  1. 0:01ABBY LEE MILLER (VOICEOVER): Previously on "Dance Moms."
  2. 0:02We will be attending In10sity Dance in Fort Lauderdale,
  3. 0:05Florida.
  4. 0:06Replace us, that's fine.
  5. 0:07Chloe is suspended.
  6. 0:08So is her mother.
  7. 0:10When I left, there was tension between Melissa and Abby.
  8. 0:13At the top of the pyramid, Maddie.
  9. 0:15And it's like I came back and everything is back to normal.
  10. 0:18Your highest scoring junior soloist, Maddie.
  11. 0:20[cheering]
  12. 0:22What happened there?
  13. 0:23A real friend would have picked up a phone.
  14. 0:25[bleep] you.
  15. 0:26[bleep] you.
  16. 0:27ABBY LEE MILLER (VOICEOVER): Coming up on "Dance Moms."
  17. 0:30Everywhere I look, there's memories of Baby,
  18. 0:33and I don't know if I want to leave you alone.
  19. 0:34We were just wondering if you heard from Abby or anything.
  20. 0:37No.
  21. 0:38Screwing with my choreography is very offensive.
  22. 0:42You were kicked out because she wasn't good enough.
  23. 0:45No, bitch, I left.
  24. 0:46You ran back over to that studio,
  25. 0:48and I see why they don't want you back,
  26. 0:49because your kid sucks.
  27. 0:52[MUSIC - NIKKO LOWE, "LIVING ON THE DANCE FLOOR"]
  28. 0:54(SINGING) Get up.
  29. 0:55Get on the floor.
  30. 0:57My world is with my girls living on the dance floor.
  31. 1:04[music continuing]
  32. 1:20Isn't there something that says
  33. 1:21if a teacher doesn't come within so many minutes, you can leave?
  34. 1:24We all walk into the studio for rehearsals today
  35. 1:27and everyone's like, oh, where's Abby?
  36. 1:28Where's Abby?
  37. 1:29And I'm all like, who the hell cares?
  38. 1:31Party.
  39. 1:35Hey, girls.
  40. 1:37OK.
  41. 1:39This is going to be a rough week for me.
  42. 1:41Broadway Baby passed away.
  43. 1:49She was lethargic and I knew something was wrong,
  44. 1:52but I just thought that she had eaten something that
  45. 1:55didn't agree with her and she was just kind of down and out.
  46. 1:58But it ended up being kidney failure.
  47. 2:02I mean, I know she's 16, but she's your kid.
  48. 2:05It's like your kid.
  49. 2:06It's hard.
  50. 2:07I mean, we--
  51. 2:08it's hard.
  52. 2:09I've never seen Abby look so sad.
  53. 2:10I mean, Baby really was her baby.
  54. 2:13And even though Abby and I clearly don't get along,
  55. 2:15I wouldn't wish this on her in a million years.
  56. 2:17I'm here.
  57. 2:18We need to get ready.
  58. 2:20We are going to St. Louis to Dance Expressions.
  59. 2:24It's a huge competition.
  60. 2:26I don't want to be here right now.
  61. 2:27I don't want to talk about it.
  62. 2:28I don't want to look at these kids, but this is what I do.
  63. 2:32So I put my game face on.
  64. 2:34I came back.
  65. 2:35I'm here.
  66. 2:36I need to get these kids ready for St. Louis.
  67. 2:39On the bottom, we have Paige.
  68. 2:42Paige, the reason you're on the bottom is the duet.
  69. 2:48We, all of us in this room, need to be confident in you,
  70. 2:52in your performance.
  71. 2:53Next on the pyramid is Brooke.
  72. 2:57Brooke, for you to get in the top five was good.
  73. 3:02For you not to win was bad.
  74. 3:04The fact that both of my kids are
  75. 3:05at the bottom of the pyramid makes
  76. 3:07me wonder if it's personal.
  77. 3:08Like is it because Abby doesn't like me?
  78. 3:10And next, Mackenzie.
  79. 3:14I thought for you to be doing the same choreography
  80. 3:17as a 14-year-old was great.
  81. 3:19Moving up.
  82. 3:20Next on the pyramid is Kendall.
  83. 3:23Kendall, I think you're good at evil.
  84. 3:25I thought you looked really good in the costume
  85. 3:27and I thought you went out there and you sold it.
  86. 3:30And next we have Nia.
  87. 3:33Nia, you're here because, again, your facial expressions, you
  88. 3:38told the story.
  89. 3:39And at the top of the pyramid once again, Maddie.
  90. 3:44You went out on that stage, you danced for your life,
  91. 3:48and you won.
  92. 3:49You stayed on top of this pyramid for another week.
  93. 3:51I'm so relieved that Maddie is back to being on top week
  94. 3:54after week.
  95. 3:55And I'm so glad that Abby has given
  96. 3:57her this opportunity again, and it's
  97. 3:59given her a lot of confidence.
  98. 4:00Chloe, just to make things perfectly clear,
  99. 4:03you are still on suspension.
  100. 4:05Understood?
  101. 4:06Moving on, the group routine, which Mackenzie is not in,
  102. 4:11it is called "My Dream Will Be Your Dream."
  103. 4:14Has a ton of ballet technique in it.
  104. 4:16So this story is going to be an epic love story.
  105. 4:20It's going to be beautiful and it's going to be entertaining.
  106. 4:24I think this piece, being this big, epic love story,
  107. 4:28is going to help me remember Baby.
  108. 4:30Anytime I walk into the studio, it's an escape.
  109. 4:34Helps me keep my mind off of other things.
  110. 4:36Now moms, I've taken care of the costumes.
  111. 4:39The headpieces are being made.
  112. 4:41Everything is ready to go.
  113. 4:44Now, we have some solos.
  114. 4:46Nia, you're going to be doing a solo.
  115. 4:49The name of your music is "Breaking My Heart."
  116. 4:51I'm really excited Nia has a solo.
  117. 4:54I just hope that she can take away some of Abby's grief
  118. 4:56and not add to it.
  119. 4:57Maddie, you're also going to have a solo.
  120. 5:00The name of your routine is "Showing You My Heart."
  121. 5:04Just one more thing I want to remind you of.
  122. 5:06St. Louis the home of Black Patsy.
  123. 5:10So Maddie and Nia, you're going to be going head to head
  124. 5:13with Nicaya.
