- 0:00LADIES, GENTLEMEN, AND PALS OF ALL AGES,
- 0:02THERE ARE A TON OF different parts of
- 0:04making powerful pals in Poworld. And one
- 0:06of the deepest systems that's involved
- 0:08in that are the passive skills. There
- 0:10are over 100 passive skills in this
- 0:12game. And with that, it can be a tad
- 0:13hard to know which ones are good or bad.
- 0:16Outside of the fact that some of them
- 0:17are red with down arrows, and some of
- 0:19them are friendlier colors with up
- 0:20arrows of varying degrees. But each
- 0:22passive has its own effect, and the
- 0:23passives sometimes stack in very
- 0:25interesting ways. So today, let's
- 0:26essentially go over the best passives in
- 0:28Power World of each type depending on
- 0:30what you actually want your PAL to be.
- 0:32And these things have changed quite a
- 0:34bit since 1.0. This was a PAL before
- 0:351.0. It can get much better than that
- 0:38now. So we'll talk about what the best
- 0:39passives are, some examples of how you
- 0:41might set them up together as a grouping
- 0:42of four. And then as a bit of a bonus
- 0:44before we talk about the passive
- 0:45themselves, I do want to do a quick
- 0:47section about how to get really good
- 0:49passives in this game guaranteed.
- 0:51Because the old way, the way that most
- 0:53people assume is correct would be
- 0:55breeding. And for many passives, the
- 0:57only way to get them is as a result of
- 0:58either breeding for them or just having
- 1:00it show up through RNG, through like
- 1:02catching them or something like that in
- 1:04the wild, if it happens to have it. But
- 1:05there are a number of ways to forcibly
- 1:07get and apply passive skills to pals
- 1:09that can make you much stronger than you
- 1:11might realize you can be as soon as you
- 1:12hit level 38 and above. This list right
- 1:14here is only the default ones. There are
- 1:16much more than you can do this with. As
- 1:17a result, because this will affect
- 1:19people earlier than full minmax passive
- 1:20talk will, let's talk about it at the
- 1:22start before the actual passes
- 1:23themselves. And the main crux of it is
- 1:25this item here, the PAL surgery table.
- 1:27One of its two functions is that it lets
- 1:29you manually apply any passive skill to
- 1:31a PAL that you have an implant for. It
- 1:34will only choose from the available
- 1:35things that you have. And a lot of these
- 1:37are permanent. They are things that you
- 1:38can use an infinite amount of times once
- 1:40you've unlocked them. But there are also
- 1:42endgame implants that are one use each.
- 1:44That said, by default, these are the
- 1:45ones that are listed as options for you
- 1:47to do as early as level 38 when you
- 1:49unlock the table. These will cost 10,000
- 1:51gold for the the white ones and it costs
- 1:53a little bit more for the yellow ones.
- 1:54But the point is that it's relatively
- 1:56cheap if you have any method of gold
- 1:58farming online. And you can do this to
- 2:00give you just a lot of bonuses to your
- 2:02pals that are very good early in the
- 2:04game. For example, some of the stuff
- 2:05where it's most relevant. Brave is 10%
- 2:07attack boost with no downsides.
- 2:09Ferocious is 20% attacks boost with no
- 2:12downside. Hard skin is defense boost
- 2:14with no downside. Uh, nimble is move
- 2:17speed, which is generally good for mount
- 2:18pals and for some base workers as well.
- 2:21Sleek stroke is a swimming pal specific
- 2:23one, but it is a 30% increase in
- 2:25swimming speed. Impatient is another
- 2:27really good one here. This reduces
- 2:29cooldowns of your active skills.
- 2:31Generally, a lot of the damage that a
- 2:33PAL will apply is from its actual active
- 2:35skills. So, the more frequently it can
- 2:36cast them, the better. Then, we also
- 2:38have diet lover, which is an decrease to
- 2:40hunger depletion rate. Workaholic, which
- 2:42is a decrease to sand depletion rate.
