  23. 1:03under the seat for a knife for the first
  24. 1:08time ever in poce some words I don't
  25. 1:11never think about what I was going over
  26. 1:12there's gotta stop details about the
  27. 1:15bloody crime scene that seemed like only
  28. 1:18a killer would know you write about
  29. 1:20removing a glove obviously I must go
  30. 1:23because they found a glove there and
  31. 1:25explosive revelations about an
  32. 1:27accomplice Charlie had followed this guy
  33. 1:30in and he brought the knife those tapes
  34. 1:34were lost until now and I said well you
  35. 1:38think you can kick my ass and I'm em I
  36. 1:39grabbed the knife we're finally going to
  37. 1:42hear the answer to the question that has
  38. 1:44haunted us all what happened on the
  39. 1:47night of June 12 1994 I think everything
  40. 1:50was covered in blood it was horrible
  41. 1:52is this his confession you be the judge
  42. 1:57good evening and welcome
  43. 1:59I'm Soledad O'Brien and tonight for the
  44. 2:01first time ever you will hear Oh Jay
  45. 2:04Simpson put himself at the scene of the
  46. 2:06murders and tell you in his own words
  47. 2:08what he says might have happened that
  48. 2:11awful night mmm I grabbed a knife and
  49. 2:14I'm standing in it's all kind of butt
  50. 2:16and stuff around Oh Jay was acquitted of
  51. 2:19the murders and due to the double
  52. 2:21jeopardy rule of our criminal justice
  53. 2:22system he cannot be tried again for
  54. 2:25these crimes keep this in mind this is
  55. 2:28hypothetical is it a confession to the
  56. 2:31murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown
  57. 2:32Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman or is
  58. 2:36this version only hypothetical as OJ
  59. 2:38maintains you'll have to decide but
  60. 2:41there is no doubt that what he says is
  61. 2:43disturbing often chilling and above all
  62. 2:46unforgettable
  63. 2:48this is one story whole world the Los
  64. 2:57Angeles Police Department
  65. 2:59sought and obtained a warrant for the
  66. 3:02arrest of OJ Simpson for the murders of
  67. 3:04Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle
  68. 3:07Goldman it was a horrific crime that
  69. 3:11stunned the nation in 1994 Nicole Brown
  70. 3:14Simpson the beautiful ex-wife of a
  71. 3:16handsome and charismatic American sports
  72. 3:18hero was found nearly decapitated on her
  73. 3:21front steps in LA's exclusive Brentwood
  74. 3:25neighborhood her friend Ron Goldman lay
  75. 3:27nearby after bleeding to death from stab
  76. 3:30wounds from the beginning there was only
  77. 3:32one suspect in the murders
  78. 3:34Oh Jay Simpson NFL record-breaking
  79. 3:38legend considered by many to be one of
  80. 3:41the greatest running backs of all time
  81. 3:44the trial became a national soap opera
  82. 3:47that delved into uncomfortable questions
  83. 3:49of celebrity domestic violence and most
  84. 3:52of all race even though the prosecution
  85. 3:55offered overwhelming evidence to try to
  86. 3:58place Oh Jay at the scene of the crime
  87. 4:00he was acquitted we the jury in the
  88. 4:03above-entitled action find the defendant
  89. 4:05Orenthal James Simpson not guilty of the
  90. 4:08crime of murder
  91. 4:10[Music]
  92. 4:15he's guilty he's got to live with
  93. 4:16himself man what did you think of the
  94. 4:18verdict I felt that if there's anything
  95. 4:20right with the universe's there's no way
  96. 4:22they can convict me of it Oh Jay sat
  97. 4:24down with the publisher Judith Regan in
  98. 4:262006 for what would be his first and
  99. 4:29only TV interview about his relationship
  100. 4:32with Nicole and his movements on her
  101. 4:34last night alive Regan and Simpson
  102. 4:38agreed that he would write a book about
  103. 4:39the killings that she believed would be
  104. 4:42a best-seller it was called if I did it
  105. 4:45what do you think people are gonna think
  106. 4:47of this book some people say maybe his
  107. 4:50blood money well guess what every book
  108. 4:52that was written about this case was
  109. 4:53Blood Money after the victims families
  110. 4:56protested that OJ should not be allowed
  111. 4:58to profit from the murders the book's
  112. 5:00publication was suspended and this
  113. 5:02interview with Simpson never broadcast
  114. 5:05tonight not only will we show you the
  115. 5:08never-before-seen interview but Judith
  116. 5:10Regan herself is here to tell us what
  117. 5:12she was thinking while sitting across
  118. 5:14from OJ Simpson that night we'll also be
  119. 5:17joined by one of Nicole's closest
  120. 5:19friends eve shakti chen and christopher
  121. 5:22darden famed prosecutor of the criminal
  122. 5:24trial as well as a panel of experts who
  123. 5:27could help evaluate what we are hearing
  124. 5:29from a man who many Americans believe
  125. 5:31committed these gruesome murders and who
  126. 5:34walks free today
  127. 5:35but before we listen to OJ talk about
  128. 5:38the night of the murders we first need
  129. 5:40to hear about the relationship between
  130. 5:42OJ and Nicole let's go back to the
  131. 5:45beginning I want to talk about the first
  132. 5:48time you met Nicole Brown yes where was
  133. 5:50it it was right on ordeal a place called
  134. 5:53a daisy it's a little breakfast place I
  135. 5:55had actually gone there because my first
  136. 5:58wife Margaery and I had just realized
  137. 6:00and decided the night before that it
  138. 6:03wasn't working with us
  139. 6:04Oh J was married to his high school
  140. 6:06sweetheart
  141. 6:07Marguerite Whitley they had two children
  142. 6:10and a third on the way at the time he
  143. 6:13met Nicole he says his marriage was on
  144. 6:15the rocks
  145. 6:17and we had to had a trial separation we
  146. 6:19had lived together till 2 June and we
  147. 6:21realized it wasn't gonna work but she
  148. 6:23told me she was pregnant what do you
  149. 6:26know here we are not you know how could
  150. 6:28you get pregnant attended to that
  151. 6:29whatever and I was so depressed but it
  152. 6:32was our anniversary
  153. 6:33the next day over the weekend would be
  154. 6:35our anniversary so I went into Beverly
  155. 6:36Hills I bought her a coat for them to
  156. 6:38deliver it to her and I ran into a
  157. 6:40friend of mine he said let's have
  158. 6:42breakfast and when we walked in this
  159. 6:43this vision turned to me and said where
  160. 6:46do you want to sit and I really think of
  161. 6:48what a gorgeous girl but I can't deal
  162. 6:52with this so three days later when I
  163. 6:54came back I went back into the Days Inn
  164. 6:56was having lunch with the owner and she
  165. 6:58came back in and I said man I would
  166. 7:01really like to take this girl out and he
  167. 7:03called her over and introduces and no
  168. 7:06said this is one of the good guys and
  169. 7:08you were together
  170. 7:09from then on well yeah well that I had
  171. 7:11to take her before went there party had
  172. 7:12to explain to her that I was married but
  173. 7:16I wasn't married no it sounded like a
  174. 7:17line but after we talked I think she
  175. 7:20believed me and we're together ever
  176. 7:22since you courted her for seven years
  177. 7:25you were together seven years before you
  178. 7:26got married
  179. 7:27well worship yeah well I really wasn't
  180. 7:31looking to get married I'm done most
  181. 7:32guys aren't looking to get married I had
  182. 7:34had three kids you know obviously early
  183. 7:38on in the marriage my third daughter was
  184. 7:39born my third child who passed away a
  185. 7:42couple of years after that but I wasn't
  186. 7:45looking to have kids and then uh after a
  187. 7:47few years she mentioned to me that's you
  188. 7:49know she had been helping me when my
  189. 7:51kids were with us raised my kids and she
  190. 7:53kind of wanted her home which was a good
  191. 7:55point to me at the time but I was still
  192. 7:57kind of hesitant and and that caused a
  193. 8:00lot of friction with us but for the most
  194. 8:02part we had a terrific relationship um
  195. 8:04you write about the night in 1984 with
  196. 8:08the baseball bat you know I don't know
  197. 8:09why this is become such a big deal this
  198. 8:11is what bothered me with the media and
  199. 8:13these these stories is is I hadn't
  200. 8:17committed to to a wedding date I think I
  201. 8:21committed to I gotten engaged but then
  202. 8:23I'm doing what most guys do you know I
  203. 8:25put it off okay well we get married baby
  204. 8:28big summer stuff
  205. 8:29and I had come she had come home and we
  206. 8:32were talking about him we went out front
  207. 8:34like we often did we was talking about
  208. 8:36what it was and I was sitting on the
  209. 8:38front of this school is actually my car
  210. 8:40but I bought it for her and I had a bat
  211. 8:42between my legs and the Y's we're
  212. 8:44talking I'm is you know that it's
  213. 8:46bouncing off the tire and we're just
  214. 8:48talking then at one point I hit it hits
  215. 8:50the rim and she says if you damage that
  216. 8:54you'll have to pay for it and I go well
  217. 8:55if I pay for that I guess I have to pay
  218. 8:56for this too and I kind of hit the front
  219. 8:58of her car you know so she went in the
  220. 9:00house I don't know what she did when she
  221. 9:01went in the house but I mean it's my
  222. 9:03copy but I paid for everything around
  223. 9:05here right she knew he had a volatile
  224. 9:10temper but Nicole Brown married OJ
  225. 9:13anyway hoping that he would mellow once
  226. 9:16they started a family when you got
  227. 9:19married
  228. 9:20when you finally did it after seven
  229. 9:21years were you fully committed and yes
  230. 9:24it was and she wanted her own children
  231. 9:26yeah you write about yeah as a matter of
  232. 9:28fact once we got married as I pointed
  233. 9:30out we went on our honeymoon to get
  234. 9:32pregnant and she got pregnant oh not
  235. 9:33anymore were you happy about that yeah
  236. 9:35yeah at that point yes their first child
  237. 9:40was a girl Sydney and Nicole basked in
  238. 9:43motherhood but for OJ it meant having to
  239. 9:46share his wife's attention
  240. 9:50so Nicole has Sydney yes what kind of a
  241. 9:53mother was she cuz you write about this
  242. 9:55a lot she was almost too attentive that
  243. 9:58you can be too attentive and what we
  244. 10:01couldn't get it to go anywhere you know
  245. 10:02couldn't go out to Zdenek cuz she
  246. 10:04couldn't leave the kids and it became a
  247. 10:06problem I I had worked with Judy to
  248. 10:09brown Nicole's mother weird we had come
  249. 10:11up with all kind of schemes to try to
  250. 10:14get Italy the kids you know and I I said
  251. 10:16we just need a weekend and go somewhere
  252. 10:18you know and it was just it was almost
  253. 10:20impossible if we went out to dinner
  254. 10:21she'd be calling back
  255. 10:23so she was totally involved in the kids
  256. 10:25like she was a terrific mom you write in
  257. 10:28the book that Nicole changed after your
  258. 10:30son Justin was born yeah in what way did
  259. 10:33she change but she always had a thing
  260. 10:36about her weight
  261. 10:37and that became all-consuming things
  262. 10:42right
  263. 10:43her mother the first advice her mother
  264. 10:45gave me the first night we met was OJ
  265. 10:48don't let her put on weight she's
  266. 10:49miserable if she puts on weight so that
  267. 10:53that became a major major thing she had
  268. 10:58heard rumors of me having a fair
  269. 11:01something which unfortunately was true
  270. 11:03and that didn't help the situation at
  271. 11:06all
  272. 11:07the first time we were ever apart was
  273. 11:09when I went back to New York that fall
  274. 11:12for NFL I've visited back and forth I
  275. 11:14didn't know it at the time but she kind
  276. 11:18of had a fling herself you know and you
  277. 11:20also had your fling snow Eve can I get
  278. 11:27you a tissue
  279. 11:28yes please we grab a tissue guys what
  280. 11:30does this make you cry just the kids how
  281. 11:34much she loved the kids did she want to
  282. 11:36be a mom Oh Cassius and she was such a
  283. 11:40great mom and you know just to think
  284. 11:42that the the thing she would have wanted
  285. 11:45the most was to have seen them grown up
  286. 11:47grow up
  287. 12:00Nicole was an amazing mom and I think
  288. 12:03I'm emotional because she would have
  289. 12:07loved to have watched her kids grow up
  290. 12:09more than anything else in the world
