- 0:00The terrible thing about this, when your
- 0:03mind is injured as it gets to be because
- 0:06of the the horrific traumas that you go
- 0:08through,
- 0:10the sounds and so on as you ask,
- 0:13they come out often
- 0:15unexpectedly
- 0:17when I'm watching just normal news from
- 0:21Syria or somewhere and they're talking
- 0:23about refugees or they're talking about
- 0:25a bombing and so on.
- 0:27I don't see it as images.
- 0:31I hear them there. I go back and I hear
- 0:36the people in the compound in the King
- 0:39Faisal Hospital area with James Rubinsky
- 0:42where
- 0:43over 100 were killed by by bombs and
- 0:46splattered all over the place and the
- 0:47screaming and the yelling. I smell the
- 0:50smell of of the cordite and smell of
- 0:54blood and of the dung and everything
- 0:56that's around it. I I feel
- 1:00the warmth and I feel the fear. Some
- 1:03mornings I'll wake up and for a few
- 1:06seconds I'm actually back in my office
- 1:10actually hearing the sounds of the
- 1:12fighting going on and then it
- 1:13dissipates. It's real, absolutely
- 1:17completely real.