- 2:44And there's also things like Sirius and
- 2:46Works Slave, which are both work speed
- 2:48increases, though works slave does have
- 2:49an attack speed decrease. This means for
- 2:51base pals, you can actually apply four
- 2:53relatively good base worker related
- 2:56skills very easily, very simply the
- 2:58second you unlock this table as long as
- 3:00you have some gold. Speaking of which,
- 3:01on the concept of base pals, insomnia is
- 3:04one that makes pals not sleep at night
- 3:05and continue to work instead. This is
- 3:08again another relevant one for base
- 3:09worker pals and it's actually one that
- 3:11is generally relevant on even the best
- 3:12base worker pals unless they are a
- 3:14species that naturally has this effect
- 3:15as there are species that are just are
- 3:17naturally nocturnal. That said, there's
- 3:19also mercy hit here which is listed as a
- 3:21negative passive, but this can actually
- 3:23be quite good for specifically capturing
- 3:25pals if you do not want to kill them by
- 3:27being too overpowered. You can put this
- 3:29onto a whole squad of pals and then use
- 3:31them to specifically capture pals and
- 3:33not kill them. and you can use this to
- 3:35do it purposefully on a pal of your
- 3:37choosing instead of being beholden to
- 3:39RNG. There's also philanthropist, which
- 3:41is a breeding related passive. This has
- 3:43some very specific uses that I'll get to
- 3:45when I talk about breeding focused
- 3:46passives, but essentially this speeds up
- 3:48the breeding of any pal that has the pal
- 3:50the passive actively. So, for any reason
- 3:52that you might want to mass breed the
- 3:53same pal, but you don't care about the
- 3:55passives that it has, this is fantastic
- 3:57to use. And you can put it on pals
- 3:59purposefully from the moment you get the
- 4:00surgery table at level 38 for nothing
- 4:02but gold. That said, this is simply the
- 4:05basics of the system. Those are the
- 4:06implants available by default and
- 4:08available for infinite use. But there
- 4:09are more implants that you can get that
- 4:11let you purposefully control even
- 4:13stronger passives. The first two places
- 4:15to discuss for these then are the bounty
- 4:17token vendors. Bounty token vendors will
- 4:19have multiple permanent implants in
- 4:21their stock. The three here that you
- 4:22will have unlocked at the very start are
- 4:24going to be muscle head, which is a
- 4:26solid attack boosting passive, burly
- 4:27body, which is a solid defense boosting
- 4:30passive, and then artisan, which is a
- 4:32very solid workspe boosting passive. So,
- 4:34you can see these three passives, even
- 4:36by themselves, are things that you can
- 4:37use to start to apply to combat and base
- 4:39workers very early on for some B for
- 4:41some bounty tokens. But there's also
- 4:43some very useful ones in here like
- 4:44vanguard, which increases the player's
- 4:46attack if this passive is on a PAL.
- 4:49Stronghold strategist, which is the same
- 4:50thing but for player defense. There's
- 4:52motivational leader to increase the
- 4:54effectiveness of other base workers as
- 4:56well as wellness watcher to decrease
- 4:57their sanity loss too. So there are some
- 4:59various ways of affecting both combat
- 5:01for the player or the pal and base
- 5:03workers for the pal itself or for other
- 5:05pals. And this is an extra set of
- 5:07implants that you can get that are all
- 5:09permanent. So once you unlock it, you
- 5:11can apply it to as many pals as you want
- 5:13for a simple gold cost. The other place
- 5:15of note is the arena, which is here on
- 5:17your map, southeast of the large desert
- 5:19biome. And you can earn battle tickets
- 5:21for this from fighting arena battles in
- 5:23this arena. These tickets can then be
- 5:24exchanged at the merchant who is right
- 5:26outside of the arena. And the items in
- 5:28his stock, or at least some of them, are
- 5:29permanent use implants once you have
- 5:31them purchased. The implants he has are
- 5:33quite good. They are things like
- 5:34serenity, which is genuinely an
- 5:36incredible passive. It is one of the
- 5:38meta combat pal passives. This is a mix
- 5:40of bonus attack and high cooldown
- 5:42reduction, which means for any pal that
- 5:43you would want to have constantly active
- 5:45in your party, it is fantastic. The
- 5:46other ones available through this vendor
- 5:48here, the arena vendor, are infinite
- 5:50stamina and runner, ace swimmer for
- 5:53faster swim speed, noble for better
- 5:55selling while you have the pal with you,
- 5:57healing coach for better auto
- 5:58regeneration rate, and reload master,
- 6:00which is faster reload speed for the
- 6:02player if a PAL has this on. Sort of
- 6:05like Vanguard and Stronghold Strategist
- 6:06that we just talked about, but this one
- 6:08for reload specifically. And these cost
- 6:1050 battle tickets each, which is not
- 6:12crazy once you're into the mid game. And
- 6:13specifically, especially Serenity. I
- 6:16cannot express how much you should get
- 6:18this as soon as you can and start just
- 6:19putting it on any PAL you plan to use in
- 6:21combat because until you reach like
- 6:23proper endgame, this will be in every
- 6:25relevant PAL build. And even then, it
- 6:27still will be in most relevant endgame
- 6:29PAL builds, too. Beyond that, we move
- 6:31into one-time use surgery implants,
- 6:33which are generally reserved for
- 6:34legendary passives or even greater with
- 6:36the new two new categories of passives
- 6:37that have been added in 1.0. And this
- 6:39chest that I have here just has the full
- 6:40list of the consumable disposable
- 6:42implants that you can find. The ones
- 6:43that are only one use at a time and then
- 6:46you have to find more. The main way that
- 6:47you can get these consumable implants is
- 6:49through the ancient relic recycler and
- 6:51recycling the relics that you get in the
- 6:53world tree or from the world tree
- 6:54specific expedition. It can give those
- 6:56as well. And one of the rewards from
- 6:57recycling them are these consumable
- 6:58implants. As the name implies, using the
- 7:01implant will remove one copy of this
- 7:03item from your inventory. So these are
- 7:05limited use, but they contain a very
- 7:08wide variety of very powerful skills.
