OPENING UP about my DAUGHTER ... and rechecking sore cows feet. — Transcript

1. 0:00hello how's it going so today you're
2. 0:02joining us on our Friday because today
3. 0:04is Thursday and we only work a four day
4. 0:06week now which is absolutely fantastic I
5. 0:09got some good things to tell you and
6. 0:10some uh things that are getting me down
7. 0:13that you don't know about or you maybe
8. 0:15do know well depends if youve read the
9. 0:17book or not but things are getting me
10. 0:18down today but yeah you are joining us
11. 0:20at griam who is behind the camera right
12. 0:22now his father's Farm well it's not his
13. 0:25father's Farm but his father has worked
14. 0:27here for years and years and years and
15. 0:28Grand grew up here we've still got eight
16. 0:31or nine cars to do we've done 51 routine
17. 0:34trims so far so we put a couple of
18. 0:36blocks on but not all that many and now
19. 0:39we have the dry car to
20. 0:44do so good stuff good stuff is I am
21. 0:48headed to Edinburgh this weekend was
22. 0:50supposed to be going to New York
23. 0:51actually to do a podcast and New York at
24. 0:54Christmas time would have been
25. 0:55absolutely fantastic but with the crush
26. 0:57breaking down last week we've kind of
27. 0:58got a bit of a backlog and to get from
28. 1:00Scotland directly to New York without
29. 1:02loads of changes and loads of money and
30. 1:04all sorts is an absolute pain in that to
31. 1:07be totally honest so we decided to
32. 1:09cancel it and go to Edinburgh and if
33. 1:10you've ever been to Edinburgh Edinburgh
34. 1:12is fantastic but Edinburgh at Christmas
35. 1:14is absolutely brilliant it really is
36. 1:21right come
37. 1:27on come on
38. 1:34I was wrong there was actually only five
39. 1:36so not too bad at all small girls these
40. 1:39are the dry cows that they're heavily
41. 1:41pregnant and due to give birth within
42. 1:42about the next 6 weeks or so so usually
43. 1:45you're trying to get them
44. 1:46before that time period cuz you don't
45. 1:49really want to be playing around with
46. 1:50them too much when they're heavily
47. 1:51pregnant but these ones are just need a
48. 1:53little tidy up I think there's one lame
49. 1:54one so yeah there's only one lame one
50. 1:57not bad H actually

62. 2:46but it's well well well above frezon at
63. 2:48this time of year normally it's around
64. 2:49zero so it's bit peculiar to be honest

69. 3:23channel before the cows are creatures of
70. 3:25habit and their hering instinct is
71. 3:28really strong
72. 3:31so when you get one cow to go up a race
73. 3:33the rest tend to follow it makes it
74. 3:35miles easier Craig you're supposed to
75. 3:37Mak coffee oh I'll just no help you in
76. 3:39future okay Craig is obviously using a
77. 3:42word their help as a sort of flexible
78. 3:45thing that could mean hinder and could
79. 3:48mean help not really supposed to do
80. 3:51that
81. 3:57right must hard by the way we love music
82. 4:02and when we trim there's always music
83. 4:04playing apart from when we film because
84. 4:07YouTube does not like that and it tells
85. 4:09us off right this is the carrot that I
86. 4:12said was lame and look typically of G's
87. 4:15father it is already being treed so
88. 4:18that'll be quite interesting to see how
89. 4:19that that goes this boot here is in
90. 4:21pretty good shape you can still see the
91. 4:23modeling this one's a little tiny bit
92. 4:25longer and we might as well just widen
93. 4:27this model right up while we've got it

98. 4:51going to Edinburgh we're staying in a
99. 4:52place called The W Hotel which was
100. 4:54actually in these Vlogs not that long
101. 4:56ago when I went to do the audio book so
102. 4:58we're going to go up there just me and
103. 4:59Ashley with the rose of Christmas
104. 5:02shopping well we will we'll do some
105. 5:04Christmas shopping no doubt actually I
106. 5:06know what I'm going to buy Ashley and
107. 5:07it's in Edinburg so that's handy code
108. 5:10yellow it's different is
109. 5:12it but um if you're any of like me which
110. 5:16you're probably not cuz not many people
111. 5:17are like me but this part might resonate
112. 5:19with you my world revolves around food
113. 5:23especially Vacations or trips away
114. 5:25everything revolves around food so we've
115. 5:27booked into an amazing restaurant called
116. 5:29t 2 which is like a Japanese Fusion
117. 5:31place that we absolutely love it's like
118. 5:33sushi but normal food 2 it's brilliant a
119. 5:36place called 6 by NCO which is like a
120. 5:38Fantastical theatrical type place and
121. 5:40it's the wizard of O menu and the Ice
122. 5:43Bar so it will definitely be cold in the
123. 5:45Ice Bar obviously oh look at this
124. 5:47there's red stuff coming out of it
125. 5:49already this is quite a bad one this is
126. 5:51a white line
127. 5:54three so yeah we are going to the
128. 5:56Christmas Market and we're going to go
129. 5:58and stuff our face and uh probably drink
130. 6:00too much too

