0:18and now she started to slowly burn the
0:19alliance forcing them to kill Aaron if
0:21they want to live but she has no
0:23intention of letting Aaron die she wants
0:25to string them along with a small Hope
0:27of Victory for them to struggle and
0:29suffer and finally die achieving nothing
0:32the only exception is Annie who's allied
0:34with Aaron because killing him won't
0:36allow her to feed someone to her dad
0:38who's become a Pure Titan and so it all
0:41comes down to this a pointless despair
0:44inducing fight at the end of the world
0:46when everything's already lost and yet
0:48even with only 4 years left anyway Aaron
0:51refuses to give up his life for anyone
0:53even his friends finally accepting now
0:56just how far he'd go for his freedom
0:58Aaron Embraces the monster Levi s him

1:06Aaron but quickly loses him in the dust

1:10into Aaron instead she holds onto his
1:12arms and wrestles him she's still trying

6:03consoled my split mind and accepted who
6:05I was but I was wrong I rejected the
6:08soldier and thought the warrior was the
6:10real me but every time I did something
6:12good in my guilt I attributed to the
6:15fake me I left back on Paradis meanwhile
6:18Peak is stuck amongst all the pure
6:19titans most of them have different
6:20targets so she's trying to not get
6:22notice but one of them turns out to be a
6:23transformed Aaron using the chaos and
6:26dust to his Advantage with the element
6:28of surprise P has Forks to Jack from a
6:30Titan but Aaron rather than finish her
6:31off disappears back into the chaos
6:34knowing she can't fight back and the
6:35pure Titans will finish her off suddenly
6:39peak's dad looms over her with no way to
6:41use her Titan power by herself she
6:43freezes up horrified he picks her up she
6:46struggles but one arm and a leg gets
6:48caught in his mouth and the arm is
6:50bitten and clean off and the leg is
6:52mangled again I love zek's Titans in
6:54shagan I love how pure Titan started as
6:56the main threat but then continued to be
6:58relevant all through The Story So once
7:00more for the road we get to witness the
7:02horrors of season 1 pure Titans Jean who
7:04has lost track of Aaron in the scuffle
7:06sees Peak kills a Titan and saves her
7:08from its mouth but then Karina rina's
7:11mom looms over both of them finally Rina
7:14rejoins the fight he thinks to himself
7:17but it was me it was all me he kills his
7:22titanized mother saving Jean but when he
7:24does he makes contact with her and her
7:26memories enter his mind not a memory
7:28from long ago but a recent one Rina sees
7:31his sad tired face and hears her
7:33mother's words promise me promise me
7:36your smile that you'll forgive yourself
7:38I don't want to die thinking I ruined
7:40the hopeful heroic boy that I was so
7:42lucky to have he sees a sad tied face
7:46say I promise a lie riner's tears well
7:50up but he shuts his eyes shakes the

8:59is what I've always been a half ass
9:03piece of [ __ ] he yells as he snaps
9:05arman's blade if it was just his words
9:07it would have seemed sad but ry's tone
9:09and expression displays a level of
9:10conviction in what he's doing unlike any
9:12he's had before Arman tells him this is
9:14insane but rer says that it's insane
9:16that they're killing each other they're
9:18obviously not thinking clearly so you
9:20think we should just sit here and die so
9:21that Aaron can live no I'm just going to
9:23save who I can until you can come to
9:25your senses and think of something
9:26better JN yells at Rina but Rina shoots
9:28back saying they still haven't talked
9:30yet Jean is outraged that Ryo would use
9:32marker's words but Rina doesn't care he
9:34knows he's being manipulated he says
9:36deep down Jean knows he's right Arman
9:38says they already established talking
9:39with work but mirroring his own words
9:41rher says they don't know that for sure
9:43either and besides talking isn't all
9:45Arman can do he's always been the plan
9:47guy not this cold Commander Arman says
9:49he's just being realistic but rer says
9:51I'm the only one being consistent when
9:53was this Alliance ever realistic our
9:55alliance was formed to find a peaceful
9:57solution even if it meant we were
9:58looking to the better but now your only
10:00answer is to kill each other and what
10:02about Gabby and Falco you're going to
10:04get them killed just to save Aaron yeah
10:06or they could die trying to kill him
10:08just like Connie so start thinking
10:10suddenly inspired by his words masassa

10:43peak's mangled leg then he cuts a wound
10:45into the Colossal it pushes out hot
10:46steam which he tells Peak to put her
10:48hand in he does the same with his own
10:50wounds to
10:51quarterized scanning the area looking
10:53for Falco on on yapon so here we go just
10:55like with Annie this is the second major
10:57wrench thrown into the alliance mind and
11:00on that note let's talk about rhina his
11:02Arc was um kind of nothing I I felt like
11:05him no longer being the armor Titan was
11:06supposed to be the conclusion to his
11:07character which is kind of lackluster
11:09when I think about Rina it's the mental
11:10issues and the wrestling with his guilt
11:13his Titan doesn't really have anything
11:14to do with that other than that ran
11:16doesn't really change other people get
11:18some more appreciation from him and I
11:19guess he's happy by the end of the story
11:21but I don't really know R's back guys I
11:24guess when I think about Rina his most
11:27compelling part was his split and so
11:29that became the focus and line of logic
11:31for him to return from his depression
11:32and crystallize it by him as a soulle
11:35party proactively driving the plot in a
11:37different direction he believes is right
11:39that being to prevent anyone else from
11:41dying anyway I'm not going to cover it
11:43in detail but as this scuffle happens
11:45two other important things happen one
11:47Annie's dad is killed and Aaron and
11:49Annie are forced to kill Gabby and
11:50Falco's parents further exacerbating
11:52Falco's anger and igniting Gabby as she
11:54starts to basically regress on her
11:56character for Gabby this is reigniting
11:58her will for revenge on aarin Jager
12:01Annie losing her dad hits her hard very
12:04hard everything she ever did was
12:06justified to her by reaching her dad and
12:08without it the floodgates of guilt open
12:11every horrible thing she did every kill
12:13down to the butterfly she squished Under
12:15Foot flash through her mind she becomes
12:17a manic and nervous wreck after the
12:20scuffle dissipates Annie regroups with
12:22Aaron on the Colossal shoulder she says
12:24her dad was killed almost in desperation
12:26looking for anything to give her hope
12:28Aon takes Advantage the attack Titan can
12:30see memories from the future what I'm
12:33serious that's why Zeke was talking to
12:35gisha while looking into my eyes if I
12:36can see the future that means ens are
12:38connected through time which means it
12:40might be possible for the founder to

13:04cover thinking that Gabby just missed
13:06her head shot but Gabby shoots again and
13:08breaks her odm gear as she dies behind
13:11cover Falco has been holding back his
13:12rage since seeing Aaron kill his parents
13:14but Rina saving Aaron was the last straw
13:16the second he sees him he Dives Aaron
13:19with his Titan forgetting in his rage
13:21that Gabby is on top of him Aaron turns
13:23to jump from the Colossal to use his odm
13:25gear realizes that Gabby didn't miss and
13:28he thinks she wasn't aiming for the head
13:30she was aiming for the biggest crucial
13:32Target Aaron she shouts your odm Gabby
13:36shot through Aaron's stomach to hit his
13:39odm gear Aaron Falls as the jaw Titan's
13:43beak goes to swallow him so instead
13:46Aaron turns in midair transforms catches
13:49Falon in a choke hold and crystallizes
13:51trapping him he pulls out of his Titan
13:53and without his odm gear simply rushes
13:56Gabby on foot Rina again comes the
13:59rescue still holding Peak he shoulder
14:01bargees Gabby away saving her from death
14:03but not getting her out in time to
14:05prevent Aaron's slicing off her foot in
14:06a last ditch effort Aaron says I'm not
14:08going to let you use that rifle again
14:10and throws his blade this Levi move here
14:13Rina puts his arm up to block but it
14:15still glances one of Gabby's eyes taking
14:17it out she screams in pain Rina takes
14:20Peak to the ground with Gabby and anapon
14:22jumps down from off Falco to use the
14:24first a kit of course before all of this
14:26Rina carefully watches looking to see if
14:28Aaron will continue to Target Gabby
14:30since she can no longer use the rifle
14:32Aaron eyes him but instead chooses to
14:34repair his odm Gear with the Warhammer
14:37Falco has a flash of guilt come across
14:39him seeing Gabby but he redirects his
14:41guilt towards Aaron and starts to break
14:42out of the crystal which is also what
14:44was stopping Aaron from targeting his
14:45name Aaron spots macassa Levi jean and
14:47Armen finally homing in on him Aaron
14:49tells Annie to get moving so she
14:51transforms again and starts running
14:53Aaron quickly grabs on again oh if it
14:55wasn't obvious by this point air is
14:56giving Annie and Aaron infinite
14:58regeneration more of the imir [ __ ]
15:00Arman predicted would happen
15:02unfortunately the last of the pure
15:03Titans that were behind them are now
15:05heading towards Gabby and onon Capon

15:32masassa finishes off the rest of the
15:34peers when Jean Arman and Levi catch up
15:36Annie stops and Aaron summons his Titans
15:38so they can put their backs together
15:40Aaron summons a Warhammer and attacks
15:41them from range forcing them to go in
15:43they start low taking out the kneecaps
15:45but Aaron brings up spikes catching
15:47Jean's arm and bringing him up into the
15:49range of Annie's mouth she keeps her
15:51arms up to defend her Nate from the
15:52others but uses her mouth to kill Jean
15:54but once again rhina saves the day at
15:56the expense of slicing off Jean's arm
15:58and getting his own leg caught Annie's
15:59mouth and losing it as a result Rina
16:02stops to do something about the bleeding
16:03still angry Jean says that he didn't ask
16:05for his help with one down Aaron and
16:07Annie make a break for it and keep
16:09running Levi follows close behind and we
16:11get a repeat of their Forest fight but
16:12this time when Levi spins up her arm
16:14she's ready and pulls the whole arm
16:16backwards until Levi is in her arm Levi
16:18slices off the fingers before he can be
16:20crushed but an's like that's fine I
16:21don't need to kill you I just need to
16:23get you away and shot puts him backwards
16:26diagonal from the line of titans Levi
16:28however is ready for that he plants his
16:30grappling hooks into a palm but what
16:32he's not ready for is Aaron using the
16:34Warhammer to slice off Annie's entire
16:36forearm so Levi and it both go flying
16:39Rina who's too late to help for once
16:41yells to Falco that he needs to catch
16:43Levi Falco considers leaving him for a
16:45second but ultimately yells in
16:47frustration and goes after masassa
16:50finally catches up after killing the
16:51peers she tells Rina that she'll deal
16:53with Annie follow Aaron and stop Armen
16:55and him from fighting masassa targets
16:57Annie's nape but just before she reaches
16:59it Annie ejects spins round and kicks
17:01her in the chest but masassa grapples
17:03her leg dragging her out with her and
17:05falling with her to the ground
17:07mid-flight she unbuckles Annie's odm
17:10along with her weapons and when they hit
17:11the ground she struggles quickly finds
17:13Annie's hand and pulls the ring off it
17:15chucking it away while this is all
17:17happening Falco flies through the air
17:18after Levi yena who's still on top of
17:21him shouts angrily to take her back to
17:22the main fight Falco ignores he's
17:24gaining on Levi but they're also getting
17:26close to the ground they're not going to
17:27make it they have to act f F he swoops
17:30misses Levi is just below he thinks he's
17:32going to hit the ground thinking quickly
17:33FAL flips the Titan upside down pulls
17:36partway out of the Titan and tells yena
17:38to grab on and then he grabs hold of
17:39Levi and then shouts you wouldn't want
17:41him to have a quick death right Emir he
17:44pulls him in and bites his hand he
17:46creates effectively his bird Titan but a
17:49fluffy flightless chick version of it
17:51that contains Levi and yena and softens
17:53The Landing it does however knock them
17:55out back at the fight Annie and masassa
17:57both get up they're they're in super
17:59close proximity Annie goes to bite her
18:01hand but masassa immediately lunges and
18:03blocks her hand from reaching her mouth
18:05Annie manic Echoes a bit of her old
18:07psychotic personality she lets out an
18:09exasperated laugh well at least this
18:12time it'll be a fair fight and she puts
18:15up a fist masasa unbuckles and drops her
18:17own gear this was another one of the
18:19things that felt like an anticlimax
18:21iyama hyped up a fist fight between
18:23these two ages ago during training and
18:25then never said who won which is pretty
18:26minor honestly but then also reh hyped
18:28them fighting again during the camp
18:30scene and it just didn't happen again it
18:33felt like a checkup shotgun so that's
18:35what we're doing we're answering that
18:36question by implying that masassa won
18:38but now Annie has aaman powers she might
18:40actually be able to win that's what she
18:42meant by now it'll be fair the fight
18:45begins masassa uses grapples and body
18:47shots while fighting Annie making sure

