  3. 0:16away planet
  4. 0:18i came to earth to meet you and tell you
  5. 0:21about my space adventures
  6. 0:23are you ready to explore your solar
  7. 0:26system
  8. 0:27oh i love looking at stars no wonder so
  9. 0:30many of you enjoy it but wouldn't it be
  10. 0:33better to look at things from space
  11. 0:35[Music]
  12. 0:37come on let's go
  13. 0:39this is your planet earth
  14. 0:43can you see half of it is bright while
  15. 0:45half is dark
  16. 0:47the earth is spinning
  17. 0:49the half of the earth that is facing the
  18. 0:52sun is lit up so you have daytime there
  19. 0:55whilst the half facing away from the sun
  20. 0:58is dark so you are in night time
  21. 1:01it takes 24 hours for the earth to make
  22. 1:03a full spin a whole day
  23. 1:07look there's the moon looping around or
  24. 1:09as we say orbiting around the earth
  25. 1:12did you know that the earth orbits
  26. 1:14around the sun while it spins
  27. 1:17the earth and the moon always stay
  28. 1:19together
  29. 1:20it takes one year for the earth to make
  30. 1:22a full loop
  31. 1:23let's first go closer to the sun but not
  32. 1:26too close i don't want to burn my
  33. 1:28antennae again
  34. 1:30for you
  35. 1:32the sun is our star
  36. 1:34it is very hot and it gives us light and
  37. 1:37warmth

  39. 1:39earth is not alone
  40. 1:41it is just one of eight planets that
  41. 1:44orbit the sun
  42. 1:45let's have a look at them

  44. 1:48the four small rocky planets closest to
  45. 1:51the sun
  46. 1:52are mercury
  47. 1:54venus
  48. 1:55earth and mars
  49. 1:58mercury is very close to the sun and it
  50. 2:00is the smallest planet of the solar
  51. 2:02system
  52. 2:04venus is very hot it has a thick and
  53. 2:07dense air poisonous to humans
  54. 2:10i better keep my helmet tight since this
  55. 2:13air is poisonous for me too
  56. 2:17we've already seen earth your home
  57. 2:19planet
  58. 2:20it is very special you know
  59. 2:22it is the only planet in the solar
  60. 2:24system covered with liquid water rivers
  61. 2:27lakes and oceans
  62. 2:30i'm the only one to host life as we know
  63. 2:32it
  64. 2:33mars is covered in rusty dust
  65. 2:36giving it a ready orange color that's
  66. 2:38why people call it the red planet
  67. 2:41maybe there was water here too a long
  68. 2:43time ago
  69. 2:45look over there after mars there are
  70. 2:48lots of smaller bits of rock
  71. 2:50these are called asteroids and there are
  72. 2:53millions of them
  73. 2:55they form the asteroid belt and they
  74. 2:58orbit the sun too
  75. 3:00further away from the sun there are four
  76. 3:02truly huge planets
  77. 3:04much much bigger than the earth
  78. 3:07there are jupiter and saturn the gas
  79. 3:10giant and uranus and neptune the icy
  80. 3:13giants
  81. 3:15here comes jupiter the biggest plan is
  82. 3:17in your solar system it is so nice with
  83. 3:20its colorful stripes of gas isn't it
  84. 3:24the great red spot you see is a swirling
  85. 3:27storm that could fit two earths inside
  86. 3:30it
  87. 3:31do you know that many planets have their
  88. 3:33own moons just like the earth well
  89. 3:36jupiter has more than 60 of them
  90. 3:39and look at saturn with their
  91. 3:41spectacular rings
  92. 3:43they're made of billions of tiny pieces
  93. 3:45of ice rocks and dust
  94. 3:49uranus and then neptune are really cold
  95. 3:52and stormy
  96. 3:53so i wouldn't like to go there on my
  97. 3:55holiday
  98. 3:56now we have seen all of the planets in
  99. 3:59your solar system and some asteroids
  100. 4:02what shall we do next are you curious to
  101. 4:05see more
  102. 4:06then let's travel even further away from
  103. 4:09the sun
  104. 4:11it's really cold and dark out here
  105. 4:14hey that's bluetooth a dwarf planet
  106. 4:20wow what are those dark objects they
  107. 4:22look like giant dirty snowballs
  108. 4:26wait one of them is coming towards us
  109. 4:32now i see
  110. 4:34this is a comet
  111. 4:36it is made from rock and ice it
  112. 4:38resembles the asteroids we saw before
  113. 4:41but let me tell you it is very different
  114. 4:44this one is heading in towards the sun
  115. 4:47next time we'll follow on together to
  116. 4:50see what happens
  117. 4:51so that's the solar system
  118. 4:54one star the sun
  119. 4:56eight planets
  120. 4:58over a hundred moons
  121. 5:00and millions of asteroids and comets
  122. 5:04what an exciting place
