- 0:25Hello everyone. Welcome to episode 134
- 0:28of Summon Sign the Last Deas weekly
- 0:31in-depth game discussion podcast. I'm
- 0:33your host as always, Brad Ellison
- 0:35joining me. I got the homie.
- 0:38>> You already know.
- 0:39>> Got him, dude. Mr. Cognito Cog, what's
- 0:41up, dude? Good.
- 0:43>> Chilling, man. Chilling. Oh, man. Just
- 0:45getting ready for the week, you know,
- 0:46and I got I got the call. I was
- 0:48summoned. Yep.
- 0:49>> I was like, I like I like this subject.
- 0:51So, I was just like, "Oh, he picked me.
- 0:54He thought of me on this." I was like,
- 0:55"Yes."
- 0:56>> Oh, yeah.
- 0:57>> Yeah. So, we going to have some fun
- 0:58today.
- 0:58>> Oh, yeah. We're going to have some good
- 1:00fun.
- 1:00>> How's everything going, man? With ILP,
- 1:03the Dukes. [sighs]
- 1:04>> Yes. A lot a lot going on. We We We're
- 1:07covering a lot of games.
- 1:10>> Sadly, the games I really want to talk
- 1:11about, I can't talk about on some side.
- 1:13[laughter]
- 1:14>> Not yet.
- 1:15>> We Yeah. Not yet. Not yet. We're a
- 1:16little early. A little early. But, no,
- 1:18it's been it's been a lot going on. But
- 1:19right now, I'm in um I'm in Germany
- 1:21mode. I'm in Germany mode to be honest
- 1:22with you.
- 1:23>> Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:24>> Gamescom. Okay.
- 1:25>> Gamescom. So, it's it's really ramping
- 1:28up and hotels and flights and and then
- 1:31Yeah, bro. It's crazy.
- 1:33>> So expensive.
- 1:34>> Woo. Oh, it's different than Japan. You
- 1:36You would have thought that. [laughter]
- 1:37I was like, damn. The euro versus the
- 1:40dollar is something different.
- 1:41>> Yeah.
- 1:42>> Versus the yen.
- 1:43>> Yeah.
- 1:45>> Crazy.
- 1:45>> Yeah. So, we learned about that. And
- 1:47then uh just kind of like appointments.
- 1:49You know, you know the routine when you
- 1:50do these conventions and shows. So,
- 1:51we're trying to like line up everything.
- 1:54do all the booking for you guys?
- 1:56>> I do about
- 1:5780%. I'll say I I've I've come down to
- 2:0170 and now let add it take a little bit
- 2:03more person cuz it gets too much, bro.
- 2:05It gets too
- 2:06>> a lot.
- 2:06>> Yeah,
- 2:07>> cuz you're doing like what four people
- 2:08at least with you. Yeah,
- 2:10>> four people the bookings and then some
- 2:12people like, "Hey, we only have this
- 2:14time and or we only have two people and
- 2:16you know how it goes, right?" So you got
- 2:18to and then you know if you're not quick
- 2:20when the email comes in for the for the
- 2:22titles of the you know the companies you
- 2:24like you're like damn like you got to
- 2:26move on it. So it's one of those things
- 2:27where it's always stop what you're doing
- 2:28email just came in yada yada yada. So
- 2:30we're in that mode and then obviously
- 2:32just getting familiar with Germany. I've
- 2:33never been you know so I've been taking
- 2:34a lot of advice from people and then
- 2:36obviously a lot of people who you know
- 2:38are going also because of us you know
- 2:40say which is kind of dope you know. So
- 2:41I'm excited. It just it gets hectic the
- 2:44pre preparation and then usually people
- 2:47don't realize after a convention is also
- 2:49the busiest time because they want
- 2:51content and this and Yeah. So it's a
- 2:53lot. It's a lot. So we in that we in
- 2:55that zone right now man.
- 2:56>> Yeah. They'll come knocking at your
- 2:57door.
- 2:58>> Oh yeah. Yeah. So it's it's been we just
- 3:00in case you know things may have slipped
- 3:02your mind you know stuff that you ask
- 3:04for. We like to see coverage. [laughter]
- 3:07>> So I get it. You know the relationships.
- 3:08You know how it go.
- 3:10>> But how you been man? What's been going
- 3:11on with you? Uh, pretty good, dude. Been
- 3:14I've been in uh lock in mode with the
- 3:17gym recently. Cause
- 3:19>> the gains have been happening slowly,
- 3:21but it's been good. I been eating more
- 3:23more protein,
- 3:24>> which has been a struggle. I'm not a
- 3:26huge eater, so it's kind of a struggle
- 3:28for me, but
- 3:29>> okay,
- 3:29>> I'm finding cheats. My biggest strat
- 3:31now, Cog, is to put protein powder and
- 3:34Greek yogurt, and that's what does it
- 3:36for me.
- 3:37>> Yeah, that's a game changer right there.
- 3:38That's a game changer. If you're in bulk
- 3:40mode also, that's a great one because
- 3:42it's um Greek is is really good. Also,
- 3:45um I don't know if if you're in really
- 3:47bulk mode. The other thing I would say
- 3:48is uh Caseian protein
- 3:51>> um like not not too far before bread, I
- 3:53mean before bed, it's really good. It's
- 3:55like a slow digestive protein. So, while
- 3:57you sleep cuz basically when you're
- 3:58sleeping, it's like that fasting period
- 4:00of 8 hours. So, it's kind of like slow
- 4:02digesting through your body and like for
- 4:04people that are really, you know, they
- 4:05want to bulk, they they do that as well.
- 4:06So, yeah, man. And and a little creatine
- 4:09will help you. I have creatine. All
- 4:10right, let's go.
- 4:11>> Yeah. Yeah. Got that. Um, wait, how much
- 4:13grams of that case protein do you have
- 4:15per night?
- 4:15>> I get it's about I got what it's called
- 4:17dietized. I said it too. It's about I
- 4:19think it's about 24
- 4:20>> 24 g.
- 4:21>> Yeah. It's it's a I like the taste. It's
- 4:23like a cookies and cream. I throw that
- 4:25in there with a little almond milk. You
- 4:27know what I mean? And it's it's
- 4:29delicious, man. It's like a shake. It's
- 4:30like I'm cheating. I'm like, "Oh, this
- 4:31is great." You know what I'm saying? So,
- 4:33yeah, I've been doing that for a while,
- 4:34man. But uh yeah, like when I'm in that
- 4:36bobbo, but yeah, if you if you try to do
- 4:37what's our goal, sir, what do we what
- 4:39are we trying to do?
- 4:40>> Bulking more. I'm I'm not like I want to
- 4:42get this certain weight or anything like
- 4:44that. I'm just going
- 4:46>> Okay.
- 4:47>> So, I'm like, all right, we could slow
- 4:48down a little bit. [laughter]
- 4:50>> But I got to be careful, man.
- 4:51>> Like the caffeine in the pre-workouts,
- 4:54they're kind of messing me up. I got to
- 4:56be careful.
- 4:56>> Got to be careful.
- 4:57>> Like yesterday, I was doing um hip
- 5:00thrusts
- 5:01>> and I almost passed out.
- 5:03>> I was like, "Okay, dude.
- 5:04Gotta chill out.
- 5:06>> Yeah.
- 5:07>> I'm gonna step back from that stuff.
- 5:09>> So,
- 5:10>> do you do you attribute it to the
- 5:12caffeine, per se, or like just too much
- 5:15or like
- 5:16>> It could have been just me pushing too
- 5:17hard.
- 5:18>> Okay.
- 5:18>> But I felt a little more ppped than
- 5:21usual, I guess.
- 5:22>> Gotcha. Gotcha.
- 5:23>> So, I'm like, "All right, maybe I should
- 5:24just like not do that for a little bit.
- 5:26[laughter] We'll see how the future
- 5:28workouts go without it. I'm going to try
- 5:30to do without any pre-workout or
- 5:32whatever."
- 5:33>> Yeah. See how your body feels. See how
- 5:34your body feel. For me, I was when it's
- 5:36older, it's tougher.
- 5:37>> I'm always, you know, tired or sometimes
- 5:39I need that little, you know what I'm
- 5:40saying? I get it, dude.
- 5:41>> So, it's tough. But I understand like I
- 5:43mean, if you could do it without it, for
- 5:45sure. You know what I'm saying? Is Is
- 5:46yours just a quick question, is yours
- 5:47like a a base pre-workout eye or does it
- 5:50have like the beta ality where it makes
- 5:51you like tingle and all?
- 5:53>> No, it doesn't have that kind of stuff.
- 5:55>> It doesn't have anything like that. And
- 5:57like I've tried other things like I had
- 5:58coffee one time before and that did not
- 6:01work out well for me at all. I was like,
- 6:03"This sucks. I can never do this again.
- 6:04>> I can't do co coffee is just that's
- 6:06laxative for me." Like I [laughter] like
- 6:08like literally literally an hour late.
- 6:10I'm like 30 minutes late. I'm like,
- 6:11"Yeah, I got to go." [laughter]
- 6:13>> I think the the strat for me right now
- 6:15as cog is I'm going to try to
- 6:18have no caffeine most of the time, but
- 6:20occasionally maybe have a little bit
- 6:22here and there. Just not every day. I
- 6:24don't want it being an everyday kind of
- 6:26thing. Maybe
- 6:27>> like caffeine's fine, but I think I was
- 6:29just having too much all around. too
- 6:31much throughout the day.
- 6:32>> Good point. Good point. Yeah.
- 6:34>> Cuz you know, we're like of the mindset
- 6:36of like a teenager still where it's just
- 6:38like, oh yeah, gamer time, caffeine
- 6:41time, all that stuff. [laughter]
- 6:44>> Yeah. Yeah. It's definitely something I
- 6:45got to work on, too. So, for me, it's
- 6:47more
- 6:48podcast cuz like I it helps with my
- 6:50energy. You know what I'm saying?
- 6:53>> I podcast almost every day. So, I'm like
- 6:55I am drinking a lot of caffeine. If you
- 6:57really analy I was really analyzing. So
- 6:59yeah, I try to make a constant effort to
- 7:00not especially on the days I'm not
- 7:02podcasting, not doing other stuff to
- 7:03like eliminate it because yeah, it can
- 7:05get, you know, too much.
- 7:07>> Yeah. And I haven't walked in like four
- 7:10or five days and I usually walk every
- 7:11day and that helps a lot I think. So I
- 7:14got to get back on that stuff cuz I'm
- 7:15getting old too and that's just what
- 7:17happens when
- 7:18>> the big 31. I remember those days. What
- 7:20you
- 7:21>> I'm 39.
- 7:22>> Are you coming up on the Yes, you coming
- 7:24up on the Yes. Let's go. I look saddest
- 7:27for sure right now. Yeah.
- 7:28>> Here we go. But here's here's the thing,
- 7:30Brat. Like this is when things
- 7:33>> 40 is when
- 7:35happens, bro. Bro, you going to be like,
- 7:37why is this not working anymore? Like,
- 7:39why is it like body parts just want to
- 7:41act up for no reason? Like, yeah. Yeah.
- 7:44That's maintenance mode. And and and
- 7:47staying on top of it because little
- 7:49nagging things can progress into serious
- 7:51things. And it's not careful about it.
- 7:54You seem like a guy that's always, you
- 7:55know, kind of
- 7:55>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm pretty good
- 7:56about like keeping an eye on things and
- 7:59checkups and all that kind of stuff.
- 8:00>> For sure. For sure.
- 8:01>> I will say though, tonight
- 8:03>> or I woke up at 3:00 a.m.
- 8:05>> and I was like, "What the fuck?" And my
- 8:07eye was just very dry.
- 8:10>> Oh [ __ ]
- 8:10>> And pain, like sore pain. I was like,
- 8:12"What's happening?"
- 8:14>> Oh no.
- 8:14>> And I was like, "Is it my like a fan or
- 8:17something like that or is an allergy
- 8:18kicking up going on there?" But I put in
- 8:20some eye drops.
- 8:22>> Okay.
- 8:22>> Had a ibuprofen.
- 8:24>> Okay.
- 8:24>> And it's still lingering a little bit,
- 8:26but I'm way better now than I was
- 8:29earlier.
- 8:30>> This has happened to me before, so I
- 8:31think it's an allergy thing
- 8:32occasionally.
- 8:33>> Okay. Okay.
- 8:34>> Like everyone in my family has
- 8:35allergies.
- 8:35>> Gotcha. Okay.
- 8:36>> So, it's just probably one of those
- 8:37things, but it's just extremely
- 8:40annoying.
- 8:41>> Yeah. Yeah. No, stay on top of it
- 8:42though. Like I said, little things
- 8:44trans.
- 8:46Yeah. So, stay on top of it for sure.
- 8:48>> Yeah. But uh I don't know. I guess it's
- 8:51not really anything surprising or new
- 8:52for me.
- 8:54>> Luckily, I don't have it. Like my my
- 8:55brother has allergies way worse than I
- 8:57do, so I lucked out on that side. But
- 8:59[laughter]
- 9:00>> it is what it is.
- 9:01>> Yeah. I was just
- 9:02>> When you get old,
- 9:04>> get ready, everybody. All you young
- 9:05bucks listening, it gets worse.
- 9:08[laughter]
- 9:09>> That's what it is. It gets worse, bro.
- 9:10Once you hit 40.
- 9:12>> Yeah. You're with You're on uh Duke with
- 9:14Maddie. Yeah, that still that still
- 9:17innocent young boy.
- 9:20>> He's dirty.
- 9:22>> He's like, I pulled my muscle and I I
- 9:24don't know what to do.
- 9:26[laughter]
- 9:28>> I was like, ah, the good old days when
- 9:30you just you just move a certain way and
- 9:32something happens and you're like, bro,
- 9:34I remember when I like started getting
- 9:3630 like I would get like um what you
- 9:37call it like the Charlie horses. I'm
- 9:39like, why am I just getting
- 9:40>> Oh, yeah, dude.
- 9:41>> It's been a while since I had one, but
- 9:42yeah, those suck so bad. Can it wake you
- 9:45up out your sleep? And I was like, okay,
- 9:47I think what it is, you know, I don't
- 9:48have a lot of electrolytes in my body. I
- 9:49started working on having bananas. And
- 9:51then, you know, sometimes even like a
- 9:53little Gatorade and stuff like that
- 9:54every now and then. But yeah, then that
- 9:56helped. I'm like, okay, I'm noticing
- 9:57going it's your body talking to you,
- 9:59telling you you're not doing something
- 10:01completely right and we just want to let
- 10:03you know. So, oh yeah, those
- 10:05>> point where I'm like, okay, I got to
- 10:07stretch more certain areas like Yeah.
- 10:09Sometimes when I like bend down or like
- 10:11move really kind of unusual, I'll feel
- 10:14like kind of in my traps up here or
- 10:16something like that. I'm like, "Okay,
- 10:17dude. [laughter] All right, dude. Got to
- 10:20be a little more careful now." But I
- 10:22will say stronger than I've ever been in
- 10:24my entire life right now, though.
- 10:25>> Let's go.
- 10:26>> So, that's good.
- 10:27>> Oh, I like that. We got to see Bulan,
- 10:29Brad. Let's
- 10:29>> see more. I'm not trying to get like
- 10:33>> You ain't on there. Say, "Excuse me,
- 10:35Brad. Can you tell me where the bus is?"
- 10:36The bus is right over there.
- 10:38>> Yeah. I'm not hitting those yet.
- 10:39>> You ain't there yet? You ain't Okay. You
- 10:40ain't there for directions.
- 10:41>> I'm not going I'm not going like
- 10:43[laughter] there or like that. Or like
- 10:46hit him with like a little like that or
- 10:48something. [laughter]
- 10:49Get one of those.
- 10:52>> I feel you though. I feel you. Got
- 10:53[laughter]
- 10:54>> Excuse me. I think it's over.
- 10:57>> I like when big dudes get big for the
- 10:59first time and they don't know how to
- 11:01act. And then you you know when you know
- 11:03dudes is feeling theirel it's the walk.
- 11:05>> Oh you was the student the dudes with
- 11:07the extra. And I'm like bro I understand
- 11:09you been going Yeah. Yeah. I hate them
- 11:11dudes at the gym. I be like bro I get
- 11:13it. You got your gains. You feeling
- 11:16yourself but you ain't got to do all
- 11:18this. Like you doing too much bro. It's
- 11:20funny though. You got to like cuz you
- 11:21can tell like they're so proud of you.
- 11:23>> Yeah dude. Well, it's like when you get
- 11:25that pump going, you got like a nice
- 11:26pump, dude. You feel like a Super
- 11:27Saiyan.
- 11:28>> Hell yeah. Hell yeah.
- 11:29>> You know, like the veins are popping.
- 11:32>> Hell yeah.
- 11:33>> Muscles are bulking. Yeah. You're like,
- 11:35>> "Hell yourself. Hell yeah." Cuz you see
- 11:37your body transform in front of your
- 11:39eyes. You're like, "Yo, you see what the
- 11:41physicality, you know, the physique is
- 11:42capable of." And it is dope to see it.
- 11:44Just the young ones, they kill me
- 11:46because they're so arrogant. And it's
- 11:47hilarious to me.
- 11:49>> I remember [snorts] that.
- 11:50>> Yeah. Yeah. When the older guys
- 11:53Headphones on, head down.
- 11:54>> Head down. That's it. Yep.
- 11:56>> Straight to work.
- 11:56>> I'm locked in. Yeah.
- 11:57>> Yes, sir.
- 11:58>> I don't give a [ __ ] about anything else.
- 11:59[laughter] Just
- 12:00>> I'm not here. I get mad when dudes talk
- 12:02to me. I be like, "Oh my god." All
- 12:03right. Yeah, man. All right. Cool. All
- 12:04right. Thanks, bro. Like, dudes be
- 12:06wearing, "Oh, nice shirt. Nice." All
- 12:08right, man. Thank you, brother. And then
- 12:10they just stand and like now it takes me
- 12:12out of my set. I'm losing my pump. I'm
- 12:14like,
- 12:14>> bro, you know what I'm saying? Like, and
- 12:16I don't want to be rude. That's why a
- 12:17lot of times I'll have my joys in
- 12:20blasted so I can't hear you. Like you
- 12:22literally got to like physically
- 12:25>> cuz I'm like yo bro I can't because
- 12:26otherwise they people would have flawed
- 12:28conversations about life.
- 12:31>> I don't mind talking occasionally but
- 12:32like
- 12:34>> if someone tries to talk to me during a
- 12:36set
- 12:38>> then I'm like hold on
- 12:40>> just wait kind of thing like that. Wait
- 12:42till I'm done with the set. I'm like
- 12:43lifting some heavy ass weight. I'm like
- 12:45I'm going to [ __ ] hurt myself if
- 12:47>> you keep talking bro I I it's it's
- 12:50etiquette. It's a certificate that I is
- 12:52required especially during set like
- 12:54that's a no no in my opinion like you
- 12:56finish or you like hey brother how many
- 12:57you got because I want you jump that's
- 12:59different I'm like yeah bro I got you or
- 13:01hey yo jump in is cool
- 13:02>> yeah of course yeah I don't mind the
- 13:03workins yeah absolutely
- 13:04>> yeah I don't mind the work but it's just
- 13:05the guys that like they really excited
- 13:08they want to talk and I'm just like all
- 13:10right bro and I'll try to keep it short
- 13:11and respectful but then it's like okay I
- 13:13got I got to go right
- 13:14>> yeah but like you and me are the same
- 13:16kind of boat you know we're wearing like
- 13:17gamer shirts and all that kind of stuff
- 13:19so people are always like dude nice
- 13:20shirt.
- 13:21>> Like I was wearing my Final Fantasy 7
- 13:22remake shirt one time
- 13:24>> and this guy was like, "Dude, nice
- 13:26shirt." He goes, "Look what I'm
- 13:28listening to." He holds up his like
- 13:29phone and he's listening to Wind Winged
- 13:31Angel while he's working out.
- 13:32>> Fire. We going to talk about that.
- 13:34>> I was like, "Holy
- 13:37>> I've never encountered that. That's
- 13:39fire. I've never encountered someone
- 13:41that's like a gamer as far as music is
- 13:44concerned. I've always got the gamers
- 13:46like I'll get the OGs. I'll wear like a
- 13:48Sega or an Atari hat." Yeah.
- 13:50>> And OG's will come up to be like, "Yo,
- 13:51nice hat or whatever." Whatever. You
- 13:53wear a shirt that maybe a gamer, but I
- 13:54guess my gym, I'm sure, these are just
- 13:57hardcore suns out, guns out. They don't
- 14:00>> There ain't really no gamers where I'm
- 14:02at for whatever reason at my gym. So,
- 14:04it's kind of cool that you got to
- 14:05experience that.
- 14:06>> Yeah, my gym's much more It's a big gym.
- 14:08It's not as like I know ex I've seen
- 14:10your gym and I know exactly what the
- 14:11vibe and that kind of gym brings. It's
- 14:14like all business bro dudes that are
- 14:17into super working out. My gym gets
- 14:19people of all
- 14:20>> skill levels and whatever people have
- 14:22been there. So, it's cool. I get a lot
- 14:23of, you know,
- 14:24>> guys are just working out earlier on and
- 14:26stuff like that. You got some really
- 14:28jack dudes though. Don't go don't get me
- 14:30wrong. Hell yeah.
- 14:31>> You got some big boys. Absolutely.
- 14:33>> But mostly Jim has been very good. I
- 14:37haven't had any problems really. I
- 14:39haven't had to say anything to anyone.
- 14:40Thank God. I don't want to be that guy.
- 14:43But I will be that guy if you're being
- 14:46annoying.
- 14:48>> What you do, bro? What's the Brad move?
- 14:49Let me hear it,
- 14:50>> bro. If you don't at least like rack
- 14:52your weights or something like that to
- 14:54like a reasonable level,
- 14:56>> like if you're leaving four [ __ ]
- 14:58plates on each side of a barbell
- 15:00>> and go walk off of the machine,
- 15:02>> just bounce. Just bounce. Yeah,
- 15:04>> that's wild.
- 15:05>> That's a problem. That's a problem.
- 15:06>> That's a problem. They they they have
- 15:08they're very strict on my gym about
- 15:09that. They hate that. Like you get
- 15:11thrown out my gym if you do that. Like
- 15:12it's awesome. I love I love that. And
- 15:14they like the old man he would come
- 15:16down. He would hunt you down. It would
- 15:17be like a gestapo like you didn't rack
- 15:19your weights, bro. Like I love I was
- 15:21like, "Oh, this is the gym for me." Like
- 15:22I was like, "Oh, this is great."
- 15:24>> The the worst though offenders are the
- 15:27guys who try to commandeer multiple
- 15:30machines.
- 15:31>> Oh my god. One machine at a time, dude.
- 15:34>> One at a time. You don't need to set up
- 15:35your little fort, your little shop going
- 15:37on here. Three machines. You put your
- 15:39jacket on one thing, your bag on
- 15:41another. Don't do that, man. [laughter]
- 15:43>> Yeah, don't do that. You do one at a
- 15:45time,
- 15:46>> bro. I'll jump right in there like And
- 15:48then I'll start working out [laughter]
- 15:50and he Oh, bro. I was like, "Oh,
- 15:51[clears throat] yeah. How many you got?"
- 15:51Okay. Cuz I'm working in it. Cuz bro,
- 15:53you cannot commandeer.
- 15:54>> Can't just do that, man.
- 15:55>> The machine's here. Like, nah, bro. I
- 15:58agree with you.
- 15:58>> One machine at a time. So, have good
- 15:59gym, everybody.
- 16:01>> Good. Yeah. Have good gym. That's That's
- 16:03a fact.
- 16:03>> Yeah. And get your asses in there. All
- 16:05right.
- 16:05>> Yes.
- 16:06>> I know it's intimidating,
- 16:07>> but it's all good. No one's judging you.
- 16:10>> Exactly. Everyone's there to get better.
- 16:12>> Absolutely, brother. You already know.
- 16:14>> All right. Hey, this is a video game
- 16:17podcast, everyone. Just in case you

- 16:34temporarily banned.
- 16:35>> It's crazy how there is literally
- 16:36something every week I feel like for
- 16:38that company. Just something at le
- 16:41sprinkle of some sort of drama,
- 16:44something
- 16:45every week. It's good content.
- 16:47>> I'm like jealous, dude. I wish Nintendo
- 16:49was like that, [laughter]
- 16:51>> bro. That's why I say I tell I tell
- 16:53Matt, I like, "Bro, we got to be
- 16:54thankful. Xbox gives us something to
- 16:56talk about every week." Yeah.
- 16:58>> Week, bro. It's always something good,
- 17:00bad, and different.
- 17:01>> Yeah. Yeah. It's frustrating. Like
- 17:03Nintendo, I'm like, "Oh, okay. You guys
- 17:04are just being you're not doing anything
- 17:07crazy yet. Let's go get something.
- 17:10[laughter]
- 17:11>> Get something, guys.
- 17:12>> Fand.
- 17:14>> Also, if you want some merch, go to last
- 17:15day media.store. Micah.
- 17:18>> We'll send it to you from the Mority
- 17:20household. So, help them empty the
- 17:22house, get some space, freed up.
- 17:25>> Uh, there's a Fighting Duke shirt on
- 17:27there as well and a seven one. So, if
- 17:29you want to support us, you can there as
- 17:30well.
- 17:31pair of shoes wrote in said yo Ellis uh
- 17:34the brad gun and the alter's last
- 17:37variable
- 17:39cog uh gets sent on special missions due
- 17:42to the new ninja ninja profession I must
- 17:45wrote ninjutsu the only twist is that
- 17:48both of you have to choose his weapons
- 17:51you have to choose one legit weapon and
- 17:52one detrimental weapon think nunchucks
- 17:55but also having to carry around a pool
- 17:57fun noodle what would you choose for him
- 18:00keep in He is being sent to infiltrate
- 18:02the new Xbox headquarters to confis to
- 18:06confiscate Asha Sharma's top secret Xbox
- 18:08files. Stay cool everyone and hope you
- 18:11all have a fantastic week. Uh, actually
- 18:13it's Xbox at all caps now.
- 18:15>> Yes. Yes. Yes. [laughter]
- 18:18>> You got to make remember that. It's it's
- 18:20it's much more intense now.
- 18:22>> Exactly. Super intense now.
- 18:23>> Yeah. All right, K. We got to pick your
- 18:25one legit ninja weapon, one bad ninja
- 18:28weapon.
- 18:29>> All right. Legit. legit.
- 18:30>> So, as as a resident ninja fan, you
- 18:33know, I mean, you can't go wrong with
- 18:36the traditional katana, obviously, your
- 18:38main sword, your stuff like that.
- 18:40>> Um, but I I'm like a remember ten shoe.
- 18:43I'm a cow cow traps guy.
- 18:46>> You know what I'm saying? Kind of like
- 18:47that.
- 18:48>> You want that as your main weapon.
- 18:49[laughter]
- 18:50>> But remember, we're infiltrating. This
- 18:52is true. You're infiltrating,
- 18:54>> right? Remember, this is we see people
- 18:55don't realize the jitsu is really the
- 18:57art of stealth. not being seen going in.
- 18:59So, we don't want the confrontation.
- 19:01We're trying to avoid. So, we want our
- 19:03little puffs of smokes. We're little cow
- 19:05traps in case people are chasing and
- 19:06following us. Okay.
- 19:07>> You know what I'm saying? Got. So,
- 19:08that's the that's the vibe I'm in. You
- 19:10know what I'm saying? I'm sneaking in.
- 19:11I'm being stealthily kind of thing. So,
- 19:14what are you thinking? What do you
- 19:15think?
- 19:16>> I was thinking for you, Tonfuz.
- 19:19>> Oh, those are fire. I like
- 19:21>> Yeah, basically those batons you kind of
- 19:23hold like that. I can see that.
- 19:24>> Hell yeah. Tonfas are fire. I haven't
- 19:25heard that. izing those forearms right
- 19:27there, too.
- 19:28>> Let's go, baby. Let's go.
- 19:29>> That could be fun. I think the the cow
- 19:32traps is very funny, though. I like
- 19:33that. I mean, you kind of sold me on it
- 19:35cuz you're saying you want to avoid all
- 19:36confrontation pretty much.
- 19:38>> I'm sticking to the mission. They say we
- 19:40got to infiltrate Ash's thing. You know
- 19:41what I mean? I'm trying to be stealthy.
- 19:43You know, [laughter]
- 19:45>> I think one of the like the detrimental
- 19:48thing we could do, I guess you want to
- 19:50be stealthy.
- 19:52Stealth games, distractions.
- 19:56Kazoo. You use a kazoo to maybe lure
- 20:00someone somewhere. A guard.
- 20:03>> I [laughter and gasps] think that the
- 20:04patrol pattern.