18:50transform by making her bleed as they
18:52fight masassa tells Annie to give up her

18:57it becomes obvious that Annie is
18:58clinging onto a desperate hope that the

21:20starts to break down you can you can you

22:06there in horror as her body refuses to

22:12hands Shake Annie some looks away and
22:16says what did we do to deserve to be the
22:19last survivors at the end of the world
22:23it makes masassa think memories of her
22:25choices throughout her life along with
22:27her conversation with kiomi flash
22:29through her head as she opens her eyes
22:31in wide realization a tear Falls from
22:34her eye as she answers Annie's
22:37question we're
22:40strong that's it I have to go she picks
22:43up a things and flies off meanwhile
22:46Arman and Rina stay on Aaron's side to
22:48stop him from leaving but he doesn't
22:50seem to want to it seems like they're
22:52both banking that Annie or macassa will
22:54win to back them up when macassar
22:55appears behind them Aaron suddenly
22:57strikes one final Skirmish that leads to
22:59Rina blocking the attack with his body
23:01resulting in him losing an arm to defend
23:03Armen masassa lands near and forcefully
23:05takes Arman and rina's Blades throwing
23:07them off the cliff Arman tells her that
23:09she can't fight Aaron alone but she
23:11basically tells him too bad go tend to
23:13rina's wounds Rina tells her she can't
23:16kill Aaron that there's got to be
23:17another way but she basically tells him
23:19good job you saved all the lives you can
23:21but this is how it has to end she says
23:23and does this all very quickly as Aaron
23:25gets in position to use his Titan to
23:26leave the Colossal wall but masassa
23:28close the distance just in time to force

