Full transcript
- 0:00so I guess you're wondering how to
- 0:01record your face and your screen at the
- 0:03same time so you can create Pro looking
- 0:04videos without having to figure out all
- 0:07of the tech well in this video I have
- 0:08you covered right now I'm using descript
- 0:10to record my face and my screen at the
- 0:12same time and what I happen to have open
- 0:14here is my good notes app but you can
- 0:16record anything on your screen any piece
- 0:19of software your Google Slides your
- 0:21canva slides what I love about dscript
- 0:23is you can use it on a Mac or a PC and
- 0:27you can record your videos with it and
- 0:28then also edit and when it records your
- 0:31face and your screen there are two
- 0:33separate files so you can edit them
- 0:36differently you can have just your face
- 0:37on screen for a little bit of the time
- 0:39or just have your slides or your screen
- 0:42or split them in half or do a little
- 0:45picture-in-picture scenario plus
- 0:47descript has some AI functionality like
- 0:49just turning your video into a
- 0:51transcript automatically and allowing
- 0:53you to edit your video like a document
- 0:56it's pretty cool so if you haven't
- 0:57checked out the script yet I'll put a
- 0:58link down in the description by the way
- 1:00my name is Meredith and here on this
- 1:02channel I'm here to help you look good
- 1:03sound good and feel good on camera so
- 1:05that you can build your thriving YouTube
- 1:07channel and I'll put links to everything
- 1:09that I mentioned down in the description
- 1:11below this video now I mentioned that
- 1:12I'm recording my face and I'm recording
- 1:14my screen they're gonna be two separate
- 1:16files and I'll be able to turn this into
- 1:18a like YouTube video or even a course
- 1:21video now if that's something that
- 1:23you're trying to do and you need to have
- 1:25those two separate recordings to kind of
- 1:27edit back and forth between them I
- 1:29highly recommend that you check out
- 1:30screenflow screenflow is a Mac only
- 1:33software but this is my absolute go-to
- 1:36when it comes to screen recordings that
- 1:39are like a tutorial where I'm showing a
- 1:41piece of software I'm showing how to do
- 1:43something and I might want to zoom in on
- 1:47a menu or throw an arrow or make it
- 1:50really obvious exactly where I'm
- 1:52clicking on the screen and similar to
- 1:54descript you can record with screenflow
- 1:57and then edit with screenflow but
- 1:58screenflow is special realizes in screen
- 2:01recording and screen recording editing
- 2:03and the features and functions are like
- 2:05absolutely Bonkers when it comes to
- 2:08creating really good easy to follow
- 2:11tutorial Style videos so if that's what
- 2:14you're creating I highly recommend you
- 2:16check out screenflow if you're a PC user
- 2:19and you want to use those kinds of
- 2:20robust features and functions for
- 2:22recording your face and your screen and
- 2:24then editing them together you could
- 2:27look at Camtasia I've used it a little
- 2:29bit here and there but I still prefer
- 2:31screenflow so I always go back to
- 2:33screenflow but if you don't have a Mac
- 2:34Camtasia might be the next best option
- 2:36now another easy way to record your face
- 2:38and your screen at the same time would
- 2:40be just to use zoom just download the
- 2:43software share your screen and then make
- 2:45sure your camera is on and you'll be
- 2:47able to do both there's a couple
- 2:48downsides one the quality is not going
- 2:52to be that great and number two your
- 2:54files won't be separate it's going to
- 2:55record your face in your screen all on
- 2:58one file and you won't be able to later
- 3:01edit your video where you're kind of
- 3:03switching back and forth and although
- 3:04Zoom would not be my first choice to
- 3:07kind of get the job done for recording
- 3:08your face and your screen at the same
- 3:10time most of us have it available to us
- 3:12and it's it's easy to use in a pinch and
- 3:14did you also know that canva has a
- 3:17feature where you can record your face
- 3:19and your screen right within the browser
- 3:21you don't even have to download any
- 3:22extra software so for a simple
- 3:24presentation where you want to have your
- 3:26face in the bottom corner for example
- 3:28and then be able to show your slides
- 3:30canva does this in a really simple easy
- 3:32to use way now I have a couple more face
- 3:34and screen recording options for you but
- 3:36if this video has been helpful for you
- 3:38so far make sure you give it a big
- 3:39thumbs up and follow me here for more
- 3:41tips just like this one however if
- 3:43you're recording your face in your
- 3:44screen at the same time to create videos
- 3:46to build your thriving YouTube channel
- 3:48my best video creation tip is coming up
- 3:51number six Loom is a great option if
- 3:53you're going to be recording shorter
- 3:55videos you can have up to five minute
- 3:57recording time on their free plan and
- 3:59it's an other browser-based option it's
- 4:01really simple to use it gives you some
- 4:03control over the size of your face
- 4:06compared to the screen and where you
- 4:07want it to show up on the screen and
- 4:10ecam has been one of my favorite pieces
- 4:11of software for recording my face and
- 4:13screen at the same time again this one
- 4:16is Mac only but what I love about it is
- 4:19you can have your face in your screen
- 4:20you can have the graphics and images on
- 4:23your screen you can sort of arrange it
- 4:25and design it however you want to and
- 4:28then that's how it's going to look when
- 4:31it's done so you don't have to go in and
- 4:33add graphics when you're editing or
- 4:34figure out where your face is going to
- 4:36be you set it up like that and then just
- 4:38hit record you can record anything on
- 4:40your screen in the browser any piece of
- 4:42software you can switch out Graphics as
- 4:45you're recording and yes ecam is a live
- 4:47streaming tool but you can use it just
- 4:48to record videos lastly Riverside is a
- 4:51great option to look into because
- 4:53Riverside prioritizes the quality of the
- 4:57video and of the audio this is browse
- 4:59user-based podcast recording but you can
- 5:02also record your face and your screen at
- 5:04the same time and then you'll have a
- 5:06high quality video recording plus they
- 5:08have some AI transcription tools as well
- 5:11and I will link to Riverside and all of
- 5:13the other pieces of software that I
- 5:15mentioned down in the description below
- 5:17this video and I'm also going to link up
- 5:19my camera and my microphone that I use
- 5:21when I'm recording my face and screen at
- 5:25the same time but when it comes to
- 5:26creating videos like this your face and
- 5:28screen or just your face to build your
- 5:30thriving YouTube channel the most
- 5:32powerful way to do that is to build a
- 5:35web of binge-worthy videos and I'll
- 5:36queue up my next video here explaining
- 5:38how to create more videos in less time
- 5:41that actually connect with your audience
- 5:43so that you can build your thriving
- 5:44YouTube channel
