- 0:00What I'm about to show you today feels
- 0:01like a literal cheat code [music] to
- 0:03trading. Like you have actually cracked
- 0:05the system. This works for smaller
- 0:07accounts. When you take a loss, it is
- 0:09usually minimal. And it ensures that you
- 0:11are always trading with the trend.
- 0:13[music] Gives you the highest possible
- 0:14upside with the smallest downside,
- 0:17smallest risk. And today, I'm going to
- 0:18break this down with you piece by piece,
- 0:20step by step. By the end of this video,
- 0:22you're going to have a simple,
- 0:23repeatable system [music] that you can
- 0:25use on any chart in any timeframe. Okay,
- 0:27now let's open up TradingView [music]
- 0:29and get right into it. So, this entire
- 0:31system is built on one [music] concept,
- 0:34trend lines. So, it is incredibly
- 0:35important that you understand how to
- 0:37utilize the trend lines. Maybe there's a
- 0:39way that you identify or interpret
- 0:40trends, but we need to make sure that we
- 0:42have the same system across the board so
- 0:44that you can continue to repeat this
- 0:46again and again. Now, if you already
- 0:47know what a trend line is, stay with me.
- 0:49I might have a different way of
- 0:50identifying them and tracking them than
- 0:52you're used to. But, if you don't know
- 0:53what a trend line is, let me give you
- 0:54some quick context while I find some on
- 0:56the chart. Now, when I'm looking for
- 0:57trends on the charts, I use something
- 0:59called a ray tool. Over here on the
- 1:01toolbox to the left, you'll see all of
- 1:02the trend line tools. This is going to
- 1:04be your bread and butter, the ray tool.
- 1:05This one has a point A, a point B, and
- 1:07then extends indefinitely in one
- 1:09direction. You can favorite it, so it'll
- 1:10stay right up here, easy to access. Now,
- 1:12the trend line allows us to identify
- 1:15swing highs or swing lows or the
- 1:18direction and speed in which an
- 1:20instrument is moving. So, when we're
- 1:22drawing trend lines, we're trying to
- 1:23capture as many touch points as possible
- 1:25and identify swing highs for downward
- 1:27trend lines and swing lows for upward
- 1:30trend lines. Where the price has come up
- 1:31higher, created a swing low, continued
- 1:33to move and push higher. So, we've got
- 1:35upward trend lines, we've got downward
- 1:36trend lines. This is just showing us the
- 1:38direction of price movement. Each time
- 1:40it comes up and creates a high, it
- 1:42pushes lower. Each time it creates a
- 1:43high, it pushes lower. This is a lower
- 1:45high, a lower high, and continuing to
- 1:47push lower and lower and lower. For the
- 1:48upward trend, we've got higher lows.
- 1:50Each time price comes down and creates a
- 1:52low, it still pushes back. This is a
- 1:53higher low, creates a low, but it's a
- 1:55higher low, a higher low, a higher low,
- 1:57and continuing to push higher and
- 1:58higher. So, these trend lines allow us
- 2:00to identify the direction of the price.
- 2:03It allows us to also identify the speed.
- 2:05How steep is the trend line? How fast is
- 2:07it trending up? So, the tool allows us
- 2:09to track the price. Essentially, that's
- 2:11what we're trying to do. Okay, so this
- 2:12was the easy part. You know how to draw
- 2:14the trend line, you know how to lock it
- 2:15in, but a trend line on its own is worth
- 2:17nothing. [music] Now, here's the part
- 2:18that most people skip. It's something
- 2:19called top-down analysis. So, I'm going
- 2:21to walk you guys through it, explain
- 2:22[music] how useful it is, why we use it,
- 2:25and how we do it step by step. So, we're
- 2:26going to start by deleting the random
- 2:28lines that we've drawn on the chart, and
- 2:29the first place we'll start. So, to get
- 2:31us in position, we need to start on the
- 2:33monthly time frame, and I'll explain
- 2:34why. So, the monthly time frame gives us
- 2:37as much context as possible. We get to
- 2:39see what your instrument has done from
- 2:40the very beginning, the very beginning
- 2:42when you hear that dinosaur icon, to
- 2:44where the price is at now. Open price
- 2:46action right here. Hard right edge. You
- 2:47get to see all of the context. That's
- 2:49amazing. That's the top. Now, we need to
- 2:50work our way down. Top-down analysis.
