- 0:59next week as well. And once again, we'll
- 1:01have all the action from the Premier
- 1:03League, La Liga, and then of course UEFA
- 1:05Champions League, Europa League, and
- 1:07Conference League coming up for you in a
- 1:09couple of weeks time as well. As for
- 1:11today though, we have once again got
- 1:13eight matches to cover in match day four
- 1:16of the Nations League. So without any
- 1:17further ado, let's get straight into it.
- 1:20We begin with the early kickoff which
- 1:22comes from League C group two and it is
- 1:24going to be Cypress at home to Latvia.
- 1:27These sides currently sit second and
- 1:30bottom at the halfway mark with Cypress
- 1:32on a record of one win, one draw and one
- 1:34loss with Latvia on one draw and two
- 1:37defeats so far. So early indications are
- 1:40good for the home side coming into this
- 1:43one. On Friday night, Cypress picked up
- 1:46their first win of the Nations League
- 1:47and it was here against Armenia. It was
- 1:50a really strong first half display with
- 1:52Konamis and Kakulis both scoring in the
- 1:55first half an hour of that match. Those
- 1:58two goals were actually enough to secure
- 2:00the victory for Cypress. But big credit
- 2:02also needs to go to their defense in the
- 2:04second half of the game because early in
- 2:06the second half, Pelus got himself sent
- 2:08off. a little bit harsh in my opinion,
- 2:11especially when you see that the red
- 2:13card was rewarded on VR. I would
- 2:15understand if a straight red was given
- 2:17and V upheld it. From what I saw, it was
- 2:20a little bit harsh to overturn it and up
- 2:23it to a red considering how sort of
- 2:25minimal the challenge was, although I
- 2:26imagine it was still quite painful.
- 2:29Despite going down to 10 men though,
- 2:31Cyprus were able to hold on to the clean
- 2:33sheet and survive the Armenian
- 2:35onslaught. Now at home once again to the
- 2:38bottom side in the group. They're going
- 2:39to be fancing their chances of making it
- 2:41back-to- back wins here. Speaking of
- 2:44Latvia, unfortunately it was more of the
- 2:46same for them as they conceded from
- 2:48Montenegro's first attack of the match
- 2:51despite having five at the back in the
- 2:53game. But simply the marking was
- 2:55completely non-existent. To be fair,
- 2:57they did step things up after going
- 2:59behind. They actually hit the woodwork
- 3:00twice before Montenegro got their second
- 3:03goal of the game. this time as the five
- 3:05at the back failed to clear the ball,
- 3:06but they were able to grab a late
- 3:08consolation as Strooss made it 2-1
- 3:11before the end of the game, but
- 3:12ultimately it wasn't enough. Still a
- 3:14better performance from them, but in my
- 3:16opinion, they're going to need even more
- 3:17again now away from home if they're
- 3:20going to get anything from this match.
