0:02CLC thank you guys for coming out
0:05tonight uh you're not having to fight
0:07snow or too frigid of weather uh but we
0:10thank you all for coming and this is our
0:13final installment of the spring series
0:17of our personal growth and development
0:18class uh our theme has been season of
0:22increase and how many have enjoy the
0:24session so far have them been beneficial
0:27to anybody
0:28amen well I for sure have really enjoyed
0:31it uh every session has had something
0:35that I've been able to take away
0:37something from it and do something with
0:38it and so I appreciate that our speakers
0:40have done a fantastic job uh but you
0:43know what we have saved the best for
0:45last and so uh tonight uh we have with
0:49us uh brother uh Mark copelan and uh
0:53Pastor copelan he has a master's degree
0:57in Christian leadership from Wilson
0:59University
1:00and his church that he pastors is a Pine
1:03Grove Pentecostal Church it is fast
1:06becoming one of the largest churches
1:08Apostolic churches in North America uh
1:11they have got a lot of good things going
1:13on and whatever they're doing is working
1:15so we want to hear a little bit more
1:17about that and uh they have started uh
1:20multiple Branch Works they've had a lot
1:23of growth and a lot of good things
1:25happening and that's part of our uh
1:27Vision as well here at CLC see is
1:30growing and expanding but you know what
1:32to expand things in the spiritual it
1:34takes natural resources and so the
1:38spiritual and the natural have to be
1:39working uh together in order for this
1:42thing to really work and brother
1:44Copeland's Ministry uh has been used all
1:47over to be able to elevate many of God's
1:51people uh out of poverty and into great
1:54Prosperity he's been able to take people
1:56and teach the word to them and Empower
1:59them and engage with them and see great
2:01things happen and as a result the
2:03kingdom of God has grown and expanded
2:06and I don't know about you but that
2:07sounds a lot like what's happening here
2:09and what we want to see more of around
2:11here I want to be a big part of what God
2:14is doing around here and so without
2:17further Ado brother copelan would you
2:19please come and speak to us why don't we
2:21give him a hand clap of appreciation as
2:23he comes
2:28tonight thank you hallelujah thank you
2:31all thank you for the kindness all those
2:34wonderful words I hope God forgives you
2:37for saying all that and I hope he
2:40forgives me for enjoying
2:42it uh what a great night what a great
2:46vision um that brother Adams has for
2:51personal growth and personal
2:53development um in fact I told the uh Bal
2:58conference last year that uh I
3:03love that they've been able to create an
3:07atmosphere for growth uh these
3:12Concepts um need to be taught they need
3:14to be learned they need to be
3:16understood and
3:19somehow they've been able
3:21to uh the only way I know how to
3:23describe it is sometimes you just can't
3:25grab a hold of something until someone
3:28puts a handle on it and that's what
3:30these sessions do it gives you a handle
3:34to grasp on a concept that you can't
3:37quite get your hands around unless
3:38someone helps you and uh so thank you
3:41thank you for this
3:42Vision um when you pull up in this
3:46parking lot everything looks so nice it
3:48looks so great uh I have so many
3:51complimentary things I want to say I
3:53don't want to take too much time CU I
3:54don't want to get into trouble on my
3:56time but yet at the other hand it can't
3:58go without saying that this is a very
4:02beautiful first class operation and you
4:04should be very very proud and thankful
4:06to be a part of what's going on here in
4:09Memphis and uh what great leadership you
4:12have uh in brother and sister Adams uh
4:16we love and appreciate him uh I'm I'm
4:19very much a loner uh I'm the I'm the
4:23kind of person that if you don't call me
4:26I probably won't call you
4:30uh until it just I'm not one of the guys
4:34just call around talk to people I got
4:37friends that just call me and just they
4:39just call a talk and um it's not that I
4:42don't want to talk to people I'm just
4:43not cut out of that fabric if I if it's
4:47time to talk I may call you up and talk
4:49to you about something if not you may
4:51not hear from me till till I do it
4:52doesn't mean I'm not your friend it just
4:55that's just the way it is and I
4:57appreciate uh brother Adam friendship in
5:00the fact that when we do talk it's not
5:03awkward because of that he don't expect
5:06all this back and forth in order to have
5:08a friendship I really respect that and
5:10appreciate that I appreciate that so
5:12much and uh so we can go months without
5:16talking and then when we talk it's just
5:17we pick right up like we talked
5:19yesterday boy I covet those kind of
5:21friendships and relationships I've got
5:23other friends if they don't hear from me
5:25in a little while when we call it's
5:27stiff and prickly on the phone they're
5:29aggravating cuz we hadn't been talking
5:30you
5:31know and so thank you so much for just
5:34being a great Pastor a great leader
5:37you've got one of the greatest pastors
5:39and leaders in the world and I mean
5:46that and uh I truly don't feel like uh I
5:51I appreciate so many of the kind things
5:53that was said but honestly I I spend a
5:56lot of my time feeling like I'm trying
5:58to keep up with brother Adams and y'all
5:59all and I genuinely mean that so thank
6:01you so
6:03much for this invitation to be a part uh
6:07of what you're
6:08doing uh now I'm going to I'm going to
6:12we're going to pray and go into this but
6:13before we do I want to say that I'm
6:15under no Illusions tonight that I'm
6:18going to bring you anything that you
6:19have not
6:20heard brother Adams is very very
6:25equipped uh in in anything I'm going to
6:27talk about tonight but one of the things
6:30that makes the word work and makes our
6:34churches work is someone else coming in
6:38and reaffirming what we've heard from
6:40our
6:41leadership it's God's plan so I don't
6:44think I'm going to bring you anything
6:45that's going to wow you or blow your
6:47mind tonight if it does I'm just saying
6:50it in a different way than he said it
6:52and I will say that sometimes that
6:54really really irritates me in my church
6:57whenever I've been preaching and
6:59teaching a concept and then a guest
7:01comes in and preaches something and my
7:02people are like wow did you hear what he
7:06said tonight and I'm like yeah I've been
7:09saying that for two
7:15months and we have to feel that way also
7:17as
7:18parents you know you'll tell your kids
7:21something tell your kids something and
7:22then they'll come in you know what my
7:24teacher told me today and it's like it's
7:26this novel idea you know you ever heard
7:29that before I think I
7:32have I think I've told you that a few
7:34times but you have selective hearing so
7:39uh there's nothing that's going to
7:40happen tonight that you have not heard
7:42but I want to do everything in my power
7:44to back up what your pastor's teaching
7:46you how he's leading you let's go to
7:49prayer and ask God to help us tonight
7:50Jesus dear Lord thank you so much for
7:52your goodness your mercy your grace
7:55thank you God for talking to our hearts
7:57and our minds and our spirits tonight we
7:59desperately desperately need your word
8:03hallelujah speak to us tonight God in
8:06Jesus name we'll give you praise we'll
8:09give you glory in the name of Jesus
8:13Jesus name if you are a person that
8:16likes
8:18titles um I'm going to be talking to you
8:21tonight about principles for maintaining
8:25favor principles for maintaining favor
8:30uh favor and
8:33blessing seem to be easy to get that's
8:37not where our struggle is our struggle
8:40is maintaining it after we've achieved
8:43it I've seen too many sad
8:47occasions where people in our church
8:49have gotten
8:50blessed great favor has came to them and
8:55in a little while they're struggling to
8:57keep it because it's either made them
9:00arrogant or ungrateful or BR bitter or
9:05some Spirit has come along to attack
9:07them and they Fallen prey to it and they
9:10have lost the favor and the blessing
9:13that was once theirs and so there are
9:15some Concepts and there are some
9:18principles to keeping and
9:21maintaining that favor and that seems to
9:24be the harder uh
9:26thing uh it's like
9:30uh anybody that that um trains a little
9:33bit can run a 100 yard
9:37dash but the New Testament Paul said the
9:40problem isn't running that 100 yard dash
9:44it's he that can endure endure to the
9:48end and so getting the favor of God
9:51acquiring the blessing of God is not
9:53where the real trick is it's maintaining
9:56it over time keeping a good spirit not
9:59allowing the Devil to trip you up to
10:01where you lose what is what God has
10:04given you because when you do everybody
10:07loses if you lose grip of that favor
10:11it's going to cost your marriage it's
10:12going to cost your home it's going to
10:14cost your finances it's going to
10:16ultimately cost the the the future of
10:18your
10:20church Hallelujah because your pastor
10:24has has not necessarily become dependent
10:27but he's been able to enjoy
10:29what God has flow flowed through you now
10:32don't worry God can switch channels real
10:35quick but that's not what he want we
10:37want him to do I told someone the other
10:40day I said one of the great one of the
10:42greatest insults that you can
10:44give a parent that has lost a child is
10:49to say to them oh God I give you another
10:52one they don't want another one they
10:55want that one
10:59and time will fix all that you know the
11:03time will come that they will probably
11:05enjoy another
11:07child but what while they're still in
