  1. 0:00Welcome to the extended leadership
  2. 0:01program or ELP for short. ELP is
  3. 0:04designed for people who have completed
  4. 0:06the Aspire Leaders Program or ALP for
  5. 0:08short and want to continue developing
  6. 0:10their leadership skills. Whether someone
  7. 0:12has recently completed ALP or has been
  8. 0:14part of the Aspire community for several
  9. 0:16years, ELP provides a space to build on
  10. 0:18that foundation.
  11. 0:20In this video, we'll introduce the
  12. 0:21program and explain how you can get
  13. 0:23involved. Now, you might be wondering
  14. 0:25what comes next. ALP gives you a
  15. 0:27foundation in leadership. ELP is where
  16. 0:30you continue building on it. Think of it
  17. 0:32as the next part of your leadership
  18. 0:34journey, a space where you continue to
  19. 0:36grow on your own terms. This video will
  20. 0:38walk you through everything the ELP has
  21. 0:40to offer. We'll keep it high-level, just
  22. 0:43enough for you to understand what's
  23. 0:44available and where to find it. Let's
  24. 0:46get started. So, what exactly is ELP?
  25. 0:49It's a program that connects Aspire
  26. 0:51graduates with the resources they need
  27. 0:53to succeed as they develop their purpose
  28. 0:55and achieve their professional
  29. 0:56objectives.
  30. 0:57Once you complete the Aspire Leaders
  31. 0:59Program, you automatically get access to
  32. 1:01ELP. It's completely free and built
  33. 1:04around opportunities you can choose to
  34. 1:06engage with based on where you are in
  35. 1:07your career or academic journey. Nothing
  36. 1:10here is mandatory. You're in the
  37. 1:11driver's seat. ELP gives you access to
  38. 1:14resources, opportunities, and support,
  39. 1:16and you choose what to engage with and
  40. 1:18when. Here's what the ELP section of the
  41. 1:20Engage portal looks like after you
  42. 1:22graduate. As you can see, everything
  43. 1:24we're about to walk through lives right
  44. 1:26here. Don't worry about memorizing it
  45. 1:28now. We'll go through each part one by
  46. 1:30one. ELP is organized around three
  47. 1:32pathways. Each one offers resources,
  48. 1:35opportunities, and partnerships with
  49. 1:36organizations that work specifically
  50. 1:38with Aspire graduates. These are
  51. 1:40self-guided tracks consisting of partner
  52. 1:42tools, organizations, opportunities, and
  53. 1:45funding sources, so you can
  54. 1:47self-navigate toward your next goal at
  55. 1:49your own pace. Think of them as flexible
  56. 1:51roadmaps, not fixed programs. The first
  57. 1:54is career development. Through this
  58. 1:56pathway, you gain access to resources
  59. 1:58and opportunities designed to facilitate
  60. 2:00your career advancement through
  61. 2:01professional skills development,
  62. 2:03enhancement of job application
  63. 2:05materials, and expanded access to career
  64. 2:07opportunities. Here, you'll find
  65. 2:09resources and tools designed to support
  66. 2:11you at various stages of your career
  67. 2:13development journey, from exploring
  68. 2:15career domains and building your skills
  69. 2:17to strengthening your job application
  70. 2:19materials.
  71. 2:20Some notable partner tools in this
  72. 2:22pathway include Forage, which offers
  73. 2:24access to hundreds of job simulations,
  74. 2:27Global Mentorship Initiative for
  75. 2:29one-on-one mentorship, Prepare for
  76. 2:31AI-powered interview preparation, and
  77. 2:33more. There's also the Skills
  78. 2:35Advancement Grant, which helps you
  79. 2:36pursue certifications and professional
  80. 2:38development. The second is
  81. 2:40entrepreneurship. Through this pathway,
  82. 2:42you gain access to resources and
  83. 2:44opportunities designed to help you
  84. 2:46launch new ventures, accelerate existing
  85. 2:48businesses, or develop innovative
  86. 2:50solutions to address social challenges
  87. 2:52in your communities. The Seed Fund
  88. 2:55provides early-stage funding for
  89. 2:56promising ventures. You can also scale
  90. 2:59your venture with our partner Moving
  91. 3:00Worlds, and the Community Action Award
  92. 3:02offers advanced funding for projects
  93. 3:04that have already demonstrated proof of
  94. 3:06concept. The third is higher education
  95. 3:09and research. Through this pathway, you
  96. 3:11gain access to resources and
  97. 3:13opportunities designed to help you apply
  98. 3:15to an advanced degree, prepare for
  99. 3:16standardized exams, or develop and
  100. 3:18execute academic research. You can

  106. 3:31registration fees, and the Conference
  107. 3:33Grant, which supports alumni presenting
  108. 3:35research at conferences. Once you
  109. 3:37graduate from the Aspire Leaders
  110. 3:39Program, you won't have to pick just one
  111. 3:41pathway. You'll be free to explore
  112. 3:43whichever ones are relevant to where you
  113. 3:45are in your journey. To explore the
  114. 3:47pathways, you can simply go to the main
  115. 3:48ELP page and scroll down until you see
  116. 3:51the three pathways. As mentioned
  117. 3:53earlier, across these pathways, you will
  118. 3:55also have access to financial awards,
  119. 3:57grants designed to support you at
  120. 3:59different stages of your journey. Here's
  121. 4:01a quick overview and recap. The Skills
  122. 4:03Advancement Grant helps you pursue
  123. 4:05certifications and professional
  124. 4:07development. The Seed Fund provides
  125. 4:09early-stage funding for promising social
  126. 4:11ventures and entrepreneurial projects.
