- 0:27Thank God.
- 0:32Praise God. I want to add my welcome and
- 0:36to this conference. God bless all of you
- 0:38that are here and I thank you for your
- 0:41giving. I think we're going to be in for
- 0:43a great week. I'm trusting that God is
- 0:46going to speak to people this week. Turn
- 0:48in your Bibles if you have them.
- 0:51First Kings chapter 19 is where we're
- 0:54going to read in the word of God. In
- 0:573:10 BC, the Roman
- 1:01general Agatha of Syracuse, he invaded
- 1:05North Africa. His goal was to force
- 1:09Carthage into withdrawing their troops
- 1:13from Sicily.
- 1:15And when he landed,
- 1:17he burned the entire fleet of 60 ships
- 1:21that they had sailed over on. Why would
- 1:24you burn your ships? Two reasons. He
- 1:29wanted there to be no options.
- 1:32The only way that his men had a hope of
- 1:35getting back home, you had to win. And
- 1:38that was going to give motivation for
- 1:40them to fight. And secondly, by burning
- 1:43the boats, he didn't have to leave
- 1:45anyone behind to guard the fleet because
- 1:49every soldier could go to the battle.
- 1:52The lesson from that, it was successful.
- 1:55He did win at at Carthage and Libya.
- 1:59The lesson is this. Success requires
- 2:04commitment.
- 2:06very simple, but that is actually a
- 2:08Bible principle that we're going to read
- 2:11in First Kings 19. We're going to see
- 2:15that a man named Elisha is called by
- 2:18God. He's a farmer. He's plowing in the
- 2:22field. And when God calls him, he burns
- 2:27his plow to demonstrate his total
- 2:30dedication to God's will. I am trusting
- 2:34that God is going to speak to people
- 2:36this week. There are going to be some
- 2:39plows burnt to enable people to totally
- 2:43dedicate themselves to the will of God.
- 2:45I want to preach about burning your
- 2:47plows. First Kings 19 starting at verse
- 2:5019. So he departed from there and he
- 2:52found Elisha the son of Sheaphat who was
- 2:54plowing with 12 yolk of oxim before him
- 2:57and he was with the 12. Then Elijah
- 3:01passed by him and threw his mantle on
- 3:03him. And he left the oxen and ran after
- 3:05Elijah and said, "Please let me kiss my
- 3:08father and my mother, and then I will
- 3:11follow you." And he said to him, "Go
- 3:13back again, for what have I done to
- 3:17you?" So Elisha turned back from him,
- 3:19took a yolk of oxin, slaughtered them,
- 3:22and boiled their flesh using the oxen's
- 3:24equipment, gave it to the people, and
- 3:27they ate. Then he arose and followed
- 3:30Elijah and he became his servant.
- 3:34Burning your plows. Let's look at the
- 3:36first thought. Let's talk about
- 3:37receiving the mantle. Our text speaks
- 3:41about a mental. The word means cloak,
- 3:45outer cloak or robe. And these could be
- 3:49woven. They could be made of animal
- 3:51skins or hair, different kinds of
- 3:53things. He throws this mantle, this
- 3:57cloak across his shoulders.
- 4:01This mantle was an identifier. It was an
- 4:05outward symbol of the function the owner
- 4:10had for God. It was saying something.
- 4:14The one who wears this mantle is not the
- 4:17same as everybody else. It's not talking
- 4:20about being better than anybody else,
- 4:23but they are different. They are set
- 4:26apart for God, owned by God. Romans 1:1,
- 4:31Paul has this idea. I'm a bondervant of
- 4:35Jesus Christ. I'm called to be an
- 4:37apostle, separated
- 4:40to the gospel of God.
- 4:43But this mantle had a supernatural
- 4:46dimension of equipping.
- 4:50There was something absolutely
- 4:53supernatural. Supernatural direction was
- 4:57connected to this mantle. First Kings
- 4:5919:13. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped
- 5:02his face in his mantle and went out and
- 5:05stood at the entrance of the cave.
- 5:07Suddenly a voice came to him and said,
- 5:09"What are you doing here, Elijah?" with
- 5:12his face wrapped in the mantle. He heard
- 5:16God's voice directing him if in his life
- 5:20and his ministry. Some of you this week,
- 5:23what you need desperately is to hear
- 5:26from God. The mantle is connected to
- 5:30supernatural direction. But there's
- 5:33supernatural power for ministry in this
- 5:36mantle. 2 Kings 2:8. Elijah took his
- 5:40mantle, rolled it up, struck the water,
- 5:42and it was divided this way and that so
- 5:45the two of them could cross over on dry
- 5:49ground.
