- 0:41name is Kevin Amirin. My student ID
- 0:43number is 2023870442.
- 0:47In this project, I serve as the
- 0:49researcher of the team.
- 0:58Let's start the introduction of this
- 1:00project innovation. Purple Line is a
- 1:02digitalization of the UiTM campus
- 1:05shuttle service that redesigns how
- 1:07students commute to campus. It
- 1:09streamlines shuttle operations by
- 1:11replacing manual and ineffective
- 1:14boarding with a structured digital
- 1:15system. The system provides a
- 1:18systematized digital booking process
- 1:20focused on efficiency and student
- 1:23convenience. It aims to reduce physical
- 1:26queue congestion and uncertainty about
- 1:29bus arrival schedules. Through workflow
- 1:32digitalization, the system ensures fair
- 1:36seat allocation and provides real-time
- 1:38data to help management.
- 1:41The system covers the entire student
- 1:44transit process at UiTM Puncak Alam,
- 1:47including Laluan A, B, and C.
- 1:50It includes secure UiTM bus student
- 1:54registration, real-time bus capacity
- 1:56monitoring, and interactive seat
- 1:58selection.
- 1:59Let's moving on to the problem statement
- 2:02and why this service application project
- 2:04must be implement. The existing UiTM
- 2:07campus shuttle service operates under a
- 2:10largely manual boarding system, which
- 2:13results in inefficiencies in queue
- 2:15management and boarding processes.
- 2:18Students are required to physically
- 2:20queue without having accurate
- 2:23information regarding bus arrival times
- 2:26and seat availability. This situation
- 2:30leads to congestion at bus stops,
- 2:32especially during peak hours, which
- 2:34compromises both safety and time
- 2:37efficiency.
- 2:39The absence of a synchronized process
- 2:41system causes uncertainty among students
- 2:45and limits to regulate bus frequency
- 2:48effectively.
- 2:49Manual boarding also makes it difficult
- 2:53to ensure fair seat allocation and
- 2:55real-time monitoring of bus capacity.
- 2:59Now, I will present the opportunity
- 3:02analysis for Purple Line.
- 3:04First, digital coordination allows
- 3:06Purple Line to transform the UiTM Puncak
- 3:08Alam shuttle service into a connected
- 3:11mobility system by synchronizing
- 3:13students and buses.
- 3:15Next, secure access through UiTM
- 3:17credentials and OTP ensures
- 3:20accountability, data security, and a
- 3:23trusted service environment. Then, a
- 3:26data-driven approach enables Purple Line
- 3:28to turn user data
- 3:30into insights, supporting demand-based
- 3:33planning and rapid decisions on bus
- 3:35frequency.
- 3:37Then finally, structured boarding
- 3:39improves commuting through real-time
- 3:41tracking, seat availability, and
- 3:43QR-based verification.
- 3:46Overall, Purple Line enhances
- 3:47efficiency, security, and user
- 3:50experience in campus transportation.
- 3:54So,
- 3:56Purple Line introduces a to-be process
- 3:58model that replaces physical queues with
- 4:01a digital workflow. Students join
- 4:03virtual queues, access real-time
- 4:05capacity and arrival information to
- 4:07avoid congestion which eliminating
- 4:09unnecessary waiting.
- 4:11The core innovative features apply
- 4:13just-in-time service design through
- 4:15digital queuing, advanced booking, and
- 4:18interactive seat allocation. Services
- 4:21are delivered only when needed. This is
- 4:23to prevent overcapacity, improving
- 4:25fairness, and ensuring predictable
- 4:27boarding across campus routes.
- 4:30Technologically, Purple Line follows
- 4:32social technical system theory by
- 4:34integrating user with digital
- 4:36infrastructure. One-time password
- 4:38authentication secures access, GPS
- 4:40enables live tracking, and QR boarding
- 4:43verifications connect with digital
- 4:45reservation to physical boarding
- 4:47operations.
- 4:49To better illustrate this innovation, I
- 4:51will show you the key interfaces of
- 4:53Purple Line.
- 4:55Waiting long hours for buses causes
- 4:56stress, uncertainty, and wasted time for
- 4:59students.
- 5:00Purple Line is designed to help students
- 5:02keep the line and ride with ease.
- 5:05Students may register using their
- 5:07student ID and UiTM email.
- 5:10This dashboard provides quick access to
- 5:12bus booking, schedules, queue status,
- 5:15and travel history.