- 20:05>> Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 20:08>> All right. I like that. I like that. A
- 20:09wild ass was kind of funny [laughter]
- 20:12with it because it was hilarious to me.
- 20:14But yeah. Yeah. It'll it'll work with
- 20:16detriment because Yeah. It's funny. It's
- 20:18loud and people gonna be like, "What the
- 20:20hell is that?" Exactly. Go towards the
- 20:22noise. Throw it off. facts.
- 20:24>> Oh man, I wonder who's guarding. So I
- 20:27guess it' be Asha guarding the Xbox
- 20:30secret files.
- 20:32>> Her top secret files. Yeah, Asha. You
- 20:34got to go through booty.
- 20:36>> Got to go through booty. Got to get
- 20:37balls in there. I'm saying we got to see
- 20:40Greeny at the front desk. [laughter]
- 20:44We got to stick past marketing. We got
- 20:46We got to get through, man. We got to
- 20:47get to those files.
- 20:48>> Okay. Yeah. I believe it though. I
- 20:49believe it could happen.
- 20:51>> No doubt.
- 20:52>> All right, Cog. So, originally on the
- 20:54show, we were going to have Marco
- 20:56Meatball, but unfortunately, he had to
- 20:57cancel. He has other things that came
- 20:58up. So, we'll try to get him on in the
- 21:00future, though. But for that episode, we
- 21:03were going to have a segment
- 21:06breaking down since Marco is a big music
- 21:09guy
- 21:09>> and I knew Cog was as well. So, I got
- 21:11Cog on originally as well, cuz we were
- 21:12talking about music.
- 21:13>> Mhm.
- 21:14>> We had a thing going on where we were
- 21:15going to list our top five gaming
- 21:17soundtracks, [clears throat]
- 21:20>> and I was like, "Cog, we we got to do it
- 21:21anyway still, you know."
- 21:22>> Hell yeah. Hell yeah.
- 21:23>> Cuz this is just too enticing. I don't
- 21:25think we've ever done something like
- 21:26this on the show gaming soundtracks
- 21:28wise. So,
- 21:28>> hell yeah.
- 21:29>> And I know Cog, like I said, is the big
- 21:31music guy. So, I was dying to know what
- 21:33he would pick.
- 21:34>> Cuz sometimes he throws out like
- 21:36curveballs to me like he's he's jamming
- 21:38to the Shinobi Genesis soundtrack and
- 21:41stuff like that. I'm like, "Okay, this
- 21:42guy this guy's been around the block for
- 21:45a while. He knows."
- 21:46>> Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
- 21:47>> So,
- 21:48>> we will do first, I guess, Cog. We can
- 21:50do some honorable mentions if you want.
- 21:52>> Yes.
- 21:52>> Cuz there's too many.
- 21:53>> There's too many.
- 21:54>> As I was saying to Cog before we started
- 21:56recording, I was like, I don't I was
- 21:57looking at my list and I was like
- 21:59>> constantly just trying to decide if I
- 22:01wanted to flip things around or not.
- 22:03Maybe move some stuff, bump it up, bump
- 22:05it down.
- 22:06>> There's just too much.
- 22:07>> There's too much.
- 22:08>> And I'm looking at my honorable mentions
- 22:09and these were literally things I wrote
- 22:11down in like 15 seconds. I just thought
- 22:13of them really quickly. I didn't think
- 22:14too deeply about it.
- 22:16>> I was like, man, there's just so much
- 22:17good [ __ ] already.
- 22:19so much.
- 22:20>> Cog, let's just do some honorable
- 22:22mentions first. Let's see what you got.
- 22:24>> All right. This is tough because it's
- 22:26almost going to sound sacrilegious to
- 22:27have this as an honorable mention.
- 22:29>> It's it's it's funny. There's too much
- 22:31good stuff.
- 22:32>> It's too much good stuff. And but I I
- 22:34said I cannot do this show with Brad and
- 22:37not mention, you know, especially
- 22:39playing Halo campaign right now. like
- 22:41Halo's theme in that soundtrack. You
- 22:44know,
- 22:44>> you know, I'm I'm a big proponent you're
- 22:46going to see consistently of like
- 22:48>> usually a good sign for a soundtrack is
- 22:50like when the title screen has something
- 22:53so gripping and amazing. And I remember
- 22:55hearing those Gregorian chants
- 22:58iconic.
- 22:59>> What the hell is this? Like my young
- 23:02gamer brain wasn't ready for this level,
- 23:04you know what I'm saying? of fidelity
- 23:06and and sound, you know, kind of thing.
- 23:08And obviously, you know, the classic
- 23:09Halo Thieves
- 23:11>> [clears throat]
- 23:11>> Yeah, it is good,
- 23:12>> bro. So, it it's it's iconic. I want to
- 23:15shout them out. Are we doing a back and
- 23:16forth or you want me to keep going?
- 23:17>> We can do back and forth.
- 23:18>> Let's do back and forth. Let's do back
- 23:19and forth. Yeah. So, what you guys are
- 23:21mentioning,
- 23:22>> first one I have written here is Persona
- 23:245.
- 23:25>> Oo.
- 23:26>> Have you listened to the soundtrack at
- 23:27all?
- 23:28>> Yes, I have.
- 23:28>> Very jazzy, very upbeat.
- 23:31>> Yes.
- 23:31>> Under the mask is like one of the best
- 23:34gaming songs like ever. I just love that
- 23:36song. It relaxes me all the time. It's
- 23:39like the perfect song for exactly what
- 23:40you're doing in that game.
- 23:42>> Oh yeah.
- 23:42>> Just chilling out in your little room
- 23:43and all that kind of stuff. All the
- 23:45tracks in this song have a vibe
- 23:49and I love it. I think it's so good. I
- 23:51do listen to the soundtrack occasionally
- 23:53just throw it on.
- 23:55>> All of these things on my list are like
- 23:57I listen to these
- 23:58>> just on the reg like just freely. So
- 24:01that's how you make it past my my uh
- 24:03>> my call.
- 24:04>> But yeah, Persona 5 incredible
- 24:07soundtrack. Persona, you guys know of
- 24:08course always have good music since
- 24:10three on especially. I don't I don't
- 24:11know about two tune and one. I don't
- 24:12have a lot of experience with them, but
- 24:14three, four, five, incredible
- 24:15soundtracks all with their own vibe
- 24:17style of music they go for. And five
- 24:20really goes for like this more jazzy
- 24:21kind of upbeat vibe that I really like.
- 24:25>> Like three has more of kind of like a
- 24:27hip-hop vibe. Four is like
- 24:31idol vibe, I would like Japanese
- 24:33idol vibe and vibe.
- 24:36>> Just
- 24:37superb. Chef's kiss.
- 24:39>> Check it out if you haven't heard it.
- 24:40>> Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Absolutely.
- 24:42Absolutely.
- 24:43>> All right. All right. What you got?
- 24:44>> So, for another honorable mention, you
- 24:46know, I want to shout out the legendary
- 24:50Zur. You know what I'm saying? He is a
- 24:52person like I said obviously you know
- 24:54when I hum the starfield scenes
- 24:58>> you know so that obviously in Fallout
- 25:01and those kind of things like
- 25:02>> there's a lot that he's done and it's
- 25:05very what I I consider his stuff like
- 25:08>> mood you know what I'm saying like you
- 25:10know what I mean not necessarily like
- 25:12that beat was hot you know but he he's
- 25:15very it's everything about like I play
- 25:16soft or you play Fallout games you play
- 25:18like it's very mood and environment
- 25:21based kind of thing and they're ambient
- 25:24almost in a way. You know what I'm
- 25:25saying? So yeah, for sure. For sure. Got
- 25:28to shout him out. Legend. And yeah, he's
- 25:30doing it a long time. And again, another
- 25:32theme, amazing title screen tracks to
- 25:36really grip you about what you're about
- 25:39to play. And that's why I love this
- 25:40stuff so much.
- 25:41>> So, how many he did? Starfield. He's
- 25:44done many Elder Scrolls games, right?
- 25:47>> Okay.
- 25:47>> Yeah. I think cuz I always confuse it.
- 25:49It's him. I know who you talking about.
- 25:51And then there's if B was here, he'd be
- 25:53strangling me right now. [laughter]
- 25:55I believe the other guy is James Su who
- 25:58does like the the like he did Oblivion's
- 26:00theme, you know what I'm saying? Kind of
- 26:02thing. So I I trust me, I used to get
- 26:03them confused. I mean like so they
- 26:05they're in the same pocket and they all
- 26:07kind of do the same thing. But like
- 26:09yeah, I wanted to show you know
- 26:11specifically because he's his resume is
- 26:14even bigger than what I've given credit
- 26:15for. Just the stuff that I've come in
- 26:17contact with him and what I've known him
- 26:19for is really cool. So yeah, I wanted to
- 26:21shout about that.
- 26:21>> Okay.
- 26:22>> Mhm.
- 26:22>> Next for me.
- 26:24>> Yes. What you got?
- 26:24>> This one felt bad to cut.
- 26:27>> All right. What you got?
- 26:28>> I was like [sighs]
- 26:30Near Automata.
- 26:32>> Oh, that [ __ ] good.
- 26:33>> Yeah, it near Automata is a very special
- 26:37game.
- 26:38>> Mhm.
- 26:38>> Especially if you don't know anything
- 26:39about it. If you go into that game
- 26:41blind,
- 26:42>> it's I mean it's an old game at this
- 26:43point. It's been talked about to death.
- 26:45Everyone loves it, me included.
- 26:48But this soundtrack
- 26:51is so
- 26:53melancholic.
- 26:54>> Mhm. [clears throat]
- 26:55>> But it's also it's weird. So it's very
- 26:58like kind of sad sounding,
- 27:00>> but
- 27:02you can see the beauty in at the same
- 27:04time.
- 27:05>> I guess it's kind of like a thing with
- 27:06Near the game itself. It's like this is
- 27:08a lot of depressing ass [ __ ] Yep.
- 27:10>> There's a lot of like beauty
- 27:12and things that make me happy when I
- 27:14just think about it.
- 27:16>> It's really weird. This whole soundtrack
- 27:18makes me feel when I first heard it, it
- 27:21made me feel nostalgic somehow. The
- 27:23first time I heard it, it just gives me
- 27:25that sensation of something like that.
- 27:27>> Like you feel good and happy, but there
- 27:30is like some sort of lingering sadness
- 27:32the entire way throughout.
- 27:35>> Hell yeah. And I think that is just the
- 27:37game itself and the soundtrack like
- 27:39perfectly encapsulates that entire
- 27:41feeling.
- 27:42>> And there are just I forgot who the
- 27:43singer is on this but there are just
- 27:44gorgeous vocals on this soundtrack too.
- 27:47It's incredible. Highly recommend it.
- 27:49Obviously play the game if you haven't
- 27:51as well
- 27:52>> because it ties in it works super well
- 27:54into the game.
- 27:56>> Salute. Salute. Yeah. I think I was just
- 27:58looking through my honorable mentions
- 27:59right now because everything that was
- 28:01pretty much ready to get into it. Yeah.
- 28:02But there there's like a couple of games
- 28:04I don't know if they like
- 28:07worthy of that. Like now I'm going to
- 28:09make my cuts now. I'm going to get into
- 28:11my list because my list is different.
- 28:12You're going to see that's probably the
- 28:14last of my mention cuz my my main you're
- 28:16going to see it's it's very more
- 28:19intricate. So yeah, that's probably the
- 28:21last of my
- 28:22>> Okay. Um I have some where I'll just
- 28:24rapid fire them. But I will say on my
- 28:26list I only have one per franchise game.
- 28:28I don't have multiple franchises or
- 28:30games from a franchise. So, okay,
- 28:32>> got to make some cuts,
- 28:33>> but I'll list them here.
- 28:35>> Okay,
- 28:35>> ChronoCross right away.
- 28:38>> Banger soundtrack.
- 28:39>> Banger.
- 28:41>> Gameplay gamewise, I don't like as much
- 28:44as Chrono Trigger.
- 28:45>> Yeah, Trigger's the goat.
- 28:46>> But banger soundtrack once again though.
- 28:49Incredible.
- 28:50>> Chrono Cross. Okay,
- 28:51>> Final Fantasy 9, my second favorite
- 28:54Final Fantasy. Incredible soundtrack. Of
- 28:57course, you know the boy, your boy out
- 28:58there, Mumasu making that.
- 29:00>> Salute. Absolute
- 29:01>> Final Fantasy 14, not so much, but other
- 29:06great people like Sokun on there.
- 29:08>> Super Mario 64. Love that [ __ ]
- 29:10soundtrack.
- 29:11>> Of course,
- 29:12>> that soundtrack goes hard. Super Mario
- 29:13Galaxy as well.
- 29:15>> Mhm.
- 29:15>> Dragon Quest 8, my beloved.
- 29:18I That is I keep the CD of that in my
- 29:22car and that's the only CD I
- 29:24>> Okay. Is that soundtrack? That's the
- 29:26only one. [laughter]
- 29:27>> All right. All right. Katamari Damasi.
- 29:31Incredible soundtrack that takes that
- 29:35game to a whole another level.
- 29:38Incredibly diverse as well.
- 29:40>> Mhm.
- 29:41>> And finally, I just wrote Donkey Kong
- 29:42Country 1, two, three.
- 29:44>> Okay. No, no, I get all great. All
- 29:47great.
- 29:48>> All right.
- 29:48>> I just thought I just thought of a few
- 29:50real quick.
- 29:50>> Oh, yeah. Rapid fire. Go for it.
- 29:51>> All right. Cuz now you you take you you
- 29:53got to sit out. Just fire it. All right.
- 29:55I would say cuz this is a second kid
- 29:56getting into me. Uh the Fantasy Star.
- 29:59>> Fantasy Star 2. Oh my god, I love
- 30:02Fantasy Star. And
- 30:04>> it is some of the best uh some of the
- 30:06best boss music encounters when you
- 30:08fight Dark Force. I thought I forgot
- 30:09about that. That was huge to me. Going
- 30:11back to my Sega arcade days, I would say
- 30:14>> surprisingly like Outr Run and Hang On.
- 30:16Um Outr Run specifically was the first
- 30:17game where I ever seen you actually
- 30:19change the music in a game. And uh the
- 30:21soundtrack, what is it? Musical Sound
- 30:23Shower is one of that's goed. That track
- 30:25is like a it's like a h it's a happy
- 30:28Caribbean kind of thing going on. It's
- 30:30it's a vibe. So, shout out to Outrun and
- 30:33of course Arcade
- 30:35Shinobi.
- 30:36>> I love the I'm still to this day trying
- 30:39to find that component.
- 30:42I mean, he's done other things, but he
- 30:44did stuff with the Sister 661, but that
- 30:46particular uh tracks on that game,
- 30:49especially stage three, the boss stage
- 30:51and um you know, the first stage iconic.
- 30:54The only person I've seen remixed it is
- 30:55T Lopes who did uh Art of Vengeance. But
- 30:58like I would love to like if anyone's
- 31:00ever like interviewed F I've never like
- 31:03does this man is this man still alive?
- 31:05[laughter] Like like I would love to
- 31:06know the history of the arcade Shinobi's
- 31:10>> uh soundtrack cuz that is [snorts] it's
- 31:11a it is dope and they they had that
- 31:13sound chip rock. I still don't know how
- 31:15they were able to get sound that good
- 31:17sound out of that that board back there.
- 31:19But yeah, so shout out to them for sure.
- 31:20I want to shout those honorable mentions
- 31:22out. All right.
- 31:24>> Um, let's do number five. Cog, let's
- 31:26start with you as well. Let's keep it
- 31:27going.
- 31:27>> Let's go. All right. So, this one
- 31:29obviously is going for every should be
- 31:31on everyone's list, but it's the
- 31:32newcomer. It's the newcomer. And
- 31:35>> it's just too impactful with Expedition
- 31:3733. It it just it just, you know, um,
- 31:41you know, it's funny cuz I know we
- 31:42supposed to have Marco. I was going to
- 31:43talk to about it because I I seen a
- 31:45video [laughter] in reference to it and
- 31:46he kind of spoke to the same emotions I
- 31:48did. I think for me though, it's
- 31:50different. The track everyone I think
- 31:51likes is like I know what everyone else
- 31:54likes. For me it's the Gustaf track.
- 31:58>> The Gustaf track is a very somber theme
- 32:02and you feel a lot of that motif
- 32:05throughout the beginning of the game.
- 32:07You see these little uh snippets of it
- 32:09and it's a very it kind of it reminds me
- 32:12of the Gage. It reminds me of how sad
- 32:15this world is. kind of what you alluded
- 32:16to earlier, like you know, it's there's
- 32:18a little bit of hope, but this is a
- 32:20really dark world and I love that theme.
- 32:24So, yeah, Expedition 33 with that. And
- 32:26then I would say, like I said,
- 32:27>> this is going to be a franchise cuz with
- 32:28them, you know what I'm saying? I would
- 32:29say obviously the Alicia title screen.
- 32:31Amazing. We we know what that is. You
- 32:33know how you booted that up.
- 32:35>> And um funny one that people don't talk
- 32:38about is the um the Lumair. It's called
- 32:42In Lum's name. So it's whenever you
- 32:45fight the mimes.
- 32:47>> Mhm.
- 32:48>> That's a J. That's a vibe. That beat
- 32:50when you fight the vines, they come out.
- 32:53>> Yo, that joint is is dope, man. So yeah,
- 32:55I want to shout that game. Wow. I know
- 32:58Addict likes um when you there's one
- 33:01when you return back to Lumir towards
- 33:03the end of the game. That's sick.
- 33:04Obviously, everyone likes the world map.
- 33:06I mean, it's just so much, right? It
- 33:09just but it's you can't whatever Laurian
- 33:12just the fact that they found this guy
- 33:13to start and then the singer she's oh my
- 33:16god
- 33:16>> yeah she's great
- 33:17>> she's amazing like I get emotional when
- 33:19I hear her say all the time it's it's
- 33:21amazing so yeah expedition 33 is golded
- 33:25in this short time and it's on my like
- 33:27my number five so to speak list
- 33:29>> yeah I wonder about like their next game
- 33:30which I assume will be clear obscure
- 33:32something it'll be like their version of
- 33:34Final Fantasy is my guess if the
- 33:37soundtrack will kind of have like the
- 33:39same vibe like the soundtrack for this
- 33:41game uh from what I recall is like very
- 33:44like strings orchestral and with like
- 33:47the singer stuff like that. I wonder if
- 33:48they'll do that same kind of vibe again
- 33:49or if he'll like really switch it up.
- 33:51I'm not really sure. Hard to say, but it
- 33:53is exciting.
- 33:54>> Yeah,
- 33:55>> very very exciting.
- 33:57>> They're in an interesting spot to see
- 33:58where they go with it. Yeah, cuz I mean
- 33:59it it's one of the most amazing debuts.
- 34:03Like I almost feel bad for them. The
- 34:05pressure that the bar has been set so
- 34:06high. Can they realistically even match
- 34:09what they've already done? Cuz it's that
- 34:11amazing.
- 34:12>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:14All right. Uh for me, number five,
- 34:16>> what you got?
- 34:18>> Ocarina of Time.
- 34:20>> Of course. Of course. Of course.
- 34:22>> An iconic soundtrack that lives rentree
- 34:26>> in many people's heads, including mine.
- 34:28Of course. Composed by Koji Condo, who
- 34:32made the Mario theme.
- 34:37He's back
- 34:39>> and making more iconic songs that still
- 34:42live throughout the Zelda franchise
- 34:44today.
- 34:46>> The title theme, if you remember the
- 34:48beginning, the opening with Link riding
- 34:50on his horse with the Pona.
- 34:51>> Oh yeah,
- 34:54>> the moon. The moon coming up. The
- 34:56ocarina comes in.
- 34:59Oh my god, what a title screen. Sick. Of
- 35:03course, Zelda's theme, iconic as well.
- 35:06>> Hell yeah.
- 35:06>> Long Ranch.
- 35:10Yep. Lost Woods, a a fan favorite from
- 35:14everybody.
- 35:15>> Gerudo Valley, kicking that little
- 35:17Spanish guitar going in there.
- 35:19>> Spanish joint. Yeah, that was fire. That
- 35:21was fire. I like that.
- 35:22>> Uh, Zora's Domain, incredible song as
- 35:25well. Just perfect music for every
- 35:29single area. perfectly captures the vibe
- 35:32of it and sells it and just enhances
- 35:34everything.
- 35:35>> There is nothing negative about the
- 35:36soundtrack. It does everything exactly
- 35:39as it should in this game. Of course,
- 35:41it's not as sophisticated as a lot of
- 35:44other songs cuz, you know, it's made on
- 35:45N64 cartridge, but for how good the
- 35:50songs are on that thing is incredible.
- 35:53And just how if you play these songs to
- 35:56people now, instantly recognizable.
- 35:59You're gonna have you're gonna have
- 36:00grown ass men shedding tears.
- 36:03>> Oh, that's that's definitely grown.
- 36:04Yeah, grown man tears on that for sure.
- 36:06What?
- 36:07>> Yeah,
- 36:08>> I can read it, bro.
- 36:08>> You're done.
- 36:09>> Hell yeah.
- 36:10>> All right,
- 36:11>> number four. Cog, what do you got?
- 36:12>> Number four, bro. I think you'll
- 36:15appreciate this.
- 36:16>> Okay,
- 36:17>> Final Fantasy 7.
- 36:19>> Oh, yes, I do.
- 36:20>> 7. Yeah, man. Bro, I'll never forget
- 36:23like, bro, let's start early. Let the
- 36:26battles begin.
- 36:31Like, yeah,
- 36:32>> that goes so hard.
- 36:34>> And I like the
- 36:39it gives like like that's me doing the
- 36:41summon. I'm like, oh, I'm I'm I'm
- 36:43basically it's giving you hope. You're
- 36:45about to unleash all your powerful stuff
- 36:47to fight whatever you're fighting cuz
- 36:48you're in it. Like, I love that theme.
- 36:51Let the battles begin is to me beating
- 36:53the odds and it it it reminds me of
- 36:56doing a summon for the first time and my
- 36:58my little cog's mind was blown. I'm like
- 37:01video games can do this. Like this is
- 37:03amazing.
- 37:04>> You know what I'm saying?
- 37:05>> We're older so it's hard to like
- 37:07emphasize how mind-blowing visually that
- 37:10game was when it came out. What people
- 37:13have no idea like it
- 37:14>> I told you it made my hardcore dude bros
- 37:19who all they played was like you know
- 37:22what I'm saying batted and they were
- 37:24like what's that they wanted to know
- 37:25what a JP was they wanted to play that
- 37:29>> so yes so I want to say the bad again um
- 37:31come on I mean
- 37:33>> one winged angel come on
- 37:35>> oh yeah just incredible
- 37:38>> incredible
- 37:40I was Like what is going on? And his
- 37:43name is in the song. Sepharov's name is
- 37:46in the song. Sephro like bro, the
- 37:49buildup, the orchestra, the just it's
- 37:52just so much going on. And what's my man
- 37:54name? Noble. Oh my god.
- 37:57>> Legendary. You know what I'm saying?
- 37:59Like that that is one of the most iconic
- 38:01boss themes I've ever heard. Like for
- 38:03sure. And then I want to give a
- 38:05honorable mention as far as Final
- 38:06Fantasy 7 being wearing that that pocket
- 38:08with the remake. Um there's a track that
- 38:12that'll get a lot of attention that I
- 38:13love.
- 38:15>> So if part one remake uh Corno's
- 38:18Coliseum, Cornelo's Coliseum.
- 38:20>> Mhm.
- 38:20>> Um it's you kind of waiting before you
- 38:22go in and you're getting you're staging.
- 38:25>> Yeah. Yeah.
- 38:26>> Yeah. That it is it goes so hard that
- 38:29beat right there. Yeah. Put in Cornelo
- 38:31Coliseum. Y'all listen to that track. It
- 38:34goes super hard. And then there's one
- 38:36that um when they're in the underground,
- 38:38man, you keep bumping into those dudes.
- 38:40You know those goons? You know the
- 38:42goons?
- 38:43>> I know the goons. Yeah,
- 38:44>> they're clowns. And you we always wreck
- 38:46them every time.
- 38:47>> Yes.
- 38:48>> But yeah, but leading when you that
- 38:50domain area where they are underground,
- 38:54you know, when you first encounter
- 38:55there's a theme.
- 38:56>> I know exactly what you're talking
- 38:57about. I don't know what it's called,
- 38:58but I can
- 38:59>> It's got like scratching and remixing
- 39:01and stuff going on.
- 39:03>> Dude, those snow tracks are so good,
- 39:04man. Bro, that joint is a vibe, son. So,
- 39:08yeah, man. That whatever that theme is,
- 39:09it it goes so Yeah,
- 39:12>> there it is.
- 39:14>> Let's go. Hell yeah. So, yeah, I want to
- 39:17give Final Fantasy 7 all all the praise.
- 39:21There's more tracks obviously,
- 39:22>> but I was just talking the ones that
- 39:24kind of for whatever reason always and
- 39:26also um even like the Makeo reactor just
- 39:29like you know.
- 39:29>> Oh my god. Yeah.
- 39:31>> Yeah. Like when you when you go in
- 39:32deeper deeper and it's a very odd
- 39:34>> unsettling.
- 39:35>> Yeah. It's unsettling.
- 39:38>> Mhm.
- 39:40>> Like I'm like oh like what's about to
- 39:42happen? You know what I'm saying? Like
- 39:43kind of tense.
- 39:45>> Yeah. It's very tense. Yes. Yes. Cuz the
- 39:47merc you don't know what's going on.
- 39:48Barrett's there. I love it. So salute to
- 39:50Final Fantasy 7. That's that's
- 39:52definitely a list.
- 39:52>> All right. You know I love that pick.
- 39:54>> Let's go.
- 39:55>> Number four for me.
- 39:56>> Mhm.
- 39:57>> Chrono Trigger. Oh, Golden Ivantis would
- 40:00love you right now.
- 40:01>> Gasori Mitsuda, composer. I brought up
- 40:04Chronocross earlier.
- 40:06>> The Chrono Trigger soundtrack is
- 40:11when I think about it, I'm like, this
- 40:13this is like literally perfect. It's
- 40:16like you have done incredible work. And
- 40:20I'm going to get right here. I love the
- 40:21SNES sound chip or whatever they had in
- 40:23that thing.
- 40:25>> Sounds so good. So good. I was made fun
- 40:28of the Sega one compared to it.
- 40:30>> Shout out to Streets of Rage, though.
- 40:31They can do some good [ __ ] I'm not
- 40:33saying there's there's some great Sega
- 40:34tracks,
- 40:35>> bro. Don't get me wrong, you talking
- 40:37real console war 16bit console war
- 40:40stuff. But you preaching to the soul
- 40:42because real ones know any Sega kid
- 40:44would admit it.
- 40:46>> When we heard the SNEDS sound chip,
- 40:48>> we were like, "Our chip don't sound like
- 40:50that."
- 40:51>> Yeah.
- 40:52>> We was like smart box on the Genesis.
- 40:55Yeah, [laughter]
- 40:56everything is that
- 40:57>> it was
- 40:59>> only a few was able to maximize a little
- 41:01bit just but on their best day a true
- 41:04second kid will admit the yes sound chip
- 41:07was just next level.
- 41:09>> But I'm I was like thinking about it
- 41:11last night and I was just looking or I
- 41:13was like on YouTube just kind of
- 41:14flipping through the soundtrack and I
- 41:16was like the main theme a banger
- 41:18immediately right off the bat just the
- 41:20gate sets the tone for that game. It
- 41:23just screams that main theme to me. Cog
- 41:25adventure
- 41:26>> and I'm like this is exactly what you
- 41:28need to do. The beginning of that game,
- 41:31>> peaceful days, of course. Memories of
- 41:33green,
- 41:35>> the wind scene,
- 41:37>> secrets of the forest, I love as well.
- 41:40Frogs theme. Frog's my boy.
- 41:44>> Yeah. Holding up the sword and all that
- 41:45[ __ ] dude. That gets me hyped.
- 41:49Let's go. The trial. Mhm.
- 41:52>> When you're, you know, of course, going
- 41:53through the trial, the music that's
- 41:54playing there is so good.
- 41:57>> I wrote this twice. I wrote this is
- 41:59like, this song is the goat probably for
- 42:01Chrono Trigger. Corridors of Time.
- 42:04>> I wrote it I wrote Quarters of Time that
- 42:06I wrote again and I wrote in all caps
- 42:07for some reason.
- 42:09>> But Corridors of Time is like
- 42:12I'm going to show someone a song from
- 42:13Chrono Trigger. I'd put this on.
- 42:15Especially when this song plays in the
- 42:18game.
