9. 0:15twenty-eight-year-old jody aries first
10. 0:17met thirty-year-old travis alexander
11. 0:19in september of 2006 at a prepaid legal
12. 0:22services or
13. 0:23ppl convention in las vegas arius had
14. 0:26previously been working as a freelance

16. 0:29when a friend told her to check out the
17. 0:31multi-level marketing company for some
18. 0:33new opportunities

48. 1:29had a strong allegiance to the church of
49. 1:31latter-day saints
50. 1:32in order to be the woman she thought he
51. 1:34wanted jodi arias also converted to
52. 1:36mormonism so that they could have
53. 1:38religious grounding in common
54. 1:40as one of the elders at his church
55. 1:41alexander was one of the people who
56. 1:43conducted arius's baptism
57. 1:45in november of 2006. despite the newly
58. 1:48made commitment
59. 1:49alexander and arius's sexual
60. 1:50relationship didn't slow down
61. 1:52in fact the now convicted murderer
62. 1:55admitted that she and her late victim
63. 1:57had sex on the very night of her baptism

161. 4:52and areas simply didn't fit the
162. 4:53description on top of that the chemistry

164. 4:57had gone from hot to extremely volatile
165. 4:59with arias threatening to release their
166. 5:01explicit recording and alexander
167. 5:03allegedly calling her
168. 5:04a quote evil sociopath tired of the back
169. 5:07and forth and the tumultuous nature of
170. 5:09their relationship
171. 5:10arius began plotting the murder on may

173. 5:132008 arius's grandparents home was
174. 5:15burglarized and the supposed perpetrator
175. 5:18walked away with several
176. 5:19objects including her grandfather's 25
177. 5:22caliber gun
178. 5:22during that same period arius had also
179. 5:25begun seeing ryan burns

181. 5:29to meet up in salt lake city at a
182. 5:31company conference in june
183. 5:32prior to leaving aries picked up two gas
184. 5:35cans from a former lover
185. 5:36stating california gas prices were
186. 5:38cheaper it was later found out the cans
187. 5:40were a ploy so she didn't fill up while
188. 5:42in mesa
189. 5:44on june 4th 2008 jodi arias drove from
190. 5:47california to mesa
191. 5:48where she met up with travis alexander
192. 5:50at his home the pair spent the day
193. 5:52having sex
194. 5:52and taking explicit photos of each other
195. 5:55afterward alexander decided to get in
196. 5:57the shower
197. 5:57while he was showering arius continued
198. 5:59taking candid photos of him
199. 6:01in what's believed to be his last photo
200. 6:03alive alexander has a perplexed look on
201. 6:05his face that some speculate was the
202. 6:07realization
203. 6:08that something bad was about to happen
204. 6:10arya stabbed alexander at least
205. 6:1226 times with the victim sustaining
206. 6:15defensive wounds
207. 6:16along the way she then proceeded to slit
208. 6:18his throat and then shot him in the head
209. 6:20sealing his fate evidence found the
210. 6:22bullet was from a 25 caliber gun
211. 6:24the same type of gun that had been
212. 6:26stolen from her grandfather's house
213. 6:28neither the gun nor the knife were ever
214. 6:30recovered as the murder was taking place
215. 6:32aries thought she turned off the camera
216. 6:34but in actuality it continued capturing
217. 6:36blurry photos
218. 6:38showing pools of alexander's blood these
219. 6:40were later shown at the trial
220. 6:41arius attempted to delete all pictures
221. 6:44by throwing the camera in alexander's
222. 6:45washing machine
223. 6:46along with bloody towels she used to
224. 6:48wipe up some blood
225. 6:49she then ran the contents through a wash
226. 6:51cycle and left the home
227. 6:53soon after though her behavior prior to
228. 6:56the murder was extremely bizarre
229. 6:58her actions after the killing were twice
230. 7:00as perplexing
231. 7:01after leaving travis alexander's home
232. 7:03jody arias finally called ryan burns and
233. 7:06told him she was on her way to utah she
234. 7:08was a day late but excused her extreme
235. 7:10tardiness by saying she accidentally
236. 7:12drove in the wrong direction
237. 7:13and had stopped to rest at some point
238. 7:15while in utah burns said arius was
239. 7:17friendly and upbeat and showed no signs
240. 7:20that anything was wrong
241. 7:21in his court testimony byrne said she
242. 7:23was fine
243. 7:24she was laughing about simple little
244. 7:26things like any other person
245. 7:27i never once felt like anything was
246. 7:29wrong about the day
247. 7:30socially the first time i saw her in a
248. 7:32crowd i thought she was much more
249. 7:34comfortable one-on-one
250. 7:35but one-on-one she was very talkative
251. 7:38the odd thing was the fact that she was
252. 7:40wearing long sleeves in hot weather
253. 7:41and had some cuts on her hands arius
254. 7:44explained this by saying she sustained
255. 7:45the injuries while waitressing
256. 7:48because of the recession travis
257. 7:49alexander had two roommates renting
258. 7:51rooms in his house so he could pay his
259. 7:53extremely high mortgage
260. 7:55however though one of them was home for
261. 7:56the entire time alexander laid dead in
262. 7:59his shower
263. 8:00it wasn't until friends of his sought
264. 8:02him out that his body was discovered
265. 8:04on the day that he died alexander had an
266. 8:06important conference call scheduled for
267. 8:077 pm
268. 8:08his friends found the absence curious
269. 8:10however when he didn't
270. 8:12show up for a business trip to mexico
271. 8:14they decided to pay him a visit
272. 8:15on june 9 2008 five days after his
273. 8:18killing
274. 8:19one of alexander's roommates along with
275. 8:21his friend entered the horrific
276. 8:22bedroom and found him dead in his shower
277. 8:25in a harrowing 9-1-1 call
278. 8:27a friend of alexander's called out arius
279. 8:29as a primary suspect
280. 8:30she stated he has an ex-girlfriend
281. 8:32that's been bothering him
282. 8:34she's been following him and slashing
283. 8:35tires things like that
284. 8:37though it only took a few days for
285. 8:38friends to suspect something was up the
286. 8:40roommates didn't have an
287. 8:41inkling the entire five days they
288. 8:43claimed they never smelled any
289. 8:45decomposition
290. 8:46despite the fact that his body was in
291. 8:48there for nearly a week
292. 8:50just over a month after the murder cops
293. 8:52showed up at jodi arias's home to arrest
294. 8:55her for the murder of travis alexander
295. 8:57she didn't put up a fight nor did she
296. 8:59seem scared however arya seemed to be
297. 9:01very much concerned about how she looked
298. 9:03while being arrested
299. 9:04prior to being taken to the station
300. 9:06aries never asked to alert her
301. 9:08grandparents and her manner seemed
302. 9:10composed
303. 9:11instead she surprised arresting officer
304. 9:13flores by asking to get her purse so she

