2:26And on the top of the pyramid is Maddie.

2:38I was so happy to be in the top of the pyramid for two
2:41weeks in a row, but also, I kind of feel bad for the other girls
2:45because I think they worked very hard, too.
2:47All right, now, this weekend, we will be traveling
2:54to Miami Beach, Florida.

4:28of my feet tomorrow.
4:32They said she should be fine to dance in three days,

25:55And I was really, really proud and really pleased for Kendall.

26:04This is like an arena, like a big stage.
26:06It's the morning of the competition,
26:07and I'm feeling excited, energized.
26:10It's at the Florida International University,
26:12a gorgeous campus.
26:14Remember, this is Miami.
26:16Even though these girls are on dance teams
26:18and they're here competing, they all go to dance class.
26:21You want them to go home saying, oh my goodness, you
26:24can't believe those girls from Pittsburgh.
26:26So in the green room, right before we're getting
26:28ready to dance, Paige is sitting there icing her feet,
26:30and I'm thinking, this doesn't look too good.
26:32You told me that you think you can do it.
26:35I'd rather pull the number now, when they take a break,
26:39than pull it right before it's ready to go
26:40and have you all upset and everybody upset.
26:42I think I can do it.
26:44Paige better not be lying to me,
26:46and this better not come back to bite me in the butt.
26:49They better get out there and be the divas
26:52that I trained them to be.

26:59ANNOUNCER: Performing next we have Abby Lee Dance.

29:14I think that everybody doing something different
29:16in the choreography really worked in our favor.

29:20and Brooke did her roundoff back step out, the crowd went crazy.

29:41In fourth place, the ladies from Riveria [inaudible]..

29:49This group was clearly the best.
29:51They were the most entertaining.

29:53The whole audience was into it.
29:55I would really be surprised if they didn't win first.
29:58ANNOUNCER: Moving on.
29:59Third place ensemble, "Beach Fun" from Abby Lee.

30:13In second place, we have the trio from Abby Lee.
30:19ABBY LEE: Even though we did not win first place in the group
30:21category, I'm still very proud of the girls.
30:24Not only is the competition fierce in Miami,
30:27but they were competing against girls in high school,
30:30and they still placed in the top three.
30:32That's impressive.
30:33What did you girls think?
30:34I thought we did really good.
30:36Well, there was tough competition out there tonight.
30:38There was definitely tough competition,
30:39and congratulations to everybody.
30:42But before you went out there, remember, this is Miami.
30:45These girls are probably going to be amazing.
30:48You want to be more amazing.

30:50The group dance did not win first place,
30:53but I have solos that will shine.

31:05I'm a little nervous this week for Maddie
31:07to do her solo, because it's on a gym floor
31:09and she slipped last time we were in a gym.
31:11So she's really, really nervous.
31:15ANNOUNCER: Maddie to the stage.

31:34(SINGING) It happens in movies.

31:44I didn't believe it till you came along.

32:19I think Maddie's solo this week is one of my favorites.
32:23The song is beautiful, and she really got into character,
32:26and it really touched my heart.

34:23ABBY LEE: Paige's solo was good.
34:25I saw a few things that she can improve upon.
34:27She did some new turns in her dance
34:29that I really don't feel she's ready to do yet.
34:31But otherwise, I thought she did a great job.
34:34ANNOUNCER: Nia [inaudible].
34:36Nia was really shaken up by the argument
34:38that I had with Abby, and I'm concerned that this fight is
34:42going to get her focus not on the dance but focusing
34:46on trying to please Abby and doing everything perfectly.
34:48[applause]

35:10My worst fears are coming true and my heart begins to break,
35:15and I see my little girl freeze.

35:30I'm watching Nia perform and I see my little girl freeze,
35:35and there's nothing more I can do than just be a supportive
35:37mom.
35:53ANNOUNCER: Nia.
35:57Let's hear it for Nia.

36:12OK, you know the dance.

36:36I know it's very rare that they would ever
36:38let someone do a dance over.
36:41I want my child to at least be considered for a second chance.
36:44Hi, I wasn't sure who I should speak to.
36:46Nia would like to do her dance again, if it's at all possible.
36:49Take a deep breath before you go on.
36:51I'll find a spot.
36:52What I found was the competition director
36:54was amazing.
36:55She was very accommodating.
36:57Her heart bled for Nia and she allowed her to do this dance
37:00again, and I was thrilled.
37:09I knew when she got off the stage,
37:10she was going to be mortified, but most importantly, she
37:12wasn't be afraid of Abby's reaction.
37:21I heard you're going to dance again.
37:24You know when you dance again, you
37:26have to be 1,000 times better than the first time.
37:28For me, it's not just about this routine on this day.
37:32This is a life lesson that we all need to learn.
37:36I am preparing Nia for the future,
37:39and a future in this business is tough.
37:42You don't get a second chance.
37:45ANNOUNCER: And taking the stage for a second time, we have Nia.

39:04first through fifth grade.

39:15Even after the week that kid's had,
39:17Nia acted like a responsible dancer.
39:19If you fall off the bike, you need to get right back on it.

39:24That was good, Holly.
39:25She'll be happy with that.
39:28I'm proud of myself and I'm glad I did it.
