Perfect Mage Rotations Explained in 12 Minutes — Transcript

- 0:00Be honest, are you really [music] still
- 0:01struggling to rank up in 2026 when one
- 0:04coaching session can completely flip
- 0:06your gameplay? Well, my name is Zex. I'm
- 0:08a former top 13 an ECT EXP laner [music]
- 0:11and I'm backed by coach Ken, a
- 0:13professional team coach from the
- 0:14Philippines. Together, we don't guess,
- 0:17we break down the game properly. [music]
- 0:19Bad macro, losing lanes you should win,
- 0:21not knowing when to rotate, freeze, or
- 0:23[music] force fights, that's the stuff
- 0:25that's keeping players hard stuck. We
- 0:27teach matchups, lane control, rotations,
- 0:30leave timing, win conditions, and
- 0:31itemization and more. Real fundamentals
- 0:34that are actually used in pro play, not
- 0:36something [music] you can find in some
- 0:37general YouTube guide. So, instead of
- 0:40grinding and hoping, you understand why
- 0:42you're actually winning. [music]
- 0:43Stop struggling, book a session, start
- 0:46climbing.
- 1:13Mages are one of the most criminally
- 1:15misunderstood roles in this game. Now,
- 1:17even though I'm a little bit sick, I'm
- 1:19going to be explaining to you guys how
- 1:20to rotate properly on mages and how to
- 1:22get full value. Now, if you guys want
- 1:24bonus MLBB diamonds, make sure to go to
- 1:26my link in the description down below to
- 1:28Loop Bar. You can get up to 40%
- 1:30discounts and if you want me to coach
- 1:31you on any lane in this game, go to my
- 1:33Discord server. And like I said, I
- 1:35apologize for my voice, but in this
- 1:37video, I'm going to show you how to
- 1:38rotate and play against a losing
- 1:40matchup. Now, Kimmy is obviously a
- 1:42stronger and more oppressive mid laner.
- 1:44Thing is though, [music] this Kimmy
- 1:45doesn't really know how to zone on
- 1:47Kimmy, thankfully, but I'll show you
- 1:49guys how you can out rotate the enemy
- 1:51mage or the enemy mage and roam duo and
- 1:54have more value on the map. So, of
- 1:56course, because we are weaker at level
- 1:58one, we're going to play slow. My only
- 2:00objective here is to try and vision the
- 2:01lethal for my jungler, even though he's
- 2:03not going to contest it, just so he
- 2:05knows when the enemy's going to go. And
- 2:06you can [music] see, I managed to even
- 2:08steal this lethal from the enemy
- 2:09jungler, which is a huge bonus for us.
- 2:16Honestly, you don't need to poke out the
- 2:17enemy mage or the enemy roamer unless if
- 2:20they're out of position like this.
- 2:27Well, even though we didn't get the kill
- 2:28on the Kimmy, we did manage to get that
- 2:30kill onto the Angela and this is already
- 2:31a really big advantage for us. Matilda
- 2:34has very strong poke with her level one
- 2:35in early game and a lot of people don't
- 2:37use that properly. Of course, Hikari
- 2:39does know how to use that well and I can
- 2:40also use that on top of my pretty decent
- 2:42burst damage in early game to poke
- 2:44enemies out really hard. So, you can
- 2:46see, we rotate together as well to top
- 2:48lane after this to try and ambush this
- 2:50Thamuz.
- 3:01And because we took that lethal earlier,
- 3:03we were able to get our level four from
- 3:05that minion that was on EXP lane and
- 3:07just like that, we're also able to get a
- 3:09kill onto this Thamuz. So, we have 100%
- 3:11team fight participation currently.
- 3:13We've managed to secure two really good
- 3:15pickoffs in early game and now we are
- 3:17scaling very well. Not every game will
- 3:19go this way, but this is a great game to
- 3:21show you an example of just how much
- 3:23impact mages can have [clears throat] in
- 3:25early game.