  125. 5:14Black Patsy is this crazy mom who actually
  126. 5:17makes us call her Black Patsy.
  127. 5:19So what would you like us to call you?
  128. 5:21Black Patsy.
  129. 5:22You know who Patsy Ramsey is?
  130. 5:23JILL: Yeah.
  131. 5:24Crazy stage mom?
  132. 5:25JILL: That's you.
  133. 5:26Her daughter danced for the ALDC
  134. 5:28and they did not like us, to say the least.
  135. 5:31You want to watch your mouth because I ain't the rest
  136. 5:33of these dance moms. 'Cause I'm not a doctor like Holly.
  137. 5:35I'm from the hood.
  138. 5:37Believe that.
  139. 5:39Moms, I am begging you, no chaos.
  140. 5:43I have been through the ringer and back
  141. 5:47with this whole dog situation.
  142. 5:49I want a simple, easy weekend, okey doke?
  143. 5:53All right, I'm going to dismiss you know.
  144. 5:55Girls, spread apart and let's start our warm-up, please.
  145. 6:01Think of grandeur.
  146. 6:03Think of being in a ballroom at a black tie event
  147. 6:06with a beautiful, handsome man in a tuxedo.
  148. 6:09This is an epic love story.
  149. 6:12It's about a peasant girl who is sick
  150. 6:14and she's afraid that the illness is going
  151. 6:17to take her life and she'll be separated from the man she
  152. 6:19loves.
  153. 6:24I thought I was ready to be back.
  154. 6:26I thought I was stronger than this, but obviously I'm not.
  155. 6:29I want to go home.
  156. 6:31I want to be with my mom, and I want to be sad.
  157. 6:36I'm going to excuse myself.
  158. 6:41Work on that part, Maddie.
  159. 6:43Count it out.
  160. 6:44Abby is taking this mourning a little bit to the extreme.
  161. 6:47This is a dog.
  162. 6:51She just left us hanging.
  163. 6:53Well, I'm sure she's very sad.
  164. 6:55I know she is, Melissa, but life still goes on.
  165. 6:58Maybe the girls can make a big card for her.
  166. 7:00Maybe dedicate the dance to her.
  167. 7:03We could dedicate it to Baby.
  168. 7:05The girls would love that.
  169. 7:06I know it sounds crazy to change the group dance
  170. 7:08and pick a new song, but Abby's very vulnerable right now.
  171. 7:12And you rarely see that in her, so I
  172. 7:15want her to know that the moms are there for her.
  173. 7:17Here, listen.
  174. 7:18[music playing]
  175. 7:22It's kind of jazzy.
  176. 7:23We can do that.
  177. 7:25Jill plays us a song on her phone called "Beautiful Day,"
  178. 7:27and I really do love it.
  179. 7:29And I think it's a really good idea for the moms
  180. 7:31to express to Abby how sorry we are for her loss.
  181. 7:34I just don't think it's a good idea of changing Abby's routine
  182. 7:39or the music.
  183. 7:41Oh, I like it.
  184. 7:43I like it, too.
  185. 7:44Yeah, but I think that we do what Abby said.
  186. 7:46We're going to get in a lot of trouble.
  187. 7:48We are going to get in a lot of trouble.
  188. 7:49I don't know.
  189. 7:50I think Abby will really appreciate it.
  190. 7:51When's the last time Abby appreciated anything?
  191. 7:53I can't imagine Abby being OK with us changing her group
  192. 7:55dance direction, but at the same time,
  193. 7:57if she appreciates the tribute, I
  194. 7:59don't want all the girls to be involved except for Chloe.
  195. 8:01So fingers crossed that I don't get suspended again.
  196. 8:05OK, so we've got how many options?
  197. 8:06JILL: Three.
  198. 8:07I don't know if this actually goes with that music.
  199. 8:10We decided to go with a new song choice for the dedication
  200. 8:13for "Broadway Baby," and with that means new costuming.
  201. 8:17So we're going to have to come up with that.
  202. 8:19God help us all.
  203. 8:20I don't know, is this what we're supposed to be wearing?
  204. 8:22Who knows?
  205. 8:23It is now.
  206. 8:26So you want to think very southern, very bluesy,
  207. 8:31like that kind of a feel.
  208. 8:33I still can't believe you and Christi aren't talking.
  209. 8:35I did nothing wrong.
  210. 8:38But I was having a really bad week and a real friend
  211. 8:40have picked up a phone and call me.
  212. 8:42But if you can't answer my phone calls, then [bleep] you.
  213. 8:45[bleep] you.
  214. 8:46How long has it been now?
  215. 8:47You're like on the third week I think.
  216. 8:49Yeah.
  217. 8:50Christi and Abby got into a huge fight
  218. 8:51a couple weeks ago over Chloe dropping her hat,
  219. 8:54and then Christi got suspended.
  220. 8:56And I tried reaching out to her and I
  221. 8:58haven't talked to her since.
  222. 8:59I thought our friendship meant more than that.
  223. 9:02I really hope that you are able to talk
  224. 9:04about it this week.
  225. 9:05Pisses me off.
  226. 9:06Things are already pretty chaotic.
  227. 9:08The last thing we need is Christi and Kelly fighting.
  228. 9:12[music continuing]
  229. 9:29She was so cute and never hurt anybody.
  230. 9:33She made everybody smile.
  231. 9:37And what if something was wrong and I could have done something
  232. 9:40about it?
  233. 9:41I think maybe it was her time to go.
  234. 9:45I mean, she got sick in a day.
  235. 9:48It was that quick.
  236. 9:49I know.
  237. 9:51She kept me sane.
  238. 9:52She made everything OK.
  239. 9:56When I would come home from work upset or distraught
  240. 10:00over the mothers, or you just have a rough day at work
  241. 10:02and you come home, and they kiss you and they like you
  242. 10:06and then you're just--
  243. 10:11I wasn't here when she needed me.
  244. 10:13I was with somebody else's kids.
  245. 10:21[music playing]
  246. 10:26Hm.
  247. 10:27OK.
  248. 10:29That's kind of strange.
  249. 10:31OK, keep going.
  250. 10:32I am worried that Abby's not here.
  251. 10:34I mean, this is her studio and we need her here.
  252. 10:38God.
  253. 10:39She's a no show again.