- 7:10This includes not only a large number of
- 7:12the normal legendary passive pool, which
- 7:14you can see here with King of the Waves,
- 7:16Mastery of Fasting, Diamond Body, Heart
- 7:19of the Immovable King, Remarkable
- 7:21Craftsmanship, Vampiric, Eternal Engine
- 7:24down here, as well as Demon God, and
- 7:27also Swift. Most of these are very solid
- 7:30passives for one reason or another. Then
- 7:32we have two other tiers of passive that
- 7:34can also have implants created in this
- 7:36method being these five here which are
- 7:38the passives that otherwise can only be
- 7:39found from pals from mutated eggs
- 7:41specifically. So this is big for
- 7:43controlling these unique passives such
- 7:44as babysitter which we'll explain in a
- 7:46bit and is actually not as good as it
- 7:48may seem but also idiosyncratic which
- 7:50we'll talk about immortality which we'll
- 7:52talk about sky marcher which we'll talk
- 7:54about and then heavily armored which has
- 7:56its own potential uses but isn't
- 7:57generally that sought after. It's just
- 7:59immunity to explosions specifically.
- 8:01That said, quite a few of these are
- 8:03incredibly potent passives. The other
- 8:05grouping that I have split off at the
- 8:06top here, this one is special as well
- 8:07because these are the world tree
- 8:09passives specifically, meaning the only
- 8:10way to find these normally is on special
- 8:12pals that spawn in the world tree region
- 8:14specifically. So, it is quite an RNG
- 8:16thing to get them otherwise. Through
- 8:18relic recycling though, you can get
- 8:20consumable implants for all seven of the
- 8:22world tree passives being sanctified
- 8:24meat shield from the sacred flesh
- 8:26implant, world tree seedbed from the
- 8:28world trees bounty implant, hermit sage
- 8:30from the hermit implant, dimensional
- 8:32leap, god of destruction, demonic grasp
- 8:35for the demon's hand passive, and twined
- 8:38holy blade passive from the double-edged
- 8:40holy sword implant. This is a grouping
- 8:42that contains some of the strongest
- 8:44passives in the game. So being able to
- 8:46forcibly apply this if you find the
- 8:48implant is extremely good. One more
- 8:50thing to mention here with these
- 8:51implants is that three of these
- 8:53consumable implants you can get a single
- 8:55one of from the hack terminal ancient
- 8:57rune activities on sunreach
- 8:59specifically. There is an implant for
- 9:01heart of the immovable king right here.
- 9:03There's an implant for mastery of
- 9:05fasting located here. And then there is
- 9:08an implant for swift located here which
- 9:10is one of those ones that is really good
- 9:12for mount pals. So, that's one that's
- 9:13probably going to be the most relevant
- 9:14to you at the time where you can get it
- 9:16for free just by going to the hack
- 9:18terminal. Outside of implants, the other
- 9:20ways to control passives are through
- 9:21breeding, of course, which you probably
- 9:22already know about, but a special
- 9:23mention here to the special cake. This
- 9:25is the level 74 unlock cake, but these
- 9:28all but guarantee you will pass four
- 9:30passives down from the parents onto the
- 9:31child, which of course of just great for
- 9:34getting rid of a lot of the RNG from
- 9:36getting passives through breeding.
- 9:37Otherwise, there is also Yakumo, who is
- 9:39worth discussing as his partner skill.
- 9:40Means that when you fight with him, he
- 9:42has a chance to make any pal that you
- 9:44capture have one or more of the passive
- 9:46that he has. The unfortunate part of
- 9:48this though is that a lot of the
- 9:49properly good passives now simply do not
- 9:52work with this pal's partner skill. It
- 9:54does not work with legend from the
- 9:55legendary pals. It does not work with
- 9:57the lucky passive, which is exclusive to
- 9:59lucky pals. And it also doesn't work
- 10:00with any of the world tree passives or
- 10:03the mutation specific passives either.
