New Dragon Ball Super Trailer Soon? The Moro Arc Update — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Dragon Ball fans, I've got good news and
- 0:02bad news. The bad news is that one of
- 0:05the biggest events of the year just
- 0:06completely disappointed us. We were
- 0:09expecting massive Dragon Ball Super
- 0:11announcements, maybe even the remake or
- 0:13the Moro arc, but instead, Dragon Ball
- 0:16isn't even there. Yeah, it's honestly
- 0:18frustrating, but don't leave just yet
- 0:20because the good news is way bigger. We
- 0:22might be getting a brand new Dragon Ball
- 0:24Super remake trailer much sooner than
- 0:26expected, and there's even new info
- 0:28about the Moro arc. So, let's break it
- 0:30all down. Let's start with the bad news
- 0:32because a lot of you were looking
- 0:34forward to San Diego Comic-Con this
- 0:35year. After all the recent Xenoverse 3
- 0:38news, it finally felt like Dragon Ball
- 0:40Super's turn to step back into the
- 0:42spotlight. A lot of us genuinely
- 0:44believed this would be the event where
- 0:45Toei would finally start pushing the
- 0:47remake properly, or maybe even give us
- 0:49our first real look at the Moro arc. San
- 0:52Diego Comic-Con has always been one of
- 0:54those events where huge franchises
- 0:56[music] reveal massive projects. So,
- 0:58naturally, everyone expected Dragon Ball
- 1:00to have some sort of presence there.
- 1:02Unfortunately, that isn't happening,
- 1:04bro. The full San Diego Comic-Con
- 1:06schedule was released over the weekend,
- 1:08and Dragon Ball is nowhere to be found.
- 1:11There aren't even any Toei Animation
- 1:13panels this year. In previous years,
- 1:15we'd usually get a dedicated Dragon Ball
- 1:17booth or at least some kind of special
- 1:19presentation, but this time there isn't
- 1:22one, just a standard Toei booth. So,
- 1:24unless Toei somehow pulls off a surprise
- 1:26announcement out of nowhere, Dragon Ball
- 1:28simply won't be present at the event.
- 1:30And honestly, that's really
- 1:31disappointing. I get that San Diego
- 1:33Comic-Con is an incredibly expensive
- 1:36event when it comes to marketing.
- 1:38Renting space, building booths,
- 1:39organizing panels, bringing guests,
- 1:41flying out voice actors and staff, all
- 1:44of that costs a ridiculous amount of
- 1:46money. But at the same time, this is
- 1:48Dragon Ball we're talking about, a
- 1:50franchise that generates billions of
- 1:52dollars every single year. Spending
- 1:54money to market your biggest anime
- 1:56franchise shouldn't even be a question.
- 1:59If anything, this is exactly the kind of
- 2:01event where you want people talking
- 2:02about Dragon Ball again. Because here's
- 2:04something a lot of people forget. Not
- 2:06everyone spends their day on Twitter,
- 2:08YouTube, or Reddit. A lot of casual fans
- 2:11only discover new anime projects through
- 2:13events like Comic-Con. It's free
- 2:16exposure. Families walk by, anime fans
- 2:19walk by, gaming fans walk by, and
- 2:21suddenly they see a huge Dragon Ball
- 2:24display announcing a brand new remake or
- 2:27the Moro arc. That's how you bring old
- 2:29fans back while attracting new ones at
- 2:31the same time. And that's why I think
- 2:33skipping San Diego Comic-Con is a missed
- 2:35opportunity. Toei was honestly doing a
- 2:38really good job marketing Dragon Ball
- 2:40Super earlier this year. The leaks were
- 2:42building hype, the info was slowly
- 2:44coming out, and people were genuinely
- 2:46excited again. But right now, it feels
- 2:48like they're slowly falling back into
- 2:50their old habits of not promoting Dragon
- 2:52Ball enough, especially if the reports
- 2:54about the remake launching around
- 2:55[music] October are accurate. If that's
- 2:58really the plan, where is the marketing?
- 3:00Where are the trailers, [music] the
- 3:01interviews, the promotional events?
- 3:03We're getting closer and closer, yet
- 3:06everything has gone strangely [music]
- 3:07quiet. Now, before everyone starts
- 3:09panicking, this is where the good news
- 3:11begins. Just because Dragon Ball isn't
- 3:13appearing at San Diego Comic-Con,
- 3:15doesn't mean we're not getting anything
- 3:17this month. In fact, I think something
- 3:19much bigger is about to happen. Dragon
- 3:21Ball Super [music] Heroes promotion has
- 3:23officially been confirmed for Fuji TV's
- 3:26huge summer event [music] called Odaiba
- 3:28Fan Rising, running from July 25th all
- 3:31the way until August 23rd. Why does that
- 3:34matter? Because Toei has done this
- 3:36before. When Dragon Ball Daima was
- 3:38getting ready to air, they used this
- 3:40exact [music] strategy. First announce
- 3:41Dragon Ball's presence at Fuji TV's
- 3:43summer event, then drop a brand new
- 3:45trailer right before it starts. That's
- 3:48why I genuinely believe history is about
- 3:50to repeat itself.