- 42:20>> It's kind of like a feeling you haven't
- 42:21gotten throughout the entire thing. Like
- 42:23this vast feeling of wonder.
- 42:26>> Mhm.
- 42:27>> It feels like, you know, it's like those
- 42:28moments in games when you step out like
- 42:30let's say Breath of the Wild, you know,
- 42:31you walk out,
- 42:33>> finally get out of the shrine, you see
- 42:34all of Hyrule, you're like, whoa.
- 42:36>> That everyone likes to do. It's like the
- 42:37vault 101 moment for a lot of people and
- 42:39stuff like that.
- 42:40>> Yes. But just this Chrono Trigger moment
- 42:42and this is like a Super Nintendo game,
- 42:44but you just see the landscape and where
- 42:46you're at. You're like, "Whoa, this is
- 42:49crazy." And this this song's playing.
- 42:51I'm getting like chills just thinking
- 42:53about it. It's so incredible.
- 42:57>> Get get like put this makes me mad when
- 42:59I just think about Coron Trigger. Just
- 43:02Why is there not like a proper port for
- 43:03this on everything?
- 43:04>> I Bro, that's what I waited for. I told
- 43:06I totally bo I'm like when are they
- 43:07pointing your drink? Cuz I don't want to
- 43:09play you. I want to I want them to
- 43:11really focus on it. I it it you guys are
- 43:14the most ravenous fans.
- 43:16>> Mhm.
- 43:17>> And I'm like, why is it dishonored? You
- 43:19know what I mean? Like it's just I
- 43:22Yeah, the Chrono Trigger fans go so hard
- 43:24and it's just so frustrating. Is it a
- 43:27license? Like what is the issue?
- 43:28>> I think that might be some of it with
- 43:30cuz I believe Tolli is involved because
- 43:33of Akira Toriyama who died of course all
- 43:36the character design stuff like that.
- 43:37So, I think that could be a thing. There
- 43:39is a PC port of the game.
- 43:42>> Mhm.
- 43:42>> Which is okay.
- 43:43>> Yeah.
- 43:44>> So, I mean, I've played through it and
- 43:45it's it's fine,
- 43:46>> but I it does annoy me that Chrono
- 43:49Trigger is not available on everything
- 43:51for cuz a lot of people haven't played
- 43:53it
- 43:54>> and it's just like such a beloved game.
- 43:56It's such a brisk RPG as well.
- 44:00>> It's a shorter one, but it feels
- 44:02extremely complete and satisfying when
- 44:04you get it. Incredible game. the Dream
- 44:07Team, you know.
- 44:08>> Um, it had uh Why can't I think of all
- 44:11the guys names, but it was like a
- 44:12collaboration, I think. Um, I'm going to
- 44:14look this up just because I don't want
- 44:15to like someone. It was this. So, I'm
- 44:16going to look at this really quick
- 44:18>> before I forget it all.
- 44:20>> Absolutely. Professional podcast. That's
- 44:22what we do.
- 44:22>> Yeah.
- 44:23>> You know what I'm saying?
- 44:24>> Cuz I just want to make sure it's the
- 44:25people I'm thinking of.
- 44:26>> Absolutely.
- 44:27>> Okay. Hi Sakaguchi. I was thinking of
- 44:29that, right? creator of Final Fantasy,
- 44:31Yugji Hori, the creator of Dragon Quest,
- 44:35>> and Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon
- 44:37Ball
- 44:38>> back then.
- 44:39>> Back then, that's luminaries getting
- 44:41together to do something special.
- 44:43>> So, you got three goats right away
- 44:45teaming up to make a dream project
- 44:47>> and it lived up to the hype. So,
- 44:52>> what else can I say, man? It's just a
- 44:54timeless classic.
- 44:57>> Hell yeah. Hell yeah. That's sick. Sick.
- 44:59No, I love it. I mean, that's a great
- 45:00choice. Can't can't deny that one. It's
- 45:02impactful for me. We up to three now,
- 45:04right?
- 45:05>> Yes. Three.
- 45:06>> So, three. This is again no surprise for
- 45:08those who know me.
- 45:10>> The Destiny series, bro.
- 45:12>> Destiny. You like that Paul McCartney
- 45:15song.
- 45:15>> Listen, Paul McCartney go listen, I got
- 45:17to get it goes hard. I got to shout out
- 45:19to him and Marty McDonald. You know what
- 45:21I'm saying? Um, Odonaldo. He he again
- 45:24the music of the spheres it you know as
- 45:26a person who loves space a person who
- 45:28loves the idea of the great frontier
- 45:30what's out there kind of energy it did
- 45:32give that sense of wonder like okay what
- 45:34is happening out there but then you had
- 45:35specific theme stuff like the cabal
- 45:38stomp and and stuff like that for
- 45:39certain planets to give you an idea of
- 45:41each race your faction right kind of
- 45:44thing but I have to admit this is going
- 45:46to sound controversial because I know
- 45:48Marty's beloved and he's a legend but
- 45:51I'm more of Michael Salvatorei, Skyluen,
- 45:54Destiny 2 guys, and I feel they they in
- 45:58my humble opinion, again, those are
- 46:00classics what Marty did, but Destiny 2
- 46:03soundtracks,
- 46:05man, there are some I will say this,
- 46:09Marty may have the better collection as
- 46:11an album, but as far as individual
- 46:15tracks throughout the history of Destiny
- 46:17since,
- 46:18>> I feel that Dave's got stuff that he
- 46:20that he can't Marty can't mess So, the
- 46:22ones that stand out for me, for those
- 46:24who know, um, it's called Deep Stone
- 46:26Lullabi. This is one of the most
- 46:29beautiful
- 46:31tracks. You're in the Deep Stone Crypt
- 46:33Raid. You just fight this crazy
- 46:34encounter. You come out the raid and the
- 46:36the b the the whole theme is you're in
- 46:39this space station, right? You step out
- 46:42into space. The game goes into space and
- 46:46it is the most beautiful
- 46:50>> emotional
- 46:52track I have heard where you feel some
- 46:55it is it is gorgeous like this track
- 46:58>> this is a classy joint I'm listening to
- 47:00>> oh Deep Stone Lullabi takes you
- 47:02somewhere and it it's again one of the
- 47:05most special things my one of my
- 47:06personal favorite a lot of this is raid
- 47:08themed you're going to see cuz raids
- 47:09really take a lot out of you so you
- 47:11appreciate it more Um it's the name of
- 47:14is called um the shell of what's been.
- 47:17And you fought this dragon. Her name is
- 47:19Riven. And you've killed the dragon. And
- 47:21now you come out with the heart. And the
- 47:24mission's not over. You thought you
- 47:25killed you slayed the great beast, but
- 47:26it's not over. You had to escape with
- 47:28this beating heart. And it's this really
- 47:32tense ramp up guitar riff kind of.
- 47:38My Destiny fans, y'all know what I'm
- 47:39talking about. and it goes so hard. Like
- 47:43that's what And then like I said,
- 47:44Destiny's giving me a lot of rock vibes
- 47:47too or certain things. You know what I'm
- 47:48saying? So you got that. Um I would say
- 47:50I would have to say Shadow Thief is up
- 47:52there. A very classic theme. And for my
- 47:54hardcore really super rock, super it's
- 47:58called Sepix Redux. Um Ebonsis, if
- 48:01you're listening, I know this is your
- 48:02favorite track. Um bro, again, just
- 48:06energetic. Um you know, balls to the
- 48:09wall. We're fighting, you know what I'm
- 48:11saying? This crazy, you know, uh, fallen
- 48:15scepter thing. It, bro, Destiny has so
- 48:17many then just in sitting in in space in
- 48:20the title screen, you know, very the
- 48:22somber stuff from Destiny 2's campaign.
- 48:25>> I could go on about Destiny, but Dest
- 48:27that's the reason why it it hurts so
- 48:29much that it's gone. You know what I'm
- 48:31saying? Because I could, this is going
- 48:33really corny, but I could listen to
- 48:34Destiny music and it really, it'll take
- 48:36me exactly to the place, what I was
- 48:38doing, the encounter I was at, and I'll
- 48:40get emotional. I'll tear up. Like,
- 48:41that's the power of Destiny's music. And
- 48:44I'm just like, god damn it. [laughter]
- 48:47You sit there, you're like, man, this
- 48:49this is special right here. So, yeah,
- 48:51that's that's that's what that's how
- 48:53>> here, man. That's good.
- 48:54>> Hell yeah. Hell yeah.
- 48:55>> All right.
- 48:56>> Three for me.
- 48:57>> Let's go.
- 48:59Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Oh,
- 49:02>> SA love you right now.
- 49:04>> Class etiquette.
- 49:07>> A higher standard. This makes me feel
- 49:10like an aristocrat when I listen to
- 49:12this.
- 49:13>> Hell yeah. Let's go.
- 49:16>> Dance of Gold is a song early on in the
- 49:18game and it is just you are in this like
- 49:21laboratory kind of thing going on.
- 49:23Dracula's laboratory going in there. The
- 49:26game starts off rocking. If you remember
- 49:28the beginning of the game, have you
- 49:29played three civia tonight?
- 49:30>> I have. I was forced.
- 49:32>> Okay. You're forced
- 49:33>> for solving
- 49:35all of you need to play it. I'm like,
- 49:37all right, bro. I was like, oh my god,
- 49:39this is beautiful.
- 49:40>> Yes, it is a beautiful game.
- 49:42>> Beautiful. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely.
- 49:44>> But, you know, the game begins. You bust
- 49:46in Dracula's Castle Alakard. You are
- 49:48just chopping dudes down. There's like a
- 49:49rocking guitar going on and all that
- 49:51kind of stuff.
- 49:52>> Mhm. You run into death, strips you of
- 49:54all your stuff, your gear, back to
- 49:56square one with Alikard punching [ __ ]
- 49:59>> The first like area you go into is kind
- 50:01of this alchemy lab and you get this
- 50:04waltz that kicks in
- 50:06>> and just sets this tone because you know
- 50:09Dracula is an evil demon who is a
- 50:11[ __ ] psychopath and he will tear you
- 50:14limp for limb, but he is an aristocrat
- 50:17also at the same time. He loves the
- 50:18finer things in life as well. He's a
- 50:21he's a man/demon of science as well. And
- 50:25when this song kind of just kicks in,
- 50:28it sets the tone for the rest of the
- 50:29game of just you knowing you are going
- 50:31to be in this nightmare scenario, but
- 50:34there's going to be beauty and elegance.
- 50:38Beauty and elegance throughout the
- 50:39entire thing, just like Dracula, that's
- 50:41what he likes. And that is
- 50:42>> true here. Mhm.
- 50:44>> I think that song wood carving uh
- 50:46Patricia, not Patricia, Patita,
- 50:50>> uh just with this amazing harps accord
- 50:52kicks off the joint. I love a harps
- 50:54accord. [laughter]
- 50:55>> I love a harpsicord.
- 50:57>> Shout out to the harps accord. I'm a big
- 50:59fan.
- 51:00>> Marble gallery.
- 51:02>> Let's go.
- 51:04>> Just a a banger.
- 51:06>> Prayer, which is kind of like the file
- 51:08select music, is just this woman singing
- 51:10and that's it.
- 51:11>> It's just her. It is so hauntingly
- 51:14chilling every time. They use it
- 51:15throughout Castlevania games as well.
- 51:17>> Okay.
- 51:18>> But it's incredible. Crystal teardrops
- 51:20when you're just like in these like dark
- 51:22caves.
- 51:24>> Got this really nice jazzy piano going
- 51:27the whole time. It's really weird. It's
- 51:29like I'm in this terrifying location.
- 51:32>> Mhm.
- 51:32>> But the beat is just too good.
- 51:34>> Too good.
- 51:35>> You're still kind of like just bobbing
- 51:36your head to it.
- 51:37>> Hell yeah.
- 51:38>> Uh let me see here. Lost Painting, of
- 51:41course. I think that's the the other uh
- 51:44harps accord jam that I'm super into.
- 51:47>> And Wandering Ghost starts off very
- 51:48eerie, these ghostly sounds. Then you
- 51:52get this really like
- 51:56and it's just so [ __ ] good. This
- 51:58soundtrack is incredible front to back.
- 52:02>> I will never stop loving you, Symphony
- 52:04Night soundtrack or Symphony Night in
- 52:05general. It's just too damn good. It's
- 52:08incredible and it makes me feel fancy
- 52:10and that's a good thing. [laughter]
- 52:13>> I like that. I like that. We all need to
- 52:14feel bougie and feel bougie once in a
- 52:16while. Hell
- 52:17>> yeah. Now this one for me, number two,
- 52:21um this is where I really discovered my
- 52:25techno and EDM kind of pocket.
- 52:29>> Um the Tekken series as a whole.
- 52:32>> Oh, Tekken. Yeah,
- 52:33>> Tekken is just man the first Tekken.
- 52:37Yeah, not so much. But Tekken 2 probably
- 52:40started and then there's a couple I
- 52:41remember the Paul Felix theme. It was a
- 52:43vibe. I'm like, "Okay, cool. This is
- 52:44this is cool." Like fighting music you
- 52:46could bounce to. That's how that's how
- 52:48Tekken was. But for me, I'll never
- 52:50forget Tekken 3.
- 52:53>> I this music, this character's track
- 52:57made me love the character. He became my
- 52:59friend, which was Water Egg. Hooray. It
- 53:02was the most vi again. It was a It was
- 53:04It was upbeat. It was techno. the
- 53:06guitar. Whoever did the guitar on this
- 53:10song, this is legendary.
- 53:14Like I was like, when that beat would
- 53:15come on on his stage in front of the
- 53:18dojo, I'm like, that's my favorite
- 53:20character. I was like I cuz I it would
- 53:21get me excited. It like when I hear that
- 53:24beat, I have to defeat you. Like I
- 53:26cannot take him off because
- 53:27>> that's the best feeling. Yeah.
- 53:28>> Yeah. It's just that. So I would say
- 53:30that um now I want to give out a Tekken
- 53:32tag
- 53:34>> PlayStation version specifically.
- 53:38>> They got some bangers, bro. They got
- 53:40This is where they really started to get
- 53:41Eric experimental
- 53:43and they started to put they do the
- 53:45technos, they did the vibes, but they
- 53:48would put vocals or synth stuff in it,
- 53:50right? So Yoshi Ritzy stage is a
- 53:53classic. So basically he's like a a
- 53:56ninja, right? But during the beat is
- 53:58this crazy beat, right? Right. And it's
- 53:59sick. It's dark. You're in a forest.
- 54:01You're fighting this ninja. Right.
- 54:03>> And while it's going on, it's like no
- 54:05eyes, no ears, no m I'm like, "What is
- 54:08[laughter] going on?" Like, and you hear
- 54:09this synth verse. No eyes, no ear. I'm
- 54:12like, but the when the beat hit
- 54:15you like, yo, [screaming]
- 54:17like Tekken is like, "We're going to the
- 54:20rave tonight. [laughter] We're going to
- 54:22the rave. It's going down.
- 54:24>> It's going to be like a Blade intro from
- 54:26the Blade movies." Like the intro. It's
- 54:28>> Thank you. You know what I'm talking
- 54:29about. You know that, bro. You me and
- 54:31you were in the same pocket. Now
- 54:33>> that that's that was the pocket I was in
- 54:35because I remember you you said it
- 54:36perfectly.
- 54:37>> Blade walks into the club.
- 54:39>> You thinking everything's cool. I mean
- 54:40the the you know the people that they
- 54:42caught in the the victims
- 54:44>> and then he realizes it's a vampire club
- 54:46and the rain starts coming down.
- 54:48>> Starts rain down.
- 54:49>> Huge Tekken soundtrack.
- 54:51>> Tech. That's Tekken. That's Tekken
- 54:52[laughter] right there. So I would say
- 54:54that. Um and then I would say a couple
- 54:56album mentions. Tekken Tag 2's uh Jin
- 54:59theme is goated
- 55:01>> guitar riffs crazy upbeat.
- 55:04>> Now Tekken 8.
- 55:07Wow. They got some joints. I would say
- 55:11the highlight for Tekken 8 would
- 55:12probably be in France the twi. You want
- 55:16to talk about bougie party?
- 55:19>> The Twilight cruise ship. Tekken 8 is
- 55:23one of the greatest soundtrack. You
- 55:26could play that. I see them playing that
- 55:28in clubs for real. Tekken 8, Twilight
- 55:31Cruise ship. I've seen it played outside
- 55:33in real life. It is, bro. It is a vibe.
- 55:37It's But here's the thing. It's jazz.
- 55:41>> It's jazz with a bro. It is such a It's
- 55:45such a bougie
- 55:47cool vibe. That's a It's a banger, bro.
- 55:51So, yeah, I want to shout them out. And
- 55:53uh actually a couple of the composers I
- 55:55fell in love with the soundtrack. I have
- 55:56the vinyl somewhere here. Vinyls here. I
- 55:59got the vinyl. But um I found out the
- 56:02composers and they followed me cuz I was
- 56:04like, "Bro, what was y'all thinking?"
- 56:05>> Oh, that's cool.
- 56:06>> Bro, the Japanese composers fuz cuz I
- 56:08cuz they think about a Tekken that I
- 56:10don't like. A lot of these companies
- 56:12you'll see they'll be like when you try
- 56:13to find out who did the track, it'll be
- 56:15like Sega Sound Team.
- 56:17>> Yes.
- 56:18>> Not like no we ain't doing that. who is
- 56:22the actual composer and then I found
- 56:24yeah shout out to and all those guys
- 56:27they killed it. So Tekken goated and oh
- 56:30last thing the thing that Tekken 8 does
- 56:32which is pretty amazing they have the
- 56:34track and then as the round goes on
- 56:37let's say you get to round three of the
- 56:38fight they have the climax version of it
- 56:42>> bro and it's it's like a different twist
- 56:44on it and it's usually cool as hell and
- 56:47like Twilight dope decisive blow that's
- 56:51the the the arena stadium kind of energy
- 56:53dope and I want to say honorable mention
- 56:56to um Tamashi This is the the part where
- 56:58you Jin Kazama is hurt and Lin Zou is
- 57:02trying to protect him in this very
- 57:04spiritual forest while his life is in
- 57:06danger. It's very kind of emotional
- 57:08moment and it's a very you hear this
- 57:10very uh awesome Japanese singer in the
- 57:12back and she's she's going crazy. Yeah.
- 57:15Crushed it, bro. So, shout out to the
- 57:17Tekken soundtrack. Yeah, for sure.
- 57:18Definitely changed my life.
- 57:20>> Okay,
- 57:21>> cog. Let's talk about Castlevania. Mhm.
- 57:24>> How Castlevania the Night makes me feel
- 57:26like an aristocrat from like the 1800s.
- 57:29>> Yes.
- 57:29>> Doing snuff, drinking champagne or
- 57:32something like that, putting my nose up
- 57:34at people. That's what Cify the Night
- 57:35makes me feel like.
- 57:38Next game makes me feel like
- 57:41hugging a loved one. It's been a while.
- 57:45Haven't seen them for a little bit, but
- 57:46reunite. It could be a great friend you
- 57:48just haven't seen. But you felt this
- 57:50feeling of joy and warmth.
- 57:53>> But
- 57:54Little bit of sadness, too. Just thrown
- 57:56in there. Little dash.
- 57:57>> Okay.
- 57:58>> Kingdom Hearts 2.
- 58:00>> This is from Yoko Shimamura, who is a
- 58:03legend.
- 58:04>> Street Fighter 2. That's her baby. Guile
- 58:07theme. That's her baby.
- 58:09>> Wait a minute. This is
- 58:11>> Yeah, that's her. Parasite, that's her.
- 58:14>> Wow. I love
- 58:16>> Look at her, dude. If you look at her
- 58:17like video game credits, like what she's
- 58:19done, she's
- 58:20>> Give me the name. Give me her name
- 58:20again. Give me the name. Yoko Shimamura.
- 58:24>> Yep. Fauna.
- 58:25>> She is a Japanese incredible.
- 58:26>> Wait, she's the one that did She did
- 58:29Final Fight and Street Fighter, too.
- 58:33>> Yeah, she's a legend.
- 58:35>> I got Don't tell me she did the She did
- 58:37the K. If she did the Ken theme, I'm
- 58:39going to go crazy.
- 58:40>> I think so. I think she probably did
- 58:41most of them.
- 58:42>> That would be wild.
- 58:46>> That goes hard. What? Oh, she did Guile.
- 58:50God is fire. Like, wow. Okay, thank you
- 58:53for this. I did not know who who she
- 58:54>> Yeah, she is a legend. Yeah, she did
- 58:56Kinstein as far as I can tell. So,
- 58:59>> bro,
- 59:00>> she's incredible, you know, and she's
- 59:01been around the block for a long time.
- 59:03She's done some Final Fantasy stuff like
- 59:05songs here and there. She did uh like 15
- 59:07was mostly her,
- 59:08>> but Kingdom Hearts is kind of where she
- 59:10I think became like more famous among
- 59:12people.
- 59:13>> She is like the like the uu of Kingdom
- 59:16Hearts pretty much. She is like the
- 59:17grandmother of it.
- 59:19And Kingdom Hearts 2 is a very
- 59:23emotional game despite what you might
- 59:25think about it on the surface. You know,
- 59:27you're like, "What's this goofy ass
- 59:28game? This kid with big shoes rolling
- 59:30around with Donald and Goofy."
- 59:32[laughter]
- 59:33But if you're there from one chain of
- 59:35memories, you're ride or die with these
- 59:37guys.
- 59:38>> Dude, Sora, Donald, Goofy are my boys
- 59:40for life. I would do anything for those
- 59:42guys essentially. And this game just
- 59:45kind of takes everything to a whole
- 59:47another emotional level.
- 59:49>> Mhm.
- 59:50>> And I feel happy when I hear it, but I
- 59:52also feel sad somehow. It's super weird
- 59:55and I can't really describe why. But if
- 59:59you turn on Kingdom Hearts, any of the
- 1:00:00games,
- 1:00:01>> Final Fantasy has Prelude is kind of
- 1:00:03like their intro thing,
- 1:00:05>> you know, the
- 1:00:07all that stuff. Kingdom Hearts has
- 1:00:09Dearly Beloved, which is just like this
- 1:00:13beautiful, elegant. This is like some
- 1:00:15Beethoven tier [ __ ]
- 1:00:17>> intro with piano that'll make you feel
- 1:00:19something. I don't care who you are.
- 1:00:22>> And the version in two I think is just
- 1:00:23incredible. Starts off this really nice
- 1:00:25cello
- 1:00:26>> and just kicks into that very classy
- 1:00:30man. I'm thinking of like moments in the
- 1:00:33game like Lazy Afternoon. You are at the
- 1:00:35beginning of the game, you start off as
- 1:00:36Roxis. Oh, and you were it's like
- 1:00:38there's summer vacation and
- 1:00:41the a big thing about it is like summer
- 1:00:43vacation's almost kind of over feeling
- 1:00:44and like all of us can relate to that,
- 1:00:46you know, like summer is coming to the
- 1:00:48end, school is coming back, so you're a
- 1:00:50little bit sad there's all this going on
- 1:00:51there with your friends doing all that
- 1:00:53summer [ __ ] playing there. Very great.
- 1:00:58Sister Showdown, incredible song.
- 1:01:00>> Kyrie's theme. Kyrie's theme is like I
- 1:01:03think one of the best character themes
- 1:01:05that I could think of in gaming. Her
- 1:01:06theme is just so exquisite.
- 1:01:09The afternoon streets. Yeah. Running
- 1:01:11around with the boys, getting up into
- 1:01:13mischief. Just
- 1:01:15>> captures a sense of like innocence but
- 1:01:17fun at the same time.
- 1:01:19>> Hollow Bastion. Reviving Hollow Bastion
- 1:01:212.
- 1:01:22>> Carries is a call back to one. You
- 1:01:24return to this place that was like a a
- 1:01:26hostile world, but now it's been retaken
- 1:01:29and settled.
- 1:01:30>> And Organization 13's theme in this
- 1:01:33game. the piano, who are like the big
- 1:01:35bads in this game, just sets the tone
- 1:01:37throughout the entire game. All the
- 1:01:40Kingdom Hearts soundtracks are really
- 1:01:41good, all of them, but two, I think,
- 1:01:44just hits me in the heartstrings a
- 1:01:46little bit more than the other ones. So,
- 1:01:49>> so two is So, two is you got
- 1:01:53>> for soundtrack. Oh. Oh, yeah. Well, two
- 1:01:55is kind of considered like the goat of
- 1:01:56the series, and I can't really deny it,
- 1:01:59honestly.
- 1:02:01And I don't know, just
- 1:02:04perfect songs, perfect time, perfect
- 1:02:06place, all that kind of stuff. It's just
- 1:02:08one of those things that just came
- 1:02:09together so
- 1:02:11>> seamlessly and it just works. Everything
- 1:02:13about it just works.
- 1:02:14>> No, thank you for putting me on on her.
- 1:02:16I I I had no idea that that's who she
- 1:02:19was. And um all this time I've been
- 1:02:22rocking out to her. Didn't had no idea
- 1:02:24it was that that's dope. That's dope.
- 1:02:26And And now And I know Kingdom Heart
- 1:02:27fans go hard.
- 1:02:29>> It's a vibe. That's what's up, man.
- 1:02:30Salute. I'm definitely going to do my re
- 1:02:32more research on her. Yeah, we up to
- 1:02:34number one now, right? We up to number
- 1:02:36one.
- 1:02:37>> Yeah, this is I had to really think
- 1:02:39about it and I was just like, okay, who
- 1:02:40had the most influence on me? Who is the
- 1:02:42person who, you know, or soundtrack,
- 1:02:45right, that you go, okay, this changed
- 1:02:47my life and it it had to be Yuzo
- 1:02:50Kashiro. Yuzo Kashiro is definitely my
- 1:02:53goat. Fun fact, he follows me and we
- 1:02:58have talked. That's
- 1:02:59>> I never thought I would wait. I've never
- 1:03:00met him, but he's on socials a lot. Um,
- 1:03:03this is the guy who did uh the Streets
- 1:03:05of Rage series. This is the guy who's
- 1:03:08done the Revenge of Shinobi. He done
- 1:03:10Shinmu. Um, he showed me that like he he
- 1:03:16his he would be like I guess like how is
- 1:03:19he doing video game music? He should be
- 1:03:22doing music like like that's he's that
- 1:03:26good. You know what I'm saying? I'm just
- 1:03:27like, I don't understand how they found
- 1:03:28this man. Like, but yeah, like um again,
- 1:03:31you're talking think, you know, you boot
- 1:03:32up Streets of Rage and you know, you're
- 1:03:34in the 90s and I told I told Colin this
- 1:03:38I was like the title screen to
- 1:03:42Streets of Rage where the text comes up
- 1:03:45and you're listening to it. It's this
- 1:03:47very sad, somber,
- 1:03:50dark thing.
- 1:03:51>> Mhm. And this like kind of flute kind of
- 1:03:53whatever thing kind of plays kind of
- 1:03:55starting it up. No beat. Then the beat
- 1:03:58hits and it's it bro it goes so hard and
- 1:04:02it's a it's a sadness. It's a somberness
- 1:04:04but there's hope like these three
- 1:04:07warriors kick
- 1:04:09and then
- 1:04:11it's just it's a it's like a hip hoppy
- 1:04:14technoy
- 1:04:16dance club think like ' 90s club kind of
- 1:04:19vibe but it goes so hard. I told people
- 1:04:22that particular track, play that at my
- 1:04:23funeral when I die.
- 1:04:25>> Yeah.
- 1:04:25>> Play that. That song I said I want at
- 1:04:28the funeral cuz you like he came from a
- 1:04:30hard thing. But you know say he came
- 1:04:32from a hard place but but you know it's
- 1:04:35a it's a journey. It's like the track
- 1:04:37represents a journey to me and I love
- 1:04:38that. So shout out to the that um
- 1:04:40obviously Streets of Rage one. I want to
- 1:04:43give one I know people consider two
- 1:04:47>> the goat for him
- 1:04:49>> but one I feel as a collective
- 1:04:53is probably his best work the player
- 1:04:57select screen fight against is a socal
- 1:05:00attack the barbarian when you fight the
- 1:05:02boss bro it goes extra hard now I will
- 1:05:06say yes we get the streets of rage 2
- 1:05:09he's at his max level he's at he's at
- 1:05:11his ultimate power you You know what I'm
- 1:05:13saying? You've got the uh what you call
- 1:05:14it? You got it's called Go Straight.
- 1:05:15That's his legendary straight.
- 1:05:20>> I get it. Goed. Go. All I would just say
- 1:05:23there's an album. I like the streets of
- 1:05:25Ra one album met better, but go straight
- 1:05:27is goated. There's another song that
- 1:05:29doesn't get enough credit. Um where you
- 1:05:31go underground. It's called Alien Power.