23:31wall Aaron deduces that as a Titan
23:34shifter he'll have more gas in the tank
23:36than masassa so he turns to run and
23:38outpace her but when he turns masassa
23:40tells him to wait I realized I couldn't
23:43kill you aarin says I told you you an
23:45araman no it's cuz I never had any
23:49intention of killing you I was lying to
23:52myself this whole time the only reason I
23:55ever came with everyone was to protect
23:58you I tricked rhina I wanted him to thin
24:01down our numbers until it was just us
24:03and then I was going to let you go Aaron
24:06says but not anymore masasa replies and
24:11he made me realize I've never thought
24:13twice about anything I've done
24:16because because I'm a bad person masassa
24:20reaches into her pocket and pulls out
24:21the scarf the things I did for this
24:24scarf just to get back one small part of
24:27you I wanted to blame you because it was
24:29easier but that's
24:31wrong I'm a bad person because I'm
24:34strong I never let myself compare what I
24:37wanted against what was right because I
24:39never needed to the only times I've ever
24:42made the right choice over what I wanted
24:44was when I was forced to like when hanji
24:47pulled me from killing Levi or when you
24:49forced me away from your side Louise
24:51liked me on a lie I'd have never have
24:54saved her if I had the choice between
24:56you or her Aon solemnly raises his blade
24:59and says I guess that makes two of us
25:02that Carlo would have been disappointed
25:05of Massa lightly smiles and says I don't
25:08think it matters who's right who's wrong
25:12I don't think there's any meaning in any
25:14of this I think we're all just here at
25:17the end of the world because we're
25:19strong masassa raises the scarf into the
25:22wind I'm sorry Aon I have to try and do
25:25the right thing she lets the scar go and
25:28says says because I'm the strongest and
25:32so the Final Duel commences let's talk
25:36maasa and our third and final Divergence
25:38from the alliance Hive mine I really
25:39don't like how massa's character was run
25:41in the rumbling Arc you're telling me
25:43that the character who had been
25:44practically defined by Aaron and on
25:45numerous occasions was willing to
25:47sacrifice positions and friends in a
25:49heartbeat all for the sake of him isn't
25:51on his side during the rumbling
25:53literally Jean was more on Aaron's side
25:55than masassa was there was a perfectly
25:57debatable justification for the rumbling
25:59just sitting there why didn't you take
26:01that excuse to protect Aaron why are you
26:03helping the people who may be forced to
26:05kill him so instead I've retroactively
26:07changed that so macassa deep down had no
26:10intention of killing Aaron and she was
26:11just in denial of it the whole time
26:13until the end when she realizes just how
26:15selfish he is it makes for a good twist
26:18and it retroactively adds one more
26:19complexity to this conflict at the end
26:21of the world also I was so baffled by
26:23the way she treated Louise and how that
26:25was apparently indicative of nothing
26:27else in the plot like how is this and
26:29this the same character the only way I
26:31can make sense of it is that if we
26:33consider massa's obsession with Aaron
26:35her fatal flaw which very much seem to
26:36be where the story was going like was I
26:38not meant to take this as negative
26:40qualities of a character that was
26:41supposed to be part of an arc what
26:43happened hi Dick us you can do whatever
26:46climactic fight stuff you want here it'd
26:48be fun to have like a good mix between
26:50Aaron versus macassa but switching in
26:52and out of the Titan form as well as
26:54Massa navigating erands Ed to the
26:55Warhammer but the fight is supposed to
26:57be intense but uh melancholic everything
27:00is [ __ ] and it's still not over two of
27:02the characters who were closest to each
27:03other must duel to the death and now as
27:06this fight plays out we're going to be
27:08complimenting its mood with what's
27:09happening with yena Levi and Falon and
27:12at the climax of this scene we'll get to
27:15the climax of this fight okay here we go
27:18yena kicks Levi awake she is clearly
27:21still angry that she was taken away from
27:22the fight and is taking it out on him
27:24Falco and Levi both get up the wall of
27:27Titans is in the with nothing to do but
27:29walk back to the group they get going
27:31Falco and yena argue with each other as
27:33they go who was right who was wrong what
27:35each other could have done differently
27:37but suddenly as they get close to the
27:38colossals Levi tells them to shut up
27:40yena goes quiet for just long enough for
27:42Levi to home in on the sound before she
27:44remembers she doesn't need to listen to
27:46him instead she starts targeting Levi
27:48with her rants they get to the cliff and
27:50Levi hears something under the HS of the
27:52wind at The Cliff face Falco starts to
27:54hear it too they narrow it down to a
27:56colossal Titan with its foot Frozen just
27:59above the ground where it was going to
28:00step Falco is the only one small enough
28:02to get into the Gap yena isn't paying
28:05attention her Rambles have turned into
28:06rage as she's been ignored could you
28:09imagine all those Scouts who died under
28:12your watch the scouts who sacrificed
28:14themselves the ones you killed a
28:16mountain of corpses built and for what
28:19the world is destroyed Paradise is
28:21destroyed you all came out here to fight
28:23and struggle but you never even had a
28:25chance you saved nothing all that Noble
28:28talk of saving the world all those Noble
28:31sacrifices and yet you've got nothing to
28:33say Levi what could you say your
28:36devotion has been a waste your
28:38subordinates devotion has been a waste
28:41your peers devotion has been a waste
28:43even stopping the rumbling was ripped
28:45away from you oh what a beautiful thing
28:47that was a glorious Victory pulled from
28:50the clutches of Despair you did it
28:52didn't you save the world only to find
28:55out you were too late everything was for
28:58nothing they all died for nothing Hani
29:02died for nothing I'm sick of that mosque
29:06you can't pretend you don't care anymore
29:08tell me Levi tell me you regret it but
29:12her rant is interrupted by The Cry of a
29:15baby Falco pulls him out from under the
29:18Titan's foot there's a burn on his face
29:20from the salt but it seems the sea water
29:22that was splashed on him and the blanket
29:24wrapped around him from when he was held
29:26near the cliff allowed him to survive
29:28the last of the heat as the Titan
29:30started to stop at the edge of the cliff
29:32everyone else jumped from the cliff
29:34thinking the Titans wouldn't stop but
29:35the baby that was passed from hand to
29:37hand to extend its life by seconds had
29:39no one left to carry him and lay alone
29:42on the Cliff's Edge either the burn or
29:44the foot would have killed him unless
29:46the rumbling was stopped exactly when it
29:49was Falco solemnly passes the baby to
29:51Levi and he places him on his shoulder
29:54as he looks into the distance he finally
29:57answers
29:58yena I don't regret it I don't regret a
30:04single choice I haven't done much with
30:07Levi just in general he's always been a
30:09matured and static character so there's
30:11not a lot of great options so instead I
30:13decided to pay homage to his character
30:14with a conclusion to what people
30:16remember most about him his speech to
30:18Aaron about making the choice you'll
30:19least regret which is also a mantra he
30:21got from wiwin in his defining character
30:23moment for him at the very end when
30:26everything's gone to [ __ ] to look at
30:28this one small Beacon of Hope and decide
30:31I have no regrets I think that works as
30:34a climax to his character also I managed
30:36to tie it in with one of the most
30:38beloved Standalone panels in the manga
30:40cleff baby it it almost feels like
30:41cheating really cuz obviously this would
30:43have been a throwaway panel that was
30:45thought of as the chapter was being
30:46written and like after all the planning
30:48was done so like combining this with the
30:50actual plot is really already accessible
30:52to someone looking back in hindsight but
30:54hey there's a lot of stuff like that in
30:56RS a lot of people like send me like wow
30:58you're so much better of a writer and
31:00I'm like okay okay look I have the
31:02luxury of hindsight like like I know all
31:05the popular criticisms ahead of release
31:07I don't have to write my own characters
31:08or premises and I have zero time limits
31:11being able to piggyback off what's
31:12popular is so much easier than making
31:14something popular from scratch let's not
31:16get ahead of ourselves anyway as I said
31:19with the end of this scene we get the
31:21climax of the fight masassa finally
31:23finds her opportunity and cuts eron's
31:25neck with one blade but also she cuts
31:28her own neck with the other emia only
31:30realizing that maer is actually doing it
31:32after the blade has already entered
31:34ain's neck desperately tries to block
31:36with Crystal hardening but it only forms
31:38around the wound it can't stop the blade
31:40from continuing its cut the cut itself
31:42is probably not a clean decapitating
31:43slice but actually a diagonal so if the
31:46blade kept going it would just jam on
31:47the color bone the blades slide through
31:50their neck right up until it starts to
31:52dig into their central nervous system
31:53and then stop Aon and masassa find
31:58themselves in paths albeit very far
32:00apart Aaron opens his eyes to see Emir
32:04who like a child who did something wrong
32:06quickly turns and walks away Aaron walks
32:09after her and tries to get her attention
32:12Emir hey Emir talk to me Emir did you do
32:18it did you really destroy
32:21Paradis she doesn't answer finally he
32:24gets frustrated he raises her voice
32:26grabs her shoulder and turns around I
32:28need to know did you do it Emir
32:31reluctantly nods and Aaron falls to his
32:34knees and sobs she watches Aaron for a
32:37little bit and then finally emia
32:41speaks her first words
32:44are do you hate
32:47me Erin looks up from his sobs he's
32:50taken off guard at first but in reality
32:52he's almost dumbfounded by the question
32:55he tears up again as he says
32:58after everything I've said after
33:01everything I've done how could I hate
33:04you and he pulls IM into a hug Emir
33:07doesn't hug back at first but eventually
33:10her lost feelings come back to her but
33:13when they separate Aon sees blood on
33:16yia's cheek it's not hers it's eron's a
33:21bright red line has slowly started to
33:23travel across his neck can you heal this
33:27asks Aaron
33:28Emir tries to repair it with sand but it
33:30just falls off she shakes her head
33:32seemingly knowing that it would happen
33:34Emir turns as masassa can be seen
33:37walking in from the distance imir points
33:40to Erin's wound then to the blade
33:41masassa is holding and then to the path
33:44tree the mechanics of this being that
33:46Emir can't heal Aaron because the blade
33:48is in his neck and it was going fast
33:51enough that she can't control masso or
33:53Aaron and reverse the momentum without
33:54the blade severing the spinal cord of
33:57either and losing control so she brought
33:59both of them into pass so that similar
34:01to the patch of arman's clothes they can
34:04throw it into the pass tree and split it
34:06evenly among every subject of yir
34:08allowing yir to heal Aaron but because
34:11masser is the one holding the blade the
34:13only way to get it into part is to bring
34:15masassa in where imir is effectively
34:17just a normal girl and so it all comes
34:21down to this Aaron fights masassa hand
34:23to hand trying to wrestle the blade from
34:26her grip and throw it into paths which
34:28during a messy scuffle he achieves he
34:31grabs the blade gets a few steps away
34:32from masassa after throwing her to the
34:34ground the window is tight he Chucks it
34:36hard he watches it until it flies into
34:38pass before turning back and shouting to
34:39yir yamir vanish her now but as he turns
34:44he feels a small hand on the wound on
34:46his neck Emir heals him and he can't see
34:50Massa he thinks he succeeded until blood
34:53appears from 's mouth and masassa pulls
34:57her head up from behind her with blood
34:59on her mouth and a piece of her spine
35:01between her teeth she swallows when
35:04Aaron threw masassa down and turn
35:06towards the pastry masassa rather than
35:08Chase Aaron switched to the closer
35:10Target and yamia chose to run after
35:12Aaron and prioritize healing him the
35:14second she could instead of sending
35:15masassa back crumbling and cracking
35:18sounds echo through Pass massa's eyes
35:21change to that of the founder and Aaron
35:23a subject of yir is knocked out cold by
35:26the ripple effect of Casa consuming
35:29paths and now that I've said that I want
35:31to just uh don't mind me I want to Revel
35:33a bit in my foreshadowing cuz no one is
35:35going to think I put this much thought
35:36into this but I have remember kiomi
35:38talking about Japanese dragons how
35:40they're symbols of beauty and wisdom and
35:41that's kind of becoming symbolic of what
35:43mccaster is becoming that's what the
35:45dragons represent in Japanese mythology
35:49however in Norse mythology the dragon is
35:53nidhog the one who eats at the world
35:58tree sorry no one's going to catch that
36:00so I had to mention it moving on so
36:02controversial take I actually like
36:04masasa kissing AR's decapitated head as
36:07beautiful SL tragic [ __ ] up imagery I
36:09really like it and I wanted to keep an
36:11element of that in masassa literally
36:12cannibalizing a little girl I don't
36:14think it's as strong but it's getting
36:16there I also already did a bit of it
36:18with uh masassa decapitating herself
36:20along with Aaron anyway information and
36:23time floods maa's mind in seconds and
36:26yet it's perfect she gains control of a
36:29collapsing path that's beginning to
36:30build itself a new it seems to have a
36:33limited connection to the old subjects
36:34of yir that's slowly degrading but the