11:09the throws of loss is not the time to
11:11and the pastor's the same
11:14way you know some I had someone call me
11:16the other day and said brother Copeland
11:18you may lose people but I'm going to
11:19tell you ever he said that God spoke to
11:21him and and hey I I believe it I I don't
11:23doubt it but still it didn't feel good
11:26it was one of those backhanded
11:28compliments
11:29he said OU going to lose some people but
11:32God is going to every person that leaves
11:36God's going to replace them 10
11:40times and I hung up the phone I said
11:42that that doesn't feel good I don't want
11:45those
11:4610 imaginary people that's out there
11:49somewhere right I want those people that
11:52I've built that relationship with that's
11:53right that's right that I prayed for
11:56them when they were sick in the hospital
11:57and I I baptized them and I was praying
12:00with them when they got the Holy Ghost
12:01and I preached their graduation in our
12:04Christian school and they got married
12:06you you
12:07know I preached their wedding I I I I
12:10then then I baptized their kids and
12:13there's a relationship here that's going
12:16on and so your pastor does not want to
12:21does not want to see you lose the
12:22blessing even though God can just turn
12:24it on somewhere else he wants you he's
12:28built a relationship with you he wants
12:30that funnel to come through you am I
12:32making sense to you here
12:33tonight
12:35Hallelujah and so let's go to the word
12:37of the Lord um 2 Corinthians chapter 9
12:43and verse
12:448 2 Corinthians 9 and 8 this is a very
12:47familiar uh passage of
12:52scripture 2 Corinthians chapter 9 and
12:55verse
12:568 says and God is able
13:00now the the wording right here is is
13:04vital this is not a
13:08promise as much as is a
13:12condition he is
13:14able to make all grace abound toward you
13:19that you always having all sufficiency
13:21in all things may abound to every good
13:24work he is able to do this but he's not
13:28promising to
13:30and the reason he's not is because you
13:32have a
13:33responsibility to make this happen now
13:37he's able to do it he's able to and I
13:40love how many times Paul uses the word
13:42all
13:44here he's able to make all
13:49grace abound toward you that you always
13:52having all sufficiency in all things I
13:56love the all encompassing of this ver
14:00verse this is one of my favorite verses
14:03because I can grab on to that and know
14:06that he is able to make all th all good
14:11things come into my life and abound unto
14:13me but there are conditions to making
14:17that happen third John chapter
14:191 and verse two and we're going to move
14:22on quickly whenever we get these two or
14:24three verses out of the way and uh man
14:28I've got some I've got some things I
14:29want to talk to you about
14:32tonight 3rd John 1 and: 2 says beloved I
14:37wish here
14:39again this is not a promise this is a
14:44wish so in in the in the first verse he
14:48says God's
14:50able and in this verse John says I
14:54wish it is my
14:56wish that Above All Things
15:00now I love the way that that says that
15:02there above all other things in other
15:06words this is the answer to the rest of
15:09your life if you got this then
15:11everything else Falls in
15:15order in other words I don't have to
15:17wish anything else if you can get this
15:20right everything else will fall into
15:23order because it's encompassing the
15:25whole man I wish that thou mayest
15:27prosper and be in a health even as your
15:30soul prospers so he wants you to be
15:32financially blessed blessed in your
15:34health and blessed in your soul but it's
15:37all conditional on how your soul is
15:42prospering so the Soul's got to come
15:45into alignment
15:47first and then the other things
15:50follow Deuteronomy chapter
15:5311 and verse 22 and we're going to read
15:57a few verses here Deuteronomy the 11th
16:00chapter in verse
16:0322 Deuteronomy 11:22 says for if ye
16:07shall
16:09diligently keep all of these
16:14Commandments I have been amazed in
16:18pastoring how people love to use what I
16:20like to call replacement
16:26theology they use replacement theology
16:29and it and it abounds in
16:31Pentecost I was amazed by it and and
16:37replacement theology that I'm talking
16:39about is this well I don't pray that
16:42much so I'll do a lot of Bible
16:46reading to make up for the fact that I
16:48don't pray a
16:50lot I don't give a lot so I'm going work
16:53around the church a
16:55lot or if I give a lot I don't have to
16:58come to work day I don't have to help
17:00out because I'm one of the biggest
17:02givers in the
17:04church y'all know anybody that uses
17:06replacement
17:09theology I'm not real faithful to
17:12church but boy when I come I'm going to
17:14bring the pastor
17:18gifts and they think one makes up for
17:21the
17:22other and if replacement theology works
17:25at church then it works in baking a cake
17:29I'm out of flour so I'll use a lot of
17:31baking
17:34soda I mean it's the same it's white
17:37it's got kind of the same
17:39consistency I mean shouldn't that work
17:43or I don't have any baking soda so I'll
17:44just put an extra cup of flour
17:48in and then shocked when the cake don't
17:52come out right well I don't know why the
17:54cake don't come the cake didn't bake
17:57properly I mean I was out of of baking
17:59soda and I used some
18:01extra uh flour but why didn't why didn't
18:05the cake turn out right because
18:07replacement theology doesn't
18:11work it calls for every ingredient in
18:14the measure that it's asked for and you
18:18can't make up in one area of your
18:21life by by by by another
18:24area if you're real faithful to the
18:27prayer room it doesn't mean you don't
18:28have to pray in your personal life
18:32sure if you really bring your Bible to
18:34church and follow along in the Scripture
18:36it doesn't mean you don't have to read
18:37your Bible when you get
18:39home and there's literally people that
18:42think that way and so the first thing I
18:45want to draw your attention to is you
18:48shall diligently keep all the
18:51Commandments not some of
18:53them and not double up on a few because
18:55you're falling down on one of the other
18:57ones it's all the Commandments which I
19:01command you to do them to love the Lord
19:03your God to walk in all his ways and to
19:05cleave unto him now we're going to read
19:06a a few verses here we're just going to
19:08read just a little bit uh into this into
19:11this uh
19:12chapter so we're going to go through uh
19:15I can't remember there's about six or
19:17eight verses here then will the Lord
19:20drive out all the nations from before
19:22you and you shall possess greater n and
19:25mightier Nations mightier than yourself
19:28you're literally going to conquer things
19:31that are bigger than you are that is a
19:34powerful promise right
19:38there you you understand that when you
19:41take this into our life what it mean
19:43we're not fighting Philistines
19:46anymore but we're fighting things on the
19:49job and we're fighting things in our
19:51family that sometimes we think to oursel
19:54this is bigger than I am don't worry
19:56about it if you're keeping his
19:58Commandments
20:00he's going to give you the power to
20:02overcome things that are bigger than you
20:06are all right
20:0824 man I love this this chapter every
20:12place where on the souls of your feet
20:15shall tread shall be yours from the
20:18Wilderness and Lebanon from the river
20:21the you River eup frees even unto the
20:24utmost sea shall your Coast be
20:30every place you're here's the deal what
20:33this really means and this is something
20:35your pastor preaches all the time is he
20:38gives you Dominion yes when you're
20:41faithful yes yes but you got to be
20:43faithful in all the Commandments
20:47yes that that's going to be my key
20:49tonight that I'm going to be preaching
20:51to you is you got to get it right in
20:53every you got to check every box and you
20:56can't scribble in around some box is
20:58bigger because you missed one you got to
21:01go back and check the box you missed
21:04that is the biggest problem that I see
21:05in Pentecost is people think I'll double
21:07up on my prayer because I can't read my
21:11Bible I'll double up on my Bible reading
21:13because I'm not good at
21:16praying and I'm telling you it's got to
21:18be balanced the key to suc listen the
21:21key to success is
21:22balance balance balance it's got to be
21:26all of them all right let's read on
21:27verse 25
21:29there shall be no there shall no man be
21:31able to stand before you for the Lord
21:33your God shall lay the fear of you and
21:36the dread upon you on all the land you
21:39shall tread on as Heath said to
21:43you he wants to give you such a promise
21:48that when you walk into your job your
21:50boss just fears you just a little
21:55bit he wants to give you Dominion in the
21:58City to where your competitors just fear
22:01you I don't know what it is about those
22:04people that go that that Christian
22:06life but Bo there's just something about
22:10them that's what he wants you to do he
22:13wants to all right let's read on verse
22:1526 behold I set before you this day here
22:19it is it's up to you do you want to be
22:23blessed or do you want to be cursed and
22:26this is what I've been preaching to our
22:28people this year there is no middle
22:35ground there is no middle ground if you
22:38do it right you're going to be blessed
22:40if you don't you're going to be cursed
22:42and the cursed people always set across
22:44the church jealous at the people in the
22:46church that are blessed and they can't
22:48figure out they think God is a respector
22:51of persons they don't realize they're