- 1:05:33It's a very weird distinct vibe. It's
- 1:05:37something completely different than he's
- 1:05:39ever done before. Alien Power goes hard
- 1:05:43on Streets of Rage 2.
- 1:05:45>> Dude, this sounds like an early 2000s
- 1:05:47song. Like he How is he so ahead of the
- 1:05:49curve,
- 1:05:50>> bro? I'm like he he should have been in
- 1:05:53the club. Like there's footage of Yuzo
- 1:05:56Cashiro doing concerts
- 1:05:59with just Streets of Ray and people in
- 1:06:02the crowd. IT IS A VIBE. I WAS LIKE,
- 1:06:05"YO,
- 1:06:06>> he
- 1:06:06>> It's kind of crazy how he was like not
- 1:06:09like how is he not a huge EDM artist or
- 1:06:12something like that?"
- 1:06:13>> Yes, he should be like a huge EDM. You
- 1:06:16could tell it's clearly he was
- 1:06:17influenced by what was going on, but he
- 1:06:19himself is special. And I'm like, bro,
- 1:06:22like, so I know he's still doing other
- 1:06:23stuff and stuff like that, but I also
- 1:06:24want to give him credit because, bro, I
- 1:06:27did not know back then
- 1:06:30>> he did the Revenge of Shan [laughter]
- 1:06:32piece.
- 1:06:33the guy,
- 1:06:34>> BRO. LIKE THE title screen and the the
- 1:06:37the Shinobi track amazing. Even the B
- 1:06:42fights and um bro, the everything this
- 1:06:45man has touched for the most part, bro.
- 1:06:47He's done Shinmu.
- 1:06:50>> Yeah,
- 1:06:51>> I got two of my goats to work with each
- 1:06:53other. I got Y Suzuki, who's literally
- 1:06:55the person who actually made me fond of
- 1:06:57Sega arcade games and you know, the hang
- 1:07:00ons all that stuff.
- 1:07:01>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. and Yuzo Kosiro came
- 1:07:03together on Shu. And again, I would I
- 1:07:06wouldn't say like that it's it's a
- 1:07:08that's one of those things where I feel
- 1:07:09it's a very ambient. It's about the
- 1:07:11environment kind of thing. Yeah. I don't
- 1:07:13think like Shenmue has bangers.
- 1:07:15>> Yeah. When I think of Shenmue, I think
- 1:07:16of like that song that opens when you
- 1:07:18open your journal like the Yeah, that's
- 1:07:21what I think of Shenmue. [laughter]
- 1:07:22>> Exactly.
- 1:07:22>> Yeah. It's like so I'm never going to
- 1:07:24say Shenmu has bangers. I want to say
- 1:07:25that. But it's definitely one of those
- 1:07:27joint and he he throws a little hip-hop
- 1:07:30joint. He got some some joist in there
- 1:07:31too on certain areas. But yeah, I want
- 1:07:33to give
- 1:07:34>> Yuzo Kosiro his flowers. I I really
- 1:07:36think this is a guy that's ahead of his
- 1:07:38time.
- 1:07:39>> He still, in my opinion, doesn't get the
- 1:07:41proper do he deserves, which is weird to
- 1:07:44me, but he is goated in all gaming
- 1:07:47circles. I just wish
- 1:07:49>> like this is a guy that needs a lifetime
- 1:07:51achievement award. Like he needs to be
- 1:07:53like we need to be doing that for our
- 1:07:55luminaries. He's one of them. So yeah.
- 1:07:57>> Yeah, he definitely tastes better. He
- 1:07:58showed me that the effect of He's
- 1:08:01influenced so many. He showed me the
- 1:08:02effect of what good music in a video
- 1:08:06game does to the overall quality of a
- 1:08:09game. And I'm just like, okay, for sure.
- 1:08:11So, yeah, he that's definitely one of my
- 1:08:12goats for sure.
- 1:08:13>> He uh he chose the wrong team. He chose
- 1:08:15Sega. So,
- 1:08:16>> probably probably that's what it was
- 1:08:17though. You real though. It's like it's
- 1:08:19like you're the best guy on Xbox, but
- 1:08:21like you know what I'm saying? Like,
- 1:08:22[laughter] you know what I'm saying? But
- 1:08:23like no one knows you cuz no one has an
- 1:08:24Xbox.
- 1:08:25>> Yeah,
- 1:08:26>> you can you can make that point. That's
- 1:08:28probably why he wasn't if he was on
- 1:08:29>> if he was at Nintendo dude.
- 1:08:31>> Yeah. He'd probably be he'd be goated.
- 1:08:33>> Yeah. [laughter]
- 1:08:34He'd be in some like museum like
- 1:08:37honorary person or something like that
- 1:08:39>> next to my or somebody. Yeah.
- 1:08:41>> I think that's it for him. He's like
- 1:08:44>> more scrappy I guess.
- 1:08:45>> Yeah.
- 1:08:46>> He's so [ __ ] good. It's crazy how
- 1:08:48good this guy is at music. It's insane.
- 1:08:50>> It's insane.
- 1:08:50>> And he still kills it. Yeah.
- 1:08:52>> Yeah.
- 1:08:52>> Yeah. I'm like listening to Streets Rage
- 1:08:542. Streets Race 2 or Streets RA in
- 1:08:56general
- 1:08:57>> is definitely one of those games like
- 1:08:59you play Sega games.
- 1:09:00>> Yeah.
- 1:09:01>> And I'm not trying to [ __ ] on the
- 1:09:02soundtrack or anything like that,
- 1:09:03honestly.
- 1:09:04>> But you play and you play Streets of
- 1:09:06Rage and you're like, whoa, this is a
- 1:09:08step above anything I've heard on this
- 1:09:11console facts.
- 1:09:13>> And like I love the Sonic soundtracks
- 1:09:15and all that stuff. Those are great.
- 1:09:17>> But you hear this guy, he's like on a
- 1:09:19whole different level.
- 1:09:19>> He's Yeah. You you felt you like every
- 1:09:22other Genesis game, let's be honest, it
- 1:09:24was average.
- 1:09:25>> It was like seeing a a band at a talent
- 1:09:27show. Then you go see the [ __ ]
- 1:09:29Beatles and you're like, "Wow."
- 1:09:30>> You're like, "What?" [laughter]
- 1:09:32Yeah, bro. I know people who have fallen
- 1:09:34in love with Streets of Race just soily
- 1:09:36because it was that music and it was him
- 1:09:38and they were just like,
- 1:09:39>> "Man,
- 1:09:39>> yeah. Follow me."
- 1:09:40>> So, you grew up in New York, man. I
- 1:09:42couldn't imagine there was like, dude,
- 1:09:43walking around like blasting this sound
- 1:09:46in your headphones would be so good.
- 1:09:48People were watching me play Sheets of
- 1:09:50Ra like, "Yo, what's that? I gotta pick
- 1:09:52that up." Like it was that in in that
- 1:09:54era, he was at the perfect time in that
- 1:09:57game. They they took over the beat him
- 1:09:58up scene and Yeah. And then obviously
- 1:10:00Genesis with the two-player and stuff
- 1:10:02like that. Yeah, it was amazing.
- 1:10:04>> Damn.
- 1:10:05>> Incredible.
- 1:10:06>> Yeah, man. What you got? What should
- 1:10:07>> All right, final one. You brought this
- 1:10:08up earlier, but it's my number one.
- 1:10:10Final Fantasy 7.
- 1:10:12>> Let's get it. I want the track. Let's
- 1:10:14go.
- 1:10:15>> It's weird. I associate a lot of my top
- 1:10:17things with like a vibe and or like a
- 1:10:19thing in life. Like I said, Cy the Night
- 1:10:22Aristocrat,
- 1:10:24Kingdom Hearts
- 1:10:26kind of like a a warm hug with a t of
- 1:10:29sadness. Final Fantasy 7 to me is
- 1:10:33life. All of life, ups, downs,
- 1:10:37happiness, joy, sadness, despair. It has
- 1:10:42everything and it hits every single
- 1:10:44emotion for me.
- 1:10:47I think of just the main theme when
- 1:10:50you're like walking around the open
- 1:10:53world and all this kind of stuff and it
- 1:10:54just kicks in.
- 1:10:57Oh my god. Especially when you get the
- 1:10:59high wind and everything. It's
- 1:11:01incredible
- 1:11:02when you get into that first Gova fight.
- 1:11:08>> That's Addict's favorite track. I
- 1:11:09forgot. Janeova goes crazy.
- 1:11:13>> Mhm.
- 1:11:14>> That was like I think that was the
- 1:11:16hardest I popped off in remake. The
- 1:11:17first remake when that kicked off, dude,
- 1:11:19it was like
- 1:11:20>> what?
- 1:11:21>> It hit so hard for me. [clears throat]
- 1:11:23>> Uh, of course, Onewinged Angel. Everyone
- 1:11:25knows this song. This is like
- 1:11:27transcended game music
- 1:11:30>> and it's just a pop culture thing I feel
- 1:11:32like at this point.
- 1:11:33>> Hell yeah.
- 1:11:34>> Wait, can can I slap you that up?
- 1:11:36>> Yeah. Yeah. What's your favorite part or
- 1:11:41segment or snippet? Obviously, we love
- 1:11:43Angel.
- 1:11:44>> What's the part that gets you
- 1:11:47>> crazy?
- 1:11:48>> Uh, when I think it starts getting like
- 1:11:51the vocals come in like
- 1:11:57Okay, I got you. I got you.
- 1:11:58>> Cuz there was like nothing like that in
- 1:12:00the game and they save that for the
- 1:12:04final final boss. You're like, "We're
- 1:12:06getting vocals in here now all of a
- 1:12:08sudden."
- 1:12:09>> Yeah. That is restraint to me.
- 1:12:12>> Yes.
- 1:12:13>> You've been You've been holding that.
- 1:12:15You got this in your back pocket. You've
- 1:12:17been holding that the entire time,
- 1:12:19>> bro.
- 1:12:20>> And you're like, "All right, we're just
- 1:12:21going to drop this right here."
- 1:12:23>> Bro, I remember it like it was
- 1:12:24yesterday. It's like, you know, playing
- 1:12:26the original on PlayStation. Like,
- 1:12:28that's why PlayStation one to me is
- 1:12:29Goldie. Like I I'll never forget I'm
- 1:12:31playing this and I'm like he's in that
- 1:12:34heavenly kind of form, right? And you're
- 1:12:36like,
- 1:12:37>> "Bro, what is this?
- 1:12:39What is the insane?" Continue. Continue.
- 1:12:42>> Um, one track I really like is called
- 1:12:45Dear to the Heart. Now, this is I think
- 1:12:47of like there's this one point in the
- 1:12:48game where you're kind of walking across
- 1:12:51train tracks
- 1:12:52>> or something like that towards I think
- 1:12:53it's towards like the gold sauce area.
- 1:12:56>> Okay. And the song is just playing
- 1:12:59>> and
- 1:13:00it is super nostalgic somehow. And I
- 1:13:04don't really know why because what's
- 1:13:06going on in the game at this point isn't
- 1:13:07like a nostalgic moment or anything like
- 1:13:09that.
- 1:13:10>> But just something about it reminds me
- 1:13:13of like the the good old days, you know,
- 1:13:15when you're you're rolling with your
- 1:13:17your friends, you're just goofing off
- 1:13:19doing dumb [ __ ] or whatever. Complete
- 1:13:21innocence.
- 1:13:22>> Listen to it.
- 1:13:22>> Somehow it does that. And I don't really
- 1:13:24know how it conveys it to me, but it
- 1:13:25does.
- 1:13:26Another song I love a lot is called
- 1:13:28Under the Rotten Pizza.
- 1:13:31>> Oh, THAT'S MY I GOT THAT I GOT THAT RED.
- 1:13:33THAT'S MY JOINT. OH, YOU LIKE that
- 1:13:35>> in Midgar on the lower like below the
- 1:13:38plates or whatever.
- 1:13:42>> It's a mysterious.
- 1:13:45Yeah.
- 1:13:46>> Yeah.
- 1:13:47>> That is like them being like, "Yo, PS1
- 1:13:49right here, [ __ ] Check out this sound
- 1:13:51chip we got on this thing."
- 1:13:53I thought I was one of those that under
- 1:13:54the rotten piece that that's that's a
- 1:13:56it's a deep cut. People don't talk about
- 1:13:58that one.
- 1:13:59>> It's a great song, man.
- 1:14:01>> Uh, of course, Aith theme. Everyone
- 1:14:04knows this song.
- 1:14:06Everyone when you play this game, it
- 1:14:08this will resonate with your
- 1:14:09heartstrings. That's for sure. Tifa's
- 1:14:11theme I really like as well. When you
- 1:14:13get to Seventh Heaven, she's there and
- 1:14:14her theme kicks in. Wonderful. The
- 1:14:16battle theme, as you brought up earlier,
- 1:14:19>> is just wonderful. There's so many good
- 1:14:21battle themes in this game. It's crazy
- 1:14:24to me. It's just like the GOAT
- 1:14:26soundtrack. It just capt
- 1:14:29and and excels exceptionally well at
- 1:14:32everything. It's one like it to me it's
- 1:14:34like one in a generation kind of thing
- 1:14:37like that or like I mean um is just
- 1:14:40popping off constantly.
- 1:14:41>> Yeah.
- 1:14:42>> But seven it just reached a whole
- 1:14:43another level I think and it resonates
- 1:14:46with people of all ages. Of course,
- 1:14:48people our age who grew up playing it,
- 1:14:50but you know, you got newcomers coming
- 1:14:51into the series,
- 1:14:53>> these tracks they're playing and
- 1:14:54remaking a lot of stuff. Of course,
- 1:14:55there's new songs in the remake games,
- 1:14:57but there's a lot of
- 1:14:58>> the old songs just reworked and
- 1:15:00reinterpreted.
- 1:15:01>> Mhm.
- 1:15:02>> And it's just that damn good, man. It
- 1:15:05really is worth the hype.
- 1:15:07>> Oh, yeah.
- 1:15:07>> I know a lot of people are like, "Oh, I
- 1:15:08don't like Final F seven. I don't like
- 1:15:10it." It gets more attention than the one
- 1:15:12I like.
- 1:15:13>> That's what it is. It's jealousy. It's
- 1:15:15jealousy, bro. That's all it is. And I
- 1:15:18hate to tell you boys, it's by way for a
- 1:15:20reason.
- 1:15:22>> It is what it is.
- 1:15:23>> I don't see them remaking the others uh
- 1:15:25with the same speed. There's a reason.
- 1:15:27There's a reason.
- 1:15:28>> Just let just let go. Just accept it and
- 1:15:31let go. [laughter]
- 1:15:33>> But yeah,
- 1:15:34>> Final Fantasy 6 fans get so mad at me. I
- 1:15:36don't I don't I don't pick fights with
- 1:15:38them. They just get You can tell it's
- 1:15:40jealousy because I never say anything
- 1:15:42disparaging about six. You know what I'm
- 1:15:44saying? I I understand Kefa boys. I get
- 1:15:46it.
- 1:15:47All I'm saying is like when like it's
- 1:15:48like they really get angry.
- 1:15:51>> Yeah. It's Yeah.
- 1:15:52>> Yeah.
- 1:15:53>> I've experienced that. I've run into
- 1:15:54many Final Fantasy 6 fans like that.
- 1:15:56Many.
- 1:15:57>> They get so angry
- 1:15:57>> in real life and online.
- 1:15:59>> Yes. Yeah. It's hilarious. But no, you
- 1:16:02got some good picks, man. And you made a
- 1:16:04good point because
- 1:16:05>> Final Fantasy 7, it's the range of
- 1:16:09emotions that that's what makes it
- 1:16:11special. You got a little bit of
- 1:16:13everything. I like what you said about
- 1:16:14the nostalgic track. I'm I'm going to go
- 1:16:16back to that one. They said that you
- 1:16:17said that reminds you of the whole beans
- 1:16:18and stuff like that.
- 1:16:19>> Um yeah, they just it's just so many
- 1:16:21that like I said they
- 1:16:23>> they hit different emotional beats and
- 1:16:26you get a wide range on Final Fantasy 7
- 1:16:29specifically. So that's I like your
- 1:16:30theory, your equivalent to life, right?
- 1:16:32Cuz that's life. You you got to have the
- 1:16:34ups, the downs, the good moments. So
- 1:16:35Final Fantasy 7 it capsules all that.
- 1:16:37And they have some really really cool
- 1:16:40heartstring kind of moments as well too.
- 1:16:42So yeah, shout out to them. I forgot
- 1:16:43about Jindo. How did I forget a bunch of
- 1:16:45>> I got to bring up Cosmo Candy because
- 1:16:47someone will get mad at me if I don't.
- 1:16:48>> Oh, you have to. Yeah.
- 1:16:51>> Oh, no. Wait. Uh,
- 1:16:52>> let's go.
- 1:16:54Yeah, that's it.
- 1:16:57[groaning]
- 1:16:58Yeah. Yeah. Every It's It's all good.
- 1:17:00It's all good.
- 1:17:01>> I got to go back. I got to go play. I
- 1:17:02got to play after this.
- 1:17:02>> It's all [laughter] good.
- 1:17:04>> Like the remake games, of course, I
- 1:17:05love, but the music to me is always like
- 1:17:07something I really look forward to
- 1:17:08hearing in these games. when I when I
- 1:17:10start like a new one, I'm like pumped to
- 1:17:12hear the music how they're going to do
- 1:17:14it.
- 1:17:15>> Absolutely. Yeah. Goed. Goed.
- 1:17:17>> Shout out. All right. Those are our top
- 1:17:19five for now. These could change
- 1:17:21probably pretty often for the most part
- 1:17:22for us, but that's just what it is right
- 1:17:24now. So, if your game didn't make the
- 1:17:26cut, sorry.
- 1:17:27>> Apologies.
- 1:17:28>> Make your own list. Post it down below.
- 1:17:30There you go. [laughter]
- 1:17:32>> Hey, that was a fun exercise. That was
- 1:17:34good.
- 1:17:34>> That was fun. Hell yeah.
- 1:17:37>> All right. uh games that we've been
- 1:17:40playing. You've been playing the altars
- 1:17:44uh loss. Is it last variable
- 1:17:46>> or is it
- 1:17:47>> last variable? Last variable. Sorry.
- 1:17:49Last variable. Yeah. Last variable. Like
- 1:17:51last day. Last variable.
- 1:17:52>> Oh, okay. Last. Okay. I'll write that
- 1:17:54down just sir.
- 1:17:55>> I wrote last for some reason.
- 1:17:57>> Last for the time stamps for old Lockort
- 1:17:59there.
- 1:18:00>> Yes, sir.
- 1:18:00>> All right. This is an expansion for the
- 1:18:03altars.
- 1:18:04>> Yes.
- 1:18:04>> All right.
- 1:18:05>> Yeah, man. Alters was uh last year one
- 1:18:08of my underrated gems. Uh
- 1:18:10>> yeah, I remember you me talking about
- 1:18:10it.
- 1:18:11>> Yeah, it's one of those games that um
- 1:18:13you had it's about it was long game. It
- 1:18:16was about like 20 hours or whatever
- 1:18:18itself and um you beat the game and
- 1:18:21again so again you're stuck on a planet,
- 1:18:23you know, um you find this uh material
- 1:18:25called Repidium. You you go on like this
- 1:18:27research expedition and what happens is
- 1:18:30your whole crew dies. It's just you by
- 1:18:32yourself. And what ends up happening is
- 1:18:34you find this uh material called
- 1:18:35rapidium. Repidium is this top secret.
- 1:18:37This is the reason why you are sent out
- 1:18:39there. And this this rapidium has the
- 1:18:41secret to recreating, you know, more
- 1:18:44clones and stuff like that of yourself.
- 1:18:46So while you out there, you have to kind
- 1:18:48of build a base, do your thing, and
- 1:18:51you're talking back and forth with the
- 1:18:53company that sent you out there. And
- 1:18:55they're a little sh they're a little
- 1:18:57little shady,
- 1:18:58>> of course. Yeah.
- 1:18:59>> Use the rapidium. You know what I'm
- 1:19:00saying? See what you can do. And that's
- 1:19:02when you start to recreate the clothes
- 1:19:04of yourself. Now, the clones represent
- 1:19:06different periods of your life where
- 1:19:07it's like, okay, if Brad would have done
- 1:19:09this, then he would have been a rock
- 1:19:10star. If Brad like, you know, so it's
- 1:19:12like, we got to make Rockstar Brad,
- 1:19:14we're going to make this. Like, so it
- 1:19:15it's so cool these kind of um altars of
- 1:19:19Yandolski, which is the main character.
- 1:19:21And you do that, you beat the game, and
- 1:19:23I don't want to spoil it, but it is the
- 1:19:25game is base management. The game is
- 1:19:28exploration out on the on the planet,
- 1:19:30resource management, but also the
- 1:19:32interactions of making sure the altars
- 1:19:35listen, do what you got to do. They all
- 1:19:37have their own personalities. They all
- 1:19:39have their own things. And there's
- 1:19:41variables with that as well. So, when
- 1:19:43you beat the game, the game had multiple
- 1:19:45endings. [clears throat]
- 1:19:47>> Very powerful stuff. And the game kind
- 1:19:49of teaches you about life choices and
- 1:19:53and it's very it's a heartfelt game. You
- 1:19:55know what I'm saying? Like it's very
- 1:19:57like you could tell like whoever the
- 1:19:59writing in this is exceptional. Like
- 1:20:01they wanted to get a message across
- 1:20:03about different aspects of life and what
- 1:20:06it means to be human, right? That's kind
- 1:20:08of the theme of the alter. So you beat
- 1:20:09it. I'm like, "All right, cool. I'm
- 1:20:10satisfied." I did hear it was coming out
- 1:20:12with DLC. I'm like, "All right, cool."
- 1:20:13Now, one of my favorite altars in the
- 1:20:16entire game is the scientist because the
- 1:20:20scientist is a pragmatic [ __ ]
- 1:20:22>> [laughter]
- 1:20:23>> He's like, "Look,
- 1:20:25>> he's like he's like the the game st he's
- 1:20:27like Activision." He's like, "Look,
- 1:20:30>> Bobby, crunch them. Get them in the salt
- 1:20:32minds. I don't care." He said, "Cuz you
- 1:20:34got this option to put crunch hours
- 1:20:36whenever there's like, you know, real
- 1:20:38events and you cuz you got a day and
- 1:20:39night cycle, right?" And you're like,
- 1:20:40"Bro, we got to work past that. If guys,
- 1:20:43they want good food, they're going to
- 1:20:44eat mush for 10 weeks. We don't care. We
- 1:20:46got to get it done." He's one of those
- 1:20:48guys. He's pragmatic. Here's the here's
- 1:20:50the solution. you give him things to
- 1:20:51research and he always errors on the
- 1:20:54side of I don't care about anyone's
- 1:20:55feelings and get this [ __ ] done like
- 1:20:58he's that guy like so
- 1:21:00>> basically how the DLC goes they they
- 1:21:04definitely pick an ending that they
- 1:21:06consider cannon right I ain't going to
- 1:21:09spoil because there was like some of the
- 1:21:10endings are wild
- 1:21:12>> so this is the ending where he stays
- 1:21:15behind right he figures out there's this
- 1:21:18oasis on the planet and his scientific
- 1:21:20for curiosity like wait a minute every
- 1:21:22time this deadly sun comes around this
- 1:21:25one part of the planet the oasis seems
- 1:21:28to survive and it's like it's it it it
- 1:21:30grows life fauna food like I got to
- 1:21:32figure out the scientific curiosity me
- 1:21:34so he's like you guys go on ahead I'm
- 1:21:36staying here so this and this one is
- 1:21:40Yandowski the scientist and it's his
- 1:21:42journey and what's going on so all right
- 1:21:44let me see how this is going to go bro
- 1:21:45they this thing first of all they've
- 1:21:47done a phenomenal job because what he
- 1:21:50says is, "Okay, I'm not dealing with the
- 1:21:53the mistake Yandelli made. I'm He's got
- 1:21:56all these emotional guys. I'm going to
- 1:21:57make only scientists like me. I'm not
- 1:22:00going to have any emotional issues with
- 1:22:02these fools." So, you've got Yandowski
- 1:22:04the chemist, Yandoski the physicist,
- 1:22:06Yonoski, you know what I'm saying? So,
- 1:22:08but the funny thing is he's in just as
- 1:22:10much problems as anybody else [laughter]
- 1:22:12because these versions of himself have
- 1:22:14their own issues. But what's dope about
- 1:22:16this where the game became mechanics
- 1:22:18changed now is that before you were in
- 1:22:20this kind of like rolling base and it
- 1:22:22was big and it was above ground. Now
- 1:22:23it's kind of underground. You have
- 1:22:25limited resources. The thing that's
- 1:22:27different too is you have to make a cryo
- 1:22:30chamber. So what happens is you found
- 1:22:32the secret to preserving yourself in
- 1:22:35stasis.
- 1:22:36>> Mhm. But and you have to do this every
- 1:22:3913 days to have enough saved away so
- 1:22:43that when the deadly sun comes that
- 1:22:45wipes off everything from the planet
- 1:22:47except the oasis. Anything in the oasis
- 1:22:50can can maintain and sustain itself.
- 1:22:52Right? So you're building infrastructure
- 1:22:54from your base to the oasis. Plus you're
- 1:22:56trying to learn the secret of how this
- 1:22:59thing is going. So it's very meta. It's
- 1:23:02very law of continuum. It's geeky. Also,
- 1:23:05the game goes into
- 1:23:08they go there. They go into a like you
- 1:23:10got this thing called Yanbot. [laughter]
- 1:23:12>> Yanbot.
- 1:23:13>> Yanbot is a cuz he's your AI companion.
- 1:23:16And it's it also goes into ethics of
- 1:23:20what is
- 1:23:21>> allowed with the human soul and it goes
- 1:23:25there. Like, bro, tremendous, right? I'm
- 1:23:2810 hours in on a DLC.
- 1:23:31>> Damn. I'm like, bro, this I said, wait,
- 1:23:34how long is this 20? The DLC last 20
- 1:23:37hours. So, I will say
- 1:23:39>> hours,
- 1:23:39>> bro. It is 20. I'm 10 hours in. I'm
- 1:23:41thinking I'll be finished by the time I
- 1:23:43do something. I'm Oh, yeah. I'm like,
- 1:23:45this is still going on. But it it I will
- 1:23:46say this.
- 1:23:48>> I highly I do not recommend this DLC if
- 1:23:51you did not play the base game,
- 1:23:52>> okay? because it kind of requires, in my
- 1:23:55opinion,
- 1:23:57uh not an expert level of play, but
- 1:23:59you've got to know the mechanics through
- 1:24:02and through because you can get caught
- 1:24:03out there. They did uh change things and
- 1:24:05allow you to save different times, stuff
- 1:24:07like that. But yeah, no, the game the
- 1:24:09game is great. They have some new also
- 1:24:10other new mechanics. Also, alters have
- 1:24:12secondary skills and sets and stuff like
- 1:24:14that they can do. Um I don't want to
- 1:24:16spoil too much, but I would just say
- 1:24:18this is a fantastic DLC. And then
- 1:24:20obviously my man Alex Jordan
- 1:24:23I I'm going to continue to bloate if
- 1:24:25this man does not get an award for
- 1:24:27playing not only in the first game eight
- 1:24:31characters of him and variations who
- 1:24:33have extremely distinct accents and all
- 1:24:36it's one guy doing all of this and yes
- 1:24:40again the matters of the heart come up
- 1:24:42and then you realize the scientist has
- 1:24:44to actually change his mentality. You
- 1:24:47also have this whiteboard that you um
- 1:24:49kind of almost like a detective board
- 1:24:51and you try to figure out things
- 1:24:52scientifically what's going on. So long
- 1:24:53story short, alter laws variable amazing
- 1:24:56so far. 10 hours in I can't believe I'm
- 1:25:00back in this this thing get taken over
- 1:25:02my life again.
- 1:25:03>> Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:25:04>> Yeah. So yeah, I want to shout them out.
- 1:25:06Tremendous game.
- 1:25:07>> Yeah. Yeah. I remember you were hyped
- 1:25:09about it before. Did he the guy get
- 1:25:11nominated last year? Did he
- 1:25:13>> he got a few awards from some shows? I
- 1:25:15believe DICE they won
- 1:25:18>> they won an award. He I think Alex
- 1:25:20Jordan himself has not won an award.
- 1:25:22Okay. But the alter started winning
- 1:25:24other awards at um other shows. I think
- 1:25:26Dice they pulled I was there for DICE
- 1:25:28and there was another one that they
- 1:25:29pulled away. So yeah. Salute to the
- 1:25:30team. They're getting some recognition
- 1:25:31man. It's 11 bit studios. Fantastic job
- 1:25:34man. They're killing it.
