- 0:04Hi, my name is Kent Lynn and I'm the
- 0:06co-founder and COO of Optimum.
- 0:09If you think of web 3 as a world
- 0:11computer, what we're building is the
- 0:13critical component that every computer
- 0:15needs, memory with a high performance
- 0:18memory layer, our goal is to scale every
- 0:21blockchain. Memory for blockchains is
- 0:24quite similar to memory in computers. It
- 0:27performs critical functions including
- 0:29data storage, access and propagation. In
- 0:32blockchains today, these are
- 0:34underdeveloped and have become
- 0:36bottlenecks to scalability. A blockchain
- 0:39is essentially a ledger shared by a
- 0:42network of nodes. To scale any
- 0:44blockchain, we need to power the node
- 0:46operators. Our first product, Optimum
- 0:49P2P, helps node operators propagate data
- 0:52much more efficiently and much more
- 0:54profitably. Take Ethereum as an example.
- 0:58Validators generate revenues primarily
- 1:00from three sources today. Protocol
- 1:03issuance from consensus layer, priority
- 1:05fees or tips and me from execution
- 1:09layer. Each of these income streams is
- 1:11highly sensitive to delays in data
- 1:14propagation. A small lag in receiving or
- 1:18broadcasting a block can mean the
- 1:20difference between securing the reward
- 1:21or missing out entirely. That's where
- 1:24our technology comes in. Optimum
- 1:27leverages random linear network coding
- 1:29or RLNC, a proprietary technology
- 1:32co-invented by my co-founder, Professor
- 1:34Muramed. We use RNC to dramatically
- 1:38accelerate data propagation by
- 1:40supplementing outdated gossip protocols
- 1:43with a coding based approach. We ensure
- 1:46the data reaches validators with minimal
- 1:48delay. This means faster attestations
- 1:51and proposals which translates into
- 1:53fewer miss slots and more profitable
- 1:56blocks. So every opportunity to capture
- 1:59revenue is maximized directly boosting
- 2:02validator APY while keeping operational
- 2:04costs low. These improvements don't just
- 2:08benefit validators. They directly
- 2:10enhance the underlying L1's and L2s by
- 2:13reducing congestion and cost while
- 2:16increasing throughputs and stability.
- 2:18Optimum strengthens network robustness
- 2:20and decentralization
- 2:22at scale. It can significantly cut down
- 2:25block time and finality. This delivers a
- 2:28much smoother user experience across
- 2:30Ethereum, Salana or any other chains you
- 2:32love. In summary, our solution allows
- 2:35validators to capture every reward
- 2:37through faster, more reliable data
- 2:40propagation. For L1's and L2s, we
- 2:42eliminate key scalability bottlenecks
- 2:44and reduce costs, enabling the entire
- 2:47ecosystem to function more efficiently.
- 2:50Optimum is not just addressing today's
- 2:52challenges, we're laying the groundwork
- 2:54for a future where decentralized
- 2:56networks perform with the speed and
- 2:58reliability of high performance
- 3:00computers.
