  1. 0:00so uh so yeah that kind of brings us
  2. 0:03relatively up to date with alex jones he
  3. 0:05spent like the last
  4. 0:06so when obama got uh re-elected then he
  5. 0:09just kept that
  6. 0:10train going he kept the money train
  7. 0:12going he always was like on the
  8. 0:14periphery of politics he would never
  9. 0:16like he didn't trust anybody in the
  10. 0:18federal government enough to ever like
  11. 0:19align themselves
  12. 0:20but then he found out that trump needed
  13. 0:22his support because of their connection
  14. 0:24with roger stone
  15. 0:25and then he became a trump guy and in
  16. 0:27those years a lot of stuff happened to
  17. 0:29them i guess we probably shouldn't skip
  18. 0:30over the
  19. 0:31sandy hook stuff no they think about it
  20. 0:34um so
  21. 0:34sandy hook 2012 2012
  22. 0:38and he was like the very next day
  23. 0:41i tuned into a show because i was i i
  24. 0:44was shuddering to hear like the route
  25. 0:46that he was going to go with it but
  26. 0:47again that's like
  27. 0:49time out yeah real quick you've been an
  28. 0:51alex jones listener for
  29. 0:53well over a decade then yeah yeah i paid
  30. 0:55attention to him i think
  31. 0:56starting in like 2006 2007 and that's
  32. 1:01wild to me because i i don't think i
  33. 1:03have had that a reoccurring
  34. 1:06character in my life for that long other
  35. 1:08than like family and friends
  36. 1:10so it's it's intriguing to me that you
  37. 1:12have been that
  38. 1:14um i don't say invested
  39. 1:18but if you you've been following him for
  40. 1:20that long
  41. 1:21and you're and you're not necessarily
  42. 1:23following because you
  43. 1:26agree with him you're just intrigued by
  44. 1:28him i'm fascinating by
  45. 1:30fascinated by him as an individual and
  46. 1:31when you put it that way
  47. 1:33i'm like holy [ __ ] like i've been
  48. 1:35listening to alex jones on the radio
  49. 1:37you stalk him like yeah i'm a stalker if
  50. 1:40i was alex jones i'd be creeped out by
  51. 1:41me i
  52. 1:42i've been listening to him for longer
  53. 1:43than i had a dog like yes he is
  54. 1:46my relationship with alex jones is a top
  55. 1:49four
  56. 1:50length relationship in my life which is
  57. 1:53very that's that's pretty cool i've
  58. 1:55lived a pretty excellent life
  59. 1:57uh he i've i hardly ever agree with
  60. 2:00anything that he says about
  61. 2:02anything uh but he's always just been
  62. 2:04like a fascinating dude
  63. 2:06to me like somebody that he's he appears
  64. 2:08to be
  65. 2:09this confident in all these theories
  66. 2:11that he's got and
  67. 2:12uh but i i was like there were times
  68. 2:14that i haven't listened to i haven't
  69. 2:16really listened to for the last couple
  70. 2:17years
  71. 2:17he's gotten boring like that's the worst
  72. 2:20like if you're not a trump fan uh
  73. 2:22and you're an alex jones fan you
  74. 2:24probably abandoned
  75. 2:25alex jones because he just became like
  76. 2:28kind of a mainstream-ish guy
  77. 2:30where now he's like you know he's
  78. 2:33involved in the government whereas
  79. 2:34before it was all him like trying to
  80. 2:36take on the government and take it out
  81. 2:38and uh but i have gone through periods
  82. 2:40where i stopped listening to him like
  83. 2:41after sandy hook it was tough like i
  84. 2:43didn't want to listen to him anymore
  85. 2:44because it was
  86. 2:45at that point it became very obvious
  87. 2:47what he was doing which is uh
  88. 2:50he was what's the psychology i do want
  89. 2:53you to finish that but i'm intrigued by
  90. 2:55the psychology
  91. 2:56of uh cause like i do it for i'll follow
  92. 2:59a lot of like right-wing
  93. 3:00talking heads on twitter or whatever the
  94. 3:03case may be on youtube right
  95. 3:04just to get another perspective but for
  96. 3:08like
  97. 3:0810 years i'm unsure if i have that
  98. 3:10resolve like what's the psychology
  99. 3:12behind you
  100. 3:13being so loyal a listener yeah well
  101. 3:17i mean we've had billy on the show for
  102. 3:18four years so like i can deal with a lot
  103. 3:20of shitty takes
  104. 3:22my brain is equipped to handle it
  105. 3:25no but we they were talking about this a
  106. 3:27lot when rush limbaugh died
  107. 3:29that people who listen to the radio are
  108. 3:32usually alone in a car
  109. 3:34usually very you know not they're just
  110. 3:37not
  111. 3:37socially activated so during these times
  112. 3:40where they're alone
  113. 3:41they're letting all this information
  114. 3:43stream to their head and look
  115. 3:44as you know before i started working for
  116. 3:46part of my take and i
  117. 3:48listened to part of my take three days a
  118. 3:49week on the way to school
  119. 3:51i felt like i knew pft in big cat
  120. 3:54before i ever met them and you have this
  121. 3:57connection to them and it's weird
  122. 3:59like you think they're your friends
  123. 4:01because you know
  124. 4:02you've had so many conversations with
  125. 4:05them
  126. 4:05but you're just listening to it so they
  127. 4:08become
  128. 4:09a friend of sorts which causes loyalty
  129. 4:12which causes you know gullibility and
  130. 4:16naivety to believe what they're saying
  131. 4:18it's a very
  132. 4:19powerful sort of relationship that you
  133. 4:21see with joe rogan especially
  134. 4:23i love serious billy serious abilities
  135. 4:24quickly become one of my favorite people
  136. 4:26you're not wrong
  137. 4:27but it's just it's interesting to see
  138. 4:29you like bill you flip a switch man
  139. 4:31this is this is book smart billy coming
  140. 4:33out now
  141. 4:34i like it maybe next time you can be in
  142. 4:36the studio for this but yeah uh
  143. 4:38he's he does have a point which is
  144. 4:41here's what billy's point
  145. 4:42boils down to is i had a job and so i
  146. 4:44commuted
  147. 4:45so yes billy's right like it would be in
  148. 4:48my car
  149. 4:49i think i just boiled that down to the
  150. 4:52essentialness of this
  151. 4:53of what you're saying there billy which
  152. 4:54is like i was in my car
  153. 4:56for an hour a day and uh alex jones
  154. 4:59would be on the radio during that hour
  155. 5:01and so i could either listen to him or
  156. 5:03listen to
  157. 5:04like tom petty radio again on the only
  158. 5:07classic rock station in town you know
  159. 5:09like do i want to do
  160. 5:10lead before bed or do i want to turn on
  161. 5:12alex jones on my way back and listen to
  162. 5:14him just ranting about something
  163. 5:16ridiculous so
  164. 5:17i also haven't been listening to him
  165. 5:18that much uh in the last
  166. 5:21four to five years since i've been up
  167. 5:22here because i'm just i don't have the
  168. 5:24time
  169. 5:24i also don't know exactly where to find
  170. 5:26alex jones anymore but he was on my
  171. 5:28radio every day because
  172. 5:29i knew that on my lunch break i could
  173. 5:32hear him just getting
  174. 5:33[ __ ] wild with the news just having
  175. 5:35an apeshit field day with the news
  176. 5:39[Music]