22:53doing it to themselves that's right
22:56that's right they literally think God in
22:58the Pastor picks and chooses well the
23:01pastor I I know they they make a lot of
23:03money I'm sure he prays more for them
23:05than he does for me I mean I know I
23:06don't mean anything to
23:08him it's not
23:12that but that's the
23:14go-to well I understand they're special
23:17in the church they they they give more
23:19time they can give more than anybody
23:20else it has nothing to do with being
23:22special listen God's no respector of
23:24persons and a pastor's no respector of
23:27persons you know who we've visit in the
23:28hospital the rich and the poor the
23:30faithful and the
23:33Unfaithful the cursed and the
23:35Blessed God's no respector persons the
23:38pastor's no respector person I'm telling
23:40you the people in the church that are
23:42cursed they're not cursed because God's
23:44against them they they're cursed because
23:46they won't keep balance in their
23:51world all right it's a blessing on curse
23:54it's up to you a blessing if you obey
23:56the
23:57Commandments not one not some all of
24:01them of the Lord your God which I
24:03command you this
24:08day and a curse if you will not obey the
24:12Commandments of the Lord your God but
24:14turn aside out of the way which I
24:16command you this day to go after other
24:18gods which you have not known now stop
24:21right there the other gods today are not
24:24Baal they're not golden calves the other
24:27gods
24:29today are the love of money and the love
24:33of
24:35things that that's that's where our gods
24:38are
24:39today the whole principle of being
24:41blessed folks is the fact that we don't
24:44chase Mammon we chase
24:48God and God gives us the things that he
24:52wants us to have if we put the kingdom
24:55first that's the whole concept all right
24:57now we're going to we're going to get
24:59off this and and uh go go to another
25:03verse because because I want to hurry uh
25:06a curse if you will not obey the
25:08Commandments and here's what the writer
25:10said the writer said if you're and this
25:13is where the curse comes in if you're
25:15not faithful in one one commandment then
25:18you're not faithful in any of
25:22them now that's what the writer
25:25says the writer says if you're not faith
25:28in one commandment then you're guilty of
25:30the whole
25:33law and that's where we get goofed up is
25:37we think well we're not doing this here
25:40so we'll double up on this over here he
25:41said no no no you don't understand if
25:43you're not faithful in one then it
25:46messes you up in all of it and the curse
25:50comes upon you man I want to be blessed
25:53I don't want to be
25:54cursed all right so let's let's get into
25:57the uh uh teaching just a little bit we
25:59got the we got the scriptures
26:00established let's go to uh some teaching
26:04now we like the
26:07guy in our church who seeks first the
26:11kingdom but I found out we don't like
26:13him so
26:15much when all things start getting added
26:17to
26:21him y'all ever notice that oh we love
26:24him when he seeks first the kingdom but
26:26when God starts adding everything to him
26:28he falls out of
26:30favor we like the guy who humbles
26:33himself but how do you like him when God
26:35starts lifting him
26:42up there are some
26:45principles in the word of God that I
26:47want to talk about and I just briefly
26:49briefly touched this at Bal conference
26:52so if you were at Bal conference you're
26:53going to read you're going to remember
26:55some of this but let's go into it right
26:57quick
26:59all
27:00right in
27:02order we we know what it takes to be
27:05blessed but in order to stay
27:08blessed your blessing has got to have a
27:12foundation and that is that's probably
27:14the
27:15place that most apostolics mess up and
27:20here's here's what I want to pitch to
27:23you we we misunderstand
27:29even those of us that have been in the
27:30church for years misunderstand how
27:31tithing
27:33works and because we misunderstand how
27:37tithing works we don't have a foundation
27:39for God's favor and God's blessing in
27:41our lives now what does that mean that
27:43means that that and
27:47and I want to say this without it being
27:49indicting okay please please understand
27:53when I say this I'm not trying to indict
27:54anybody but but yet at the same time
27:57you've got to understand this concept to
27:59wrap your mind about what I'm around
28:00about what I'm
28:03saying for years Pentecost had has had
28:08big auditoriums and little bitty Sunday
28:10School
28:12classes and the bab just bought bought
28:15bought our built Big Sunday school wings
28:17and a little bit of the
28:20auditoriums because Pentecost has got
28:22the idea that if you jump a lot and talk
28:25in tongues everything else Tak takes
28:28care of
28:29itself and it
28:35doesn't P talking in tongues does not
28:39overcompensate for not understanding
28:42scripture shouting and dancing and
28:44talking in tongues getting shout beat
28:46going and jumping around like a pogo
28:48stick don't overcompensate for a lack of
28:50theology that's
28:54right you you're just a tongue talking
28:57failure in instead of just a general
29:03failure I mean you can be an idiot or
29:05you can be a tongue talking
29:10idiot if if you talk in tongues without
29:13understanding what the principles of the
29:15Bible
29:17are then you you've really not helped
29:19yourself and I I I'm trying not to be
29:22unkind but it really is the truth I mean
29:24we and the same concept follows it seems
29:27like in in
29:29tithing people feel like if they give
29:31their
29:33tithes then they can do any whatever
29:36they want to with the rest of the money
29:37and God has to bless
29:40them because they
29:44tithed I'm just going to tell you
29:46something it doesn't matter how good you
29:50tithe if you're not a good
29:53Steward you're still going to wind up in
29:55financial trouble that's right
29:59right and so you have these people that
30:02tithe and give big offerings and then go
30:06do stupid stuff with their money and
30:07then it's God's fault when they get in
30:09financial
30:11trouble well I just tell you I'm just
30:14about half bitter brother Co because I
30:15don't know anybody that pays their TI
30:17and gives offers like I do and and and
30:18look at what it's done me look look at
30:20where I
30:25am tithing
30:28does not make it okay for you to
30:30misuse the rest of the
30:35money and there's literally people that
30:38think is they if they tithe an offering
30:40well I'm going to go out here and buy
30:41this and just believe God's going to pay
30:44for it cuz hey I paid my ti gave my
30:46offerings so I'm going to go buy a house
30:47I can't afford hey it'll come from
30:49somewhere I paid my ti I gave my
30:56offerings that's like saying I shouted a
30:59lot on Sunday night went out ate pizza
31:02stayed out all night I'm going to be
31:03late for work but God's going to take
31:04care of my job cuz I shouted last night
31:07I talked in
31:10tongues where do we where do we come up
31:12with these
31:14ideas see here's the here's the
31:17concept that I want I need to get across
31:20to you uh real quick let me let me let
31:23me go uh back back to another scripture
31:26I wasn't going go here yet but yet I I
31:28feel like I need to Hagi 2 and8 Hagi the
31:312 chapter and the e8th verse I want you
31:33to look at this because this is very
31:36important again I'm not going to I'm not
31:37going to throw anything at you you don't
31:39already know this is by way of reminder
31:41okay the silver is mine the Gold is mine
31:45sayith the Lord of hosts all right
31:47here's the entire concept are y'all
31:49ready for
31:51this it all is his yes not just the 10%
31:57yes
31:58yes
32:01yes the 90 is his too sir yes sir when
32:07you pay your tithe it does not mean you
32:09can do whatever you want to with the
32:1390% am I making sense to y'all right now
32:17that that's what that's what everybody
32:19has got to get a hold of that 90 is
32:21still his and he's still scrutinizing it
32:25to see if you're going to be a good or
32:26bad Steward with it
32:30tithing is not giv the Lord what's
32:36his
32:37tithing is a covenant and a reminder
32:40between you and God that it's all his
32:44and the tenth reminds you that it's all
32:47his it is a reminder every time you get
32:49increase that it all belongs to him and
32:52I'm giving him a tenth to make to re to
32:54renew the Covenant between us that it's
32:57all his and I remember that and I
33:00understand that and I got to be real
33:02wise with the other 90% sir yes sir so
33:06good I've got to invest it properly I
33:08got to put it in the right
33:11places because he's looking to me to be
33:15a good Steward of the 90% he's given
33:19me now here's the here's the here's the
33:23concept that I think is so important for
33:26church people to grasp and that
33:29is God cannot be a good
33:35Steward if he's giving to people who are
33:39not good stewards
33:44sir you nullify the ability for God to
33:47bless
33:48you if you're not a good Steward and
33:51I've literally had people come to me and
33:53say brother Copeland I don't listen I
33:55I'm not in a a Financial pece seminar a
33:59Dave Ramsey course on I don't make
34:01enough money to
34:05budget that doesn't even make
34:09sense if you get 10
34:12cents you got to budget that 10
34:15cents all a budget is is deciding what
34:19that 10 cents is going to
34:20do that's a
34:23budget you can drop it and lose
34:25it you can give it to some someone you
34:29can buy two pieces of gum with it and
34:31Chee one and give one to somebody
34:33else or you can buy two pieces of gum
34:36and chew both of them what you decide to
34:39do with that 10 cents is a