  291. 12:12what do you make of his demeanor in that
  292. 12:14opening part of the interview I think
  293. 12:17he's being manipulative and he's trying
  294. 12:19to create a story where he's okay in
  295. 12:26chasing after this 18 year old so oh
  296. 12:28yeah it was just the night before when
  297. 12:30Marguerite and I decided to split up I
  298. 12:33doubt that's true but he's constructed
  299. 12:36that in his own mind to justify the fact
  300. 12:40that he's about to pursue an 18 year old
  301. 12:43girl and he's still a married man and
  302. 12:45his wife is pregnant it's hard it's hard
  303. 12:48to think that this wonderful kid could
  304. 12:52end up in a grasp of you know someone
  305. 12:55who just literally swept her away from
  306. 12:57from us Rita Smith joins us she was the
  307. 13:02former executive director of the
  308. 13:03National Coalition Against Domestic
  309. 13:04Violence for more than 20 years with
  310. 13:07your experience around domestic violence
  311. 13:09what are the things that you saw in that
  312. 13:11interview that stuck out to you well I
  313. 13:13think the thing that has always been
  314. 13:16clear to me about this particular
  315. 13:18tragedy is that while Simpson was a very
  316. 13:23skilled very talented football player he
  317. 13:25was nobody special when it came to being
  318. 13:27a better
  319. 13:27he was like every other better I've ever
  320. 13:29heard about he doesn't say it but the
  321. 13:32bat actually was used to bash in the
  322. 13:34windshield and by some reports Nicole
  323. 13:36was in the car when he was bashing in
  324. 13:39the windshield
  325. 13:40subtle and not-so-subtle forms of
  326. 13:43violence are used to continue to keep
  327. 13:46control over their victim so him just
  328. 13:49bouncing the bat off the tire initially
  329. 13:52was a subtle message I am in charge I
  330. 13:56will determine the framework for this
  331. 13:58relationship I will decide what happens
  332. 14:00when it happens you will not or you will
  333. 14:04die
  334. 14:04Chris your four sons for him is just so
  335. 14:07cavalierly say these things as if it's
  336. 14:09nothing I don't know why
  337. 14:10buddy's upset about this why is this a
  338. 14:12big deal you know she was almost too
  339. 14:16attentive to the kids how can your wife
  340. 14:18be too attentive to your children and
  341. 14:21when I read about the baseball bat
  342. 14:25incident and we talked to the officer
  343. 14:27that that responded that's what I knew
  344. 14:32that's when I knew we we had the right
  345. 14:34guy why why did you know at that moment
  346. 14:36because he terrorized her he sent her a
  347. 14:39very clear message he is giving her a
  348. 14:41preview the rest of her life or perhaps
  349. 14:45even the end of it it was never gonna be
  350. 14:48easy marrying one of the most famous
  351. 14:50since sought after men in America Nicole
  352. 14:54wanted Oh Jay to regard her as an equal
  353. 14:57by New Year's Eve 1989 they had been
  354. 15:01married for four years for the world
  355. 15:03they were a glamorous couple living a
  356. 15:06charmed life they certainly didn't show
  357. 15:10it she was a celebrated sports
  358. 15:12commentator for the NFL on NBC and the
  359. 15:18face of hurts and there was his
  360. 15:23blossoming career as an actor in movies
  361. 15:26and on television but behind closed
  362. 15:29doors The Simpsons marriage was
  363. 15:31tumultuous
  364. 15:33talk us through what happened on New
  365. 15:37Year's Eve 1989 and what did to me
  366. 15:42I am when I look back in my life other
  367. 15:43than the deaths of my loved ones along
  368. 15:47with Nicole my daughter my mom I always
  369. 15:49said it was the most depressing and sad
  370. 15:52night of my life
  371. 15:53because we have been to a New Year's
  372. 15:56party we're a home we were both you know
  373. 15:59so intoxicated we were very affectionate
  374. 16:02but somehow in the middle of this
  375. 16:03affection she asked me about about some
  376. 16:08earrings that night The Simpsons had
  377. 16:11been partying with OJ's friend the pro
  378. 16:14football star Marcus Allen and his then
  379. 16:16fiancee Katherine OJ says it was a
  380. 16:19comment from Katherine that made Nicole
  381. 16:21suspect he was cheating turned out she
  382. 16:24had misunderstood Marcus Allen's fiance
  383. 16:27Katherine yet maybe I had bought Nicole
  384. 16:30him some diamond earrings but since she
  385. 16:32didn't get them see I obviously bought
  386. 16:34diamond earrings from someone else now I
  387. 16:36didn't notice and - after that night
  388. 16:37because other than being very pushing me
  389. 16:41offer and going out the room and yelling
  390. 16:44and screaming she wouldn't say what it
  391. 16:46was about except something about the
  392. 16:48earrings and I locked her out of the
  393. 16:49room and somehow she finds that can't
  394. 16:51come back in the room and I threw her
  395. 16:54out and I really threw her out with no
  396. 16:56concern for her well-being I mean she
  397. 16:58got physical with me and obviously I'm
  398. 17:00bigger I got more physical with her
  399. 17:02which I shouldn't have done historically
  400. 17:04I just leave and I didn't just leave and
  401. 17:07a little later my housekeeper came and
  402. 17:11told me that the cops were outside and
  403. 17:13the one thing that hurts me as much as
  404. 17:17anything in this you know besides been
  405. 17:19considered by some a murderer is just
  406. 17:25being a batter police arriving at the
  407. 17:29scene described a bloody and terrified
  408. 17:31Nicole hiding in the bushes
  409. 17:33she ran toward them screaming
  410. 17:35that Oh Jane is going to kill her her
  411. 17:38sister took photos documenting Nicole's
  412. 17:40injuries it was one of multiple
  413. 17:43occasions that police responded to
  414. 17:45Rockingham for a domestic disturbance
  415. 17:47this time Oh Jay would be charged with
  416. 17:50spousal abuse and sentenced to 120 hours
  417. 17:53of community service she had bruises on
  418. 17:58her curves in her face no neck sort of
  419. 18:00because which way to consistent with the
  420. 18:03arrest on her person she's calling
  421. 18:05anybody knows there was a very physical
  422. 18:07person a very confrontational person who
  423. 18:10had gotten into her she if I said you
  424. 18:12know it bounces at clubs and stuff I
  425. 18:15made no excuses I just started but I
  426. 18:18make no excuses about my reaction Nicole
  427. 18:23a minute that she was the one that
  428. 18:25initiated all of it but still I was the
  429. 18:27man I shouldn't have reacted the way I
  430. 18:29reacted no sorries drink of course I was
  431. 18:32sorry for that I'm responsible for what
  432. 18:34I did you know I got physical I was
  433. 18:37wrong
  434. 18:37Nicole ed admitted that she initiated it
  435. 18:40and somehow I came out of all of that
  436. 18:42because of that night as the poster boy
  437. 18:44of an abuser
  438. 18:46what's the prosecution used against me
  439. 18:49with their whole total crap about them
  440. 18:52coming to my house eight times cops had
  441. 18:54been there for eight times which
  442. 18:56obviously was not true
  443. 18:59lots to dig in there let's start with
  444. 19:01the prosecution since he ends those
  445. 19:03comments with the prosecution yes the
  446. 19:05police had been to his house multiple
  447. 19:07times we located police officers who had
  448. 19:11responded to DV calls at the house and
  449. 19:13hadn't even written a report
  450. 19:15I mean OJ created this environment where
  451. 19:17you know cops could just stop by and
  452. 19:19have a cup of coffee police officers
  453. 19:21become his house and and literally you
  454. 19:23know party and they just sort of hang
  455. 19:25out no police officer was really
  456. 19:28interested in arresting OJ Simpson for
  457. 19:30abusing Nicole how significant was this
  458. 19:34New Year's Eve incident as you were
  459. 19:36building the case well Nicole left for
  460. 19:42us a diary notes photographs she
  461. 19:46documented the abuse my sense
  462. 19:49that she knew she was going to die and
  463. 19:52she wanted to make sure we know who
  464. 19:55killed her how many instances does she
  465. 19:58document that you found seven or eight
  466. 20:01as I recall and each incident becomes
  467. 20:05more violent than the last one we missed
  468. 20:08a half-a-dozen opportunities to save her
  469. 20:11life Eve he says she is physical
  470. 20:17she's confrontational she was the one
  471. 20:21who was hustling I've never known Nicole
  472. 20:25to be a person that lost her anger if
  473. 20:31anything she was as I've said before she
  474. 20:33tended to get quiet if she got upset she
  475. 20:38was not a confrontational person you
  476. 20:40know she was just battling for her life
  477. 20:44coming up he never took the witness
  478. 20:47stand in his criminal trial but tonight
  479. 20:50for the first time Oh Jay Simpson puts
  480. 20:53himself at the scene of the crime you
  481. 20:55get into a fight Nicole comes out a
  482. 20:57verbal fight and explains in his own
  483. 21:00words what might have happened the night
  484. 21:02of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron
  485. 21:04Goldman's murderer this guy kind of got
  486. 21:07into a karate thing and I said well you
  487. 21:10think you can kick my ass and I remember
  488. 21:11I grabbed the night
  489. 21:13it's hard for me to describe it Teli I
  490. 21:15don't think any two people could be
  491. 21:19murdered the way they were without
  492. 21:21everybody been covered the flood is this
  493. 21:24a confession you write about removing a
  494. 21:27glove before taking the knife you know I
  495. 21:30had no conscious memory of doing that
  496. 21:32but obviously I must go because they
  497. 21:34found a glove there you decide it's all
  498. 21:39coming up tonight
  499. 21:45welcome back to this extraordinary
  500. 21:48television event tonight you are hearing
  501. 21:51OJ Simpson from a never-before-seen
  502. 21:53interview he did in 2006 with publisher
  503. 21:57Judith Regan I'm responsible for what I
  504. 21:59did I got physical I was wrong
  505. 22:02Nicole ed admitted that she initiated it
  506. 22:04and somehow I came out of all of that
  507. 22:06because of that night as the poster boy
  508. 22:08of an abuser
  509. 22:10the Simpson marriage was turbulent from
  510. 22:12the beginning and things seemed to go
  511. 22:14from bad to worse following the violent
  512. 22:22New Year's Eve incident life went on
  513. 22:25there were family trips Christmas
  514. 22:28celebrations and an expensive renovation
  515. 22:31of their Rockingham home but Nicole's
  516. 22:34friends and family say she had reached a
  517. 22:36breaking point after years of physical
  518. 22:39abuse and infidelity and in January 1992
  519. 22:42she told AJ she wanted a separation she
  520. 22:47didn't really want to want a divorce she
  521. 22:49just wanted to separate and I pushed it
  522. 22:51I said no we're gonna get lawyers
  523. 22:53because we'll have at least 10 months to
  524. 22:56decide if it's gonna become a divorce or
  525. 22:58not if we want to change our mind we
  526. 23:00will but I'm not going to go through ten
  527. 23:02months and then decide to get a divorce
  528. 23:04and go to ten more months Nicole rented
  529. 23:08a four-bedroom house for herself and the
  530. 23:11children on Gretna Greenway half a mile
  531. 23:14from the home she had shared with OJ
  532. 23:16on Rockingham Avenue when she asked for
  533. 23:19the separation in 1992 you write in the
  534. 23:21book I felt like I'd been kicked in the
  535. 23:24jockey it was absolutely shocking her
  536. 23:27and her mother had been to New York a
  537. 23:29few weeks before that she had talked
  538. 23:31about how happy she was she had gotten
  539. 23:32her body completely batching is looking
  540. 23:34great she was finally wearing all her
  541. 23:36fancy stuff well I realized of course it
  542. 23:44hurts I didn't think it would happen and
  543. 23:46for two or three months I pursued her to
  544. 23:48know him until I saw her with another
  545. 23:51guy and at that point what are you gonna
  546. 23:52do a girls
  547. 23:53another guy Oh Jay had hoped they would
  548. 23:58eventually reunite but with Nicole
  549. 24:00dating other men he didn't contest her
  550. 24:03when she filed for divorce just two