308. 9:21to quote freshen up before getting her

310. 9:24when told no she was seen on
311. 9:26surveillance fluffing her hair to give
312. 9:28it more body and reprimanding herself

318. 9:38the young photographer was the prime
319. 9:39suspect in their minds
320. 9:41however it took a while for aries to
321. 9:43finally come around to admitting that
322. 9:45she had any involvement in his demise
323. 9:47on the night that she was arrested aries
324. 9:49told officials that she didn't even know
325. 9:51that her former flame was murdered and
326. 9:53was hell-bent on the fact that she had
327. 9:55nothing to do with it
328. 9:56however after spending the night in jail
329. 9:58arius came back with an elaborate story
330. 10:01about how the pair got attacked while in
331. 10:03alexander's home
332. 10:04she claimed two intruders came into the
333. 10:06house while she was taking photos of
334. 10:08alexander as he was in the shower
335. 10:10and began attacking both of them arius
336. 10:12claimed she survived because the
337. 10:14intruders were specifically targeting
338. 10:16alexander
339. 10:16she told detective flores that she
340. 10:18didn't go to the authorities because she
341. 10:20was scared i was scared
342. 10:22and i couldn't imagine calling
343. 10:259-1-1 and telling them what
344. 10:28i had just done but that wasn't the end
345. 10:31of it
346. 10:32during the trial arius claimed to have
347. 10:34killed alexander in self-defense
348. 10:36she told the court that they got into a
349. 10:38fight where he physically attacked her
350. 10:39and she accidentally shot the gun
351. 10:41arius insinuated that alexander had
352. 10:44previously been physically abusive
353. 10:46and that's why she panicked one of the
354. 10:48more captivating aspects of the jodi
355. 10:50arias case was her brazen attitude it
356. 10:52seemed no matter who she was talking to
357. 10:54she spoke with conviction even though
358. 10:56she was lying most of the time
359. 10:58one of the instances that intrigued the

380. 11:36part of her self-defense claim during
381. 11:37the trial in 2014
382. 11:39arius admitted that she was so brazen
383. 11:41only because she thought she would
384. 11:42commit suicide at some point
385. 11:44she told the jury i was very confident
386. 11:46that no jury would convict me
387. 11:48because i was sure i'd be dead those are
388. 11:50probably the most bitter words i'll ever
