  1. 0:00Welcome to your portfolio. So this video
  2. 0:03is going to talk about the portfolios
  3. 0:04for your level three and four
  4. 0:06qualifications and the level five and
  5. 0:08upwards. So there's a slight different
  6. 0:09variation in the different levels. So
  7. 0:12portfolio common mistakes not putting
  8. 0:15your name on it. So page one, put your
  9. 0:18name on it and sign it. So date it for
  10. 0:20each submission. Ensure when it comes to
  11. 0:23your portfolio, you answer every single
  12. 0:25question. And a key thing is answering
  13. 0:28the verb. What is the verb asking you to
  14. 0:30do? And check with your marking guide.
  15. 0:33The marking guide will give you clear
  16. 0:34guidance on what things you need to put
  17. 0:36into your answers. So things that come
  18. 0:39up a lot is using chat
  19. 0:41GBT that is not allowed. Everything must
  20. 0:45come from your own words. So anyone
  21. 0:47found using artificial intelligence chat
  22. 0:50GBT can be disqualified from your
  23. 0:53qualifications. So do not use it. So
  24. 0:55your portfolios there is a word count
  25. 0:58for the levels three and four but when
  26. 1:01it comes to level five we're expecting a
  27. 1:03lot more detail from you. So there is no
  28. 1:05word count. The word count is a rough
  29. 1:08guide. So it gives you a depth of how
  30. 1:10long each answer should be. If you're
  31. 1:12really really short then obviously
  32. 1:14you're not reaching the required level
  33. 1:17of the question. So what do the
  34. 1:20questions or what do the verbs actually
  35. 1:22ask you to do? So explain. So what is
  36. 1:26the subject? So imagine you are
  37. 1:28explaining the subject and actually this
  38. 1:30is for all levels that you're explaining
  39. 1:32the subject to a complete novice,
  40. 1:34someone who doesn't have a clue about
  41. 1:35teaching. That's how you need to break
  42. 1:37it down. Give examples in your own
  43. 1:40subjects. So whether you're teaching
  44. 1:42first aid, health and social care,
  45. 1:45construction, give examples of how it
  46. 1:47links to your subject and talk about
  47. 1:49your workplace, your environment. Yeah.
  48. 1:52How is it relevant to your environment
  49. 1:55that you're teaching in? So, is this
  50. 1:57going to be in a college? Is this going
  51. 1:59to be in a school? Is this going to be
  52. 2:01in a private training provider, a
  53. 2:03prison? Talk about your subjects. And
  54. 2:06this when we talk about authenticity,
  55. 2:08you're signing this declaration on page
  56. 2:10one to say this work is yours. This is
  57. 2:12what gives it that is that
  58. 2:14personalization to your subjects, your
  59. 2:16experience. Now, other key verbs to talk
  60. 2:19about is analyze. What does analyze
  61. 2:22actually mean? So, you need to go back
  62. 2:24to Bloom's taxonomy or the level detail
  63. 2:27in your in your answers. So, analyze,
  64. 2:30talk about the subject, break it down,
  65. 2:33break down the stages, explain the
  66. 2:35stages for an absolute beginner, and we
  67. 2:37want to look at the benefits and
  68. 2:38limitations of that. Now, if you are
  69. 2:42doing a level five, you need to use
  70. 2:45Harvard referencing. So you need to have
  71. 2:47a look on the internet, find some books
  72. 2:49about linking these to publish materials
  73. 2:52to support your answer. Um, and then
  74. 2:55we're looking at evaluate questions.
  75. 2:57Evaluate questions still require you to
  76. 3:00talk about the basics. So what is it?
  77. 3:02What are stages? Then with an evaluate
  78. 3:05question, you want a conclusion. So you
  79. 3:07talk about your benefits, you talk about
  80. 3:08your limitations and conclude about your
  81. 3:11your own opinions on how you feel that
  82. 3:14it's appropriate. So when we talk about
  83. 3:16evaluate processes and procedures, talk
  84. 3:18about the processes and procedures in
  85. 3:20your organization or an organization of
  86. 3:22your choice and determine are they
  87. 3:25suitable for what it's asking to do. So
  88. 3:28just follow those basic guidelines and
  89. 3:31you'll have no problems with your
  90. 3:32portfolios. Just ensure once you've done
  91. 3:36five questions, just email it to the
  92. 3:38office and we'll have a quick look
  93. 3:39through it before you plow through the
  94. 3:40rest of it.