  551. 24:05months after separating in divorce court
  552. 24:08there was testimony about the couple's
  553. 24:10history of domestic violence one of
  554. 24:13Nicole therapists said it's no secret
  555. 24:15Nicole was battered regularly all the
  556. 24:17time how do you respond to that well
  557. 24:19Nicole made it clear doing our divorce
  558. 24:21under oath I might add that this lady
  559. 24:24was crazy she had told minutes ladies
  560. 24:26crazy she wants me to say these things
  561. 24:27about you and she wouldn't do it that's
  562. 24:30why she wouldn't take the stand at our
  563. 24:32divorce because they wanted her to say
  564. 24:34these things to get more money in the
  565. 24:37divorce and what people don't realize
  566. 24:38that under oath during her deposition
  567. 24:40when they asked if I had ever been
  568. 24:41physical with her and this is at a time
  569. 24:43she's trying to get in my pocket and
  570. 24:45this is at a time she's been advised say
  571. 24:47this and it's gonna help but she
  572. 24:50wouldn't lie that's a great thing she
  573. 24:51wouldn't lie about it and she told him
  574. 24:54under oath that that was one incident
  575. 24:56that I was physical with her we can't we
  576. 24:58like to do nice justice you wouldn't lie
  577. 25:01yeah so we're gonna lie in front of me
  578. 25:03and on the stand
  579. 25:04we know that afraid not gonna be afraid
  580. 25:06of what happened next showed Nicole's
  581. 25:09fears may have been well-founded even as
  582. 25:13the couple waited for their divorce to
  583. 25:14be finalized
  584. 25:15Nicole's close friends say OJ began
  585. 25:18stalking her one incident occurred while
  586. 25:22she was on a date with Keith islam's
  587. 25:23which the owner of Mezzaluna a popular
  588. 25:26local restaurant you write in the book
  589. 25:29about Keith and that that night tell me
  590. 25:32that scene and what happened a lot of
  591. 25:34this I didn't find out into after right
  592. 25:36from her closest friends after my trial
  593. 25:40even glad to see these people right we
  594. 25:45had once in awhile seen each it combine
  595. 25:48house and so it would like we didn't
  596. 25:49have relationship relations in the early
  597. 25:51part of our separation so I hadn't run
  598. 25:54into her which they tried to say was
  599. 25:57stalking because her and some friends
  600. 25:59were at a opening of a restaurant I was
  601. 26:01there with like 16 people so I'm
  602. 26:03stalking you I'm stalking you would what
  603. 26:05my crew
  604. 26:06you know we're all there too you know
  605. 26:08and I saw her and I went over and spoke
  606. 26:10to her in her group then I went out to
  607. 26:13with my group to a party but on the way
  608. 26:14home I'd say let's see if she's home
  609. 26:16because if she's still up
  610. 26:17I don't know late she stayed out no no
  611. 26:20maybe I can get in any of it as I
  612. 26:27approached her front door she has a
  613. 26:29window right along the walkway there I
  614. 26:32can hear something and I can see
  615. 26:35movement and when I look I can obviously
  616. 26:37see she was involved in something I
  617. 26:38don't know who is with or what and I get
  618. 26:41the door and left when you knocked on
  619. 26:42the door I just hit them to be alert be
  620. 26:46aware that somebody's around and maybe
  621. 26:49they move or something that's why I
  622. 26:50didn't look I just hit the door twice
  623. 26:52and left it's funny I realized when I
  624. 26:55got home I maybe for the first time
  625. 26:58since we separated I slept like a baby
  626. 26:59it's weird it's really weird I think
  627. 27:02what you do you worry so much about
  628. 27:04something like this happening it's what
  629. 27:07it's that's what had me worried that's
  630. 27:09what I didn't want to have that's what I
  631. 27:10couldn't picture at night would make me
  632. 27:12wake up and I was reading all of these
  633. 27:14books about how to heal a broken heart
  634. 27:16and and from that moment all knew I was
  635. 27:18fine with it
  636. 27:19the next morning Oh Jay returned to
  637. 27:22Nicole's house to confront her in the
  638. 27:25presence of her lover here's how he
  639. 27:27describes the conversation but the next
  640. 27:30day we talked about it and that's when
  641. 27:32you know we had talked we had promised
  642. 27:34each other when we separated that one of
  643. 27:36us was gonna get involved with anybody
  644. 27:37we would alert the other right she said
  645. 27:39it was a mistake we had been drinking
  646. 27:41and that got that done and I said well
  647. 27:42why did you tell me that this was the
  648. 27:44nature of your relationship with this
  649. 27:46guy Jim Clemente joins us he's retired
  650. 27:49FBI Supervisory Special Agent and a
  651. 27:52profiler and also a former prosecutor
  652. 27:55for New York City law department it's
  653. 27:57nice to to have you with us okay he
  654. 27:59starts by saying almost it's ridiculous
  655. 28:02they called it stalking and then goes on
  656. 28:04to specifically describe a stalking
  657. 28:07incident right and then he goes on to
  658. 28:09say that well if I was stalking her I
  659. 28:11was doing it with my crew exactly
  660. 28:13because you know how to cover your
  661. 28:14tracks you know there was that happen to
  662. 28:16be a window there and I
  663. 28:18accidentally looked in and there was
  664. 28:19something going on I didn't even look he
  665. 28:21saw very intimate details which he then
  666. 28:24told Nicole I know because I saw you
  667. 28:29doing this doing what having sex engaged
  668. 28:32in a sexual act
  669. 28:33Judith there's a moment where he says I
  670. 28:36hit the door and you say you knocked on
  671. 28:38the door and he said I hit the door and
  672. 28:40I was curious I felt like you almost
  673. 28:43gave him an out to say not I feel that
  674. 28:46he hangs himself on every word I didn't
  675. 28:48have to do anything I just had to sit
  676. 28:51there ask him a question not appear to
  677. 28:54be judgmental and the way he describes
  678. 28:56it gives it away were you worried due to
  679. 29:00that that if you push back he might just
  680. 29:02get up and go oh he wanted to go he
  681. 29:04wanted to go and he would have left and
  682. 29:06they he would not have opened up and he
  683. 29:08started actually showing his true colors
  684. 29:10have you seen the interview I haven't
  685. 29:13seen the interview never ever no one has
  686. 29:16seen these this interview before
  687. 29:19obviously OJ Simpson had nothing to do
  688. 29:22with this project he was not part of it
  689. 29:25editorially not part of it was not paid
  690. 29:27to be part of it in any way shape or
  691. 29:29form I'm curious what you think his
  692. 29:32reaction will be when he sees this
  693. 29:34interview that he did with you Judith
  694. 29:36back in 2006 you gonna hate it
  695. 29:39he's gonna hate it he's gonna hate
  696. 29:43Nicole was actively dating and so was OJ
  697. 29:47he had women coming and going including
  698. 29:49the day after catching Nicole with
  699. 29:51someone else
  700. 29:52the next day is I called a friend of
  701. 29:57mine or a whining tropic girl that I had
  702. 29:59met from the past and quite run into and
  703. 30:01she said I heard you and your wife were
  704. 30:03a pardon I said well sorta and I said
  705. 30:05well I'll call you and I called her
  706. 30:10finally any of that she came over and we
  707. 30:15were upstairs and there was a somebody
  708. 30:19at my housekeepers say Marcus captain
  709. 30:21they're at the door they have been
  710. 30:23trying to fix me up with this one model
  711. 30:24and she was out of town but they had
  712. 30:27brought her best friend over to talk to
  713. 30:29me when I walked downstairs was Paula
  714. 30:30Bob
  715. 30:31Paul egg was shocked when the girl came
  716. 30:33down the girl she said was beautiful but
  717. 30:35her and I just hit it off I mean we just
  718. 30:37hit it off and we spoke on the phone
  719. 30:39because she traveled a lot for a month
  720. 30:40and about a month later we really became
  721. 30:42involved and Paula Barbieri would become
  722. 30:47OJ's on and off girlfriend for the next
  723. 30:49two and a half years staying with him
  724. 30:52throughout the murder trial but he says
  725. 30:56that even as he got serious with Paula
  726. 30:58he never stopped talking to Nicole what
  727. 31:02happened during that time you start
  728. 31:04dating Paula and you write about
  729. 31:06Nicole's reaction to your dating Paula
  730. 31:09it was funny because she was dating
  731. 31:11various people and she would call me and
  732. 31:15talk to me about it hey you know it just
  733. 31:17it started to reach a point where it
  734. 31:19became irritating it became a problem
  735. 31:21because one minute she'd called me and I
  736. 31:24give her advice and then then she'll
  737. 31:26call out of the blue because of
  738. 31:27something real stupid and give me a hard
  739. 31:28time right so I had made up my mind that
  740. 31:31I really didn't wanted to call me unless
  741. 31:33it had to do with the kids it was kind
  742. 31:36of irritating Nepal also to have your
  743. 31:39why you talking ex-wife about our
  744. 31:41relationships Paulie you just say why
  745. 31:43are you talking to her about her
  746. 31:44boyfriends she got pregnant during that
  747. 31:47period of time and call me not to ask
  748. 31:49what to do but I think she just needed
  749. 31:50somebody to talk to
  750. 31:51did you feel at that time that you still
  751. 31:54had love for her affection for we're
  752. 31:56still in love so yeah I had been with
  753. 31:58her at that time for what 14 15 years I
  754. 32:01felt she was the love of my life even
  755. 32:03though we were splitting she was the
  756. 32:05love of my life and I never really
  757. 32:07thought I never even really thought it
  758. 32:09was over
  759. 32:10even after we split the last time you I
  760. 32:12knew her and I would always have this in
  761. 32:14our lives that we would cross you know
  762. 32:16just was the nature of our relationship
  763. 32:18you said that she got pregnant was she
  764. 32:20pregnant by you at the time oh no no no
  765. 32:23whoever she was dating I don't say the
  766. 32:25guys name cuz I don't know for sure but
  767. 32:27that upset you no no I'm even wonder why
  768. 32:30she callin - oh me know now you write
  769. 32:33something I didn't need to know at that
  770. 32:35time Paul and I was really sort of
  771. 32:38figuratively ruined written off into the
  772. 32:40sunset Oh J says to appease Paul
  773. 32:44and focus exclusively on their new
  774. 32:46relationship he cut off all contact with
  775. 32:49Nicole Thomas we living in New York half
  776. 32:52the year and I happen to be in LA and
  777. 32:54the phone rang and I picked it up was
  778. 32:57her and I had successfully avoided her
  779. 32:58for a month and I have too much right
  780. 33:00and she says hi and I hey how you doing
  781. 33:03and why why you avoiding me that's
  782. 33:04another it's not that I'm avoiding I
  783. 33:06just don't want to kid stuff and she
  784. 33:08said she needed to speak to me and I
  785. 33:10finally said okay speak no I need to
  786. 33:14talk to you to speak to you and I said
  787. 33:15you know look let me call you back
  788. 33:18I gotta take this other call which was
  789. 33:20no call I went back to sleep
  790. 33:21shortly after that my kids ran into the
  791. 33:24house and ran in and gave me a hug and
  792. 33:26gave me a letter as well as tapes of our
  793. 33:28wedding and ran out to their their
  794. 33:31playground that I had built for him in
  795. 33:32the front and when I went out you know
  796. 33:34to be with the kids she was there so I
  797. 33:37figured I can't keep avoiding her
  798. 33:39so I went over and say okay what do you
  799. 33:42want to do let's take a walk so you know
  800. 33:45two three steps she said I want to come
  801. 33:46home you know mystery I love you and I
  802. 33:48was like how could you love me save me
  803. 33:51we barely seen each other in the last
  804. 33:52eight nine months and what you love me
  805. 33:55so I never told you I didn't love you I
  806. 33:57said yeah but you said you weren't in
  807. 33:58love with me I'm sure a lot of guys have
  808. 34:00heard this right and it made no sense
  809. 34:02but I kind of let her know that I wasn't
  810. 34:04interested in getting back together but