  254. 10:41I understand Abby's still grieving,
  255. 10:43but we need her right now.
  256. 10:45We changed the group dance and song to a tribute
  257. 10:48for Broadway Baby, and on top of that,
  258. 10:51Black Patsy is going to be there.
  259. 10:52The last thing we need right now is to lose.
  260. 10:56Hello. It's so quiet out there.
  261. 10:57I know.
  262. 10:58You can hear a pin drop.
  263. 10:59Do dogs go to heaven?
  264. 11:01Yeah.
  265. 11:01Doggie heaven.
  266. 11:02Dogs totally going to heaven.
  267. 11:04Abby's probably hoping she goes to hell because that's
  268. 11:06where Abby is going to be.
  269. 11:08[laughs]
  270. 11:14What are you going to do?
  271. 11:15Everywhere I look, there's memories of Baby, everywhere.
  272. 11:20And I don't know if I want to leave you alone.
  273. 11:22That scares me.
  274. 11:24I think losing Baby so suddenly was a wake up call for me.
  275. 11:28My mom is all I have left.
  276. 11:30And if something happened to her while I
  277. 11:32was on the road with these kids, I would never forgive myself.
  278. 11:36Well, you have to go back to the studio and teach the kids.
  279. 11:39I mean, all those kids you have.
  280. 11:40I know, but they're so unappreciative.
  281. 11:42No, they're not.
  282. 11:43Yes, they are.
  283. 11:44They roll their eyes and they're all bratty,
  284. 11:47and my Baby never did that.
  285. 11:49I don't know if I can go back to the team or back to the studio
  286. 11:52even.
  287. 11:59I'm very sorry--
  288. 12:01Oh, look how nice.
  289. 12:03I know you--
  290. 12:04That looks really good.
  291. 12:05The girls made a card for Abby all on their own,
  292. 12:08and I think it was great that they wanted to show her
  293. 12:10how much they care.
  294. 12:11When I was in my private, Miss Abby
  295. 12:13was telling me that she was in such pain and stuff.
  296. 12:19Like she would carry her like a baby,
  297. 12:21and Baby kept throwing her head back.
  298. 12:23I've never seen Miss Abby so sad before,
  299. 12:25and she's been crying every day.
  300. 12:28So I think that this card will hopefully cheer her up.
  301. 12:32[music playing]
  302. 12:33Fabulous.
  303. 12:364, 5.
  304. 12:37Here we go.
  305. 12:38And 1, 2, 3.
  306. 12:41Watch those arms.
  307. 12:42So--
  308. 12:44We have Niyala again?
  309. 12:46Yeah, Abby's not here.
  310. 12:47Obviously, she has taken this mourning thing to extreme.
  311. 12:52Does anybody want to come down with me
  312. 12:54and find out Niyala knows anything about Abby?
  313. 12:57No.
  314. 12:58OK, we'll be back.
  315. 12:59We'll let you know what we find out.
  316. 13:00It's funny that Christi's still mad at me.
  317. 13:02I mean, Abby's dog died.
  318. 13:04We have no idea if she's coming to the competition.
  319. 13:06And she would rather be pouting and be mad at me
  320. 13:10than to go down and find out what's going on.
  321. 13:12NIYALA: Pull in.
  322. 13:13Second.
  323. 13:14Second.
  324. 13:15Sorry to interrupt.
  325. 13:17We try not to barge in or anything.
  326. 13:19We were just wondering if you've heard from Abby or anything?
  327. 13:23Not at all?
  328. 13:25Do you know if she'll be back before the competition?
  329. 13:27No.
  330. 13:29Oh god, we're screwed.
  331. 13:30[music continuing]
  332. 13:36Now, 1, up.
  333. 13:37[MUSIC - ELAINE FAYE, "GET BACK UP"]
  334. 13:38(SINGING) I woke up late for work today.
  335. 13:40Alarm must have passed away.
  336. 13:42Up, up.
  337. 13:43Down.
  338. 13:44Roll.
  339. 13:45Nicaya's doing a jazz solo to a song called "Get Back Up."
  340. 13:48It's about someone who's struggling and can't pay bills,
  341. 13:52just kind of being down and out and trying to figure out a way
  342. 13:55to come out of it.
  343. 13:57What I want to see in your solo is angst.
  344. 13:59You know, sad, struggle.
  345. 14:01This is hard.
  346. 14:02Don't dance like some rich kid from Pittsburgh.
  347. 14:05Try again.
  348. 14:06Go
  349. 14:07I feel like I have something to prove
  350. 14:08to Abby and those moms.
  351. 14:10There it is.
  352. 14:11They want to see me fail just to shut me up.
  353. 14:13I am so excited about meeting up with them again 'cause I got
  354. 14:16a lot I want to say to them.
  355. 14:18You got to point those feet, right?
  356. 14:20We can't give them any reason to question your technique.
  357. 14:23Let's go from the turn.
  358. 14:25Abby's big about those legs and feet,
  359. 14:26even though she can't see her own.
  360. 14:28[laughs]
  361. 14:31I think Abby thinks that people are intimidated or kind
  362. 14:33of jealous of her.
  363. 14:34Really, just trash with a title.
  364. 14:36I have no respect for her.
  365. 14:37So I want to just give her a piece of my mind.
  366. 14:39She's not better than me.
  367. 14:42[music continuing]
  368. 14:43NIYALA: Straighten that back knee.
  369. 14:511.
  370. 14:52Straight that bottom knee. Straighten it.
  371. 14:53Up. Up.
  372. 14:55Up.
  373. 14:55Good.
  374. 14:56I really like Nia's solo this week.
  375. 14:58The only thing is she's dancing with a hat,
  376. 15:01and that always makes me nervous because if you drop
  377. 15:03a hat on stage, Abby gets really upset.
  378. 15:05OK.
  379. 15:06You're going to put that hat on your head.
  380. 15:07You got to put it on your head so it doesn't fall off.
  381. 15:09I hope Nia doesn't wear that hat because I already lost
  382. 15:12one friendship over that hat.
  383. 15:14I don't want to lose another one.
  384. 15:16Kelly, you didn't lose a friendship over a hat.
  385. 15:17You lost a friendship because you
  386. 15:19tole me to go [bleep] myself.
  387. 15:20You admitted I called you the one time.