- 3:22In terms of the team news, obviously for
- 3:24Cyprus, Pelas is going to be suspended
- 3:27for that red card, but he won't be the
- 3:29only suspension for this game as Latvia
- 3:31are going to be without their captain,
- 3:32Chernam Mordics, who has got himself two
- 3:34yellow cards in the first three match
- 3:36days. Back on match day two, Latvia were
- 3:39able to hold Cyprus to a nil nil draw at
- 3:42home. So, it's not out of the question
- 3:44that they can get something from this
- 3:46match. After respected performances on
- 3:48Friday, I think that particular score
- 3:50line of nil nil is a lot more unlikely
- 3:53this time around. I am going to go for
- 3:55Cypress to get the victory though and
- 3:56I'm going to go for the exact same score
- 3:58that they won by on Friday night and
- 4:00that is 2-0 to Cyprus. As for the other
- 4:05game in League C group two, we have the
- 4:07top of the table Montenegro taking on
- 4:10third place side Armenia. It is maximum
- 4:13nine points out of nine for the home
- 4:15side coming into this one and just three
- 4:18points from Armenia who come into this
- 4:20off the back of backto back defeats. It
- 4:23was a simply perfect start for
- 4:24Montenegro away at Latvia on Friday
- 4:27night with Adzich scoring with their
- 4:29first attempt of the game after bursting
- 4:31through from midfield to put the ball in
- 4:33the back of the net. He then grabbed his
- 4:35second and Montenegro second just after
- 4:38Halime following a first time strike
- 4:40into the top lefthand corner of the net
- 4:42as he latched on to a loose ball in the
- 4:44penalty area. That being said though, it
- 4:47was by no means a perfect performance
- 4:48from Montenegro away in Latvia and
- 4:50Latvia had plenty of chances to level in
- 4:53the game when it was 1 nil and then when
- 4:56it was at 2-0, Montenegro did end up
- 4:58conceding as well. So even though it is
- 5:01still three wins out of three,
- 5:02defensively they are still looking a
- 5:04little bit dodgy as things stand. As for
- 5:07Armenia, they only really have
- 5:08themselves to blame for the defeat in
- 5:11Cyprus on Friday night. Both goals
- 5:13coming from horrendous errors. firstly
- 5:15from goalkeeper Burrian who literally
- 5:18dropped the ball following across right
- 5:21at the feet of the Cypress player
- 5:22following a corner and then 20 minutes
- 5:25later it got even worse as one of
- 5:27Armenia's own midfielders basically put
- 5:29a through ball straight through the back
- 5:31of his own defense leaving Cypress 2v1
- 5:33with the goalkeeper a simple pass and
- 5:35finish and Armenia found themselves 2-0
- 5:38down to make matters worse when Cypress
- 5:41then went down to 10 men in the second
- 5:42half Armenia still weren't able to score
- 5:45a single goal playing 11 versus 10. And
- 5:48yes, they made plenty of chances, but
- 5:50they were unable to score any of them.
- 5:53Now away to the top side in this group.
- 5:55They can't get their scoring boots on
- 5:57here. It's going to be another very long
- 5:59night for them. In terms [clears throat]
- 6:01of the team news, no fresh concerns for
- 6:03the home side coming into match day
- 6:05four, but Seekan is going to be
- 6:07suspended for Armenia following
- 6:09back-to-back yellow cards on match day
- 6:11two and match day three. Back on match
- 6:14day two, Montenegro won a crazy game
- 6:17against Armenia in Armenia, scoring late
- 6:20on to win the game by three goals to
- 6:23two. Now back at home, you would expect
- 6:25it to be a little bit more comfortable
- 6:27this time around. I still think Armenia
- 6:29going to have plenty of moments of their
- 6:30own though, considering how strong they
- 6:32have been going forward, even if they've
- 6:34not been scoring. And given how
- 6:36vulnerable Montenegro have looked
- 6:38despite still winning, all of that
- 6:40coming together, I'm going to go for the
- 6:41Montenegro home win. and I'm going to go
- 6:43for a 31 victory to them. On to League
- 6:48B, group two now then, and we'll start
- 6:50this group off with Northern Ireland
- 6:52taking on Georgia. Northern Ireland now
- 6:55top of this group with two wins and a
- 6:57draw and zero goals conceded from the
- 7:00first three matches. Georgia rock bottom
- 7:03at the halfway mark, one draw and two
- 7:05defeats from their three games and zero
- 7:08goals scored. for Northern Ireland. I
- 7:11mean, sometimes I've just got to hold up
- 7:12my hands and say, do you know what? Fair
- 7:14play. What an absolutely unbelievable
- 7:16performance because if you remember back
- 7:18to my match day three video, I actually
- 7:20said that Northern Ireland would be
- 7:22comfortably losing against Ukraine. And
- 7:24what happened instead in Slovakia is
- 7:26that they won by three goals to nil. It
- 7:29was Clarence Brown's double that got
- 7:31them ahead with Isaac Price scoring a
- 7:32goal in between. 3-0 victory away
- 7:35against Ukraine. Incredibly, they did
- 7:38all of that though with just 28%
- 7:41possession in the match. And it was yet
- 7:43another brilliant performance from young
- 7:45goalkeeper Pierre Charles, who on top of
- 7:48making another bunch of saves, also got
- 7:50an assist in the match as well. He's
- 7:52been well touted for his ball playing
- 7:54abilities. And getting assists just
- 7:56comprom
- 8:03that is bottom of the table. yet fancy
- 8:06them to get their first home win of the
- 8:08tournament here. Now, I may have called
- 8:10Northern Ireland's game completely wrong
- 8:12on Friday night, but I got Georgia's
- 8:14game absolutely spoton as they ended up
- 8:16losing 1 nil away in Hungary and a game
- 8:19that basically centered around Liverpool
- 8:21players from Georgia specifically. It
- 8:23was all about Mama Dashilly who was
- 8:24forced into making multiple big saves in
- 8:27the match to keep Georgia in it.