- 3:51Now, while you might not think these
- 3:52kills are significant to any real
- 3:54degree, these three extra kills that we
- 3:56got delayed their Angela getting level
- 3:58four and you can see that not only did
- 4:00we pressure Thamuz into creating a
- 4:02winning matchup, we also pressured bot
- 4:04lane and created a winning matchup as
- 4:06well. So, as long as you're pressuring
- 4:08both lanes, even if you're not getting
- 4:10kills, if you're forcing the enemy to
- 4:11use spells, if you're forcing the enemy
- 4:13to have to recall, don't mind that
- 4:16second skill, but if you're forcing the
- 4:17enemy to have to do these kind of
- 4:19things, then you're already doing a good
- 4:20job because of course, the Kimmy isn't
- 4:22doing that to our Bruno and the Kimmy
- 4:24isn't doing that to our Ruby. So,
- 4:26because of that factor alone, you can
- 4:28see we're creating an advantage. Of
- 4:30course, again, earlier Thamuz had to use
- 4:32vengeance against us and because he did,
- 4:34he didn't have vengeance on lane there,
- 4:36so Gusion was able to easily kill him.
- 4:38Again, like I said, forcing spells,
- 4:40forcing skills, all of this plays a
- 4:42role. Now, this is a great job by our
- 4:44Matilda here to confirm this kill onto
- 4:46Lancelot. Like I said, Matilda has a lot
- 4:48of damage with her skill one and people
- 4:50underestimate it greatly, especially
- 4:52when she's ahead. You can see the enemy
- 4:53roamer is not even level four yet and
- 4:55our Matilda's almost level six. So, you
- 4:57can see how much impact you can have
- 4:59with the roamer in increasing your
- 5:01roamer scaling as well because of the
- 5:03assists and kills that you're helping
- 5:04them get.
- 5:11As you can see, it's really not that
- 5:12hard to rotate. You find yourself a
- 5:14roamer who knows how to rotate with you
- 5:16and you're going to be having a good
- 5:17time. So, instead of [music] playing
- 5:18solo queue, I just recommend going into
- 5:20a duo queue with a roamer who knows how
- 5:21to play this way to fast clear, rotate
- 5:23around the map, put pressure on the
- 5:25enemy, and you guys are going to be
- 5:26having a good time. I mean, I have
- 5:28literally almost every single kill
- 5:30participation in this game, seven out of
- 5:32the eight, and that is because Matilda
- 5:35helped me confirm a lot of those kills
- 5:37and rotated with me, but also because of
- 5:39the pressure that I was able to apply
- 5:40not just with the roamer, but just with
- 5:42macro in general.
- 5:56Honestly, the main thing you need to ask
- 5:57yourself is, am I doing anything right
- 6:00now? If I'm just sitting in mid lane, is
- 6:02there a reason why I'm just sitting in
- 6:03mid lane? If there isn't, there's
- 6:05probably something else you can be doing
- 6:07on the map that is more impactful. For
- 6:09example, I could have just sat in mid
- 6:11here or attacked the lethal, but of
- 6:12course, it's better for me to be on top
- 6:14lane here and put enough pressure onto
- 6:16this Thamuz that we potentially kill
- 6:17him. And of course, even though my team
- 6:19probably would have killed him without
- 6:20me, the extra assist never hurts, right?
- 6:23And you can see, I'm not missing my
- 6:25minions in mid lane either. I'm still
- 6:26back in time to clear them. So, [music]
- 6:28my point is is if you want to rotate,
- 6:30there's always a good way that you can
- 6:32rotate. In general, if you have a
- 6:34roamer, it's easier to because they will
- 6:36help you fast clear, they will help you
- 6:37rotate the way that a Matilda can help
- 6:39me in this game, right? But overall,
- 6:41like I said, if you can't, then of
- 6:43course, just stay in mid and protect
- 6:44your turret. In a losing game, stay in
- 6:46mid and protect your turret. Mid turret
- 6:48is the most important turret in the
- 6:49game. Too many people give it up for
- 6:51absolutely no reason and then they
- 6:52wonder why after they lost their mid
- 6:54their mid turret, sorry, they started
- 6:56losing. Think about it this way, the
- 6:58second mid turret drops,
- 7:00all of your jungle gets opened, your
- 7:01jungle is easier to invade, you have
- 7:03less space to move around on the map.