  388. 15:22You called me once.
  389. 15:23OK, well, why didn't you call me back?
  390. 15:24- You called me Friday. - Why didn't you call me back?
  391. 15:26Because you were on the bus with Abby.
  392. 15:27So what if I'm on the bus with Abby?
  393. 15:28Having a bad week.
  394. 15:30When you have a bad week, my god, I practically
  395. 15:32rock you, like are you OK?
  396. 15:34Just like I'm there for you guys all the time.
  397. 15:36- Yeah. - Yeah.
  398. 15:37Remember when I sat in the car for you, who was the biggest
  399. 15:39advocate to get you back on the team?
  400. 15:40Me. - I know that.
  401. 15:41That's why I was your biggest advocate when we were
  402. 15:43in the pyramid and stuff. - And you didn't even call me.
  403. 15:45I've always thought Kelly was my best friend,
  404. 15:46but I've seen her true colors.
  405. 15:48You know, if she's in need, she's a great friend,
  406. 15:51but if it's someone else, she could care less.
  407. 15:53And I don't know if I could forgive her for that.
  408. 15:55Whatever, Christi.
  409. 15:56I'm not going to sit here and fight with you about it.
  410. 15:57- OK. - It's not worth it.
  411. 15:59Clearly, our friendship isn't worth it.
  412. 16:01Clearly.
  413. 16:03At least now I know where I stand with you.
  414. 16:12I brought a donut for myself to eat.
  415. 16:14I want a donut.
  416. 16:21It was tough walking back into the studio, but I did it.
  417. 16:24Broadway Baby loved it here.
  418. 16:26She loved the kids, and I think she would
  419. 16:28have wanted me to be here.
  420. 16:31Hey, babe, how are you doing?
  421. 16:32Hi.
  422. 16:33Hi.
  423. 16:34How are you?
  424. 16:34Good.
  425. 16:35Hey, babe.
  426. 16:36Nothing makes me happier than working with Maddie,
  427. 16:39so I'm going to start with her solo.
  428. 16:42All right, Maddie, this is called "Showing You My Heart."
  429. 16:45Let's see what you have, all right?
  430. 16:48So you're still not going to talk to me?
  431. 16:50I tried to talk to you.
  432. 16:51You didn't answer your phone call.
  433. 16:57I don't even know what to say to her.
  434. 16:59Pretend I'm not even here, and I think that's the only way
  435. 17:01that it's going to work.
  436. 17:05[music playing]
  437. 17:06(SINGING) I'm showing you my heart.
  438. 17:07ABBY LEE MILLER: Hit it.
  439. 17:10Can't let that drop.
  440. 17:11You need to whack it.
  441. 17:14Christi was saying you guys were talking.
  442. 17:17It sounded like she's reaching out.
  443. 17:19She's mad because I'm not kissing her ass.
  444. 17:21What?
  445. 17:22At this point, I don't know if we can get past this.
  446. 17:24I mean, Christi acts like everything is about her.
  447. 17:27And it's not your world, Christi.
  448. 17:29Get over it.
  449. 17:30This up, up, down, down has to be bigger.
  450. 17:33You kind of just slumped through it.
  451. 17:34Give me a big, big, in, in.
  452. 17:38I'm nervous about Nia's solo this week.
  453. 17:40Abby has barely spent any time with her,
  454. 17:42and she's in direct competition from Nicaya.
  455. 17:44That's a lot of pressure for any kid.
  456. 17:47Ready, guys?
  457. 17:48I want to see that number, all right?
  458. 17:50This is their tribute dance, except Abby doesn't know it.
  459. 17:53No, and I wonder how she's going to react.
  460. 17:56All right, let's hear the music.
  461. 17:57[music - elize, "beautiful day"]
  462. 17:59(SINGING) Na-na na-na ay. na-na na-na ay.
  463. 18:00Do it.
  464. 18:01Look, look, look.
  465. 18:03She's finding out that it's not the music.
  466. 18:05That's not a look of pleasure or happiness.
  467. 18:07Whoa.
  468. 18:08This isn't the music.
  469. 18:10The girls wanted to do a tribute to you for Baby.
  470. 18:13They wanted to surprise you with this dance and the music.
  471. 18:18The girls or their mothers?
  472. 18:22JANEANE: Both of them.
  473. 18:24All right, that's not what I want.
  474. 18:28This is a beautiful number, not a pop song.
  475. 18:31If you want to be nice and do something out
  476. 18:33of the kindness of your heart, how about honoring my wishes?
  477. 18:36Janeane, you have to remember, the mothers know nothing.
  478. 18:39OK.
  479. 18:41You can't let them bulldoze over you.
  480. 18:43You need to stand your ground.
  481. 18:45She's changing everything.
  482. 18:46It's like everything we did this week, she's changing.
  483. 18:50Obviously, Abby doesn't want to do any work.
  484. 18:53She just wanted to come back, and she's still
  485. 18:54grieving, which I understand.
  486. 18:56OK, moms, come on down.
  487. 18:58Going behind my back, changing my music,
  488. 19:01changing the choreography, and now dumping this big, hot mess
  489. 19:03in my lap, what these moms are doing is not OK with me.
  490. 19:07Moms, it's been explained to me by the girls
  491. 19:10that this was your idea and this was your choreography.
  492. 19:15I'm being told that costumes I left that were ready,
  493. 19:17the headpieces that I had made that are all ready,
  494. 19:20and all my ducks in a row were blatantly disregarded.
  495. 19:23We just thought, since you were absent,
  496. 19:24we would step up and take charge.
  497. 19:27Screwing with my choreography and my choice of music
  498. 19:30and my costumes and my headpiece is very offensive.
  499. 19:34We all came up with some ideas for costumes.
  500. 19:36No, I don't want any more of your ideas.
  501. 19:38My kids are not going to that competition with some Bahama
  502. 19:42music in white bridal dresses.
  503. 19:44It's too bad that Abby can't see the beauty of what we're
  504. 19:47trying to do for her.
  505. 19:49And the cash.
  506. 19:50OK, you know what we're not doing?
  507. 19:53This number.
  508. 19:54We're going to use the music they want to use
  509. 19:56and the kids are going to improv.
  510. 19:57Since your mothers know best, you're going to improv.
  511. 20:01Hit Play.