- 2:52So, outside of seeing the context of all
- 2:55of its movement, all of the highs it's
- 2:57ever made, the lows it's ever made, we
- 2:59want to bring in this tool that I showed
- 3:02you guys just a moment ago, the ray tool
- 3:03or the trend line. We want to identify
- 3:05trends on the monthly time frame. And in
- 3:07order to do that, we hit the ray tool,
- 3:09just like we did before. For our very
- 3:10first downward trend line, we're using
- 3:12the highest point we see on the screen
- 3:13as our pivot point or a point A. Boom.
- 3:15We just locked it in. Now, we need to
- 3:18lock in the degree or the angle, and
- 3:19this is how. So, you have these few
- 3:21rules to abide by. One, price cannot
- 3:23intersect the trend line. So, when we're
- 3:25drawing our trend lines or identifying
- 3:27these trends and marking them up, we
- 3:28have to make sure the price has not
- 3:30poked through. So, I'll show you what it
- 3:31looks like when price has poked through.
- 3:33If we drew a line right here, it looks
- 3:35amazing. Point A, touch point, touch
- 3:37point, touch point, close enough here,
- 3:38but price has already poked through and
- 3:40intersected completely. So, this would
- 3:42be incorrect for our top-down analysis.
- 3:44So, we need to make sure price has not
- 3:46intersected. This is our very first
- 3:49downward trend line. We followed the
- 3:50rule. Price hasn't intersected. Now, we
- 3:52have another rule. Each trend line has
- 3:54to connect, and that brings me to my
- 3:55next point as to how we do this top-down
- 3:58analysis. So, we're going to identify
- 4:00all of the trends we can in the monthly
- 4:01time frame, but we want to continue
- 4:03marking up trends and moving down time
- 4:05frames. So, we'll identify the trends in
- 4:07the monthly, we'll identify the trends
- 4:08in the weekly, then the daily, then the
- 4:104-hour, then the 1-hour leading all the
- 4:12way up to the 15-minute time frame. But,
- 4:13each trend line has to connect to one
- 4:15another as we work our way down from
- 4:18top-down. So, this is putting all of the
- 4:20price movement that it's ever made all
- 4:22into context leading us up to where the
- 4:24price is at now. So, every time we move
- 4:26down a time frame, we've used the
- 4:28previous higher time frame to give us
- 4:29context for the next, and so on and so
- 4:31forth, leading all the way up to
- 4:32real-time price action. That's the goal.
- 4:34So, we need to draw one more trend line
- 4:36on this monthly time frame before we
- 4:38start working our way down. Now, we need
- 4:39to follow the second rule here, which is
- 4:42each trend line needs to connect to one
- 4:43another. Now, a good rule of thumb for
- 4:44that is each line's previous point B or
- 4:48most recent touchpoint will be your new
- 4:50point A, your new starting point, or
- 4:52your new pivot point. So, this is where
- 4:54this previous trend line's point B was,
- 4:56or last touchpoint. This is now going to
- 4:58be where my new trend line starts, point
- 5:00A here. Now, we're still going to follow
- 5:01the same rules we did for the last one.
- 5:02Make sure price doesn't intersect. Boom.
- 5:05This is as far as we can go. We have
- 5:06just drawn two downward trend lines on
- 5:08the monthly time frame. Amazing. Now, we
- 5:10need an upward trend line. We need to
- 5:11identify bullish and bearish movement,
- 5:13upward and downward trend lines on each
- 5:15time frame. So, now, let's draw our very
- 5:17first upward trend line. Same tool,
- 5:18we're going to use the ray tool. Now,
- 5:20when drawing your first upward trend
- 5:21line, it is the opposite of our
- 5:22downward. So, when we drew our first
- 5:24downward trend line, we were looking for
- 5:25the highest point we see on the screen.
- 5:27For our first upward trend line, we're
- 5:28looking for the lowest point we see on
- 5:29the screen. Boom, right here. Same set
- 5:31of rules. We want to make sure we're
- 5:33trying to capture as many touchpoints as
- 5:34possible, but we don't want price to
- 5:36intersect. So, we can't come up here, we
- 5:38can't use this here. This is the only
- 5:40place we can solidify or lock in our
- 5:42pivot point for the second trend line.