- 10:05He cannot pass on idiosyncratic despite
- 10:07the fact that he can have idiosyncratic
- 10:10as well. Any of these species specific
- 10:12element damage boosting passives and the
- 10:14fishing specific passives which are
- 10:15lunker and whopper, those cannot pass
- 10:17down through this pal. So, Yakumo is
- 10:19actually quite limited in what it can do
- 10:21in 1.0 for the actual powerful stuff.
- 10:23But there is still some value to a
- 10:24Yakimo that create some parents with
- 10:26some of the passes that you might want.
- 10:28Like Vanguard is a thing that could pass
- 10:30down and some of your pals might want to
- 10:31have this. philanthropist, there are
- 10:33some reasons that you might want this
- 10:34and it can be passed down through Yikumo
- 10:36as well. So, it's still worth mentioning
- 10:37regardless of the limitations with it.
- 10:39All that stuff covered then, let's move
- 10:40on to what the best passives are if you
- 10:42could choose from literally any of them
- 10:43in the game. And we'll start with combat
- 10:45related passives as there are a lot more
- 10:46that are relevant for that specifically.
- 10:48Starting off then, legend is one that
- 10:50can only be gained by finding a
- 10:52legendary pal or having it passed down
- 10:55through breeding from a legendary pal.
- 10:57This now makes it one of the harder ones
- 10:59to actually apply in the endgame when
- 11:00you can apply so many other strong
- 11:02passives at will with implants. Legend
- 11:04is a nice hefty increase of 20% to
- 11:07attack, defense, and movement speed all
- 11:10together in one singular passive. This
- 11:11makes it one of the most generally good
- 11:13combat passives as it covers multiple
- 11:15different aspects of combat, not just
- 11:17offense, not just defense. And movement
- 11:19speed can help them dodge some attacks,
- 11:20too. Because of the way that the endgame
- 11:22now works, most of the passes that I'll
- 11:24be talking about today are actually
- 11:25forcibly acquirable on your pals so you
- 11:27can put them manually onto pals if you
- 11:29get the right items. So legend not being
- 11:31able to be passed down in that way is
- 11:33definitely a bit of a tough hurdle. Now
- 11:35the way to pass it down again is to
- 11:36simply catch a legendary PAL and then
- 11:38brechain it down to the species you
- 11:39want. Next up, let's talk about top tier
- 11:41elemental skills. There is a version of
- 11:43these for each of the elements and they
- 11:45are tied to a specific PAL species that
- 11:47they spawn on. So, like legend, they are
- 11:49guaranteed to be gotten when you catch
- 11:51the right species, but also like legend,
- 11:52they are not acquirable as implants. So,
- 11:54you have to pass them down through
- 11:56breeding chains. These are things like
- 11:58ice emperor on frost stallion for 30%
- 12:00ice damage increase or something like
- 12:02celestial emperor on palladius, which is
- 12:04the neutral type version of this move.
- 12:05And there are various versions of this.
- 12:07Even the raid bosses have these too, but
- 12:09they can affect multiple damage types,
- 12:10too. So, those are great, too. But these
- 12:12tend to see a lot of use in perfect
- 12:14combat pal builds and are another one
- 12:16that must be passed down through
- 12:17breeding from the correct pals. Beyond
- 12:19that, pretty much everything else I'll
- 12:20be mentioning today is acquirable as an
- 12:21implant in some way. Serenity. We talked
- 12:23about this one earlier. It is attack
- 12:25increased mixed with 30% cooldown
- 12:27reduction. Essentially, for any PAL that
- 12:29you plan to have consistently active
- 12:31throughout combat, this skill is a
- 12:33must-have. The majority of PAL
- 12:35effectiveness happens when they use
- 12:36their proper active skills. And most of
- 12:38the best moves are 30-second timers.
- 12:40Dropping that down by 30% means they can
- 12:42apply that damage faster, which is a big
- 12:44bonus for a yellow tier passive that
- 12:46again you can just get very early on
- 12:48from the arena. Demon God then is a
- 12:51standard good passive as well. This one
- 12:52is 30% bonus attack and 5% defense with
- 12:55no negatives. It's just a great simple
- 12:57bonus with solid values. This is
- 12:58especially good if you want to make a
- 12:59pal with multiple different element
- 13:01types of attacks for like a general use
- 13:03combat pal instead of something
- 13:04specified to take on a certain target.
