  1. 0:08Hello guys, it's Rusei.
  2. 0:10Sorry that I was too busy, so  not much update this league.
  3. 0:14Actually, in 3.29, I played a lot of Luminary  builds. Flame Link KB is the most broken one of
  4. 0:21course, but surprisingly, this Ascendancy  is also very suitable for minion builds.
  5. 0:27In this video, I just want to show you guys my  final build in 3.29, and also my favorite one:
  6. 0:33the Luminary Voidforge Chains of Command.
  7. 0:36It's an all-content walking simulator playstyle  with absurdly high damage and tankiness. Hands
  8. 0:42down the most budget-efficient  minion build I've ever played.
  9. 0:46Basically, the interaction is that your mercenary  will buff all the allies with Rallying Cry,
  10. 0:52because Rallying Cry actually has  double effect on minions. So this
  11. 0:56warcry literally gives our minions  more than 1K flat physical damage.
  12. 1:02If you have played minion builds before, you know  how crazy such an amount of physical damage means.
  13. 1:08For minions, this is equivalent to socketing  40x T1 physical damage Ghastly Eye Jewels.
  14. 1:16Since we have so much additional physical  damage, the most suitable minion to pair
  15. 1:21with is Voidforge turned into Animated Weapons.  It will multiply that physical damage by 8 times,
  16. 1:30so we're looking at like 10K flat damage on each  of our minions just from the Rallying Cry buff.
  17. 1:38The damage number is just absurd, and  we can have up to 14 Animated Weapons.
  18. 1:44The gameplay footage showing right now  is me doing Uber bosses. Basically,
  19. 1:49all Ubers just melted instantly. And at  this point, I have about 300 million DPS.
  20. 1:56The character is also fairly tanky and got about
  21. 1:591 million EHP. Because we already have  so much damage scaling from the warcry,
  22. 2:05we can dedicate all our resources into building  good defense, which I will introduce later.
  23. 2:12My final version character cost about 500  Divines, including a Mageblood. Mostly spent
  24. 2:18on the mercenary, but actually you only need  anywhere around 10 to 20 Divines to get started.
  25. 2:25Compared to traditional Necromancer  Animated Weapon builds, the Luminary
  26. 2:29version doesn't need to stack Ghastly  Eye Jewels for flat physical damage,
  27. 2:34so it can be started at a relatively cheap  cost. I would say the only mandatory item
  28. 2:39is a Voidforge sword. The rest are just some  cheap unique items and a warcry mercenary.
  29. 2:47The weapon of the mercenary is also important  because that determines your minions' base
  30. 2:52damage. Luckily, there are many unique two-handed  axes that can be used as budget alternatives.
  31. 3:01So at the low budget stage, if you can get  a Voidforge and a unique two-handed weapon
  32. 3:06on your mercenary, you can already start  playing this build with 100 million DPS.
  33. 3:12Of course, if you have a bit more budget,  maybe around 50 Divines to set up defense
  34. 3:18gear for both your Animated Guardian and  yourself at once, the overall play feeling
  35. 3:23will feel much better. Then we can continue to  craft increased Warcry effect gear and a really,
  36. 3:30really big two-handed axe for your  mercenary to push the damage to the moon.
  37. 3:36I will put two PoB versions, the  final version and a budget version,
  38. 3:41in the video description for your reference.
  39. 3:44This build uses so many unique  items and technologies, so let's
  40. 3:48talk about the build itself and how it works.
  41. 3:51Let's start from our mercenary.  This build uses a Swiftblade,
  42. 3:55and our whole damage is relying on him.
  43. 4:00It all depends on the Rallying Cry buff. Now,  this warcry will give you 4% of the base damage
  44. 4:06of your main-hand weapon per 5 power. There is  no in-game UI to see the actual power number,
  45. 4:13but you can check this chart to estimate it  by yourself. If you have the Roaring Challenge
  46. 4:20anointment, this will give you 25% increased  total power, which is very important when bossing.
  47. 4:27So usually during mapping, you can easily  have up to 30 power, which means 24% weapon
  48. 4:33DPS. And this warcry buff actually has 100%  more effect on minions, which leads to 48%.