36:36information it's all too much when she
36:39finally begins to somewhat wrap her head
36:41around these Godlike Powers she tries to
36:43focus concentrate on something anything
36:45to pull her out of this mental Tail Spin
36:48she opens her eyes and finds herself
36:50looking at herself during the Battle of
36:52trost when Aaron had died and she had
36:55just given up masassa realizes she found
36:58her way here because she feels the same
37:00way they're both mourning Aaron the
37:02younger macassa the person Aaron but the
37:05older masassa the idea of Aaron she
37:07thought was real in her mutual mourning
37:09with her past self she places her
37:12forehead on her own and thinks of the
37:14young version of Aaron if only you knew
37:16how lucky you were to not know the real
37:18eron but young
37:20Massa reacts her head starts to throb
37:24and she raises her blade
37:28this again the older masassa pulls back
37:32gears turning the Titan appears it Bears
37:35down on young macassa she isn't moving
37:37what if she doesn't move what if the
37:39reason she moved back then was because
37:42she gave herself the memories of Aaron
37:44now that inspired her to fight and so
37:47she does and in doing so she lifts
37:49herself up she has to keep moving
37:51forward because she realizes just like
37:53her younger self she can still remember
37:56the idea of aing she did love after the
37:59two massas work together to save
38:01themselves the dust settles and masassa
38:03thinks about what to do
38:05next and then Arman opens his eyes he's
38:09on the tree on the hill Ain as a child
38:12lies with his back against a tree he
38:14naps while a child masassa collects wood
38:16in the distance Arman looks up and sees
38:19the real
38:20masassa it looks like a significant
38:22amount of time has passed she's not
38:24older but her hair is a bit longer and
38:26been cut with a blade a few times and
38:28her clothes have been worn down and
38:29replaced with something more rudimentary
38:31this is to say she looks just like the
38:33masassa in the see later panel just
38:36without the scarf maasa looks relieved
38:39she's been trying to work out how air
38:40brought them into paths this is the
38:42first time it's worked she thinks she
38:44might only be able to bring in those who
38:45are closest to her masassa explains
38:48everything up until what we've seen and
38:49then explains that after the moment we
38:51just saw she realized she could change
38:53the past and started looking for ways to
38:55change this outcome but here's the catch
38:57she could only give precise memories to
39:00herself and she could only access
39:02certain moments namely those when she
39:04remembered the trauma of losing people
39:06which if you've been paying attention to
39:08the fan theories was all the times
39:11masassa had headaches as it turns out
39:14she could actually change the future by
39:16giving herself memories but she couldn't
39:18stop the rumbling when she gave herself
39:20memories after the KLA died she was too
39:22naive to believe them and internalize
39:24that in the end those memories acted
39:26like a prophecy and she became a jarist
39:28helping flock win the dock fight when
39:30Aaron was taken she gave herself
39:32memories and it caused her to hold back
39:34enough for Marley to successfully obtain
39:35Aaron but Zeke ended up taking Aaron for
39:38his own plan and Aaron ended up starting
39:39the rumbling out of pure hatred for the
39:41outside world instead when she gave
39:43memories to herself during the choice
39:45between Arman and Irwin it changed the
39:47outcome by not holding Levi off long
39:49enough to convince him but only
39:51accelerated the rumbling as Aaron was
39:53deeply affected by alman's death and
39:55finally when she gave memories to
39:56herself when she talked to Louise she
39:58was already too far into her denial and
40:00Obsession to listen instead in her
40:03paranoia masassa betrayed the alliance
40:05and turn them in each time a choice
40:08failed she went back to these moments
40:11and scrambled her memories at that
40:13moment to erase the memory she gave and
40:15restore the original timeline and that's
40:17why masassa had headaches it was her
40:20from the future trying to change the
40:22future to prevent the rumbling and then
40:24overriding the memories later by
40:26scrambling them which is what was making
40:28her head hurt this was another one of
40:30the big issues of the ending there was a
40:32lot of mysteries that remained that
40:33either had no answers or wildly unclear
40:36answers this was another of the big
40:38issues at the ending Mass's headaches
40:40was a huge thing that was always talked
40:41about and in the eight extra pages
40:43released after the last chapter it's
40:44explained it was Emir looking into her
40:46head and it's clearly either a patch job
40:48thrown in after or just a poorly
40:49designed answer and that's for the same
40:52reason in order for something to feel
40:53like a puzzle piece like it perfectly
40:55slots into the story the need to be
40:57multiple elements that connect it to the
40:59pre-existing elements cuz there's no
41:02specific reason for Emir to look into
41:03her memories nor in those specific
41:05moments the connections between
41:07headaches and viewing the world through
41:08someone else's eyes is very loose logic
41:10and finally seeing through someone's
41:12eyes has never been established in the
41:13narrative so that element is one of a
41:15kind in the narrative and therefore
41:17doesn't feel as baked in it feels like
41:19it's been made just for this moment in
41:21contrast changing memories has been
41:23established through Aaron and there's a
41:24specific reason for both masassa
41:26accessing the specific memories as well
41:28as masassa getting headaches from
41:30something that more clearly would give
41:32you a headache the only thing that's not
41:33heavily tied in is why masassa can
41:35access only moments when she remembers
41:37trauma it's a bit oddly specific and you
41:39can kind of tell my excuses uh path is
41:41mysterious [ __ ] you this was actually
41:43kind of a general problem with the
41:44ending and it's why it didn't feel as
41:45tightly written a lot of the things came
41:47out of nowhere with no ties to anything
41:49that came before and when they did they
41:51often didn't even connect to themselves
41:52very congruently like uh imir loving
41:55King Fritz that idea is basically not
41:57connected at all to anything Emir has
41:59done like she looked at him kissing a
42:01girl once that's that's it that's the
42:03closest you get and then MAA breaking
42:05that love why her why did you not run
42:07into someone else who could do that in
42:092,000 years or like Aaron killing his
42:11mom in concept it's the same plot twist
42:13as the gisha plot twist an event in the
42:15past actually turned out to be eron but
42:17the difference is all in the connections
42:19attack Titan seeing the future as well
42:21established Elan and thus the founder
42:23can view memories in general therefore
42:25you can interact with the past meanwhile
42:27gish's character actively makes more
42:29sense by being manipulated by Aaron he
42:31says himself he's a doctor and he's
42:33never killed anyone before it can also
42:35only be used in this moment here so it
42:37doesn't disconnect itself from the rest
42:39of the narrative meanwhile the color
42:41twist uses an entirely disconnected
42:43concept the founder can control Titans
42:46across time and that in itself
42:47disconnects itself for the rest of the
42:49narrator cuz there's like a million
42:51different ways you could have used that
42:52to better results so instead it's like
42:54oh well the future and past happen all
42:56at once so he has to do it but then that
42:59just disconnects it from aon's character
43:00cuz unlike manipulating gisha to get the
43:02founder there's no reason he'd even want
43:04to kill his mom so there's no reason
43:06this would happen instead of all the
43:08other potential options in the first
43:09place it's it's just kind of a mess with
43:11gisha everything lines up with carler
43:14it's like wait wait but why though but
43:17that's what made aot feel very tightly
43:19written its elements being logically
43:20connected to other elements in the plot
43:23after Massa expended all her options for
43:25changing the future she she found she
43:27could access only one more moment in
43:29time this moment here under the tree
43:33because it didn't match the others
43:34masasa theorizes that she could access
43:36it because this was the last moment in
43:39time emia accessed after all if masasa
43:42can influence time it was probably the
43:44ninth of emia that strove for Freedom
43:46trying to control memories to influence
43:48who would be the next attack Titan but
43:50if this is the last moment imia accessed
43:53then it means she stopped trying to
43:54influence time after this masasa thinks
43:57Emir gave Aaron some memory he had to
43:59guide him towards the attack time but
44:00only the feeling remained because
44:03masassa overwrote those memories here
44:06and because of this emia knew her
44:08memories were being overwritten by
44:09someone else which means she knew she'd
44:12have her power taken away and nothing
44:14she did was changing it masassa says
44:17that was when she gave up in life she
44:20was a slave in death she was a slave
44:23even that small fraction of her that
44:24longed to escape was denied a future
44:27Alan asks why would you overwrite those
44:31memories and masassa says that she might
44:34actually be able to stop the rumbling
44:35from happening when she first received
44:37her powers she felt like her brain was
44:39overloading that she was dying if she
44:42does the same thing to Aaron it'll kill
44:45him do you see how I'm already reusing
44:47the memory scramble concept if Too Many
44:49Memories can cause headaches it can
44:51probably cause death this is what I mean
44:53this is how you make the writing feel
44:54tight sorry I'm kind of spoiling the
44:56mood here with that was a dramatic
44:57moment Aman asks if she could actually
45:00do it and she says if it's the right
45:02thing to do then yes she already put a
45:05blade through his neck once after all
45:08but that's why masassa brought Arman
45:09here for advice masassa is unsure if
45:13this is the right thing to do I mean
45:16Aaron is just a child here in truth she
45:20doesn't even really know what to even
45:22value anymore she doesn't really believe
45:24there's even a single part of her that
45:25wasn't attributable to to Aaron how can
45:28she decide what's right if she doesn't
45:30even know who she is after much thought
45:33Arman says they have to it's the only
45:37way they have left to save the
45:40world and so masasa nods she kneels in
45:45front of Aaron and places her hands on
45:48his neck slowly his expression changes
45:51he starts to have a dream that slowly
45:54changes into a nightmare masassa puts on
45:57a brave face that slowly turns to pain
45:59but she pushes through it she has to do
46:02what's right she doubles down her grip
46:04gets tighter as she consoles herself as
46:06Tears start to well in her eyes she says
46:08this world is so
46:12cruel and then something red catches her
46:15eye she looks down and the scarf is back
46:19around her neck the younger Massa that
46:21was collecting sticks up until now
46:23noticed Aaron having a nightmare and
46:25knelt down in front of him to see if he
46:26he'll wake up by himself visually this
46:30puts the scarf around massa's neck the
46:33real macassa remembers the last half of
46:35the phrase her own Mantra her own
46:38identity as she thinks and gains more
46:41Resolve in it she begins to finish the
46:43sentence this world is so cruel but but
46:48and she Yanks her hands away and pulls
46:51back she regains her composure as the
46:54younger masasa begins to wake him up see
46:56you later Aaron says the older masassa
46:59as she picks herself up Alan starts to
47:02get annoyed what are you doing this is
47:05actually a Counterpoint to the bird
47:07wrapping massa's scarf around her the
47:09reason this feels corny is again total
47:11disconnection a bird would never grab a
47:13scarf like this and there's no reason it
47:15would grab it right now at this
47:16emotional climax it's pure coincidence
47:18so from a writer who can write whatever
47:20he wants to happen it's completely
47:22unimpressive even if this is Aaron
47:24reincarnated that wasn't established nor
47:26is that a concept connected to or rying
47:28on anything else in the story so instead
47:30we have a way to put the scarf around
47:32her that's completely baked into the
47:34plot with MAA having a specific reason
47:36to be right there at that moment to see
47:38the scarf on her even the concept of
47:40existing in memories but not being
47:42detectable by the people in them was
47:44already used before and all of this was
47:46even foreshadowed exactly all the way
47:48back in chapter 1 which also makes this
47:51a counter to the original answer to this
47:53mystery nobody even really knows what
47:55this scene was it's implied to be
47:56Aaron's memory changing despite aiman's
47:59being immune masassa is the one seeing
48:02this despite it being Aaron having these
48:03memories all Aron saw was masassa going
48:05for his neck with no reason why he'd
48:07also be seeing this at the same time and
48:10he didn't even have the founder or the
48:11attack Titan at this point so how could
48:13he be getting these memories in the
48:15first place but the way I've done it
48:17I've literally even paid attention to
48:18what aon's dream was in the anime does
48:21this or does this not look like a total
48:24scramble of memories flooding his mind
48:26and overloading his brain okay back to
48:29the story masasa stopped for some reason
48:31and is pissed masasa asks why are we
48:35doing this again am is like um the
48:38destruction of the world but masassa
48:40says but if that didn't happen we would
48:43have died instead right mly would have
48:45killed us what's the difference Aman
48:48says it's the number of innocent people
48:50saved obviously and masassa says right