- 8:28Unfortunately though, his resistance was
- 8:31broken when his own Liverpool teammate
- 8:33Milos Kures got hungry ahead at the back
- 8:36post when he was left unmarked by the
- 8:38Georgian defense. To be fair, Georgia
- 8:41then did respond and had a little brief
- 8:43flurry in response to going behind
- 8:45before Halime, but unfortunately were
- 8:47still unable to create any real moments
- 8:50of quality in front of goal. And again,
- 8:52watching the highlights, it still looks
- 8:54like they're forcing the ball to Carvat
- 8:55Scalia. And look, no goals scored in the
- 8:58first three games. Maybe at some point
- 9:00you need to try something a little bit
- 9:01different. It seems to me it's starting
- 9:03to become awfully predictable what
- 9:05Georgia are trying to do. And now of
- 9:07course away to the top side and the top
- 9:10scorers in this group. It really looks
- 9:12like it could be another difficult task
- 9:14for them to get anything from this game.
- 9:16In terms of the team news, no fresh
- 9:18issues for Northern Ireland, although it
- 9:20will likely be a small rotation to their
- 9:23lineup as it has been in their other
- 9:24three matches so far. For Georgia,
- 9:27Kickash Villi picked up an early issue
- 9:29in the second half on Friday night and
- 9:30he is expected to be out for this one.
- 9:33Back on match day two, it was Northern
- 9:35Ireland who picked up the victory thanks
- 9:37to a 99th minute winner from Shay
- 9:40Charles away in Georgia. To be honest,
- 9:42even though this is top versus bottom, I
- 9:45would still expect this one to be very,
- 9:47very close. Yes, Georgia are bottom of
- 9:50the table with just one point and zero
- 9:52goals scored, but they've actually only
- 9:54conceded two goals in this tournament so
- 9:57far, and I think that will come into
- 9:59this. They are still defending
- 10:00relatively well. And let's not also
- 10:02forget that they missed a penalty in
- 10:05that defeat to Northern Ireland back on
- 10:06match day two. So, I still think they
- 10:08have a chance of getting something from
- 10:10this game. Ultimately though, based on
- 10:12the form of the first three match days,
- 10:14I have to go for a Northern Ireland home
- 10:16win here. So, what I'm going for is a
- 10:18two-nil victory for Northern Ireland.
- 10:20But watch this space. Even though it's
- 10:22top at home to bottom, it wouldn't
- 10:24surprise me if Georgia still got
- 10:25something here. As for the other half of
- 10:28League B, Group Two, once again, it will
- 10:31be coming from Slovakia as Ukraine play
- 10:33their second official home game of the
- 10:35Nations League here against Hungary.
- 10:37It's second against third in this group
- 10:39with both sides s currently sat on four
- 10:42points from the opening three games with
- 10:43one win, one draw, and one loss. For
- 10:46Ukraine, after such a strong start in
- 10:48this group in their away fixtures, it
- 10:50really did all go wrong for them on
- 10:52Friday night in their first official
- 10:54home game in Slovakia against Northern
- 10:56Ireland as they made so many errors
- 10:59leading to the three goals that Northern
- 11:01Ireland scored. Firstly, simply being
- 11:03unable to clear the ball from the
- 11:05corner. Then shocking marking in the
- 11:07penalty area allowing a free header from
- 11:09across to put them 2-0 down. And then if
- 11:12you've not seen the third goal that
- 11:14Northern Ireland scored, it might be the
- 11:16worst piece of goalkeeping I have seen
- 11:18so far this season as Shakar goalkeeper
- 11:21Rznik comes out following a flick on and
- 11:24literally misses the ball with his hand.