- 1:25:36>> Okay. Yeah. Shout out to those guys
- 1:25:38right there.
- 1:25:39>> Yes sir.
- 1:25:39>> I wonder if I think Lockmore liked that
- 1:25:41game a lot too. I wonder if he'll get to
- 1:25:42it.
- 1:25:43>> Yes. I saw Lock's uh tweets and again
- 1:25:46they've got some really cool callbacks
- 1:25:48for those who played the first one and
- 1:25:49stuff like that. But dude, I'm telling
- 1:25:51you guys, man, I shout out to my man
- 1:25:52Jimmy. A couple of LSM guys, they
- 1:25:54playing it now, but I'm like, "Cog, this
- 1:25:55game." And it it's a very addictive
- 1:25:58game. You can't play and stop. You next
- 1:26:02thing you know, four or five hours have
- 1:26:03gone by and Yeah, it's one of those.
- 1:26:06>> Yeah, that's good stuff. Okay. Very
- 1:26:08nice.
- 1:26:08>> Yeah.
- 1:26:09>> All right. So, for me, Cog, what you
- 1:26:11got?
- 1:26:11>> I've been playing
- 1:26:14Spyro the Dragon.
- 1:26:16Now, I have never played through a Spyro
- 1:26:19game, so I was like, "Okay, there's a
- 1:26:21new Spyro coming out.
- 1:26:23I know people love these series, these
- 1:26:26games. I remember they so since the PS1
- 1:26:29era."
- 1:26:30>> Mhm.
- 1:26:31>> I was like, "All right, we got to start
- 1:26:32plugging these holes that I got from
- 1:26:34these old games." So, let's start
- 1:26:35tackling this slowly. So, I decided to
- 1:26:37play Spyro. I am playing the rem
- 1:26:39remastered versions of the games,
- 1:26:41>> okay? cuz I think the original versions
- 1:26:44are only available on PS3
- 1:26:47>> and I don't want to dig it out. I don't
- 1:26:49want to drag that that big old [ __ ]
- 1:26:50down here. I don't want to deal with
- 1:26:51that.
- 1:26:53>> And it was on sale, so I just bought it
- 1:26:54for like 15 bucks, I think, is for all
- 1:26:56three games. So, yeah, this comes with
- 1:26:57all three games. I'm only playing the
- 1:26:59first game right now, though. I'm not
- 1:27:00going to play them back toback. I think
- 1:27:01I'm going to space it out.
- 1:27:02>> Okay,
- 1:27:03>> but before I get into all that, let me
- 1:27:04read a couple writins here. Ninja DC
- 1:27:06wrote in and said, "Good day, boys.
- 1:27:08Spyro holds a special place in my heart
- 1:27:10since I first played it on my cousin's
- 1:27:12PS1. It made me a fan of Insomniac and
- 1:27:15had me locked in for the next series
- 1:27:17when I got a PS2 Ratchet and Clank or
- 1:27:19Ratchet becoming the definitive game of
- 1:27:21my childhood. When the remake came out,
- 1:27:24I was given the opportunity to finally
- 1:27:25beat the trilogy, which went on to
- 1:27:28become my first three platinums. Brad,
- 1:27:30how do you feel or how does it feel to
- 1:27:32play the OG Spyro games? And what place
- 1:27:34and price point does Spyro have in
- 1:27:36modern gaming or modern gaming market?
- 1:27:40I'll get to that in a second. Tyler uh
- 1:27:43Kamandinski wrote in said, "Hey,
- 1:27:44summoners. Spyro is my favorite
- 1:27:46franchise of all time. The unique and
- 1:27:48enchanting worlds that lie behind each
- 1:27:51portal, the banging soundtrack that is
- 1:27:53very uh '90sesque, and the stunning
- 1:27:55visuals. How have you been enjoying your
- 1:27:58first playthrough? I would strongly
- 1:27:59recommend or encourage playing the
- 1:28:01second and third game as they are great
- 1:28:02evolutions. I will at a later point.
- 1:28:05>> Mhm.
- 1:28:06>> I don't want to get burnt out though.
- 1:28:07We'll come back. Uh he brought the
- 1:28:09soundtrack. Stuart Copeland, the drummer
- 1:28:12from The Police, actually did these
- 1:28:13soundtracks, which I think is very
- 1:28:14interesting and they are good
- 1:28:16soundtracks. So, shout out Stuart.
- 1:28:18>> Mhm.
- 1:28:19>> Uh but how does it feel to finally
- 1:28:21place? What place and price point does
- 1:28:23Spyro have in modern gaming mark the
- 1:28:24market? I think there is room for Spyro.
- 1:28:26Obviously, he's coming back. Toys for
- 1:28:28Bob who did this collection that I'm
- 1:28:30playing. Shout out to those guys. Do
- 1:28:32Banjo next. I know you guys were talking
- 1:28:34about that. Do it. It's time to move on
- 1:28:37from Spyro. You know, you get you get
- 1:28:38your one game. Let's go back to the bear
- 1:28:40and the bird.
- 1:28:41>> They need redemption. So,
- 1:28:43>> big time.
- 1:28:44>> They need big time redemption. So, let's
- 1:28:45get them back. All right, guys. I tr I
- 1:28:47trust them though with Banjo Kazouie.
- 1:28:49So, hopefully they'll do it. Um, in
- 1:28:52terms of Spyus Place in the market and
- 1:28:54price, I I don't know, 50 60 bucks, I
- 1:28:58guess. I don't think it should be 70
- 1:29:00probably.
- 1:29:02Platformers are weird right now where if
- 1:29:04you're not Nintendo, it seems like it's
- 1:29:06hard to sell a platform at a like the
- 1:29:08highest price.
- 1:29:10>> A lot of people [clears throat] aren't
- 1:29:11willing to pony up. Like even Astrobot
- 1:29:13was 60, I think.
- 1:29:16>> Yes.
- 1:29:16>> Wasn't full price. It was 60 or 50,
- 1:29:18something like that.
- 1:29:19>> Mhm. And I think Spyro could easily slot
- 1:29:22into that. Um, I assume it'll be on Game
- 1:29:25Pass. I assume. Did they say Do you
- 1:29:28remember if they said it was going to be
- 1:29:29there when they show that trailer?
- 1:29:31>> I remember. I actually It was funny to
- 1:29:33talk about they didn't mention Game
- 1:29:34Pass. Okay.
- 1:29:35>> But but yeah, I mean, who knows if that
- 1:29:37may come later, but for from my
- 1:29:39understanding right now, I just remember
- 1:29:41them saying, "Hey, it's coming to the
- 1:29:42platform." And I'm assuming they have
- 1:29:44the marketing. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:29:46Yeah. But as far as the Game Pass thing,
- 1:29:48I didn't see the mention just yet. Hm.
- 1:29:50Yeah. [snorts]
- 1:29:52Yeah. Yeah. I don't really know. I'm not
- 1:29:53sure because I Oh, we can get that
- 1:29:55another time, but just get Game Pass. I
- 1:29:57don't know if everything's going to be
- 1:29:58day one going forward. Everything. I
- 1:30:00don't know. I don't really know how it's
- 1:30:01going to change. We're in uncertain
- 1:30:02times in the gaming industry right now.
- 1:30:04So, things are changing quickly.
- 1:30:05>> Exactly.
- 1:30:06>> But anyways, yeah, I think Spyro could
- 1:30:07totally thrive in this market. I think
- 1:30:10that trailer, if I remember correctly,
- 1:30:12got a lot of views. Like, people are
- 1:30:13very hyped for this game
- 1:30:15>> when it came out. So, I was like,
- 1:30:16>> and part of it like, dude, I want to I
- 1:30:18want to get in on the fun. and I want to
- 1:30:19know what the excitement's about. I want
- 1:30:20to be there. I want to be hyped with
- 1:30:21everybody. So,
- 1:30:23>> got to play it.
- 1:30:24>> And I think Spyro is just a very
- 1:30:26charming, simple little game. Of course,
- 1:30:28it's a remake of a PS1 game, the first
- 1:30:30one. So, it is very simple. You know,
- 1:30:32you are Spyro the Dragon. And the whole
- 1:30:34thing is like, hey, your dragon pals got
- 1:30:36turned into stone. You got to save them
- 1:30:38all. And that's the story pretty much. I
- 1:30:43I guess there's like a villain. I don't
- 1:30:44really know who they are though or
- 1:30:46anything like that.
- 1:30:47>> [laughter]
- 1:30:47>> I think they're at the very beginning of
- 1:30:49the game then I don't hear about them
- 1:30:50anymore
- 1:30:51>> or any [clears throat] else but you know
- 1:30:53it's PS1 right PS1 platformer
- 1:30:56but yeah you like have a hubs you start
- 1:30:58in you go basically you go to different
- 1:31:00worlds throughout or lands
- 1:31:02>> uh throughout the game first one you
- 1:31:04start in is like more medieval themed
- 1:31:06and it's like you have a little hub area
- 1:31:08and there are like little gateways that
- 1:31:10take you into levels very 3D platformer
- 1:31:13of that area or that era [snorts] um In
- 1:31:17each level, there's dragons to save,
- 1:31:20eggs to collect from like some enemies,
- 1:31:22and rupes to get. Very classic stuff.
- 1:31:25>> I will say I was very impressed with the
- 1:31:27enemy variety in this game.
- 1:31:29>> There is like different enemies
- 1:31:31throughout each world that are all
- 1:31:33themed to the world and it's been
- 1:31:35consistent throughout the entire game.
- 1:31:37So, I've been very impressed from that
- 1:31:38stand
- 1:31:39>> cuz I'm like, "Yeah, no, it's PS1
- 1:31:42platformer. There's probably like, you
- 1:31:43know, five or six enemies in the entire
- 1:31:45game." No, there's a lot. And they all
- 1:31:48have like different like move sets and
- 1:31:50stuff like that. Like
- 1:31:51>> there's like a fantasy world you go to
- 1:31:52later on. There's like wizards and they
- 1:31:54all have like their different elements.
- 1:31:55There's like a a wind wizard and there's
- 1:31:57like a fire one, a blizzard one, and
- 1:31:59there's like ones that push rocks out
- 1:32:02>> knock you off ledges. I was like, damn,
- 1:32:04this is pretty cool. I've been pretty
- 1:32:05impressed from that front. There's
- 1:32:06enemies like that wear armor, so you
- 1:32:09can't use your breath attack on them.
- 1:32:10You got to charge into them. And there's
- 1:32:12other like big boys that are too big, so
- 1:32:14you have to shoot them with fire,
- 1:32:16>> which is cool. [snorts]
- 1:32:17>> Uh, the game's divided up into two level
- 1:32:19types. The majority of the game, I would
- 1:32:21say, is like 90% 80%.
- 1:32:24You are running around a spiral on the
- 1:32:26ground, bashing dudes, jumping, gliding.
- 1:32:29You have like a little glide, which is
- 1:32:31cool.
- 1:32:32>> Mhm.
- 1:32:32>> Those [clears throat] are like the main
- 1:32:33core of the game, but there are also the
- 1:32:34levels that revolve around flying.
- 1:32:37>> Okay. where you're like flying the whole
- 1:32:38way and each level has like objectives
- 1:32:41you have to do before time runs out.
- 1:32:43Like the first one you have to fly
- 1:32:46through these dude cog, you know how it
- 1:32:47is. In the this era, games loved making
- 1:32:50you fly through rings. They love [ __ ]
- 1:32:52like this
- 1:32:53>> big time.
- 1:32:55>> Getting flashbacks to Superman 64.
- 1:32:57>> Hate it.
- 1:32:59[laughter] You're flying through rings,
- 1:33:00but then you got also destroy like a
- 1:33:02certain amount of like there's these
- 1:33:03planes going around and there's the
- 1:33:05trains you got to blow up at the same
- 1:33:06time and you got to get these chests.
- 1:33:08So, you have to do all these objectives
- 1:33:09in one go before time runs out.
- 1:33:11>> Mhm.
- 1:33:12>> And it's pretty tricky. Like lot some of
- 1:33:15them are pretty tough. Like I had to
- 1:33:17like do multiple multiple runs to get
- 1:33:18the routing down and all that because
- 1:33:20they get more complex as they go on like
- 1:33:22the layouts, all that kind of stuff.
- 1:33:23>> And they're okay. They're definitely my
- 1:33:25least favorite part compared to the
- 1:33:26normal levels, but they're okay. I don't
- 1:33:29hate them, but they're an interesting
- 1:33:31experiment. I get it. You're a dragon.
- 1:33:33You want to fly around. Yeah, you got to
- 1:33:35do something like that. So, I'm curious
- 1:33:36how that'll kind of evolve in the later
- 1:33:38game.
- 1:33:39>> But yeah, like I said, it's just a very
- 1:33:41simple game. There's some fun like
- 1:33:43movement tech later or like movement
- 1:33:44areas later on. There's like this tree
- 1:33:45top level that I guess is pretty
- 1:33:47infamous. If you want 100% everything,
- 1:33:49it could be tricky. Like I've definitely
- 1:33:51had this part throughout the game co
- 1:33:53where I've been stumped or I'm like how
- 1:33:54do I get up there
- 1:33:55>> and that's not something you like run
- 1:33:57into on games that often nowadays you
- 1:33:59know cuz got yellow paint everywhere or
- 1:34:02you
- 1:34:02>> yellow paint the legs the white
- 1:34:04character telling you
- 1:34:06>> hey let's check out over there something
- 1:34:08like that and I'm like oh this is just
- 1:34:10like cool classic platforming challenges
- 1:34:13that I like. So I was getting like
- 1:34:14stunned for a little bit. It's kind of
- 1:34:15interesting. I'm like man how do I get
- 1:34:16up there? like thinking about it, trying
- 1:34:19to stuff, dying.
- 1:34:21>> So, it's been pretty fun from that
- 1:34:22standpoint cuz I you don't get that a
- 1:34:24lot uh from newer games. So, it's been
- 1:34:26kind of uh nostalgic, I should should
- 1:34:28say.
- 1:34:29>> Uh but yeah, I dig the game. The music,
- 1:34:32like I said, is cool. The remake or the
- 1:34:33remaster looks really good. Really good.
- 1:34:36>> Yes, it does. Looks really good.
- 1:34:37>> So, shout out to Bob's there. Um yeah,
- 1:34:40simple game, but I'm enjoying it. Simple
- 1:34:42pleasures I should say with this game.
- 1:34:44Are you like I said, is this part of you
- 1:34:46also getting ready for the for the new
- 1:34:47one? Obviously getting get ratiated.
- 1:34:50Yeah.
- 1:34:50>> Yeah, I want to get ready for the new
- 1:34:51one because like
- 1:34:53it like Spyro was a game like I remember
- 1:34:55playing like a demo of it or something
- 1:34:57when I was young on PS1 and stuff like
- 1:34:58that. I'm like, "Oh, this is cool." But
- 1:35:00I just never like got around to playing
- 1:35:02>> a full game or anything like that. And
- 1:35:05it's just been kind of one of those
- 1:35:06things that I've always wanted to get
- 1:35:08to. They did the Reunited Trilogy and I
- 1:35:10was like, "Oh, nice. Finally, I'll do
- 1:35:11this." And I just never got around to
- 1:35:13it. Round to it.
- 1:35:14>> Crash Bandicoot's like this for me as
- 1:35:15well. I've never played through a Crash
- 1:35:16Bandicoot game all the way, so
- 1:35:18>> I'll need to tackle those again as well.
- 1:35:20>> Nice. The Crash series. Jason.
- 1:35:23>> Yeah, I played some of the remake and
- 1:35:24boy was that game infuriating.
- 1:35:27[laughter]
- 1:35:27>> So, I got to get back to it. I'll have
- 1:35:29to revisit those and play through them.
- 1:35:32>> So, I'm just like kind, you know,
- 1:35:33checking off some of those uh blank
- 1:35:35boxes. Blank spots.
- 1:35:36>> My gamer boxes. Yeah.
- 1:35:38>> Hell yeah.
- 1:35:39>> You ever played those games? It's like,
- 1:35:41>> bro, they judge you and they judge the
- 1:35:42hell out of you, dear. Oh my god. What
- 1:35:44you mean? You call yourself a gamer?
- 1:35:46>> Yeah. You haven't played that? I can't
- 1:35:48play everything. All right.
- 1:35:50>> It's impossible. That's just Bro, it's
- 1:35:53so funny how people get old.
- 1:35:54>> People were like, "Why didn't you play
- 1:35:55these games when they came out?" And I
- 1:35:56was like, "Dude, I was playing RPGs on
- 1:35:59PS1." That's what I was doing at the
- 1:36:01time.
- 1:36:01>> Facts. Facts. That's where I come from,
- 1:36:04too.
- 1:36:05>> Shout out Spyro. Happy to see him back.
- 1:36:07>> Hell yeah. Looking forward to the later
- 1:36:09games whenever I get to them.
- 1:36:10>> Absolutely. Shout out to Toys Football,
- 1:36:12man.
- 1:36:13>> Dope they got their independence to able
- 1:36:14to do what they want to do. And they
- 1:36:15were passionate. I remember talking to
- 1:36:17them
- 1:36:17>> at um Summer Game Fest and stuff post
- 1:36:20Xbox showcase.
- 1:36:21>> They were very hyped about Spyro. They
- 1:36:24the passion they have for that franchise
- 1:36:27>> spoke volume. So yeah, they're excited,
- 1:36:29man. For sure.
- 1:36:30>> They made Crash 4, right?
- 1:36:33>> I think so.
- 1:36:34>> I think so. Because I heard Crash
- 1:36:35Forward was like really good,
- 1:36:38>> like super underrated.
- 1:36:40>> Uh Crash Ford. I'm pretty sure they did
- 1:36:43because they did like a lot of the Yeah,
- 1:36:44Toys for Bobs because they did the Crash
- 1:36:46Insane trilogy, I think. So,
- 1:36:48>> they're in their wheelhouse right now.
- 1:36:51>> Do this for Banjo Kazouie next.
- 1:36:52>> Yeah, they need that. They need to be
- 1:36:54the stewards.
- 1:36:55>> Yeah, I think they're because I don't
- 1:36:56know about Rare anymore. I don't really
- 1:36:58know what's going on with them. So,
- 1:37:00yeah. [snorts]
- 1:37:01[laughter]
- 1:37:02About that. about that.
- 1:37:05>> Yeah.
- 1:37:06>> All right, Cog, let's do sort it out.
- 1:37:09Anything for you this week? Anything you
- 1:37:10think needs sorting?
- 1:37:12>> Yeah. Um, Matt Booty, I need you to come
- 1:37:14to the front of
- 1:37:15>> That was going to be me. Yeah,
- 1:37:17>> you need to come to the front of the
- 1:37:18congregation. See, this is why fans get
- 1:37:22frustrated. See, you're making me look
- 1:37:24bad. I I I I I've been on this platform
- 1:37:27of LSM. All LSM fans are going to laugh
- 1:37:29right now. I like transparency. I like
- 1:37:32communication, right? I don't like when
- 1:37:33companies don't talk, right? So, I want
- 1:37:35to be clear. I do like that.
- 1:37:37>> However, when you talk [laughter]
- 1:37:41can't be contradicting,
- 1:37:44not he didn't even allow enough space to
- 1:37:47go by. You have him and Matthew Ball.
- 1:37:50Matthew Ball saying one thing as far as
- 1:37:52exclusivity, right? And here comes
- 1:37:54[laughter] that booty saying a slight
- 1:37:57variant and a caveat with as far as
- 1:38:00exclusivity and you know well nothing
- 1:38:02set in stone and Xbox fans say no here
- 1:38:06we go again because a lot of Xbox fans
- 1:38:08feel you are undoing what Asha Sharma
- 1:38:11and Ma and Matthew Ball have been saying
- 1:38:14as far as exclusivity and what the
- 1:38:16thought process is as far as live
- 1:38:17service and stuff like that. But he had
- 1:38:20he felt the need to say even put it this
- 1:38:22way. Even if you felt that way thi this
- 1:38:25was not the time especially when Matt
- 1:38:27Ball is saying the opposite.
- 1:38:31>> So that's why he's kind of getting the
- 1:38:33smoke this year. Again I don't have
- 1:38:34nothing personal with with the man. It
- 1:38:36just this particular instance I could
- 1:38:38see why people are upset. It's
- 1:38:40>> so yeah Matt Booty
- 1:38:42>> sort it out [laughter] because you've
- 1:38:45got to be on the same page. Even if you
- 1:38:47don't, let's say you don't agree, you
- 1:38:49got to provide a unified front and give
- 1:38:51the perception. Have that conversation
- 1:38:53behind the scenes if you feel like maybe
- 1:38:55not everything, but you literally can't
- 1:38:57say something different right on stage
- 1:39:00or whatever this interview with Games
- 1:39:02Radar was, you know, in conjunction. So,
- 1:39:04yeah, that that's why I sort it out.
- 1:39:06It's just to me it I'm just like, how
- 1:39:08are you guys still still not on the same
- 1:39:11page?
- 1:39:13You got one guy saying one thing and you
- 1:39:15got one guy saying another. You guys
- 1:39:16have been doing this for years.
- 1:39:17[laughter]
- 1:39:18Years
- 1:39:20>> and booty. You've been in this multiple
- 1:39:21times. And
- 1:39:25it's just like once again, I don't know
- 1:39:26who to believe.
- 1:39:28>> I know.
- 1:39:28>> What is the deal?
- 1:39:29>> That's why people are always going to
- 1:39:31question. That's why people always going
- 1:39:32to have the eyebrow raised, right?
- 1:39:34Because it's these situations. I can
- 1:39:36have my idea of what I think is
- 1:39:37happening, but it doesn't matter. The
- 1:39:39perception is what you just said.
- 1:39:42>> Yeah. It's just I mean are you doing
- 1:39:45exclusives permanently? Are you not? Are
- 1:39:48you case by case basis? Like what's
- 1:39:50going on here? He said I wouldn't overly
- 1:39:52fixate on single player. He clarified. I
- 1:39:55think that's a good rule of thumb, but
- 1:39:57it isn't some something certainly that's
- 1:39:59carved into stone about exclusives. I
- 1:40:01believe in single player stuff. So, I
- 1:40:04don't know. It is like for you guys
- 1:40:06especially who are like, you know, big
- 1:40:08time in the Xbox scene. It's just like
- 1:40:10you guys have been pulled back and forth
- 1:40:13constantly, things changing. The brand
- 1:40:15is this, the brand's now that. And it's
- 1:40:18like we are in this new kind of era
- 1:40:20where Asha has been in charge. And it
- 1:40:22seems like everyone, they're getting all
- 1:40:24on the same page. But then you get
- 1:40:26people like Matt Booty who are just like
- 1:40:28saying not what you think they would
- 1:40:29say, but at the same time like Matt
- 1:40:32Booty, you should know better. Do you
- 1:40:34actually know better? like right now too
- 1:40:36much and you're saying what you
- 1:40:38shouldn't say yet
- 1:40:39>> or
- 1:40:40>> are you kind of like rebelling somewhat
- 1:40:43some or something like that trying to
- 1:40:45damage control like ease the I don't
- 1:40:47know like I said and you brought up I
- 1:40:50don't know what to think I don't know
- 1:40:52I'm not sure yeah as for especially for
- 1:40:55a company that talks as much as they do
- 1:40:57I still don't know [laughter]
- 1:40:59I feel like dude I'm not kidding every
- 1:41:02week or two I feel like something is
- 1:41:04changing Right. [laughter]
- 1:41:08>> There's like some mixed messaging. We're
- 1:41:10doing this. Okay. One week everything
- 1:41:12everyone goes with that for like a
- 1:41:13couple weeks, a month. Maybe
- 1:41:15someone says something else. It's like,
- 1:41:17whoa, whoa, hold on. Wait. You're saying
- 1:41:18this now? This kind of like that. I
- 1:41:20don't know.
- 1:41:21>> Sony's got their own problems. Like Sony
- 1:41:24doesn't talk maybe enough or sometimes
- 1:41:26they're just they [laughter] just kind
- 1:41:27of ride it out. Yeah,
- 1:41:29>> but at least I guess they don't have
- 1:41:30someone contradicting each other like
- 1:41:33two high
- 1:41:34>> highle people essentially.
- 1:41:36>> Yeah.
- 1:41:37>> So, my guess is Cog, my theory is
- 1:41:41they're waiting to see how things do
- 1:41:42this year and
- 1:41:45uh of course they're going to see wait
- 1:41:47to see how uh Gears and that's probably
- 1:41:50the main one in Clockwork. See how they
- 1:41:51perform to
- 1:41:52>> kind of go from there is my guess.
- 1:41:55>> Okay, I see what you say. But so maybe
- 1:41:57they're not trying to commit too hard to
- 1:41:59which way yet
- 1:42:02>> like a hedging like a booty's comment
- 1:42:05kind of read like I'm hedging my bet.
- 1:42:07I'm giving myself an out giving us an
- 1:42:09out just in case kind of energy
- 1:42:11>> in case something changes. Yeah. Like
- 1:42:13but if like if Gears does really well
- 1:42:16for them being a console exclusive and
- 1:42:18whatever and Clockwork and they go
- 1:42:20further in that direction they be like
- 1:42:22>> wait we're all good. But in case things
- 1:42:24change and they start going the more
- 1:42:26multiplatform strategy again, they'll be
- 1:42:27like, "Hey dudes, like
- 1:42:29>> we told you.
- 1:42:30>> We told you not to get too comfortable."
- 1:42:32So
- 1:42:33>> very,
- 1:42:34>> yeah,
- 1:42:37it's crazy.
- 1:42:38>> It's crazy.
- 1:42:39>> Always on Xbox.
- 1:42:40>> Yeah, I saw Maddie saying some [ __ ] He
- 1:42:42was like, "Just shut up." Or something
- 1:42:44like that. [laughter]
- 1:42:47>> Classic classic Xbox. You never have
- 1:42:50enough to talk about.
- 1:42:51>> Yeah. Yeah. Justin Marian wrote in said,
- 1:42:54"Sort it out to the physical games
- 1:42:57clowns harassing people online."
- 1:43:00>> This has been like a contentious topic
- 1:43:01obviously.
- 1:43:03>> Being rude and harassing devs, small and
- 1:43:05large, is only hurting the game industry
- 1:43:07and the people making games. And for
- 1:43:08what? To try to get a disc that doesn't
- 1:43:10have the full game on it. Anyways,
- 1:43:13you're not getting Sony to redesign the
- 1:43:15PS6 and invest new discs to fit these
- 1:43:18large games on them. I now have a Legend
- 1:43:21Digital Deluxe Premium pre-orders
- 1:43:23through PSN to show support and disdain
- 1:43:27for these idiots.
- 1:43:30>> Damn.
- 1:43:30>> Throw it out and see who need a
- 1:43:32therapist.
- 1:43:34>> Damn, Justin.
- 1:43:36>> Justin, we got name and shame. We wrote
- 1:43:38[laughter]
- 1:43:38>> Yeah, he's standing up business.
- 1:43:41>> We dude, we got some spicy ones this
- 1:43:42week, dude. I think we have a counter
- 1:43:44for that later on, too. So, I wanted to
- 1:43:46throw those both in.
- 1:43:47>> Mhm. And just to be clear, all these
- 1:43:49sorted outs, I don't necessarily endorse
- 1:43:51any of them or condone any of them. I
- 1:43:53just think they're funny and I want to
- 1:43:54put them on the show.
- 1:43:56>> Absolutely. You got
- 1:43:57>> That's all I'm saying.
- 1:43:58>> Mhm.
- 1:43:59>> Okay, dude. He's calling people idiots,
- 1:44:02dude. [laughter]
- 1:44:03>> Hilario, he going in.
- 1:44:04>> Yeah, he's going in.
- 1:44:05>> That's walk Forward cut scene wrote a
- 1:44:08great name.
- 1:44:10>> My sorted out is for all the fake
- 1:44:12outrage surrounding ID software.
- 1:44:16shot right at Colin. If you're so upset
- 1:44:18about the layoffs, why didn't you play
- 1:44:19the Dark Ages? And why aren't you
- 1:44:21playing the Rev uh Revelations expansion
- 1:44:23right now?
- 1:44:25>> It plays much more like Eternal.
- 1:44:27>> Don't even think about using Day One
- 1:44:29Game Pass as an excuse when Expedition
- 1:44:3133 and Oblivion launched a month prior
- 1:44:33and crushed it while also being Day One
- 1:44:36Game Pass games. Even Stalker 2
- 1:44:38outperformed it and that game was
- 1:44:40broken.
- 1:44:43I mean, I get the sentiment. I get the
- 1:44:46sentiment. And um, you know, it's tough.
