- 1:52terrible, terrible week. Had a terrible
- 1:54week. But this, if they wouldn't send me
- 1:56this load, I would have had a terrible,
- 1:58terrible week. All right, guys. I think

- 5:05>> In 600 ft, turn right onto Fraser Street
- 5:07and then you will reach your
- 5:08destination.
- 5:09>> There's nothing worse than getting a
- 5:10sick bug while you in the truck. And
- 5:13then there's nothing worse than getting
- 5:14a sick bug with a student in the truck
- 5:18cuz I dead ass do not feel like doing
- 5:20anything.
- 5:24But we got to get this money on.
- 5:26>> Now turn right and then you will reach
- 5:28your destination.
- 5:48You have reached your destination,
- 5:49McKessan Corporation, Aurora, Colorado.
- 5:52The destination is on your right.
- 5:56All
- 6:08right, guys. Um,
- 6:10this place is not going to be fun to
- 6:12back into, be honest with you guys.
- 6:16They said door 16 is off the street. So,
- 6:20like right now, I'm just thinking about
- 6:22how the hell I'm going to back my
- 6:24trailer into here.
- 6:32All right.
- 6:48This going to be a struggle, boy.
- 6:53This is going to be a struggle.
- 6:57So best bet
- 6:59is to go all the way around the block
- 7:01and come back around. So I don't got to
- 7:03do a blind side back.
- 7:10All right, guys. So we're going to do
- 7:12the weekly settlement review. Um this
- 7:15was for uh the week of let me see the
- 7:19week ending on the 22nd. So July 22nd.
- 7:23Um, so for the most part, all the lows
- 7:26that I took on uh
- 7:30on when I first started my channel,
- 7:32except one, the very first one, I wasn't
- 7:34able to put it on my YouTube. So, all
- 7:37the ones all the load that I've done um
- 7:39in the past videos and the one that I'm
- 7:41that I did on this video is going to be
- 7:43on this weekly settlement review. Um, so
- 7:46we going to get started. So, looking at
- 7:49this page right here, we're looking at
- 7:52my all of the loads that I took. So, I
- 7:55did one, two, three, four, five, six
- 7:59loads for this week. Think I did six
- 8:01loads for this week. Um, so it it tells
- 8:04you your loaded miles. It also tells you
- 8:07your loaded miles right here. It tells
- 8:09you the load revenue, the trip loaded,
- 8:12and the trip empty miles. Um,
- 8:16only only thing that I will highlight on
- 8:19this one is the 861 empty miles that I
- 8:22did for the for the load that I was
- 8:24taking out um that I took from go
- 8:27leaving home time. So, I don't know why
- 8:29that one's 861 miles, but I literally
- 8:32deadheaded like 15 miles. But I think
- 8:34it's because they added the miles that
- 8:36um that that it took for me to go pick
- 8:38up my student, which she was in um
- 8:40Piston, Pennsylvania. So, I think that's
- 8:42why they did that. So, the the numbers
- 8:44is a are a little bit um messed up for
- 8:48um for the um as far as like fuel for
- 8:51your your fuel cost and all that stuff,
- 8:53your cents per mile and all of that
- 8:55stuff. So, um so this week I did one,
- 8:58two, three, four, five, six loads and I
- 9:02grossed at the bottom right $10,200.
- 9:07Um
- 9:08this week wasn't too bad. Um, as you
- 9:10guys watch my last my other videos, I
- 9:14wasn't really too happy with a bunch of
- 9:15stuff. Um, so like on you can see on all
- 9:19the way to the right hand side, they're
- 9:21all team loads, team load, team load,
- 9:22team loads, except for this one solo run
- 9:25that I did, like I said, coming from
- 9:26home time. Um, so $10,200 isn't too bad.
- 9:31I'm not too not too mad at that. Um, so
- 9:35this is the revenue part. So, this is
- 9:36how much the truck made, revenue, gross,
- 9:39whatever you want to call it. That's how
- 9:40much the the truck made. So, this is
- 9:42going to be my deductions for the week.
- 9:45Um, I'm just going to focus on big ones,
- 9:48honestly. Um, so the big ones are going
- 9:50to be your uh variable cost, which would
- 9:52be your student pay.
- 9:55Um, it would be your fuel. Fuel is
- 9:58really, really big. So, right here, like
- 10:01I said, um,
- 10:04where is it at? Where's it at? Where's
- 10:05it at? Where's it at? of that. So to uh
- 10:07total revenue freight right there, then
- 10:10it says your total revenue right here,
- 10:1110,200, right?
- 10:14So then for this week, I spent all the
- 10:17way at the bottom. Tractor fuel cost is
- 10:2030. Oh, I can't highlight. It's all It's
- 10:22all the way at the bottom, you guys.
- 10:24It's 3,9 $3,90.98.
- 10:28And that was for So, um, I spent 66
- 10:33cents,
- 10:35um, a mile for this week. That's really,
- 10:38really high. Um, I think it's because I
- 10:41got screwed on my last load cuz I had
- 10:44filled up thinking I was taking another
- 10:46load, but the dudes ended up screwing me
- 10:48with the weight situation. So, yep. So,
- 10:51this is the um
- 10:55this is the deductions for the fuel. So,
- 10:58so what you would do is you take the
- 10:5910,200 and then you subtract $3,90.