- 11:26It bobbles through his legs and then
- 11:29trickles into the back of the net. I
- 11:30honestly think he still might have had
- 11:31time to turn around and claw it off the
- 11:33line, but it is some of the worst
- 11:35goalkeeping I've seen. And unfortunately
- 11:36for them, it now means they lose the
- 11:38game. Three goals to nil. And they even
- 11:41had plenty of chances at the other end
- 11:43of the pitch as well, but were unable to
- 11:45break Northern Ireland down. And 3-0 is
- 11:48unfortunately how it finished. As for
- 11:50Hungary, they picked up their first win
- 11:53of the Nations League on Friday night.
- 11:54That was at home to Georgia. And it was
- 11:56Liverpool duo Dominic Sashlai and Milos
- 11:59Kirquez that made the real difference
- 12:00for them. Slovishly picking up the man
- 12:02of the match award with Kerz getting the
- 12:04goal at the back post. However, it was
- 12:06still a mix tonight for him and you'll
- 12:08find out why when we get into the team
- 12:11news following a couple of poor
- 12:12performances in match day one and match
- 12:14day two. This was a much better
- 12:16performance and a much needed victory
- 12:18for Hungary as they look to get revenge
- 12:21on Ukraine for what happened earlier on
- 12:23last week. In terms of the team news
- 12:25coming into this match, Sikan and Matt
- 12:28Vienko are out for Ukraine through
- 12:30suspension after picking up multiple
- 12:32yellow cards over the course of the
- 12:34first few match days. As for Hungary,
- 12:36this is why it was a mixed bag for Kirz
- 12:39cuz he also picked up his second yellow
- 12:41card of the tournament following his
- 12:42goal in midweek, which means he is going
- 12:45to be suspended for this game as well.
- 12:48Back on match day two, it was Ukraine
- 12:50who got the 1-0 away win in Hungary. But
- 12:53after Friday night, after the way they
- 12:55played and after the way Hungary played,
- 12:57I honestly think this one could go
- 12:59either way once again. And in my
- 13:01opinion, there is now no clear favorite
- 13:03for this match. So, I'm just going to go
- 13:05down the middle. I'm going to go for a
- 13:06draw and let's see who potentially ends
- 13:08up taking it in the end. I'm going for
- 13:111-1 between Ukraine and Hungary. The
- 13:14other group in action from League B on
- 13:16Monday night then is going to be B4. And
- 13:19we'll start off with Bosnia taking on
- 13:21Poland with these two sides second and
- 13:24third at the halfway stage. Bosnia
- 13:26currently unbeaten on five points from
- 13:28their first three and Poland on four
- 13:30points with one win, one draw and one
- 13:33loss. On Friday night, Bosnia were also
- 13:36in action on this ground as they took on
- 13:38the league leaders Sweden. It was
- 13:40unfortunately no fairy tale end for Eden
- 13:43Joeko as he was robbed of a goal in his
- 13:46final match due to the ball being
- 13:47narrowly out of play on the far side. It
- 13:50was absolutely heartbreaking. Everyone
- 13:52jumped on him and celebrating. Looks
- 13:54like tears were about to start flowing.
- 13:55Then V stepped in and killed the moment.