193. 9:22years not through any fault of my own if

196. 9:2920th birthday so
197. 9:31that's yeah it's pissing all over my
198. 9:33chats uh so yeah she's on my mind every
199. 9:36single day and actually weirdly I've got
200. 9:39a secret YouTube channel that I upload a
201. 9:40video a video to most months to say
202. 9:43hello on a messenger on Facebook and
203. 9:45stuff but I don't know if she sees it or
204. 9:47not but today is quite hard for
205. 9:50me just thinking about it you know I
206. 9:53There's No Malice so I just hope she's
207. 9:55really happy and stuff but I wish I
208. 9:56could tell her that to her face so it's
209. 9:58quite tough when you're at work thinking
210. 10:00about cow's feet but you've got your
211. 10:02daughter on your mind as well but I'm
212. 10:03sure you lot have got loads of problems
213. 10:05as well so yeah the book
214. 10:09is that's partly what the book's about
215. 10:12it's about a lot of other things that
216. 10:13are a lot worse than that but it's
217. 10:17mostly about showing that yes I have a
218. 10:19good life but that's only on the front
219. 10:21of it I don't like being negative on
220. 10:23camera or down because people don't
221. 10:25watch that you don't you don't watch
222. 10:27YouTube to feel somebody else's misery
223. 10:30do you but yeah um so it's a bit of a
224. 10:33struggle today to be honest to pick the
225. 10:34camera up at all Gam kept telling me I
226. 10:37should doing a a member's video didn't
227. 10:39you look out for the man you're horrible
228. 10:42I'm sorry I'm in a bad mood and you're
229. 10:44making me do a video help me yeah I feel
230. 10:48bad but yeah sometimes it it you it
231. 10:51should be easy to pick up a camera and
232. 10:53just do stuff and talk but sometimes

262. 12:59to stay there which guests from where
263. 13:02from YouTube from YouTube hopefully from
264. 13:04YouTube anyway if you want to stay there
265. 13:06she was put in the spot yeah so what she
266. 13:07was basically saying there is we bought
267. 13:09like an old steading which in Scotland
268. 13:11is an old farmyard so really old
269. 13:14buildings about 150 years old they're
270. 13:16covered in Granite they look really
271. 13:17really cool and we're going to
272. 13:18completely renovate them into
273. 13:21three three holiday houses um yeah we
274. 13:25actually bought them about 5 months ago
275. 13:27but we're struggling to get plan
276. 13:29permission for them hopefully we're kind
277. 13:31of making Hayway over that and that's
278. 13:32why I've not said anything but once
279. 13:33they're complete we're going to get some
280. 13:35cows highing cows so you guys can
281. 13:38hopefully come and stay there and uh see
282. 13:40the highing cow so how exciting is that
283. 13:42that's pretty cool isn't it
284. 13:45anyway coffee break over

292. 14:20recheck that was not planned and it's us
293. 14:23again look so she's had a fairly severe

297. 14:33rapidly but I'm going to show you I did
298. 14:35not mean for that to
299. 14:57happen so because that block is still
300. 15:00really nice and intact you can see it's
301. 15:02almost a full height in fact yeah it's
302. 15:04almost a full height here at the heel I
303. 15:06don't need to replace it I don't need to
304. 15:08put a new one on it's still really
305. 15:09firmly in place actually see the little
306. 15:11cuts across the block haven't even worn
307. 15:14away
308. 15:15now here is where we find out if this is
309. 15:19done so this was definitely 4 weeks ago
310. 15:21I can tell that from the amount of wear
311. 15:23that's on that block those
312. 15:25blocks usually last 6 to 8 weeks
313. 15:29and that one has not been on very long
314. 15:32at all for it to have worn that you ever
315. 15:34feel like some's working you so Lo
316. 15:39to yeah a quite small anyway that's the
317. 15:44first time Craig has ever looked down on
318. 15:52me
319. 15:54actually almost healed you can just see
320. 15:57a little bit of redness in there
321. 15:59which is