- 11:04That's your probably going to be your
- 11:05biggest uh cost honestly.
- 11:10So then after that
- 11:12we go to
- 11:14boom net amount unit. So this is what I
- 11:18made for the week. $5,28.14.
- 11:23Um,
- 11:25honestly,
- 11:27I am I wouldn't say I'm not happy and
- 11:31and sound like I'm ungrateful, right?
- 11:33Cuz I think $5,28
- 11:36in a single week is good money um for
- 11:40for for
- 11:42majority of the people. So
- 11:46[snorts] So I'm not too I'm not I
- 11:47wouldn't say I'm not happy. Could have
- 11:50been better. Could have been a lot
- 11:51better. So, I'm explain to you guys what
- 11:52I'm saying. It could could have been a
- 11:54lot better. Um, so if I was So, if I
- 11:58didn't have my own truck that I pay a
- 11:59monthly cost for and I had, um, you
- 12:02know, the normal weekly lease prime
- 12:04trucks,
- 12:06um, it would be what, uh, $1,500 a week.
- 12:12Um, and then how you would get, so if I
- 12:17had a weekly payment of $1,500 a week,
- 12:20you would subtract that from the $5,28.
- 12:22So I would have technically only made
- 12:24$3,500
- 12:27for the week as a trainer
- 12:30with a lease payment. That's not good at
- 12:33all. Like at all. You want to you kind
- 12:35of want to have a set goal of at least
- 12:3745
- 12:394,400 a week as a trainer. like that's
- 12:42like your goal for the week. Like that's
- 12:44your minimum goal. Anything less than
- 12:46that is kind of like why are you doing
- 12:47it to be honest with you? So that's why
- 12:50I'm I'm saying like I'm not happy but at
- 12:52the same time I'm grateful that I don't
- 12:54have a weekly payment. So I can be a
- 12:56little bit happy about that. Um
- 13:00so
- 13:02so
- 13:03with the lease payment I would have made
- 13:053500. So now let's talk about solo pay.
- 13:08So, we're going to use the exact same
- 13:09numbers that I just ran, but as a solo
- 13:11driver, you would just pretty much
- 13:13divide whatever I um Damn, my students
- 13:16coming. So, you as a solo driver, you
- 13:19would pretty much just divide whatever u
- 13:22total miles I ran. So, I ran 4678 miles.
- 13:25So, you divide that by two. So, if you
- 13:27if you were solo, all right, so you
- 13:30would have just ran 2,300 as a solo
- 13:33driver and you would have took half of
- 13:34the 10K revenue that I gross as a solo
- 13:37lease driver and gross 5K. Then you
- 13:39subtract your your lease payment, which
- 13:41would be 1,500, you'd be at 3500. Then
- 13:44you still got to subtract your fuel
- 13:45cost. So, if you ran the same numbers, I
- 13:48spent $3,000 on fuel. So, subtract that
- 13:51by two, another 1,500. So, you subtract
- 13:553500
- 13:56to another 1,500 and you would be at
- 13:59$2,000 for the week. So, that's how much
- 14:02you would have made for the week. Um, as
- 14:03a solo driver, as a lease, that's not
- 14:06bad. Honestly,
- 14:092,000 like you just want to kind of grow
- 14:12like net netting 2,000 as a solo driver
- 14:15is pretty good, honestly. Um, and then
- 14:18if you was a company driver, you would
- 14:20just take your solo your solo um total
- 14:24miles, which would have been for 2,300.
- 14:26And then you would just do $2,300 times
- 14:2850, and then you would have just made
- 14:30$1,10050
- 14:33$11.50 for the week. That's before
- 14:35taxes. So, those are just like the
- 14:37breakdowns of what uh the pay is. Um,
- 14:40going do what I recommend probably to
- 14:41others.
- 14:44I say yes to gain experience like to get
- 14:47to you know get your your one year
- 14:49experience in and um
- 14:52but also just having a plan with within
- 14:55that experience honestly uh like like
- 14:58will you be a trainer like I knew when I
- 15:00was training when I was doing my
- 15:02training process when I first started
- 15:04when my my trainer would tell me how
- 15:06much money he was making I said oh yeah
- 15:07I'm going to train like
- 15:10this the training just makes it more
- 15:11consistent honestly
- 15:13um will you buy your own truck? Um where
- 15:16you go back local, you want to haul fuel
- 15:19and go back local after a year. So those
- 15:22are just the plans that you want to have
- 15:23when you first get in Prime. Um as far
- 15:26as longterm,
- 15:28if you were to go company with Prime, I
- 15:32would not suggest that at all or just go
- 15:35on a lease. I wouldn't suggest that at
- 15:38all. I would only do it if you have a
- 15:41plan to get out of a a lease payment per
- 15:44week and get your own truck or if you
- 15:46want to be a trainer. Um, but there's
- 15:50still endless opportunities with the
- 15:51trucking industry just cuz once you get
- 15:53your one year experience in over the
- 15:54road or even 6 months, you might be able
- 15:57to finesse a decent job at home to be
- 16:00honest. Um, but
- 16:03if I were to go company though, I would
- 16:06definitely
- 16:08the only way that I would go company
- 16:10with Prime and maybe work it out with
- 16:12Prime is if you
- 16:15find a mini fleet owner that's need
- 16:17drivers, which there is a lot there are
- 16:19a lot of them, but you do need to make
- 16:22that connection as you need to start
- 16:24talking to people as you are in
- 16:26training. But that's probably the only
- 16:28way. Honestly, I think that's really the
- 16:30best route. Um cuz when you look at your
- 16:33numbers, a mini fleet owner is probably
- 16:35going to start you at 60 cents a mile.