  512. 20:02[music - elize, "beautiful day"]
  513. 20:03(SINGING) Na-na na-na ay.
  514. 20:04Na-na na-na ay.
  515. 20:06There's no way they're doing this.
  516. 20:08It's almost like Abby's doing improv
  517. 20:10because she wants to prove to us moms don't change her music.
  518. 20:15[laughs]
  519. 20:16I though the other one was better.
  520. 20:18Miss Abby had us do this like big improv section.
  521. 20:21It was definitely something unusual.
  522. 20:26Whoo.
  523. 20:29I have a big, hot mess on my hands.
  524. 20:30They need you to really work on the choreography
  525. 20:32that I left them.
  526. 20:33That didn't happen.
  527. 20:34All right, it does not look like we
  528. 20:35are ready to compete tomorrow.
  529. 20:41[music playing]
  530. 20:47We're here in St. Louis attending Dance Expressions
  531. 20:50Competition.
  532. 20:52Come on, girls, let's go.
  533. 20:54[cheering]
  534. 20:57Dance Expressions is a big competition in the Midwest.
  535. 21:01I'm going to have the girls improvise
  536. 21:04during the competition, and frankly, we are not ready.
  537. 21:10Well, hello.
  538. 21:11Hello.
  539. 21:12I knew it was St. Louis.
  540. 21:13I knew you'd be here.
  541. 21:14You had to expect that I would be here.
  542. 21:16This is my hometown.
  543. 21:19I'm so glad to see the bougie moms here in St. Louis is
  544. 21:21in my "hood" now.
  545. 21:23We've got Dr. Holly in the hood now.
  546. 21:25Hi, Dr. Holly.
  547. 21:27Hi, how are you?
  548. 21:29It's just too early in the day for all this.
  549. 21:31Don't be so quick to run.
  550. 21:32We'll be here all day.
  551. 21:33Dr. Holly, don't let me forget that 'cause she
  552. 21:35earned that title.
  553. 21:36She's so educated.
  554. 21:37Those letters don't mean a damn thing
  555. 21:39if you ain't doing nothing with it.
  556. 21:40Come girls.
  557. 21:41Break a leg, girls.
  558. 21:42Good luck.
  559. 21:43We don't need luck.
  560. 21:44You might.
  561. 21:46Sometimes competition days are filled with excitement and joy.
  562. 21:50Right here.
  563. 21:52This is not one of those competition days.
  564. 21:54Whoo.
  565. 21:55I'm worried about the group dance,
  566. 21:56and I'm also worried about the solo.
  567. 22:00Nia, come on out, honey.
  568. 22:01Let me see you in that.
  569. 22:03Ooh.
  570. 22:05I threw together a costume with very little guidance
  571. 22:08from Abby.
  572. 22:09Yeah, we need to take that off and see what else we have.
  573. 22:12HOLLY: I just tried to do my best,
  574. 22:13considering I was told to figure it out on my own.
  575. 22:15You have shorts cutting your legs,
  576. 22:17making your thighs horizontal.
  577. 22:19You have a waistband cutting your waist,
  578. 22:20making it horizontal.
  579. 22:22You want to draw your eyes up to your face.
  580. 22:23Holly, that looks really good.
  581. 22:25Thank you for appreciating it.
  582. 22:27Abby did not.
  583. 22:28Holly, do what you want.
  584. 22:30No, I'm taking it off.
  585. 22:31No, leave it on.
  586. 22:33If Holly wants to send her kid out on stage looking like that,
  587. 22:37be my guest.
  588. 22:37Come on, girls.
  589. 22:38If you're coming, let's go.
  590. 22:40[applause]
  591. 22:43As we're getting closer to Nia's solo,
  592. 22:45I'm worried if Nia has the confidence to dance on stage
  593. 22:49and dance well.
  594. 22:51ANNOUNCER: Up next is Nia, performing "Breaking My Heart."
  595. 22:54[applause]
  596. 22:58[MUSIC - CUT ONE, "BREAKIN' MY HEART"]
  597. 23:02(SINGING) You lead me down to the river.
  598. 23:06I watched it all begin to flow.
  599. 23:10I can't look back.
  600. 23:12I know that there's nowhere to go.
  601. 23:17Mm.
  602. 23:18You always treat me like an enemy.
  603. 23:21I've tried so hard to make you see that you can't keep
  604. 23:28breaking my heart, heart, baby.
  605. 23:30Yeah, you can't keep breaking my heart.
  606. 23:34No, you can't keep breaking my heart, baby.
  607. 23:38Oh, you can't keep breaking my, breaking my, breaking my heart.
  608. 23:45[applause]
  609. 23:51Nia's performance was great.
  610. 23:52She's doing her absolute best.
  611. 23:54There's nothing more I could ask of her to do.
  612. 23:58I'm not at all threatened by Abby Lee and her dance company.
  613. 24:01I just feel like they need to see some real competition.
  614. 24:02They're on my turf now, so they can see how we do things
  615. 24:05in the Midwest in St. Louis.
  616. 24:09ANNOUNCER: Coming on stage now is Nicaya with "Get Back Up."
  617. 24:12[cheering]
  618. 24:14Whoo.
  619. 24:15Diva 'tude.
  620. 24:17[MUSIC - ELAINE FAYE, "GET BACK UP"]
  621. 24:18(SINGING) I woke up late for work today.
  622. 24:21Alarm must have passed away.
  623. 24:22Either way I must say it's making for a bad, yeah.
  624. 24:26But it's hard when you're on luck.
  625. 24:28It's bringing me down.
  626. 24:30It's bringing me down.
  627. 24:32I need to get back up.
  628. 24:34I need to get back up.
  629. 24:37Right now.
  630. 24:38Right now, right now I'm finding it
  631. 24:44difficult to stand tall, back straight and hold my ground.
  632. 24:50I walk to the bus 'cause I can't afford a car.
  633. 24:53And the last couple blocks I walk and explore.
  634. 24:56Yeah.
  635. 24:57It's bringing me down.
  636. 24:59I need to get back up.
  637. 25:02I need to get back up.
  638. 25:05Right now.
  639. 25:08[applause]
  640. 25:13After seeing Nicaya perform on stage, I mean,
  641. 25:17if I was judging, I would say that Nicaya has regressed.
  642. 25:22ANNOUNCER: Up next on stage is Madison
  643. 25:24with "Showing You My Heart."