34:46budget you you can never make too little
34:50to decide where it
34:52goes that's the important thing is
34:55deciding where is this going to go and
34:57listen to
34:59me you got to do that before God's going
35:02to bless
35:03you because he's not a good Steward If
35:07He blesses here's the whole key if he
35:09blesses someone who's out of
35:13order it it's this it's the same concept
35:17as me walking up to a vending machine in
35:20a
35:21hotel and it's got a big out of order
35:23sign on
35:25it and I just start putting money in
35:29well someone's going to walk up to me
35:31and say hey dude are you
35:34blind are you
35:36crazy why are you putting money in a
35:39vending machine that has an out of order
35:40sign on it so good
35:43wow if your finances are out of order
35:46and your life is out of order and I
35:48promise you your life is out of order if
35:50your finances are if your finances are
35:52out of order your marriage is out of
35:55order you if your finances are out of
35:57order you and your spouse are
36:00fighting if your finances are out of
36:02order you're having trouble with your
36:04kids cuz they're not respecting your
36:07decisions they feel insecure in your
36:13home and so you're wearing an out of
36:16order
36:17sign and then you get in this debate
36:20with God but let me just tell you
36:21something God plac Simon
36:24says you've always got to make the first
36:27move and
36:30set the environment for the game that
36:32you play with God he's never going to
36:35make the first move you've got to make
36:37the first move and so here's where
36:39people get in a standoff with god well
36:41if God would bless
36:43me then I would give if God would bless
36:47me then then i' I'd get caught up on my
36:49ties if God would bless me I'd get my
36:52life straightened out and that's not the
36:53way it works the way it works is is
36:56you've got to produce the pad first for
36:59he's not going to bless dump he's not
37:01going to dump blessing out in your front
37:02yard for it to corrupt in the weeds and
37:05the
37:06grass like building a house you've got
37:08to build a pad for the blessing of God
37:11and he's not going to put money in a
37:12life that has an out of order sign on it
37:15you've got to get your life in order
37:17first because God has got to remain a
37:20good Steward and therefore he can only
37:22bless good
37:25stewards that's right and so it's all
37:28his It All Belongs to him I I tell I I I
37:32describe our this this way to our
37:35church and that is
37:42that God sends money to you in a
37:47basket 10% is the basket
37:51itself
37:5390% is in the basket
37:57and he hands it to
37:59you and for someone to not pay their
38:02tithe is for them to keep the
38:06basket well he can't fill it up and send
38:09it back if you keep the basket
38:12right yeah you got to give the basket
38:15back and then he puts 90% in again and
38:18hands it back to you and you take the
38:2090% And you give God the basket
38:24back and if you'll keep doing that
38:26throughout your life you'll have a flow
38:28that's
38:29beautiful but if you keep the
38:32basket then the flow stops because
38:35there's nothing to carry the flow in
38:38this thing is a beautiful concept that
38:41God has put together for us so you got
38:43to have a
38:44pad everybody say if you're going to
38:46build a house you got to have a pad you
38:48got to have a pad P the pad is Faith In
38:51God's provision it all comes from God
38:55all the way down to to you your mind
38:58your heart I I don't I'm not going to
39:00take time to go into this because I've
39:01got somewhere I want to go tonight but
39:02your mind your heart your spirit
39:05everything about you your the DEA
39:07movement of your hands the fact that
39:09your feet work the fact that you don't
39:10have a stroke the even your body your
39:13heart that beats belongs to God it's all
39:17God's and you're using it as a
39:21gift th this is this is why getting
39:24tattoos is a sin your body don't belong
39:27to
39:29you that's God's body that you're
39:32borrowing you say I don't believe that
39:34well look how quick he could suck you
39:36out of
39:39it that's right before this night's over
39:42you could be your body could be laying
39:44there in the carpet and you be gone he
39:47could disinhibit
39:49you it all belongs to God that's why you
39:54don't mark it up with tattoos it's God's
39:56body not yours and and so it all belongs
40:00to God the pad is the is the
40:02understanding that everything I have
40:04everything I am down to my children my
40:06children are not mine God is trusting me
40:09with them I've got a there's a number of
40:12things you got to be a good Steward of
40:14your family your spouse she she don't
40:16belong to you she belongs to God God is
40:19trusting you with
40:21her it all belongs to God the second one
40:24is the Footers of generosity
40:27you dig Footers to pour a concrete slab
40:30for the favor and the blessing of God
40:32and those Footers are generosity you've
40:34got to be
40:37generous folks th this is in the years
40:41that I've been pastoring I am amazed by
40:44this there there is a there's a concept
40:48in the Bible and I want to get I'm I'm
40:50I'm being real careful with my time but
40:52there's a story that Jesus tells in Luke
40:55the 16th chapter Luke the 16th chapter
40:57starts with a
40:58story and uh did I did I give you that
41:02that passage okay don't worry about it
41:04we're not going to go there I'm just
41:05going to tell the story because I I I
41:07want to get a I want to get ahead uh in
41:10in time just a little bit so let me just
41:11tell the story the story is this the
41:13story is that a a a owner business owner
41:17catches his his accountant stealing his
41:22money and he says I'm going to fire you
41:26you're not going to be my accountant
41:27anymore so the accountant gets upset and
41:31he says man if I'm going to lose my job
41:34I got to do something to hedge my
41:36bets so he gets to looking through his
41:40owner's books and he says there's a
41:42bunch of
41:43people that owe my owe my owner money
41:48that I'm keeping the books for and
41:50they're never going to pay
41:52him but if I'm not going to have a job I
41:55need somebody else to hire me and his
41:57thought process was if I'm good to a
42:01bunch of
42:02people somebody will give me a
42:07job and so he started contacting these
42:11people and saying look you own you owe
42:13my
42:16owner uh I don't I don't what the number
42:18what 100 100 jars of
42:21oil I tell you what if you'll if you'll
42:24give me 50 of them I I'll take your name
42:27out of his
42:30book I'll just make that debt
42:34disappear and he got 50 jars of oil for
42:38himself to hedge against this this time
42:41that he was not going to have a job plus
42:43a good relationship with someone else
42:45that owned a
42:46company yeah in case he needed a job in
42:49the
42:50future and he went to someone that own
42:52his owed his owner wheat and he said you
42:54owe my my my owner that worked for a
42:58hundred bushels of wheat but I tell you
43:00what if you'll just make it
43:0380 I'll make the debt disappear off of
43:05his books and he did this until several
43:09people he had good relationships
43:12with and he had a bunch of Wheat and oil
43:15and things of that nature to live on
43:16till he could get him another job and
43:19the Lord Jesus tells this story to his
43:23disciples and his
43:25listeners and he does not not tell this
43:27story because defrauding your owner the
43:30guy that you work for is wise move
43:34that's not what he's saying that's not
43:35the point of the story the point of the
43:36story
43:38is is that when
43:43you when you bless other people it comes
43:49back that's the whole that's the whole
43:51point of the story and he says you know
43:54it's an amazing thing to me that that
43:56people people in the world are
43:59wiser at scratching each other's
44:03backs than my children are yeah yeah
44:08that's right he said my children act
44:10like business sents don't
44:11matter that was the point are you
44:14listening to me that was the point of
44:15Jesus's
44:17story is the people in the world because
44:20they don't have me to depend on as their
44:22God they understand if good things are
44:24going to come to me if if I scratch his
44:27back when my back needs to be scratched
44:29he'll scratch my back the people in the
44:30world and said he said you people in the
44:32Kingdom y'all act like it don't matter
44:35to be good to each
44:38other and so here's the here's here's
44:41how it
44:43works I I I
44:46did I was just old enough that my
44:50great-grandparents had a pump out in
44:52front of their
44:53yard that's how they got water they had
44:56a pump
44:58pump and there was always a bucket
45:00hanging on that
45:03pump because they understood the
45:05principle that if they were going to get
45:07water out of that pump you have to prime
45:09the
45:10pump you have to pour
45:13in to get
45:15out and they take that bucket and they'd
45:18pour water in that pump and then they
45:20start pumping that hand in a little
45:21while you just had an endless gush of
45:25water there was not even an equal
45:27balance you you gave in little in
45:29comparison what came
45:32back I think one of the most important
45:35lessons that I that I've learned in in
45:38in finance and in pastoring
45:40people is a scripture that's not even
45:43related to finance but here's what it
45:46says it's Isaiah 9
45:49and6 and the line that I love out of it
45:52is this because it's
45:54applicable of his
45:59increase there is no
46:02end you know to everything else in life
46:05there's an end to it you know you can
46:07only squeeze so much out of a turnup you