- 16:37Um majority of these lease drivers, they
- 16:40they're only averaging about 70 to 75 80
- 16:44cents a mile um profit when when it's
- 16:48all said and done. when you after your
- 16:50lease payment, after your all your after
- 16:53all the uh costs that you um
- 16:56gonna have. Um
- 17:00another thing being you is you need to
- 17:04learn how to really really save your
- 17:05money. Like save, save, save, man. Um
- 17:10cuz in trucking you are going to make a
- 17:11lot of money. Not going to lie to you.
- 17:13You're going to make a lot of money. But
- 17:15then in the same time,
- 17:18[snorts] if you don't know how to save
- 17:19your money, it's like you're kind of
- 17:20just running out here, just running
- 17:23wild. To be honest with you, there's
- 17:25going to be some rainy days. There's
- 17:26going to be some weeks where you're not
- 17:27making any money. Might be a week where
- 17:29you your truck break down and now you
- 17:31you don't know what you doing. Your
- 17:33truck might break down for two weeks.
- 17:35Sure, you got your um your uh dam,
- 17:39what's that? What do they call it? um
- 17:41that breakdown pay, but that's just
- 17:43enough to cover the the payment for your
- 17:45truck for the week. That's you're
- 17:47literally not getting any money to your
- 17:49bank account. It's literally just money
- 17:51to like I said, cover your truck payment
- 17:54for the week. So, you still won't be
- 17:55running. You still won't be profiting
- 17:57any money. Um so, yeah, save your money.
- 18:00Save your money.
- 18:02Uh lease versus company.
- 18:05Honestly, do what works for you to be
- 18:07honest with you. Um, if you're scared to
- 18:10go run on your own, if you're scared to
- 18:11go run your own business, go company. If
- 18:14you need to go home like a lot because
- 18:17you have kids, you got a wife, go
- 18:19company. Um, company has good benefits.
- 18:22You got 401k, you have health insurance.
- 18:25Um, so no headaches with a truck
- 18:27breakdown. So that's a plus. But like I
- 18:30said, if you do end up choosing to go
- 18:32company, I would start looking for a
- 18:35mini fleet owner to uh to join because
- 18:39you would be a company driver, but you
- 18:41would get the lease um lease benefits as
- 18:45far as not being forced dispatched. You
- 18:47don't have to go to certain truck stops
- 18:50to fuel up. You have the freedom to fuel
- 18:52up wherever you want to go. Um so that's
- 18:54honestly the best route in my opinion.
- 18:56Um, but if you can run months at a time,
- 18:59I would go lease. Um,
- 19:03yeah, you have to run months at a time,
- 19:05though. Like, if you think you're going
- 19:06to run two weeks and then go home for a
- 19:07week, that's not going to happen with
- 19:09lease. You're going to be in a hole.
- 19:10You're going to hate trucking. Um, with
- 19:12lease is more risk, more reward.
- 19:15Honestly, if you go lease,
- 19:18the goal is to get your own truck. That
- 19:20that needs to be the goal. You need you
- 19:22need to do whatever it takes to get out
- 19:24of that weekly payment. as soon as
- 19:26possible. Like they push you to to to
- 19:29complete your lease completion bonus,
- 19:31but honestly, if you do the math, if you
- 19:34could get into your own truck within a
- 19:36year, you're going to save so much more
- 19:37money than you would if you were to to
- 19:40complete the lease and get your at least
- 19:41complete some bonus. Um,
- 19:45home time is great for lease, too. Um,
- 19:47so it's like a it's like a it's like a
- 19:51bad thing and a good thing cuz you could
- 19:52take home time as as long as you want.
- 19:54you could go home for as for as long as
- 19:56a month without getting in any trouble,
- 19:59I believe, or I think it was like 59
- 20:01days before they pretty much be like,
- 20:03"Hey, you got to run the load of lease
- 20:05or you get fired." So, yeah, that's
- 20:08that's a good part. But then the bad
- 20:10part about that is your lease weekly
- 20:12payments is is just added on $1,500 a
- 20:15week. So, if you take home for a month,
- 20:17that's $6,000 you in the hole. So, it
- 20:19means you're going to probably work the
- 20:20whole next month for free just paying
- 20:22that down.
- 20:25Um,
- 20:28so yeah, that's it for that. If you guys