- 5:44Now, we only have one upward trend line
- 5:46for this scenario here on the monthly
- 5:47time frame because price didn't give us
- 5:49any other swing highs or swing lows. We
- 5:51just completed marking up our trends on
- 5:53the monthly time frame, but we're not
- 5:54done. This is called a top-down
- 5:56analysis, so we need to continue working
- 5:57our way down. We're done on the monthly,
- 5:59now we need to move our way to the
- 6:00weekly time frame. So, as you work your
- 6:01way to lower time frames, we're going to
- 6:03start to see more price action and get a
- 6:05little bit more precise with our lines.
- 6:07So, you'll notice as you come into these
- 6:08lower time frames, our lines look a
- 6:09little bit wonky, a little bit off. Each
- 6:11time we go down to a lower time frame,
- 6:13we'll make some slight adjustments.
- 6:14We'll get that a little bit more precise
- 6:15[clears throat] on that low and we'll
- 6:16move this line to be a little bit more
- 6:18precise on that point B. Our downward
- 6:19trend lines look great though. Now,
- 6:20we're going to move our way to the
- 6:21weekly time frame. Now, in the weekly
- 6:23time frame, we need to draw one more
- 6:25downward trend line and one more upward
- 6:26trend line. This is a great tool by the
- 6:28way, this reset chart view. If your view
- 6:31of the charts ever get skewed or messed
- 6:33up or wonky and you start to lose track
- 6:35of what you had going on, you can always
- 6:36come back to this reset. Boom, there we
- 6:38go. And then zoom in and zoom out. Now,
- 6:40we need to come in with a steeper
- 6:42downward trend line and a steeper upward
- 6:43trend line to continue tracking price
- 6:45steeper and steeper, identifying the
- 6:47trends in each time frame. So, when we
- 6:49come in with a steeper upward trend
- 6:51line, we're going to follow the same
- 6:53rules. Each trend line has to connect,
- 6:54we're going to try to capture as many
- 6:55touch points as possible and we don't
- 6:56want price to intersect. Now, in this
- 6:58scenario, we can see that we need to
- 6:59make a slight adjustment because our
- 7:00line is a little bit off. Boom, there we
- 7:02go. Now, we've captured this touch
- 7:03point. So, when drawing our steeper
- 7:05upward trend line, the previous point B
- 7:07or the most recent touch point on the
- 7:08last line will be the new touch point or
- 7:11the point A of our new trend line. Boom.
- 7:15Following the same rule, there we go. We
- 7:16have just drawn our second upward trend
- 7:18line. Now, we need a steeper downward
- 7:20trend line. Okay, previous point B is
- 7:22new point A. Capture as many touch
- 7:24points as possible without price
- 7:25intersecting. We can't go very far with
- 7:27this one. If we come in any steeper,
- 7:28we'll have cut off this price here. But,
- 7:30we can continue to keep going steeper
- 7:32with our downward trend lines. Previous
- 7:34point B is new point A. We're going to
- 7:35try to capture as many touch points as
- 7:36possible without price intersecting.
- 7:38Okay, that is as far as we can go in the
- 7:40weekly time frame. All of the lines that
- 7:41we just drew on the weekly had context
- 7:44from the monthly. We're going to do the
- 7:45same thing for the daily timeframe. So,
- 7:47we just did monthly, we did weekly, now
- 7:49we're moving our way to the daily
- 7:49timeframe. Now, as we're coming into the
- 7:51lower timeframes, remember we'll have to
- 7:52make some slight adjustments because
- 7:54we're just getting a little bit more
- 7:55precise.
- 7:56So, I'm going to make some slight
- 7:57adjustments to these lines here,
- 8:00to this line here, and upper trend lines
- 8:02look great. Okay, for the upper trend
- 8:03line, I can see a steeper upper trend
- 8:05line that we can draw. Previous point B
- 8:07is new point A, capture as many touch
- 8:08points as possible without price
- 8:10intersecting. Now, let's keep going.
- 8:11Let's go from the daily to the 4-hour.
- 8:13We need to make some slight adjustments
- 8:15here, and we can come in even steeper.