- 13:06For defensive passives, diamond body is
- 13:09also worth mentioning here. This is 30%
- 13:11defense, immunity to flinch, and
- 13:13immunity to knock back, which is a solid
- 13:15full combo. But the real top tier
- 13:17defensive passive for a combat pel is
- 13:19actually going to be one of the new
- 13:20mutation passives, which is immortality
- 13:22right over here. This one is absolutely
- 13:25nuts. And again, you can only get this
- 13:27through mutations and then you can pass
- 13:28it down to other pals or you can again
- 13:30get an implant for this in the endame
- 13:32through the relic recycling too. What it
- 13:34actually does then is it is 5% life
- 13:38steal which on a well-built combat pal
- 13:40that's doing lots of damage that'll be a
- 13:42lot of healing, but also it comes with
- 13:44100% increased auto regeneration rate
- 13:46for the pal, which is huge, and 15%
- 13:49attack as an extra added bonus just as a
- 13:51sort of cherry on top there. Then we
- 13:53have two extremely powerful passives to
- 13:54talk about if they are used correctly,
- 13:57at least for offensive purposes. Here we
- 13:58have God of Destruction, which is here.
- 14:00It is 40% attack, 20% increased defense,
- 14:04but it literally halves your maximum HP
- 14:06if you are trying to do actually
- 14:08properly challenging content. Half HP
- 14:11tends to be a bit too much of a drop,
- 14:12but it sort of depends on your style of
- 14:14play. So, we'll get into it a bit more
- 14:16meaningfully in a minute. Just know that
- 14:17this is super powerful, but also quite
- 14:20risky to use. The other option here is
- 14:22twinedged holy blade. This is 50% bonus
- 14:26attack but 30% reduced defense. This
- 14:28again is another world tree passive.
- 14:30This of course means like the previous
- 14:31one, it has a lot of potential value as
- 14:33its pure offensive gain is nuts at 50%.
- 14:35[laughter] But the loss of defense can
- 14:37be quite damning in properly tough
- 14:39content. I would say that in a perfect
- 14:41minmax build, every pal that you build
- 14:43for the sake of its own damage will have
- 14:45some combination of those four skills.
- 14:48An example being this one here, which is
- 14:49my King Paca Freddy, who has a slight
- 14:51variation because his species is
- 14:53incredibly tanky and becomes even more
- 14:55tanky when using the partner skill and
- 14:56having multiple Nellpaka backup pals.
- 14:58So, I spray for the beauty of twinedged
- 15:00holy blade for this pal, which does give
- 15:02him the uh decreased defense, but he
- 15:04makes up for that defense loss and then
- 15:06gains just 50% attack from it. That
- 15:08said, for a pal that you want to be
- 15:10consistently active in challenging
- 15:12content and has less natural tankiness
- 15:14boost than than a king paka would, you
- 15:16would instead want to use demon god,
- 15:18which we talked about earlier, the
- 15:19general 30% attack boost and 5% defense
- 15:22boost, too. Or you could use one of the
- 15:24element booster passives. Those are also
- 15:2630% offensive boost, but they don't have
- 15:27the defense bonus of demon god, and they
- 15:29are a bit more specified in what they
- 15:30can affect. Legend and immortality are
- 15:33essentially ones that I would say are
- 15:34staples of any minmax combat pal.
- 15:37Immortality I would use in literally any
- 15:39setup as a life steal combined with
- 15:40passive regen just make any PAL that is
- 15:43combat focused and is offense focused
- 15:45become ridiculously tanky compared to
- 15:47how they would be without it. And the
- 15:48impact of this passive is pretty much
- 15:50unmatched defensively. Legend is great
- 15:52for pretty much any PAL unless you
- 15:54really just only care about pure attack
- 15:56stacking and nothing else as there are
- 15:57technically stronger attack boosting
- 15:59passives that we've talked about, but
- 16:00they just don't come with the big
- 16:02defense and movement speed boost that
- 16:03this passive does. But I'd say legend
- 16:05and immortality are like every combat
- 16:08pal that you want to use for its own
- 16:09damage should have these unless you are
- 16:11doing something specifically funky or
- 16:13risky on purpose. Then the fourth one is
- 16:15serenity here. Serenity again is an
- 16:17absolute top tier offensive skill in the
- 16:19vast majority of play styles and
- 16:20situations. The one exception to this is
- 16:23if you are specifically playing in a way
- 16:25where you rotate through your entire
- 16:27party of pals. You let each one of them
- 16:29use their big long cooldown attacks and
- 16:30then just put the pal away and move on
- 16:32to the next one. If you are doing that
- 16:34then generally the cooldown reduction
- 16:35from serenity would be unnecessary. So
- 16:37you could just get a stronger pure
- 16:39attack boost bonus passive instead.