51:42her up and starts walking as she starts
51:44to explain why she saved him I I wanted
51:49to I wanted to destroy it all but most
51:53of all I wanted the Royal bloodline to

52:02them not until I realized they weren't
52:05in a castle or a
52:08palace they were on a
52:11farm with animals and children
52:15playing I watched their faces as the
52:18Titans came in we flash back to see the

52:27they're powerless to do anything we see
52:29the situation unfold as Emir describes
52:32it she says one of the children let out
52:35the pigs so they could
52:37escape the queen saw it but she didn't
52:41cut out his eye or make him run away
52:43from dogs or shoot him with
52:46arrows she held
52:49him and
52:52laughed I wanted to go to that farm
52:56so I spared them we see the Titans split
53:00upon approaching the farm and go around
53:03Aaron stands just outside the path tree
53:06just comprehending what she said he
53:08falls to his knees and balls holding her
53:10close Emir says after she did that she
53:14slowly started to remember how to feel
53:16and realized why she wanted to spare
53:19them that's why emia sacrificed herself
53:22for Aaron writing his story is like
53:24really difficult she's a million miles
53:25away from the conflict and pregnant but
53:28this is actually one of the few I men
53:30through her kindness she not only
53:32unknowingly saves herself and the farm
53:34but unknowingly saves Aaron as well this
53:37actually used to just be Historia
53:38hugging the kid that let the pigs out
53:40but I realized I was actually just doing
53:41the same thing the original did where
53:43it's like really across the whole world
53:46no one else overcame their love and
53:48killed their parents for the greater
53:49good it'd be super coincidental for this
53:51Farm to be the one place imir spared cuz
53:54it just so happened to have a kid free
53:56the p pigs but then I realized I could
53:58have a kid free the pigs as a direct
54:00reaction to the rumbling and Amir can
54:03home in on this farm specifically
54:05because she's connected to Historia
54:06through her Royal Blood also the farm is
54:09literally already established to have
54:10farm animals and orphans it was perfect
54:14anyway after a moment of Emir not really
54:16understanding why Aaron is crying she
54:18indicates to him to lift her into the
54:20path tree she says goodbye and he holds
54:24her dying body into path
54:27she disappears and before paths can
54:29collapse completely Aaron steps in
54:32himself and this is the end of the path
54:34segments Annie who's been lying in the
54:37dirt accepting her fate realizes that
54:40the burn on her face has stopped at a
54:43total loss of what to do she runs she
54:46just runs we switch scenes again yena
54:49looks at the baby in Levi's arms she
54:51grows quiet Levi walks over and hands
54:54the baby to her saying the burn will
54:56kill them but since yena doesn't have
54:58the burn she must take care of it she
55:01holds it but she's reluctant like what
55:02do you expect me to do with this but she
55:04sigh and accepts she looks at the baby
55:08and thinks to the last moment she
55:09witnessed of Zeke then the burn stops
55:14Levi ask the baby back and yena says no
55:18it's okay lightly smiling at the baby
55:21perhaps understanding Zeke's Choice a
55:23little bit more finally realizing what
55:25could be more important than saving the
55:28world finally we go back to masassa and
55:31Aaron they both hit the ground their
55:33blades in the neck gone Aaron is still
55:35waking up masassa thinks to herself
55:37moves further back along where she came
55:39from and jumps from the cliff using her
55:41odm gear she looks around the rocks at
55:44the bottom are covered in bodies and out
55:46to a certain point it's effectively a
55:48sea of blood she finds what she's
55:50looking for she pulls a red scarf from a
55:53sea of blood I'm sorry she says to the
55:58corpses she doesn't wear it though she
56:00just Rings The Blood Out and puts it
56:02away when she gets back onto the cliff
56:05she sees Arman he's given rhina what
56:07first aid he can but he needs to be
56:09taken to on yapon masassa goes to leave
56:12but Arman looks ominously in the
56:13direction of Aaron Arman asks if masassa
56:17would stop him masassa says she can't
56:20make a better world by controlling
56:22people but she thinks that whatever
56:24Arman does she'll trust that it's the
56:26right decision she leaves and Arman
56:29moves further up Arman kicks Aaron awake
56:32he stares at him with Fury waiting to
56:34hear what he says after he comes to his
56:36senses Aaron just off the back of
56:38finding out her story is alive
56:41Smiles this is perfect we can finally
56:45have peace Arman the outside world is
56:48gone imir isn't trying to kill us
56:50anymore we no longer have any reason to
56:52kill each other we're free Arman what
56:56part out of this is
56:58freedom what do you mean no one's trying
57:01to kill us anymore nothing's stopping us
57:03anymore we could just go home and
57:07pretend none of it ever happened Arman
57:10Twitches in
57:11Anger right Armon says Aaron and Arman
57:16loses it Arman starts beating the [ __ ]
57:18out of Aaron but Aaron instinctively is
57:20about to fight back but then he doesn't
57:22Arman punches him hard and Aaron falls
57:24back a few meters from The Cliff face
57:26Aaron starts trying to appeal to Aman
57:27even though he doesn't believe it
57:28himself don't you understand Aman the
57:30cycle of Revenge born from hate is
57:33finally buried underg ground we finally
57:35have peace real peace but almond says
57:39don't give me that [ __ ] I sore it
57:41when I killed pixus I saw it we see a
57:44flashback to some of pix's blood hitting
57:46Alan in the face his eyes widen as he
57:49sees a memory and says you acted like it
57:51was naive to think Humanity would be
57:52United by a common enemy so why the hell
57:55would you think peace would be so easy
57:56to achieve as just killing every enemy I
57:59know you you're not stupid enough to
58:01think you wouldn't just make more
58:03enemies this catches Aaron of guard he
58:05tries to protest but Arman says don't
58:07[ __ ] me don't pretend this was some
58:09heroic cause you did this to save
58:11yourself he yells it cuts Aaron deep
58:14affirming his own worries but he says
58:17that's not true I did it to save you too
58:21but not even Aaron is sure if he means
58:23it and Arman sees it [ __ ] this [ __ ] all
58:27of this he grabs Aaron by the collar and
58:29he forces him towards the edge Aaron
58:31tells him that even if it's not why he
58:33did it it doesn't change the fact that
58:34no one else needs to die this is still
58:37their only chance at peace Arman shouts
58:39you don't even get it there is no peace
58:42in case you didn't notice everyone hates
58:44you including me you don't think we
58:45don't want you dead now the only thing
58:48that's preventing peace is your
58:49existence so what about I do it huh
58:52sacrifice your life for the sake of
58:54Peace he pushes him up to the edge no
58:56more [ __ ] no more high moral excuses
58:59about cycles of violences and doing it
59:01for other people give me one good reason
59:04why I shouldn't throw you off this Cliff
59:07but when he tries to hold him off the
59:08edge Aaron finally grabs his arm so he's
59:11not dangling helplessly his pacifistic
59:14facade breaks as he pulls himself up to
59:17arman's face and answers his question
59:20because Historia is alive and her child
59:24is mine
59:27so yes if it wasn't obvious I like the
59:29Aon and Historia ship I think it had
59:31better chemistry it would constitute as
59:32a plot twist and so better for Attack on
59:34Titan as it doesn't just affirm your
59:36expectations and finally hear me out
59:38what the [ __ ] do you do with Historia
59:40like I can do stuff with Mass's
59:42character she's in the conflict she's
59:44able-bodied and she has a projected Arc
59:46that I can play into with all the
59:47characters around her again histor is a
59:50Million Miles Away With No Other Name
59:52characters and is pregnant at the very
59:54least if there was a trick to to her
59:56pregnancy that she became pregnant
59:58because she wanted to and not because
1:00:00she had to to live like this panel
1:00:02originally implies it means her Storia
1:00:04didn't end her character by regressing
1:00:06by having a child with someone she
1:00:08wanted to it means she took her own life
1:00:10into her own hands and chose to live for
1:00:12herself likewise fully allying with
1:00:15Aaron in the rumbling as this implies
1:00:17does the same thing and just like Aaron
1:00:19it Mak scenes like this I'm starting to
1:00:22get sick of humanity I say let him get
1:00:24wiped out by Titans and if that makes me
1:00:26an enemy of humanity so be it just as
1:00:29retroactively impactful as scenes like
1:00:32[Music]
1:00:36this that's why Aaron and his story is
1:00:38the right narrative Choice all that
1:00:40being said though I still had to find
1:00:41the right way to reveal it aot is not a
1:00:43romance and so the confirmation of the
1:00:45ship had to fulfill a narrative purpose
1:00:47in this case just like how Arman was
1:00:50worried about Connie screwing up peace
1:00:51with the Warriors by feeding Falon to
1:00:53his mom Arman knows that killing Aaron
1:00:55will screw up peace with Historia
1:00:57because if what Aaron said is right then
1:00:59Historia definitely values him over the
1:01:02alliance also it answers another mystery
1:01:04in what memory Massa saw from Aaron and
1:01:06in hindsight the conversation about it
1:01:08gives an explanation for why Aaron fell
1:01:10for Historia and poetically it was the
1:01:13same reason masassa fell for Aon so it
1:01:15has a bit of that ironic tragedy to it
1:01:17that's even like baked into the plot a
1:01:19bit anyway Arman wants so desperately to
1:01:23throw him off but he's holding himself
1:01:25back back a fraction of the old Arman
1:01:27remains that knows what he has to do and
1:01:30Aaron knows it too [ __ ] how do you
1:01:33know that imia told me Historia Farm is
1:01:36the only thing left but that's fine if
1:01:38you don't believe me wait till we get
1:01:40back home to Paradis if Paradis is
1:01:42completely gone just execute me on the
1:01:43spot where's the harm in just making
1:01:45sure right no need to be Reckless right
1:01:48masassa took pass I don't have power
1:01:50anymore I can't fight back Arman is so
1:01:53close to throwing him off but he doesn't
1:01:54do it that's right