  49. 4:42And my mercenary gear and amulet anointment
  50. 4:45provided more than 100% Warcry  effect in total. So in the end,
  51. 4:51almost the entire 100% damage of the mercenary's  main-hand weapon is being buffed to our minions.
  52. 4:58Usually, most Rallying Cry players use a Karui  Chopper because this weapon has the highest base
  53. 5:04damage. This is the most important item, I would  say, in the entire build. You will want to look
  54. 5:11for a high base damage Karui Chopper, and all  that base damage gets buffed to our minions.
  55. 5:17In this interaction, you also want as much warcry  buff effect as possible for your mercenary,
  56. 5:24so investing currency to craft gear  for your mercenary is very rewarding.
  57. 5:31Another main point is how to  keep up the Rallying Cry buff,
  58. 5:34because we want a permanent Rallying Cry, right?
  59. 5:37First, anoint As the Thunder node  for increased Warcry duration,
  60. 5:42and take Deep Breaths for 35%  increased warcry cooldown recovery.
  61. 5:49Next, you should pick the support skills for  Rallying Cry. Try to get a mercenary with
  62. 5:55Greater Duration and Greater Cooldown Recovery,  together with Incite. It will provide maximum
  63. 6:02Frenzy Charges for all the allies. If you  can get that, that's a perfect mercenary.
  64. 6:08We don't need any auras from our  mercenary, so this Swiftblade is
  65. 6:12actually very easy to find. Yeah, so here  is how we get a permanent Rallying Cry.
  66. 6:19If you are just starting off, you can simply give  your mercenary a Foulborn Uul-Netol's Kiss with
  67. 6:26500% increased Warcry cooldown recovery  rate. It also has decent base damage.
  68. 6:32So with this weapon, you don't even need any  mercenary gear to get a permanent Rallying
  69. 6:38Cry. It is a perfect starting weapon, and it  was really cheap this league. You can use it
  70. 6:45until you craft a perfect Karui Chopper  and warcry gear before swapping it out.
  71. 6:52The mercenary also solved a lot of problems  for Chains of Command builds. For example,
  72. 6:57how to maintain the Animated  Weapon number in a boss room.
  73. 7:02For players who have never played Chains of  Command before, let me explain the mechanism.
  74. 7:07The core item, Chains of Command, says  that whenever your guardian kills an
  75. 7:12enemy, Chains of Command will clone your  guardian's weapon as an Animated Weapon.
  76. 7:18So we give Voidforge to  our AG, and with Gravebind,
  77. 7:23nearby enemies killed by anyone count  as being killed by your AG instead.
  78. 7:29So whenever you enter a new  map and your AG kills an enemy,
  79. 7:33this loop will be triggered and clone all  Voidforges. You can have up to 14 of them.
  80. 7:40But if you are in a boss room, there are  no small enemies you can kill, right?
  81. 7:44The traditional solution is ring swapping  to use The Squirming Terror or Hateful
  82. 7:49Accuser to create worms or ghosts in  a boss room so your AG can kill them
  83. 7:56to trigger your Animated Weapons. But it  feels clunky to swap rings before bossing.
  84. 8:03Right now, with the mercenary, you can  equip two Squirming Terror rings on him.
  85. 8:10This will continuously generate worms,  which is enough for us to maintain 14
  86. 8:15Voidforges in any case. We no longer need  to sacrifice our ring slots during bossing.
  87. 8:21We can use our ring slots to get more  damage or provide more defense instead.
  88. 8:27On top of that, you can even have  permanent Intuitive Link on your
  89. 8:31mercenary. Whenever this guy attacks, it  will trigger linked spells automatically.
  90. 8:37It's literally automation for all spells! You  no longer have to cast Spirit Offering and
  91. 8:44curses manually. This provides huge quality  of life and makes the playstyle become a
  92. 8:49true walking simulator. The only skill I  use during mapping is my movement skill.
  93. 8:57Okay, next let's talk about the defense.
  94. 9:00This build is fairly tanky and  can survive most Uber boss skills,
  95. 9:05like the flicker slam of Uber Shaper  and the memory game of Uber Maven.