- 3:52If Toei follows the same marketing
- 3:53strategy they used for Daima, there's a
- 3:56very good chance we'll be getting
- 3:57another Dragon Ball Super remake trailer
- 3:59before Odaiba Fan Rising officially
- 4:01begins. And honestly, that's the trailer
- 4:04I'm waiting for the most because the
- 4:05first trailer mainly focused on Beerus.
- 4:08This [music] time, I really want to see
- 4:09Resurrection F. According to multiple
- 4:12insiders and leakers, the Resurrection F
- 4:14remake is already completely finished.
- 4:17Production on that arc is reportedly
- 4:19done, and it'll begin airing immediately
- 4:21after the Beerus arc finishes. So,
- 4:23showing footage from Resurrection F
- 4:25would make perfect sense, bro. Not only
- 4:27would it prove the project [music] is
- 4:29much further along than people think, it
- 4:31would also give fans confidence that
- 4:33Toei already has multiple arcs completed
- 4:35before the anime even starts airing. And
- 4:38that's exactly the reassurance the
- 4:39community needs right now. Personally,
- 4:42with how quiet everything has been
- 4:43recently, I don't think we're done with
- 4:45trailers at all. In fact, I'm expecting
- 4:48at least two more before the remake
- 4:50officially premieres. The first one
- 4:52should announce the release date and
- 4:54show more Beerus footage alongside our
- 4:56first proper look at Resurrection F.
- 4:59Then, I think we'll get one final launch
- 5:01trailer much closer to release, just
- 5:03like most anime projects do when they're
- 5:05trying to build up as much hype [music]
- 5:07as possible before premiere. Now, let's
- 5:09move on to the Moro arc because we
- 5:11actually got a small but really exciting
- 5:13update there as well. According to Anime
- 5:16Ajay, Vegeta's design in the Moro arc
- 5:19will apparently combine Toriyama's
- 5:20classic Buu Saga art style with
- 5:23Toyotaro's Moro arc design. And
- 5:25honestly, that sounds incredible. One of
- 5:27the biggest strengths of Toyotaro's Moro
- 5:29artwork was how expressive Vegeta looked
- 5:32throughout the arc. So, mixing that with
- 5:34Toriyama's cleaner late Z style could
- 5:37easily give us one of the best-looking
- 5:39versions of Vegeta we've ever seen in
- 5:41animation.
- 5:42So, yeah, they're definitely cooking,
- 5:44and I I wait to actually see it
- 5:46animated. Now, the next big event
- 5:48everyone should keep their eyes on is
- 5:50New York Comic-Con. Unlike San Diego, I
- 5:53actually think New York has a much
- 5:55better chance of featuring Dragon Ball.
- 5:58If the remake is already airing by then,
- 6:00I could easily see Toei hosting a Dragon
- 6:02Ball Super panel where they officially
- 6:04start talking about the future of the
- 6:06anime. And that's where I think we'll
- 6:08finally hear something about the Moro
- 6:10arc. Don't expect a [music] full trailer
- 6:12or anything crazy. I think it'll
- 6:13probably be a teaser, maybe a key
- 6:16visual, maybe some production updates,
- 6:18or even just confirmation that work is
- 6:20progressing smoothly. Something small,
- 6:22but enough to let everyone know the Moro
- 6:24arc is officially on the way. And
- 6:27honestly, that's all we really need
- 6:28right now. Because once October arrives,
- 6:31everything changes. A lot of insiders
- 6:34keep saying the exact same thing. Right
- 6:36now, this is simply the calm before the
- 6:38storm.
- 6:39October is when everything truly begins.
- 6:42The remake, the marketing, the
- 6:44interviews, the trailers, the hype, all
- 6:47of it. And I don't think Toei is going
- 6:49to hold back once that starts. So, while
- 6:52San Diego Comic-Con might have been
- 6:53disappointing, I genuinely don't think
- 6:55Dragon Ball fans have to wait much
- 6:57longer. I think we're only a few weeks
- 7:00away from seeing the next big reveal, so
- 7:02keep your eyes peeled, bro. Now, it's
- 7:04time for shout-out time from the
- 7:05previous video. Barry Smith commented
- 7:08that he'd love a mini-series focusing
- 7:10entirely on Xenoverse events. And
- 7:12honestly, bro, I'd love that, too.
- 7:15There's so much unexplored lore in
- 7:17Xenoverse that could easily work as its
- 7:19own anime or mini-series. I think it'd
- 7:22be awesome to see the Time Patrol, Fu,
- 7:24Mira, Towa, and our CAC get more time to
- 7:27shine outside of the games. Since
- 7:29there's genuinely a ton of story
- 7:31potential there that the games have
- 7:33barely scratched the surface of so far.
- 7:36So, yeah, that's about it. If you
- 7:37enjoyed the video, make sure to like it
- 7:39and subscribe. We're trying to reach
- 7:4125,000 subscribers, and let me know what
- 7:44you think down in the comments. Are you
- 7:46disappointed that Dragon Ball is
- 7:47skipping San Diego Comic-Con or do you
- 7:50think Toei is saving everything for the
- 7:51next trailer? Until next time, take care
- 7:54and see you.