1:02:01it will destroy any chance of Peace
1:02:03maybe you can hide it from the remnants

1:02:13dissolve on my death it was already
1:02:15decided that they default to her after

1:04:06Begins the final real conflict of Attack
1:04:08on Titan while not everything is
1:04:11directly caused by Aaron if he' not
1:04:12freed yir and activated the rumbling a
1:04:14lot of terrible things wouldn't have
1:04:16happened to everon here even Zeke's euth
1:04:18and Asia plan would have been more
1:04:19preferable to what actually happened
1:04:21Peak has lost her leg and her arm and
1:04:24her father and her home country country
1:04:26because of Aaron jeanan has lost his mom
1:04:28Connie Hani and his home country because
1:04:30of Aaron Falon and Gabby have lost their
1:04:32parents and their country because of Aon
1:04:33as well as so many others even before
1:04:35the rumbling they all hate Aaron at this
1:04:37point onong Capon doesn't quite hate
1:04:39Aaron but he has lost his home country
1:04:41and family and while he strikes me as
1:04:43the most mature and doesn't want
1:04:44needless Conflict for the sake of the
1:04:46alliance he's not going to get in the
1:04:48way of these four demanding Aaron's
1:04:49death Rina is unconscious yena is
1:04:52indifferent Levi is indifferent and
1:04:54macassa is missing the second alen
1:04:56arrives with Aaron tied up Falco who is
1:04:58again fully bloodlusted demands Aaron be
1:05:01killed Gabby remains quiet there's
1:05:03conflicted fury on her face but it's
1:05:05clear she sides with Falco meanwhile
1:05:08Peak and Jean both think he has to pay
1:05:10for his crimes amen gets it hell he
1:05:13wants it himself but they can't he has
1:05:16reason to believe that a small Bastion
1:05:18of Life still exists on Paradis Aaron
1:05:21started a family with Historia if Aaron
1:05:23is not brought back safely they'll be
1:05:25risking entirely new conflict between
1:05:27the alliance and Historia with the
1:05:28aorists and so Arman must convince this
1:05:31group to not forgive Aaron but to make
1:05:34peace with him and so this is the real
1:05:36climax of arman's character him becoming
1:05:39a devil was a fake out once all the
1:05:41blood is spilled and the dust finally
1:05:42settles a devil is no longer necessary
1:05:45they need a naive hopeful Attack on
1:05:49Titan has always been a very gritty
1:05:50realistic story but it's never been
1:05:52pessimistic the story built up that
1:05:54violence was the only option option
1:05:56there shouldn't be DSX Mariners or talk
1:05:58no Jutsu to end the conflict but at the
1:06:00very end you can still give that little
1:06:03bit of nuance that spark of hope just
1:06:05like the campfire scene when the number
1:06:07is small enough when people know each
1:06:09other talking can work but this is not
1:06:13so much talking forgiveness and mutual
1:06:15understanding as much as it is the
1:06:16gritty realistic equivalent World Peace
1:06:19may not be possible but diplomacy maybe
1:06:22that will work a lot of people say the
1:06:24story needs to kill a that he must die
1:06:26for the things he's done as a villain of
1:06:28the story but I ask you what better way
1:06:30to climax the story about the cycle of
1:06:32violence than taking characters who
1:06:35understand the cycle of violence and
1:06:36challenging them to break the cycle in
1:06:38the face of the largest mass murder in
1:06:41human history aon's not the breaker of
1:06:43the cycle he can't break the cycle he's
1:06:46only perpetuated it but the last
1:06:48remnants of humanity Our Heroes ending
1:06:51the cycle is their role and it's not
1:06:55fair they shouldn't be burdened with it
1:06:57that they have to be the ones to let go
1:06:59but that's the [ __ ] point if that
1:07:02annoys you if you're outraged that the
1:07:03alliance should have to make peace with
1:07:05Aaron is that feeling not the perfect
1:07:07test of if you would break the cycle
1:07:10everyone loves to talk about how they're
1:07:12above all the violence and the killing
1:07:14needs to stop at any cost okay let's
1:07:17take that to the extreme make peace with
1:07:19him H see it's not so easy now is it but
1:07:21that's the hypothetical I'm presenting
1:07:23make peace with the evil mustache man
1:07:24and The Killing violence will stop or
1:07:26take revenge and it continues those are
1:07:29your only two options what do you pick
1:07:31are you capable of giving up revenge for
1:07:33the sake of Peace anyway at first the
1:07:36group deny killing Aaron will result in
1:07:38Conflict Historia won't even know but
1:07:40Arman argues that hiding is a massive
1:07:42risk like Aaron said Historia knows them
1:07:45enough to know when they're acting
1:07:46suspicious also she's going to be a
1:07:48problem and points to yena who isn't
1:07:50going to just agree to keeping secrets
1:07:53also Arman argues what is it look like
1:07:55to Historia and the agorist if the
1:07:57rumbling was complete but Aaron didn't
1:07:59live you think they'll believe us that
1:08:01we killed him right at the end it
1:08:02already looks suspicious bringing Aaron
1:08:05back guarantees peace between us and the
1:08:08jeras remnants Jean asked how viable
1:08:11peace was with the agas in the first
1:08:12place he saw firsthand what they were
1:08:14like they'd be making a deal with the
1:08:17devil but Arman retorts that the outside
1:08:19world was no different and they still
1:08:21Tred to make peace with them Arman says
1:08:23he's the only one being consistent and
1:08:25Jean is making excuses we were prepared
1:08:27to do anything to make peace even if it
1:08:29meant Die Trying nothing has changed
1:08:32will you be able to live with yourself
1:08:34if you go back on that now at the very
1:08:36end and Jean starts to waver but Falon
1:08:40says maybe I don't care maybe we don't
1:08:42have to go back or I'll kill Aaron and
1:08:45you can blame it on me point is he needs
1:08:47to pay for his crimes Are you seriously
1:08:49even considering just letting him get
1:08:51away with it Jan and Peak agree they
1:08:54can't just let let him get away with it
1:08:56Aman says okay so you think Divine
1:08:58punishment is all that matters right
1:09:00then what about us I planned the raid on
1:09:02liberio and blew up the port I killed
1:09:04thousands of Innocents what about Peak
1:09:06she turned the entire population of
1:09:08rakugo a village of innocent civilians
1:09:10into Titans speaking of Jean shot a
1:09:12thunder spear at you a child just to
1:09:15kill Peak and Annie and Rina destroyed
1:09:17the wall what should their punishments
1:09:19be Falco stutters that that was
1:09:21different but Arman says the only
1:09:23difference is the degree I blew up the
1:09:25support because I felt like I had to
1:09:27maybe there was another way but if we
1:09:28didn't get Aaron back we would have been
1:09:30defenseless from Marley Aaron did the
1:09:32rumbling under the exact same logic the
1:09:34only difference is he was willing to
1:09:36kill far more Innocents to secure our
1:09:38safety so if the only difference is the
1:09:40degree and we're giving out punishment
1:09:42how about this aarin dies but we all
1:09:44lose an arm and Peak starts to waiver a
1:09:47bit she's already lost an arm and a leg
1:09:49but Falco stays determined he's about to
1:09:52reply but Arman Cuts him off and before
1:09:54you answer that what should Gabby's
1:09:56punishment be she shot Sasha while we
1:09:59were retreating less she didn't even
1:10:01have the excuse of needing to do it to
1:10:03survive Gabby and Falco look at each
1:10:05other Gabby looks a little frightened
1:10:07and Falco is caught off guard a Pang of
1:10:09guilt across his face Arman notices this
1:10:11interaction Gabby is the only one Falco
1:10:14has shown weakness for he goes to
1:10:16Defender but Gabby Cuts him off Aman is
1:10:19right she does deserve punishment she's
1:10:22still full of Rage but guilt too she
1:10:24says if that that's what needs to be
1:10:26done for aroner to die then she'll do it
1:10:28take her arm as divine retribution for
1:10:31Sasha what's one more piece of her she
1:10:33already lost an eye and a foot at this
1:10:36Jean finally backs down damn it no we're
1:10:40not doing this I'm not going to cut arms
1:10:42off children for
1:10:43this do what you want Peak looks at Jon
1:10:47and goes silent in thought Falco
1:10:49stammers he's losing his support and
1:10:51more importantly he obviously doesn't
1:10:53want Gabby to suffer but he's stumbling
1:10:55to find an excuse to justify his rage
1:10:57without hurting Gabby but Falco rethinks
1:10:59and says right in reference to Jean
1:11:01Gabby is a kid she didn't know what she
1:11:03was doing she was indoctrinated Erin
1:11:06knew exactly what he was doing Arman
1:11:08responds and what about you are you and
1:11:11Gabby still indoctrinated or are you
1:11:13aware of your actions and the ripples
1:11:15they'll cause of course I'm aware Gabby
1:11:18and I both understand now you can't take
1:11:20our decisions away just cuz we're kids
1:11:22amen says I'm not taking anything away
1:11:23from you I'm asking you if now that
1:11:26you've grown up you'll be responsible
1:11:28for this choice and the punishment it'll
1:11:30inflict on the children who aren't yet
1:11:31old enough to understand you want the
1:11:34punishment to go easy on the kids but
1:11:35you're not the only kids involved in
1:11:37this you might want to kill Aaron but
1:11:39what are you going to say to his kid in
1:11:4110 years when they ask why their father
1:11:42had to die also did you know Historia
1:11:45cares for a whole group of Orphans on
1:11:47her Farm too out of the goodness of her
1:11:49heart she gave them a home what happens
1:11:51to them when this one choice spirals out
1:11:53of control even if if it doesn't what if
1:11:56that child pointing to the one held by
1:11:58Levi is split from the other children
1:12:00simply because of this feud between
1:12:01adults do you have any idea the Ripple
1:12:03effects that that will have over
1:12:05Generations if we want any chance at
1:12:07lasting peace it won't be good enough
1:12:09just to keep to ourselves that choice
1:12:12alone will affect the children if you're
1:12:14no longer indoctrinated if you're mature
1:12:16enough to make your own choices now will
1:12:18you bear the responsibility of dragging
1:12:19the next generation of kids into
1:12:21everything you've suffered Alman looks
1:12:23at Gaby's face and notices that she's