- 1:44:48Look, I don't want to minimize, you
- 1:44:51know, the the the the gutting of the
- 1:44:53studio. Like, my main thing is the
- 1:44:56luminaries that were lost. That's my
- 1:44:58thing. Like, damn, they lost
- 1:45:00>> really veteran leadership, veteran guys
- 1:45:02who really understand that tech. And
- 1:45:04yeah, the fear at first was like, whoa,
- 1:45:06like, you know, are they just a shell of
- 1:45:08them? I was worried they were going to
- 1:45:10be turn 10 to be honest with you. We're
- 1:45:12just like we just keep it around, you
- 1:45:14know, kind of thing. So I am glad that
- 1:45:17they got in front of it. The studio made
- 1:45:18a statement. I am glad that Hugo
- 1:45:21>> Yeah.
- 1:45:22>> Martin got in front of it. That's huge
- 1:45:23because again he just did he's he's
- 1:45:25steward of you know the Doom the Dark
- 1:45:27Ages and everything that's going on
- 1:45:28right now just the Doom franchise right
- 1:45:29now. And for him to say, "Okay, look,
- 1:45:32we're still, you know, as big as we were
- 1:45:34in 2016 and, you know, we're still doing
- 1:45:37obviously Tom Warren put out the report
- 1:45:39they're doing, they still have a do
- 1:45:40project." So, I was like, "Okay, cool."
- 1:45:41That gave me hope. I'm like, "All right,
- 1:45:43cool." Now, I'm still not defending them
- 1:45:45being gutted. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:45:46But if they're coming out, this how this
- 1:45:48how I look at it in corporate.
- 1:45:52If you don't agree with what's going on
- 1:45:56vehemently, you don't have to put out no
- 1:45:59public statement doing anything,
- 1:46:01>> right?
- 1:46:01>> Cuz you could just be like, "Look, I
- 1:46:03ain't really feeling this." And I, you
- 1:46:04know, especially if you're a studio
- 1:46:06lead, it's harder. I feel like for a a
- 1:46:09Hugo or a Todd Hart like if they're not
- 1:46:11truly now granted they may not like
- 1:46:13everything
- 1:46:14>> but if they're disgusted
- 1:46:17you don't get out there and say hey you
- 1:46:19know things are not that bad guy things
- 1:46:22are great not you know not great but you
- 1:46:23know what I'm saying like things are
- 1:46:24okay guys you know let kind of soo the
- 1:46:26savage so look yes it's part PR spin we
- 1:46:29ain't going we're not fools here part of
- 1:46:31his PR spill we got to we got to soo the
- 1:46:33savage beast but there's a part of them
- 1:46:35this is the point I'm trying to tell
- 1:46:37they've been given some form of
- 1:46:39asurances of things that they want cuz
- 1:46:42then you're more inclined to make a
- 1:46:43public statement and say, "Hey, you
- 1:46:45know, it's not as bad cuz maybe they
- 1:46:47told you, hey, okay, we did we we we
- 1:46:49gutted this, but you're going to get
- 1:46:50this, you're going to get that or we may
- 1:46:52build whatever the promises were. That's
- 1:46:55how corporate works. So that's why when
- 1:46:56I see him and tell, oh, they're giving
- 1:46:59you something because you you now want
- 1:47:01to jump in front of it because normally
- 1:47:02you wouldn't say anything.
- 1:47:04>> Yeah. You've been incentivized is what
- 1:47:06I've been trying to say.
- 1:47:06>> Yeah, totally. Totally.
- 1:47:08>> Yeah.
- 1:47:08>> Yeah. You know, I was kind of surprised
- 1:47:10to hear they said they were working on
- 1:47:11Doom again. I don't know if that means
- 1:47:13necessarily just like an expansion again
- 1:47:15or something smaller,
- 1:47:16>> but I was kind of hoping they'd try
- 1:47:17something different to space it out.
- 1:47:19>> To space it out.
- 1:47:20>> Don't get me wrong, I love Doom. I love
- 1:47:22Doom. I don't want Doom to go anywhere,
- 1:47:24but like maybe throw in a Quake there.
- 1:47:25See what their version of Quake would be
- 1:47:27now or something like that. Or something
- 1:47:28completely new maybe. I'm not sure.
- 1:47:31But um
- 1:47:32>> yeah, whatever they're going to do. I
- 1:47:34like it. So looking forward to whatever
- 1:47:35game they got coming.
- 1:47:36>> Yeah, I'm glad there for sure.
- 1:47:38>> All right, Marcus wrote in and said,
- 1:47:41"Sort it out to myself.
- 1:47:45I am a big physical collector and when
- 1:47:47Xbox games started coming to
- 1:47:49PlayStation, I wanted the discs, but
- 1:47:51sadly I'm strict on discs not being
- 1:47:53coasters. Indiana Jones, Fortza 5, The
- 1:47:57Outer Worlds 2, all not complete on
- 1:47:59disc,
- 1:48:00>> but I'm a hypocrite. I need Halo. Yes,
- 1:48:03it's a coaster, but I need that coaster
- 1:48:05in my collection. Screw you, Xbox, for
- 1:48:08never putting games on disc, apart from
- 1:48:11Gears Reload being complete. And screw
- 1:48:14you, PlayStation, for taking away discs.
- 1:48:16Sort it out to myself for still buying.
- 1:48:18Have a good day, Jed. I love these kind
- 1:48:21of ones. the call outs, but they're
- 1:48:23like, "I'm guilty of it, though.
- 1:48:25Everyone's got a price."
- 1:48:28>> Million dollar man. The million dollar
- 1:48:30man.
- 1:48:31>> Yeah. Classic. Well said. Well said.
- 1:48:33It's It's that. It's
- 1:48:35>> And they know it. That's the sad part.
- 1:48:37They know it. They know it. They like,
- 1:48:38"You ain't going anywhere.
- 1:48:40>> You ain't going to do shit."
- 1:48:42>> Exact. [laughter] You know do them. You
- 1:48:44know how they do it.
- 1:48:45>> Yeah.
- 1:48:45>> I don't care what it I feel it was a
- 1:48:48coordinated strategic move. This is kind
- 1:48:51of genius by Sony. They go, "Okay, we
- 1:48:53want to do we want to get rid of this
- 1:48:55physical media. We want this out of
- 1:48:56here."
- 1:48:57>> So, what we'll do is we have the
- 1:48:59marketing. We're Rockstar.
- 1:49:01>> Yeah.
- 1:49:02>> Send GTA out there first.
- 1:49:05>> Yeah.
- 1:49:05>> Digital only.
- 1:49:06>> Let's see what happened.
- 1:49:07>> Yeah. You ain't going to buy GTA because
- 1:49:09of digital.
- 1:49:09>> You ain't gonna buy GTA. You ain't going
- 1:49:10to buy Gert. Okay. Yeah. Exactly.
- 1:49:12[laughter]
- 1:49:14>> They saw they said, "Yep. All right. Got
- 1:49:16them." Yeah.
- 1:49:16>> Now, [laughter]
- 1:49:18>> PlayStation, we're no longer at. And
- 1:49:20they they're letting you know now
- 1:49:22>> because they know. All they got to do is
- 1:49:24send send you a shiny GTA. Dudes already
- 1:49:28sold they sold for 10 pieces of silver
- 1:49:29for some Call of Duty Black Ops digital.
- 1:49:32People already people put their tiki
- 1:49:34torches down quick.
- 1:49:36>> I was like like it's [ __ ] You're like
- 1:49:38talking like it's Judas like selling
- 1:49:40[laughter]
- 1:49:42ratt Jesus to the Romans.
- 1:49:44>> They ratted out Jesus. They sold. They
- 1:49:46sold for 10 pieces of silver and a Call
- 1:49:49of Duty. They was like, "Oh my god,
- 1:49:50that's the greatest Black Ops. I love
- 1:49:52it." Yeah, Call of Duty Black Ops one
- 1:49:54and two. That was like a week later.
- 1:49:56That was so funny.
- 1:49:57>> They were like, "We got them." I it
- 1:49:59again, I don't want to. Our physical
- 1:50:01bros are really bad right now.
- 1:50:03>> And I want to be respectful cuz look, I
- 1:50:05do agree. Yes, we should have options,
- 1:50:06bro. We should have options like the
- 1:50:08option.
- 1:50:08>> Yeah. put an attachment because what we
- 1:50:10don't like is don't in the same breath
- 1:50:14force F digital right but then say yeah
- 1:50:18oh by the way our legacy your PS3 and VA
- 1:50:22those we're just randomly taking them
- 1:50:23off the bro that's scary now that now
- 1:50:26you've got the power to just wake up one
- 1:50:29day and just take things off that I hate
- 1:50:32that so that's the part I wish they need
- 1:50:34we need to have like in my opinion like
- 1:50:36um you know like GOG has like some type
- 1:50:39of digital preservation. That's not
- 1:50:42where we have to go now. So that's the
- 1:50:43fight. I think that's the real fight now
- 1:50:45cuz digital's happening. But that that
- 1:50:47was it was just I didn't like them
- 1:50:48pulling away. I love Vita. Like I'm a VA
- 1:50:51guy.
- 1:50:52>> I was like, damn, bro. You just going to
- 1:50:54just yank these things, you know, from
- 1:50:56people. So that that's the thing. So
- 1:50:58yeah, hopefully we could get to that
- 1:51:00that level.
- 1:51:00>> You know what's funny is like I saw that
- 1:51:01kind of stuff
- 1:51:02>> and I'm used to Nintendo just shutting
- 1:51:05down stores real quick. So I like was
- 1:51:08like the the meme first time kind of
- 1:51:10thing seeing that
- 1:51:11>> we all sitting there with the with the
- 1:51:13[laughter] news. Yeah.
- 1:51:14>> First time. [clears throat]
- 1:51:16>> Yeah. Like well because Yeah. I'm like
- 1:51:193DS Story got shut down a while ago.
- 1:51:21Like they just ready to kill those
- 1:51:22[ __ ] things as soon as possible. And
- 1:51:24Nintendo's not great about old games
- 1:51:27being able to access them a lot of their
- 1:51:28old games. I mean they got better at it
- 1:51:31but it's like
- 1:51:32>> can't buy it. I can't buy them.
- 1:51:34>> You can't I know.
- 1:51:35>> Can't buy it. Got to rent him.
- 1:51:38>> Tough time, brother. Hondo.
- 1:51:39>> You gotta You gotta pick your battles
- 1:51:40and take your victories when you can get
- 1:51:42them.
- 1:51:42>> 100%.
- 1:51:44>> All right, Cog, keep it up. The exact
- 1:51:46opposite.
- 1:51:47>> You got anything?
- 1:51:48>> Yes, I do. Um, keep it up, Josh Sawyer.
- 1:51:52>> Oh, yeah. I just saw this thing you're
- 1:51:55probably talking about today.
- 1:51:57>> Yes. So, well, some something new
- 1:52:00happened today. Let me know cuz I
- 1:52:01>> I don't know. Well, I just saw something
- 1:52:03today with it. It was like it was him
- 1:52:05talking about
- 1:52:07>> he was playing Fallout I think uh New
- 1:52:09Vegas and he was talking about the
- 1:52:10creation engine and how great it was but
- 1:52:12then he was also just saying how buggy
- 1:52:14it is the entire time and [laughter] I
- 1:52:16was like that's so funny. I love that
- 1:52:17[ __ ]
- 1:52:18>> I love bro Josh is a real one like it be
- 1:52:21I I never thought we got I get a chance
- 1:52:23to um interview him. This is when
- 1:52:24Ultimate existed, right? Duke Ultimate
- 1:52:27existed back then and we got him in for
- 1:52:29uh
- 1:52:30>> bro one of the more brilliant minds.
- 1:52:32That guy is he's like not only is an
- 1:52:34amazing game developer, he's like an
- 1:52:36amazing historian. He's like he's just a
- 1:52:39brilliant guy. He's one of the smartest
- 1:52:41guys in the room kind of guy. You know
- 1:52:43what I mean? So it's just like you kind
- 1:52:44of like you got to be on your aame
- 1:52:46talking.
- 1:52:47>> Yeah. It's like talking about co you're
- 1:52:49like oh [ __ ]
- 1:52:50>> don't want to blow it for this guy.
- 1:52:52>> Exactly. So yeah, like but one thing
- 1:52:55that I I gave him credit was like, you
- 1:52:57know, I know a lot of people get crap,
- 1:52:58you know, with Phil with the whole like,
- 1:52:59hey, um, they allow uh, studios to run
- 1:53:02rampant, too much creative fear. And
- 1:53:04that's fair. I think there's some
- 1:53:05fairness to that. But also, I always
- 1:53:06tell people,
- 1:53:08>> listen to our Josh Sawyer interview
- 1:53:09because what you realize was that these
- 1:53:12companies were like, we're not signing
- 1:53:13with you, Xbox, because your history was
- 1:53:15meddling and doing too much and we need
- 1:53:18assurances that we are going to have.
- 1:53:20So, so part of his thing was like,
- 1:53:23>> I'm not joining unless my project gets
- 1:53:26released
- 1:53:28>> and it was his side project which was
- 1:53:30pentiment and he had a smirk when he
- 1:53:32told us this. I was like, so I stopped.
- 1:53:34I said, "Wait a minute, Josh. You just
- 1:53:36say that." I was like, he's like, "Yeah,
- 1:53:37yeah." And he said, "I I flex some
- 1:53:39creative muscle there." And I was like,
- 1:53:40"Ah, that's how we got pepper." But re
- 1:53:44realistically what I I'm happy to keep
- 1:53:46it up is that not only that a lot of
- 1:53:50Fallout fans love the Vegas, right?
- 1:53:53>> They love, you know, Obsidian and we
- 1:53:56just didn't understand like what is
- 1:53:58going on? Why can't this happen? So to
- 1:54:01hear the news that Josh Sawyer is going
- 1:54:03to be leading an Obsidianled
- 1:54:06mainline Fallout game is amazing and I'm
- 1:54:10super happy for him because no
- 1:54:11disrespect to Bethesda. Bethesda makes
- 1:54:13great open worlds I feel. But when it
- 1:54:15comes to narrative and choice and
- 1:54:18consequence, I feel Obsidian is way
- 1:54:19better especially
- 1:54:22Sawyer that's peak Obsidian to me. So
- 1:54:28him I would just love to be a fly on the
- 1:54:30wall just see him talking to you know
- 1:54:32Todd or whatever and I'm just so happy
- 1:54:35because that was my dream. No disrespect
- 1:54:37the pentiment out cuz I will got to
- 1:54:39throw a little pentiment slander in the
- 1:54:41sense that I would when when they told
- 1:54:43me yo Josh Sor's got a game coming. I
- 1:54:45didn't know what it was. I was like oh
- 1:54:47if I brought up I'm like double A and I
- 1:54:50was like oh it's Bible stories the game.
- 1:54:52Oh, [laughter] like like I I wasn't
- 1:54:54expecting that. Like I And don't get me
- 1:54:56wrong, Pentiment is amazing. It just
- 1:54:59wasn't what I thought. So now I was like
- 1:55:01it's like Sawyer with a budget. Sawyer
- 1:55:04with a IP.
- 1:55:06>> Super happy for him. So I'm sorry. Keep
- 1:55:08it up Joshua. You a hustler, man.
- 1:55:09Whatever you doing in the building,
- 1:55:11baby. I like what you do. You fought
- 1:55:13because that means he wants to do this.
- 1:55:15That's what I think people to realize.
- 1:55:17Numinaries don't just, you know, if they
- 1:55:19don't agree with something, they like,
- 1:55:20"Yo, I'm out.
- 1:55:22I know this guy's person. He's shown it
- 1:55:24to me that if he doesn't get what he
- 1:55:26wants, he ain't doing it. So, the fact
- 1:55:29that he's doing a mainline fallout game,
- 1:55:32whether that question is going to be
- 1:55:33whether it's creation engine, which you
- 1:55:36said like I say choked in the past, is
- 1:55:38that a mandate by Bethesda say, "Okay,
- 1:55:40look, we gave you the IP, but you got to
- 1:55:43use because we need mods, we need, you
- 1:55:45know what I mean?" That's a good
- 1:55:47question. Or does Josh push back and say
- 1:55:50look ours is kind of a different take
- 1:55:52and we are comfortable as a studio cuz
- 1:55:54remember Obsidian just uses Unreal.
- 1:55:56Yeah, I was gonna ask you. Yeah. What
- 1:55:58they use,
- 1:55:58>> right? So, that's gonna be the real
- 1:56:02question. I would love to be a father of
- 1:56:03development, but yeah, shout out to
- 1:56:04Sawya, man. He But that man's a hustler.
- 1:56:08Something else, man. I like
- 1:56:09>> I guess it's like, is it important for
- 1:56:10you to be able to pick up cheese and
- 1:56:13store it in a room, I guess, in my house
- 1:56:15to you?
- 1:56:15>> That's a good question.
- 1:56:16>> Use Creation Engine. But it's a tough
- 1:56:18one though, Brad, because even though I
- 1:56:20agree like is that necessary if they're
- 1:56:22doing a spin, the the thing that I know
- 1:56:25a lot of people that don't like
- 1:56:26Bethesda, we got to give them this. I
- 1:56:27know people don't like Starfield or
- 1:56:28whatever, but why these games resonate,
- 1:56:31they almost because of the sandbox
- 1:56:33nature, they're almost like live service
- 1:56:35single player games. I can mod it. I can
- 1:56:37come back. I can create my own crank, my
- 1:56:39own missions, my own, you know, reality
- 1:56:43based on the things I can manipulate in
- 1:56:44the world. And people love that. And I
- 1:56:47think see this is going to be Sawyer's
- 1:56:49fight. He not that he's going to get
- 1:56:51bullied into it, but I know corporate
- 1:56:54Asha and I'm going to be like, "Yeah,
- 1:56:55how much money we make on mods and why
- 1:56:57don't we have that in your you know, I'm
- 1:57:00curious about those conversations." That
- 1:57:02gets interesting.
- 1:57:03>> Yeah. I guess my thing for him would be
- 1:57:05if he is considering using Unreal.
- 1:57:07>> Mhm.
- 1:57:08>> It'd be like it's just way more
- 1:57:10efficient
- 1:57:11>> and it's we can get talent on this way
- 1:57:14easier.
- 1:57:15>> Yes. More people know how to use Unreal
- 1:57:16than Creation.
- 1:57:17>> 100%. Yes. Good call out.
- 1:57:19>> So maybe it'll be just speed up the
- 1:57:20process. It just depends what their
- 1:57:22plans are with the game, I guess, or
- 1:57:23whatever their vision is like you were
- 1:57:25saying. Yeah.
- 1:57:25>> Yeah.
- 1:57:26>> Case by case. Uh I have two actually,
- 1:57:28but one of them was going to be them
- 1:57:31>> getting these Fallout projects in line
- 1:57:33because I agree with you and Maddie, you
- 1:57:35guys have been saying this for years is
- 1:57:36like how is there no Fallout anything?
- 1:57:39You have 76, but that's not like the
- 1:57:41main thing. It's a thing and it can
- 1:57:44please some Fallout fans, but Fallout is
- 1:57:46like mainly a a single player franchise.
- 1:57:49It's like with Final Fantasy, you know,
- 1:57:53you have the online games, but you also
- 1:57:55have the standalone single player ones
- 1:57:57still. Those still coming. So, you know,
- 1:57:59you feed the soul that way.
- 1:58:00>> Oh, yeah.
- 1:58:01>> But now you're making it happen, and
- 1:58:03that's great. I think Obsidian making
- 1:58:05one makes a whole lot of sense, and it
- 1:58:07should have happened a long time ago,
- 1:58:09depending on if they wanted to or not. I
- 1:58:10have no idea if Obsidian wanted to
- 1:58:13anyways and whatever how protective Todd
- 1:58:15was of [clears throat] Fallout and all
- 1:58:18that kind of stuff. Asha is like no
- 1:58:22I that like that's the kind of
- 1:58:23leadership we need. Like I understand
- 1:58:24Phil had a completely different
- 1:58:26relationship with them. They seem like
- 1:58:27good friends with each other, but this
- 1:58:28seems more like business time right now.
- 1:58:31>> Yep.
- 1:58:31>> And I think that's what's needed right
- 1:58:33now.
- 1:58:34>> So I'm happy about that. Uh
- 1:58:37did are they doing another Fallout game?
- 1:58:39The did um Bethesda say like they're
- 1:58:42starting work on Fallout 5 or whatever.
- 1:58:44>> Fallout 5. Yeah.
- 1:58:45>> Okay. So that's great.
- 1:58:46>> Yeah.
- 1:58:47>> I will say though the other hand these
- 1:58:50games are far away.
- 1:58:52>> And this reminds me of this won't it
- 1:58:54won't be probably the same case but it
- 1:58:55reminds me of Elder Scrolls.
- 1:58:57>> Oh man.
- 1:58:58>> It reminds me of like [laughter]
- 1:59:00look guys, we know everyone hates us
- 1:59:02right now. We know the chips are down.
- 1:59:04Uh, break the [ __ ] GLASS. WE'RE
- 1:59:07MAKING FALLOUT.
- 1:59:09We're not going to show you dick. Not
- 1:59:10even a logo, though. Nothing. But it
- 1:59:13exists. It's like, okay.
- 1:59:15>> But at this point,
- 1:59:17>> I think people are okay with that cuz
- 1:59:18they just want acknowledgement that it's
- 1:59:20happening. Like Maddie [ __ ] over the
- 1:59:22moon,
- 1:59:23>> bro. Living his best life.
- 1:59:25>> Living his best life right now. He's
- 1:59:26living his best life with that Cotor
- 1:59:28thing. Like,
- 1:59:29>> yes. This this poor boy had Cotor remake
- 1:59:32announced a while ago and that thing is
- 1:59:34just like I don't even know what the
- 1:59:36[ __ ] going on with that game.
- 1:59:37[laughter]
- 1:59:38>> So, he needs some wins. So, hopefully he
- 1:59:40can get that. And honestly,
- 1:59:43I think with Fallout
- 1:59:46>> from Obsidian, it'll get more eyes on
- 1:59:48that company again
- 1:59:50>> and they'll kind of get maybe more
- 1:59:52respect. I don't think they get as much
- 1:59:53respect as they deserve. I don't think
- 1:59:55they're like top of the line developer
- 1:59:59>> or anything like that, but I think they
- 2:00:00are underrated in a lot of regards.
- 2:00:02>> No.
- 2:00:03>> So hopefully like I mean I didn't play
- 2:00:05about it. Didn't look very interesting
- 2:00:06to me and I know a lot of people liked
- 2:00:08it, but like
- 2:00:10>> let's be real. It hasn't been received
- 2:00:11that well.
- 2:00:12>> No players. It's it's it's what is it 82
- 2:00:16or something like that? 83. Whatever.
- 2:00:18Good solid game. Some flaws for sure.
- 2:00:21But um yeah, we're not going to sit
- 2:00:22here. I'm not going to sit here and tell
- 2:00:23you, "Oh, yeah, it's critically."
- 2:00:25>> I'm just saying like perception western
- 2:00:27players like
- 2:00:28>> that game's like already out of
- 2:00:30everybody's mind. No one gives a [ __ ]
- 2:00:31about it anymore.
- 2:00:32>> For sure. For sure. But yeah.
- 2:00:33>> So, and sadly Outer Worlds 2 kind of
- 2:00:36seems like that happened as well. I I
- 2:00:39heard Maddie and Lock really liked it,
- 2:00:41so that's good. But
- 2:00:43>> no one's not enough people are playing
- 2:00:44it. It's like
- 2:00:46>> sales
- 2:00:46>> kind of people just like skipping over
- 2:00:48it. So maybe this will get more eyes on
- 2:00:50them again, which would be great
- 2:00:51>> cuz I would love that. You know, they're
- 2:00:52they're a local dev for me.
- 2:00:54>> They're like 10 minutes from me. So I
- 2:00:56want these I want these guys to do well.
- 2:00:59You know, I got to support the local
- 2:01:00team.
- 2:01:01>> Absolutely.
- 2:01:01>> Them Blizzard right there. Yeah. It's
- 2:01:03like got to support those boys. I'm
- 2:01:04hoping I'm hoping the best for them. So
- 2:01:06>> No, it's a good point.
- 2:01:07>> Very excited. I'm actually more excited
- 2:01:09about their version of Fallout than
- 2:01:12Bethesda's.
- 2:01:13>> I think that's more interesting,
- 2:01:16>> bro.
- 2:01:18Oh. Uhoh. Careful.
- 2:01:19>> Just [ __ ] Bethesda, MAN. JUST
- 2:01:22[laughter]
- 2:01:23pisses me off, dude.
- 2:01:24>> Get your [clears throat] piss.
- 2:01:25>> You got you got your asses [ __ ] beat
- 2:01:27by The Witcher 3 with Fallout 4. Beat
- 2:01:31hard.
- 2:01:33>> Then you come out with Starfield, which
- 2:01:35I didn't love.
- 2:01:37>> I played 11 hours of it. Didn't love it.
- 2:01:39I know people love it. You love it. Cog
- 2:01:41lo or of course Cog Jean loves it.
- 2:01:43Maddie, I think enjoyed it.
- 2:01:46But they've been getting their asses
- 2:01:47beat in the RPG. They used to be the
- 2:01:49premier western RPG studio. They've been
- 2:01:51getting their asses kicked for a while.
- 2:01:53So hopefully they can get back in
- 2:01:55action. You know,
- 2:01:56>> I feel you.
- 2:01:57>> I dude, please. Just like
- 2:02:00>> how many times do we still got to do the
- 2:02:03like the awkward camera zoom to talk to
- 2:02:05an NPC that zooms in a little to the
- 2:02:08face? Can we just do something else?
- 2:02:09Like I understand you want to keep it
- 2:02:11immersive, but like
- 2:02:12>> that's real.
- 2:02:12>> Can't you think of something better at
- 2:02:14this point?
- 2:02:15I don't know. Maybe they'll work on
- 2:02:16that. That's like a pet peeve of mine,
- 2:02:18bro. You got to work on those loading
- 2:02:22screens
- 2:02:23>> enough, man. Like, I was playing
- 2:02:25Oblivion Remastered. And I know Oblivion
- 2:02:27is an older game, but it's like [ __ ]
- 2:02:29a loading screen to go upstairs to the
- 2:02:31house that I already have to load to go
- 2:02:33into. Damn it, Brett. [laughter] Like, I
- 2:02:37remember had a lot of loading screens,
- 2:02:38too. I'm like, come on, guys. Like if is
- 2:02:41this like because of the creation engine
- 2:02:44this is the price to pay? I don't want
- 2:02:45to pay that price.
- 2:02:46>> What you you don't want to like
- 2:02:48manipulate 35 million oranges and
- 2:02:50potatoes in the world?
- 2:02:51>> I don't give a [ __ ] about that at all.
- 2:02:53Well, you could pick up every ad. It's
- 2:02:54like I don't give a [ __ ] about
- 2:02:56[laughter] this Coke bottle or whatever
- 2:02:59you're going to find here.
- 2:03:00>> You're clearly looking forward to the
- 2:03:01Obsidian versions. [laughter]
- 2:03:02>> Yeah, it's like don't get me wrong, it's
- 2:03:05cool that you could do that stuff. I is
- 2:03:07really cool. I respect tech like that,
- 2:03:08but it's like at what cost though.
- 2:03:10>> No fair to me. That's the cost. I know
- 2:03:12that's
- 2:03:12>> I'm going to be I am a non-expert in
- 2:03:14this stuff whatsoever. I have no idea
- 2:03:17truly. But I'm just saying as a casual
- 2:03:18player of these games, that's the
- 2:03:20feeling I'm getting.
- 2:03:21>> I got you. I got you. Look,
- 2:03:23>> we'll see. Sorry that turned into a
- 2:03:24sorted out real quick.
- 2:03:25>> I love it. I love it. No, this is good.
- 2:03:27I'm learning about your tastes and but
- 2:03:30to your point, you're honest about
- 2:03:32you're like, "Look, I don't care about
- 2:03:34that aspect, right, of of of
- 2:03:36manipulating every object." I Why are
- 2:03:38you with the antiquated turnaround? Why
- 2:03:40are you with the the Lotus? These are
- 2:03:43valid Bethesda creation engine
- 2:03:45criticisms. I don't think there's
- 2:03:46anything wrong in in what you said in
- 2:03:48that regard. And then I I think the
- 2:03:50point that resonated the most where a
- 2:03:52lot of people agree with you is they
- 2:03:54feel the champ. I mean, Bethesda was the
- 2:03:57champ.
- 2:03:58>> They were the champ. They were,
- 2:03:59>> right? So, a lot of people feel like,
- 2:04:01"Yo, the champ, he been rock." Like,
- 2:04:03people done lapped him now, right?
- 2:04:05People will say, they will say, "Look at
- 2:04:07what Larry's doing." Right. They say,
- 2:04:09"Look at what you project."