- 7:05So, with all these things in mind, stop
- 7:07losing your mid turret, please.
- 8:34Also, just know that I'm an EXP and
- 8:36jungle main. I barely play mid, I barely
- 8:38play marksman, I barely play roam. So,
- 8:41obviously, I'm not going to be playing
- 8:43perfect. Some of my micro won't be
- 8:44there, but for the most part, you can
- 8:46see how easy it is for me to get value,
- 8:48right? Even if I'm missing some skills,
- 8:50even if I'm not playing at a perfect
- 8:52level, that is simply because my micro
- 8:54is not there from not playing the heroes
- 8:56enough. On the other hand though, you
- 8:57can see how easy it is for me to get
- 8:59value by just applying macro general
- 9:01tips of knowing how to rotate, who to
- 9:03pressure, etc.
- 9:40Overall, like I said, all of this that
- 9:42you're seeing right now, you might think
- 9:44that the enemy is bad, but to be honest,
- 9:46if I was playing mage on the enemy's
- 9:48team and their mage was playing on my
- 9:50team and he was rotating with my Matilda
- 9:52the way that I was, I would have been
- 9:53losing in the exact same way. It is
- 9:56simply macro. You need to have the macro
- 9:58to abuse these kind of things in game.
- 10:01If you don't have the macro, you won't
- 10:03be winning games. So, stop making
- 10:04mistakes of not using enough macro in
- 10:07your matches and start using macro.
- 10:09Honestly, if you don't know mage macro,
- 10:12the basic gist of it is pretty simple.
- 10:14If you can rotate and apply pressure
- 10:16somewhere, do it. If you can apply
- 10:18pressure to the enemy jungler, do it
- 10:19with your team. If you can apply
- 10:21pressure to the enemy gold laner, do it
- 10:23with your team. If none of this is
- 10:25possible because you have [music] to
- 10:27perma clear mid, your teammates are not
- 10:29helping you to clear mid, these kind of
- 10:30things, your main job is to defend your
- 10:32mid turret and be there present for team
- 10:35fights. That's it, right? If I have to
- 10:37clear my mid turret and I have to miss
- 10:39out on a team fight, it is my team's
- 10:41fault for taking that fight when I had
- 10:42to clear mid, not your fault for not
- 10:44being there. [music] I hope that makes
- 10:46sense. Overall, be present at
- 10:48objectives, be present in team fights,
- 10:50and just defend your turret. That's the
- 10:51basic macro of mid lane. Everything
- 10:53else, like rotating, all of that is a
- 10:55bonus. If it's possible, it's possible.
- 10:57If it's not, it's not.
- 11:08One of the main reasons why I like
- 11:09longer range mages such as Faramis or
- 11:12Xavier is because you can be very
- 11:13impressive from a very far distance. I
- 11:15never have to get too close to this
- 11:17enemy here to do anything. I can keep
- 11:19harassing them continuously for free
- 11:21from a distance and I never have to
- 11:23worry about them closing the gap because
- 11:24I have a Matilda, I have my flicker, and
- 11:27I have a lot of movement speed with my
- 11:28passive. Anytime Thamuz tries to get
- 11:30near me, he loses half of his HP, sorry,
- 11:32because of the gap that I have. So, with
- 11:35that in mind, you can see I always keep
- 11:36my distance. I always play far enough
- 11:38back to where the enemy [music] really
- 11:39can't do anything to me and we're always
- 11:41having a good time.
- 12:19Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this
- 12:20video. Please leave a like and subscribe
- 12:22down below if you are new. I again
- 12:24apologize for being sick, but you know,
- 12:26we got to get some content out for
- 12:28y'all, so, you know, I hope you guys
- 12:30appreciate it.
- 12:31But, yeah, anyways, I'll catch you guys
- 12:33in the next one.
