  1. 0:00there's the extreme approach that you
  2. 0:01are admittedly taking um and then
  3. 0:03there's also just ordinary people that
  4. 0:05might not be comfortable with the
  5. 0:07language change and it just is awkward
  6. 0:09and so they're afraid of not being
  7. 0:11courteous or being accepting so there's
  8. 0:13like these two things there's act
  9. 0:15actually combating and not being you
  10. 0:17don't like transgender the idea of
  11. 0:20transgender that's different than
  12. 0:21pronouns but then just for most people
  13. 0:24it's just feeling a little bit awkward
  14. 0:26and unsure and not wanting to hurt or
  15. 0:28offend somebody
  16. 0:30well why is it important for educators
  17. 0:33to teach about gender identity gender
  18. 0:36presentation and pronouns why why do you
  19. 0:38think that's important because there
  20. 0:41there is a difference there is
  21. 0:42biological sex and a lot of times people
  22. 0:45are conflating sex and gender so there's
  23. 0:47biological sex and then there's gender
  24. 0:49and that's a social construct in the
  25. 0:51sense that just because you're born
  26. 0:53biologically a female doesn't mean you
  27. 0:56automatically want to vacuum for
  28. 0:57instance which is usually a feminine um
  29. 1:00activity or conflated that way um and so
  30. 1:03it's this idea of giving children uh in
  31. 1:06age appropriate ways an understanding
  32. 1:08that you can that these things aren't
  33. 1:10set in stone gender identity is not tied
  34. 1:12to biology you say that gender is not
  35. 1:14set in
  36. 1:16stone what do you mean I mean I mean
  37. 1:19that's just factually incorrect uh
  38. 1:21saying that so you have biology is the
  39. 1:24chromosomal makeup and and and
  40. 1:26reproductive organs and all of that um
  41. 1:28and so that would be sort of the nature
  42. 1:30side of things but the nurture side of
  43. 1:32things is where we see more of gender
  44. 1:34identities she she began by saying that
  45. 1:36my view is Extreme okay so the view that
  46. 1:39every single person on Earth has held up
  47. 1:41until 15 seconds ago is Extreme and the
  48. 1:43view that almost everyone does right now
  49. 1:44still still hold is Extreme apparently
  50. 1:46according to her but there is this they
  51. 1:49are conflating gender and sex because on
  52. 1:51one hand they say well you got your
  53. 1:52biological sex but then your gender is
  54. 1:54whatever social construct but then they
  55. 1:56turn around and say that trans women are
  56. 1:58women so a man who who identifies with
  57. 2:01the with the the gender the social
  58. 2:03construct of Womanhood actually is a
  59. 2:05woman so if you you can laugh all you
  60. 2:07want but you are this is a logical
  61. 2:09problem you are conflating sex and
  62. 2:11gender just by saying that so that's the
  63. 2:14problem there's biological sex and then
  64. 2:16there is gender identity part of me
  65. 2:18wants to ask why you care so much uh
  66. 2:21because it's really not that big of a
  67. 2:22deal can I answer that um I I I love I'd
  68. 2:25love to answer that question I care
  69. 2:27about the truth so so basic truth
  70. 2:29matters I want to live in a society
  71. 2:30where people care about the truth and
  72. 2:31we're grounded in truth um I care about
  73. 2:33children and this these insane ideas
  74. 2:36about gender are being are being foed on
  75. 2:38kids um and that that bothers me quite a
  76. 2:41bit I care about the women who are
  77. 2:42having their opportuni stolen from them
  78. 2:45I care quite a bit yeah you are a
  79. 2:46champion for