- 13:58And to make matters worse, Joeko then
- 14:00had to watch his side go behind early on
- 14:03in the second half following a sloppy
- 14:05back pass which allowed Sweden to go 1
- 14:07nil ahead that immediately then prompted
- 14:10the farewell substitution. So it was an
- 14:13absolute disastrous combination of
- 14:15moments before he left the field. But he
- 14:17would have ended the night happy because
- 14:19Bosnia were able to get themselves level
- 14:20late on in the game as Alabbeovich's
- 14:23cross found its way all the way in to
- 14:25the far corner to secure a point and
- 14:27maintain Bosnia's unbeaten start to the
- 14:30Nations League and also crucially
- 14:32keeping them in touching distance of
- 14:34Sweden who could have been running away
- 14:35with this league if they had not got
- 14:37that late equalizer. As for Poland, it
- 14:40was absolute pure ruthlessness from them
- 14:43on Friday night as they played Romania
- 14:45at home. And their legendary striker was
- 14:48once again taking the headlines as
- 14:49Robert Lewandowski scored his seventh
- 14:52hattick for Poland as they won 6 at home
- 14:56to Romania. Now granted, Romania were
- 14:58reduced to 10 men before the first goal
- 15:02was even scored when Lewandowski was
- 15:03brought down in the penalty area before
- 15:05scoring, but that is how you react to a
- 15:08side going down to 10 men by absolutely
- 15:10battering them and scoring six goals.
- 15:12The other goals were an own goal
- 15:14following a Franovski cross, Gielinsky
- 15:16and Bedner, and of course that
- 15:18Lewandowski hattick. Coming into this
- 15:20one though, it is going to be a much
- 15:21tougher away trip for them, but it's
- 15:23going to be a big confidence boost after
- 15:25that 6-nil victory. In terms of the team
- 15:28news, both sides are going to be without
- 15:30their iconic strikers for this one.
- 15:32Joeko now obviously retired from
- 15:34international football following the
- 15:36Sweden game, but Lewandowski is going to
- 15:38be suspended for Poland as well as he
- 15:40picked up yellow cards in both match day
- 15:42two and match day three. Even worse for
- 15:45the home side again though as their
- 15:47goalcorer Allebegovich picked up an
- 15:49injury in the final moments of the
- 15:52Sweden game and he is going to be out of
- 15:54this one as well. Back on match day two
- 15:57it ended in a nil nil draw in Poland. So
- 16:00after Friday night I again think that is
- 16:02an unlikely score line this time around.
- 16:04However, it's not unthinkable especially
- 16:07from a Poland perspective when you think
- 16:08that Lewandowski is now out injured.
- 16:11Should be noted that the last time these
- 16:12two sides met on this ground, Poland
- 16:15actually took the victory. That was back
- 16:17in 2020. Right here, right now, I
- 16:19honestly think either side could take
- 16:21it. I'd probably say Bosnia would be the
- 16:23favorites to take it on night purely as
- 16:25they are the home side here, but I'm not
- 16:27confident enough to go for it. And I'm
- 16:29going to go down the middle once again
- 16:31and go for a draw here between Bosnia
- 16:33and Poland like it was on match day two.
- 16:35But I'm going to put a couple of goals
- 16:37in it this time as well. and I'm going
- 16:39for 1-1 between Bosnia and Poland. The
- 16:42other game in League B group four comes
- 16:45from Romania and we have the bottom side
- 16:47Romania on zero points hosting Sweden
- 16:51who are currently top of the table on
- 16:53seven points at the halfway mark for
- 16:55Romania on Friday night. It was nothing
- 16:58short of an absolute complete disaster
- 17:00with Draashin getting sent off for a
- 17:02push in the penalty area. Although I'll
- 17:05say it, I don't think it was a foul. I
- 17:08genuinely don't. I think once it's been
- 17:10given, V is not going to overturn it.