  127. 4:13The Aspire United Grant supports
  128. 4:15cross-country alumni projects that offer
  129. 4:17creative solutions for social impact.
  130. 4:20The Community Action Award provides
  131. 4:22advanced funding for projects that have
  132. 4:24already achieved a minimum viable
  133. 4:25product or demonstrated proof of
  134. 4:27concept. The Academic Advancement Grant
  135. 4:29helps cover registration fees for
  136. 4:31standardized exams like IELTS, TOEFL,
  137. 4:34GRE, and SAT. And the Conference Grant
  138. 4:37supports alumni presenting original
  139. 4:39research or projects at conferences and
  140. 4:41summits. Aspire Leaders Program
  141. 4:43graduates are eligible to apply for
  142. 4:45Aspire funding opportunities at any
  143. 4:47point in their alumni journey, provided
  144. 4:50they have not previously received an
  145. 4:51award in the same funding program. These
  146. 4:54are competitive opportunities, and each
  147. 4:56award has its own application deadlines
  148. 4:58and eligibility criteria, so be sure to
  149. 5:00check the details for each award
  150. 5:02carefully before applying. Another
  151. 5:04opportunity available to Aspire alumni
  152. 5:06is our events. There are two types you
  153. 5:08should know about: the Mentorship Series
  154. 5:10and Community Meetups. The Mentorship
  155. 5:13Series are virtual events where an
  156. 5:14established professional or industry
  157. 5:16expert leads a session on a topic that's
  158. 5:19directly relevant to you. These are
  159. 5:21hosted by Aspire alumni volunteers in
  160. 5:23countries where they are active, so the
  161. 5:25content is culturally relevant to your
  162. 5:27context. You join via Zoom, and they
  163. 5:29happen a few times a month. Community
  164. 5:31Meetups are in-person events that take
  165. 5:33place in countries and cities where
  166. 5:35Aspire volunteers are active. Some are
  167. 5:38formal and speaker-led, while others are
  168. 5:40more informal, focused on building
  169. 5:42relationships and community among
  170. 5:43alumni. Either way, they're a great
  171. 5:45chance to connect with fellow Aspire
  172. 5:47alumni near you. Most mentorship events
  173. 5:50will be listed in the events section
  174. 5:52while community and country specific
  175. 5:53events will be emailed to you directly.
  176. 5:55To find upcoming events, you can go to
  177. 5:57the main YLP landing page and scroll
  178. 5:59down until you see events. They're free
  179. 6:01to attend and you can sign up directly
  180. 6:03through the Engage portal by clicking on
  181. 6:05the join button. All of the mentorship
  182. 6:07series and community meetups we just
  183. 6:09talked about are made possible by our
  184. 6:11incredible global team of alumni
  185. 6:13volunteers.
  186. 6:15If you're interested in directly
  187. 6:16contributing to opportunities like
  188. 6:18these, whether that's organizing virtual
  189. 6:20or in-person events, supporting alumni
  190. 6:23engagement on Discord as a moderator, or
  191. 6:25taking on other leadership roles, the
  192. 6:27Aspire volunteer program or AVP is how
  193. 6:30you can get involved as an ALP graduate.
  194. 6:33As a volunteer, you could serve as a
  195. 6:34community leader, a domain leader, a
  196. 6:37campus leader, a Discord moderator, a
  197. 6:39community captain, or even a regional
  198. 6:41lead. There are also need-based function
  199. 6:44specific roles that come up from time to
  200. 6:46time as Aspire HQ has specific needs.
  201. 6:49Each role contributes to Aspire's
  202. 6:51mission in a different way and all of
  203. 6:53them help you grow as a leader. New
  204. 6:55volunteer opportunities open up
  205. 6:57regularly, so keep an eye on your email
  206. 6:59for announcements as they become
  207. 7:00available. If you're part of an Aspire
  208. 7:03foundry, your country may also have its
  209. 7:05own volunteering opportunities and team
  210. 7:07structure. Speaking of foundries, you
  211. 7:10may have heard this term before and
  212. 7:11here's what it means. Foundries are
  213. 7:13Aspire's national teams.
  214. 7:16Think of them as country specific
  215. 7:18offices that carry out Aspire's mission
  216. 7:20locally. Each foundry operates
  217. 7:22independently with its own strategy, its
  218. 7:24own team, and its own way of working
  219. 7:27while staying aligned with Aspire's
  220. 7:28overall goals. We currently have
  221. 7:30foundries in India, Pakistan, Bolivia,
  222. 7:33Mexico, and Turkey with more on the way.
  223. 7:35If your country has a foundry, they may
  224. 7:37offer country specific opportunities,
  225. 7:39events, and resources and will reach out
  226. 7:42to you directly with updates as they
  227. 7:43become available. So, to recap, ELP is
  228. 7:46your space to keep growing after the
  229. 7:48Aspire Leaders Program.
  230. 7:50Within it, you have three pathways, each
  231. 7:52with dedicated partner tools and
  232. 7:54resources, plus financial awards,
  233. 7:56events, and volunteering opportunities.
  234. 7:59After graduation, we encourage you to
  235. 8:00take some time to explore, browse the
  236. 8:02pathways, check out upcoming events, and
  237. 8:05see the opportunities that are available
  238. 8:07to you. This is your program. It's here
  239. 8:09for you whenever you're ready. We're to
  240. 8:11welcome you to the extended leadership
  241. 8:13program. Your journey continues here.