  811. 34:06I did think we should spend time
  812. 34:08together with the kids you know which I
  813. 34:11would do when Paul was I right Oh Jay
  814. 34:16claimed it was for the kids that he and
  815. 34:18Nicole began to spend more time together
  816. 34:20but sometimes just the two of them went
  817. 34:23out alone he recalls one evening that
  818. 34:26would change everything she was alone
  819. 34:29and she looked lonely and I said let's
  820. 34:31go have a bite eat I was telling her
  821. 34:32about Marcus Allen's fiancee Catherine
  822. 34:34who
  823. 34:36like get mad I was hosting their wedding
  824. 34:38at my house and the cold was crying and
  825. 34:40then it got to the point I said well it
  826. 34:42can't be that sad right and she said
  827. 34:45that Marcus was not my friend I didn't
  828. 34:48quite understand what she was saying and
  829. 34:50it kind of Donald I said it something
  830. 34:51happened with you and Marcus and she
  831. 34:53says yes and I said check kinda check
  832. 34:56please
  833. 34:57when I asked her why did you tell me
  834. 34:59this she said well he keeps calling he
  835. 35:01won't leave me alone and I said what
  836. 35:02threatened to tell Kathryn threatened to
  837. 35:05tell Kathryn how did you feel about
  838. 35:07Marcus Allen this is your friend well
  839. 35:09Marcus came over and when he came back
  840. 35:11in town and apologized
  841. 35:13my lawyers were very upset with me that
  842. 35:15I hadn't told him that because they said
  843. 35:18these guys are trying to paint you as a
  844. 35:19jealous crazy guy and and did this
  845. 35:24really happen I said yeah it happened
  846. 35:25you know everybody knew what happened
  847. 35:27and the coast best friends knew what
  848. 35:28happened to this day Marcus Allen denies
  849. 35:32that he ever slept with Nicole
  850. 35:34but OJ insists that he did how did that
  851. 35:38I wasn't married to her I thought it was
  852. 35:41wrong because she had always been really
  853. 35:43honestly she had always been the moral
  854. 35:46compass of our group of friends I was a
  855. 35:48little baffled and then that night
  856. 35:50actually after I dropped her off
  857. 35:52something really kind of happened that
  858. 35:54night that started my downfall is I
  859. 35:56think about it but I had to talk about
  860. 35:58it the area right now I really talked
  861. 36:01about it
  862. 36:02I really don't what happened Oh Jay
  863. 36:05claims is that he and Nicole slept
  864. 36:08together which she wrote in the book was
  865. 36:10like an addict having a relapse the
  866. 36:13couple now divorced agreed to continue
  867. 36:16living apart but try to reconcile for
  868. 36:20the next few months sometimes he spent
  869. 36:22the night at her place
  870. 36:23sometimes she at his but the calm didn't
  871. 36:26last
  872. 36:26[Music]
  873. 36:29and I want emergency become one over
  874. 36:32here now in a 325 Gretna Green he's back
  875. 36:35hey what does he look like oh geez
  876. 36:37simple oh wait a minute we can't believe
  877. 36:40what is he doing is he threatening you
  878. 36:43Oh Jay had heard a rumor that sent him
  879. 36:48into a jealous rage
  880. 36:50the Nicole had been hosting parties
  881. 36:52where there were drugs and group sex if
  882. 36:54she was been influenced by drugs or
  883. 36:57anything maybe she might have been
  884. 36:58making a wrong decision I just know I
  885. 36:59didn't want any of these people around
  886. 37:01my kids doing that nine one one tape
  887. 37:26that everybody hears me yelling up I
  888. 37:28don't want these girls around my kids
  889. 37:30and that's the only thing that argument
  890. 37:32on that nine one one tape was about I
  891. 37:34went to her house and I'm bitter about
  892. 37:35riot act
  893. 37:36[Music]
  894. 37:44[Music]
  895. 37:55I did what any father and and would do
  896. 38:01and yet you know if people listened to
  897. 38:04that tape and made me this horrible
  898. 38:06person whenever they hear that nine
  899. 38:07one-take can you believe he's yelling at
  900. 38:09her about this
  901. 38:10well when the cops came it became
  902. 38:11apparent she said I was yelling to her
  903. 38:13about this and only this that's the only
  904. 38:16reason I was there reading her the riot
  905. 38:18act because I don't want these people
  906. 38:19around my kids let's talk about the 911
  907. 38:24tape how did you think about that tape
  908. 38:28for evidence in the trial you know we
  909. 38:31knew what the motive was we knew it was
  910. 38:34jealousy we knew it was control and and
  911. 38:37we knew that he had the capability of
  912. 38:39killing her if you're gonna come in
  913. 38:42yelling being threatening being physical
  914. 38:45kicking in doors and damaging you know
  915. 38:48the wall or the walls in the house while
  916. 38:51the children are there but framing it as
  917. 38:54I'm only here to protect the children
  918. 38:56right exactly and doing so much more
  919. 39:01harm to the children she could have been
  920. 39:03killed that day he doesn't say to you
  921. 39:06Judas what really happened which is he
  922. 39:08kicks in the door he breaks down the
  923. 39:10door to get inside the house and all the
  924. 39:12yelling that we hear on that 911 tape is
  925. 39:15because he's pushed himself into a house
  926. 39:18that is not his and gotten access and
  927. 39:20again he's there stalking and
  928. 39:23terrorizing her you know in in the most
  929. 39:26egregious way and yet he said he
  930. 39:29describes it as looking out for his
  931. 39:31children was OJ Simpson a good father I
  932. 39:34don't know how you call yourself a good
  933. 39:36dad if you commit acts of violence that
  934. 39:39threaten violence in the presence of
  935. 39:41your children so on a scale of one to
  936. 39:44ten I'm gonna put him out a negative one
  937. 39:51for the next seven months the couple
  938. 39:53resumed their relationship walking the
  939. 39:56red carpet at a movie premiere showing
  940. 39:58up at an NFL game and going on family
  941. 40:01vacation with Bruce and Kris Jenner
  942. 40:04but Nicole was exhausted she told her
  943. 40:07close friends that she was finally done
  944. 40:09with OJ but he wasn't done with her up
  945. 40:16next Oh J describes what might have
  946. 40:19happened the night Nicole Brown Simpson
  947. 40:21and Ron Goldman were brutally murdered
  948. 40:22and Nicole was nuts that week I mean
  949. 40:25just craziness it's a story he hasn't
  950. 40:27told before I don't think any two people
  951. 40:30could be murdered the way they were
  952. 40:31without everybody been covered in blood
  953. 40:34I think he's confessed to murder and one
  954. 40:37you will never forget it was an
  955. 40:39absolutely horrible welcome back to OJ
  956. 40:50Simpson a lost confession let's listen
  957. 40:53as OJ Simpson describes what he did on
  958. 40:55the night his ex-wife Nicole Brown
  959. 40:57Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman
  960. 41:00were savagely murdered
  961. 41:04Nicolle now 35 years old made a decision
  962. 41:07that the unhealthy cycle between her and
  963. 41:10OJ had to stop on May 22nd three weeks
  964. 41:16before her murder
  965. 41:17Nicole returned an expensive birthday
  966. 41:19gift that OJ had given her telling
  967. 41:21friends I broke up with him I finally
  968. 41:24feel free I told him I can't be bought
  969. 41:27On June 10th she went property hunting
  970. 41:30in Malibu hoping to put some distance
  971. 41:32between herself and the man who wouldn't
  972. 41:34let her go two days later she would be
  973. 41:38dead you are about to hear Oh Jay
  974. 41:42Simpson talk about what he did on the
  975. 41:44day his ex-wife was murdered
  976. 41:46let's talk about the day of June 12 1994
  977. 41:50no tell me about getting ready for your
  978. 41:53daughter's recital just tell me take me
  979. 41:55through the day it was a long week I had
  980. 41:58been to three or four cities that week I
  981. 42:00was totally exhausted my friends in New
  982. 42:03York tried to get me to stay in New York
  983. 42:05that Friday played golf Saturday and
  984. 42:07then go straight to Chicago where I had
  985. 42:09to be Monday morning but my daughter was
  986. 42:11having a recital and I had already
  987. 42:12missed I think the week or two before I
  988. 42:16had I was out of town and I had missed
  989. 42:18and this is something I forget what it
  990. 42:20was something that my daughter was
  991. 42:22having so I couldn't miss this so I said
  992. 42:25I gotta be there for the recital and I
  993. 42:27flew into town and I just want to go
  994. 42:29there see my daughter and leave and I
  995. 42:32talked to Nicole briefly that day she
  996. 42:33had called asked if I could get if I
  997. 42:36could get there early in whole seats and
  998. 42:38I said how things so what she did and
  999. 42:41when we got to the recital
1000. 42:43she had actually held me a seat with her
1001. 42:45and the two kids I there was something
1002. 42:47that you write in the book about what
1003. 42:50Nicole was wearing yeah you know we it
1004. 42:52was like it was like it's almost like
1005. 42:54she was trying to be a teenager again
1006. 42:56you know dating all these much younger
1007. 42:58guys wearing his shortest tightest thing
1008. 43:00she was wearing and sometimes you think
  1009. 43:02something's inappropriate but you don't
1010. 43:03say anything what am i warm I to say
1011. 43:05tell her what to do you know so your get
1012. 43:08to recital yeah I was just exhausted but
1013. 43:11everything was cool and doing one of the
1014. 43:12breaks dr. Fishman pulled me aside
1015. 43:18and Corphish was is the coast best
  1016. 43:21friend his daughter's my daughter's best
1017. 43:24friend to this day and dr. Fishman said
  1018. 43:27man Jew she won't believe what's going
  1019. 43:29on
1020. 43:30these girls he is telling me that they
1021. 43:32had fights and Nicole was nuts that week
1022. 43:34it was like what are these girls do it I
1023. 43:37mean it's just craziness what they were
1024. 43:38saying I said man get away from when I
1025. 43:40told you these girls whatever is going
1026. 43:41on is bad you know and this comes right
1027. 43:45after a week previous to this her best
1028. 43:48friend core had come to my house and
1029. 43:49tears begging me to do something to get
1030. 43:52Nicole away from the people she was
1031. 43:54hanging around somehow the prosecution
1032. 43:55didn't want that in the case right and I
1033. 43:58don't know it was upset it upset me the
  1034. 44:02Brown family Nicole's parents and
1035. 44:04sisters were also at the recital and
1036. 44:06there were plans for a family dinner
1037. 44:08afterwards at Mezzaluna that local
1038. 44:11Italian restaurant they recall OJ asking
1039. 44:15to come along but Nicole said no what
1040. 44:19kind of frame of mind are you rooming I
  1041. 44:21am tired
  1042. 44:23I don't want to sleep I'm irritable when
1043. 44:26you get tired you get irritable and you
1044. 44:28write about chipping golf balls into the
  1045. 44:30neighbor's yard you're right usually
1046. 44:32when I pick up golf balls the world
  1047. 44:34disappears but this time I couldn't get
1048. 44:35her out of my head yeah I'm thinking
1049. 44:37about my kids and what Dr Fischman
1050. 44:42mentioned to me what comes next is OJ's
1051. 44:47hypothetical account of what he says
1052. 44:50happened on the night of the murders so
1053. 44:52Judith how did you shape this
1054. 44:55conversation around the hypothetical why
1055. 44:57hypothetical he felt that if he could
1056. 45:00claim that it was hypothetical at this
1057. 45:03point he would have deniability with the
1058. 45:06children that was what he said but from
1059. 45:08my point of view who would possibly do
  1060. 45:12this
1061. 45:13even as a hypothetical unless they had
1062. 45:16committed the murders Oh Jay Simpson
1063. 45:19never took the stand at his criminal
1064. 45:21trial and has never given an interview
1065. 45:24about his actions on the night of the
1066. 45:26murders that is until now listen closely
  1067. 45:29for the next sick
1068. 45:31uninterrupted minutes Oh Jay puts
1069. 45:33himself hypothetically at the scene of
1070. 45:36the crime the chapter chapter 6 is
1071. 45:40called the night in question and you
1072. 45:43write in the book now picture this and
1073. 45:44keep in mind that this is hypothetical
1074. 45:47hypothetical why don't you tell me what
1075. 45:50might have happened on the night of June