- 5:50Some scholars believe that this mantle
- 5:53would be worn as anointing oil would be
- 5:57poured over the head. And so that oil,
- 6:01this symbol of the Holy Spirit would
- 6:04soak in. And some scholars believe that
- 6:07this would be passed on. There would be
- 6:10numbers of prophets, numbers of
- 6:13anointings that would be there and oil
- 6:16is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. When the
- 6:20Holy Spirit is on you, is at work in
- 6:24your life, there is a supernatural power
- 6:28that will equip you to do the will of
- 6:30God. And he picked up that mantle. They
- 6:34needed to be on the other side, but
- 6:36something stood in the way. The Jordan
- 6:39River was blocking, but he took that and
- 6:43smoked the water. And what stood in the
- 6:46way
- 6:48parted. They have the power to change
- 6:53what is stopping God's will. We send men
- 6:56out. They're very excited to go to
- 7:00wherever the holy promised land is. But
- 7:03it's not uncommon that we get a call
- 7:05sometime later on and they say it's
- 7:08really hard here.
- 7:10And the answer that I always give is
- 7:14that's right and that's why we sent you.
- 7:18Change it. You've got a mental.
- 7:22That is what Elijah did. He changed
- 7:25that. That is what the mental can do.
- 7:28But the mental represents the choice of
- 7:31God.
- 7:32Elisha didn't seek this mantle. He
- 7:36didn't seek this calling. God chose him.
- 7:40First Kings 19:16, "Anoint Elisha to
- 7:44replace you as my prophet."
- 7:48God makes choices for our lives.
- 7:51Colossians 1:1, I Paul, I'm an apostle
- 7:54of Jesus Christ by the will of God.
- 7:58There are things that God may choose for
- 8:01our lives what he wants us to do in a
- 8:04local church.
- 8:07God may choose for our lives that he
- 8:09wants us to preach the gospel. I never
- 8:14wanted to preach. I was the pastor's
- 8:16son. I hated it when people asked me,
- 8:19"Are you going to be a preacher like
- 8:20your daddy?" We talked to I know I'm not
- 8:24absolutely not. But it was in a men's
- 8:27disciplehip class in Perth, West,
- 8:29Australia. My father was doing a class
- 8:31on preaching,
- 8:34studying. That has nothing to do with
- 8:36me. But God spoke.
- 8:39There's more than what my dad was
- 8:40saying. God spoke and said, "That's what
- 8:42I want you to do." That's what a mantle
- 8:44is. It's a choice of God. You know,
- 8:47there are places that God wants us to be
- 8:50by his choice. where you go to church,
- 8:54God gets a vote in that
- 8:58>> to pioneer. God may want you to go
- 9:00somewhere and pioneer to go overseas.
- 9:03You might be pastoring, laboring in a
- 9:06place, but God may speak and say, "I
- 9:09want you to leave there and go somewhere
- 9:11else." There are others you cannot wait.
- 9:14You're hoping God will say, "Leave these
- 9:17people." And God will say, "Stay."
- 9:21The mantle is the choice
- 9:24of God. Which means
- 9:26we have to have what Elisha had. We have
- 9:30to hear from God.
- 9:33Did you come to conference this week to
- 9:36hear from God? And I'm not just talking
- 9:39about hearing sermons.
- 9:41Is God able
- 9:43to speak to you and direct the choice
- 9:49that he has for you? This mantle
- 9:53represented the potential of usefulness.
- 9:57Elisha was going to impact people's
- 9:59lives. He would deliver a prophet, a
- 10:03prophet's widow and her sons from debt
- 10:06slavery. He would wind up saving armies,
- 10:10entire armies from death. That's the
- 10:13digging of the ditches in the valley. He
- 10:16was going to be able to cause healing
- 10:18from physical barrenness. There he was
- 10:22going to raise a child from the dead.
- 10:26Do you know that if you find what God
- 10:29wants for you, there can be people alive
- 10:33because of you. Lives can be changed
- 10:38>> by your involvement simply releasing the
- 10:41spirit of God. What job, what award,
- 10:45what what possession or hobby could ever
- 10:49equal that?
- 10:51>> And the mantle represents the
- 10:53replacement factor. First Kings 19:16,
- 10:57anoint Elisha to replace you as my
- 11:00prophet.
- 11:02Elijah didn't have a lot of time left on
- 11:05earth.
- 11:06Scholars say from the point of the
- 11:09scripture we read, he had 6 to 8 years
- 11:12left.
- 11:156 to 8 years is all the amount of time
- 11:17he had on this earth. That means very
- 11:20simply he had to be replaced.
- 11:24If Elijah had a powerful ministry, all
- 11:28the wonderful things that he did, and
- 11:30then he died and it all stopped, that's
- 11:34not success. That would be a failure.
- 11:38You know, there are pastors, you're
- 11:39laboring in a city.
- 11:42Statistically,
- 11:44most pastors, you're not going to stay
- 11:47there forever.
- 11:49So, that means someone's going to have
- 11:51to replace you. There are pastors here,
- 11:53you are getting older.
- 12:00There are pastors here, you're in your
- 12:0270s, you're in your 80s. I want to
- 12:04preach till
- 12:06you're not going to be able to do it
- 12:07forever.
- 12:11You better have a replacement.
- 12:14>> There are pastors, sadly,
- 12:17some will leave this earth sooner than
- 12:19we would like. In all those instances,
- 12:23they have to be replaced in order for
- 12:26the work of God to carry on.
