  1. 0:05hi there welcome to premier presents I

  3. 0:10we are very privileged to have a great
  4. 0:12friend of ours showing to the curl
  5. 0:14Oliver North thank you so much for
  6. 0:16joining us great to be with you again
  7. 0:17thank you for traveling through our home
  8. 0:19here in Nashville headed to Kentucky
  9. 0:21this evening for looking forward to
  10. 0:23engagement that's where we'll find you
  11. 0:25often is on the way to or from a
  12. 0:27speaking engagement I've pulled out a
  13. 0:28few miles in between trips to places
  14. 0:31like Afghanistan and Somalia and Central
  15. 0:33America and some of the other bright
  16. 0:35spots so yeah editor well it nows me my
  17. 0:37first question is I will pretty often
  18. 0:39turn on the TV and see you in full gear
  19. 0:44protective gear whatever it left jacket
  20. 0:46my jacket chasing these young guys
  21. 0:48around with the camera and I think see I
  22. 0:50know that golf exists you're supposed to
  23. 0:52retire when you get the retirement of
  24. 0:54acidic I don't have a set of clubs yet
  25. 0:56but some today so what takes you there
  26. 0:58and well what will motivate you to go
  27. 1:00there thankfully the only beat that I
  28. 1:02have for Fox News is soldiers sailors
  29. 1:04airmen Guardsmen Marines and law
  30. 1:05enforcement I'd I don't have to follow
  31. 1:07politicians around and wait for him to
  32. 1:09say that memorable I don't have to wait
  33. 1:11for Brittany to shave some part of her
  34. 1:13head I keep company with heroes for a
  35. 1:16living and and the wonderful thing about
  36. 1:19it sean is I can see parallels to what
  37. 1:21they do every day of their lives in the
  38. 1:24most difficult and dangerous places on
  39. 1:26earth to what people have to do day in
  40. 1:28and day out in their lives back here so
  41. 1:31one of the great opportunities I have is
  42. 1:33to come out and speak for corporate
  43. 1:35groups that you set up and try to if I
  44. 1:38can bridge the what a lot of people see
  45. 1:40is a divide between the military and the
  46. 1:43rest of society it's not and and I and I
  47. 1:46talked up these remarkable remarkable
  48. 1:49Americans that I have a chance to cover
  49. 1:51you definitely do that and do it well
  50. 1:52what are one or two of those you
  51. 1:54mentioned that there is a bridge that
  52. 1:56connects those the military does such a
  53. 1:57great job great job of training veterans
  54. 2:02leadership teamwork how to work as a
  55. 2:04cohesive team that the qualities that
  56. 2:06make for a great business and I've been
  57. 2:08a businessman I know what it's like to
  58. 2:10hire people I know how hard it is to
  59. 2:11fire people been fired few times myself
  60. 2:14and I also know that
  61. 2:16qualities that it takes to make a profit
  62. 2:18profit is not a four-letter word to get
  63. 2:21the kind of inspiration to your
  64. 2:23employees same kind of thing that makes
  65. 2:26people motivate them to go up a hill
  66. 2:28into enemy gunfire the commitment
  67. 2:30dedication integrity courage and the the
  68. 2:35attitude that it takes to be successful
  69. 2:37in the battlefield almost identical to
  70. 2:41what you've got to do to make a success
  71. 2:43in any business in America any trade
  72. 2:45association and I can see those and I'd
  73. 2:47like to be able to put up on the screen
  74. 2:49form some examples so they can see it
  75. 2:51themselves and also show that at the end
  76. 2:54of the day there's a unique opportunity
  77. 2:56in America unlike anywhere else on the
  78. 2:59planet earth that you can use your
  79. 3:02god-given gifts and talents to make an
  80. 3:05honest living that you can learn from
  81. 3:07your own mistakes that you can dust
  82. 3:10yourself off get back up get on with it
  83. 3:12again and again I see those kinds of
  84. 3:15moments of inspiration every time I'm
  85. 3:17out there that's well said well and I
  86. 3:20would have read all the accolades that
  87. 3:22go before your name before but New York
  88. 3:25Times bestselling author host of war
  89. 3:27stories on fox news commentator there's
  90. 3:30a long list there but a lot of people
  91. 3:33who are watching this may be executive
  92. 3:35director of another prophet or an
  93. 3:37association and quite often they'll say
  94. 3:39hey we need somebody to speak on on
  95. 3:41leadership we need somebody to to give