  1076. 45:5112 1994 and let's just walk through the
1077. 45:55night first bites this is very difficult
1078. 45:57for me to do this it was very difficult
  1079. 45:59for me because it's hypothetical I know
1080. 46:02and I accept the fact that people are
1081. 46:04gonna feel whatever were they gonna feel
1082. 46:06you know they're gonna you know some
1083. 46:11whatever whatever they want to feel in
1084. 46:14the book the hypothetical is Charlie
1085. 46:17Charlie this guy Charlie shows up the
1086. 46:22guy where we should become friends what
  1087. 46:23and I don't know why you'd been buying a
1088. 46:28Cole's house but it told me you wouldn't
1089. 46:31believe what's going on over there and
  1090. 46:34and I remember thinking about what I was
1091. 46:36going over there's got to stop right so
1092. 46:40we kind of hooked up together and you
1093. 46:42know I'm kind of broad stroking this we
1094. 46:45go over get in the Bronco and go over
1095. 46:47all right let's just go back and do the
1096. 46:49details where did you learn through the
1097. 46:50detail you party tonight but they don't
1098. 46:53go in the alley the park in the alley go
1099. 46:56and you put on a wool cap and gloves in
  1100. 47:03the hypothetical I put on a cap and
1101. 47:06gloves right and you reached under the
  1102. 47:10seat for a knife I always kept a knife
1103. 47:15in that car for the crazies and stuff
  1104. 47:17cuz can't travel would have gone and I
  1105. 47:20remember Charlie saying you ain't
  1106. 47:21bringing that and I didn't I but I
1107. 47:23believe he took it Charlie took the
1108. 47:26knife still in the book yeah yes so the
1109. 47:30back gate you go through the back gate
  1110. 47:32yes
1111. 47:34and it was open or broken or I don't
1112. 47:38recall okay I go to the front and I'm
  1113. 47:40looking to see what's going on
1114. 47:43and I can see that it appears now you
1115. 47:47Nicole yeah I had candles all the time
1116. 47:50she really did to keep her overhead out
1117. 47:52of that thing and music was on and while
1118. 47:55I was there a guy shows up so Ron
1119. 47:57Goldman comes in the back end yeah yeah
  1120. 48:00god I really didn't recognize I may have
  1121. 48:02seen him around but I really didn't
1122. 48:04recognize him to be anyone and am I in
1123. 48:09the mood I was in I started having words
1124. 48:11with him she says to you I just came by
1125. 48:14to return a pair of glasses Judy left
  1126. 48:15them at the restaurant
1127. 48:17yeah words to that effect yes and and I
  1128. 48:21don't know if I believe it it didn't
1129. 48:23believe it it was pretty much immaterial
1130. 48:25because you know I was more concerned
1131. 48:28about everything that everything that
1132. 48:30was going on you know and fed up with it
1133. 48:34I guess you get into a fight Nicole
  1134. 48:37comes out a verbal fight got a little
1135. 48:41loud and by that time Nicole had come
1136. 48:45out and we started having words about
1137. 48:48who is this guy why is he here what's
1138. 48:51going on and she says this is my house
1139. 48:52get that the F out of here yes and which
1140. 48:57I didn't like because once again this is
1141. 48:59the same person and if you read the book
1142. 49:01you'll see some things that happen in
1143. 49:02the two weeks leading up to this that
1144. 49:05were very very irritating you know and I
1145. 49:10think Charlie had followed this guy in
1146. 49:13one make sure it was no problem and he
1147. 49:15brought the knife as things got heated I
1148. 49:20just remember the cold fell and hurt
1149. 49:23herself and this guy kind of got into a
1150. 49:27karate thing and I said well you think
1151. 49:30you can kick my ass and I grabbed a
1152. 49:32knife I do remember that portion taking
1153. 49:35that night from Charlie and to be honest
  1154. 49:37after that I don't remember you except
1155. 49:40I'm standing there and it's all kind of
  1156. 49:42stuff around and
1157. 49:46what kind of stuff but and stuff around
  1158. 49:49no I hate to say I know we got a backup
1159. 49:56again you wrote in the book I had never
1160. 50:07seen so much blood in my life covered
  1161. 50:13you're covered the scene
  1162. 50:14can you describe I I it's hard for me to
  1163. 50:17describe it I'm telly I don't think any
1164. 50:19two people could be murdered the way
1165. 50:23they were without everybody been covered
1166. 50:26in blood and of course I think we've all
1167. 50:28seen the grisly pictures after so yeah I
1168. 50:31think everything was going would have
1169. 50:32been covered in blood and what goes
1170. 50:40through your mind at a time like that I
1171. 50:41don't know it's like what happened you
  1172. 50:47write about removing a glove before
1173. 50:50taking the knife from Charlie yeah you
1174. 50:55know I had no conscious memory of doing
1175. 50:57that but obviously I must have because
1176. 50:59they found a glove there and blacking
1177. 51:03out have you ever blacked out before not
1178. 51:06to my knowledge no of course of course
1179. 51:09if something like this would take place
1180. 51:10in anybody's life if it were to happen I
  1181. 51:13would imagine it's something that you
  1182. 51:14would probably automatically have
1183. 51:17trouble wrapping your mind around it it
1184. 51:23was horrible it was absolutely are
1185. 51:30first thoughts Eve it's hard for you to
1186. 51:35even breathe I've been watching you as
1187. 51:36you watch this I have nothing to say
1188. 51:39about this absolutely nothing Chris well
  1189. 51:51I think he's confessed to murder
1190. 51:57I think he's confessed to murder and if
1191. 52:07I had known he said this in 2006 I would
1192. 52:10not have objected to the release of his
  1193. 52:13video I don't think that there's any
1194. 52:19question who his involvement in and that
1195. 52:23he is the person who was wildung the
1196. 52:24knife I mean he may try and describe it
1197. 52:27as a hypothetical but of course it
  1198. 52:30becomes I I did this I felt this I saw
1199. 52:34this this notion of Charlie I think
1200. 52:40Charlie is OJ this is no hypothetical
1201. 52:44this is reality Judith who the heck is
  1202. 52:47Charlie I don't know who Charlie is I
1203. 52:50wanted him to talk for me to start
1204. 52:56interrogating him and pushing him I felt
1205. 52:59he would get more agitated and he kept
1206. 53:01threatening to leave and not to finish
1207. 53:03the interview and I really wanted him to
  1208. 53:07stay let's listen again to this
1209. 53:11disturbing portion of the interview
  1210. 53:14mm I grabbed a knife I do remember that
1211. 53:17portion taking that night from Charlie
  1212. 53:19and to be honest after that I don't
  1213. 53:21remember you except I'm standing there
1214. 53:24and it's all kind of stuff around and
1215. 53:29what kind of stuff but and stuff around
  1216. 53:32yeah I think and Eve I'm sorry but I I
1217. 53:38do want to go through what the coroner
  1218. 53:40says happened because I think it's
  1219. 53:43important
1220. 53:44to understand the specific details it
1221. 53:47was not as he describes exactly Nicole
1222. 53:53didn't fall she was hit on the head with
1223. 53:55the handle of the knife according to the
1224. 53:57coroner she was stabbed four times in
1225. 54:00the neck as she lay on the ground Ron
  1226. 54:03Goldman arrived runs towards her he's
1227. 54:05grabbed by the killer who jabs him in
1228. 54:08the face five times with a knife and
1229. 54:10then slits his throat he gets loose but
  1230. 54:14there's a perimeter fence so he's
1231. 54:16blocked and so the killer is able to
1232. 54:19catch him again and plunges a knife into
1233. 54:23his side and he severs his abdominal
1234. 54:25artery there defensive wounds on his
1235. 54:29hand so he was trying to protect himself
1236. 54:30and the killer alternated between the
  1237. 54:34victims pulling Nicole's head by the
1238. 54:37hair and cutting very deeply into her
1239. 54:40throat and then going back over to Ron
1240. 54:43Goldman who according to the coroner was
1241. 54:46probably dead at that point and stabbing
1242. 54:48him your office described it as overkill
1243. 54:51at the time those details
1244. 54:55I think matter because they go to the
1245. 55:00viciousness of what happened that night
1246. 55:0537 years in criminal law I've never seen
1247. 55:09a crime scene that's horrific as this
1248. 55:14one do you think this is a confession
1249. 55:17Judith absolutely there's no doubt in my
1250. 55:21mind how he chose to do it is the way he
1251. 55:26chose to do it but he did it and that's
1252. 55:30his confession here you are you have it
  1253. 55:35he's telling you I took off a glove I
1254. 55:37must have left my glove there let's
1255. 55:41listen again to the interview you write
1256. 55:44about removing a glove before taking the
1257. 55:47knife from Charlie yeah you know I had
1258. 55:51no conscious memory of doing that but
1259. 55:54obviously I must have because they found
  1260. 55:56a glove there
1261. 55:5825 years of nonsense and now here he is
1262. 56:02to explain to all of the naysayers and
  1263. 56:05all of the doubters that's my glove I
  1264. 56:09left it
1265. 56:10nobody planted it nobody planted it
1266. 56:15you sound curious about the last 25
1267. 56:19years well she should be furious
  1268. 56:25Denis Goldman's they should be furious
  1269. 56:29you know I I'm watching TV one day and I
  1270. 56:33see Kanye West wearing a t-shirt and it
1271. 56:35says free free oj well you free them and
1272. 56:47look what you freed coming up what
1273. 56:52happened with the bloody clothes in the
1274. 56:54book you described taking off your shoes
1275. 56:55your pants and your shirt and dropping
  1276. 56:57it in a bundle remember that
1277. 57:00they're three sources of blood their
  1278. 57:02frogs
1279. 57:03Nicole's and OJ's for the first time he
1280. 57:07tells us all the shocking details where
1281. 57:10the bloody clothes is somebody had to
1282. 57:11get rid of the bloody clothes next
  1283. 57:22welcome back to this never-before-seen
1284. 57:24interview in which OJ Simpson has
  1285. 57:26already revealed staggering first-hand
1286. 57:29details about the crime scene which he
1287. 57:32says are hypothetical you wrote in the
1288. 57:34book I had never seen so much blood in
1289. 57:36my life it's hard for me to describe it
  1290. 57:41I'm telling I don't think any two people
1291. 57:43could be murdered the way they were
1292. 57:47without everybody been covered in blood
1293. 57:50then you see bloody footprints and you
1294. 57:53decide to take off yes excellent I
1295. 57:56believe Charlie kept saying we got to
1296. 57:57get out of here and in the book you
1297. 58:01described taking off your shoes your
1298. 58:03pants and your shirt and dropping it in
1299. 58:04a bundle do you remember that yes and
1300. 58:11remember what happens we're gonna do it
1301. 58:13yeah somebody's got to get rid of as you
1302. 58:16may have called you on the trial and
1303. 58:18said wear the bloody clothes so somebody
1304. 58:19had to get rid of the bloody clothes
1305. 58:21right and you had left your keys and
1306. 58:23wallet in your pants pocket and you had
1307. 58:26to go back and get it I think you know
1308. 58:29to be honest I think I know that to be
  1309. 58:32true yes
1310. 58:32yes um and Charlie is hysterical
1311. 58:35screaming Jesus Christ are Jay Jesus
  1312. 58:38Christ are you telling today he's in a
1313. 58:40panic he was in a panic and I'm telling
1314. 58:42them to shut up let's get out of here so
1315. 58:45you get back in the car you taken your
1316. 58:47clothes put the other bun and drove back
  1317. 58:50and in a parked a block away cuz I knew
1318. 58:53the limo would be there and came across
1319. 58:55the back yard through the two tennis
1320. 58:57courts and you know came through the
1321. 58:59house so you went through the neighbours
  1322. 59:01neighbours yeah
  1323. 59:02tennis court and I had a tennis court
1324. 59:04and you go into the house and what
1325. 59:07happens in the house I ran upstairs take
  1326. 59:12a shower I
1327. 59:13she says it took some of my bags and
1328. 59:15came back downstairs and put him out
  1329. 59:17front
1330. 59:17Oh J was due to catch a late flight to
1331. 59:21Chicago where he was scheduled to play
  1332. 59:23in a Hertz golf tournament - the next
1333. 59:25day and then I get dressed and I come
1334. 59:27back down and then you get in the car
1335. 59:29and go to the airport that's quick
1336. 59:31you sign autographs yeah and you wrote
1337. 59:35in the book that you were asleep before
  1338. 59:38the plane took off