- 12:30But if there's going to be a
- 12:32replacement, what is crucial? Remember,
- 12:35it was the spirit.
- 12:38>> There has to be the same spirit. I know
- 12:40there are young young guys. They cannot
- 12:44wait to be a replacement because they're
- 12:46so clever. They know everything that's
- 12:48wrong with a fellowship. They can't wait
- 12:50to change it. You will nosedive
- 12:55rapidly.
- 12:57>> Elisha said, "I want a double portion of
- 13:00your
- 13:02spirit." But this mantle was a
- 13:04surprising interruption. Verse 19,
- 13:08Elisha was plowing with 12 yolk of oxin
- 13:11and he was with the 12. In those days,
- 13:13if you were plowing and you had 12 oxmen
- 13:17yolked together,
- 13:19that that means that was a a a lucrative
- 13:25business. That meant you had money.
- 13:29He is in control of his life. Money
- 13:33brings security. Money brings comfort.
- 13:36Money
- 13:37brings recreation.
- 13:41And so Elisha is like many when God
- 13:44speaks to them in conference or a men's
- 13:48disciplehip class. The mantle is thrown
- 13:52across his shoulders. It's the choice of
- 13:54God and he wants to negotiate the terms.
- 13:59Verse 20 left the oxen and ran after
- 14:01Elijah and said, "Please let me kiss my
- 14:03father, my mother, and then
- 14:07I will follow you." Oh, great. This is
- 14:09one such a wonderful pl. Amen, Pastor
- 14:13Elijah.
- 14:15But
- 14:17I want to be able to negotiate how I do
- 14:21this,
- 14:23when I do it,
- 14:26what should come first before I do it.
- 14:31But what's amazing in our story is that
- 14:33Elijah didn't stand there demanding. He
- 14:37didn't st throw the mantle tick- tock.
- 14:41He's not trying to pressure Elisha.
- 14:45Verse 19, Elijah went over to him, threw
- 14:48his cloak across his shoulders, and then
- 14:50he walked away.
- 14:54Because he's saying something, you have
- 14:56to work out your calling.
- 14:59>> It's not my job to work out your calling
- 15:01for you, Elisha.
- 15:03calling comes from God and not man.
- 15:08I know there are men they want to be
- 15:09able to say, "My pastor tricked me. He
- 15:14pressured me. He hyped me up. He psyched
- 15:17me into this."
- 15:20But Elisha asks a question. Verse 20, he
- 15:23says, "What have I done to you?" Right.
- 15:29>> Elijah, maybe he was holding that oil
- 15:32soaked
- 15:34mantle.
- 15:36And Elijah says, "What have I done? I
- 15:41didn't do anything. I just obeyed God.
- 15:44I cast the mantle. But you, it's your
- 15:47job to receive it." Do you know you are
- 15:49responsible for your own calling?
- 15:53>> And you will answer to God, not man.
- 15:57for the calling that God has put on your
- 16:01life.
- 16:03And thank God, we see here after trying
- 16:05to delay,
- 16:07Elisha settled his calling
- 16:11and he got on with it. Verse 21, then he
- 16:14arose and followed Elijah and became his
- 16:18servant. this week.
- 16:21My prayer is for some of you that you
- 16:25will settle things with God this week
- 16:27and get on with it.
- 16:31What God is speaking to you, get on with
- 16:34it. Quit playing, delaying, dabbling.
- 16:40Get on with what God has called you to
- 16:42do. Let's talk secondly about burning
- 16:44your plows.
- 16:46There's a battle that usually goes on
- 16:49when God calls us to anything. And the
- 16:53battle is usually not an outright no.
- 16:59Most people when God speaks, they don't
- 17:03say absolutely not.
- 17:09I want to be a drugdeing hitman for the
- 17:11mafia. That's my dream. later. That's
- 17:14not what happens.
- 17:17The common tendency is to hold back part
- 17:20of our obedience.
- 17:22God speaks and we say, "Okay,
- 17:26how can I do what God wants and what I
- 17:31want?
- 17:33How can I do what God wants and what
- 17:36other people are expecting me to do
- 17:40at the same time?
- 17:43We want to be able to hold on to our
- 17:45options.
- 17:49We want the approval of others. Verse
- 17:5220, first let me go kiss my father and
- 17:55my mother goodbye and then
- 17:59I will go with you. This is not simply
- 18:03I have to let them know.
- 18:06This is a seeking of approval.
- 18:10First, let me make sure that it's okay
- 18:12with them.
- 18:15That story is echoed in Jesus
- 18:19in Luke
- 18:219:59 and 60. He said to another, "Follow
- 18:24me." But he said, "Lord, first let me go
- 18:27bury my father." And Jesus said to him,
- 18:29"Let the dead bury their own dead, but
- 18:32you go and preach the kingdom of God."
- 18:34His father wasn't dying. Wasn't in the
- 18:36hospital about to pass on hospice.
- 18:40his dad might not die for 30 years.
