much oh yeah I
80. 3:13actually passed out from pain twice
81. 3:15trying while doing this um and then you
82. 3:17used a key I had my key and strangely
83. 3:20enough I had how did you have your key
84. 3:22okay when before I passed out um my car
85. 3:26left the road that I was driving on and
86. 3:29and um it went down a big hill and got
87. 3:32got stuck in a mud hole the last thing I
88. 3:35remember was taking the keys out of the
89. 3:36ignition and putting them in my pocket
90. 3:39and then I passed out okay now for some
91. 3:41reason my pockets never were never
92. 3:44emptied so I whoever took my shoes and
93. 3:46socks didn't check my pockets I had my
94. 3:48car keys in my pocket um lucky for me I
95. 3:51actually used my car keys to Jimmy the
96. 3:53tooth out of my mouth that and a piece
97. 3:56of 12 gauge fencing wire that I had
98. 3:58found and I used this as a hook and I
99. 4:02stuck the keys inside I popped all the
100. 4:04blisters in my teeth with my with my key
101. 4:06and the piece of wire that I found and
102. 4:09um I managed to get my key under my
103. 4:10tooth in between my tooth and my gum and
104. 4:13I levered the toothful was that I passed
105. 4:15out twice from Pain doing this but I
106. 4:18finally finally got the tooth out and I
107. 4:20kept the tooth as well um so yeah but
108. 4:23yeah this is you had to keep that I had
109. 4:25to keep the too yes of course my
110. 4:27goodness how you were rescued
111. 4:30uh callers hello who's this Aran
112. 4:42laum I've been looking forward to see
113. 4:44this program actually for um you know a
114. 4:47couple of weeks um Ricky um you
115. 4:51listening to me how are you man we all
116. 4:53proud of you you um it's a great
117. 4:56achievement uh needless to say but uh
118. 5:00the question I wanted to ask you was
119. 5:02that um how was you going how are you
120. 5:05going with your faith I mean uh were you
121. 5:08strong on your faith because you know it
122. 5:09takes really really strong faith to to
123. 5:12survive 71 days um of question question
124. 5:18question is how did
125. 5:22you
126. 5:26Faith was he losing his faith or um was
127. 5:29he being strong with his Fai which which
128. 5:32let him thank you very much for your
129. 5:34call to begin with um my faith was
130. 5:36strong I never thought that I would be
131. 5:38out there for any length of time I never
132. 5:40thought that um not for a second that I
133. 5:42wouldn't be found and that I would be
134. 5:43stuck out there it wasn't until the last
135. 5:45probably 2 or 3 weeks that I was out
136. 5:47there when I really did start start to
137. 5:49lose Faith um I was getting upset with
138. 5:52the fact that I tried so hard to stay
139. 5:54alive for such a long period of time and
140. 5:57now it looked like I was actually going
141. 5:58to die out there and um um this was yeah
142. 6:00this was very upsetting I was actually I
143. 6:02was starting to lose Faith then very
144. 6:04much so but um as it turned out I was
145. 6:06found and yeah we salute um Ricky for
146. 6:09his bravery forab Nika from shikarpur
147. 6:12and U amazing um amazing miraculous
148. 6:18story God bless you for your courage
149. 6:20that's H oh my God now how were you
150. 6:24rescued very important 71 days in the
151. 6:26desert you you made a grave now you are
152. 6:28mentally prepared you going to die no
153. 6:31hope faith also going yes I was prepared
154. 6:33to die I was waiting I was waiting to
155. 6:35Die the last the last the last week that
156. 6:37I was I was actually surprised every day
157. 6:39that I woke up oh and you were now
158. 6:41looking forward to death yes yes I was
159. 6:43waiting for it I i' said goodbye to my
160. 6:45family i' cried a couple of times just I
161. 6:47you know I it was all over I said I I I
162. 6:50said my peace I said my goodbyes and I
163. 6:52was just waiting to die and then um on
164. 6:55this one day um understand even though I
165. 6:58was waiting to die I still didn't stop
166. 7:00trying to survive every day I still went
167. 7:02out collecting water collecting frogs
168. 7:05and lizards and caterpillars and
169. 7:06Grasshoppers and um that's human
170. 7:08instinct exactly I wasn't I wasn't
171. 7:10giving up as such I was I was I was
172. 7:12prepared for death but I wasn't giving
173. 7:13up um and this one day I was getting
174. 7:16ready to do my food run in the afternoon
175. 7:19and um I used to do my food run every
176. 7:21afternoon before the sun went down so
177. 7:23when I went back to my humpy I had
178. 7:24something to eat during the night used
179. 7:26to keep you know fill in some time so to
180. 7:29speak and um it was about 4:00 in the
181. 7:31afternoon and I was getting ready to do
182. 7:33my food run and um a number of times the
183. 7:37wind would whistle through the top of
184. 7:39the humpy and it would simulate the
185. 7:41sound of a car and um a number of times
186. 7:44I got out of my humpy and there was
187. 7:46never any car there you were sure this
188. 7:47is not a car exactly so this one day I
189. 7:49heard this noise and I thought it's not
190. 7:50a car it's not a car don't bother
191. 7:53getting up and um all of a sudden I
192. 7:55heard a gear change and I thought H the
193. 7:58wind doesn't change gears that is a
194. 8:00vehicle so now remember I'm weighing 46
195. 8:04kilos not very strong and um I ran out
196. 8:07of my humpy I stood up and fell face
197. 8:11first down the down the embankment
198. 8:13because I had no energy and um I managed
199. 8:16to get to my knees and um I'm waving
200. 8:19like a man possessed um and at this car
201. 8:22that was coming up up the road and um
202. 8:25finally yeah a couple of station hands
203. 8:27Taz and Bruce that worked on dur andoo
204. 8:30station out there okay they um then
205. 8:32finally found you there they're out
206. 8:34checking fences checking dams getting
207. 8:36ready for the cattle mustering season
208. 8:39and um and they found
209. 8:40me and were they not scared maybe you
210. 8:44know it's such a situation maybe people
211. 8:45would think oh it's a ghost or maybe
212. 8:47somebody is going to mug us exactly
213. 8:49exactly they actually stopped about 100
214. 8:51m away from me and um they bit worried
215. 8:55got out of their car and sort of said
216. 8:57you know are you okay
217. 9:00and um I was am I glad to see you guys
218. 9:02you know and I sort of said what are you
219. 9:04doing out here and um I started to tell
220. 9:06them the story and they couldn't believe
221. 9:08it they they you could still speak
222. 9:10English by that time that's amazing just
223. 9:13just N I actually I thought I was
224. 9:14yelling but because I hadn't spoken for
225. 9:17nearly 3 months um I I didn't have much
226. 9:21voice left so to speak um so I was
227. 9:23actually Whispering I thought I was
228. 9:25yelling at them but not all your energy
229. 9:27and nothing's coming out oh my
230. 9:30we'll take