46:10can only squeeze so much out of a lemon
46:12but what he's saying with God is there
46:14is no stopping point and we learned this
46:18in a number of
46:20Stories the Bible indicates to us that
46:22there was a little widow woman that did
46:24not have enough oil and and cake to
46:27survive oil and meal to survive and the
46:30Bible says she fed the preacher first
46:33and for the rest of her life is the
46:35indication in the Bible every time she
46:38went to get a little more meal and a
46:41little more oil it was there was more
46:44there it never ceased for the rest of
46:47her lifetime because of his
46:50increase there is no
46:52end there's another story of a lady that
46:55this is boy this this just boggles my
46:58mind and it reveals how people are
47:00there's another little lady that she
47:02says uh look the the the creditors are
47:05coming to get my
47:06sons I got to have help and the prophet
47:10says have you got anything in your house
47:12and she says I've got a little pot of
47:13oil he says well look take that pot of
47:16oil and he says go borrow
47:20vessels and then knowing how humanity is
47:24you almost hear a smart SM
47:27in the prophet he says and borrow not a
47:33few y yes sir he knew what she was going
47:36to
47:38do he knew she was going to go out there
47:40and borrow five or four or five pots and
47:44stop he says borrow not a
47:48few just keep
47:50borrowing and listen to me when she
47:53poured into the last pot she borrowed
47:57the O stayed I am
48:01convinced that had that's been 6,000
48:06years that had she kept
48:09borrowing and had she kept
48:12pouring right now today that little lady
48:15would still be filling pots with that
48:18oil because of his
48:22increase there the stopping Point's with
48:25us it's when we quit it's when we are
48:28you listening to me it's when you stop
48:30there is no stoping him it's when you
48:33decide it is
48:38enough you see in the Old Testament the
48:40requirement was just to meet the law as
48:43long as you there was nothing past it
48:45just meet the law but in the New
48:48Testament the it all changed he said the
48:50the motive has got to be different it's
48:52got to be a deal in the heart so here's
48:54the New Testament concept and it's found
48:57in in in Paul uh talking to the people
49:00about the assembling of yourselves
49:01together he said forsake not the
49:03assembling of yourselves together after
49:05the manner of some is here's the here's
49:08the key of the New Testament whether
49:09it's tithing whether it's
49:11giving you find it All Through The
49:13Sermon on the Mount forsake not the
49:16assembling of yourselves together after
49:18the manner of some is so much the
49:22more sir they said do you tithe in the
49:25New Testament I thought Testament was
49:27under the law no no tithing in the New
49:30Testament and so much the more you don't
49:32just tithe you give offerings above your
49:35tithes the concept of the New Testament
49:37is so much the more because he loved me
49:41and you find giving all through the
49:42sermon the mount he said if someone ask
49:44you to go one mile go two so much the
49:47more if they ask for your Coke give them
49:49your cloak also so the concept of the
49:52New Testament is so much the
49:55more because that's what primes the pump
49:58so if they want to slap One Cheek turn
50:01the other one say hey don't stop let's
50:03keep this thing going because my
50:05blessing is connected to so much the
50:08more I'm a twom mile man in a on Mile
50:11world because that's where my blessing
50:13comes from I'm a two mile man I'm a I'm
50:16a coat and a cloak man I don't just give
50:18you my coat I'll give you my cloak too
50:21because I don't believe his increase has
50:23a stop to it
50:29yes with everything else in life you can
50:31only turn it up so
50:34much with everything else in life you
50:36can only turn it up so much you know if
50:39you if you got one of those trucks that
50:41you
50:43you've put what I don't know what they
50:45call all that stuff what what what do
50:47y'all do those diesel trucks what is
50:49it huh what you put on
50:54them yeah you got that Pro program truck
50:57you can't just keep turning that knob
50:59there is an end to the
51:03increase not with
51:06God as much Faith as you got to turn
51:08that knob it just keeps coming back it
51:11just keep my God yes sir here's here's
51:15what I feel in the Holy Ghost to go to
51:17right now I wasn't even going to bring
51:18this in but I'm telling you if I I feel
51:20this in the Holy Ghost right now so
51:23every one of us have a river
51:26every one of us have a
51:28river and
51:30giving means that River that's flowing
51:32down out of the
51:35arcct it's where all the water comes
51:38from that River that's coming down out
51:40of the Arctic we start digging
51:44rivulets we start giving the missions
51:46programs and and we start we start
51:50giving offerings on top of our tithes
51:51and we decide this year we're going to
51:53do 10 and 10 this year we're going to do
51:5510 and 20 we we're going to give more
51:57and and we're going to give to this
51:59program we're going to help build a
52:00church here and we start digging these
52:03rulet off
52:04of our
52:07River to supply for all these other
52:09means and we find out that the more
52:11rivlets we dig the more comes
52:13down but here's what God Said through
52:16tithes and
52:18offerings there's
52:20one rivulet that comes off of our
52:25river that cir CES all the way back to
52:28the
52:29head that's ties and offerings all this
52:32other stuff gives out to the things we
52:33give to but there's one that circles
52:37uphill and goes all the way back to the
52:39top and the Lord said if you want all
52:41this to work you got to keep priming
52:44that pump you got to keep pumping back
52:46up to the
52:47top yes sir okay and we what we find out
52:51those of us that give what we find out
52:54is the more we pump Upstream
52:56the bigger our River
53:02gets but every one of us somewhere God's
53:05going to test you it doesn't matter if
53:07you own a business it doesn't matter if
53:08you work for someone it doesn't matter
53:10there's there's going to come test to
53:13see if you're operating out of blessing
53:15or if you're operating out of
53:18faith that day is
53:20coming and so what I I don't I don't
53:24understand why people do this
53:27but I'm telling you it's almost 100%
53:30till you get their
53:34attention we start understanding that
53:37that that rivulet that we're sending
53:39back up of tithes and offerings is Prim
53:42in the pump and that's what's keeping
53:43everything
53:45working but we got all the we we we we
53:48as we're blessed we start digging these
53:49rivulet and some of them are to bless
53:51the kingdom some of them are are for our
53:53own benefits and our own families and
53:55Camp houses and
53:57and all that stuff you know and God has
54:01no problem with that as long as you keep
54:03that stream priming the
54:06pump but sooner or later God's going to
54:09see let's God's going to decide let's
54:11see what they do let's see where their
54:12faith is let's see what they do if the
54:16river
54:17starts drying
54:20up let's see if it's real
54:25faith because giving out of abundance I
54:29hate to tell you this is not
54:33Faith yes sir it's not Faith until
54:36you're
54:38giving out of what's not what you don't
54:40feel like is
54:42there that's when it becomes
54:46Faith now here's the deal and this is
54:49what I don't understand I don't
54:51understand why when it gets like that
54:53the first thing people start cutting
54:55back on
54:56is the stream going to the
55:00top I'm telling you I've
55:03pastored they'll be giving giving giving
55:06giving and all of a sudden it'll just
55:07it'll go down to almost just their
55:10tithing and I'll go to them and say
55:12what's going on things are tight Pastor
55:15well have you have you sold a
55:17four-wheeler
55:19no have you got out of that hunting
55:21lodge that you're in for 15,000 a year
55:24no I still got that man I hate to lose
55:26that I get my spot I might not get it
55:31back have you sold your extra truck no
55:34no I a so you know I didn't think about
55:36that have you sold you got a boat
55:38sitting in your yard you never use it
55:40sits there
55:42it's it's growing weeds around the tires
55:45did you sell your boat no so the first
55:48thing you're going to cut off it's
55:51what's supplying everything else boy
55:53that's brilliant
56:00I'm talking to you about keeping the
56:01favor of God yes sir you listen to me
56:04when it gets tight don't cut what's
56:08supplying at all
56:10first you better keep priming that pump
56:13that's what keeps it FL keep oh my God
56:15have
56:17mercy listen to me I'm telling you after
56:21years of pastoring and watching People's
56:23finances when it gets tight I'm going to
56:25sell the four-wheeler I'm going to sell
56:26the gun I'm going to sell the dog the
56:29cat better run and hide everything
56:31that's loose in my house and I can get
56:33loose I'm going to get rid of it but I'm
56:35not go the first thing I'm not going to
56:37cut is not what's priming the pump and
56:40keeping the flow
56:43going because that's the foundation for
56:46God's favor I'm cutting that
56:49last I may have to cut my sacrificial
56:52giving eventually but it's not going to
56:54be the first thing it's going to be the
56:56the last
56:57thing that's good am I making sense to
57:01y'all sir oh it's so important what I'm
57:04saying right now that is what gets
57:06people in more trouble than anything I
57:08know and good stewardship has got to be
57:12a part of all
57:14this you you and and you know what I'm
57:17not going to get in the weeds of that in
57:19a in a one one and half hour session but