- 16:41Similarly for this play style you can
- 16:42lean a bit more into the risky world
- 16:44tree passives like god of destruction or
- 16:45twined holy blade because when you put
- 16:47the pal back in the sphere it will
- 16:49automatically regenerate health. This is
- 16:51a much safer way to use a pal than just
- 16:53having it out consistently. So you can
- 16:54play around with the riskier world tree
- 16:56attack boosters instead. That said, the
- 16:59only passive that I did call out as
- 17:00being good when we were talking about
- 17:01them in general, but didn't mention
- 17:02there specifically is diamond body. And
- 17:05this is essentially because it's a bit
- 17:06less desired in general because it is
- 17:07purely defensive. The reason it's still
- 17:09relevant is there are some situations or
- 17:11some fights where you will want a bit of
- 17:14extra tankiness instead of just pure raw
- 17:16damage. And in those situations, this is
- 17:18the skill that you would slot in over a
- 17:20damage passive. It is the next best
- 17:21defensive skill for an active combat
- 17:23pal. After that, there are another set
- 17:25of passives related to combat. Because
- 17:27generally speaking, most players won't
- 17:28actually have all five of their PAL
- 17:30party slots be used during combat for
- 17:32their damage. Even if you swap between
- 17:34pals that use their attacks, it's
- 17:36usually just two or three out of your
- 17:38party at most. This means generally at
- 17:40least two pals will be pals that you
- 17:42want to have give you as much value as
- 17:45possible just by being in the party,
- 17:47even if they are never summoned. This
- 17:48means boosting their stats themselves is
- 17:50pretty irrelevant, and instead you want
- 17:52to find passives that help combat in
- 17:54other ways. The ones of note here
- 17:55especially are Vanguard, which is a
- 17:57player attack boost for any pal in the
- 17:59party who has this. Stronghold
- 18:01Strategist, which is the same thing, but
- 18:02for defense boosting specifically.
- 18:04Reload Master, which is literally just
- 18:06faster reload speed. And then
- 18:08idiosyncratic, which is a mutation
- 18:10specific passive that gives you 50% auto
- 18:12health regen rate for both the PAL and
- 18:14the player. We don't really care about
- 18:15the PAL part of this cuz again it's not
- 18:17coming out of the sphere. But this just
- 18:18gives us 50% auto regen rate as the
- 18:20player which makes us more survivable
- 18:22without that PAL ever coming out of the
- 18:24ball. And it's important to note this
- 18:25does stack across multiple party
- 18:26exclusive pals. So you can get a lot of
- 18:28increased regen rate as a result. So if
- 18:30we're talking about the passive that you
- 18:31want on a pal that is in your party but
- 18:33never summoned, this will boost your
- 18:35player yourself to be much stronger just
- 18:37by existing in the background. Next up,
- 18:39let's talk about pals who purpose is
- 18:41being ridden, being mounted, being used
- 18:43as a method of travel. However you want
- 18:45to word it, these are the pals that
- 18:47you're going to be riding around the
- 18:48world. So, let's start by mentioning the
- 18:49really good mount related skills. Then,
- 18:51I'll explain how you'd put them together
- 18:52or any variations of this. Dimensional
- 18:55leap is now the best singular movement
- 18:57passive in the game. This is a 50%
- 19:00increase in movement speed at the cost
- 19:01of 15% increased hunger depletion.
- 19:04Hunger depletion does suck, sure, but
- 19:0650% speed is absolutely crazy. Legend we
- 19:10talked about in the combat section, but
- 19:11the main reason you want it here is that
- 19:13part of its value is 20% movement speed.
- 19:15This means it is within the threshold of
- 19:17being worth using on most mounts for
- 19:19that speed bonus alone. Even outside of
- 19:20the fact that it also has extra combat
- 19:22benefits if you happen to end up in
- 19:24combat. Beyond that, Swift is the next
- 19:26best generic movement speed passive. It
- 19:28is a rainbow passive for 30% increased
- 19:30movement speed. And then runner is a
- 19:32yellow passive for 20% increased
- 19:34movement speed as well. We should also
- 19:36talk about eternal engine which is a
- 19:38rainbow passive that gives you an a
- 19:40massive increase in your stamina of 75%.