1:12:51don't care about any of this no one
1:12:53cared about me or who I love this whole
1:12:55time all that time I tried to be good
1:12:57but now the second I finally want
1:12:59payback now I have to be a good person
1:13:02[ __ ] that and at this Gabby who's been
1:13:04watching Falco starts to waver even more
1:13:08it's like looking into a mirror of her
1:13:10past self the guilt and self-hatred is
1:13:12starting to tear her up Arman notices
1:13:15this so Arman ignores Falco and directly
1:13:18looks at Gabby isn't that what Mr brow
1:13:21said we keep wondering in this Forest
1:13:23making the same mistakes over and over
1:13:25at the very least we have to get the
1:13:28kids out of the forest don't we at this
1:13:32Gabby continues to falter she gets less
1:13:34and less confident but she holds on
1:13:36Falco asks what he's talking about she
1:13:38explains how the brow family saved her
1:13:40but at the end she adds in a shaky
1:13:43retort but but Mr brow said it was the
1:13:47adults responsibility to Bear the sins
1:13:50not children and Falco laughs he tells
1:13:53Arman then you already failed you
1:13:57already got us wrapped up in this why
1:13:59should you get to decide when it stops
1:14:01you said yourself what atrocities you
1:14:03committed the only one who should get
1:14:05aay in it is US Arman is watching them
1:14:08carefully as Falco talks Arman eyes
1:14:10Gabby he knows he's getting through to
1:14:12her he turns to Falon and says you're
1:14:15right you're so right it takes Falon
1:14:19back a bit you were innocent in this and
1:14:21we dragged you into it we couldn't keep
1:14:23you out of the forest we didn't even
1:14:24trust C and because of it you
1:14:26accumulated all that hate the same
1:14:28mistake over and over it's already too
1:14:32late for us to change anything the only
1:14:35ones who can make the choice to stop
1:14:36anymore the only ones that even have the
1:14:40right is you he looks at both Gabby and
1:14:43Falco he takes the blade from his odm
1:14:46gear and hands it to Falco Gabby watches
1:14:49Falco she's conflicted but Falco isn't
1:14:52he steps up to Aaron his anger and
1:14:54resolve building with every step Aon
1:14:56looks up this wasn't part of his and
1:14:58arman's deal but even when tied up he
1:15:00can still fight back he gives one last
1:15:02look at Arman but he reads his
1:15:03expression trust in the plan Aon grits
1:15:07his teeth Falco raises the blade yells
1:15:09out and brings it down before suddenly
1:15:11Gabby yells out to him runs on her stump
1:15:14of a foot and hugs him from behind
1:15:16slightly falling in the process Falco
1:15:19stops Gabby cries please no more
1:15:22fighting I can't do it anymore I'm so
1:15:26tired he halfway turns around to look at
1:15:28her as Gabby balls into his chest he
1:15:31looks down and sees the blood from her
1:15:32broken stitches on her stump pooling At
1:15:35His Feet the emotion finally comes back
1:15:37to him he drops the blade hugs Gabby
1:15:39back as they both cry and slide to the
1:15:41ground I'm sorry I'm so sorry I'm really
1:15:46disappointed in how little was done with
1:15:48Gabby and Falco I really thought
1:15:49especially after the children of the
1:15:51forest theme that they were going for
1:15:52they were going to play more of a
1:15:53crucial role in the way the played out
1:15:55and they just kind of didn't [ __ ] was
1:15:57incredibly static as a character and
1:15:58while Gabby had an arc it really lacked
1:16:00a good moment to crystallize it she
1:16:02saves Kai but that's not really a
1:16:04demonstration of her emotional gross as
1:16:05it is just getting Kaa to forgive her so
1:16:08instead I thought it apt to roll reverse
1:16:10the two of them and give them weight in
1:16:11the plot by having Falco be so changed
1:16:14from this that it forces the final
1:16:16decision of whether the kids get out of
1:16:17the forest to him at the same time I can
1:16:20use it to climax arm's character by
1:16:22having him lowkey manipulating them to
1:16:24aim for this out come he ultimately is
1:16:26forced by Falco to make a gamble but
1:16:28this piece is his achievement as much as
1:16:30it is Falco's choice but of course Gabby
1:16:33still plays a key role here in this
1:16:35without her whole journey here without
1:16:37Falco's guidance she'd never have pulled
1:16:39him and herself back from the edge I
1:16:42absolutely adore Gabby's character she's
1:16:45competent she's got a unique personality
1:16:47World builds Marley's propaganda plays a
1:16:49brutal role in the plot and themes and
1:16:51she's a great parallel to Aaron Gabby
1:16:53letting Aaron Jer live is I think the
1:16:55perfect conclusion to her character her
1:16:57defining character moment was centered
1:16:59around wanting to kill Aaron Jer just
1:17:01like how Aaron wanted to kill all the
1:17:03Titans at the star of the series but
1:17:05when she finally gets what she wants the
1:17:07journey has changed her so much that she
1:17:09takes the weight of the world on her
1:17:10shoulders as the only one who can the
1:17:12only one who can get through to Falco
1:17:14and she breaks the cycle anyway with all
1:17:18that now said and done Arman releases
1:17:19Aaron and says he will give the survey
1:17:21core their final mission everyone looks
1:17:23in curiosity
1:17:25he says we failed to save Paradis and we
1:17:28failed to save Humanity every sacrifice
1:17:30made in our name amounted to nothing but
1:17:33a single life saved but I ask you what
1:17:36does that mean to the survey core
1:17:38failure has always been our Legacy and
1:17:41yet we always pushed on why it's because
1:17:45the wings of our Banner don't represent
1:17:47freedom I couldn't think of anything
1:17:48more hypocritical our wings represent
1:17:51hope even in the darkest hour when
1:17:53monsters Bear Down on us when there's no
1:17:55gas left in the tank and everything is
1:17:57broken the only thing that remains of us
1:18:00that can never be destroyed is Hope a
1:18:02single child saved is not defeat it's
1:18:05hope one that will be passed from
1:18:07generation to generation until our
1:18:09failures here is nothing but a shadow of
1:18:11what came after that has always been our
1:18:14way so this is my final order as leader
1:18:17of the scouts put down your blades drop
1:18:20them off the edge devote your hearts not
1:18:22to the scouts not to me not to Erin or
1:18:25the jras not to killing the Titans or
1:18:27the enemies over the seas devote your
1:18:29hearts to the children to the Future
1:18:32dedicate your hearts a gust of wind
1:18:35blows over the cliff a moment of tension
1:18:38everyone is a little unsure Arman
1:18:40maintains his
1:18:41expression on yapon speaks up I'll do it
1:18:46I've lost just as much as anyone here
1:18:48but nothing can be done about it now the
1:18:51only thing left for us is the children
1:18:53the future
1:18:55in that sense I think we got lucky
1:18:57that's a far greater cause than most
1:18:59I'll gladly dedicate my heart to that
1:19:02there's a small pause and then but I'm
1:19:05not survey core so I can't really speak
1:19:08for you he's interrupted by a loud thump
1:19:11Rina half unconscious dedicates his
1:19:14heart with his only remaining arm Sean
1:19:17says conscientious piece of [ __ ] Rhino
1:19:20raggedly replies it's the only way and
1:19:23you know it we just have have to keep
1:19:26moving forward Jean sigh and dedicates
1:19:30his heart Levi Smiles lightly and
1:19:33dedicates his heart Aaron nods at Arman
1:19:36and dedicates his heart Peaks eyes and
1:19:39says I'm not really survey core but what
1:19:41the hell and dedicates her heart onon
1:19:43shrugs and follows her along with Gabby
1:19:45and Falco everyone here except for yena
1:19:48dedicates their heart they walk up to
1:19:50the edge and they drop their blades and
1:19:53suddenly there's a bolt of Titan
1:19:56lightning over the cliff everyone's like
1:19:58oh what the [ __ ] now but then out from
1:20:00the water rises a dragon a a [ __ ]
1:20:04what don't give me that look I can do
1:20:06this it's perfectly possible within the
1:20:08we've established the sand of path can
1:20:10make anything even in the original it
1:20:12seemed air just chose to use her powers
1:20:14to make Titans In Her Image and not cuz
1:20:16she was like restricted in what she
1:20:18could build so what if masassa chose to
1:20:20build something different she knows what
1:20:22a dragon looks like thanks to kiomi she
1:20:25wants to create Beauty rather than
1:20:26cruelty and she wants to get the almma
1:20:28beos on her side makes perfect sense
1:20:31plus there's the whole nidhog thing in
1:20:33Norse mythology I mentioned earlier I
1:20:34know it's kind of out there and I guess
1:20:36if it's too much you can just have this
1:20:37be a Titan but I'm pretty sure this
1:20:39works despite seeming initially out of
1:20:41place I mean it's the end of the story
1:20:43you can dramatically change up the
1:20:45Aesthetics and mechanics as long as it
1:20:46makes sense right to tell the truth this
1:20:48was originally going to be just a Titan
1:20:51but I found this works better one of the
1:20:52actual redeeming qualities the ending
1:20:54before the eight pages is that at the
1:20:56very least the Titan curse is destroyed
1:20:59so that at least feels climactic and
1:21:01conclusive especially with that being
1:21:03ain's original goal but I realized I
1:21:06didn't have that here at the same time I
1:21:09don't really like stories that start
1:21:10with an amazing interesting world and
1:21:12then make the conclusion the world's
1:21:14just like ours now boring so this was
1:21:17the best of both worlds the power was
1:21:18not destroyed it just changed hands but
1:21:21in doing so its aesthetic change so it's
1:21:23actually accurate to say that the Titans
1:21:25along with amir's curse did actually end
1:21:28also this is why I had air make crazy
1:21:30weird looking Titans earlier and had our
1:21:32characters use Sands themselves to make
1:21:33castles and syringes beyond their
1:21:35literal purpose in the story it was to
1:21:37warm the audience up to this sort of
1:21:39thing anyway the dragon launches from
1:21:41the water climbs high above them and for
1:21:43the first time in a long time yena has
1:21:46that same look of a that she had with
1:21:49Zeke the dragon lands in front of them
1:21:52climb on says the dragon so uh this
1:21:56solves another problem with the original
1:21:58how' Mai get back to Paradis aimen more
1:22:01like Walkman uh the dragon flies low in
1:22:05the Sky low enough that their eye level
1:22:07with the Colossal tines the alliance
1:22:09watch the Colossal start to open their
1:22:11eyes and eventually they start marching
1:22:14again as they do their bodies Sprout
1:22:16with seeds grass and flowers grow in
1:22:18them as they move with each step they
1:22:20leave a trail of greenery in the turn
1:22:22soil actually the seeds and the eyes
1:22:24opening could probably happen or start
1:22:26to happen during arman's speech that
1:22:28might be a nice touch but the walking
1:22:30begins now eventually the dragon catches
1:22:33up with Annie who's still just [ __ ]
1:22:36running the dragon lands in front of her
1:22:39forcing her to get on Annie gingerly
1:22:41boards not sure what's going on but when
1:22:44she looks at Falco the guilt overwhelms
1:22:46her she begs for Falco to kill her but
1:22:48he tells her to just sit down Annie is
1:22:51inconsolable Arman leans against her and
1:22:53says I can't forgive that we on your
1:22:55soul I don't have the right but I can
1:22:58share it with you as they travel onon
1:23:01Capon looks at the baby and asks do you
1:23:03think he'll believe any of this Aaron
1:23:06asks if they should even tell him but if
1:23:08not what will they tell him yena says
1:23:12you'll tell him the truth I'll make sure
1:23:14of it they all look at her yena seems to
1:23:17have softened if you lie I'll tell him
1:23:20no more than that after Zeke died I had
1:23:24no stake in this I'm the closest thing
1:23:26you have to an unbiased party she puts
1:23:29her hand on the dragon the truth is all
1:23:32I ever wanted was to Bear witness to
1:23:34something great so I'll do it I'll get
1:23:37accounts from all of you and I'll make
1:23:39something future Generations can trust I
1:23:42will write your history this seems like
1:23:44a good conclusion for yena she's always
1:23:46been a Jester type character one who
1:23:48observes the plot especially after she
1:23:50lost her purpose but in seeing things
1:23:53through to the end she found something
1:23:54something to observe that was more
1:23:55interesting than what she expected I
1:23:57don't want her to stop being a fanatic
1:23:59that's kind of what made her interesting
1:24:01but changing its focus to Massa and what
1:24:03comes after this creates a unique but
1:24:05hopefully satisfying resolution to her
1:24:07character meanwhile Aaron watches
1:24:10solemnly the bodies of Connie and Hani
1:24:13wrapped up and brought with them I
1:24:16shouldn't mention this dragon is built
1:24:17in such a way that facilitates holding
1:24:19passengers and cargo fairly safely
1:24:22anyway Aon looks at the bodies and he
1:24:24leans lightly against Rina who's sitting
1:24:26next to him Rina has been sleeping a lot
1:24:29he's lost a ton of blood but he wakes up
1:24:31a little Aaron
1:24:33says if I forgave you for Breaking Down
1:24:36the Walls and killing my mother would
1:24:39you accept it Rina says weakly probably
1:24:43not I don't think either of us have that
1:24:46right Aaron looks away solemnly but
1:24:49after a moment he says I think you're
1:24:52too hard on yourself not me though I
1:24:56won't regret it I just did what I had to
1:24:58to survive we all did Rina says then why
1:25:03do you seem so sad Aaron ignores him and
1:25:06says deep down I think you know it's
1:25:09true that's why you saved me too when
1:25:12you could have just saved the
1:25:13others Rina
1:25:15says I can't forgive you Aaron I don't
1:25:18have the right Aaron scoffs it's unclear
1:25:21if that was what he was really asking
1:25:22for but he accepts right R's
1:25:27answer
1:25:28then can I thank you rina's eyes opened
1:25:32a little in surprise if it wasn't for
1:25:35you I really would have killed them
1:25:38all I know it means nothing coming from
1:25:41someone like me but to me you really did
1:25:44seem like
1:25:45one seemed like what says Rina weakly
1:25:50and Aaron
1:25:51says a hero
1:25:59Rina Rina rina's body falls over Aaron
1:26:03and the others look at his face there's
1:26:05a big warm smile across it but he's gone
1:26:10so originally I wasn't going to kill
1:26:12Rina the consequence for for his actions
1:26:14was originally just going to be he lost
1:26:15significantly more limbs than any of the
1:26:17others it's sort of my policy to not
1:26:19kill characters at the end like this but
1:26:21that's actually now running up against
1:26:22one of my newer writing theories that
1:26:24being connection and there's a much
1:26:26stronger connection between Rina using
1:26:28his body as a shield and actually dying
1:26:30from it than him just losing those limbs
1:26:33especially when compared to the rest of
1:26:34the cast who also lost limbs just a
1:26:36lesser amount Rina made a different
1:26:38Choice from the rest of the cast it's
1:26:40much better if the that results in a
1:26:42different outcome entirely not just a
1:26:44more extreme version of the same outcome
1:26:46it also makes what he did more heroic in
1:26:48retrospect and it works as a much more
1:26:50organic self-sacrifice that's actually
1:26:51baked into the plot and not just
1:26:53arbitrary like kani's original death
1:26:55especially because it demonstrates yes
1:26:58many of the alliance would have died if
1:27:00not for Rina saving them because rhina
1:27:02died as a result of trying to the big
1:27:05part of my problem with this kind of
1:27:06death is also closure but Riner is
1:27:08debatably the one character who can find
1:27:10closure in death and people predicted it
1:27:13for ages that he would have a heroic
1:27:14death and to be honest I don't think
1:27:16that that's really closure but he lives
1:27:18long enough to see he made the right
1:27:20choice and even get what he always
1:27:22wanted without even trying to this time
1:27:24he went out as a hero you can add
1:27:27obligatory Alliance crying over rhinos
1:27:29scenes here not really going to cover
1:27:31that although I will make a specific
1:27:32note Aaron doesn't cry but he does look
1:27:35depressed as [ __ ] even more so than when
1:27:37he was watching the bodies later on in
1:27:39this journey after that's done we next
1:27:41cut to the azimos floating in the sea in
1:27:43their life rafts the dragon tells the
1:27:45group to hold on it Dives just under the
1:27:47water surface and then dramatically
1:27:49Rises up in front of the azimo engineers
1:27:52after a moment of shock and awe the
1:27:54Dragon speaks I'm sorry the rumbling
1:27:57couldn't be controlled huru is destroyed
1:28:01and paradus along with it I failed you
1:28:04now all that's left is us and a small
1:28:06Bastion on Paradis the azimo begin to
1:28:09mourn I couldn't save your
1:28:12Homeland but I don't want you to seek
1:28:15revenge either so instead I have an
1:28:17offer if you vow to renounce War I will
1:28:20give hizuru the power of the Dragon so
1:28:22this will never happen to your people
1:28:24again masassa begins to pull herself out
1:28:27of the Dragon she's now a bit older and
1:28:29her hair is now much longer than it was
1:28:31so masassa has now come full circle all
1:28:34the way back to her season one here
1:28:35masassa in her full Beauty now says for
1:28:38hiizu I will claim my Birthright as
1:28:40Princess and I will wed one of you
1:28:43recognizing masassa and finally putting
1:28:45to the pieces together about what's
1:28:47happened the aabo bow down and accept
1:28:50her but masasa says do not bow to me I'm
1:28:54not a God I'm just someone with power
1:28:57but if you'll have me I will lead you in
1:29:01spite of his depression Aaron watches
1:29:04masassa closely kiomi Smiles masassa
1:29:07actually fulfilled her promise she
1:29:09returned the dragon to huru but a
1:29:12question lingers kiomi asked masassa are
1:29:15you really okay with this I know how
1:29:17much you'd be giving up by promising to
1:29:19marry someone from huru masasa Smiles
1:29:22lightly and says it's okay
1:29:24I want to know more about who I am we
1:29:27cut to the engineers riding the dragon
1:29:29the baby is handed to kiomi I'm sorry we
1:29:32scour the cliff where the rumbling
1:29:33stopped in case there were more but this
1:29:35is all we could save with your
1:29:37sacrifices she takes the baby a tear
1:29:39Falls from her eye but she smiles as
1:29:42they finally start to reach the small
1:29:44Bastion on Paradis Annie talks to Arman
1:29:47she doesn't know how she'll go on
1:29:48without her dad there's no point in her
1:29:50living but Arman asks why she didn't
1:29:52lose it like this when she first found
1:29:54out her dad was probably dead she
1:29:56doesn't know Arman explains she lost it
1:29:59because of guilt not a lack of bonds
1:30:02even without her dad she had bonds
1:30:04that's why she spared Arman in the
1:30:06female Titan Arc and why she returned on
1:30:08the flying Titan Arman says your guilt
1:30:10will ease and as it does I think you'll
1:30:13realize that you have more bonds to live
1:30:15for than just your dad and in time
1:30:17she'll have even more this dialogue is
1:30:20overlaid as they return home Annie looks
1:30:22over the farm and she sees that hitch is
1:30:26alive similarly Gabby and Falco light up
1:30:30so is the browe family as the dragon
1:30:32Comes Down The Farmhouse stirs with
1:30:34activity Historia still weak and
1:30:36recovering from her birthing pulls
1:30:38herself up and comes out with a few of
1:30:40the remaining jeras at her side they
1:30:42don't understand the monster but they
1:30:43see Aaron on its back and assume he's a
1:30:46prisoner the dragon lands Gabby and
1:30:48Falco all get off and run backwards in
1:30:50the direction of hitch and the browse
1:30:52family while Historia has the agas Point
1:30:54their rifles she says let him go if
1:30:58you're taking him prisoner it won't end
1:31:00with him you'll have to take me too I'm
1:31:02just as guilty after all Aman says
1:31:06Historia you knew about the rumbling
1:31:08you're damn right I'm the same as him I
1:31:11killed billions but you know what I did
1:31:14not birth a slave we all had our reasons
1:31:18the last thing we want is more Bloodshed
1:31:20let him go now Aaron gets up he shows
1:31:24his hands he says it's okay it's okay
1:31:26I'm not a prisoner his story is like oh
1:31:28thank God as her shaky legs start to
1:31:29give out Aaron climbs down and catches
1:31:31her before she falls Aaron tells her
1:31:34it's okay it was thanks to her that he
1:31:36was even able to barter for peace this
1:31:38was the second good historian moment I
1:31:40wrote understandably we haven't gotten
1:31:42much more of the fiery determined
1:31:43Historia despite that being what her
1:31:45character was popularized on but allying
1:31:48herself with Aaron is such a
1:31:49crystallization of her first big
1:31:51characterization that I really want an
1:31:52excuse to like reeling it and to justify
1:31:55her choice to the others regardless of
1:31:56your moral take on it I think a mother
1:31:58standing up against a greater good
1:32:00argument and saying I will literally
1:32:02burn this world down before I sacrific
1:32:04my own child is a cool moment when Aaron
1:32:06said she was the worst girl in the world
1:32:08it implied that she was convinced by
1:32:10that she remembered the lesson she
1:32:11learned in that cave and sought to see
1:32:13this through but I wanted to have a
1:32:15moment similar to Aaron where we see
1:32:17real conviction in that choice meanwhile
1:32:20Gabby and Falco run to the Brouse family
1:32:22to hug them hitch explains Annie that
1:32:24after the cart Titan Attacks flock
1:32:26thought it too dangerous to a people
1:32:28important to Sasha to be in a military
1:32:30base or roaming back home also for this
1:32:32reason uh Nicolo is also here instead he
1:32:35sent word to see if Historia would
1:32:36accept them as Sasha was a close friend
1:32:38and would probably want her family safe
1:32:40hitch ended up escorting them as she was
1:32:42heading back to the interior anyway she
1:32:44arrived just as they got news of the
1:32:46rumbling returning so she ended up
1:32:48staying put after a hug with Mr Brouse
1:32:50Gabby sees Kaa behind him there's a
1:32:52tense moment before Gabby's tears well
1:32:54up she gets on her knees and she screams
1:32:57her apology for Sasha through tears Ka
1:33:00just grabs her and pulls her into a hug
1:33:02I'm so glad you're okay the light of the
1:33:05morning sun illuminates them no longer
1:33:08blocked by what was once the forest
1:33:09behind them now just a plane of fed and
1:33:13burnt out trees from the rumbling in
1:33:15hindsight it's actually kind of baffling
1:33:17we chose to make Gabby and fala's
1:33:19resolution reuniting with their families
1:33:21who we basically don't know I like
1:33:22Annie's Dad bring all their families the
1:33:24final Conflict but for it to actually
1:33:27play out as anticipated is not only kind
1:33:29of boring it's not even that strong in
1:33:31closure we know and Care way more about
1:33:34hitch and the brow family than any of
1:33:36these people it seems like a much more
1:33:38Attack on Titan thing to bring in a
1:33:40bunch of minor characters use them as
1:33:42unexpected meat for the slaughter and
1:33:44then find closure in a different more
1:33:46unexpected location meanwhile more of
1:33:48the jeras come out and point their guns
1:33:50at the alliance out of anger this time
1:33:52thinking it was their fault paradus was
1:33:54destroyed but Aaron having watched
1:33:56macassa takes it on himself and explains
1:33:58I'm sorry the rumbling couldn't be
1:34:00controlled it was only thanks to
1:34:02Historia that even this small patch
1:34:04survived but I failed you I'm sure
1:34:07you've all lost family I'll do whatever
1:34:09I can to make up for it they Grimace in
1:34:11frustration and begin to mourn and now
1:34:14we cut to a week in the future it's
1:34:17night Historia goes to leave the cabin
1:34:19she exchanges short words with Aaron he
1:34:21still seems depressed even as he watches
1:34:24his own baby in the cot he carries a
1:34:27dark look meanwhile yena Armen and Annie
1:34:30are talking in a cabin under Candlelight
1:34:32yena has started to get accounts from
1:34:34people but she comments that things have
1:34:36been shaky tense and it looks like
1:34:38things won't get better before the
1:34:39Expedition into the outside world in a
1:34:41few weeks as they'll be away from Aaron
1:34:43and Historia The Divide is only going to
1:34:46get worse back to Aaron there's a knock
1:34:48at the door it's Jean what are you here
1:34:51for says Aaron Jean said says we still
1:34:55haven't talked yet Johan explains he's
1:34:57given it more thought it won't be good
1:34:59enough just to exist they actively need
1:35:01to get over their issues if there is to
1:35:03be lasting peace Jean wants to spend
1:35:05more time with Aaron and Historia
1:35:07helping with the farm and the orphans so
1:35:09hopefully when they leave on the
1:35:10Expedition everyone's hate will be
1:35:12prevented from stewing amongst
1:35:14themselves even before that hopefully
1:35:16this action will chain into healing the
1:35:17group as a whole Aaron agrees and John
1:35:20leaves but Aaron's light smile just