- 8:17So, previous point B is new point A, try
- 8:19to capture as many touch points as
- 8:20possible, but don't let price intersect.
- 8:23Now, let's go to the 1-hour timeframe.
- 8:24Okay, now we're in the 1-hour timeframe.
- 8:26We've cleaned up our lines ever so
- 8:28slightly. We've got our point A, we got
- 8:29our point B. Now, let's go to the
- 8:3115-minute timeframe. We're going to zoom
- 8:33out a little bit here and adjust our
- 8:35lines a little bit. This needs to go
- 8:38there.
- 8:39And that needs to go there. Now, we have
- 8:42made it all the way to the 15-minute
- 8:43timeframe. This means we have just taken
- 8:45in all of the context from all of the
- 8:47higher timeframes leading us all the way
- 8:49up to real-time price action right now
- 8:51at this 8216 here. Okay, so we have
- 8:53drawn our trend [music] lines. We've
- 8:55done our top-down analysis. We know what
- 8:56it is, how to do it, and why we use it.
- 8:58These are still just lines. So, now we
- 9:01need to understand how price [music]
- 9:02reacts to these lines, and what do we do
- 9:04when price does? Price is going to react
- 9:06in either one of two ways with our trend
- 9:08lines. It's either going to get to it
- 9:10and respect it, bounce off, get to it
- 9:13and bounce off, or price is going to
- 9:15violate it
- 9:17and poke through and break through. What
- 9:19I'm going to show you guys today is the
- 9:21cheat code to trading when price
- 9:23respects the line. When price gets to it
- 9:26and bounces off. This is called a trend
- 9:28line bounce setup. Now, when we're
- 9:31trading the bounce, that means we're
- 9:32anticipating that the price is going to
- 9:35continue to respect this line that we've
- 9:37drawn. We're anticipating the price is
- 9:38going to come down to the line and then
- 9:40respect. It's going to come down to the
- 9:41line and then continue to push higher.
- 9:42Create these lower highs and continue to
- 9:44move higher and higher. But now, how is
- 9:46this a risk-free bingo card? How does
- 9:48this give us the lowest possible risk
- 9:50scenarios and give us the smallest
- 9:52possible losses? It's because if we're
- 9:55anticipating the bounce,
- 9:56that means we're getting involved when
- 9:58the price is as close to the trend line
- 10:00as possible. So that when it does turn
- 10:02around and move in our favor, we just
- 10:03got involved at the most pivotal moment
- 10:05here where price got to showed us it was
- 10:07respecting and then pushed higher. If it
- 10:09doesn't push higher, this is what I
- 10:11really want to show you. If this trade
- 10:12doesn't work out and it doesn't continue
- 10:14to respect the line, let's say price
- 10:16gets here, we enter our position at the
- 10:18pivotal moment and then price violates.
- 10:21This right here is the smallest possible
- 10:23risk to take on to put us in position in
- 10:26case price was going to push higher.
- 10:28Okay, so we've gone over the idea of the
- 10:31pivot point, when price respects, when
- 10:33it violates. But now I want to show you
- 10:35the exact criteria [music]
- 10:37that gets us into the trade. So, what
- 10:39needs to happen in order for us to get
- 10:41into the trade? Price, at minimum, has
- 10:43to get at or near the trend line.
- 10:45Amazing. So now let me show you this in
- 10:46a real-world example, what price has
- 10:49actually done and how you would be using
- 10:50the strategy in an example like this,
- 10:52which is crude oil on the 15-minute time
- 10:54frame having done your full top-down
- 10:56analysis. Price is heading towards one
- 10:58of our trend lines. Remember, we want to
- 11:00get involved at the pivotal moment when
- 11:02price gets at the line or near the line,
- 11:04close enough to the line. I'm going to
- 11:05use the replay tool to move bar by bar
- 11:08as price reacted or as the way price
- 11:10action actually played out to see where
- 11:12do we get in, how do we take action and
- 11:13get into a trade. So right now, price is
- 11:15heading towards the line. It's moving
- 11:16away from it now. Okay, it's pushing
- 11:18towards the line again. But remember, we
- 11:19don't want to get involved until we get
- 11:21to that pivotal moment where price is at
- 11:24or near the line. It's getting very
- 11:26close. It's getting very close. We're
- 11:28about to hit that pivotal moment here.