1339. 59:39virtually yeah early the next morning
1340. 59:42Oh J was awakened in his Chicago hotel
1341. 59:44room by a call from the LAPD when did
1342. 59:49you cut your finger to my knowledge
1343. 59:52really when I got the call the next
1344. 59:55morning and this is the truth when I got
1345. 59:59the call and next morning saying that
  1346. 1:00:04Nicole had been murdered
1347. 1:00:06I'd been to was killed was dead I kept
1348. 1:00:08said what do you mean dead killed or
1349. 1:00:10whatever the words they use I said what
1350. 1:00:12do you mean and as well we can't tell
  1351. 1:00:14you anything we're still investigating
1352. 1:00:17but where are you when can you get back
1353. 1:00:19here and I think I actually went in the
1354. 1:00:22bathroom and it was not on me I was I
  1355. 1:00:24didn't really throw a glass I just was
1356. 1:00:27you know you you even when I was putting
1357. 1:00:29it down I just it just smashed you know
1358. 1:00:32police believed that the cuts on AJ's
1359. 1:00:35hand probably came from the fingernails
1360. 1:00:38of one of his victims I went downstairs
1361. 1:00:42I I was bleeding at that point that went
1362. 1:00:45downstairs and asked the lady on the
  1363. 1:00:47desk for a band-aid and I knew that I
1364. 1:00:52signed so many autographs and even when
1365. 1:00:54I arrived the night before there was
  1366. 1:00:59people and I sign autographs and I knew
1367. 1:01:01I wasn't bleeding in any way at that
  1368. 1:01:03point but I knew when I was leaving I
1369. 1:01:04was like ran to the airport and I ended
1370. 1:01:08up forcing my way on a plane I'm sold
1371. 1:01:11out and somehow I told him that my wife
1372. 1:01:14had died and I gotta get out of here and
1373. 1:01:17they got me on you write in the book
  1374. 1:01:18about speaking with Nicole's mother and
1375. 1:01:20her sister Denise yeah do you remember
1376. 1:01:22what that conversation was I think the
  1377. 1:01:24least yelled at me
1378. 1:01:26than once yeah you wrote in the book
1379. 1:01:28that Denise yelled at you you brutal
  1380. 1:01:30son-of-a-bitch filter I know you killed
  1381. 1:01:32her
1382. 1:01:33yeah and what did you say to her
1383. 1:01:34although no the mutes and I never really
1384. 1:01:39had much of a a but then again she
1385. 1:01:42didn't have much of a thing with that
1386. 1:01:43with Nicole you know there was a lot of
  1387. 1:01:46jealousy there let's start the beginning
1388. 1:01:49and Chris since you know this timeline
1389. 1:01:53of the crime so well what do you make of
1390. 1:01:55a J Simpsons version of what happened
1391. 1:01:58next what people need to remember about
1392. 1:02:01that crime scene is that there three
1393. 1:02:04sources of blood their DNA three sources
1394. 1:02:07of DNA on those bodies and in that in
  1395. 1:02:11that Bronco and it's Ron's it's Nicole's
1396. 1:02:14and it's all J's so when he says that he
1397. 1:02:18didn't begin to bleed until he got to
  1398. 1:02:20Chicago that's a complete that's a
1399. 1:02:22complete lie and then when he talks
1400. 1:02:23about the cut finger he says now this is
1401. 1:02:25the truth right I'm curious what that
  1402. 1:02:27signal to you when somebody's speaking
  1403. 1:02:29the truth
  1404. 1:02:30they're just conveying information
  1405. 1:02:31somebody who's lying has to then
1406. 1:02:34convince you that this lies true so
1407. 1:02:36you'll get overselling I wanted to ask
1408. 1:02:38you Eve at the end of that segment he
1409. 1:02:41says Nicole and Denise didn't have much
  1410. 1:02:44of a relationship and then takes a dig
  1411. 1:02:48and says jealousy she's always been
1412. 1:02:51protective of Nicole they were mutton
1413. 1:02:54Jeff growing up there's no such thing as
  1414. 1:02:56jealousy within between the two that's
1415. 1:02:58just laughable so then what's the point
1416. 1:03:00of saying that right he goes out of his
1417. 1:03:02way to take a dig at Denise well because
1418. 1:03:06you know Denise was one of the the folks
1419. 1:03:08pointing a finger of guilt at him so you
  1420. 1:03:10know it's just a little payback that's
1421. 1:03:12just the kind of guy yes so the police
1422. 1:03:15now are obviously eager to interview OJ
1423. 1:03:17Simpson and he heads back to Los Angeles
1424. 1:03:20we're gonna hear what he says happen
  1425. 1:03:22next
1426. 1:03:22take a look so you get back to LA I get
1427. 1:03:26back to LA and and what now we're out of
  1428. 1:03:29hypotheticals Yeah right
1429. 1:03:31I get back to LA and my lawyer and my
1430. 1:03:35assistant picked me up at the airport
  1431. 1:03:36and we're driving
1432. 1:03:38and my lawyer he wants me to go to his
1433. 1:03:40office we need to get that office we
  1434. 1:03:41need to discuss what's going on and I
1435. 1:03:45said no I spoke to the law after I spoke
1436. 1:03:47to the police officer and I told him I
1437. 1:03:50told he told me they needed to see me
1438. 1:03:52and for me to get home as quick as I can
1439. 1:03:54and I said no I say take me to the house
1440. 1:03:58and they said come on oj we need to sit
  1441. 1:04:01down and this guy I said I don't care
1442. 1:04:02get me to the house so when we got to
1443. 1:04:04the house there was video everywhere we
1444. 1:04:07pulled up to the Rockingham gate I
1445. 1:04:09jumped out went to the gate that was
1446. 1:04:11uniformed officer there and told me yeah
  1447. 1:04:13they handcuffed me
1448. 1:04:14that's the handcuffed me for what they
1449. 1:04:16said well I'm sorry I got my orders now
1450. 1:04:18the cops wanted to interview you and
1451. 1:04:20Howard Weitzman says mr. Simpson is in
1452. 1:04:22no condition to talk right now and you
1453. 1:04:24say no hey they need my help to find who
  1454. 1:04:27did this
  1455. 1:04:28I don't care and I've read I'm a I'm a
  1456. 1:04:31voracious reader everybody knows I go
1457. 1:04:34two to three books a week you know now
1458. 1:04:38I'm reading all this fiasco stuff but
  1459. 1:04:40political stuff but normally I read
  1460. 1:04:43mystery books and I know don't talk to
1461. 1:04:45the Lord don't talk to him you know and
1462. 1:04:47if you talk to him you got to make sure
1463. 1:04:49it's recorded so I told him no I will
  1464. 1:04:52talk to him I'll doing anything I could
1465. 1:04:54I could do to help them solve this case
1466. 1:04:57and you said in there I needed to know
1467. 1:04:59what they knew yeah tell me something
1468. 1:05:02nobody told me anything all right so I
  1469. 1:05:04don't nobody told me anything I don't
1470. 1:05:06know what they know that giving me this
1471. 1:05:07runaround in any event I spoke to him I
  1472. 1:05:10told him what I knew I told him
1473. 1:05:12everything about myself that they asked
1474. 1:05:15answered all their questions you always
  1475. 1:05:22have problems with and I
1476. 1:05:30despite being briefly handcuffed oj was
1477. 1:05:33not under arrest and after being
1478. 1:05:35questioned by detectives at police
  1479. 1:05:37headquarters
1480. 1:05:38he was released into the custody of his
  1481. 1:05:40attorneys
  1482. 1:05:43David I told you before he wasn't gonna
1483. 1:05:45say anything I know you got to ask the
1484. 1:05:46question but it was a breaker what was
1485. 1:05:49the hardest thing for you at that time
1486. 1:05:51that people you write in the book that
  1487. 1:05:53you couldn't believe that people thought
  1488. 1:05:54you were a murderer
1489. 1:05:55it was hard to believe that it seems so
1490. 1:05:57easy listen than the TV that week that
1491. 1:05:59it was that easy for people to believe
  1492. 1:06:01that I could I could kill two people I
1493. 1:06:03thought that my whole life were meant
1494. 1:06:06something I thought the type of guy that
1495. 1:06:07I lived my life being pretty upstanding
1496. 1:06:09guy man like everybody had my faults
1497. 1:06:11like most men in in my position sometime
1498. 1:06:15temptations of the flesh is there you
1499. 1:06:17know but for the most part I've always
  1500. 1:06:19thought I was a straight shooting
1501. 1:06:20straight shooter in any event that that
1502. 1:06:24was hard for me to accept that it was so
1503. 1:06:26easy for people to believe that with his
1504. 1:06:34house set rockingham under virtual siege
1505. 1:06:36from the media Oh Jay sought refuge at
1506. 1:06:39the home of his good friend Robert
1507. 1:06:41Kardashian where he was reunited with
1508. 1:06:44his children I want to talk about what
1509. 1:06:46you said to your kids the first time you
1510. 1:06:47saw them after the murders well you know
1511. 1:06:51I had asked Judy Brown not to tell the
1512. 1:06:53kids I felt that was my place to tell my
1513. 1:06:55kids I had to sneak out of my house the
1514. 1:06:58next day because it was like it was like
1515. 1:07:01Troy like the siege of Troy there and
1516. 1:07:05lawyer was able to get me out of the
1517. 1:07:07house and Al cowlings had gotten my kids
1518. 1:07:10and we had met up on Mulholland Drive
  1519. 1:07:13and we're gonna go to Bob Kardashian's
1520. 1:07:15home and like I just would call my kids
1521. 1:07:18getting out of the car and running
1522. 1:07:20across this Holland Drive and jumping in
1523. 1:07:22my arms and I was trying to just find
1524. 1:07:24the right time to tell him right and
1525. 1:07:28right before was time to go to bed I
1526. 1:07:30read him a story and I had started to
1527. 1:07:33tell him about mom and what to tell him
1528. 1:07:35that mother had gone to heaven and but
1529. 1:07:37they sitting he said now I know their
  1530. 1:07:39mom's in heaven and I think I don't I
1531. 1:07:45think I was in shock up to that point
1532. 1:07:47but I think that moment is when I broke
1533. 1:07:49down I mean literally broke down because
1534. 1:07:52the way she said it it was not like
1535. 1:07:54it was sort of sad but not she had no
1536. 1:07:57idea that she had lost a mother she had
1537. 1:07:59no idea how this was gonna affect her
1538. 1:08:01life she had no idea that you know it
1539. 1:08:03was almost like sweet mom's in heaven
1540. 1:08:05you know and I knew that this would have
1541. 1:08:09a profound effect on her life and I
1542. 1:08:11think that was the first time that I
1543. 1:08:15that the pain was almost unbearable I
1544. 1:08:18want to talk about the wake and you
1545. 1:08:21right I was so out of it that I actually
1546. 1:08:23remember thinking awake for whom who
1547. 1:08:25died yeah I mean I was dead put these
  1548. 1:08:28drugs in me and I I mean they tell me I
  1549. 1:08:31would sleep all the way there I don't
1550. 1:08:33even remember like the funeral I always
  1551. 1:08:34tell everybody I'll remember the funeral
1552. 1:08:36I see pictures of Sidney and I kiss him
1553. 1:08:38seeing Nicole him leaning over and
1554. 1:08:40kissing her can you tell me that's right
1555. 1:08:42well no it was tough I just remember
1556. 1:08:44seeing it there and I still had so many
  1557. 1:08:47feelings of if you're angry with a
1558. 1:08:53person upon their death when they die
1559. 1:08:55it's not like that anger disappears
1560. 1:08:57right and and and because of the 9-1-1
1561. 1:09:01call what I'm yelling at her about
1562. 1:09:03what's going on it was like I want it
1563. 1:09:06was almost like I want to say I told you
  1564. 1:09:08didn't I tell you didn't I say to you
1565. 1:09:10you know it's whatever the hell was
1566. 1:09:12going on you know I mean did nice so you
1567. 1:09:14still got those kind of feelings in you
1568. 1:09:17and you still are trying to deal with
1569. 1:09:19I'm not gonna be able to say this to
1570. 1:09:21this person I'm never gonna be able to
  1571. 1:09:23change this person's mind I'm never
1572. 1:09:25gonna have an effect on this person
1573. 1:09:26again what did you say to her when you
1574. 1:09:32leaned over and kissed him anything to
1575. 1:09:35be honest with you I'm told that I that
  1576. 1:09:37some person said they're hurt me say I'm
1577. 1:09:38sorry I just recall Judy Brown pulled me
1578. 1:09:42over looking me in the eye and saying to
1579. 1:09:44me Oh Jay did you have anything to do
1580. 1:09:46with this and I know I told her no okay
1581. 1:09:49so a lot to dig in on that one of the
1582. 1:09:52most chilling things is he's so angry
1583. 1:09:55talking about an incident that happened
1584. 1:09:57seven months earlier that 911 is seven
  1585. 1:10:01months before the funeral and he's
  1586. 1:10:05reciting it as I told
  1587. 1:10:08you didn't die right and he's saying
1588. 1:10:11I'll no longer be able to affect this
1589. 1:10:14person or or to change this person's
  1590. 1:10:16mind that's what he's saying is he's
  1591. 1:10:19standing over his dead ex-wife's body