1:35:39obviously he's depressed considering
1:35:40what he did but Annie isn't so sure she
1:35:43doesn't think Aaron regrets what he did
1:35:46it feels to her more that he's searching
1:35:48for something she thinks Aaron doesn't
1:35:51know if he even cared about anyone or if
1:35:53it was all just an excuse he's searching
1:35:56for something that he's sure would
1:35:57outweigh his own selfish desires he's
1:36:00searching for something greater than
1:36:02himself meanwhile while Historia is
1:36:04outside masassa finds her there's
1:36:07serious tension between them Historia
1:36:09knows masasa has power over her so she's
1:36:11trying to keep an image of strength
1:36:13around her finally masassa speaks I want
1:36:16to form an alliance immediately Historia
1:36:20drops her facade and hugs her together
1:36:22they agree to do everything they can to
1:36:24form a strong bond between hizuru and
1:36:26eldia an alliance that lasts a thousand
1:36:29years says Historia oh please the two of

1:37:05talks but he's explaining it to the
1:37:07eldians so a lot of this narration would
1:37:10kind of seem useless but here it's yena
1:37:12who's documenting from everyone so we
1:37:14can have a much more direct form of Aran
1:37:16being the narrator with a full circle
1:37:18callback to the first line in the series
1:37:21and now at last we come to our final
1:37:23scene it's about a month after returning
1:37:26to Paradis and the Expedition is
1:37:27preparing to leave Jean is commanding
1:37:30the surveyors equipped with odm gear but
1:37:32no blades he tells them to hurry up and
1:37:34the importance of what they're doing
1:37:36they've given massa's nature bombs some
1:37:38time to take root they need to record
1:37:40take specimens and also map out the
1:37:41landscape there's also a lot of unsafe
1:37:44and unstable areas that need to be
1:37:45mapped out as the rumbling has collaps
1:37:47the underground city also fun little
1:37:49East egg because the Titans that rumbled
1:37:51Paradis were spaced apart steam machine
1:37:53colossal Titans paradus isn't totally
1:37:55fled everyone just got cooked and a lot
1:37:58of the structure is actually still
1:37:59remaining also massa's nature bombs have
1:38:02rapidly overgrown the area so paradus
1:38:05looks exactly like how it did in the
1:38:07second ending of the final season boom
1:38:09yes I made this foreshadowing anyway
1:38:12Jean goes to grab something with his
1:38:14right arm but he realizes he doesn't
1:38:16have it Peak comes from behind and
1:38:18replaces his arm with hers yes I like
1:38:20the ship so I have I've given them ing
1:38:23amputations oh how romantic Arman is
1:38:26waiting in the wagon to go he's
1:38:28recording Flora from around the area in
1:38:30a book drawing up the outside world in a
1:38:32way very reminiscent of the book he had
1:38:34as a kit Gabby says goodbye to Cliff
1:38:36baby who's in the current care of yena
1:38:38and on yabon Gabby tells him he won't
1:38:41have to worry about the burn scar on his
1:38:42face the other orphans won't make fun of
1:38:44him after all he'll look just like his
1:38:47cool big sister Aon and Historia stand
1:38:49back as Jean puts out the final call to
1:38:51leave masassa looks at Aaron she thinks
1:38:54back to when Aaron tried to kill her the
1:38:56blade slicing through her hair but not
1:38:58hers through his she tenses up in
1:39:00anticipation gets up and walks to Aaron
1:39:04they seem awkward like it's been a long
1:39:06time since they talk hey before I go I
1:39:11meant to give this back to you she
1:39:13reaches into her pocket and pulls out
1:39:15the scarf Aon has a look of sadness he
1:39:17doesn't want to take it masassa says I
1:39:20realized it was wrong to throw it away a
1:39:23after all it wasn't mine Aon is silent
1:39:26for a moment and then he mumbles
1:39:29something do you hate me masassa looks
1:39:34sad she doesn't answer but after a
1:39:36moment she takes the scarf and wraps it
1:39:39around his neck it's warm isn't it she
1:39:43lightly smiles and goes to leave but
1:39:45after a moment Aaron grabs the scarf
1:39:48pulls it off and runs a few steps and
1:39:50tells her to wait she looks back and
1:39:52Aaron with anguish on his face says do
1:39:54you hate me masassa gives a melancholic
1:39:58but warm
1:39:59smile it doesn't matter your family she
1:40:04goes to join Arman who's been watching
1:40:05the two it's obvious by his expression
1:40:07that while Aaron may have gained his
1:40:09freedom he lost his best friends a lot
1:40:12of people really want to kill characters
1:40:13to try and give the ending a feeling of
1:40:15consequence honestly aon's death is an
1:40:17example of this but there's way more
1:40:19ways to add consequence there are other
1:40:21things you can destroy EG relation ation
1:40:23ships over the course of making this
1:40:25rewrite I actually added a few more
1:40:26deaths than I expected but this was
1:40:28actually the original plan Aaron
1:40:30succeeds and the alliance gets out with
1:40:31minimal sacrifices but their
1:40:33relationships are severed and things
1:40:35will never be the same anyway with this
1:40:38Aaron reaches Peak Depression as he
1:40:40watches them leave MAA starts talking to
1:40:42Arman something about if they can make
1:40:44ice cream with their current resources
1:40:46their voices Fade Into the distance
1:40:48Historia with their baby and toe tries
1:40:51to change the topic she says you know
1:40:54speaking of family she still doesn't
1:40:56have a name Historia says that Aaron
1:40:59wanted to name her but since returning
1:41:00from the rumbling he hasn't been the
1:41:02same Aon says it's okay and Historia can
1:41:06just name her she says oh okay that's
1:41:09easy then and gives Aaron a cheeky smile
1:41:12Emir she's looking to get a rise out of
1:41:14Aaron effectively naming their child
1:41:16after her ex but much to her surprise
1:41:19Erin's expression lifts he looks
1:41:21surprised he thinks and he looks back
1:41:24and forth between her and the baby what
1:41:27Aon explains about Emir how she wanted
1:41:29her dying body to be taken into passs
1:41:31how she wanted to go to this Farm Aaron
1:41:34didn't understand until now but Aaron's
1:41:37expression lights up for the first time
1:41:39in a long time but it's almost one of
1:41:42fanaticism not true happiness our
1:41:46founder imir
1:41:49reincarnated he says as he reaches out
1:41:52to take him her but Historia pulls her
1:41:56away is that what you need for her to be
1:42:00special and immediately it snaps him out
1:42:03of it he looks into the baby's eyes and
1:42:06realizes what a fool he's been he tears
1:42:09up no of course not why should anyone
1:42:14have to be special I don't care if she
1:42:17grows up too great she doesn't need to
1:42:19be better than anyone just look how cute
1:42:22she is
1:42:24she's already
1:42:26special finally Historia sees a genuine
1:42:29smile through his tears she's smiles
1:42:31back and hands her to him Aon Smiles
1:42:35warmly and holds the baby on his
1:42:38shoulder

1:42:45free and this was the final thing I
1:42:47wanted to fix this right here this was
1:42:49officially teased as explicitly the
1:42:52final panel a man holding a baby on his
1:42:54shoulder saying you are free it's
1:42:56probably the most obvious evidence of a
1:42:58significant rcon because not only was it
1:43:00not the final panel but also because it
1:43:02was a flashback a flashback that's
1:43:04meaning could have only been
1:43:06metaphorical and symbolic because it
1:43:07didn't even retroactively change
1:43:09anything about the plot because it's a
1:43:10flashback it also makes no [ __ ] sense
1:43:12for gisha to say this knowing what's
1:43:15outside paradus unless he was just
1:43:17saying this in contrast to how he
1:43:18treated Zeke but then it just seems
1:43:21weirdly self- congratulatory when that
1:43:23should have been something he's like
1:43:24guilty over this panel was actually
1:43:26speculated for a long time as eron's
1:43:27baby in the truly free world he's been
1:43:30fighting for surpassing his father and
1:43:32removing the children from the forest as
1:43:34was the themes making it perfectly
1:43:36symbolic for a final panel that brings
1:43:37closure to the series as well as having
1:43:39a genuine plot relevance to speculate
1:43:41over as a teased final panel because it
1:43:43answers a current established mystery
1:43:45plot line in history's pregnancy
1:43:47honestly a decent chunk of the broad
1:43:49Strokes of this reide I wouldn't even
1:43:51say is really my
1:43:53I honestly more feel like I'm retracing
1:43:55the steps of the original ending and
1:43:56even if I'm not I'm still copying
1:43:58popular fan Theory so I can't take full
1:44:00credit however when we get into the
1:44:02minutia there's a few things I add as
1:44:04well as the connective tissue that ties
1:44:06it all together I was one of the people
1:44:08who's been on the Historia and eron
1:44:09twist soon after the pregnancy plot line
1:44:11was started and I think I also came up
1:44:14with or at least I I I thought of at the
1:44:17same time the Historia calling the child
1:44:20imir uh but like of course other people
1:44:22were coming out that as well but but the
1:44:24one thing I can truly say I can take
1:44:27credit for that I'm pretty sure is
1:44:28totally original is this the big theory
1:44:32is that this baby is actually
1:44:33reincarnated inir and originally I had
1:44:35eron just realize that at the end but
1:44:37not only did that lack a lot of the
1:44:38emotional punch I wondered from a final
1:44:40line but something about it just felt
1:44:42wrong why should it matter that emo has
1:44:46been reincarnated hasn't one of the
1:44:48major themes of the story being that
1:44:50every child is precious just for being
1:44:52born and so I took my own Assumption of
1:44:54what the ending should be and I made it
1:44:56the wrong way of looking at it with
1:44:58Aaron over the course of his journey
1:45:00learning A Dark Truth about himself that
1:45:02makes it so he falls into the Trap of
1:45:04needing this baby to be something just
1:45:06like his father before him and with it
1:45:09here's our last Historia moment she's
1:45:11the one who pulls him out of it and when
1:45:12I realized that it could immediately
1:45:15resonate with Aaron because he would
1:45:16remember his mother's words to him and
1:45:18then when I realized he could through
1:45:20tears repeat those words back to his own
1:45:23baby dude I
1:45:26cried God I was like yep that's it
1:45:29that's how we end it oh man I hope youve
1:45:32enjoyed this rewrite this has been my
1:45:34passion project for a while now I really
1:45:36wanted to do a rewrite with a crazy
1:45:37amount of more effort put into it
1:45:39especially now that the algorithm has
1:45:40significantly changed to reward me for
1:45:43higher quality videos if this goes well
1:45:45this will be my standard for rewrites in
1:45:47fact I think I'm going to go back and
1:45:48redo most of them especially with me
1:45:50having now a like bunch more new writing
1:45:52theories that I want to uh properly
1:45:55Implement also I'm sorry if you watched
1:45:57this liked it and now going to go watch
1:45:59the Game of Thrones one next I feel like
1:46:01that's a totally different style of this
1:46:03I already wanted to go back and aim for
1:46:04a proper bittersweet ending for that one
1:46:06but now I want to aim for like the super
1:46:08detail plot logic and consistency I
1:46:11recently started picking up from sort of
1:46:13the EAP crew and my own growing
1:46:15understanding of the plot whole stuff I
1:46:17covered in my last video so uh that Game
1:46:20of Thrones one I might have to break it
1:46:22up the season starting from
1:46:255 oh boy hopefully that won't take that
1:46:27long if it makes you feel better the
1:46:29delays on videos aren't actually because
1:46:31of the videos I'm just depressed a lot
1:46:33and I wake up sometimes and life feels
1:46:35meaningless even though nothing has
1:46:36changed I also started getting really
1:46:38bad insomnia the last few years but I've
1:46:39actually started to really work out
1:46:41what's triggering it and it seems to
1:46:42actually all be connected so uh that's
1:46:45good my good days are getting like
1:46:47closer and closer together and I have
1:46:49less and less bad days for both sleep
1:46:51and mood so I think I'm I'm really
1:46:53narrowing it down now so uh sorry that's
1:46:56why I keep dropping off the face of the
1:46:58Earth hopefully it'll be better now