- 11:29Boom. Price has just gotten close enough
- 11:31to our line. Now, what does this mean?
- 11:33So, we have just watched price come all
- 11:35the way down to our trend line. This is
- 11:37a very pivotal area. What do we do now?
- 11:39This is our time to take action. So,
- 11:41this is where I like to call this upward
- 11:43line an action line. It will only become
- 11:45an action line when price reacts to this
- 11:47line. Now that price has gotten to it
- 11:48and bounced off, it is our time to take
- 11:50action. This is our entry criteria right
- 11:52here. This is what gets us into the
- 11:54trade. I'm going to get us into our
- 11:56position here. We want to take action.
- 11:57We want to get into a position. We're
- 11:58going to do one contract. We're going to
- 12:00place a buy order, but now where does
- 12:02our stop go? How much are we willing to
- 12:04lose in this position? Do you remember
- 12:06the example that I gave you where we
- 12:07drew out getting in at the pivotal
- 12:09moment and then price violating the
- 12:11line? This is exactly what has to happen
- 12:13in order for us to take a loss if price
- 12:15violates the line. So, if we get into
- 12:17our position right here at this 8180 and
- 12:20the price comes down and violates the
- 12:22line, we will lose $420. Now, if that
- 12:25number sounds big to you, remember we
- 12:26talked about how this setup is geared
- 12:28towards smaller account sizes. If this
- 12:30is too big for you, there is something
- 12:32called crude oil micro, which is 1/10
- 12:35the amount of the mini. So, I want to
- 12:37walk you guys through the exact same
- 12:39trade, but if you were to trade this on
- 12:41the micros. So, we're going to go over
- 12:42here to micro crude oil to the 15-minute
- 12:45time frame. We're going to wait for
- 12:46price to work its way to our line, our
- 12:48pivotal point before we get involved.
- 12:50Boom. Same exact price point here. We're
- 12:52going to get into our same trade here.
- 12:54One contract, market, stop loss. Now, if
- 12:57the price breaks our safety line, we are
- 12:59going to lose $50. A significant
- 13:02difference between the $420 over here,
- 13:04we've got the $50 over here. It could
- 13:06even be $42 depending on how tight we
- 13:09put this stop. If the price violates the
- 13:11line after this pivotal moment, we lose
- 13:14$42. Let's lock in this position. We're
- 13:16in. We're going to lock in the same
- 13:18position in the minis over here. Okay,
- 13:20I'm going to put these side by side so
- 13:22that we can see the same trade play out
- 13:24with someone that has a smaller account
- 13:25size versus someone who can trade the
- 13:27minis has a little bit bigger account
- 13:29size. But the risk, the downside to each
- 13:31one of these is still minimal. All
- 13:33right, in the lower account size
- 13:35scenario, we have already made one to
- 13:37one. We're up $57. We were willing to
- 13:39lose $42. Now, let's go over to the
- 13:41bigger account size. Same scenario over
- 13:42here. We're up $580. We were willing to
- 13:44lose $420. This is just the beginning.
- 13:47We're still not done here. Remember, I
- 13:48also mentioned that this is going to
- 13:50give you the lowest possible downside,
- 13:52but the highest possible upside. We're
- 13:54looking for more than just $57. Same in
- 13:56this scenario, we're looking for more
- 13:58than just $580. We want to get in for
- 13:59this entire trend, this entire movement.
- 14:02So, how long are we going to stay in
- 14:03this position for? We've talked about
- 14:05the line that tells us when to take
- 14:06action. When price gets to this pivotal
- 14:08moment, gets at or near our trend
- 14:10[music] line. That's our entry. That's
- 14:11our action line. But now, when do we get
- 14:13out? How long and how much profit do we
- 14:15want [music] to take? How much can we
- 14:16capture? This is when price violates the
- 14:19line. So, we know as soon as we got in,
- 14:21if price would have violated, we would
- 14:22have taken our $52 loss or our $420
- 14:25loss. But what happens if price keeps
- 14:26going? We're going to continue to move
- 14:28this stop as price moves along our trend
- 14:31line. As price continues to trend in
- 14:33this direction. So, each time price
- 14:35gives us a new swing low or a new pivot
- 14:38point or a new area, we want to move
- 14:40this stop to capture that. If that
- 14:41doesn't make a whole lot of sense, don't
- 14:43worry, we're going to walk through this
- 14:43step by step. So, let's keep going.