57:21you know what I'm talking about and if
57:23you don't get in a
57:25course if if you've not been and
57:27somebody said I'm doing fine I'm doing
57:28fine with my that's the time to get in
57:31the time to get in a financial course is
57:33not when things are going
57:34bad right that's right that's
57:37right you see people that won't take a
57:40financial
57:42course the root of that is they think
57:46they're doing it I don't need a
57:48financial course I'm doing good you
57:50really think you're doing
57:53this that's the very admission that you
57:55don't think God behind it you think
57:57you're doing it you think you're
57:59self-made you think you ought to be
58:00teaching the course well just let it get
58:03tight and we'll
58:05see taking a financial course is the
58:08first admission that it's all coming
58:09from God I don't have anything to do
58:12with
58:13this oh Lord I I I feel like I just High
58:16centered a a ship or
58:20something I really do I felt such
58:22resistance there I don't mean that to be
58:24smart Al like I'm me I'm as honest in
58:27all this as I can be no one is so good
58:30at their finances that they can't have
58:32some
58:33help in fact the truth of the matter is
58:35the more we're blessed the more loose we
58:37get with our finances and a lot of those
58:40courses we start leaving behind because
58:42we got so much
58:44fluff we don't need to do that anymore
58:47well I promise you God can put you back
58:49in a position yes sir that you need all
58:52those Concepts again that's right and
58:55it's waste
58:56oh my God have mercy it's waste whether
59:00it's tied or not because what you're
59:02wasting could be building a church
59:08somewhere all
59:10right this is what I really came all
59:12this was a buildup this is what I really
59:14came to talk to you about okay it's not
59:16going to take
59:18long but this is this
59:21is you cannot separate time from money
59:26okay time and
59:27money are the exact same thing they
59:30cannot be
59:31separated rich
59:35people buy
59:37time and poor people sell their
59:40time that's what makes the economy work
59:44what makes the economy work is broke
59:46people sell their
59:47time to a business owner that don't have
59:50a time to do a 100 things so he hires a
59:53100 employees and buys 40 hours a week
59:56from each one of them that's good that's
59:59so good that's how the economy works I
1:00:02sell my time if I don't have money and
1:00:05the guy that buy that has money buys my
1:00:08time from
1:00:11me time and money are
1:00:16inseparable so I started asking God
1:00:21why are some of my people that really
1:00:24give still struggling at
1:00:27blessing and I found
1:00:31it I found
1:00:34it the New
1:00:36Testament the New Testament Jesus said I
1:00:39did not come to do away with the
1:00:42law I came to fulfill the law sir okay
1:00:47are y'all with me here's the concept I
1:00:48came to fulfill it the way I came to
1:00:51fulfill it is you now don't do it just
1:00:54to me a quota
1:00:57you do it for
1:00:59joy and if you do it don't do it for Joy
1:01:03then there's no there's no Financial
1:01:06blessing in doing it at all there's no
1:01:08blessing that comes back to you you know
1:01:11some of the people that that give and
1:01:14can't realize a blessing it's because
1:01:16they're giving out of obligation and not
1:01:18not out of a heart God can't bless it
1:01:21until you're a cheerful
1:01:23Giver it actually steals the
1:01:26blessing unless you're doing it joyfully
1:01:30if you're doing it saying well I got to
1:01:31pay my TI and you know the preacher
1:01:33preaches I got to give 5% offering and
1:01:36and and you're you're writing that check
1:01:38and you're figuring it down to
1:01:41the I have tithing and offering checks
1:01:43that come in
1:01:46$16.21 what why not just do
1:01:5017 you're you're
1:01:54revealing you're revealing the lack of
1:01:58Joy y y'all you you know what I'm saying
1:02:04$621 why not just go
1:02:07650 at least
1:02:11625 you're revealing the fact that
1:02:14you're hanging on to those other $3
1:02:16nobody's going to get that out of my
1:02:18hand even
1:02:20God I gave him what's
1:02:23his you can literally see that spirit on
1:02:26their tithing
1:02:31envelope and they're robbing themselves
1:02:33of the blessing but the deal is is you
1:02:35can't separate time from money now th
1:02:39this is to me to me this has been a
1:02:42revelation and it's been vital
1:02:45if if
1:02:47tithing is still intact in the New
1:02:51Testament I don't believe it's just
1:02:54intact I believe it's so much the
1:02:57more if they owed a tent in the Old
1:03:00Testament plus an offering so much the
1:03:02more in the new test for what he did for
1:03:05us on the cross and on Calvary it's not
1:03:08that it's
1:03:09abolished it's that we now need to do it
1:03:12with joy in our heart and abundance I'm
1:03:15not just paying my tithes anymore I'm
1:03:17paying my tithes plus a whole bunch
1:03:19because I'm thankful for the cross and
1:03:21I'm thankful for the blood and and I and
1:03:24I believe in the blood in in the favor
1:03:26of
1:03:29God okay if that is
1:03:33true of the paper money yes
1:03:37sir then what is true of the invisible
1:03:41commodity and that's our
1:03:45time did you know Jesus had a t God had
1:03:48a tith on that too in the Old
1:03:54Testament here's what he said
1:03:57he said give me the Sabbath
1:04:01day this is going to blow your mind give
1:04:05me the Sabbath
1:04:08day as holy unto
1:04:12me a 24-hour
1:04:16period that belonged to
1:04:19God that's
1:04:21mine and I'll bless the other six days
1:04:28okay are y'all y'all y'all with me
1:04:30now is it not
1:04:32amazing that if you take 10%
1:04:36tithes on time there's 168 hours in a
1:04:40week your week is comprised of 168 hours
1:04:44a tithe on that is somewhere around 17
1:04:49hours and you do a 5%
1:04:53offering it comes out to 25 hours
1:05:00look at
1:05:01that here's the amazing thing about that
1:05:05is there's a lot of years that there's
1:05:07really 25 hours they have to adjust our
1:05:09calendar because of the cycling of the
1:05:13globe so our 24-hour day is not
1:05:21exact the first day of the week first
1:05:25the
1:05:26Sabbath the first fruits of your week
1:05:29was a tithe and an offering on the rest
1:05:32of the
1:05:33[Music]
1:05:39week and if we owe tithes on our
1:05:46finances and time is the commodity
1:05:49that's bought and sold by that
1:05:52money then why does he not require a
1:05:56tithe on our
1:05:58time and as it turns out it looks like
1:06:00he
1:06:07does this is 27 years of pastoring folks
1:06:11when people don't have
1:06:13money they give a whole bunch of time to
1:06:15the church the minute they get money
1:06:18they start throwing money at the church
1:06:20and they don't give any
1:06:21time my Lord
1:06:27I think I lost my
1:06:29mic did y'all hear that yes sir well
1:06:32that wasn't much of a
1:06:36response see when people are broke
1:06:39they'll come up vacuum carpets working
1:06:41come to work day and all that the minute
1:06:43they start getting
1:06:46money they say well I don't have any
1:06:47eggs for the cake I'll double up on the
1:06:52flower see y y'all didn't know I was
1:06:54going to come back did you see I was
1:06:55setting you up and you didn't know
1:07:01it all of a sudden they got camps they
1:07:04need to go to they got vacations they
1:07:07need to take they got motor homes they
1:07:09need to try out they got oxes in the
1:07:11ditch they just married a wife they got
1:07:13all the excuses Jesus talked about in
1:07:15the New Testament and so if I give a big
1:07:17offering Pastor won't mind if I
1:07:20leave it has nothing to do with
1:07:24Pastor go ahead that's right that's
1:07:27right PR it has to do that when you have
1:07:29children you want time with
1:07:32them that's right
1:07:35good how many of you your children get
1:07:38married you say well y'all just go on
1:07:39about your business we'll see y'all
1:07:41sometime next 10
1:07:43years no you know what you're doing
1:07:45you're calling them every week y'all
1:07:47coming over this week y'all y'all want
1:07:48to have a family night this night I'm
1:07:50all cook you want to come eat with me
1:07:51you know why you want time with those
1:07:53kids and guess what God wants with
1:07:55children that he's blessing he he wants
1:07:59time and he said if you'll give me a
1:08:02tithe and an offering on your time I'll
1:08:05bless the rest of your time the reason
1:08:07some of you struggle with time is you're
1:08:08cheating God out of his
1:08:14time
1:08:15so let's put the graphs
1:08:22up you got a total of 168 hours in the
1:08:27week 72 of those we're going to call
1:08:30free
1:08:32hours because 40 hours to spent at
1:08:36work 56 hours that's 8 hours a day time
1:08:407even 40 hours your week is spent at
1:08:42work 56 hours a week is spent sleeping
1:08:46that gives a total of 72 hours a week
1:08:51that's a 10.2 hours a day
1:08:55that you can do anything you want do
1:09:00with okay y'all with me on that concept
1:09:03you you got that all right let's go
1:09:05let's go to the next
1:09:06slide 106 hours a week 56 hours of sleep
1:09:1040 hours equals 96 hours consumed 96
1:09:14hours are consumed in sleeping and
1:09:17working your job now I understand that
1:09:19you say I got College I got kids you
1:09:21made all those choices
1:09:29you you decide to use that 72 hours the
1:09:31way you wanted to that's not God's
1:09:35fault okay all right next next one 72
1:09:40hours of equity free time after work and
1:09:43sleep all
1:09:45right if you spend eight hours at church
1:09:50per
1:09:51week that's approximately four hours on
1:09:53Sunday
1:09:55two
1:09:56Services all right that's two hours on a
1:09:59midweek