- 2:04:12>> Project. You made a good point. I forgot
- 2:04:14when Fallout 4 dropped. It was The
- 2:04:16Witcher right there. I forgot about
- 2:04:19that. And that was the the matchup.
- 2:04:21People were like, it it was a clearcut
- 2:04:24with it because a lot, not that Fallout
- 2:04:254 was terrible, but people didn't like
- 2:04:27the voice protagonist. People didn't
- 2:04:29feel it was RPG enough.
- 2:04:31>> Yeah.
- 2:04:32>> That they felt like they casualized a
- 2:04:34little bit of certain things with
- 2:04:35Fallout
- 2:04:36>> 4 cuz I believe I played Fallout. Let me
- 2:04:38see. Just we clarify. I think Fallout 4
- 2:04:40I want to see when this came out
- 2:04:42exactly. November. Okay.
- 2:04:44>> Yeah.
- 2:04:44>> And The Witcher.
- 2:04:46>> When The Witcher 3 come out? I feel like
- 2:04:47they were around the same time. Did we
- 2:04:48get that?
- 2:04:49>> May. No, sorry. I was going to say I'm
- 2:04:50pretty sure I played The Witcher.
- 2:04:52>> Okay. But they were like the same year.
- 2:04:53Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, I know I wasn't
- 2:04:55completely off, but I remember it was
- 2:04:56the comparison cuz Witcher 3 was it was
- 2:04:58that
- 2:04:58>> cuz that happened to me cuz I played
- 2:05:00Witcher 3 then I played Fallout like
- 2:05:03sometime after that and I was like,
- 2:05:04"What the [ __ ] dude?
- 2:05:06>> What the [ __ ]
- 2:05:08>> You wasn't feeling vats. YOU WASN'T
- 2:05:09FEELING
- 2:05:10>> NO, I like I actually really like the
- 2:05:11bat system. I think the vats are super
- 2:05:13cool. I really like it. But I think it
- 2:05:16was more of just kind of not pushing
- 2:05:19forward. Like I played Fallout 3 and I
- 2:05:22liked Fallout 3. I was like, "Oh, this
- 2:05:23is cool." That was my first Fallout
- 2:05:24game.
- 2:05:25>> Okay.
- 2:05:25>> And I'm a very I'm a total noob and like
- 2:05:28novice into all the Bethesda like RPGs
- 2:05:30and all that kind of stuff.
- 2:05:31>> Mhm.
- 2:05:32>> So, but then I played four.
- 2:05:34>> Mhm.
- 2:05:34>> And I was [clears throat] like, man,
- 2:05:35this doesn't seem like
- 2:05:38that big of a leap to me.
- 2:05:40>> Especially because, you know, Fallout 3
- 2:05:41was PS3 era and this was PS4 era. Yes.
- 2:05:45>> And like Fallout 4, I love I love
- 2:05:47Valentine though, the the synth guy.
- 2:05:48That guy's tight.
- 2:05:50>> But I was like this base building thing,
- 2:05:52I'm like this I don't this doesn't work.
- 2:05:54I don't think. And it's just I don't
- 2:05:56know. It didn't impress me when The
- 2:05:57Witcher like three and I've played
- 2:05:59Witcher one and two before that and that
- 2:06:01game like really impressed me where I
- 2:06:02was like, whoa,
- 2:06:04>> this game's [ __ ] insane.
- 2:06:06>> Oh yeah.
- 2:06:07>> I played Fall. I was like, oh, okay.
- 2:06:09Yeah. It's like, okay, more the same to
- 2:06:11you. We're a little safe. And like
- 2:06:14it's because you know like these guys
- 2:06:15made Skyrim and [ __ ] in Oblivion which
- 2:06:17are incredible games.
- 2:06:19>> So it's just like weird to me. They just
- 2:06:21didn't like
- 2:06:23>> push the envelope like I expected. It's
- 2:06:26kind of like damn like this is fine but
- 2:06:28kind of expected more. I guess
- 2:06:30>> I get you. I get you.
- 2:06:31>> So that I need that like ambitious
- 2:06:35>> but like
- 2:06:36>> truly Yeah.
- 2:06:37>> Runs good as well from them.
- 2:06:39>> Yes. Yes. Your game's got to run good,
- 2:06:41man. Like Oblivion Remastered still not
- 2:06:43running good. [laughter] It's like you
- 2:06:45can't just abandon stuff like that, man.
- 2:06:47>> Yeah, that's not good. Look, I hate that
- 2:06:49about that. That they have a in my
- 2:06:51opinion a major QA issue. I I don't want
- 2:06:54to Yeah. I don't want to give them the
- 2:06:55out like, oh, that's just the charm.
- 2:06:57Like, no. Like, okay. It's one thing.
- 2:06:59>> I think the charm is okay for like a
- 2:07:01game or two.
- 2:07:02>> Yeah.
- 2:07:02>> Like, I remember when Skyrim came out,
- 2:07:04Cog, you remember this? Like people
- 2:07:06laugh at glitches and stuff like that. I
- 2:07:08like, oh, it's so funny, dude. like
- 2:07:09someone hinders flying a million miles
- 2:07:11into space.
- 2:07:12>> I get it. I remember like Reddit and
- 2:07:14that whole thing was like, "Oh, I took
- 2:07:15an arrow to the knee and all that [ __ ]
- 2:07:17Everyone just [ __ ] eating that." It's
- 2:07:19fine. You can do that,
- 2:07:21>> but only so much.
- 2:07:23>> You're going to have diminishing
- 2:07:24returns.
- 2:07:25>> And we're in the era where everyone's
- 2:07:26ready to [ __ ] jump down their throat
- 2:07:28right now.
- 2:07:29>> They get Yeah. People get People are
- 2:07:32overly critical. Like they they see a
- 2:07:34starting game.
- 2:07:34>> Oh, yeah. They're It's like where
- 2:07:36Naughty Dog's at right now. People are
- 2:07:37ready to kill that company,
- 2:07:39>> bro. Remember with um Insomiac, was it
- 2:07:42Puddlegate?
- 2:07:43>> Yes. Yeah,
- 2:07:44>> bro. Like it was it gamers now? Like why
- 2:07:48does it this like it gets crazy? So
- 2:07:50yeah, I agree. It's way tougher right
- 2:07:52now, especially with social media.
- 2:07:53>> Like you know, you know, YouTubers
- 2:07:57and this could be Maddie actually too.
- 2:07:59You know, they're waiting for Todd to
- 2:08:02say whatever he's gonna say about this
- 2:08:04game,
- 2:08:05>> Fallout. the next thing you know they're
- 2:08:08waiting for that it just works moment
- 2:08:10[laughter]
- 2:08:11whatever four times the detail whatever
- 2:08:13they said they're waiting for these
- 2:08:14they're waiting [laughter] for these
- 2:08:16gotcha moments
- 2:08:17>> oh you already know the clips in 4K
- 2:08:19they'll be ready
- 2:08:20>> they're going to be flowing they're
- 2:08:21ready to go so they got to be extra
- 2:08:23careful this time around
- 2:08:26so exciting times though
- 2:08:28>> yes
- 2:08:29>> oh yeah quickly had another quick one
- 2:08:31just shout out shout out to blood blood
- 2:08:33of the dawn walker they went gold
- 2:08:34recently rebel wolves with that game
- 2:08:36which comes out September 3rd I think.
- 2:08:38So quite a ways to go still seem pretty
- 2:08:41confident if it's already gone gold.
- 2:08:43>> Love to see that. I'm very excited about
- 2:08:44that game.
- 2:08:45>> The game looks good.
- 2:08:46>> Looks good. Old Witcher guys, vampires
- 2:08:49open world.
- 2:08:51>> Hell yeah.
- 2:08:51>> Can't do everything in one run
- 2:08:53playthrough. I love that [ __ ] So sign
- 2:08:55me up. I hope it's good.
- 2:08:57>> Sign me the hell up.
- 2:08:59>> It looks sick.
- 2:09:00>> All right,
- 2:09:02where are we at now? Um, oh yeah, we
- 2:09:04gotta read the audience.
- 2:09:05>> Yeah, that's okay.
- 2:09:06>> Sorry, we got me and K just got caught
- 2:09:08up talking about Bethesda.
- 2:09:09>> Just having fun. [laughter]
- 2:09:11>> Sid track.
- 2:09:12>> Yeah, Cream Lord wrote in said, "Howdy,
- 2:09:14boys." I don't like that name. I have to
- 2:09:16I have to keep it up. Uh, for ID
- 2:09:18Software, the DLC for the Dark Ages is
- 2:09:21insanely high quality. It's like Eternal
- 2:09:23in the Dark Ages had a baby.
- 2:09:25>> I hope that after what M or I hope after
- 2:09:27what Microsoft did to them, they can
- 2:09:29recover. Hugo Martin is still there who
- 2:09:31has been in the game director since 2016
- 2:09:34which gives me some hope and he just did
- 2:09:36a stream the other day and made it
- 2:09:37pretty clear that Doom isn't over yet. I
- 2:09:39guess time will tell this if they're
- 2:09:41able to rebound. I have a Slayer's mark
- 2:09:44as a tattoo and these games mean so much
- 2:09:47to me so I'm choosing to be optimistic
- 2:09:49about their future. Sad that so many
- 2:09:51people were laid off the day before
- 2:09:53delivering something this excellent.
- 2:09:55Yeah, true, true, dude. I have heard
- 2:09:58good things about this DLC. That's
- 2:10:00really good. I was one of those who
- 2:10:01wasn't as hot on this game compared to
- 2:10:03the other two.
- 2:10:04>> Mhm.
- 2:10:05>> But it sounds like they've done a lot of
- 2:10:07things that would entice me more. So,
- 2:10:09>> yes. Revelations.
- 2:10:10>> Might get back on that later.
- 2:10:12>> But I don't own the game.
- 2:10:14>> Okay.
- 2:10:14>> Cuz I played on Game Pass when it came
- 2:10:16out.
- 2:10:16>> Got it.
- 2:10:17>> I'm like, maybe I'll catch it on a Steam
- 2:10:20sale or something. I'm sure there's
- 2:10:21going to be one around the winter. I
- 2:10:22don't need to rush to play this game.
- 2:10:24>> Revolution's late. I I would advise it.
- 2:10:27It's all the feedback for guys like you.
- 2:10:30>> Cool. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's great. I
- 2:10:33love that [ __ ]
- 2:10:35And just to be clear, I don't think Dune
- 2:10:36the Dark is a bad game whatsoever. Just
- 2:10:39the each Doom game kind of has like its
- 2:10:41own little flavor and it was just my
- 2:10:43least favorite flavor of ice cream out
- 2:10:44of the three.
- 2:10:46>> That's all.
- 2:10:46>> A lot of people a lot of people agree
- 2:10:47with you too. Yeah.
- 2:10:49>> Jace Tumulovich or Tumulavic wrote in
- 2:10:52said, "I like to give a big keep it up
- 2:10:54to my backlog. Everyone seems so
- 2:10:56concerned with the future of gaming, but
- 2:10:58this feels like the perfect time to
- 2:10:59finally return to Yakuza Dragon and many
- 2:11:03more. And with my ayn Thor shipping
- 2:11:06soon, I imagine it could go for the rest
- 2:11:09of my life without needing a new game.
- 2:11:11Thanks for being there for us backlog.
- 2:11:13Yik, shout out to your backlogs as long
- 2:11:15as you don't neglect them.
- 2:11:16>> Yes,
- 2:11:17>> the backlog will be good to you.
- 2:11:19>> Always would be good during quiet times,
- 2:11:22which are rare.
- 2:11:23>> I want quiet times, man.
- 2:11:24>> Same. I'll be like, "Yo, games are
- 2:11:25delayed." Yes.
- 2:11:26>> Yeah, dude. Give me multiple months.
- 2:11:29Give me a Give me a [ __ ] year with no
- 2:11:31new games. And I would have plenty of
- 2:11:33stuff to play
- 2:11:35for.
- 2:11:35>> Preach.
- 2:11:37>> All right, let's get a game
- 2:11:38recommendation from the audience for the
- 2:11:40audience.
- 2:11:41>> Shimone. Shimone wrote in. Is that like
- 2:11:43a Michael Jackson thing?
- 2:11:44>> Yeah.
- 2:11:46Shimona.
- 2:11:47>> Yeah, that's definitely Mike. [laughter]
- 2:11:49>> Game recommendation. Hey Brad,
- 2:11:51recommending recommending Romeo is a
- 2:11:53dead man. Talk about a fever dream, but
- 2:11:56in the best possible way. Devil May Cry
- 2:11:58vibes with the weirdest yet most
- 2:12:00creative experience I've had in a long
- 2:12:02time. Check it out, y'all. This is
- 2:12:03Grasshopper. Uh Suda 51.
- 2:12:06>> Oh, yeah.
- 2:12:07>> Oh, I love Suda. So wild. He's
- 2:12:09>> you, Dude. Yeah, his games. I haven't
- 2:12:11played a whole lot of his games, but
- 2:12:13when I do play them, I'm like, whoa,
- 2:12:14these are wild. This man has a vision
- 2:12:18>> and I think a lot of his vision is very
- 2:12:20rough from what I've played
- 2:12:21gameplaywise, but there is a vision
- 2:12:23there
- 2:12:24>> and you could tell when you play one of
- 2:12:26his games it's one of his games. So I
- 2:12:28always give an aur like that a shout
- 2:12:30out.
- 2:12:31>> It looks cool. Oh yeah, I'm in there.
- 2:12:33Okay.
- 2:12:34>> Yeah. Shout out Sher of the Damned. Him
- 2:12:37and Shinji Makami on that game.
- 2:12:39>> That game was sick. It's ridiculous, but
- 2:12:41it's it was fun. No.
- 2:12:44>> Yeah, man.
- 2:12:45All right, Cog. Last game for us this
- 2:12:48week, which is This is the Police. I
- 2:12:51think Micah talked about this like a
- 2:12:53year. This game's been out for a while,
- 2:12:55right?
- 2:12:55>> Yes.
- 2:12:56>> Yes.
- 2:12:56>> This is my This is actually my second
- 2:12:59playthrough. Um
- 2:13:01>> Yeah. I haven't played this run back.
- 2:13:03Okay.
- 2:13:03>> Yeah. I haven't played this game. I
- 2:13:06played this game first on Nintendo
- 2:13:08Switch.
- 2:13:09>> Oh, wow. That's so funny. You playing on
- 2:13:11a Switch,
- 2:13:11>> bro. This game I don't know how it was.
- 2:13:14one of those things. It's early in the
- 2:13:15Switch life cycle. I I beat Breath of
- 2:13:18the Wild.
- 2:13:19>> I'm just I'm on the store. I'm like,
- 2:13:21"What is this?" Yeah. I'm like, "What is
- 2:13:23So, I'm like, "This looks interesting."
- 2:13:24And then I watched the I'm like, "Wait a
- 2:13:26minute." Um, it's the voice of the guy
- 2:13:28that did Duke Nukem who plays um Jack
- 2:13:31Boy. You play this uh kind of
- 2:13:33slashcorrupt
- 2:13:35uh police chief. Yeah.
- 2:13:37>> Kind of thing. So, it's a stream
- 2:13:38strategy stim adventure game where
- 2:13:41pretty much with an amazing narrative
- 2:13:43and amazing voice acting. Let's just get
- 2:13:45that off the off the bat. And check your
- 2:13:49uh check your Discord. I'll send you
- 2:13:50some messages. So, basically, I will um
- 2:13:53you basically have you run a a police
- 2:13:56station. You have a set amount of cops
- 2:13:58and there's like shifts, dayshift, night
- 2:14:00shift, whatever. And then what happens
- 2:14:01is the the basic core gameplay is this.
- 2:14:05on the left side of the screen, cases
- 2:14:07are coming in. They'll be like, "Yo,
- 2:14:09>> uh, LA shooting, you know what I'm
- 2:14:12[clears throat] saying, is going down."
- 2:14:12And then you've got your officers that
- 2:14:14they all have a number over them. They
- 2:14:15have like a that's their professionalism
- 2:14:17rating. That's how Yeah. how good they
- 2:14:20would be, you know, anything. Now, a lot
- 2:14:23of cases, they'll they'll sell you the
- 2:14:24set amount of cops that probably should
- 2:14:27go to the scene based on the severity of
- 2:14:29the crime. So, you be like, "Okay, this
- 2:14:30is a threeman job." But sometimes you're
- 2:14:32like, "Hey,
- 2:14:33>> Officer Sanchez got like a 300,
- 2:14:36>> you know, rating. I'll put he I'll send
- 2:14:38him and maybe one other instead of
- 2:14:40three." You know what I mean? You could
- 2:14:41do that. Then you have your your ones
- 2:14:43with low professionalism,
- 2:14:44>> right?
- 2:14:44>> And then you'll have, like I said, not
- 2:14:47only that the random events, but the
- 2:14:49dope part about it [laughter and gasps]
- 2:14:51is like all of them have personalities.
- 2:14:54Some dudes will be like, "Yo, I'm not
- 2:14:55showing up to work today. I'm going to
- 2:14:57do this, that, and the third." You know
- 2:14:58what I'm saying? So you could choose
- 2:14:59again, the day off. Then you got day
- 2:15:01shift, you got shift A, shift B of
- 2:15:04hiring new people. The other thing about
- 2:15:06the game is detective work. There's also
- 2:15:08times where it's like, okay, um there's
- 2:15:11a murder that goes down and you
- 2:15:13basically it's like a game of Pictionary
- 2:15:15where you have to there's like, you
- 2:15:17know, this person was shot, activist
- 2:15:19suspect was shot on the scene at this
- 2:15:21thing. You've got like four or five
- 2:15:23eyewitness accounts who you could choose
- 2:15:25to believe and then you have the end
- 2:15:28scene right of how of what happened. So
- 2:15:31then based on the detectives you assign
- 2:15:33their professional racism they'll try to
- 2:15:36construct pictures of what they think
- 2:15:38has happened. So now you have to put the
- 2:15:41pictures in sequence the right ones
- 2:15:44right to see okay in this order I think
- 2:15:46based on all the information I have now
- 2:15:48some of them are false positives some of
- 2:15:50the witnesses are lying
- 2:15:52>> right and then you got to kind of put
- 2:15:54that together and then it's still that
- 2:15:55over even if you solve it right okay
- 2:15:58that was secret now you have to now send
- 2:16:01your officers over there to the suspect
- 2:16:03and then depending on how dangerous he
- 2:16:06is or whatever it is and the professor
- 2:16:08you can then solve a and then mess up
- 2:16:10because the guy got away, someone got
- 2:16:12killed, you know, on the scene. It's
- 2:16:14that kind of thing. So, the game has so
- 2:16:17much micromanagement, but where it
- 2:16:19really wins.
- 2:16:21>> First of all, I love the art style. It's
- 2:16:23called We Studio,
- 2:16:25>> bro. It's a very distinct art style,
- 2:16:28right? It a And but what I what I think
- 2:16:31Brad, bro, they go there. There is no
- 2:16:34like the fact this game exists with the
- 2:16:38level of sexuality, the level of crime,
- 2:16:42the level of vulgarness in the and the
- 2:16:45voice act. But here's the thing, bro.
- 2:16:49This game goes there with the most
- 2:16:51sensitive issue. I load up the game. I
- 2:16:53was telling Maddie this. I was like, I I
- 2:16:55sent you a picture.
- 2:16:56>> Yeah. So, now mind you, so this is your
- 2:16:58day-to-day management. You're Jack boy.
- 2:17:00Then you got to deal with the mob. the
- 2:17:02mall be like, "Yeah, so what's up, man?
- 2:17:04We going to need you to give us 100,000
- 2:17:06off the books every month and and you
- 2:17:08got a ticking timer on that where it's
- 2:17:11like if you keep ignoring them, oh,
- 2:17:13you'll see a cinematic where they come
- 2:17:14up to your house and they just straight
- 2:17:15murder you."
- 2:17:16>> Whoa,
- 2:17:17>> bro. So, you got that then you got city
- 2:17:20hall, right? So, city hall be like,
- 2:17:22"Hey, the mayor, you know, he's trying
- 2:17:23to run the election and look um there's
- 2:17:25racial tensions right now. The games the
- 2:17:27funniest ever seen." They like, "Yeah,
- 2:17:29you know, we got these racial tensions
- 2:17:31going on." So, I'm going to need you to
- 2:17:32fire all the black cops while you have
- 2:17:33all your force.
- 2:17:35>> Excuse me. This is the police.
- 2:17:37>> Like, bro, this game is walking. What
- 2:17:41you going to say?
- 2:17:41>> Does it take place in a certain time
- 2:17:43period or is it
- 2:17:44>> It's official time. It's called You're
- 2:17:46City of Freeberg, right?
- 2:17:47>> Okay.
- 2:17:48>> Jack Boy, the main antagonist who
- 2:17:51protagonist who you are,
- 2:17:52>> bro. He's got his own problems. He's got
- 2:17:54He's like a drunk. He's got a a wife
- 2:17:56that left him. Of course, voice acting,
- 2:18:00>> the story, the writing is so like
- 2:18:04literally the writing is so good.
- 2:18:06Sometimes I pause the game, screenshot,
- 2:18:07and laugh out loud. I'm like, this is
- 2:18:10hilarious. Who did this, bro? So, they
- 2:18:12have This is the police. They did come
- 2:18:13up with a This is Police 2.
- 2:18:15>> Police 2. They tried I guess they tried
- 2:18:17to take the criticism. They're like,
- 2:18:18"Oh, there's no action in this game.
- 2:18:19It's just, you know, whatever." So, they
- 2:18:21tried to make actually a turnbased
- 2:18:23component when you send the officers out
- 2:18:25there. It's okay. It's simple. I
- 2:18:27>> prefer the original.
- 2:18:29>> The original to me it for Oh, the music
- 2:18:32actually. Very
- 2:18:34>> very jazzy, very time period PC kind of.
- 2:18:37And they give you a lot of uh different
- 2:18:38tracks to kind of pick. But highly I
- 2:18:41think this is one of the most
- 2:18:42underrated. It's a Steam sale. I believe
- 2:18:44I think it was still going on. We was
- 2:18:45doing it where you get the bundle of all
- 2:18:47their games for like eight bucks. It's
- 2:18:48like this please this please. One two
- 2:18:50they got this other game. We studios.
- 2:18:53It's a crime this game. People don't
- 2:18:56know about it and I will definitely be
- 2:18:58the biggest advocate for it. It is
- 2:19:01hilarious.
- 2:19:03This is the police co-sign for me. I
- 2:19:06highly just play a little bit of it.
- 2:19:08I'll just tell people just play play 20
- 2:19:10minutes.
- 2:19:12>> I I dare you that you won't be addicted.
- 2:19:14I dare you. I'm telling you this game.
- 2:19:16So this is my like
- 2:19:17>> go to bed game. This is like you know
- 2:19:20what I'm saying? Like we do a couple
- 2:19:22cases. Just let me do a couple things.
- 2:19:24Yeah. And what it is is um I used to
- 2:19:26play it on Switch. I beat it on Switch
- 2:19:28and I rebought it on Steam and on Xbox
- 2:19:31and I want to get the achievements on
- 2:19:33Xbox. That's why I was like, "Let me let
- 2:19:34me knock this out."
- 2:19:35>> That's cool, man. It's got you itching
- 2:19:36for
- 2:19:37>> Yeah.
- 2:19:38>> Yeah. That's fun when you're like, "Oh
- 2:19:39man, I want to get the achievements cuz
- 2:19:40it's that addictive. A reason to keep
- 2:19:42going."
- 2:19:43>> Facts. My two comfort food games are
- 2:19:44usually This is the Police or or Destiny
- 2:19:46right before bed. All right. Do a couple
- 2:19:47things and then I call it for the night.
- 2:19:50>> Yeah. Yeah. I'm really happy to hear
- 2:19:51like that they go pretty hard on a lot
- 2:19:54of subject matter.
- 2:19:56>> Oh yeah.
- 2:19:56>> Cuz you know the cops deal with a lot of
- 2:19:59[ __ ] up [ __ ] So it's cool to see like
- 2:20:00you as a player kind of having to deal
- 2:20:02with this like you showed me like a
- 2:20:03black activist got shot in like one of
- 2:20:05the screenshots or something like that.
- 2:20:06Like
- 2:20:07>> very like real like relatable crimes.
- 2:20:10Yeah. like,
- 2:20:11>> "Yeah,
- 2:20:12>> bad."
- 2:20:14>> Bad should and what I like is they
- 2:20:16they're not afraid to tackle it, but
- 2:20:18they have their spin and humor on
- 2:20:19certain things and they have their
- 2:20:21serious moments on certain things. But
- 2:20:22it's really well done. I I can't
- 2:20:24describe how much fun this game is.
- 2:20:27>> Yeah. With things like this, like this
- 2:20:29kind of like subject matter, I think
- 2:20:30it's it's cool to do, but you just have
- 2:20:32to do it in a good way. I think like
- 2:20:34that.
- 2:20:34>> Yes. Yes. 100%. Like you don't want to I
- 2:20:37think it should be like not necessarily
- 2:20:38the entire game like throwing [ __ ] like
- 2:20:41this at you, but like occasional things
- 2:20:42where it comes up like whoa whoa whoa
- 2:20:44whoa hold up here cuz a game like this
- 2:20:47you got to have like the like the silly
- 2:20:48petty crimes occasionally and stuff like
- 2:20:49that.
- 2:20:50>> Oh bro, dude is streaking out front and
- 2:20:53grandfather and it's mumbling words. You
- 2:20:56know what are you sometimes? Oh another
- 2:20:58thing I forgot to tell you another thing
- 2:20:59too is it becomes there's not enough
- 2:21:02cops and there's too much things going
- 2:21:03on a day. There are a lot of false
- 2:21:06alarms and what the writing is so
- 2:21:08excellent is you got to deduce to see
- 2:21:11okay you know what also some success
- 2:21:14rate depends on um the sometimes like if
- 2:21:18you send like a female cop to a
- 2:21:19situation she might be better diff they
- 2:21:22diffuse based on whatever that spec so
- 2:21:24it it's so well written bro and that's
- 2:21:26the thing that they don't get enough
- 2:21:28credit it really and then also I forgot
- 2:21:29another thing there's also the what I
- 2:21:31would consider the choose your an
- 2:21:32adventure sometimes you send someone to
- 2:21:34the scene or you send something and it's
- 2:21:36like okay you got to the scene but you
- 2:21:39know let's say car stolen right you send
- 2:21:41the officer scene um you go there car is
- 2:21:44unattended do you you know uh sneak
- 2:21:47around do you um you know guns drawn at
- 2:21:51like depending on that could go another
- 2:21:54path so it's still not over and there's
- 2:21:56these other layers to it that just adds
- 2:21:58a lot of complexity and it's a lot of
- 2:21:59fun to it based on decision
- 2:22:00>> making hell yeah
- 2:22:03>> uh Billy but not So talented wrote and
- 2:22:04said, "Sup summoners cog. Cool that
- 2:22:06you're playing This is the Police, a
- 2:22:07game I'm a big fan of. Wondering if
- 2:22:09you've played Dispatch and went
- 2:22:11backwards. Or was it a recommendation?
- 2:22:13As a turn-based guy, you might like it
- 2:22:15or might like the sequel even more is it
- 2:22:18has some basic XCOM style missions as
- 2:22:20calls?"
- 2:22:20>> Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. So yes, um,
- 2:22:23Dispatch, the only reason why I'm
- 2:22:24holding off cuz uh, everybody's bad
- 2:22:26like, "Why you be you you would love it?
- 2:22:28Why haven't you played it?" Is once I
- 2:22:30heard, okay, an Xbox version is coming,
- 2:22:32it's kind of like Final Fantasy. I was
- 2:22:33like, "Okay, I got to play it on my you
- 2:22:35know what I'm saying? I want to play in
- 2:22:36the ecosystem." But um yes,
- 2:22:38>> that definitely that's on the list. And
- 2:22:40yeah, like I mentioned, this is the
- 2:22:41police too. Um it's a it's it's a
- 2:22:44sequel. It's Jack Boy situation. There's
- 2:22:46this other uh I believe I think female
- 2:22:49police commissioner and kind of like a
- 2:22:51small um not a small like a a very rural
- 2:22:55town. It's not like big city where the
- 2:22:57part one is.
- 2:22:58>> It's different. It's cool. It's not bad.
- 2:23:01I just don't feel the I think they just
- 2:23:04they gave in to people, you know,
- 2:23:06complaining that there wasn't any
- 2:23:08combat, but it is turnbased.