- 19:43And in theory that is good, but in terms
- 19:44of actual practical flight, your main
- 19:47goals will never really be to fly more
- 19:48than the distance of one fast travel
- 19:50point to another. So the amount of
- 19:51stamina that you have naturally on most
- 19:53pals will be enough to do that if you
- 19:55have enough speed put on them. That
- 19:56means that just increasing their stamina
- 19:58is less helpful for most PALs than just
- 20:00having higher amounts of speed. I said
- 20:02this does still have some uses like if
- 20:04you're trying to fly back and forth,
- 20:05despawning and respawning pals to search
- 20:06for specific spawns or lucky pals or
- 20:09world tree aura pals or things like
- 20:10that. So, eternal engine as a skill is
- 20:12still worth mentioning, but it's not
- 20:13something most mount pals will actually
- 20:15want. It's also worth mentioning on this
- 20:17topic, King of the Waves is a swimming
- 20:19specific speed boost. So for swimming
- 20:21mounts, this is a 50% movement speed
- 20:23bonus and it is tied strongest movement
- 20:26speed passive with dimensional leap as a
- 20:27result. Swimming mounts also have some
- 20:29other skills as well. Ace swimmer is
- 20:31another swimming related passive that is
- 20:33specifically 40% movement speed in the
- 20:35water. And then also you have sleek
- 20:37stroke which is equivalent to swift so
- 20:4030% increased speed but unlike swift
- 20:42this one only applies in the water. So
- 20:43swift is technically better to have but
- 20:45this is an option that is of equal value
- 20:47in swimming specifically. That said, for
- 20:49a normal mount pal that is built
- 20:51entirely for travel, so you don't care
- 20:52about combat on it at all. It is just
- 20:54for moving from point A to point B, the
- 20:56four actual passives that you want are
- 20:58dimensional, leap, swift, legend, and
- 21:02then also runner. This will give you the
- 21:05result of the fastest movement speed on
- 21:07that PAL, and the result is actually
- 21:08pretty nutty as well. If it is a mount
- 21:10that you intend to ride in combat
- 21:12instead, like for example a frost
- 21:13stallion, where it affects your damage
- 21:15and you want to have that effect on your
- 21:16damage while you're riding it, you would
- 21:18then replace runner as the least
- 21:19valuable passive here for idiosyncratic,
- 21:22which we talked about before on our
- 21:23party combat pal right here. This is a
- 21:26really really good one for if you are
- 21:28mounting a pal because it applies to
- 21:29both the player and the pal with the
- 21:30regen rate, but also it's a big defense
- 21:32boost for the pal and immunity to poison
- 21:34and burn. Essentially, this makes it so
- 21:35both the PAL itself and the player
- 21:37riding them are more survivable and it's
- 21:38better than immortality on this type of
- 21:40PAL because you're not using this PAL
- 21:42for its damage itself. You're not
- 21:43building it so that it does a lot of
- 21:44damage, which means that life steal
- 21:46doesn't mean anything. Instead, these
- 21:47defense boosts are much better for this
- 21:49type of PAL. Then, it's also worth
- 21:50mentioning swimming. Specifically, the
- 21:52specific four passives you would want
- 21:53are dimensional leap, king of the waves.
- 21:55These are both equal priority except
- 21:57dimensional leap does have a negative,
- 21:58but they are both 50% movement speed in
- 22:00the applicable mount situation. Then the
- 22:02next priority is a swimmer being a 40%
- 22:04speed increase on the water. And then
- 22:06either sleekst stroke or swift with
- 22:08again swift being less conditional. So
- 22:10it is slightly better. Though in most
- 22:12situations that you actually care about
- 22:13using a water mount, it will be on the
- 22:14water anyway. So sleekst stroke is
- 22:15equally as good. One extra mention in
- 22:18the mount passive category. Then there
- 22:19is the sky marcher right here as well as
- 22:21light footed. Both of these increase
- 22:23mounted jump count. These only really
- 22:26matter for ground mounts which generally
- 22:27get phased out once you get to flying
- 22:28mounts. The one that this is hugely
- 22:30relevant for is Tarantress specifically
- 22:32whose movement is essentially done
- 22:33through a combo of her partner skill and
- 22:35aerial jumps to carry momentum. So bonus
- 22:38air jumps on her are actually extremely
- 22:41sick and I absolutely recommend trying
- 22:42to build a battle like this on your
- 22:44tarantus because it's very fun to play
- 22:46with. Next category to talk about then
- 22:47are base worker palace. And for the
- 22:49majority of base workers, this is
- 22:50actually going to be an identical set of
- 22:52four that you are aiming for. Maybe one
- 22:54of them gets replaced. that said,
- 22:55"Demon's hand is a world tree specific
- 22:58passive that gives a whopping 90% worksp
- 23:00speed at the cost of 15% faster sand
- 23:03reduction, but is absolutely worth that
- 23:05negative there for the amount of work
- 23:06speed it gives. Remarkable craftsmanship
- 23:09does not have a negative, but it is
- 23:10still 75% bonus work speed, so it's the
- 23:13next highest work speed booster. Artisan
- 23:15is 50% worksp speed, so it's the next
- 23:17highest work speed booster down. And
- 23:19then the final slot, you will want one