- 14:45Right now, we're up $1,000,
- 14:47$500. There was a point in time where we
- 14:49were up a thousand and almost back down
- 14:51to break even within two candles here.
- 14:53The coolest part about that is that we
- 14:55don't have to worry, we don't have to
- 14:56think, are we going to give all this
- 14:57profit back? As long as price respects
- 15:00this upward trend line, we're
- 15:01comfortable. Even when we would just
- 15:02went from a thousand to break even in
- 15:04two candles. We're only anticipating an
- 15:06exit when price violates the line. It
- 15:08doesn't matter if it comes back to break
- 15:09even, if price comes back to the line,
- 15:12we want to see it violate in order for
- 15:14us to close and be done with the trade.
- 15:15So, let's see what this potential upside
- 15:17could be for this trade. We're going to
- 15:18keep going.
- 15:20We're waiting for price to give us
- 15:21another swing low for us to move this
- 15:23stop. Right now we're up $2,660
- 15:27in the minis. Let's go back over to the
- 15:28micros. We saw that same spike within
- 15:31two candles. Price hasn't violated our
- 15:33safety line and boom, we're up $281.
- 15:36Let's keep going.
- 15:40Price just made a big push in our favor
- 15:43and now is kind of consolidating moving
- 15:45sideways. It's starting to work its way
- 15:47back towards our line yet again. That's
- 15:49what we want to see.
- 15:50Right now price has been fluctuating
- 15:52between 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 2,000,
- 15:553,000 for this example here. There we
- 15:56go. We just got a another swing low.
- 15:59Price just got back to another pivot
- 16:01point. This is our moment to take our
- 16:03stop loss and adjust it below this last
- 16:06swing. Now, we just turned our risk from
- 16:08$420 to a profit of 1,500. We just
- 16:12locked in our new stop loss. So, worst
- 16:14case scenario, if price comes back down
- 16:16and violates our line, we take a profit
- 16:19of 1,550.
- 16:21As price continues to create swings
- 16:23along this line, we're going to continue
- 16:25to move this stop loss along this line.
- 16:27So, we just went from a initial loss of
- 16:30420 to a profit of 1,550. Let's do the
- 16:33same scenario over here in these smaller
- 16:35account trade. Price made a big push to
- 16:37the upside and now we can see this kind
- 16:39of continue to move sideways gravitating
- 16:41towards that line.
- 16:46There we go. Price gave us that same
- 16:47swing, that same higher low. We're going
- 16:50to adjust our stop loss to go below this
- 16:52last swing. Okay. So, we're in the same
- 16:54position on either instrument. We've
- 16:57locked in our worst case scenario, which
- 16:59is a profit, but we still want to see
- 17:00the maximum results for this trade, the
- 17:03maximum move, the entire trend. So,
- 17:06we're staying in until price violates.
- 17:08Let's keep going.
- 17:09Now bonus, remember we talked about this
- 17:11pivotal moment when price gets to the
- 17:14line, this is an entry. If you didn't
- 17:16take this position over here, this could
- 17:18have been a second entry, another pivot
- 17:20point. If you missed this one, you could
- 17:22have gotten in here. Same on the left
- 17:23side, same on the right trade over here.
- 17:25This could have been another entry. You
- 17:27would have done it exactly the same.
- 17:28Entry here, if price violated, would
- 17:30have been around that $420. Same
- 17:33scenario for here, would have been that
- 17:34$42. But we're staying in. We want to
- 17:36see this trend play out for its
- 17:37entirety. Okay, price is pushing back to
- 17:40the line
- 17:41and still respecting. Price is pushing
- 17:43back to this line. Are we going to have
- 17:44to get ready to close? Now, as price
- 17:46created these higher lows, we're going
- 17:48to continue to move this stop along each
- 17:50swing low here, locking it in. We're
- 17:52locking in profits every time price
- 17:53swings lower, but continues to respect
- 17:55the line.
- 17:56Okay, price just gave us another swing
- 17:58low. We're taking that stop loss and
- 18:00moving it up here. We adjusted our stop
- 18:02loss yet again to this new pivot point.
