- 0:18under the PIP program students are
- 0:21self-directed in their own
- 0:25learning I think the most important
- 0:27thing is the children see themselves as
- 0:30as inquirers and and problem solvers we
- 0:32are not creating machines just full of
- 0:34Knowledge and Skills and don't know how
- 0:36to use them they know how to identify a
- 0:38problem and how to use their skills and
- 0:40knowledge to solve the
- 0:44problem the flexibility of the pyp
- 0:47provides lots of room to help the
- 0:49student to inquire into the topics
- 0:53they're
- 0:54learning using what you know about the
- 0:56children or what their interest are are
- 0:58so important because the children feel
- 0:59that you are really acknowledging and
- 1:02respecting their interests and then they
- 1:04they will feel more a part of the
- 1:06Learning
- 1:08Community we utilize the local
- 1:11resources and also we try to put as much
- 1:15host country culture in the program as
- 1:18possible we believe the environment is a
- 1:21third teacher the teachers plan ahead to
- 1:23see what kind of provocations we can set
- 1:25in the environment to inspire children's
- 1:27thinking and to inspire their inquiries
- 1:30as
- 1:31well you want to encourage children to
- 1:33think out of the box and there is no
- 1:36just one way to do things so when we
- 1:38think about our classroom engagement as
- 1:41teachers we're giving children different
- 1:42opportunities to express
- 1:47[Music]
- 1:49themselves play I think is so important
- 1:52in in the early years you need to give
- 1:54them plenty of opportunity to explore
- 1:57that is the key when they really
- 1:58touching it and feel it and seeing it
- 2:01they they learn better and they have
- 2:03more understanding of the
- 2:05[Music]
- 2:09concept we are helping children to
- 2:12become lifelong Learners that learning
- 2:14doesn't just stop at school and as
- 2:16teachers we also be the role models in
- 2:19the classroom we don't demonstrate
- 2:21oursel as the sole source of the
- 2:25knowledge what I really like about PPP
- 2:27is respecting the children and seeing
- 2:30them as like capable persons when you
- 2:32believe and trust them they will bring
- 2:34more out of themselves
- 2:40[Music]