- 5:17Students may select their preferred
- 5:19shuttle route based on campus locations.
- 5:22Available buses and time slots are
- 5:24displayed in real-time, allowing
- 5:26students to book and avoid peak hour
- 5:28queues.
- 5:30Students choose their seat in advance to
- 5:32ensure fair boarding before the bus
- 5:34arrives.
- 5:35Purple Line ensures smarter, faster, and
- 5:38more reliable campus transportation.
- 5:40Moving on to the details where
- 5:42implementation begins with
- 5:44authentication and security controls.
- 5:47Students verify identity using student
- 5:50ID, UiTM email, and one-time password
- 5:53authentication. This is to prevent
- 5:55unauthorized access, improving data
- 5:57integrity, and establishing a trusted
- 6:00digital environment.
- 6:01The just-in-time booking and seat
- 6:03allocation process allows students to
- 6:05reserve seats digitally based on
- 6:08real-time demand.
- 6:09Each bus is kept at 40 seats to prevent
- 6:13overbooking, shifting waiting online,
- 6:16and reducing congestion.
- 6:18Just-in-time execution is supported
- 6:20through GPS tracking and QR boarding
- 6:23verification. Real-time location data
- 6:25improves arrival accuracy while QR
- 6:28scanning accelerates boarding,
- 6:30reduces delays, and ensures transport
- 6:33services are delivered when required.
- 6:36Moving to the value of position of
- 6:38Purple Line. The system is not just
- 6:40about the buses, it's about a giving
- 6:42time back for student.
- 6:44From a student perspective, Purple Line
- 6:46deliver a time sovereignty with a
- 6:48real-time tracking,
- 6:50accurate ETS, and secure seat
- 6:53allocation. Student no longer need to
- 6:55wait physically at the bus stop. They
- 6:57can stay productive in the classroom,
- 7:00libraries, or hostel until the bus
- 7:02arrive, reducing waiting waste, stress,
- 7:06and uncertainty.
- 7:08From the operational perspective, Purple
- 7:10Line create a process transparency, live
- 7:12demand data, and QR-based boarding,
- 7:15allowing UiTM management to monitor
- 7:17shuttle usage across Laluan A, B, and C.
- 7:21This improve capacity planning, reduce
- 7:24congestion, and speed up boarding,
- 7:26leading to the more efficient operation.
- 7:29Strategically, Purple Line support a
- 7:31service excellent. Accurate OTP
- 7:34authorization ensure only verified
- 7:36student access the service, while the
- 7:38feedback system support continuous
- 7:40improvement aligned with UiTM smart
- 7:43campus vision.
- 7:45Now, we're moving to the market
- 7:46segmentation.
- 7:48The primary segment
- 7:50is the time critical student with tight
- 7:52economic schedule. Real-time tracking
- 7:55help them minimize lateness and plan
- 7:57their movement accurately. The secondary
- 8:00segment is a peak hour commuter.
- 8:03Advance booking and guarantee seat
- 8:06reduce overcrowding and create a safer
- 8:09and more predictable experience.
- 8:11The territory segment include a campus
- 8:14operation and robust users.
- 8:17Administrators use a demand data,
- 8:20optimize shuttle capacity across Laluan
- 8:22A, B, and C. In summary, Purple Line
- 8:27save time for student, improve
- 8:29operation, and enable smarter campus
- 8:32mobility.
- 8:33This slide shows the strategic plan and
- 8:36conclusion for Purple Line at UiTM
- 8:38Puncak Alam.
- 8:39The plan has three phases. Phase one,
- 8:43pilot testing on Laluan A, focus on beta
- 8:46testing and stabilization. Testing OTP,
- 8:49queue logic, and QR boarding during real
- 8:52usage. Phase two, full integration for
- 8:55Laluan B and C, expands the system,
- 8:58dispatch buses based on demand, and
- 9:00monitors route capacity live. And phase
- 9:03three, optimization and feedback loop,
- 9:06use data analytics and service
- 9:07refinement based on usage data and
- 9:10ratings. So, in conclusion, Purple Line
- 9:13transform the shuttle service into a
- 9:15synchronization digital system, reducing
- 9:18congestion and uncertainty through lean
- 9:21management and just-in-time
- 9:23principles. Students gain time
- 9:25sovereignty with real-time tracking,
- 9:28digital booking, and guaranteed sitting,
- 9:31while UiTM management gains operational
- 9:34visibility for better planning and