- 18:04We're going to continue to stay in as
- 18:05long as price respects. Okay, price
- 18:07created yet another swing. Every time it
- 18:09creates a swing low closer to that line,
- 18:11we're adjusting the stop higher and
- 18:13higher and higher. There we go. Locked
- 18:15it in.
- 18:16Let's keep going.
- 18:18There we go. So, we can still see our
- 18:19entry and where the price is at now.
- 18:20Okay, price created yet another swing
- 18:22low. We're going to adjust that stop.
- 18:24Now, always remember when adjusting the
- 18:25stop, it needs to be in an area where
- 18:28price has to violate the line entirely
- 18:31in order for our stop to be hit. So, you
- 18:32don't want to ever put it above the
- 18:34line. It always needs to be on the other
- 18:35side of the line. That's how we know
- 18:37that the trend is over and price has
- 18:38violated the line. Confirm. Let's keep
- 18:41going.
- 18:42Okay. Now, let's see if this is going to
- 18:44create yet another pivot point and you
- 18:46can see price has just violated the
- 18:48line. Let's zoom in a little bit closer
- 18:49so you guys can see this. We want to see
- 18:51price close on the other side of the
- 18:53trend line for us to manually close our
- 18:55position or for our stop loss to just
- 18:56simply be hit. Let's see out of one of
- 18:58these two scenarios what happens. All
- 18:59right, price just closed on the other
- 19:01side of the safety line. We can close
- 19:02our position manually as we have just
- 19:04seen price violated the line. I'm going
- 19:06to manually close this trade because our
- 19:08line was violated. We are up $4,000
- 19:11exactly. Position closed. Profits locked
- 19:14in. Insane upside. So, this was an
- 19:16entire trade that we got to watch play
- 19:18out from start to finish. Entry here,
- 19:20exit here, and the downside was $420.
- 19:24We just made $4,000 in this scenario. An
- 19:27absolute cheat code to trading. We got
- 19:30in on the trend because price got to a
- 19:31pivotal point. We stayed in to the move
- 19:33even through all of these swings, these
- 19:35highs, these lows, price pushing up
- 19:37high, consolidating, moving sideways,
- 19:39but still respecting the line. until
- 19:41price violated the line that we decided
- 19:44to close this position. I want to finish
- 19:45out the scenario with this smaller
- 19:47account size trade so that we can see
- 19:49both these trades all the way through.
- 19:50All right, same scenario over here. As
- 19:52soon as price violates this line, we're
- 19:54closing our position. Boom. In this
- 19:56scenario, the price hit our stop and we
- 19:58closed out of our position with a profit
- 20:00of $387.
- 20:02Our downside to this small account was
- 20:05$42.
- 20:06We just made $387.
- 20:09This is the highest possible upside with
- 20:11the lowest possible risk we had to take
- 20:13on. So, you guys were able to see start
- 20:14to finish, entry to exit, how much we
- 20:16had to risk, and how we stayed in this
- 20:18trade. So, now I challenge you to do
- 20:19this. You've seen the walk-through.
- 20:21[music] Go to your charts, open up
- 20:22TradingView, any instrument, and I want
- 20:24you to completely clear everything off
- 20:26the chart. Naked chart, just [music]
- 20:27price action. Do your top-down analysis.
- 20:29Identify your trends. Make sure each
- 20:30trend line connects from the higher time
- 20:32frame. Go all the way to your designated
- 20:34time frame. You can choose. [music] You
- 20:35can trade on the 1-hour. You can trade
- 20:37on the 15-minute. You can go all the way
- 20:38down to the 5-minute. But, make sure you
- 20:39can continue to follow those rules from
- 20:41the [music] top-down analysis. But, then
- 20:42you'll know where your trend lines are,
- 20:44wait for price to get to that pivot
- 20:45point, and then enter your position.
- 20:46Make sure you calculate [music] that
- 20:47lowest possible risk, that small loss
- 20:49that you'll take if price violates the
- 20:51line and doesn't end up respecting, and
- 20:53then see it all the way through. So, I
- 20:54challenge you to do that, and then come
- 20:55back to this video, drop a comment, and
- 20:56see how that played out. Was this the
- 20:58actual cheat code to trading? Go try for
- 21:00yourself.