- 18:45What he's saying is culturally they
- 18:47expect me to stay around and take care
- 18:51of things
- 18:52at home. And Jesus said absolutely not.
- 18:59We want to delay. Let me go visit my
- 19:02family first.
- 19:05visiting them,
- 19:08saying goodbye, getting their approval.
- 19:10That might take time. So Elisha is like
- 19:13many people.
- 19:15He's not saying absolutely not. He's
- 19:18saying I will
- 19:20later.
- 19:22I will do God's will. after
- 19:27Genesis 24:55.
- 19:29But her brother and her mother said,
- 19:31"Let the young woman stay with us for
- 19:33for a few days, at least 10, and after
- 19:37that she may go." But this was not
- 19:40acceptable to Elijah
- 19:42because delay is dangerous.
- 19:46You know why delay? It's dangerous when
- 19:48you delay.
- 19:51It's dangerous
- 19:54because it makes us feel better even
- 19:56though we're disobedient.
- 20:01We would be convicted if we said no.
- 20:05But it sounds so nice. We say later.
- 20:08Isn't that nice? Later.
- 20:11Later is just a nice sounding no
- 20:16but it makes us feel better. Pray. Amen.
- 20:21That that's so good, God. And I will
- 20:25later.
- 20:27But delay is dangerous because it kills
- 20:30desire. Do you know when you delay doing
- 20:33God's will, the desire to do God's will
- 20:36fades?
- 20:38I remember what it was like as a young
- 20:41disciple. I would be in conferences like
- 20:44this and my heart would begin to pound.
- 20:47I knew what God wanted. There was a
- 20:50stirring that's there. Maybe that's
- 20:53happening right now. God is dealing with
- 20:56you right now.
- 20:58But if you delay,
- 21:01it'll fade.
- 21:03You won't feel like that
- 21:07months from now unless you put some
- 21:11things in action. James 1:23 and 24.
- 21:15Those who hear God's teaching and do
- 21:17nothing, they're like people who look at
- 21:19themselves in a mirror. They see their
- 21:21faces and then they go away and they
- 21:23quickly forget
- 21:26what they look like.
- 21:29We want to maintain our security.
- 21:33This calling, the mantle comes. But
- 21:36maybe he's thinking, "But what if this
- 21:38profit thing doesn't work out?"
- 21:42the plow,
- 21:44the oxen, the yolk.
- 21:47That would be plan B. I have I can
- 21:50always go back to farming if the profit
- 21:53thing doesn't work out. That plow will
- 21:56still be waiting for me back home.
- 21:59We want security. We want guarantees.
- 22:04Where will the call take me?
- 22:07No idea.
- 22:09What What will it be like? What what
- 22:11what will happen? No idea. Can you
- 22:15guarantee that I will succeed?
- 22:18Definitely not. You know what's amazing
- 22:21is that Elijah cast the mantle with zero
- 22:25information.
- 22:27He didn't cast the mantle and said, "And
- 22:30here's a print out of everything that
- 22:32will happen." He cast the mantle and he
- 22:36said
- 22:38nothing.
- 22:40no details.
- 22:42But isn't that what God does for us?
- 22:44Hebrews 11:8. By faith, Abraham obeyed
- 22:48when he was called to go out to the
- 22:50place which he would receive as an
- 22:52inheritance. And he went out not knowing
- 22:56where he was going.
- 22:59And so many people here they are trying
- 23:01to negotiate. They become almost
- 23:06followers,
- 23:08almost disciples,
- 23:11almost missionaries. And the Bible's
- 23:14filled with almost followers, isn't it?
- 23:16Lot's wife who looked back and became
- 23:18hardened. Saul who had partial obedience
- 23:21and lost the kingdom. The rich young
- 23:23ruler loved money and lost his destiny.
- 23:27Deeus, who loved the world and walked
- 23:29away.
- 23:30James 1:8 in the Living Bible says,
- 23:33"Every decision you then make will be
- 23:36uncertain as you turn first this way and
- 23:38then that."
- 23:41But the Bible says that Elisha faced his
- 23:44calling and he burnt his plow.
- 23:49Verse 21, he returned to the oxen,
- 23:51slaughtered them, used the wood from the
- 23:53plow to build a fire to roast their
- 23:57flesh. Once the cows are killed,
- 24:00once the plow was burnt, there was no
- 24:03going back. They're gone.
- 24:07And this shows us what is needed to do
- 24:10the will of God. It is total commitment.
- 24:14It means you have to tie yourself
- 24:18to a particular options. You know what?
- 24:21When you remove your options,
- 24:24it makes you focus and give maximum
- 24:30effort. Before I was a pastor, I did a
- 24:33an apprenticeship
- 24:36in glazing, working with glass. I'm
- 24:38actually a glazier by
- 24:41trade.
- 24:43The problem was glazing was the second
- 24:46worst paying trade in all of Australia.
- 24:49Only hairdressers were paid less than
- 24:52glaziers. I'm one of the few men I got a
- 24:56pay raise when I became concert
- 24:58director.
