3. 0:17hear so I'm gonna show you a few things
4. 0:20and give you something to think about
5. 0:22so let's say you're sitting with a few
6. 0:24people you're texting you're working
7. 0:27whatever you do in this case you're in
8. 0:30the library it's a normal day you're in
9. 0:42your own world here what should you do
10. 1:03in that situation now of course I'm not
11. 1:06saying this will happen an
12. 1:08active-shooter situation or any act of
13. 1:10violence like this is incredibly rare
14. 1:12but if it did happen there are things
15. 1:15you can do that will increase your
16. 1:17chance of surviving something you can do
17. 1:20right now is plan it's always good to be
18. 1:25aware of your surroundings there's an
19. 1:27entire building around you you're in
20. 1:30this space all the time so have a plan
21. 1:33you probably know where the power
22. 1:35outlets are to charge things but do you
23. 1:38know where all the exits are no way you
24. 1:40can run nowhere you can hide there are
25. 1:44exits all over the place and you
26. 1:46wouldn't believe how many people get
27. 1:47hurt or killed in a fire because
28. 1:49everyone runs toward the door they came
29. 1:52in the Adrenaline's going and they run
30. 1:55right by an emergency exit so in this
31. 1:58situation there's a lot you could have
32. 2:00done differently if you took a few
33. 2:03seconds to plan take a look

44. 2:46plan and you evaluated your options and
45. 2:49decided to run away that's what we like

99. 5:52go to your car or get behind safe cover
100. 5:56follow directions from law enforcement
101. 5:59trust your judgment until they can give
102. 6:02the all-clear police will sweep every
103. 6:05room so let's go back there
