  1. 0:00In the last video, we have talked about
  2. 0:02some organizational environment. There
  3. 0:04is some specific environment which
  4. 0:06affects directly the organization, and
  5. 0:08then there is some general environment.
  6. 0:10And we still
  7. 0:11have taken the organization as something
  8. 0:14rigid, and we didn't really care what's
  9. 0:15inside. And in this video, I would like
  10. 0:17to introduce you the idea of
  11. 0:19organizational domain. And first, I will
  12. 0:22bring a little bit of theory so that the
  13. 0:25organizational domain is understand as
  14. 0:27the range
  15. 0:29as the range of two things.
  16. 0:32It can be either the range of goods and
  17. 0:35services it it's provider produces. So,
  18. 0:39goods and services produced
  19. 0:44services produced or it can be
  20. 0:48understood as a as a range of customers
  21. 0:51it serves. So, customers
  22. 0:56it serves.
  23. 0:58This is I think this definition it's
  24. 1:00quite simple one, but I think it's very
  25. 1:04important to understand it more in deep
  26. 1:06so that the organization is not rigid
  27. 1:09and the environments around are neither
  28. 1:13so.
  29. 1:14And how it can actually change. So,
  30. 1:16let's say that the organization will
  31. 1:19enlarge itself, and it will enlarge its
  32. 1:22range of goods that it produces. So,
  33. 1:25what would happen with our picture then?
  34. 1:26It would enlarge the organization maybe
  35. 1:30just in this way. So, maybe here is some
  36. 1:33department of technology. So, it would
  37. 1:36it would enlarge it. And then, what
  38. 1:38would happen? Now, let's say that
  39. 1:40the
  40. 1:41forces from outside that were the
  41. 1:43technological ones, there would be more
  42. 1:45of them. So, not just one arrow, but
  43. 1:48they would be much more influential for
  44. 1:51it. And let's say how a company can
  45. 1:55enlarge its domain the most. Well, it
  46. 1:57can move to new country. So, let's
  47. 1:59imagine it has got This is the specific
  48. 2:02environment within especially one
  49. 2:04country.
  50. 2:06So, now the company decides that it will
  51. 2:08move international and it moves to
  52. 2:11totally new position.
  53. 2:13So, right over here. And then can happen
  54. 2:16uh
  55. 2:17uh so, organization
  56. 2:20abroad.
  57. 2:21abroad
  58. 2:23And then can can be made a new specific
  59. 2:26environment with with uh totally new
  60. 2:29forces or even a new general environment
  61. 2:32which can be new countries regulations
  62. 2:36or um a new totally new customers due to
  63. 2:40another continent. So, uh with this
  64. 2:43video, I would like to also introduce
  65. 2:46you the idea about
  66. 2:48why the organization would like to
  67. 2:50enlarge its domain and undertake much
  68. 2:54more risks which basically are stemming
  69. 2:57out of uh the forces that are within
  70. 2:59both of these environments is that of
  71. 3:01course every company would like to uh
  72. 3:04produce more goods or serve more
  73. 3:06customers. And and this is the basic
  74. 3:09idea and when you look at this picture
  75. 3:11which we basically described in the
  76. 3:13previous video, it is important to
  77. 3:15understand that it is very flexible and
  78. 3:17you can you can draw around many
  79. 3:19different things. And in the next video,
  80. 3:22we'll talk about some uh theories which
  81. 3:25uh serves or which can organization use
  82. 3:28to enlarge its domain. So, hopefully see
  83. 3:30you there.