- 24:59Like 275 a week.
- 25:09And then I was sent out on the cutback
- 25:11system. Every 90 days, my whopping
- 25:15salary of 275 was cut by 25% every 90
- 25:19days.
- 25:23I had no options. Wasn't like I had this
- 25:26fantastic career. If this pioneering
- 25:28thing doesn't work out, I'll be back
- 25:33to glazing.
- 25:37You know what that did? The clock was
- 25:40ticking. that that motivated me. You got
- 25:43to get saved. I got to eat. You need to
- 25:45listen to me. I got to pray, man. I got
- 25:48to lay hold of God. This is because I
- 25:51didn't have options.
- 25:54And there are disciples here. There are
- 25:57pastors here. You are so
- 26:00smart. You are far smarter than I am.
- 26:03You're so clever.
- 26:05Some of you, you can make incredible
- 26:08money.
- 26:11And I feel sorry for you
- 26:16because you can be distracted. You can
- 26:20play at your ministry.
- 26:23You can dabble
- 26:25and give a little bit of effort and it
- 26:29doesn't affect your lifestyle at all.
- 26:35cuz you've got so many plows.
- 26:40I want the will of God, but you've got
- 26:43all these plows.
- 26:45You've got all these options.
- 26:48You've got so you got plan B, C, X. You
- 26:52got a lot.
- 26:57He burned his plow. Burning your plow
- 26:59will cost you a team of oxen. the yoke
- 27:02that costs money. Burning your plow,
- 27:05yes, it might cost you financially. It
- 27:08might cost you security. It might cost
- 27:10you your plans and your your dreams.
- 27:14Let me caution every pastor here. You
- 27:17want to make disciples,
- 27:19you make a mistake when you try to make
- 27:22it easy on disciples
- 27:25and lower the cost. Instead of offering
- 27:28the pearl of great price, you're
- 27:31offering discount pearls, the pearl of
- 27:34convenience, the pearl of minimal cost.
- 27:39But that isn't what produces
- 27:43the life of God. 1 Chronicles 21:24,
- 27:47the New Century Version. But David
- 27:49answered Aruna, "No, I will pay full
- 27:52price for the land. I won't offer a
- 27:56burnt offering that costs me nothing.
- 28:00One man said almost followers keep their
- 28:03plows.
- 28:05True followers burn them.
- 28:09So the question is why was Elisha's
- 28:12calling so expensive?
- 28:15Why burn your pl
- 28:18because great callings require great
- 28:21commitment and great sacrifices.
- 28:24Elisha was going to impact an entire
- 28:27nation. In fact, he was going to impact
- 28:28several nations.
- 28:33Why is calling so expensive? Because
- 28:36we're going to win the world for Jesus.
- 28:39>> There there are people they they go
- 28:41online, you know, there are other
- 28:42churches, there are other fellowships,
- 28:44they don't require so they don't they
- 28:47don't have prayer and outreach and
- 28:49standards. It's not so ex It's easier.
- 28:53That's fine. I have no argument with
- 28:55that. But they're not winning the world.
- 28:59>> Listen, our goal in life is not to win
- 29:01the church softball league.
- 29:06Our call is to win the world for Jesus
- 29:08Christ.
- 29:10[applause]
- 29:12Amen.
- 29:14And we can only win the world for Jesus
- 29:18by burning our plows.
- 29:22And Elisha does it. And he
- 29:25se he's not mourning. He doesn't mope.
- 29:30He makes it a party.
- 29:33He celebrates his surrender. Verse 21,
- 29:36he returned to his oxen, slaughtered
- 29:38them, used the wood from the plow to
- 29:39build a fire to roast the flesh. And he
- 29:42passed around the meat to the town's
- 29:45people and they ate. Everybody felt the
- 29:49impact of his surrender
- 29:52when he burnt his plow. I got a photo
- 29:55here.
- 29:56In 1848,
- 29:59John and Charlotte Getty went to the New
- 30:01Hedes Islands. Modern days that's
- 30:03Vanoatu.
- 30:06The New Hees, the people
- 30:09of the islands, they were cannibals.
- 30:12This is incredibly risky to go there.
- 30:16But when he died, a plaque was placed in
- 30:19their memory. And it said when he landed
- 30:22in 1848, there were no Christians here.
- 30:26And when he left in 1872, there were no
- 30:29heathen.
- 30:31Total commitment
- 30:34is what brings the favor of God. Let's
- 30:37talk finally about life from burnt
- 30:38plows.
- 30:41Destiny and success
- 30:43flows out of commitment. You can never
- 30:47enter into God's will without
- 30:48commitment. Matthew 22:14, "For many are
- 30:51called, but few are chosen.
- 30:55Few are willing to burn their plows.
- 30:59Few are willing to take
- 31:02actual steps to enter into their
- 31:05calling."
- 31:07And let me caution you. If you decide
- 31:10this week to burn your plow, please note
- 31:13there often is a time frame between the
- 31:15burning of the plow and the entering in
- 31:18to your full destiny. First Kings 19:21,
- 31:21he arose and followed Elijah and became
- 31:24his servant. He didn't immediately start
- 31:27healing people, prophesying, raising the
- 31:30dead.
