Psychology of People Who Never Feel Enough — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Do you ever feel like no matter what you
- 0:01do, it's never enough? Like you try, you
- 0:04achieve, you give your best, and still
- 0:07there's this quiet voice inside saying,
- 0:09"You could do better. You're not enough.
- 0:11If that hits, you're not alone." A lot
- 0:14of people feel this way more than they
- 0:16let on. And usually it starts early.
- 0:18[music] Maybe someone didn't notice your
- 0:20efforts. Maybe praise only came when you
- 0:22overachieved, or maybe you were compared
- 0:24to others. Over time, your brain [music]
- 0:27starts to believe that your worth
- 0:28depends on what you do, not who you are.
- 0:31So, you [music] push yourself. You
- 0:32overwork. You give more than you should.
- 0:35You try to fill the invisible [music]
- 0:36gap inside, thinking that maybe this
- 0:39time it'll be enough. But somehow it
- 0:41never is. [music]
- 0:42Even when others tell you you're doing
- 0:44great, you can't fully believe it. And
- 0:46that's exhausting, isn't it? Constantly
- 0:48[music] chasing a sense of worth that
- 0:50feels just out of reach. constantly
- 0:52comparing yourself to others, constantly
- 0:54thinking, "If I were smarter, [music]
- 0:56faster, prettier, kinder, maybe then I'd
- 0:59finally be enough." Here's [music] the
- 1:01thing. You are enough. Not because you
- 1:04do more, not because you achieve more,
- 1:06and not because [music] anyone tells you
- 1:08so. You're enough because you exist,
- 1:11because you try, because you care,
- 1:13because you survive despite feeling this
- 1:15[music] pressure every day. It's hard to
- 1:17unlearn feeling not enough, but it's
- 1:19possible. [music] It starts with
- 1:21noticing when that voice shows up and
- 1:23reminding yourself it's lying. Start
- 1:25recognizing your worth outside of
- 1:27accomplishments. Your presence, your
- 1:29thoughts, your feelings, all of that
- 1:31matters. So, if you're watching this and
- 1:34thinking, "Yep, that's me." Pause for a
- 1:37second and just breathe. [music] You
- 1:38don't have to prove anything to anyone.
- 1:40You're enough. And that's not just a
- 1:42feel-good phrase. It's the truth. You've
- 1:44been enough all along.