  96. 9:11Because we already have so much  DPS scaling from the warcry,
  97. 9:15we can invest most of our gear into defense.  The defensive mechanics can be very flexible:
  98. 9:21you can choose to go CI or Life/ES hybrid like me.
  99. 9:27We have 90% maximum resist,
  100. 9:30decent physical reduction, and immunity  to elemental ailments and Corrupted Blood.
  101. 9:36On top of that, the main defense layer  is max block. I cap attack and spell
  102. 9:42block at 78% with Aegis Aurora, which  provides very good ES recovery on block.
  103. 9:50Many people may wonder why not use Svalinn  shield instead, right? Which gives higher
  104. 9:55EHP. Because the biggest weakness of this  build is lacking recovery. As a Luminary,
  105. 10:02your minions and mercenary cannot leech life for  you, so recovery on block is extremely important,
  106. 10:09right? I would say Aegis Aurora is almost a  mandatory item. Our recovery relies on that.
  107. 10:17I personally use Aegis Aurora  with a +2 maximum resist implicit.
  108. 10:23It helps me cap 90% max resistance easier.
  109. 10:27My current version uses a Mageblood, which  provides movement speed and maximum resistance.
  110. 10:33Before getting a Mageblood, I used Darkness  Enthroned socketed with two T1 physical damage
  111. 10:40Ghastly Eye Jewels with taunt on hit and blind on  hit. Having taunt on hit minions feels quite good.
  112. 10:48My aura setup uses Tempest  Shield to cap spell block,
  113. 10:52combined with Flesh and Stone to get  20% less damage taken from hits in Sand
  114. 10:58Stance. We are also immune to elemental  ailments thanks to the Stormshroud jewel.
  115. 11:05For more physical reduction, we have Enduring  Charges, and my Chains of Command has physical
  116. 11:10damage taken from hit as lightning, along  with Arctic Armour to provide more physical
  117. 11:17reduction. That's why this character can  face-tank the flicker slam of Shaper.
  118. 11:23In theory, going CI or using a  Progenesis flask can give even more EHP,
  119. 11:30but there's no challenging content in  3.29, so I'm just too lazy to swap.
  120. 11:36Maybe I will try to swap to  the CI version in next league.
  121. 11:45Let's look at the gear on  AG and character. Basically,
  122. 11:49they are almost the same as a traditional  Necromancer Animated Weapon build.
  123. 11:54Ancient Skull to get more minion damage and attack  speed. This helmet literally provides 50% more
  124. 12:01damage. I personally use it with a +2 Gem implicit  and socket my AG in it, making it level 28. If
  125. 12:10your AG dies, you brick the map, so stacking  AG level is the first priority for this build.
  126. 12:19And Foulborn Severed in Sleep is  the BIS weapon for this build. It
  127. 12:23also provides minion chaos resistance so  your minions don't die from the Whispers
  128. 12:28effect on Ancient Skull. They are a perfect combo.
  129. 12:33I also use Withering Step in my automation  to apply the wither debuff on enemies,
  130. 12:39so Foulborn Severed in Sleep also provides  some crit multiplier for my minions.
  131. 12:44Next up is the ring slot. Minion movement speed  is mandatory because we are using melee minions.
  132. 12:51So minion movement speed directly impacts  your mapping speed. On top of that,
  133. 12:57minion damage and attack speed are just bonuses.
  134. 13:00The gloves and boots are just to cap resistance.
  135. 13:05For the AG, the gear is basically the standard
  136. 13:09suit for Chains of Command builds. - The weapon: Voidforge, of course.
  137. 13:14- The helmet: Leer Cast to get increased  damage, and you can try to get life regen
  138. 13:21or life leech implicits. - The body armour:
  139. 13:25Gruthkul's Pelt for 10% life regen. - The boots: Kahuturoa's Certainty to
  140. 13:32avoid AG dying from damage over time. - The gloves: Gravebind to count
  141. 13:38nearby kills as AG kills to trigger the  Animated Weapons on Chains of Command.
  142. 13:44Remember that once you give items to  your AG, you cannot take them back. So
  143. 13:48remember to quality and enchant them  first before giving them to your AG.