- 31:32You burn your plow and you find a place
- 31:35of service.
- 31:37You help in the local church. You help
- 31:40your pastor help other people enter
- 31:43their destiny.
- 31:46But burning his plow paid off because
- 31:49Elisha entered into a supernatural
- 31:52dimension.
- 31:54He took up the mantle of his pastor and
- 31:57was able to see a supernatural dimension
- 32:00at work through his life. 2 Kings 2:14,
- 32:03he took the mantle of Elijah that had
- 32:06fallen from him, struck the water, and
- 32:07said, "Where is the Lord God of Elijah?"
- 32:11And when he also had struck the water,
- 32:13it divided this way and that. And Elisha
- 32:17crossed over. Listen, when you burn your
- 32:20plow, you make room for God in your
- 32:24life. And now faithful service has added
- 32:27a supernatural dimension. This is the
- 32:30mark of Elisha's ministry is a
- 32:34supernatural dimension. He healed the
- 32:36water in the town which released
- 32:38fruitfulness. He brought supernatural
- 32:41direction
- 32:43that delivered the kings and their
- 32:45armies. He was able to bring
- 32:47supernatural financial provision to the
- 32:50widow through the oil. Debt was paid
- 32:53off. He's able to bring supernatural
- 32:55healing to non and his leprosy was
- 32:59cured. Able to bring life and
- 33:02fruitfulness to a barren woman. She has
- 33:05a son. Was able to raise a dead boy to
- 33:08life.
- 33:11Supernatural
- 33:13a supernatural dimension follows
- 33:17commitment.
- 33:19There may be disciples. There may be
- 33:21pastors here that the supernatural
- 33:24dimension is missing in your life. You
- 33:26say, "I don't have that. It's not
- 33:28working." Like you're describing. Is it
- 33:31possible?
- 33:33It's because you haven't burnt your
- 33:34plows yet.
- 33:38You You want God to bless, but you want
- 33:40to keep the plow.
- 33:44The final chapter of Elisha's ministry
- 33:47happened
- 33:48after he was dead. 2 Kings 13:21,
- 33:52the New Century Version.
- 33:55Once as some Israelites were burying a
- 33:57man, they suddenly saw a group of
- 33:59Moabites coming. The Israelites threw
- 34:01the dead man into Elisha's grave. And
- 34:04when the man touched Elisha's bones, the
- 34:07man came back to life and stood on his
- 34:10feet.
- 34:12Do you understand? Elisha was so full of
- 34:16the life and the power of God. His
- 34:21bones, he had to be dead a long time.
- 34:25His bones still had supernatural power.
- 34:28They go, "Oh, they got a dead guy." They
- 34:30throw him in there and the next minute
- 34:31they look back, he's still, "Hey guys,
- 34:33what's going on?" [laughter]
- 34:36filled with the life of God. This is
- 34:40actually something we all need to aim
- 34:42for in our life and ministry. Let there
- 34:45be something powerful
- 34:48in our lives that will outlive us. Let
- 34:52our children, let our converts, let our
- 34:54disciples still be feeling the life
- 34:59that was released when we burnt our
- 35:04plows.
- 35:06my disciplehip. Perth, West, Australia,
- 35:09became concert director.
- 35:12Was only a concert director for five
- 35:14months. We're about to be sent out. I'm
- 35:18Lisa and I are having dinner at my
- 35:20parents house and suddenly dad got a
- 35:22call from a frantic
- 35:25husband, a man in the church.
- 35:27His wife was just under six months
- 35:30pregnant.
- 35:32And this man is nearly hysterical. He
- 35:35said, "Doctors say they cannot detect a
- 35:39heartbeat. They have told us the baby is
- 35:42dead
- 35:44and tomorrow morning they are going to
- 35:46remove what they say is a dead baby."
- 35:50We immediately left dinner,
- 35:53rushed to the hospital, and listen, this
- 35:56was my dad. I was there. I can't say
- 35:59that I contributed much. This, and you
- 36:02got to catch this. This was before we
- 36:04even prayed for the sick. But I will
- 36:07never forget my dad walked into the room
- 36:10of that brokenhearted
- 36:14woman, that brokenhearted couple, and he
- 36:17prayed and I heard him say, "I command
- 36:20life to come into that baby."
- 36:24And that is exactly what happened. That
- 36:27baby came back to life. I want to show
- 36:29you a picture here. This was taken two
- 36:33Sundays ago. Thank God. [applause]
- 36:42On the left, that is the mother that my
- 36:45father commanded life to come into her
- 36:49body. And on the right, that is Misha. I
- 36:53know her as Misha Brune. She is now 40
- 36:56years old. because my father had burnt
- 37:00his plows. He had life in him. And when
- 37:05he prayed, life came into her.