  644. 25:26[applause]
  645. 25:31[music playing]
  646. 25:36(SINGING) And showing you, asking you to love me
  647. 26:02all you see in me is to is he
  648. 26:25[applause]
  649. 26:33ANNOUNCER: Maddie would like everyone
  650. 26:34to know that her performance was dedicated to Broadway Baby.
  651. 26:40I had Maddie dedicate her solo to Baby because, you know,
  652. 26:45Abby and I are friends.
  653. 26:46I've babysat her dog several times,
  654. 26:48and I just thought it was the right thing to do.
  655. 26:56Really, Melissa?
  656. 26:57Like do you have to make everything about your kids?
  657. 27:01This was supposed to be something the whole group was
  658. 27:03doing.
  659. 27:13[music playing]
  660. 27:14[sighs]
  661. 27:16Oh my gosh.
  662. 27:17Like always a treat.
  663. 27:18Thank you so much for the dedication.
  664. 27:21I appreciate that announcement after Maddie's dance.
  665. 27:24Maddie's solo is exactly as I intended it to be--
  666. 27:30uplifting.
  667. 27:31It makes you feel good.
  668. 27:33And that is a tribute to Baby.
  669. 27:35Well, can I show you something?
  670. 27:39Oh, where did you get that?
  671. 27:42Dance for me.
  672. 27:43That was last week.
  673. 27:44I miss her so much.
  674. 27:45MELISSA: I know.
  675. 27:45She was my whole world.
  676. 27:47Imagine if you lost one of your kids.
  677. 27:48MELISSA: I would die.
  678. 27:50And she made everybody smile. MELISSA: I know.
  679. 27:52She never rolled her eyes at me.
  680. 27:53She didn't need braces. - I know.
  681. 27:54And when I said dance, she danced.
  682. 27:56I know.
  683. 27:57She made everybody smile.
  684. 27:59And Maddie, when she dances on stage, everybody smiles.
  685. 28:04I saw Abby crying.
  686. 28:06She didn't want the tribute from the whole group.
  687. 28:07She wanted nothing about it.
  688. 28:09When it's from Maddie, she cries.
  689. 28:12The whole point of having a tribute dance
  690. 28:14was that all the girls wanted to tribute something
  691. 28:16to Broadway Baby.
  692. 28:17You know, but here's Melissa, once again,
  693. 28:19trying to get her kid ahead by having Maddie's solo be
  694. 28:22dedicated to Broadway Baby, and forget about the rest of you.
  695. 28:24Where were you?
  696. 28:26I talked to Abby.
  697. 28:27I showed her that video.
  698. 28:30We had a question for you.
  699. 28:33Why did you go and have Maddie's dance
  700. 28:36dedicated to Baby and Abby when we wanted to do it as a group.
  701. 28:40After Abby specifically said, I don't want it.
  702. 28:43I don't--
  703. 28:44Like we wanted to do it as a group to be from all the kids
  704. 28:47and then you went and did it for just Maddie.
  705. 28:49I don't know.
  706. 28:51I just thought that I should do something special for her
  707. 28:54because I was really close with the dog.
  708. 28:56I mean, I babysat her quite a few times.
  709. 28:58I feel like you just take our information
  710. 29:01and use it to your advantage to get more on Abby's good side.
  711. 29:03You knew that we had a tribute dance plan and you went
  712. 29:06and you did a tribute dance for Maddie.
  713. 29:08It's not fair that Melissa somehow always manages
  714. 29:11to look better than the rest of us,
  715. 29:13and Chloe and all the other girls
  716. 29:15are the ones who end up paying the price, because of things
  717. 29:17just like this.
  718. 29:18We just want you to own up to it, Melissa.
  719. 29:21I don't think this is about the tribute.
  720. 29:23The moms are just mad that Abby and I are friends again
  721. 29:26and they just want Abby to treat me like she treats them.
  722. 29:30You always try to say like, oh, I'm so nice
  723. 29:32and I'm so sweet.
  724. 29:33I just love everybody.
  725. 29:35But I think that you would like kill us in our sleep
  726. 29:37if it meant your kids would get ahead.
  727. 29:40Hello.
  728. 29:41Good job, Nia.
  729. 29:43Congrats.
  730. 29:45There's a lot of tension in the air,
  731. 29:47and what we should be focusing on
  732. 29:48is the group dance that's coming up.
  733. 29:50Hey, Nia.
  734. 29:52Nice job.
  735. 29:54Very nice.
  736. 29:55Very nice.
  737. 29:56Yeah, so what did you think, huh?
  738. 29:58Huh?
  739. 30:01Good job.
  740. 30:02Was it nice to go out there and smile
  741. 30:03and just be pretty and just dance?
  742. 30:05Yes.
  743. 30:06And for you to dedicate your performance.
  744. 30:10I appreciate you.
  745. 30:12I'm really hurt that Abby thinks it's OK for Melissa
  746. 30:15to tribute Maddie's dance to Broadway Baby
  747. 30:18and none of the other girls were allowed to.
  748. 30:20I don't get it.
  749. 30:21So is this going to be a tribute dance?
  750. 30:23Because I misunderstood.
  751. 30:25No.
  752. 30:26We all wanted to do the tribute.
  753. 30:28She ended up being the only one to tribute her child's dance.
  754. 30:32She was close to my dog.
  755. 30:35But I still can feel sorry for you.
  756. 30:37I wish the moms just wouldn't fight with Abby
  757. 30:39and let her enjoy this tribute.
  758. 30:41Anything that I've tried to do to lift her spirits,
  759. 30:44they've squashed with their behavior.
  760. 30:46You watched my dog one day at the dance studio.
  761. 30:49That's right. This wasn't about that.
  762. 30:51My dog has been at Melissa's house and stayed there.
  763. 30:52She's watched it when I traveled and I've gone away.
  764. 30:54So you're saying it's OK for Melissa--
  765. 30:57basically she lies.
  766. 30:58I just can't get over the nerve of Jill
  767. 31:00and the rest of the moms.
  768. 31:02We have a group dance to worry about.
  769. 31:04Maybe the moms should concentrate on that instead
  770. 31:07of going after Melissa.
  771. 31:08Girls, I need you right here lined up
  772. 31:11or you will not be in the routine.