- 23:21of two things. either works slave which
- 23:23is 30% work speed and 30% negative
- 23:26attack. You don't care about the attack
- 23:27of your base worker pals. So work speed
- 23:29is good to have here without caring
- 23:31about that negative or alternatively
- 23:33what matters here is whether the pallet
- 23:35is naturally nocturnal or not. So it
- 23:37sleeps at night or not. Splatterina is a
- 23:39pal that does not sleep at night
- 23:41naturally just because of the pallet it
- 23:42is. So works slave makes sense to have
- 23:44here. If you do not have a naturally
- 23:46nocturnal pal, you instead want to apply
- 23:48either insomnia or vampiric in that
- 23:51fourth slot to ensure that the pal works
- 23:52during night time as that literally just
- 23:54adds hours to their workday. The main
- 23:56exception to this group of passives is
- 23:57transporting pals as they specifically
- 23:59do a lot of moving as part of their work
- 24:01and any transporting specific base
- 24:03workers you essentially want to build
- 24:04like a travel mount. So, dimensional
- 24:06leap for the extra movement speed,
- 24:07legend for the extra movement speed,
- 24:09swift for the extra movement speed, and
- 24:11then either runner in the final slot if
- 24:13it is a naturally nocturnal pal, or if
- 24:15it is not a nocturnal pal, you want to
- 24:17create that sort of effect by having
- 24:19insomnia or vampiric to give it the
- 24:21ability to not sleep at night and
- 24:23continue working, continuing to
- 24:24transport your stuff around. Finally,
- 24:26for today, then one more small category
- 24:28worth discussing is breeding. And this
- 24:29is a fun one because there are good
- 24:31reasons to talk about breeding passives
- 24:32now more than ever. There are only two
- 24:34passives that affect breeding. So, let's
- 24:36talk about both. Babysitter is a new
- 24:38mutated egg specific passive. This one
- 24:41is unique because it does not go on the
- 24:42pal who is breeding themselves. It goes
- 24:44on any other pal that is in the base
- 24:46with them and then it speeds up the
- 24:47breeding done in that base as well as
- 24:49speeding up incubation. This passive
- 24:51does not stack across multiple pals. So,
- 24:53having multiple of it does not make it
- 24:55better. And sadly, it also does not
- 24:57stack with Broloha's partner skill.
- 24:59Bralha's partner skill is stronger than
- 25:01babysitter's effect when it's condensed
- 25:03at least. And that means that babysitter
- 25:04as a passive is useful early but useless
- 25:07once you have a good Bra because this is
- 25:10just better at the same effect.
- 25:11Philanthropist as a passive however is
- 25:14100% boost to breed speed of the paladus
- 25:16on and this does stack with having a
- 25:18brala in your base if you are mass
- 25:20breeding. Philanthropist as a passive
- 25:22will make it happen twice as fast if
- 25:24it's on one parent but this does stack
- 25:26if it is on both parents too. So, two
- 25:29philanthropists in a single breeding
- 25:30pair will be triple breed speed. For the
- 25:33most part, in the old days, the rule of
- 25:34thumb was that philanthropist wasn't
- 25:36really worth it for most breeding
- 25:37because you usually care about the
- 25:39passives the child has. Philanthropist
- 25:41will muddy the passive pool that the
- 25:43parents have. So, that's generally more
- 25:45than it's worth for the actual like
- 25:46speed increase of the breeding. However,
- 25:48with how many options there are now for
- 25:50implants of passives, it's actually
- 25:52relatively easily to have one
- 25:54undesirable passive on a child that is
- 25:56otherwise perfect and just replace it
- 25:58through the implants or even two of them
- 25:59if you have the materials to do so. This
- 26:01means that philanthropist is much more
- 26:03of an option for just generic breeding
- 26:04as a result of that once you're in that
- 26:06stage of deep endame. Beyond that, if
- 26:08you are breeding pals purely as fuel for
- 26:10condensing them into a different pal, if
- 26:12you are breeding pals for expedition
- 26:14uses, because expeditions don't actually
- 26:16care about your passives, if you are
- 26:18breeding pals to butcher them or to sell
- 26:20them, you won't really care about having
- 26:22four perfect passives on those each one
- 26:24that you create at least, which means
- 26:25that having philanthropist in the
- 26:26breeding pool is not a problem for
- 26:28those. And the extra speed is a pure
- 26:30bonus. Nice and simple. Similar to that,
- 26:33just to mention it while we're here, is
- 26:34also the ability to make a pal nocturnal
- 26:36through insomnia or vampiric, which we
- 26:38talked about earlier with base worker
- 26:39pals. But like for that, when breeding,
- 26:41pals will sleep at night if they are
- 26:43pals that naturally sleep at night. So
- 26:45having insomnia or vampiric on them will
- 26:47make them not do that, and then they'll
- 26:48breed through the night, making them
- 26:49breed more hours of the day. So just
- 26:50overall better breeding consistency
- 26:52essentially. But once you have the
- 26:54ancient hatchery unlocked later in the
- 26:56game, this doesn't really do anything
- 26:57because once the pals are in the
- 26:58hatchery, they won't sleep. They will
- 27:00just breed all the time. That pretty
- 27:02much does it for today everyone. A full