- 37:08Thank God. [applause]
- 37:13I wonder how many miracles are going to
- 37:17be birthed
- 37:19by people in this conference or who are
- 37:22watching online who decide to burn their
- 37:25plows. I wonder how many testimonies in
- 37:29the years to come
- 37:31will be released because people once
- 37:34they burnt their plows, this
- 37:36supernatural life of God is at work in
- 37:39them. And you can take that life
- 37:43anywhere in the world and God will go to
- 37:46work. Let's bow our heads, close our
- 37:49eyes all across this place.
- 37:54Thank God.
- 37:59With our heads bowed, there are people
- 38:01that are here. I want to give you a
- 38:03challenge and that's I spoke about
- 38:05surrender and I was using it of course
- 38:08in the sense of surrendering to God's
- 38:11plans and will for your life. But there
- 38:13are people here you have never made the
- 38:16first step of surrender. It's called
- 38:19salvation. Being a Christian is not,
- 38:22"Yeah, I guess I can come to church
- 38:23every once in a while."
- 38:26Being a Christian is nothing less than
- 38:28when you surrender your life to God and
- 38:32you say, "God, I am willing to do your
- 38:36will." Sin is rebellion against God's
- 38:39will. Doesn't matter what flavor or type
- 38:42of sin.
- 38:44All sin is rebellion.
- 38:47To be born again is when you pray and
- 38:50say, "God, I want to live for you. I
- 38:52know the way I'm living is wrong, but I
- 38:54believe that Jesus died on the cross and
- 38:57shed his blood." If you are here tonight
- 39:00and you're not right with God and you
- 39:02want to pray and surrender to Jesus
- 39:06Christ, I want you to do one thing.
- 39:09Everyone else has their head bowed. Lift
- 39:11your hand up high so I can see. It's a
- 39:13big building. I want to see your hand.
- 39:15Thank you. I see that hand. Thank you at
- 39:17the back. God bless you. Thank you.
- 39:19People are lifting their hands. How many
- 39:21others raise your hand so I can see it.
- 39:23Hold it up high. I want to pray. I want
- 39:26to turn from my sin. I want to
- 39:28surrender. Thank God. I see hands that
- 39:30are going back up back there. God bless
- 39:32you. Thank you. Others you want to
- 39:35surrender. Thank God for you. Some of
- 39:37you are backsliding. This is what
- 39:38happened. At some point, you wanted to
- 39:42keep options open and you it took you
- 39:44away from God. Even though you were
- 39:46saved, how many backsliders, you say, "I
- 39:49want to get right with God. I want to
- 39:50come back home." Lift your hand right
- 39:51now. Hold it up. Put it right back down.
- 39:54You say, "Pastor Greg, I need Jesus. I
- 39:56want to come back home." Thank God. Now,
- 39:58I want every one of you. Thank God. I
- 40:00see that hand. Every one of you that
- 40:02raised your hand, stand up to your feet
- 40:04so I can see you. We're going to pray
- 40:05for you. Thank God. Thank God people are
- 40:07standing. Thank you. Come here. Come
- 40:09here. Get out of your seat right now.
- 40:11Don't wait. Come right now. I'm going to
- 40:13have someone pray with you. They're
- 40:15going to meet you here at the front.
- 40:17They're going to ask God
- 40:19to save you. God bless you. Just kneel
- 40:21down. Thank you, ma'am. God bless you.
- 40:23Just kneel right there. There you go.
- 40:26Thank God. Thank God for these people
- 40:28being honest. Kneel down. God bless you.
- 40:32God bless you, man. Thank you. Thank
- 40:34God. Thank God. Sam's going to pray for
- 40:36you. God bless you. Amen. Others are
- 40:39coming. I want to give you time before
- 40:41we do anything else. You want to get
- 40:42right with God is the most important
- 40:44thing we're going to do tonight. I want
- 40:46somebody to pray with that young man
- 40:48there quickly. Doesn't matter if you
- 40:49know him or not. Thank you. God bless
- 40:52you. These ladies, thank you every one
- 40:54of you. Kneel down. I want men to pray
- 40:57with him. These men, God bless you.
- 41:01Make sure a lady's praying with every
- 41:03lady. God bless every one of these.
- 41:05Making decisions. I need some men over
- 41:07here to pray with them. Lead them in a
- 41:09sinner's prayer. Thank God. Help them.
- 41:12Another one. One more. There you go.
- 41:16Let's all stand up to our feet. I gave
- 41:18you a challenge about burning plows. Let
- 41:21this be a night of surrender and let God
- 41:25help you. The altars are open. You come.
- 41:27You talk to God. Do business with God.
- 41:29Tell him what you're willing to do.
- 41:32Thank God.
- 41:34[music]

- 42:54>> Help them Lord God speak to them.
- 42:59Let issues be decided Lord Godless.
- 43:04[music]
- 43:07[singing]
- 43:15>> Oh God we thank you. I'm asking you Lord
- 43:19God accept
- 43:22[music]
- 43:23God accept our lives as a living
- 43:26sacrifice.