1:10:02service that's six
1:10:04right and then you give some time the
1:10:07church either come to prayer meeting or
1:10:09sit to a class or
1:10:10whatever you got eight hours
1:10:14involved that's 10% hang on of the free
1:10:17time all right that's not 10% of the
1:10:22time that's per 10% of the fre free
1:10:29time all right next
1:10:33slide we we got electives that the
1:10:35church gives to help you boost the time
1:10:39that's given to
1:10:41God music practice student Ministry
1:10:43choir practice teach a Bible study Bible
1:10:45quizzing small these are things that we
1:10:48offer you to boost your time spent with
1:10:51God because here's the deal you owe a
1:10:53tithe and an offer if the rest to your
1:10:55weeks go how many you struggle with time
1:10:58could it
1:11:00be could it be that you're not giving
1:11:03him his
1:11:03[Music]
1:11:05Sabbath it was not abolished by the Old
1:11:08Testament it was so much the more in the
1:11:11New
1:11:14Testament sir all right next
1:11:16one if a person gives 24 hours to the
1:11:19Lord is a tithe and offering of their
1:11:20time this is what God asked for in the
1:11:23law the first day of the week they're
1:11:24only giving a third of their free time
1:11:26to God 2/3 is still
1:11:33available same concept with money if
1:11:36you're getting a bind don't cut
1:11:40God if you're struggling with time don't
1:11:43miss
1:11:45church sir if you're struggling with
1:11:48time don't give up wh what you the area
1:11:50of your donation don't say I can't I
1:11:53can't uh incorporating by Bible study
1:11:56anymore I I'm busy I can't do Bible
1:11:58quizzing anymore I got too much on my
1:12:00plate I can't teach a Sunday school
1:12:01class anymore I got too much on my
1:12:04plate that's the last thing you want to
1:12:08cut he's the one supplying your
1:12:12time yes sir sir and when you give your
1:12:16time you're priming the pump you're
1:12:19you're sending it back upstream and more
1:12:21is going to come down the reason that
1:12:23you may be lacking on time is you're not
1:12:25sending as much up
1:12:30anymore why is it that our first thing
1:12:34we want to do when we get in a struggle
1:12:35on our time is cut our chur what we're
1:12:38giving to
1:12:40God I can't count the people as that I
1:12:43pass I can't teach a Sunday school class
1:12:45anymore I'm just overloaded I just got I
1:12:47just got too much on my plate I can't
1:12:48give to the Lord anymore listen to me it
1:12:50never turns out
1:12:54good there's a saying in the automobile
1:12:57industry and this is the saying when a
1:13:00car starts
1:13:02missing it's eventually going to
1:13:10quit do I have to finish the
1:13:12statement when people start missing
1:13:15Church they're eventually going to
1:13:18quit if they don't get somewhere in an
1:13:21altar and say I need my engine checked I
1:13:24got to check in light on somebody needs
1:13:26to find out what's going
1:13:29on all right next slide 17 hours a
1:13:35week 17 hours a week is figured like
1:13:39this five hours on Sunday you know why
1:13:41because I added the prayer
1:13:43room two hours on Tuesday night we have
1:13:47Wednesday night prayer so one hour on
1:13:50Wednesday night and then seven hours of
1:13:53personal
1:13:55that's reading your Bible and praying at
1:13:57home if you do a minimum of one hour at
1:14:00home one hour Wednesday night two hours
1:14:02on Tuesday 5 hours on
1:14:05Sunday 15 hours is then
1:14:09consumed with 24 hours as you're giving
1:14:13an offering goal you know what this are
1:14:16to reveal to you you can't afford to
1:14:18miss
1:14:22church that's right that's right if
1:14:25you're going to tithe on your time to
1:14:27God for him to bless
1:14:29it got be at the house of God yeah you
1:14:32know y'all not looking
1:14:36convinced but I'm telling you I'm not
1:14:38wrong about
1:14:40this if he required 24 hours a day to
1:14:44bless the other six
1:14:46days that was not abolished by the New
1:14:49Testament he came and fulfilled it
1:14:52that's why every day in the book of act
1:14:55they went to the temple to
1:14:59pray every day they were headed to the
1:15:02temple to
1:15:09pray if people
1:15:11only go to
1:15:14church if all they do is two services on
1:15:17Sunday and one service on
1:15:19Wednesday 3.6% of their time is spent in
1:15:23church Jes
1:15:32is that not shocking to
1:15:36you that's two hours on the first
1:15:38service on Sunday two hours on the
1:15:41second service on
1:15:42Sunday and two hours in a midweek
1:15:45service if that's all you
1:15:47do you don't have personal consecration
1:15:50you don't come to prayer meeting you're
1:15:52just doing the bare minimum of what the
1:15:55church requires you're at
1:15:583.6% of your
1:16:01week can I ask you what on
1:16:06Earth can you do and be successful at it
1:16:10if all you give is 4% to it
1:16:16right if all you're willing to give is
1:16:204% could you go to college with
1:16:234% couldn't do it could you work a a
1:16:27business at
1:16:294% it don't work for church
1:16:33either if you wonder why you're losing
1:16:36favor it may be that as God's blessed
1:16:39you and you've had more money to give
1:16:41that you felt like you didn't have to
1:16:42give as much
1:16:44[Music]
1:16:46time this is good
1:16:51this said brother C why in the world you
1:16:53bring that because I've been ping people
1:16:55for almost 30 years
1:16:58now and they want to do replacement
1:17:03theology hunting season is coming up I'm
1:17:06going to go to the camp I'll just write
1:17:08a $10,000 offering
1:17:10check I'll see y'all when hunting
1:17:12season's
1:17:15over you know God may take that
1:17:19camp to save your
1:17:21soul he may take that camp and when you
1:17:25do you'll say how did I lose favor how
1:17:27did I lose favor I've given to the
1:17:28church more than I've ever given to the
1:17:30church in
1:17:31money what's happened to your time
1:17:38right I'll be honest with you this ain't
1:17:40going over like I thought it was I
1:17:42thought you was going to get all excited
1:17:43about
1:17:52this I wonder how happy our parents
1:17:56would be with
1:17:57us if we only gave them 3.6% of our
1:18:02time I wonder how happy our spouse would
1:18:06be you see why I use those two
1:18:08illustrations because that's the two
1:18:08illustrations God uses he calls us his
1:18:11father and us his
1:18:14bride I wonder how good my marriage
1:18:16would be if she got
1:18:223.6% I wonder if I would still be her
1:18:28husband folks I'm telling you I'm so
1:18:31burdened by
1:18:33this and where did this come from this
1:18:35come from me asking God God what is the
1:18:38answer to maintaining your favor what's
1:18:41the answer to having your favor and you
1:18:43know what God spoke to
1:18:45me when I bless you don't quit coming
1:18:49around
1:18:52me don't start hunting and fishing and
1:18:55traveling and hunting camps and and and
1:18:59going to the Arctic on be hunts and all
1:19:00of a sudden you can't be found at the
1:19:02house of God
1:19:03anymore my God have mercy he said I'm
1:19:06going to tell you what My worry is My
1:19:07worry is is when I take you into that
1:19:09promised land and you're drinking out of
1:19:11Wells you didn't dig and you're sleeping
1:19:12in beds you didn't build and you're
1:19:14eating out of Vineyards you didn't plant
1:19:16that you'll forget the Lord your
1:19:20God and he said you'll point it bail and
1:19:23you'll say that's what brought me out
1:19:24out of Egypt and if we're not careful it
1:19:26won't be bail for us we'll point in our
1:19:28money our finances our riches and say
1:19:30that's what brought me out of
1:19:32[Music]
1:19:36Egypt and so I'm in an
1:19:39effort to make sure God gets a full 24
1:19:43hours of my
1:19:44week so good what does that look like
1:19:47I'm going to tell you it's easy it's
1:19:49easy to
1:19:51accomplish man all you got to do is go
1:19:53to the prayer room yeah
1:19:55make sure you don't miss that prayer
1:19:58room you know what that is that that's
1:20:00loging another hour if you do it on
1:20:02Wednesday night too or mid midweek
1:20:04service Tuesday night too that's an hour
1:20:05and a half you're
1:20:07logging that's another hour and a half
1:20:09that you can log to your
1:20:10week be there in
1:20:13service man I see people God starts
1:20:15blessing them they used to hang around
1:20:17and visit with everybody man when church
1:20:19was over they was walking
1:20:21around patting on people encouraging
1:20:24people
1:20:25you know did you know that's a Ministry
1:20:27in itself I'm done but did you know
1:20:29that's a Ministry in itself just you
1:20:31hanging around encouraging one another
1:20:33in the Lord that's what the Bible says
1:20:35the Bible says and everyone had an
1:20:37encouraging word for his brother and
1:20:39sister but you let somebody start
1:20:40getting a little
1:20:41money and when service up the minute you
1:20:44say Amen they're out that back
1:20:50door I'm telling you there's people that
1:20:52I say God I guess you going they going
1:20:53have to be broke again
1:20:55again I'm telling you after years of
1:20:57pastoring I've literally said that I
1:20:59said well God I guess you have to break
1:21:00them
1:21:02again cuz they so arrogant they can't
1:21:04talk to none of the rest of us now they
1:21:06got too much
1:21:07money we're all beneath them now they
1:21:10don't have time for us they got to go go
1:21:12home and get on the phone with their
1:21:13buddies that's got
1:21:16money come on listen I I don't know a
1:21:20thing about Memphis I'm talking about
1:21:21where I pastor
1:21:24okay but I did find out humanity is
1:21:27Humanity whether it's in Brazil or China
1:21:29or wherever it is it's All
1:21:33Flesh and I don't understand that I