- 2:23:10>> It's okay. It's just it's a very simple
- 2:23:13turnbased. I don't consider it. And
- 2:23:14sometimes I felt the turnbased was a
- 2:23:15little unfair to be honest with you. I
- 2:23:17didn't feel like some of the situations
- 2:23:18were really fair. But I'm going to get
- 2:23:20back to this police two. I'm just
- 2:23:22getting my um you know, my playthrough
- 2:23:23done with this the police one. But yeah,
- 2:23:24I am going to give it a shot again. See
- 2:23:26if it see if my feelings have changed
- 2:23:28because it's been it's been years. is
- 2:23:29most of these games I played 2017 2018.
- 2:23:32>> Yeah, it's been a while. I looked at a
- 2:23:33trailer earlier and it was from like 9
- 2:23:34years ago.
- 2:23:35>> Yeah, bro. It's like a minute.
- 2:23:37>> Yeah, that's always such a fun feeling
- 2:23:39when you return to a game that you
- 2:23:41weren't like necessarily driving with or
- 2:23:43something like that. I guess you
- 2:23:44complain, you're like, "Oh, this why was
- 2:23:46I hung up on that?" It's like not a big
- 2:23:48deal. Something like that. You can
- 2:23:49appreciate it in a different way.
- 2:23:50>> Yeah. Sometimes.
- 2:23:51>> But the opposite can happen as well.
- 2:23:53>> Yes. We like, "Oh, this didn't age
- 2:23:55well."
- 2:23:55>> Yeah. All right. Let's end the show with
- 2:23:57some writeins from the audience. If you
- 2:23:59want to ride into the show, I post a
- 2:24:00thread every Sunday or I'm sorry,
- 2:24:02Saturday on our Patreon. We do this for
- 2:24:04all of our shows on their respective
- 2:24:05days, though. So, if you want to write
- 2:24:07into Def Finding Duke with Cog and
- 2:24:08Maddie, look for that thread on our
- 2:24:09Patreon.
- 2:24:12This is from the Diddler. Hey guys. Yes,
- 2:24:15classic Diddler. A frequent ride in
- 2:24:17person.
- 2:24:18>> Oh, frequent. Okay.
- 2:24:19>> Very frequent.
- 2:24:20>> Yeah.
- 2:24:20>> Hey guys, which live service games do
- 2:24:22you actively play? I currently jump
- 2:24:24between Overwatch, Marvel Rivals,
- 2:24:26Zenless Zone Zero, and I rotate between
- 2:24:28all fighting games. I need to stop
- 2:24:30playing these games since they are all
- 2:24:32or are all time wasters, but they always
- 2:24:35have updates that I have to try. It's
- 2:24:36the main reason why my backlog is huge
- 2:24:38as it is. Before live service games, it
- 2:24:41felt like I had more time in the day. I
- 2:24:43used to go out a lot more and still feel
- 2:24:45like I had time to play everything. Now,
- 2:24:46I rarely go out and these days feel
- 2:24:49short. I can relate to that.
- 2:24:52>> Yes. And one thing about that is it
- 2:24:54seems like I'm sure it actually was
- 2:24:55true, but less games came out back then.
- 2:24:58Definitely. Even when I was like in high
- 2:25:00school and stuff like that, so I had
- 2:25:01more time to catch up. I remember like
- 2:25:04waiting months for stuff to come out.
- 2:25:06>> But now it just kind of comes up real
- 2:25:08quick.
- 2:25:09>> Oh, okay. Like I needed something to
- 2:25:11play, but now there's so much stuff to
- 2:25:12play.
- 2:25:13>> Uh live service stuff. The only thing
- 2:25:14I've been playing kind of off and on is
- 2:25:16Final Fantasy 14, but I'm probably going
- 2:25:18to take a break soon because the
- 2:25:20expansion's coming out in January. So,
- 2:25:23I'll hop back in when that comes out
- 2:25:25this time around. But other than that, I
- 2:25:28I haven't been playing Marathon that
- 2:25:29much. I might check out that update
- 2:25:30that's coming out with adds the PVE
- 2:25:32thing. I might check that out a little
- 2:25:34bit to check it out.
- 2:25:35>> Yeah.
- 2:25:36>> But yeah, I've been kind of grinding
- 2:25:37more on single player games right now.
- 2:25:38I've been getting I was away from that
- 2:25:40for a while, but now I'm getting back
- 2:25:41into it. Comes in phases. No Overwatch
- 2:25:44for you. You've
- 2:25:45>> No, not right now. We're No, we're not
- 2:25:46playing Overwatch right now.
- 2:25:48>> Okay.
- 2:25:49>> Come back and you know, got to take
- 2:25:52breaks.
- 2:25:53>> Okay, fair enough. Fair enough.
- 2:25:54>> Gotta take breaks. Oh, I'm not done with
- 2:25:55the game forever or anything like that.
- 2:25:56>> You just you're downtime right now.
- 2:25:57>> Yeah, I'm just playing other stuff right
- 2:25:59now.
- 2:25:59>> Gotcha. Fair enough. Fair enough. That's
- 2:26:01all.
- 2:26:01>> Yeah. Yeah. Same for me. I'm pretty much
- 2:26:03repetitive. I will look into the the
- 2:26:05marathon PVE mode because I want to see
- 2:26:06how they tackle that. Um, but it's been
- 2:26:08Destiny just on my, you know, it's
- 2:26:11basically the last harrah and they've,
- 2:26:12bro, they've added so much content. So,
- 2:26:14my new thing is I'm kind of like just
- 2:26:17taking my time savoring, you know, just
- 2:26:19go to this planet, do this activity, and
- 2:26:21everything has been, it's pretty much
- 2:26:23the biggest update they've done, and
- 2:26:25it's such a love letter to, you know,
- 2:26:26the fans. So, it's like, bro, it's
- 2:26:29always something to do. So, I'll just
- 2:26:30tackle one little thing, you know, a
- 2:26:32time and I'll knock in and jump out.
- 2:26:33Bro, even Sparrow Racing League, bro,
- 2:26:35was so much fun. the Sparrow Racing
- 2:26:37League is back. I'm like, yo, and they
- 2:26:39got like unique weapons that are crazy
- 2:26:41amazing. So, I I have tons of content. I
- 2:26:44ain't even worry about that. So, again,
- 2:26:45just I jump in every now and then, but
- 2:26:47for the most part, like you're doing I
- 2:26:49am also playing my major games cuz I
- 2:26:51that could be I could get caught up into
- 2:26:53a dangerous loop doing that. So,
- 2:26:55>> yeah, cuz I neglected a lot of single
- 2:26:57player stuff. Like when Marathon first
- 2:26:58came out, I played a lot of that. So, I
- 2:27:00was like, it's time to catch up again.
- 2:27:02I've been very behind. Like, I didn't
- 2:27:04even played Bond yet. Still, I'm super
- 2:27:06behind.
- 2:27:06>> Damn. I'm in early in the beginning, I
- 2:27:08got to get back to that. I You get
- 2:27:09caught up, bro. Y
- 2:27:10>> Yeah. All right. A rabbit that only eats
- 2:27:13wrote and said, "Since Brad is playing
- 2:27:15Spyro, I figured this question was
- 2:27:16relevant. We've seen all sorts of
- 2:27:19animals, animal based platformers. In
- 2:27:21this case, Spyro, a dragon, we've seen a
- 2:27:24raccoons, we've seen apes, lizards, kind
- 2:27:26of with geck, and cats and stray. What
- 2:27:28other animals would make good 3D
- 2:27:30platformer or at least an interesting
- 2:27:32protagonist?"
- 2:27:34H an animal, huh?
- 2:27:38>> I mean, what hasn't been done, though? I
- 2:27:40felt like we've got
- 2:27:41>> Yeah.
- 2:27:42>> So, we got
- 2:27:43>> You know why I was thinking of Cog? I
- 2:27:45was like, "Oh, a shark would be a good
- 2:27:46idea." Then I just remembered the
- 2:27:48Maneater games, which are actually, at
- 2:27:50least the first one I played was fun.
- 2:27:52That was a fun ass game.
- 2:27:54>> Yes.
- 2:27:55>> Shout out, dude. Maneater.
- 2:27:57>> Check out
- 2:27:58now, but cool ass game, dude. You're
- 2:28:00just a shark causing terror.
- 2:28:02>> Causing [laughter] terror.
- 2:28:04trying to think. I'm like, "Yeah, cuz
- 2:28:05shark, cat,
- 2:28:08bandicoot,
- 2:28:09>> bandicoot." What about a bear?
- 2:28:12>> That's right. Has a bear. You're right.
- 2:28:13No, I don't think we've had a
- 2:28:14>> I can't think of a bear off the top of
- 2:28:16my head.
- 2:28:17>> Mhm. We have our hedgehog.
- 2:28:20>> Got the hedgehog. Yeah.
- 2:28:22>> And is it um what's like
- 2:28:23>> Oh, Banjo Kazouie, but I mean he's in
- 2:28:26the he's like I don't know. He's locked
- 2:28:28up.
- 2:28:28>> Yeah, that's true. Yeah, he's locked up.
- 2:28:30Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah,
- 2:28:31people Yeah. Vanjo fans about to be
- 2:28:33upset. But yeah, I mean there's really
- 2:28:35not much we haven't done. I was
- 2:28:39[laughter] like I was like elephants are
- 2:28:40cool. Then I was like oh there was that
- 2:28:41game Timbo.
- 2:28:42>> Timbo. Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:28:44>> Oh man.
- 2:28:45>> Um I mean I guess a lion or something or
- 2:28:49a tiger. I don't know.
- 2:28:50>> A tiger. Yeah.
- 2:28:52>> That's the only I can really think.
- 2:28:53>> You're kind of right. It's like what
- 2:28:55hasn't been done? But [laughter]
- 2:28:57everyone's kind of attacked that genre
- 2:28:59with their own spin.
- 2:29:03And then what the hell was Super Lucky
- 2:29:05Tales?
- 2:29:06>> He's like a fox, right?
- 2:29:08>> Lucky tail. What was that consider? A
- 2:29:10fox. We've done foxes.
- 2:29:12>> Yeah.
- 2:29:12>> You know what I'm saying?
- 2:29:14>> Yeah.
- 2:29:16We're running low on animals, man.
- 2:29:18>> We're running real low on animals. What
- 2:29:20What could we do, man? I guess something
- 2:29:22crazy would be like um as a person who
- 2:29:25has a fear of snakes,
- 2:29:28snake game would be kind of wild.
- 2:29:30>> Yeah,
- 2:29:31>> snake game be kind of wild. Yeah, either
- 2:29:33snake nether like cobras or pab boa that
- 2:29:36would be kind of wild.
- 2:29:38>> Yeah, I'm not super into snakes as well.
- 2:29:40>> I hate snakes. So, it's like I I like
- 2:29:43there's a part of me that's intrigued to
- 2:29:44see like how they would attack a snake
- 2:29:46or I don't play with
- 2:29:48>> snake platforming mechanics. Yeah.
- 2:29:49[laughter]
- 2:29:51>> Okay. I like that answer. Let's go with
- 2:29:53that. Snakes.
- 2:29:53>> Let's go with that. All right.
- 2:29:55>> All right. Shawn Mason coming in hot
- 2:29:57right here.
- 2:29:57>> The homie
- 2:29:58>> said, "Hey, Summoners, keep bench cut.
- 2:30:02Ocarine of time, Halo 3, Uncharted 2.
- 2:30:07Best Sean M. Damn Sean throwing out
- 2:30:10really tough questions.
- 2:30:13>> Keith Edge cut. All right, I'll just I'm
- 2:30:16going to keep Ocarine of Time. That's
- 2:30:17Stan, baby. We know you're keeping that.
- 2:30:19>> I'm keeping that thing.
- 2:30:22>> Bench. Who am I benching? Who am I
- 2:30:23cutting? Damn.
- 2:30:26>> Okay, here's my logic. I'm going to
- 2:30:28bench Halo 3 and I'm going to cut
- 2:30:31Uncharted 2. And I will say I'm going to
- 2:30:33cut Uncharted 2. Chart 2. Incredible
- 2:30:35game. Calm down. Calm down, everybody.
- 2:30:37Put your put your guns down. All right.
- 2:30:40Four is my favorite.
- 2:30:42>> I haven't played through them all
- 2:30:43recently, but I I think four is my
- 2:30:45favorite. So,
- 2:30:46>> it's not the peak with Halo three might
- 2:30:49be the peak.
- 2:30:50>> That is clearly. [snorts]
- 2:30:52>> So,
- 2:30:54I don't get this is Sean. What are you
- 2:30:56doing to us?
- 2:30:59>> Bro, you're getting us in trouble.
- 2:31:00There's going to be three fan bases or
- 2:31:03two fan bases out of this.
- 2:31:04>> I think we're going to make a lot of
- 2:31:05people mad this episode. Bethesda fans,
- 2:31:08if we didn't pick their favorite game
- 2:31:09for soundtracks.
- 2:31:10>> Oh, yeah.
- 2:31:12>> And now this.
- 2:31:13>> And now
- 2:31:15You know, I'm the Halo guy. So, you
- 2:31:16know, I'm keeping that.
- 2:31:17>> Keeping the Halo. Okay.
- 2:31:20>> Sell the fans. Please don't come for me.
- 2:31:21But
- 2:31:22>> it's all right. You gota You gotta be
- 2:31:23honest with yourself. You got to cut it.
- 2:31:24>> I'm just I'm just No, no, no, no, no. We
- 2:31:26ain't cutting them.
- 2:31:27>> Okay.
- 2:31:27>> We're just going to put you on the bench
- 2:31:29cuz I like
- 2:31:30>> I'm I I like the older ones and I like
- 2:31:33Breath of the Wild. I I I can bench you
- 2:31:35just for a little bit. You You one of
- 2:31:36the goats, but I could put you you got
- 2:31:38other stuff to play. I'm not cutting
- 2:31:40Charlie. I'm the same as you cut. I was
- 2:31:41just I'm going have to catch you. Like
- 2:31:44[laughter] I don't have that
- 2:31:45association. And I know people really
- 2:31:48love this game.
- 2:31:49>> Is it dope? It's a good game.
- 2:31:50>> It is dope. And I And I get it. And they
- 2:31:52they're like, "Cog, you better get on
- 2:31:53those games." And I think this is
- 2:31:54>> Oh, you haven't played them?
- 2:31:56>> No, cuz this is PS3. That's what they
- 2:31:58get mad at me like.
- 2:31:59>> You play them on uh PC though.
- 2:32:00>> Oh, okay.
- 2:32:01>> Oh, no. Wait, hold on. No, sorry. Let me
- 2:32:02re. You can play four and Lost Legacy on
- 2:32:06PC. That's it,
- 2:32:06>> right? Not. Yeah. The older ones cuz
- 2:32:08that was I'm assume these are when this
- 2:32:10is height of PS3 era I'm assuming.
- 2:32:12>> But you can play on PS5. They have PS4
- 2:32:15remaster by Blueoint.
- 2:32:17>> Everyone is saying cuz I remember I
- 2:32:19played one and I wasn't wowed.
- 2:32:22>> One is like
- 2:32:24>> good first step. Two is like it's like
- 2:32:26the Assassin's Creed thing.
- 2:32:28>> There you go.
- 2:32:28>> Two is like the [ __ ] like you're like
- 2:32:30whoa. What?
- 2:32:31>> That's what I That's what I heard. I
- 2:32:32heard people like Carl, you've only
- 2:32:34played one. Two is when it really That's
- 2:32:36crazy.
- 2:32:37>> Yeah. And it's funny people tell me that
- 2:32:39because I was just like, these are the
- 2:32:41same people that get mad at me when I
- 2:32:42say, "Hey, I like Avou as a foundational
- 2:32:44piece." I'm like, "Bro, it could things
- 2:32:47could I'm from the era where the
- 2:32:49Uncharted 2 could happen." You know what
- 2:32:50I'm saying? That's what I'm trying to
- 2:32:51tell people. But yeah, no, I do I do
- 2:32:53need to play it because
- 2:32:55>> yeah, people really love that game. I'm
- 2:32:57all right, I got to give it a fair shot
- 2:32:58because remember, I'm a Tomb Raider guy.
- 2:33:01So I always looked at one like, "Oh, use
- 2:33:03a use a fraud, Tomb Raider, male dude."
- 2:33:06>> Yeah, you're a dude raider.
- 2:33:09>> Boss, that was great.
- 2:33:11>> Definitely. So that's I always looked at
- 2:33:13it like that. But people like, "No, no,
- 2:33:15it got hard. It I think I did play
- 2:33:17>> Did they have like What was the Vita
- 2:33:20one?
- 2:33:20>> Golden Abyss.
- 2:33:22>> I played that."
- 2:33:22>> Oh, you played Golden Abyss. That's
- 2:33:24funny.
- 2:33:24>> I played Golden Abyss. That's
- 2:33:26>> probably the the worst one.
- 2:33:27>> The worst one yet again. I wasn't wild.
- 2:33:30It was around launch.
- 2:33:31>> It was a launch game, I think, or close.
- 2:33:33>> I was like, "All right, let me give it a
- 2:33:35shot." Plus, I want to show off my new
- 2:33:36hardware. And again, it just I was like,
- 2:33:38"What? People liked it." [laughter]
- 2:33:41>> I was just like, "It's okay. It wasn't
- 2:33:42terrible. It's just okay." But again, I
- 2:33:45didn't play the best ones that I I do
- 2:33:46need to play.
- 2:33:46>> Yeah. I would love to get your opinion
- 2:33:48on especially like two whenever you get
- 2:33:50to it because you know, you you're not
- 2:33:51playing it when it was there like when
- 2:33:53it's crazy new tech, you know, it's an
- 2:33:54older game now. So, I wonder what you
- 2:33:56think about it now.
- 2:33:57>> Yeah. So, two for it time was like
- 2:33:59>> Oh, yeah. tattoo was insane for it time.
- 2:34:01The set pieces, dude, in
- 2:34:04>> next level. Next level. Yeah.
- 2:34:06>> Dope. Dope.
- 2:34:07>> All right. A very special boy wrote in
- 2:34:09and said, "With all the talk about
- 2:34:11digital media, etc., won't the next
- 2:34:12phase just be buying direct from
- 2:34:15publishers websites? I re I recently
- 2:34:18bought some virtual currency for Skate
- 2:34:20off the EA website because they give you
- 2:34:23more coins if you buy directly. Won't
- 2:34:25the next step just be publishers giving
- 2:34:28better deals on their stores to
- 2:34:30essentially cut Sony and Xbox out?
- 2:34:33>> That is interesting.
- 2:34:34>> It is interesting. Yeah. I mean, this
- 2:34:37direct, you know, to consumer kind of
- 2:34:40thing is interesting. I just think
- 2:34:42probably Sony is not like going for it
- 2:34:44like they what control like that store.
- 2:34:47>> Yeah, cuz like how are you going to buy
- 2:34:50if like a PlayStation only has one
- 2:34:52storefront? You can't put your
- 2:34:53storefront on there as well. Like you
- 2:34:55can sell things in the game to it, I
- 2:34:58guess. Or you could sell a code maybe on
- 2:35:00your website for cheaper
- 2:35:03>> that you can put in the PSN. I guess
- 2:35:06that's what you could do cuz that's kind
- 2:35:07of like the thing they're saying with
- 2:35:09>> uh the PS discs going in the future is
- 2:35:11that they will sell
- 2:35:13>> codes or whatever at retailers
- 2:35:15>> to avoid like a monopoly them getting
- 2:35:17sued and stuff like that.
- 2:35:19>> Yeah. No, for sure. It it's going to get
- 2:35:21tricky because again all this comes down
- 2:35:23to control. Yeah. And people trying to
- 2:35:24to to to maximize revenue. That's one of
- 2:35:27the main reasons.
- 2:35:28>> But yeah, we gonna see how the the lords
- 2:35:30of the storefronts handle this.
- 2:35:33>> Yeah, that is an interesting point. I
- 2:35:34haven't really thought about that very
- 2:35:36much, Special Boy. So, good point to
- 2:35:37bring up. Yeah,
- 2:35:38>> good stuff
- 2:35:39>> because yeah, you know, in the future,
- 2:35:41whatever, you know, it's like, hey,
- 2:35:42Square is selling their games
- 2:35:44$5. I mean, Square Enix wouldn't do this
- 2:35:46cuz, you know, they got the Square Enix
- 2:35:48tax and everything, but someone's on
- 2:35:49their store selling a game for five $10
- 2:35:53cheaper digital code.
- 2:35:54>> It's like, okay,
- 2:35:55>> you know, because there's like there's
- 2:35:56like key sites out there and all that
- 2:35:58kind of stuff that do stuff like that.
- 2:35:59So,
- 2:36:00>> yeah, maybe that'll creep more into
- 2:36:02consoles than with everything else.
- 2:36:03That'll be interesting.
- 2:36:04>> Yeah, we got to see how this thing is
- 2:36:06gonna play out. There's a lot of
- 2:36:07questions. Yeah, we are in such a a
- 2:36:09weird time right now with gaming with we
- 2:36:11don't have any kind of answers about how
- 2:36:13things are going to go for the most part
- 2:36:14for the next generation. We're kind of
- 2:36:17at the tail end. We're in a waiting
- 2:36:18period where there's a lot of questions
- 2:36:20still like Cogen.
- 2:36:21>> Yeah, for sure.
- 2:36:23>> All right. Hashim Barcat wrote in said,
- 2:36:25"Good day, summoners. Did you play a
- 2:36:27game that you really enjoyed, but you
- 2:36:29didn't understand the story clearly? My
- 2:36:31most recent example is Signalis. It's a
- 2:36:34wonderful indie survival horror inspired
- 2:36:35by classic PS1 games. After finishing
- 2:36:38the game, I had to watch a few lore
- 2:36:40videos to fully understand the story.
- 2:36:42Regardless, it has become one of my
- 2:36:43favorite horror games, and I will
- 2:36:45recommend it and sing its praises for a
- 2:36:47long time. Thank you for the great
- 2:36:48content, and I wish you all a great
- 2:36:50week.
- 2:36:52>> I like it.
- 2:36:53>> This happens to me all the time with
- 2:36:54games because I love a lot of games that
- 2:36:55are like this, dude. You play like any
- 2:36:57From Software game. You ain't You ain't
- 2:36:59getting all that story your first
- 2:37:00playthrough. Hell no. Mhm.
- 2:37:03>> You find out stuff later on, you're
- 2:37:04like, "Whoa." Then you watch Lorie like
- 2:37:06uh you were saying, and it's like, "Oh,
- 2:37:08I didn't even think about that." Or, "I
- 2:37:09didn't even notice that." Happens all
- 2:37:11the [clears throat] time for me with
- 2:37:12games. So,
- 2:37:14>> I agree. I agree. There's so many years
- 2:37:16you go back, you like you try to make
- 2:37:18sense of of it [snorts] or you didn't
- 2:37:20get the full scope of it. You know what
- 2:37:22actually happened to me for actually
- 2:37:23some of my smaller atmospheric games
- 2:37:26where they like they're very
- 2:37:29vague on interpretation.
- 2:37:31>> Yes. And you're like, "Okay, what
- 2:37:33happened with that?" And then what do
- 2:37:34you think? You know, I think of games
- 2:37:36like, um, there was this game I really
- 2:37:38liked that nobody liked. It was called
- 2:37:40Somerville. I love this game.
- 2:37:42>> Oh, yeah. I remember that game. Yeah.
- 2:37:44>> Yeah. Again, flawed, but it had a couple
- 2:37:46things about it that I really It was the
- 2:37:48guys that u remember
- 2:37:49>> it was like Limbo guys, right?
- 2:37:51>> Yes. Remember the guys that made Inside
- 2:37:53and whatever. Yeah. So, they made Limbo,
- 2:37:54then they made Inside, then they split
- 2:37:57>> and one group made Cocoon. Mhm.
- 2:38:01>> Which is amazing, different game. And
- 2:38:02another big group made Somerville. And
- 2:38:04Somerville kind of looked a little bit
- 2:38:06more closer to inside to me. So I was
- 2:38:08like, let me go with that. See what it
- 2:38:09is. Turn found out that Cuckoo was the
- 2:38:11better game. But [laughter]
- 2:38:13um Somerville,
- 2:38:15bro, there is some relationships between
- 2:38:18humans and and robots and some other
- 2:38:21things and messaging. When you get
- 2:38:22towards the end, it was one it's an epic
- 2:38:25sequence and it had multiple endings,
- 2:38:26but I was like, yo, what did this mean?
- 2:38:28I watch I was watching YouTube videos
- 2:38:31and people were their synopsis of what
- 2:38:32happened and I was like, "Oh, this is
- 2:38:34great." Like you go down a rabbit hole
- 2:38:36and stuff like that. So yeah, I love
- 2:38:37games like that where sometimes it it's
- 2:38:40open to interpretation or just in
- 2:38:41general where it's just like, "Hey, game
- 2:38:42that has a lot of lore, but you still
- 2:38:44want to figure out, you know, more
- 2:38:46context and stuff." So yeah, happens to
- 2:38:48me all the time.
- 2:38:49>> Yeah, man. [snorts] All right. Uh with
- 2:38:52that, we're done. Kong, great episode.
- 2:38:55Love chatting with you as always. Thanks
- 2:38:57for joining me. Appreciate it.
- 2:38:59>> Uh before we go, anything you want to
- 2:39:01plug, final thoughts, words, anything
- 2:39:03like that, man.
- 2:39:04>> No, for sure, man. Again, um another fun
- 2:39:06episode. Summer's always fun. I was
- 2:39:07like, and I got the car. I was like,
- 2:39:08"Yeah, we going to do it." Well, you
- 2:39:09said soundtracks. I was like, "Oh, you
- 2:39:11couldn't get me here fast enough." I was
- 2:39:13like, I could I had to cut things off
- 2:39:15the list. I was like, "This is great."
- 2:39:16So, yeah, super dope to actually do the
- 2:39:18show with you and all that. And then, as
- 2:39:19far as pluging, yeah, man, on lords
- 2:39:21ofgaming. If guys who really support the
- 2:39:23articles, it really means a lot to us.
- 2:39:25We've been growing. We do a lot of
- 2:39:26stuff. We got lots of LSM members who
- 2:39:28are are now down with the team and doing
- 2:39:30their thing and and putting out great
- 2:39:32content. So, salute to that. And then
- 2:39:34obviously, you know, ILOP, which I'm
- 2:39:36working on. We got to get y I know
- 2:39:38scheduling. We going to work this out
- 2:39:39because I got sitting around, bro. I'm
- 2:39:40tired of this. It's been too long.
- 2:39:42>> Yeah. Going on.
- 2:39:43>> Just give me like a week heads up.
- 2:39:45>> A week heads up. Okay. Yep. Fair enough.
- 2:39:47Fair enough. And we got that. And then
- 2:39:48obviously, you know, define it through.
- 2:39:49And then also for the people who um
- 2:39:51who's been liking our Lord's After Dark,
- 2:39:54>> uh which has been all f We record it
- 2:39:56Friday, but it usually drops Tuesday.
- 2:39:57That's what Insider Gaming and uh little
- 2:40:00more uh raw, let's just say, or it's a
- 2:40:03one topic show. You know what I'm
- 2:40:05saying? One topic.
- 2:40:06>> It's just one topic
- 2:40:07>> and go in.
- 2:40:09>> It's once a week. Yeah, once a week. One
- 2:40:11topic. Again, you find it on the inside
- 2:40:12of Gabby Avenue. Shoot salute to those
- 2:40:14guys. But yeah, get ready for Germany
- 2:40:16and you know Gamescom, man. So, I'm
- 2:40:19excited, bro.
- 2:40:19>> Yeah, man. Make sure to get your rest.
- 2:40:21>> Yes, it's gonna be brutal.
- 2:40:24>> That's what I heard. Yeah.
- 2:40:25>> Gonna be brutal, but
- 2:40:26>> happy for you. Is Maddie going?
- 2:40:28>> I heard Maddie is going.
- 2:40:30>> Okay, cool.
- 2:40:31>> I said, "Okay, very nice."
- 2:40:33>> He's got things going on, man. So, I'm
- 2:40:35like, "All right, let's get it."
- 2:40:36>> Any of our European homies, you guys see
- 2:40:38them there?
- 2:40:39>> Yes.
- 2:40:39>> Show them some love.
- 2:40:40>> Absolutely.
- 2:40:41>> I know Gamescom is humongous, so you
- 2:40:43might not see him. [laughter]
- 2:40:44>> I heard that people said, "I'm not ready
- 2:40:46for the scope."
- 2:40:47>> Yeah, I heard it's insane.
- 2:40:48>> I heard it's insane. So, yeah, I got it.
- 2:40:50>> Oh, yeah. Buckle up.
- 2:40:51>> Yes, sir.
- 2:40:52>> All right, everybody. Thanks for
- 2:40:53watching, listening. Appreciate it. See
- 2:40:55you next week everybody. Take care.