1592. 1:10:23he's not thinking about the brutal way
1593. 1:10:26she was killed the suffering all he's
1594. 1:10:29talking about his is his anger and his
1595. 1:10:32inability to further control her and
1596. 1:10:35when he says you know didn't I tell you
  1597. 1:10:37didn't I tell you didn't I tell you I'd
1598. 1:10:39kill your ass if you didn't do what I
1599. 1:10:42told you to do it really sounded like he
1600. 1:10:45was saying that right again he blames
  1601. 1:10:48her and he's angry at her that he's
1602. 1:10:51still angry and he'd say and he he what
1603. 1:10:54he's essentially saying is that you know
1604. 1:10:57after you kill someone you'd think the
1605. 1:10:59anger would go away but it didn't I was
1606. 1:11:01still angry he's still angry at her
1607. 1:11:05absolutely control he had lost control
1608. 1:11:08and so he did what he had always said he
1609. 1:11:12would do he killed her
1610. 1:11:14now he has no control it didn't resolve
  1611. 1:11:18anything for him coming up I can't
  1612. 1:11:24believe what I'm seeing a nation stands
1613. 1:11:28still to watch a celebrity on the run I
1614. 1:11:30was being depicted as a fugitive on the
  1615. 1:11:33radio
1616. 1:11:35hey man listen to what they're saying
1617. 1:11:37about me what was oj really thinking
1618. 1:11:40inside the Bronco that was so depressed
  1619. 1:11:43at that point and I and I was having I
1620. 1:11:46would say probably suicidal thoughts
  1621. 1:11:48next
1622. 1:11:55welcome back to OJ Simpson the lost
1623. 1:11:58confession wall oj spent most of his
1624. 1:12:01last week as a free man holed up at the
1625. 1:12:03house of his good friend Robert
  1626. 1:12:05Kardashian
1627. 1:12:06his attorneys negotiated his surrender
1628. 1:12:08to police it was agreed that oj would
  1629. 1:12:11turn himself in at 11:00 a.m. on June
1630. 1:12:1317th five days after the brutal murders
1631. 1:12:17but oj would never show up doesn't
1632. 1:12:20warrant issued for your arrest when you
1633. 1:12:23find out about this what do you do well
1634. 1:12:27once again I was so depressed at that
  1635. 1:12:29point in a and I was having Nick I would
  1636. 1:12:32say probably suicidal thoughts all I
1637. 1:12:34know is I want to see where she was
1638. 1:12:36buried and I wanted the pain to stop
1639. 1:12:39Oh Jays childhood friend al cowlings
1640. 1:12:42known as AC arrived at the Kardashians
1641. 1:12:45expecting to drive OJ to police
1642. 1:12:47headquarters it was at that time that we
1643. 1:12:51discovered for the first time that Oh
  1644. 1:12:52Jay was not present
1645. 1:12:55al cowlings was not present and then I
1646. 1:12:59told me see they were waiting to take me
1647. 1:13:02to to jail that's a sea take me to to
1648. 1:13:04her gravesite damn Oh God come on go
1649. 1:13:07through that I actually said take me to
1650. 1:13:08her house but when we got there there
1651. 1:13:10were cops everywhere so I said take me
1652. 1:13:11to her gravesite why did you want to go
  1653. 1:13:13to her house I don't know that's when
1654. 1:13:16she was last alive that's you know is
  1655. 1:13:18you know I hadn't seen it I dunno I
1656. 1:13:20wanted to see what she was buried I knew
1657. 1:13:23I was gonna think you just knew this was
1658. 1:13:27gonna be a long ordeal I was in so much
  1659. 1:13:30pain I just wanted it to stop I didn't
  1660. 1:13:32think I could bear and I kept saying I
1661. 1:13:33can't be locked in a Cell right now my
1662. 1:13:35kids need me right now and 10:00 today
1663. 1:13:37and I was just I just wanted to paint
1664. 1:13:39the stuff so I said take me to her
1665. 1:13:42gravesite would with a lot of thoughts
1666. 1:13:44as I as we were going down there and
1667. 1:13:47talking to a see as we went down there
  1668. 1:13:49what did you say
1669. 1:13:50just talked about life and you know
1670. 1:13:53remember that time you know stuff like
1671. 1:13:56you know three hours after the deadline
1672. 1:13:59for surrender had passed the LAPD held a
1673. 1:14:02press conference announcing that OJ
1674. 1:14:04Simpson having failed to turn himself in
1675. 1:14:07was now officially a fugitive the Los
1676. 1:14:11Angeles Police Department right now is
1677. 1:14:14actively searching for mr. Simpson
1678. 1:14:18Oh Jays attorneys held their own press
1679. 1:14:21conference to read from a startling note
1680. 1:14:24that OJ had handed his friend Robert
1681. 1:14:26Kardashian before getting into the car
1682. 1:14:28with AC to whom it may concern first
1683. 1:14:37everyone understand I had nothing to do
  1684. 1:14:42with Nicole's murder
1685. 1:14:43I loved her always have and always will
  1686. 1:14:49if we had a problem it's because I love
  1687. 1:14:54her I loved her so much
1688. 1:14:56in the note that you left with Bob
1689. 1:14:59Kardashian yes you right if we had a
  1690. 1:15:02problem it's because I loved her so much
1691. 1:15:04can you tell me what that means I loved
1692. 1:15:08her to know him you know and always
  1693. 1:15:10loved her you know I I think what
1694. 1:15:13happened it became reverse of what she
1695. 1:15:14said to me when she wanted to divorce I
  1696. 1:15:16loved her but I didn't like her I went
1697. 1:15:18over her that's what she had said to me
1698. 1:15:20to get a divorce and I kind of figured
1699. 1:15:22that's where we were at at the time of
  1700. 1:15:24her death I loved it but I wasn't in
1701. 1:15:26love with her you know and to some
  1702. 1:15:28degree I didn't really like her don't
1703. 1:15:30feel sorry for me I've had a great life
1704. 1:15:34great friends please think of the real
1705. 1:15:38OJ and not this lost person thanks for
  1706. 1:15:44making my life special I hope I helped
  1707. 1:15:47yours
1708. 1:15:48peace and love okay I want to talk about
1709. 1:15:53other things that you wrote in that note
1710. 1:15:54yes please think of the real OJ and not
  1711. 1:15:57this lost person well if I don't get
1712. 1:15:59commit suicide you are certainly not a
1713. 1:16:02person who is together you know at that
1714. 1:16:06state in my life and I'm going to commit
1715. 1:16:08suicide I am obviously you know not the
1716. 1:16:12person that I wanted people to know me
1717. 1:16:14to be that I felt that I was so you know
  1718. 1:16:18I thought I'd always been a pretty good
  1719. 1:16:19guy I think I don't think any athlete
1720. 1:16:22had ever had the good will of the public
1721. 1:16:24that I had and certainly no better than
  1722. 1:16:26the goodwill that I have had
1723. 1:16:28and then read short days from Monday to
1724. 1:16:31Friday or for short days just listening
1725. 1:16:35to the TV screens to see all that
1726. 1:16:40couldn't will evaporate it you know did
1727. 1:16:42you say anyways you know it's almost
1728. 1:16:45like you you were Ron and Nicole were
  1729. 1:16:47were physically dead and it's almost
1730. 1:16:50like they killed me who I was was was
1731. 1:16:52attacked and murdered also in that short
1732. 1:16:55period of time and and in once again I
1733. 1:16:58to this day it bugs me that it seems
1734. 1:17:02that people wanted me to be guilty not
1735. 1:17:05really really bothers me by late
1736. 1:17:09afternoon the search for OJ had made
  1737. 1:17:12television history local stations
1738. 1:17:15deployed choppers to hunt for the white
1739. 1:17:17Bronco and when they found it the nation
1740. 1:17:20was transfixed this is a special report
1741. 1:17:26from ABC News I'm Peter Jennings at ABC
  1742. 1:17:29News headquarters let's immediately go
  1743. 1:17:30to a picture in Los Angeles we're
  1744. 1:17:32interrupting 20/20 the major TV networks
1745. 1:17:35went into special report mode breaking
  1746. 1:17:37into regularly scheduled programming
1747. 1:17:39even interrupting the NBA Finals we will
1748. 1:17:43set up two NBC News
1749. 1:17:47Thank You Marvin we are looking at once
1750. 1:17:49again of pictures of al cowlings cars it
1751. 1:17:52makes it way along a freeway in Los
  1752. 1:17:53Angeles in the south-central part of
1753. 1:17:56that area and we are told by the
1754. 1:17:58California Highway Patrol that OJ
1755. 1:18:00Simpson is in that car holding a gun to
  1756. 1:18:03his head
1757. 1:18:04100 million Americans virtually half the
1758. 1:18:08country were glued to their televisions
1759. 1:18:10the vehicle is registered to al cowlings
1760. 1:18:13a former teammate close friend of OJ
1761. 1:18:15Simpson's who is the fugitive from
1762. 1:18:18justice now for more than two hours al
  1763. 1:18:21cowlings navigated 75 miles of la
1764. 1:18:25freeways with his old friend hunkered
1765. 1:18:27down in the back want to go back to the
1766. 1:18:39Bronco and look good you can just give
1767. 1:18:41me some of the details of what what you
1768. 1:18:43said to each other and son there it
  1769. 1:18:45wasn't a lot of conversation but
1770. 1:18:47basically it was just you had a gun yeah
1771. 1:18:50but it was in the bag in the back at
1772. 1:18:51that point with the pictures and stuff
1773. 1:18:53the police like to say it was with a
1774. 1:18:55passport I always have my passport there
  1775. 1:18:57they said I had $10,000 I think I had
1776. 1:19:00like three dollars and something that
  1777. 1:19:01changed it's a matter of fact when I was
1778. 1:19:02let out of jail after my trial and they
1779. 1:19:05were giving me all my things back all
1780. 1:19:07the stuff that was in the Bronco that
  1781. 1:19:08was mine back I said where's the $10,000
1782. 1:19:11where's my two thousand dollars that you
1783. 1:19:13guys claim that I had right which is
1784. 1:19:14totally false in any event what are you
  1785. 1:19:19thinking you're in the car I'm in the
1786. 1:19:22back of it still in the back of the
  1787. 1:19:23trunk and I can't believe what I'm
  1788. 1:19:26seeing
1789. 1:19:26because every time we go by
1790. 1:19:28intersections it was like where did
1791. 1:19:30these people get the time to make these
1792. 1:19:32signs go OJ and stuff and what was
1793. 1:19:35strange is is is is I had been I was
1794. 1:19:37being depicted as a fugitive on the
1795. 1:19:40radio but from the side of the roads it
  1796. 1:19:42was more people cheering
1797. 1:19:45Oh J says what made him snap out of it
1798. 1:19:50and decide to bring the chase to a close
1799. 1:19:53was pride I just remember listening to
1800. 1:19:57the radio which think was dan Rather it
1801. 1:19:59really saved my life right because when
1802. 1:20:01he said that old Jay had a history
1803. 1:20:03police were at their house all the time
1804. 1:20:04eight or nine times that that was the
1805. 1:20:08first time that week that I kind of woke
1806. 1:20:09up hey man listen to what they're saying
1807. 1:20:12about me I say you see this is BS what
1808. 1:20:16they're doing here get me to my house
1809. 1:20:18right take me home and we immediately
1810. 1:20:21immediately call the police is he told
1811. 1:20:24him where we were where we were going as
1812. 1:20:27AC pulled the Bronco into OJ's driveway
  1813. 1:20:30at Rockingham a standoff ensued as a
1814. 1:20:33police negotiator urged oj to put down
1815. 1:20:36the gun and exit the vehicle with his
1816. 1:20:38hands up we got to my house I saw a
1817. 1:20:43sniper on the roof and and I you know
1818. 1:20:45you get to fight it you know they've
  1819. 1:20:46been telling you this they've been
1820. 1:20:48saying this stuff about you
1821. 1:20:49I got to fine it you know saw wouldn't
1822. 1:20:51you rock the car I was just mad until I
1823. 1:20:53saw my oldest son Jason run across the
1824. 1:20:56road and somebody grabbed him he says
1825. 1:20:59that's my father and then I say I gotta
1826. 1:21:00get out of this car I don't want him to
1827. 1:21:02get into the police now know where he is
1828. 1:21:06we have found him the door is opening
1829. 1:21:08and let's see what happens now Oh Jay
1830. 1:21:11Simpson is in custody has been
1831. 1:21:13transported here to Parker center he is
  1832. 1:21:16being booked and processed that'll
1833. 1:21:17include prints mug shot he sounds very
1834. 1:21:23convincing when he talks about being
1835. 1:21:25suicidal and being desperate and being
1836. 1:21:27unhappy and wanting to end it and then
1837. 1:21:31when it gets to the part where he says
1838. 1:21:33they killed me what did you make of that
1839. 1:21:37he clearly was desperate physically and
  1840. 1:21:40emotionally was going through that I
1841. 1:21:41think he was intending to kill himself
1842. 1:21:43but at the end when he's talking about
  1843. 1:21:46him he's basically the victim here it's
1844. 1:21:49it's people thinking bad thoughts about
1845. 1:21:51him people not holding him up that's