  773. 31:13Does anyone have an orange bottoms?
  774. 31:16Who else is in the yellow top?
  775. 31:17Does anyone have plain pink shorts?
  776. 31:20I felt really rushed.
  777. 31:21I mean, Abby scratched the dance the girls had prepared
  778. 31:24and now they're forced to do something last minute.
  779. 31:26I don't like to do things last minute.
  780. 31:28I like to be prepared.
  781. 31:29This is a feel good, pretty number
  782. 31:31to show off your beautiful technique,
  783. 31:33so don't go out and do the same bad arms
  784. 31:36that you've been told over and over and over are wrong.
  785. 31:39Let's go.
  786. 31:40We got to walk.
  787. 31:43This has been one of the toughest weeks of my life.
  788. 31:46I lost my Baby, and now I'm at this dance competition
  789. 31:50with the routine that I didn't choreograph
  790. 31:53and the kids are improving.
  791. 31:54We do the diagonal line.
  792. 31:55We do the rounded pli to the pyramid.
  793. 31:57We do the--
  794. 31:58I don't think we have a shot at winning this.
  795. 32:00[applause]
  796. 32:02ANNOUNCER: Taking the stage right now
  797. 32:04is the junior small group division.
  798. 32:06Here they are with "Beautiful Days."
  799. 32:08[applause]
  800. 32:09[music - elize, "beautiful day"]
  801. 32:11(SINGING) Na-na na-na ay.
  802. 32:12Na-na na-na ay ay.
  803. 32:15Na-na na-na ay.
  804. 32:17Na-na na-na ay ay.
  805. 32:19Na-na na-na ay.
  806. 32:21Na-na na-na ay ay.
  807. 32:24Na-na na-na ay.
  808. 32:26Na-na na-na ay ay.
  809. 32:28That was a good leap for Paige.
  810. 32:30(SINGING) Hey you, look up at the sun
  811. 32:33'cause it's shining for you.
  812. 32:35It's a beautiful day.
  813. 32:37It's a beautiful day.
  814. 32:39See a million colors and you'll feel brand new.
  815. 32:43It's a beautiful day.
  816. 32:46It's a beautiful day.
  817. 32:49Na-na Na-na ay.
  818. 32:51Na-na na-na ay ay.
  819. 32:54Na-na na-na ay.
  820. 32:56Na-na na-na ay ay.
  821. 32:58Yeah.
  822. 33:01[applause]
  823. 33:04It wasn't the best.
  824. 33:06I think some of the girls could have made better choices,
  825. 33:08but the technique looked good.
  826. 33:10We'll see what the judges say.
  827. 33:15ABBY LEE MILLER: Nia? BLACK PATSY: Yeah.
  828. 33:16ABBY LEE MILLER: No. BLACK PATSY: She was.
  829. 33:17ABBY LEE MILLER: Never noticed.
  830. 33:18I think you were wrong about that.
  831. 33:20I don't think so.
  832. 33:20I don't think so.
  833. 33:22BLACK PATSY: She has two left legs.
  834. 33:23I knew she was a leftie.
  835. 33:24I'm not engaging.
  836. 33:25Well why did you say something to begin with?
  837. 33:27I'm disengaging.
  838. 33:28Hm.
  839. 33:30For her to sit in the audience and critique somebody else's
  840. 33:33child is just plain wrong.
  841. 33:35ABBY LEE MILLER: That's very rude.
  842. 33:37So there can be two rude people here today.
  843. 33:39There's enough rudeness for everybody.
  844. 33:40If you're going to critique something,
  845. 33:41you would have known-- - I'm going.
  846. 33:43--that she was just a whole beat ahead of everybody.
  847. 33:45You didn't let Patsy run you out of here, did you?
  848. 33:48If she thinks that she ran me out of that auditorium,
  849. 33:50she better think again.
  850. 33:52I gracefully exited.
  851. 33:54It's easy for her to dish it out and go off on everybody,
  852. 33:56but when somebody tell her something,
  853. 33:58she don't want to hear it. That's a punk move right there.
  854. 34:00And I see Kendall, 'cause that was my first time really
  855. 34:02watching her, and she can't dance, either.
  856. 34:04Kendall, no.
  857. 34:05[laughs]
  858. 34:07All of a sudden, Black Patsy moves on from Nia to Kendall
  859. 34:11and starts trash talking her.
  860. 34:12Did you hear that?
  861. 34:13She just said Kendall can't dance.
  862. 34:16Who said that?
  863. 34:17It's obvious that Black Patsy is just jealous of Kendall
  864. 34:19because she replaced Nicaya on Abby's team.
  865. 34:22That little girl cannot dance.
  866. 34:24Your daughter cannot dance.
  867. 34:25I thought Nia was the one that had to work her way up.
  868. 34:29Nia dances circles around your kid.
  869. 34:30Well, you know what's funny?
  870. 34:31We said the same thing about your little girl.
  871. 34:33Bitch, you don't want to go there with me.
  872. 34:36I will show your ass hood.
  873. 34:42That little girl cannot dance.
  874. 34:43Your daughter cannot dance.
  875. 34:44I thought Nia was the one that had to work her way up.
  876. 34:46Nia dances circles around your kid.
  877. 34:49You know what's funny?
  878. 34:50We said the same thing about your little girl.
  879. 34:52I'm not going to sit back and let this woman bad mouth
  880. 34:56my child and say all this [bleep] that isn't true.
  881. 34:59I walked in your recital, got right on stage,
  882. 35:01and danced with your "elite" dancers.
  883. 35:03You were kicked out because she wasn't good enough.
  884. 35:05No, bitch, I left.
  885. 35:07You ran back to that studio and I see
  886. 35:08why they didn't want you back, because your kid sucks.
  887. 35:11Does that make you feel good?
  888. 35:13Bitch, you don't want to go there with me.
  889. 35:14I will show your ass hood.
  890. 35:15Who started this?
  891. 35:17You don't want to--
  892. 35:18Who started this?
  893. 35:20I just thought it was hysterical to see Jill trying
  894. 35:22to get like all hood rat.
  895. 35:24Shut your big mouth and I'll tell you who started it.
  896. 35:28Shut the blank up.
  897. 35:30And Black Patsy's all like, F y'all.
  898. 35:32I'm like, whoa, whoa.
  899. 35:34OK, stop. stop.
