- 0:00Hi everyone! My name is Mia,
- 0:02and today I’d like to talk about how I usually shop
- 0:06for everyday items.
- 0:08These are the things I regularly need for my kitchen,
- 0:11bathroom, and home.
- 0:13My shopping habits are quite simple,
- 0:16but I try to stay organized
- 0:18so that I do not forget important items
- 0:21or buy too much.
- 0:23I normally go shopping once or twice a week.
- 0:27I buy fresh food more often,
- 0:29but household products usually last much longer.
- 0:34Before I go to a supermarket or local store,
- 0:37I check what I already have at home.
- 0:41I usually start in the kitchen.
- 0:43I look inside the refrigerator
- 0:45and check the kitchen cabinets.
- 0:48Common items on my shopping list include eggs,
- 0:52bread, milk,
- 0:53rice, cooking oil,
- 0:55coffee, fruit, and vegetables.
- 0:59Sometimes I also need pasta,
- 1:02canned food, or frozen food.
- 1:05I do not buy all of these things every time.
- 1:08It depends on what has run out
- 1:10and what I plan to eat during the week.
- 1:13I also check the bathroom.
- 1:15Toothpaste, shampoo, soap,
- 1:18toilet paper, and facial tissues
- 1:21are some of the products I buy regularly.
- 1:24These items are easy to forget
- 1:26because they are not always on my mind.
- 1:29When I notice that a bottle or package is nearly empty,
- 1:33I add it to the shopping list on my phone.
- 1:36For cleaning and laundry,
- 1:38I sometimes need dishwashing liquid,
- 1:40laundry detergent, sponges,
- 1:43trash bags, or cleaning cloths.
- 1:47I usually buy medium-sized packages
- 1:49because they are easier to carry and store.
- 1:53Large packages may cost less per use,
- 1:56but they can take up a lot of space in a small home.
- 2:00I prefer making a list before shopping.
- 2:03Without a list,
- 2:04I may walk around the store several times
- 2:07or forget something important.
- 2:09At the store, I often carry a basket
- 2:12when I only need a few things.
- 2:15I use a shopping cart when I need heavier items,
- 2:18such as rice, bottled drinks, or laundry detergent.
- 2:22I usually bring reusable bags
- 2:25because they are strong
- 2:26and can hold more than thin plastic bags.
- 2:30I do not always choose the cheapest product.
- 2:33I normally compare the price,
- 2:35size, and quality.
- 2:38Sometimes a larger bottle is better value,
- 2:41but sometimes a smaller one is more suitable
- 2:44because I do not use the product very often.
- 2:48I also check special offers,
- 2:50but I only buy promotional items
- 2:52when I actually need them.
- 2:55When buying food,
- 2:56I pay attention to the condition of the products.
- 2:59I check the expiration dates on bread, milk,
- 3:03yogurt, and eggs.
- 3:05For fruit and vegetables,
- 3:07I look for items that are fresh but not too ripe.
- 3:10I usually buy small amounts
- 3:12because I do not want food to go bad
- 3:15before I can eat it.
- 3:17I try not to shop when I am very hungry.
- 3:20When I am hungry,
- 3:21snacks, cakes,
- 3:23and other unnecessary items look more attractive.
- 3:27I may still buy a small treat,
- 3:29but I do not want my basket to be filled with things
- 3:32that were not on my list.
- 3:35Before going to the checkout,
- 3:36I usually check my list one more time.
- 3:39At the counter,
- 3:41I watch the screen while the items are scanned.
- 3:44After paying, I keep the receipt
- 3:47until I have checked
- 3:48that the prices and discounts are correct.
- 3:51When I return home,
- 3:52I put away the groceries as soon as possible.
- 3:56Cold food goes into the refrigerator,
- 3:59and frozen food goes into the freezer first.
- 4:02Heavy household products go into a lower cabinet,
- 4:06while smaller items are stored
- 4:08where I can easily find them.
- 4:10After that, everything is ready for the days ahead.
- 4:26Canned food is food kept in a metal can so it can last for a long time.
- 4:33Mia bought canned tuna because it was convenient for quick meals.