- 43:28[music]
- 43:38>> [music]
- 43:38>> Surrender

- 44:01>> Blessed Savior I surrender
- 44:06all. Now let's praise the Lord together
- 44:09right now. Thank you Jesus.
- 44:13Thank you Jesus. Hallelujah Lord God.
- 44:21[applause]
- 44:23Worthy is the lamb of God. Hallelujah.
- 44:31[applause]
- 44:37>> [applause]
- 44:42>> Oh,
- 44:44thank you Jesus. Thank you Jesus.
- 44:47[applause] Thank you Jesus.
- 44:53Hallelujah [applause] Lord God.
- 44:54Hallelujah.
- 45:12Lord, my hand is not
- 45:17in behind the things that you are
- 45:20holding on to. Leave behind the things
- 45:23that are hindering you. My hand is not
- 45:26shortened for you. I will do great
- 45:28things in you. I will surrender the
- 45:31nations unto you. For I hold the power
- 45:35in the palm of my hand. I will bring
- 45:38revival and breakthrough. I will pour
- 45:41out and I will intercede for you. You
- 45:44will see things that I have never done
- 45:46before. And you will see things that you
- 45:49would never imagine.
- 45:53Hallelujah.
- 45:54[applause]
- 45:56Hallelujah.
- 46:01[applause]
- 46:05Hallelujah.
- 46:09Thank God. I I ended the the sermon. I
- 46:13showed you the photo
- 46:17and I told you how my father he he said,
- 46:19"I command life to come." He prayed
- 46:24over Pam Brun. I command life to come
- 46:27into her body. I command life to come
- 46:30into that baby. Misha, a miracle. God
- 46:35did a miracle and raised her up.
- 46:39There are people here. I'm going to
- 46:41pray. I I'll pray for everyone, but
- 46:45I want to pray for uh several things
- 46:47here that are connected to this. There
- 46:49are people that first of all, you are
- 46:54barren physically. You're not able to
- 46:57have children uh and husband and wife,
- 47:00you're not able to have children. God is
- 47:03able to bring life into barren bodies.
- 47:07Then I want to pray and this is of
- 47:09course some of these may be watching
- 47:12online. There are uh women that right
- 47:15now you are having complications in your
- 47:18pregnancy and there there is great fear
- 47:21always when there's a a problem in
- 47:24pregnancy. God can bring life and
- 47:27reverse that. Then I'm going to [music]
- 47:30pray for anyone that you have a terminal
- 47:33illness, cancer or any uh illness that
- 47:37the doctors told you that this can't be
- 47:39cured, that this will take your life.
- 47:42God is the God of resurrection. He is in
- 47:46charge and he gets the final vote in
- 47:49life. Then I want to pray. There are
- 47:52people here, you need healing, but
- 47:57you could say a part of your body is not
- 48:00working. It's dead. That might be you
- 48:02have a deaf ear, a blind eye. It might
- 48:04be your thyroid is not producing. A
- 48:07kidney, uh liver, it might be part of
- 48:09your heart they've told you has died.
- 48:13It's not pumping properly. Part of your
- 48:16lung is uh is dead. you're not able to
- 48:20receive full oxygen or maybe you've had
- 48:22a stroke and there's a it is though your
- 48:25nerves and motor control is dead. I want
- 48:29to know how many people first of all in
- 48:30the building here if that applies one of
- 48:32those apply to you. Lift up your hands.
- 48:35Baroness, pregnancy complications,
- 48:38terminal illness, some part of your
- 48:40body. Lift up your hand. We're going to
- 48:41pray. I want you to put your hand on
- 48:44your body. Let's pray for these people.
- 48:46Anyone online, you put your hand on your
- 48:49body right now. I speak life
- 48:54into these bodies right now.
- 48:57I command there to be life into barren
- 49:00wombs.
- 49:03There will be normal conception.
- 49:07Right now, I speak to any pregnant woman
- 49:12having problems. I speak life into their
- 49:15body.
- 49:17I speak life into that baby right now.
- 49:21God, I need you to bring life into deaf
- 49:24ears and blind eyes,
- 49:28dead hearts,

- 50:17healing in your body. Lift up your hand.
- 50:19Something else that I didn't name many,
- 50:20many hands. Put your hand on your body
- 50:23where the problem is. You got more than
- 50:25one problem, put it on your head and God
- 50:27will know where the power needs to go. I
- 50:30want you to say this out loud. Say, in
- 50:32the name of Jesus,
- 50:33>> I take dominion
- 50:35>> and I cast out death.
- 50:37>> I cast out
- 50:38>> and infirmity
- 50:40>> and injury.
- 50:42Leave my body.
- 50:44>> I speak life.
- 50:46>> I speak life
- 50:47>> into my body.
- 50:49>> Resurrection life.
- 50:51>> I will be made whole.
- 50:54>> My body
- 50:56>> will function normally in the name of
- 51:00Jesus Christ. Now let's praise the Lord

- 51:42couldn't see or listen out of that ear,
- 51:45whatever it's if it's bending or moving
- 51:48some action. I want to know right now