  900. 35:35Stop.
  901. 35:36[arguing]
  902. 35:39Stop.
  903. 35:40I apologize on behalf of the Abby Lee Dance Company.
  904. 35:44You're a punk, Abby.
  905. 35:45Apologize for that.
  906. 35:46Where is my daughter?
  907. 35:48We are not a part of that, and I am very, very sorry
  908. 35:51that this happened and the children had to hear that.
  909. 35:54[applause]
  910. 35:56I'm done talking.
  911. 35:57I'm disengaging, like Dr. Holly said.
  912. 35:59[bleep] y'all. [gasps]
  913. 36:01I really hope to never, ever, ever come across that woman
  914. 36:05again.
  915. 36:06Bitch is what she is.
  916. 36:08Where were you guys?
  917. 36:09Come on.
  918. 36:11I really wish you guys could have stuck up for me.
  919. 36:13Jill was all mad that the moms wouldn't jump in,
  920. 36:15but I was really worried that Black Patsy was going
  921. 36:17to pull up my weave.
  922. 36:18I-- I--
  923. 36:20She's speechless.
  924. 36:20This one's speechless.
  925. 36:22You know, Kelly, I was actually looking at you
  926. 36:24and I'm going, come on.
  927. 36:25Come on.
  928. 36:26But I couldn't fight because I didn't--
  929. 36:28I was trying to get you because I wasn't letting her go
  930. 36:31down. I'm like, come on.
  931. 36:32You're not doing anything, and I'm like--
  932. 36:33Maybe that's my way to join in.
  933. 36:35We are partners in crime.
  934. 36:37Oh my god, Kelly, I need you.
  935. 36:40I miss so many things with Kelly.
  936. 36:41I just miss knowing that someone has my back.
  937. 36:43And clearly, you know, Kelly and I need each other,
  938. 36:45because when we're separated, we don't have the forces to fight
  939. 36:48evil.
  940. 36:49But I need you to be my friend because we
  941. 36:51can fight evil forces.
  942. 36:52Like I lost my mojo.
  943. 36:53I've got nothing.
  944. 36:54[applause]
  945. 36:57First of all, we're going to start the awards in just
  946. 36:59a second.
  947. 37:00But I want to address something that happened here
  948. 37:03just briefly.
  949. 37:05For those of you that were out in the hallway
  950. 37:09during the incident, I want to sincerely apologize
  951. 37:13for the Expressions Dance and myself.
  952. 37:15These ladies are a bunch of rich bitches.
  953. 37:17That's what they are.
  954. 37:18ANNOUNCER: That type of behavior is not tolerated.
  955. 37:21That person was removed from the competition.
  956. 37:23[applause]
  957. 37:26Thank you very much.
  958. 37:29If I do come back, these moms better watch out.
  959. 37:32It's a shame that Patsy couldn't control her temper
  960. 37:36and now she's gone.
  961. 37:37Nicaya doesn't even get to see the awards.
  962. 37:40It's a tight competition.
  963. 37:41She could have placed, but now she'll never know.
  964. 37:44Now, on to the fun stuff.
  965. 37:46All right, ladies and gentlemen, we
  966. 37:48are going to start with our judges awards first.
  967. 37:52Judges award for fiercest costume.
  968. 37:54Lots of costumes stood out to me today,
  969. 37:56but what I loved about this costume
  970. 37:58was the way the dancer worked it with such confidence.
  971. 38:00Congratulations, number 25.
  972. 38:02[cheering]
  973. 38:03Nia.
  974. 38:06And who made your costume?
  975. 38:08Well, my mom made my costume.
  976. 38:11Congratulations.
  977. 38:12Take that, Abby.
  978. 38:14ANNOUNCER: We have our top soloists.

  980. 38:24[cheering]
  981. 38:29Nia got third.
  982. 38:30HOLLY: I am unbelievably proud of Nia this week.
  983. 38:33She scored third overall.
  984. 38:35And it was a chaotic week, filled with emotion, pressure
  985. 38:37from Patsy, but Nia held her head up high
  986. 38:40and she scored big for Abby.
  987. 38:43And in first place, with a score
  988. 38:46to 294.5 points, entry number 26, "Showing You My Love."
  989. 38:53[applause]
  990. 38:58Maddie is a champion, and the judges recognize that.
  991. 39:02I am so proud of her, and I know that Baby will be, too.
  992. 39:06ANNOUNCER: OK, now we'll be moving into our small groups.
  993. 39:09Considering the group awards, I can't say I have high hopes
  994. 39:12that this group dance is going to do anything.
  995. 39:14We're doing our top two scores in the junior division.
  996. 39:18Second place, with a score of 266.95 points,
  997. 39:22entry number 65, "Somebody to Love."
  998. 39:26[applause]
  999. 39:27They just announced second place and it wasn't us.
1000. 39:29There's a really good chance that we didn't place at all.
1001. 39:32ANNOUNCER: First place, with a score of 273.12 points,
  1002. 39:36entry number 64, "Beautiful Day."

  1018. 40:13Give me a hug.
1019. 40:15Put your arms around me and squeeze.
  1020. 40:18[music continuing]
1021. 40:20The girls made this card for you.
1022. 40:22I wish she could be here.
  1023. 40:24I love Baby.
  1024. 40:25ABBY LEE MILLER: I know.
1025. 40:26She made everybody smile, right?
1026. 40:35If you love Baby and care about her,
  1027. 40:36then say a prayer that she's OK and that she's good.
  1028. 40:40Miss Abby, we--
1029. 40:50ABBY LEE MILLER (VOICEOVER): Next on "Dance Moms."
  1030. 40:51It's speed dating.
  1031. 40:52[laughs]
  1032. 40:53How are you doing?
1033. 40:54Do you own your own tuxedo?
  1034. 40:56I'm a 50-yard line cut girl.
1035. 40:59The duet will be Kendall and Nia.
  1036. 41:02Where's Jill?
  1037. 41:03Having a private with Kendall.
1038. 41:05I didn't do anything behind your back.
1039. 41:06I did it right in front of you, and I
1040. 41:08did it to benefit my child.
  1041. 41:10I don't feel like we're being a team.
1042. 41:12This is about competing and this is about winning.
1043. 41:14If your mother does something to jeopardize this competition,
  1044. 41:17you're done.
