7. 0:17I'm just glad to be out glad to be a
8. 0:19free man what are you going to do where
9. 0:20are you going to go wow I mean you know
10. 0:23you sit in prison for so long you think
11. 0:25about this day but when it actually
12. 0:27comes you don't know what you you just
13. 0:28want to do something you know besides
14. 0:30what you've been doing for 39 years when
15. 0:33you heard the judge say an hour ago
16. 0:36you're a free man goodbye talk about
17. 0:38what you were feeling what was going on
18. 0:40that we couldn't see I mean it it was
19. 0:43like an emotional roller coaster you
20. 0:44know it's just I mean English language
21. 0:47doesn't defit what I'm feeling right now
22. 0:49you know it's just I mean I'm just on
23. 0:51the emotional high right now really
24. 0:53Ronnie how excited are you to see Ricky
25. 0:56how I'm sorry Ricky how excited are you
26. 0:58to see I got Ronnie out of my mind
27. 0:59because I saw him a few minutes ago how
28. 1:00excited are you to see Ronnie and Wy
29. 1:03well I really haven't got a chance to
30. 1:04meet him yet see him yet I saw him
31. 1:06briefly in the courtroom but I'm dying
32. 1:08to meet him I want to embrace him and
33. 1:10hug
34. 1:11him excuse me because we've been through
35. 1:14a lot together and we made it you know
36. 1:16we're here we made it one of the other
37. 1:18inmates who' been released through the
38. 1:20Innocence Project said that it's hard to
39. 1:22keep hope alive but once the Innocence
40. 1:24Project it's on your case you have New
41. 1:26Hope listen I can't be getting to tell
42. 1:28you um those guys are fantastic really
43. 1:31they are you know they once they lock on
44. 1:33to it it's like a pit boy they don't you
45. 1:35know this guy here I mean he's my hero
46. 1:39he saved my life literally you know and
47. 1:41everybody else on the team that worked
48. 1:43on my case for nearly a decade I do
49. 1:45believe you know these guys are
50. 1:47tremendous they do great work you know I
51. 1:50was glad to have them you know because I
52. 1:52wouldn't be here without them what are
53. 1:53your courtroom today you smiled at some
54. 1:55people you waved at them who were they
55. 1:57uh family friends and I mean just people
56. 1:59I didn't really know I'm just glad to
57. 2:01see
58. 2:02people you know I'm just happy to see
59. 2:06people you know for real what are your
60. 2:07thoughts about the people who got you
61. 2:10here in the first place 39 years ago the
62. 2:12people who said you did it when you
63. 2:14didn't well um I guess a lot of people
64. 2:17will want me to hate that person and
65. 2:21feel carry animosity towards him but I
66. 2:24don't you know people have to remember
67. 2:26that they see him as a grown man today
68. 2:28but 7 in 5 he was a 12 year old kid and
69. 2:32he was manipulated and cered by the
70. 2:34police you know and they they used him
71. 2:37they used him to get us in prison so as
72. 2:40far as uh that young man is concerned I
73. 2:43wish him the best I don't hate him I
74. 2:45don't I just wish he has a good life it
75. 2:48took a lot of courage to do what he did
76. 2:50in that courtroom you guys didn't see
77. 2:52his testimony you didn't hear his
78. 2:54testimony but it took a lot of courage
79. 2:56to do what he did they tried to break
80. 2:58him they tried to screw him up but at
81. 3:01the end he always said the same basic
82. 3:03thing they didn't do it I lied and that
83. 3:06took a lot of Courage for him he been
84. 3:07carrying a burden around for 39 years
85. 3:10like we have but in the end he came
86. 3:12through and I'm grateful for that Ricky
87. 3:14you're innocent for 39 years can you
88. 3:16tell me why how you got through all of
89. 3:19this knowing you're innocent for 39
90. 3:21years I mean it's it's a lot of things
91. 3:24you go through but honestly there are
92. 3:28some guys in prison right now now some
93. 3:30Over Law guys that really helped me get
94. 3:32through this taught me how just because
95. 3:34you're in prison you don't have to be a
96. 3:36prisoner you got to be a man you know
97. 3:39and you got to get yourself together
98. 3:40regardless of what the circumstances are
99. 3:42and you got to press forward you know
100. 3:44you know you're innocent you got to keep
101. 3:46fighting you know