  144. 13:56Okay, now let me look at  the skill tree and jewels.
  145. 13:59The principle of the tree is  to get as many jewel sockets
  146. 14:03as possible. I think the power of  jewels is kind of broken in PoE 1.
  147. 14:08I personally opened three big minion damage  clusters for Renewal and Vicious Bite,
  148. 14:14and one minion life cluster for Blessed Rebirth  and Life from Death. They are mandatory.
  149. 14:22I also use Light of Meaning combined with  Unnatural Instinct to get a lot of ES,
  150. 14:28resistance, and block chance, plus a  Stormshroud for avoiding elemental ailments.
  151. 14:38I use Aegis Aurora and Mageblood  to cap 90% max Cold resistance,
  152. 14:43combined with a Melding of the  Flesh to apply it to all elements.
  153. 14:50And Elegant Hubris (Caspiro) to get Supreme  Ostentation allows us to ignore attribute
  154. 14:57requirements, so I can tattoo my entire tree for  resistance or block chance. Because this build
  155. 15:05uses so many unique items, it's good to find  resistance on the passive tree. Additionally,
  156. 15:13Hubris will transform some nodes into other  useful stats, for example, minion damage,
  157. 15:19Enduring Charges, or chaos resistance.
  158. 15:23Next up are Rune Grafts of Fortress  and Treachery for global defense and
  159. 15:29mana reservation. It's low priority,  so only do this when you are rich.
  160. 15:36For the rest of the empty jewel sockets,  they are just optional. You can either
  161. 15:42use them to get more life or more DPS.  I currently socket all with Ghastly Eye
  162. 15:50Jewels for more damage because I want  to see how fast I can delete an Uber.
  163. 15:55The rest of the tree is simply getting minion  damage, block chance, and life. So quite clear.
  164. 16:03Yeah, that's pretty much about  it for the build. Basically,
  165. 16:07it's an all-rounder build and the  strongest minion build I have ever played.
  166. 16:14However, Luminary also has some drawbacks:
  167. 16:16First off, it is not a league starter. You  need at least a Voidforge to get started,
  168. 16:22which can be a bit difficult in the first  three days of the league. Therefore,
  169. 16:28you had better play other Scion builds first  until you earn enough currency for Voidforge.
  170. 16:34Second, the Luminary Ascendancy basically  provides zero defense mechanics. Defensive
  171. 16:41capabilities completely rely on jewels and  gear. Therefore, before your gear is formed,
  172. 16:48playing it won't feel as tanky as a  Necromancer. But this will be solved
  173. 16:52after pushing up the gear budget, eventually  reaching almost the same level as a Witch.
  174. 17:00Overall, I think the Luminary version is  more fun to play. It has much higher damage,
  175. 17:05no need to swap gear when bossing, and auto-curse  and auto-offering give big quality of life.
  176. 17:13The interaction of Rallying Cry and Voidforge  simply triples our damage. You can start off
  177. 17:18the build at around 20 Divines with over 100  million DPS. Super budget-efficient, right?
  178. 17:27Lastly, I want to remind you that in  this video, I only introduce the core
  179. 17:31mechanics. Chains of Command Voidforge  is actually the most complicated minion
  180. 17:36build in this game. It requires some  background knowledge about minions,
  181. 17:41for example, how to keep your AG  alive and sustain Animated Weapons.
  182. 17:47So if you have never played Chains of  Command before and want to try it out,
  183. 17:53I suggest you watch my 3.29 Necromancer  build guide first. Most of the gear and
  184. 17:59technologies are the same, and then  you will know how to pilot this build.
  185. 18:04Everyone is saying that GGG is going to nerf  Luminary because Flame Link KB builds are too OP,
  186. 18:10but for this build, the mercenary is just a warcry  buff machine. As this build is so niche with
  187. 18:18almost 0% players, I really hope it can survive  until next league. So GGG, please don't nerf it!
  188. 18:25Basically, if this build doesn't get nerfed,  I will definitely lock this for 3.30!
  189. 18:32Yeah, that's all the content for today!
  190. 18:33If you want to see more updates for  3.30, leave a comment and subscribe.
  191. 18:38See you next league!