323. 16:04right in here you can see it's just
324. 16:06slightly open but this whole area has
325. 16:08been open and you can tell that because
326. 16:09this hoorn is so yellow and the serums
327. 16:12coming out of the huorn as it grows is
328. 16:14what turns it
329. 16:15yellow are what turns r r r what turns
330. 16:19it yellow and again this back foot
331. 16:21hardly needs any work whatsoever
332. 16:34I repeat myself on this channel all the
333. 16:37time and I'm just about to do it again
334. 16:40feet mirror each other all the time and
335. 16:42look you can see here the start of a
336. 16:44soul Ela it's been dealt with during her
337. 16:46last trim but you can still see the sort
338. 16:49of remnant of where that problem
339. 16:55was by the way the crush is working
340. 16:58absolutely perfectly again
341. 17:01kvk are very very good at helping you
342. 17:04get through the hard times as well as
343. 17:06the good it was a problem with the
344. 17:08batteries so actually nothing to do with
345. 17:10the kvk just the the batteries itself
346. 17:12and that is not a problem
347. 17:16right next car
348. 17:40so this car was lame last time we were
349. 17:41in which was 4 weeks ago as well I'm
350. 17:44starting to see a theme I told you that
351. 17:46most cars are seen before they go dry
352. 17:48and that these have maybe been missed
353. 17:49and he did a little thing and Jam's dad
354. 17:51who's called Callin what it turns out
355. 17:54he's done as anything that has had a
356. 17:55problem last time he's got out this time
357. 17:57for a little bit of a recheck and that
358. 17:59is how you look after lame cows it's
359. 18:02literally the perfect thing to do right
360. 18:04so you can see oh you can see the
361. 18:06problem here really really clearly it's
362. 18:08quite firm actually so I'm not going to
363. 18:10have to do very much to these part this
364. 18:12part of the feet she's not had a block
365. 18:14on before until that's straight away
366. 18:16because we've had all of the weight off

372. 18:42bit and I wanted to make sure that she's
373. 18:43standing nice and flatly on these feet

375. 18:48the entire Sole and not just this High
376. 18:51outer part but it was high right so you
377. 18:54can see where the problem has been here
378. 18:56and you can see this new ho horn is
379. 18:58growing in but some of it is detached
380. 19:01and that is why these rechecks are so
381. 19:04vitally
382. 19:05important I could have picked this up
383. 19:07and there could have been very little to
384. 19:08see whatsoever but I picked it up and
385. 19:11there is a bit of a problem you see if
386. 19:14it doesn't grow in properly these little
387. 19:16flaps get filled up with muck as these
388. 19:20have look you can see all in there and
389. 19:22then that becomes a problem as

391. 19:26well so this is a quite a good good
392. 19:29example of it a situation where you can
393. 19:31actually get away without using come on
394. 19:34without using a
395. 19:36block so that outer claw has been quite
396. 19:39substantially higher than this inner
397. 19:41claw so we haven't bothered putting a
398. 19:43block on and we've still managed to get
399. 19:46all of the weight away from this cow's
400. 19:52fruit so much so that actually it has
401. 19:56completely healed
402. 19:59and again it has been a relatively
403. 20:01substantial problem I'm not advocating
404. 20:04that you don't use blocks all the time
405. 20:06obviously
406. 20:08oh wow she's really protesting now not
407. 20:13because I'm hurting her but because she
408. 20:15is restrained in a big green machine
409. 20:17that she doesn't want to be restrained
410. 20:18in which makes a lot of
411. 20:22sense
412. 20:24sorry have to be quiet when I'm

414. 20:30weirdly does anybody else do this so
415. 20:33when I'm reversing a truck I have to
416. 20:35turn the music off so that I can reverse
417. 20:38better it literally makes no sense

419. 20:41eyes
420. 20:43obviously but for some reason I feel
421. 20:45like I'm more accurate when everything's
422. 20:47quiet anybody else do

434. 21:24horn but these little raggedy bits are
435. 21:27the bits that form
436. 21:30the cracking hoof horn that's not fully
437. 21:34attached as it regrows right if you give
438. 21:36that a wipe you'll see you can clearly
439. 21:39see where that ulcer is right at the
440. 21:41point of my thumb and it has completely
441. 21:43healed up this is a job well done

445. 22:01to move whatever she is in unless it's
446. 22:03strapped to the ground which obviously

450. 22:10every time we're at every Farm we'd have
451. 22:11to cut the bolts every time we were at
452. 22:12the farm wouldn't

457. 22:29the next video I will show you that old
458. 22:32barn um it's actually two or three barns
459. 22:34joined together it's an Old Mill from
460. 22:36Milling
461. 22:38corn and we are hoping to completely
462. 22:41renovate the whole place now it sits on
463. 22:43an area that's about 3 acres in size so
464. 22:45we've got enough space for a couple of
465. 22:47cows couple of sheep um we're 100% going
466. 22:50to do this so 4 years ago we bought the
467. 22:53house that we live in now and my plan
468. 22:54was to get some animals and it didn't
469. 22:56really work out because it was it just
470. 22:58wasn't the right time we were too busy
471. 23:00we didn't have the right facilities and
472. 23:01all that this is literally the only
473. 23:04reason we bought this place so this is
474. 23:06definitely going to happen so let me
475. 23:10know in the comments whether or not you
476. 23:12guys would want to rent out a barn style
477. 23:16conversion that has highing cows in the
478. 23:18garden that you can feed cuz to me it
479. 23:20sounds pretty much SP on right anyway we
480. 23:23have got three more cows to do and we've
481. 23:25taken up enough of your time today so
482. 23:27we're going to crack on so sorry for the
483. 23:28down bits in this video life is good on
484. 23:31the whole but as with everything there
485. 23:34are little things going on in backround