  1846. 1:21:54what's devastating to him he wasn't
  1847. 1:21:55suicidal I don't believe it
1848. 1:21:57his his ex-wife the mother of his
  1849. 1:22:00children was murdered brutally he wasn't
1850. 1:22:02suicidal because of that but because his
1851. 1:22:04image was damaged he says he woke up
1852. 1:22:07really when he realized he was getting
1853. 1:22:10bad press in the form of dan Rather
1854. 1:22:13laying out the domestic domestic
1855. 1:22:16violence that what gets him mad is that
  1856. 1:22:19people would think he's a wife beater I
  1857. 1:22:22think he's a very complicated person I
1858. 1:22:25think he's addicted to the limelight and
1859. 1:22:28one of the things that I noted about his
1860. 1:22:31behavior at the time halfway through the
1861. 1:22:34interview he leaned over to me when we
1862. 1:22:37were taking a break and he said when you
  1863. 1:22:39came here today you didn't think you'd
  1864. 1:22:42like me but I changed your mind didn't I
1865. 1:22:46and at no point did he ever acknowledge
1866. 1:22:49or really understand the gravity of his
1867. 1:22:53actions so the police take OJ downtown
1868. 1:22:56to be booked put on suicide watch listen
1869. 1:22:59to how he describes that experience what
1870. 1:23:02was jail like for him in begin it was
  1871. 1:23:05tough because I'm a talker I'm a guy
1872. 1:23:07that spends his life his whole life
  1873. 1:23:09socializing and most people don't
  1874. 1:23:12realize that I was in solitary
  1875. 1:23:13confinement the full 17 months I was
1876. 1:23:15there one of the sergeant's would go out
1877. 1:23:18his way sometime to talk to me through
1878. 1:23:20the cell but I had no one to talk to
1879. 1:23:22from morning to night what was that in
1880. 1:23:24the beginning you know obviously was
1881. 1:23:26horrible you are so at the mercy of
1882. 1:23:29you're jealous for instance the first
1883. 1:23:31time I had to make an appearance in
1884. 1:23:33court I looked so bad I had no tie on
1885. 1:23:36but what the public don't know is they
1886. 1:23:38woke me up every 15 minutes they rattled
1887. 1:23:42my cell turn on the likes their alleged
1888. 1:23:45I was on suicide watch but all night
1889. 1:23:47long they woke me up they made sure I'd
1890. 1:23:50sat up in bed and looked at him now you
1891. 1:23:53go through that all night long and see
1892. 1:23:55what you look like that day in court and
  1893. 1:23:57I look I look horrible
1894. 1:24:04and expenses charges with your lawyer
1895. 1:24:06service at this time he was genetically
  1896. 1:24:10guilty or not guilty
1897. 1:24:14apart from his arraignment Oh Jay would
1898. 1:24:17not be seen again until his trial began
1899. 1:24:20six months later you were looking at
1900. 1:24:23inmate number forty one zero three nine
1901. 1:24:25seven o oj simpson up next Oh chase
1902. 1:24:31reaction to the trial of the century
1903. 1:24:33says there's no way they can convict me
1904. 1:24:35of this why he's still mad at Nicole
1905. 1:24:38I've cursed up a bit torrid cream
1906. 1:24:41sighted why what their help and why he
  1907. 1:24:44agreed to tell all
1908. 1:24:55tonight you've heard Oh Jay Simpson tell
1909. 1:24:58us hypothetically what he says happened
1910. 1:25:01the night Nicole Brown Simpson and her
1911. 1:25:04friend Ronald Goldman were murdered next
1912. 1:25:07he tells us what he really thought of
1913. 1:25:08the trial of the century and why he is
  1914. 1:25:11still angry with his late ex-wife
1915. 1:25:20are you ready to enter a plea at this
  1916. 1:25:22time
  1917. 1:25:24how do you plead to count 1 & 2 the Los
1918. 1:25:36Angeles County District Attorney has
  1919. 1:25:38just filed murder charges against a
1920. 1:25:40rental James OJ Simpson for nearly a
1921. 1:25:43year the so called trial of the century
1922. 1:25:45was must-see TV there is an amazing
1923. 1:25:48ravenous appetite for information about
1924. 1:25:50OJ Simpson in 1995 just three years
1925. 1:25:53after the LA riots the debate over AJ's
1926. 1:25:56guilt or innocence divided America
1927. 1:25:59across racial lines the right people
  1928. 1:26:01excuse me but that's the way I feel
  1929. 1:26:03about this year's situation trying to
1930. 1:26:05set the brother left the prosecution was
  1931. 1:26:07confident they had a slam-dunk case I've
1932. 1:26:10never had a case with so much evidence
  1933. 1:26:11in my entire life
1934. 1:26:13traces of the victim's blood was found
1935. 1:26:15in Simpsons car and at his home and it's
1936. 1:26:19the kind of evidence that causes
1937. 1:26:20defendants to be convicted you guys
  1938. 1:26:22thought you had a slam-dunk case Marcia
  1939. 1:26:24Clark said I have never tried a case
1940. 1:26:28with so much evidence she sounded
1941. 1:26:30incredibly confident contrary to what
1942. 1:26:33people might think you know we were
1943. 1:26:35seasoned veterans in the DA's office and
  1944. 1:26:37we understood that there's more to a
1945. 1:26:39trial than just the evidence the first
1946. 1:26:41time I talked to Marcia Clark about this
1947. 1:26:43case she said I have all of this
1948. 1:26:45evidence the only problem now is if I
1949. 1:26:47can get someone to believe it this case
  1950. 1:26:50is a circus and they've made it a focus
  1951. 1:26:53the mostly african-american jury did not
  1952. 1:26:56believe it
  1953. 1:26:57after simpson's dream team of lawyers
  1954. 1:26:59successfully took advantage of a series
1955. 1:27:01of police and prosecution missteps
  1956. 1:27:03including testimony about a key
1957. 1:27:05detective using a racial slur she said
1958. 1:27:09the only good is it dead if it doesn't
1959. 1:27:14fit you must equip it created reasonable
1960. 1:27:18doubt that Oh Jay Simpson had committed
1961. 1:27:21the murders all right mr. Simpson would
1962. 1:27:23you please stand and face the jury we
  1963. 1:27:28the jury in the above-entitled action
1964. 1:27:29find the defendant Orenthal James
1965. 1:27:32Simpson not guilty of a crime of murder
1966. 1:27:34in violation of Penal Code section
1967. 1:27:41so eleven months of trial here's how Oh
1968. 1:27:46J describes to you Judith how he heard
1969. 1:27:49about the verdict what did you think of
1970. 1:27:53the verdict when the jury came back into
  1971. 1:27:55the room I felt that if there's anything
1972. 1:27:57right with the universes there's no way
1973. 1:27:58they can convict me of this right and
  1974. 1:28:02we're not talking hypothetically that's
1975. 1:28:04how I felt there was a lot of talk that
1976. 1:28:07that somebody who to verdict came to my
1977. 1:28:10cell and told me the night before which
1978. 1:28:13is totally BS every ship everybody that
1979. 1:28:16I came in contact with at the jail which
1980. 1:28:18was run by the Sheriff Department told
1981. 1:28:20me I was going home from the moment Mark
1982. 1:28:22Fuhrman got off the stand when Van adder
1983. 1:28:24and Fuhrman testified all the guys that
1984. 1:28:28did yell said to me whoever was watching
1985. 1:28:30me at the time said you may add in it
1986. 1:28:32you may not I did it but what you're
1987. 1:28:33going on the minute the jury knows these
1988. 1:28:35cops are lying and they're lying and
1989. 1:28:37they do not convict if they think police
1990. 1:28:40officers might what was your reaction
1991. 1:28:41when you heard I told all the lawyers on
1992. 1:28:43at all the lawyers we met and I said I
1993. 1:28:45don't want any celebrating and I told my
1994. 1:28:48mother that the night before I and my
  1995. 1:28:50sisters I don't know celebrating because
  1996. 1:28:52two people are still dead and I don't
1997. 1:28:55need anybody celebrating if the verdict
  1998. 1:28:57is positive towards me
1999. 1:29:02most Americans continue to believe that
2000. 1:29:04Oh Jay Simpson got away with murder but
2001. 1:29:08some still maintain that he is innocent
2002. 1:29:10a victim of racist cops and the media
2003. 1:29:13and even though he was acquitted in the
2004. 1:29:17criminal trial Oh Jay didn't get off
  2005. 1:29:20scot-free in 1997 a jury found him
2006. 1:29:23liable for the double murders in a civil
2007. 1:29:26trial he was ordered to pay the victims
  2008. 1:29:28families 30 3.5 million dollars in
2009. 1:29:31damages the money is not the issue it
2010. 1:29:34never has been it's been making certain
2011. 1:29:36that one man the man that murdered my
2012. 1:29:39son and Nicole is held responsible by a
  2013. 1:29:42court of law
2014. 1:29:43and it's happened do you feel that
2015. 1:29:46you've lived the life of a convicted man
2016. 1:29:48in many ways thank God the public has
2017. 1:29:51not forced me to live that way the
2018. 1:29:52media's tried but the public hasn't so
  2019. 1:29:56it's it's a curious that I go places and
2020. 1:29:59the public will come up to me hug me ask
2021. 1:30:05me how the kids are going you're right
2022. 1:30:07in the book I realized that with respect
2023. 1:30:09to your children and telling your
2024. 1:30:10children I realized that neither of them
2025. 1:30:12really understood what had happened to
  2026. 1:30:13Nicole let alone the long-term effects
2027. 1:30:15that her death would have on their lives
  2028. 1:30:17huh
2029. 1:30:18what long-term effect has it had um well
  2030. 1:30:21you know I see it it's you know I don't
2031. 1:30:24like talking about my kids I gotta make
2032. 1:30:26it clear then and my kids have told me
2033. 1:30:28dad you said you wanted to talk about us
2034. 1:30:29don't talk about us but I will go so far
  2035. 1:30:31as you say this [ __ ] me especially I had
2036. 1:30:35enough time with her mother to establish
2037. 1:30:37a work ethic no she was accepted in
2038. 1:30:40every college that she applied to they
2039. 1:30:44both went to the schools of their choice
2040. 1:30:45they're both in college well what these
2041. 1:30:48kids have gone through even if they
  2042. 1:30:50hadn't gone through it I can't imagine
2043. 1:30:51having two better kids do you talk to
  2044. 1:30:55them about their mother and that's
2045. 1:30:57something that my kids asked me not to
  2046. 1:30:58discuss there's nobody's business and
2047. 1:31:00just to say that you know my I feel
2048. 1:31:03totally loved about my kids they know
  2049. 1:31:05that they're very loved
2050. 1:31:07Sydney Simpson was only nine when her
2051. 1:31:10mother was murdered on the front steps
2052. 1:31:12of their home at Bundy Drive her brother
2053. 1:31:14Justin was six they were asleep upstairs
2054. 1:31:18that night and police woke them and took
2055. 1:31:21them out the back door so they didn't
2056. 1:31:23have to see the crime scene we don't
2057. 1:31:26know what their relationship with their
2058. 1:31:27father is like today but oj says he has
2059. 1:31:30never tried to erase Nicole's memory do
2060. 1:31:35you have a picture of Nicole at home on
  2061. 1:31:37the wall yeah
  2062. 1:31:38no it's in the living room it's Nicole
2063. 1:31:40me and the kids it was the last real
2064. 1:31:42group picture we took together so it's
2065. 1:31:44right there provident in my living room
2066. 1:31:45my kids keep pictures of her in their
2067. 1:31:48room do you believe in heaven and hell
2068. 1:31:49yes do you believe that you're gonna see
2069. 1:31:51Nicole some yes you do and my mother my
2070. 1:31:54dad I sure does sure he did and what
2071. 1:31:56what will you say to her you know I
  2072. 1:31:59never thought of that I was a hugger
2073. 1:32:01she you know if there is a heaven
  2074. 1:32:04there's a help they know I won't explain
2075. 1:32:06anything if they know that's what heaven
2076. 1:32:09and hell is all about do you ever talk
2077. 1:32:11to her in your mind uh no I pray to it I
2078. 1:32:14got on my knees and Satan I look I've
2079. 1:32:18cursed uh I've been to her cream Satan
2080. 1:32:20why what the hell these kids look at
2081. 1:32:24Sydney with no mother you know I've done
2082. 1:32:27that I've done that that is what most
2083. 1:32:33domestic abuse partners do they connect
2084. 1:32:36violence and love may I add something
2085. 1:32:40now that all makes sense because I
2086. 1:32:42remember during that time the family got
2087. 1:32:46a call from the cemetery and said he's
2088. 1:32:49here and they said excuse me and they
  2089. 1:32:52said he's here and and we're scared cuz
  2090. 1:32:56he's screaming that Nicole's grave she's
2091. 1:33:00just screaming at it and the family said
  2092. 1:33:04well call the police
2093. 1:33:05did you know that no no I've never I've
2094. 1:33:10never heard that before you know he's
  2095. 1:33:12really revealed himself
  2096. 1:33:14within a year of that 2006 interview
2097. 1:33:16with Judith Regan OJ was in trouble