  96. 3:43us one or two key points that when our
  97. 3:44guys leave here they can go back and
  98. 3:46lead a team or lead a company where one
  99. 3:50or two things that you mentioned the
  100. 3:51leaders that you really feel like you
  101. 3:52mentioned some of those you really feel
  102. 3:54like your key crux points on leaders who
  103. 3:57want to give away don't want to give
  104. 3:58away the end of the speech but look at
  105. 4:00the end of the day everybody with whom
  106. 4:02you have to work I don't say work for or
  107. 4:04work you know you direct but those with
  108. 4:07whom you work have got to be motivated
  109. 4:09to whatever it is the goals and
  110. 4:11objectives of your organization are if
  111. 4:13you don't know them they won't know
  112. 4:15that's so it starts with leadership
  113. 4:17right number two is the the cop that the
  114. 4:20idea of competence and courage and
  115. 4:23integrity those the ideas of courage
  116. 4:27competence and integrity are often found
  117. 4:31equal measure in every person do you
  118. 4:34think about it if you're looking for
  119. 4:36those three qualities in a human being
  120. 4:39and you can find them you will find an
  121. 4:42equal measure those those commodities
  122. 4:44and those who have the most are going to
  123. 4:46rise to the top interesting confidence
  124. 4:49courage integrity yeah three key points
  125. 4:52to look for there you go Colonel I
  126. 4:54mentioned to get this to you our earlier
  127. 4:57i'm watching TV the other night and your
  128. 4:59face pops on the screen as though
  129. 5:01there's colonel on an away game yeah the
  130. 5:03middle of the basketball game that's
  131. 5:04right and I'm expecting you to be a
  132. 5:06promo for another project you're working
  133. 5:09on and it got very foreboding very
  134. 5:11quickly it was a commercial for a video
  135. 5:13game how did that happen I have the
  136. 5:16great pleasure of being a little work as
  137. 5:18a consultant to Activision yeah which is
  138. 5:21the publisher of the treyarch series in
  139. 5:24this particular case it's call of duty
  140. 5:26black ops 2 i've been with them working
  141. 5:30on it now for over a year it's been
  142. 5:31terrific work these folks and just we
  143. 5:34were kicking around some ideas for
  144. 5:36promotion and they do a lot of promotion
  145. 5:38there's a very successful franchise and
  146. 5:40he's why don't you cut us a couple of
  147. 5:43commercials so the one you're speaking
  148. 5:44of is one in which i think it's the one
  149. 5:47that i'm not worried about the guy who
  150. 5:49wants to hijack an airplane I'm worried
  151. 5:52about the guy who wants to hijack oh
  152. 5:56well we did about 45 takes that I should
  153. 5:59make sure we got it just right but
  154. 6:00there's a whole bunch more out there
  155. 6:01like this isn't just a video game this
  156. 6:05is a wake-up call of course is the
  157. 6:09lighting is sudden it's it's
  158. 6:11intimidating to say the least you're
  159. 6:13captured my attention that's the idea it
  160. 6:15definitely works at work hopefully we
  161. 6:17could have maybe a link to that video i
  162. 6:19think it's it's closing in on maybe a
  163. 6:21million hits on YouTube already and it's
  164. 6:23it's gone viral and it's it's a just one
  165. 6:26more well it's been a great experience
  166. 6:28it's been a great experience working
  167. 6:30with and there's some very very bright
  168. 6:32young people it's very realistic it's a
  169. 6:35glimpse at the future and the glimpse of
  170. 6:37the past is how we got there and I hope
  171. 6:41that people realize
  172. 6:44this is the way things could turn out so
  173. 6:46the nice thing about a video game is you
  174. 6:50can alter the outcome and turn it off if
  175. 6:54you can scare you go colonel you'll
  176. 6:57you'll kill me for using this word but
  177. 6:58you're an American Hero my friend in a
  178. 7:00we have been privileged to represent
  179. 7:02colonel 421 almost two decades now it's
  180. 7:05been quite some time didn't have gray
  181. 7:07hair when we started no it's all right

  183. 7:12actually there are some links at the
  184. 7:14bottom of the video there you can click
  185. 7:16to certainly watch some other material

  188. 7:23to us so we can chat about maybe him
  189. 7:25speaking to you to your next event so
