  1. 0:00Welcome back to Drawing Solution.
  2. 0:04In today's video, we are diving into the
  3. 0:06fascinating world of isometric drawing
  4. 0:08and tackling a slightly more advanced
  5. 0:11topic, understanding hidden lines.
  6. 0:15If you're new here or need a refresher,
  7. 0:17be sure to check out our previous videos
  8. 0:19on isometric drawing basics to get up to
  9. 0:22speed.
  10. 0:25In isometric drawing, hidden lines play
  11. 0:28a crucial role in accurately
  12. 0:30representing threedimensional objects on
  13. 0:32a two-dimensional surface. They are the
  14. 0:34lines that are not visible from a
  15. 0:36particular viewing angle, but are
  16. 0:38essential in understanding the complete
  17. 0:40structure of the object.
  18. 0:42Let's begin.
  19. 0:46Start by creating the X. The X-axis
  20. 0:48should be at a 30° angle from the base.
  21. 0:52the y-axis at 90°
  22. 0:56and the z-axis at 150°.
  23. 1:03Now, let's construct an isometric box
  24. 1:05with dimensions.
  25. 1:22height y of 8 cm,
  26. 1:25width x of 8 cm and depth z of 8 cm.
  27. 1:40[Music]
  28. 2:07The y-axis appears as a point from the
  29. 2:09top view. So, we can't measure its
  30. 2:11length accurately from that angle.
  31. 2:13However, we can determine the total
  32. 2:15width which is 8 cm from both views.
  33. 2:20Similarly, the total depth appears as a
  34. 2:23line measuring 8 cm from the top view
  35. 2:26while it seems like a point from the
  36. 2:27front view.
  37. 2:29Let's start by creating plane C
  38. 2:35which has a width of 8 cm and
  39. 2:39a height of 2 cm.
  40. 3:00To avoid confusion, let's name the
  41. 3:02parts.
  42. 3:05We'll call the narrower plane G and the
  43. 3:07wider one J.
  44. 3:10We can determine the distance to draw
  45. 3:12planes G and J from plane C by referring
  46. 3:14to the top view.
  47. 3:17Extrude plane C parallel to Z-axis and
  48. 3:19end at 8 cm.
  49. 3:40To draw plane J, move 6 cm from plane C
  50. 3:44and mark that point.
  51. 3:48Draw a perpendicular line to the Z-axis.
  52. 3:55Extrude the line to the desired height.
  53. 3:57In this case, the height is 6 cm
  54. 4:00according to the front view.
  55. 4:22From the top view, lines parallel to the
  56. 4:25y-axis appear as points, while lines
  57. 4:28parallel to the x-axis appear wider.
  58. 4:32We can see a partition from the top
  59. 4:34view. To create it, measure 2.5 cm from
  60. 4:38the starting point. 3 cm from that
  61. 4:40remaining is 2.5 cm.
  62. 4:48Then connect the end points of the
  63. 4:50extruded lines.
  64. 5:03Let's draw the vertical lines. According
  65. 5:05to the front view, they are 2.5 cm in
  66. 5:08length.
  67. 5:20Connect the end points with a line
  68. 5:21parallel to the X-axis and another line
  69. 5:24parallel to the Z-axis.
  70. 5:40Now let's create a rectangular hole in
  71. 5:42plane L which is parallel to the X-axis
  72. 5:45and visible from the top view. The hole
  73. 5:48should measure 4 cm by 4 cm.
  74. 5:53Move 1 cm from point A towards the
  75. 5:55X-axis and mark it as point B. Then
  76. 5:58measure for centimeters from point B to
  77. 6:00point C.
  78. 6:03Draw a line parallel to the Z-axis from
  79. 6:05points B to C.
  80. 6:09Repeat the marking process, but this
  81. 6:11time in the direction of the Z-axis.
  82. 6:13Mark points D and F.
  83. 6:16Draw lines parallel to the X-axis from
  84. 6:18points D and F.
  85. 6:48The depth of the rectangular hole is
  86. 6:50parallel to the y-axis.
  87. 6:53Check its dimensions from the front view
  88. 6:55where it should measure to centime.
  89. 7:01Connect the end points of vertical to cm
  90. 7:04line with a line measuring for
  91. 7:05centimeters parallel to Z-axis and
  92. 7:08parallel to x-axis.
  93. 7:16Finally,
  94. 7:18create the last plane which is rectangle
  95. 7:20with dimensions of 2 cm by 4 cm. In the
  96. 7:24top view,
  97. 7:27extrude the plane to the desired height.
  98. 7:29Since we gau height dimension from
  99. 7:31y-axis, refer the front view. Connect
  100. 7:34the end points to complete the drawing.
  101. 7:38Move to cm from point B to create it.
  102. 8:13That's it.
  103. 8:15You've successfully created an isometric
  104. 8:17drawing. We hope you found this tutorial
  105. 8:19helpful.