1:21:36don't understand how all of a sudden
1:21:37they don't have an encouraging word for
1:21:39their brothers and
1:21:41sisters you know there's nothing that
1:21:44that that helps the young men that
1:21:46that's graduating from college and
1:21:47graduating high school in our churches
1:21:50like somebody that has made it somebody
1:21:54that God
1:21:55blessed they got a little something to
1:21:57show for to walk up to some of our kids
1:22:00and say man I love you man I want to be
1:22:02a mentor to
1:22:04you I want to tell you if I can do it
1:22:06you can do
1:22:08it God's going to bless you with a
1:22:10family and a a wife and kids and and
1:22:13he's going to bless your finances I'm
1:22:15just telling you you don't know what
1:22:16that means to some of our boys that
1:22:18sitting on the front row that you don't
1:22:20even know it they don't come up and tell
1:22:21you but they're they're watching you and
1:22:23they're admiring you
1:22:26and when they turn around they say man I
1:22:28I I'm going to talk to Brother David
1:22:29tonight I'm going to talk and they turn
1:22:31around you're gone get out of
1:22:34here I do believe that if you read that
1:22:39Bible all of a sudden when we when we
1:22:41start having dinners I notice the people
1:22:44that start missing the dinners are the
1:22:46ones that God's blessed the
1:22:48most all of a sudden they don't have
1:22:50time to come to potlucks anymore my God
1:22:54they start limiting their time at the
1:22:57house of God because they got bigger
1:22:58fish to
1:22:59fry there is no bigger
1:23:03fish than us having an encouraging word
1:23:05for our brothers and sisters and us
1:23:08getting together and and and you it's
1:23:10not all about me it's not all about you
1:23:13there's people that's hanging on your
1:23:14every word they're listening to you they
1:23:17what's wrong with you standing and
1:23:18talking about how God's blessed your
1:23:20business and how God can bless their
1:23:22business and giving them little secrets
1:23:25how to get their business going that was
1:23:27part of that new testament as they got
1:23:29together and they broke b bread together
1:23:32and they encourage one another in the
1:23:36Lord what happens when you spend when
1:23:39you spend five or six hours at church on
1:23:41Sunday you come early and you pray you
1:23:45stay late and you look around and you
1:23:46say to yourself God is there anybody in
1:23:48here I can encourag today is there
1:23:49anybody in here that's
1:23:50struggling I'm not just coming to church
1:23:52for me so I can get out that back back
1:23:54door cuz I got other things to do while
1:23:56I'm here is there anybody that I can
1:23:58give an encouraging word to is there a
1:24:00new convert that I can help you know
1:24:02what you're doing you're logging time in
1:24:04the kingdom of
1:24:06God and you say well my business hadn't
1:24:08got time for that I'm telling you it
1:24:10works the same as money if you want God
1:24:13to bless the rest of the
1:24:14week if you want God to make the other
1:24:17six the most productive then you figure
1:24:19out a way in that week to give him 24
1:24:21hours I'm telling you if you'll give him
1:24:23a tithe and an offering on your time he
1:24:26will B he'll make everything else in
1:24:29your work off world work like a well-
1:24:31olded
1:24:33[Applause]
1:24:36machine and so you if you pray in an
1:24:39hour a day I'm done with this but if you
1:24:41pray at an hour a day you're coming to
1:24:45church several hours a week you're
1:24:47coming early to the prayer room you're
1:24:48getting eight or 10 hours in at the
1:24:51house of God you've now got 177 hours of
1:24:54your personal prayer time your personal
1:24:57consecration personal Bible reading and
1:25:00time
1:25:01logged you've got 17 18 19 20 21 22 23
1:25:0624 you got seven hours left that's an
1:25:09hour a day you know what you need to do
1:25:13no matter how big your business is or
1:25:14how much money you make you need to find
1:25:17you a Bible study to
1:25:18teach or you need to start you a small
1:25:21group or you need to you you need to get
1:25:23in b Bible quizzing and donate some more
1:25:26time start you start you an outreach
1:25:28program get with someone something
1:25:30that's going on this church and say
1:25:32Pastor I need to consume about seven
1:25:34more hours of my time to the kingdom of
1:25:36God do you have an idea of what I can do
1:25:39because I want God to
1:25:42know that the first fruits of my time
1:25:44belong to
1:25:46him above everything
1:25:48else I want the first fruits of my time
1:25:51to belong to the Lord
1:25:54what is this this is
1:25:56alignment for God to bring favor into
1:25:59your life and into your
1:26:00world can we stand together as we close
1:26:03Jesus to
1:26:07Lord God I've given my heart tonight to
1:26:10these
1:26:12people everything that I
1:26:14have everything that I
1:26:17am God there's so much more I could have
1:26:19said so much more that I could have
1:26:21brought to them God and I it is my
1:26:23prayer that I brought them exactly what
1:26:25you wanted me to say it is my prayer
1:26:27that I brought to them exactly what you
1:26:29wanted me to give
1:26:31them I'm asking you in the name of Jesus
1:26:33to let this resonate in their
1:26:38Spirit god with joy let us draw Waters
1:26:42out of the wells of Salvation with joy
1:26:45God let us give what you've given us
1:26:48time is a gift finances are a gift God
1:26:52and let us gift back willingly of our
1:26:55time and our money and our effort to the
1:26:57kingdom of
1:26:58God in the precious name of Jesus I
1:27:01praise you I give you glory in the
1:27:04precious and honorable name of Jesus
1:27:06Christ I want to close this by giving it
1:27:08back to you Pastor if there's anything
1:27:10I've said or taught that runs counter
1:27:14crosswise with what he teaches then you
1:27:16stick with him but thank you for
1:27:18listening to me and hearing my heart
1:27:19tonight God bless

1:27:24church say
1:27:27Amen well uh you can be seated
1:27:29momentarily uh I just want to say a
1:27:32couple things uh this was good tonight
1:27:36now I've been in church now I'm 47 years
1:27:39old and I grew up uh in the church I
1:27:42have never
1:27:43heard this concept of given time like it
1:27:48was said tonight uh this is a new thing
1:27:52for me to hear but I tell you what I
1:27:53believe this is right and I tell you
1:27:56what I I'll tell you what the script the
1:27:59one thing God said in his word to just
1:28:03try
1:28:04me was in the concept of tithes and
1:28:08offerings so before we knock this we are
1:28:11try it and I don't how you do it but get
1:28:15a note going in your phone find a way to
1:28:17track your time a little bit and just
1:28:19see what we're doing and why don't we
1:28:21take these next 90 days
1:28:24and let's give God a time of of tithe of
1:28:28our time and just see what
1:28:30happens and I suspect we'll look back
1:28:33and say you know what it wasn't
1:28:35wasted and it may be just what
1:28:39unleashes something to take us to the
1:28:41next level yes sir
1:28:46amen I feel a witness I'll tell you what
1:28:49he was stepping on
1:28:51toes all night long
1:28:54but I'm just make it plain if he stepped
1:28:56on your toes move your feet your Feet's
1:28:59in the wrong place and and this is uh
1:29:02this is right tonight thank you brother
1:29:04copen for being God's man and this was
1:29:07this was good and right and I think we
1:29:09just got to say Amen to it brother Haley
1:29:12come wrap us up
1:29:15tonight well I'm I'm moving my feet so
1:29:19I'm going to I don't know if I need to
1:29:20stand still or not but wow that was so
1:29:24incredible and I think this was just a
1:29:26an amazing way to kind of cap off this
1:29:30uh this series uh focusing on season of
1:29:34increase because I don't know about you
1:29:35but I want to if if we've got a promise
1:29:38for increase I don't want my pet peeve
1:29:42or my my little issue or my little
1:29:44hangup to keep me back from everything
1:29:46God is wanting to do in me and through
1:29:49me and so I want to say Amen in my
1:29:52spirit and I thank you brother copelan
1:29:54for for that and so um to help you on
1:29:58your journey uh we're going to give you
1:30:00uh we're going to do a couple giveaways
1:30:01of these books because that's one way
1:30:02you can invest in yourself as well is uh
1:30:05is
1:30:05reading and so uh on my left on the uh
1:30:09on my left side in the middle section

1:30:34Lapin about the blessing of God and it
1:30:36talks about it from a Jewish perspective
1:30:38but uh I believe that it applies to us
1:30:40today and it's a very very very good
1:30:42book uh on the right side middle section
1:30:45third row second seat one two three I
1:30:48believe it' be you sister witty I have
1:30:50another book it's uh 3 feet from gold we
1:30:53gave this way again but it uh previously
1:30:55but it's so good I want to give it away
1:30:57again about pres um
1:30:59perseverance and uh never giving up uh
1:31:02short of the gold and I'm going to
1:31:04that's going to be a good one and I
1:31:05going to give a bonus on the left
1:31:07section over here far left or over here
1:31:10uh third row from the back first seat so
1:31:13one two three well that's I think y'all
1:31:17will be the closest uh brother Daniel
1:31:19and brother uh Matt so y'all gonna have
1:31:21to fight it out we'll we'll y'all come
1:31:22up here and we'll see who gets up here
1:31:24first maybe but uh we're going to give
1:31:26away this book the richest man in
1:31:27Babylon it talks about the Five Laws of
1:31:29gold this is about just basic principles
1:31:32about Building Wealth and um and it's a
1:31:35it's a very very good book as well so