- 17:13But it was the softest of nudges in the
- 17:16back of Lewandowski, which sent him
- 17:18tumbling to the floor, getting Draashin
- 17:20sent off as a last man not playing the
- 17:23ball tackle in the penalty area. So, not
- 17:25only was it a red card, it was a penalty
- 17:27as well. 1 nil, 2-0, 3-0. Then it got
- 17:31even worse as GA scored an own goal to
- 17:34make it 4-nil and then unfortunately
- 17:365-nil and 6-nil as well as the defense
- 17:39just completely fell apart throughout
- 17:41the game as Poland just kept pushing and
- 17:43pushing. An absolutely shocking night
- 17:45for Georgie and his son Janis who
- 17:48is named captain of the side as well. I
- 17:50don't know how well that's going down in
- 17:52Romania at this point in time. Not a
- 17:55great look for them either ahead of a
- 17:56very tough game against Sweden. As for
- 17:59the away side, well, they had a goal
- 18:01short turf early on in the game against
- 18:03Bosnia as Jockesh accidentally handled
- 18:05the ball before smashing it into the
- 18:07back of the net. In the second half, the
- 18:08Arsenal man was then on target though,
- 18:11breaking in behind and smashing it into
- 18:13the roof of the net to make it three
- 18:15goals in three league games at the start
- 18:18of this campaign. But unfortunately,
- 18:20Sweden could not hold out for the 1- nil
- 18:23victory as some sloppy defending of
- 18:24their own late on from a set play allow
- 18:26a Bosnian cross to find its way all the
- 18:29way in to the back post. And 1-1 it
- 18:32finished, ending Sweden's 100% start to
- 18:34the tournament, but still remaining
- 18:36unbeaten and top of the table at the
- 18:38halfway mark. In terms of the team news
- 18:41for this match, Draashin and Gita are
- 18:44both going to be suspended for this
- 18:45match. Drag him for the red card, GA for
- 18:48two yellow cards. But to be honest,
- 18:49based on the impact that they made with
- 18:51that red card and with their own goal on
- 18:54Friday, they might be grateful to be
- 18:55missing this one. Anyway, as for Sweden,
- 18:58they have had a massive sickness bug
- 19:00sweeping their entire squad over the
- 19:02past few days. I wasn't able to pick it
- 19:03up before the match day three video, and
- 19:05as things stand right now, it's really
- 19:07hard to tell who is actually going to be
- 19:09fit and who is going to be out of this
- 19:11match due to that sickness bug. So, I
- 19:13would genuinely advise keeping an eye on
- 19:16that Sweden starting lineup before
- 19:17making any of your own decisions
- 19:19regarding this fixture. Back on match
- 19:22day two, it was Sweden who only won it
- 19:24by two goals to one at home. However,
- 19:26they also won their most recent visit to
- 19:29Romania as well. That was back in 2019.
- 19:32Obviously, after the way this tournament
- 19:34has gone so far with Sweden winning two
- 19:36out of three and with Romania losing
- 19:38three out of three, it just makes sense
- 19:40to go for Sweden once again here. But
- 19:42with Romania back at home and with
- 19:44Sweden potentially missing multiple key
- 19:46players through illness, it's certainly
- 19:47not out of the question that Romania
- 19:49could still get something. I have to go
- 19:51with the logic though and that says that
- 19:53Sweden take the victory once again. I'm
- 19:55going for a 2n win to the Swedes. And
- 19:59then the final group of the day is the
- 20:01ever unpredictable League A group one
- 20:05which begins today in France as the
- 20:07French take on Belgium in a contest
- 20:09which will be first versus second in
- 20:11this group with France on seven points
- 20:13at the halfway mark and Belgium second
- 20:15on six. On Friday night, France thought
- 20:18they were going to make it three wins
- 20:20out of three when Michael Alisa yet
- 20:22again scored a brilliant goal for them.
- 20:24This time an outrageous free kick into
- 20:26the top corner of the net that put them
- 20:28ahead early on in the second half. But
- 20:30then a massive mistake from Duza in the
- 20:33midfield. A heavy touch allowed Italy to
- 20:36get in behind the defense and equalized.
- 20:38And then to make matters even worse from
- 20:40an individual perspective from the
- 20:42French as they were pushing for their
- 20:44winner late on in the game, they got hit
- 20:46on the counterattack and upper Mano
- 20:49brought down his man. second yellow card
- 20:51that saw him sent off. And then with 10
- 20:54men for the final 10 minutes of the
- 20:55match, it was actually the French that
- 20:57were hanging on to the 1-1 draw rather
- 20:59than pushing on for the winner at home.
- 21:01So ultimately, I still don't think
- 21:03they've been anywhere near their best so
- 21:05far in this competition. A reminder,
- 21:06they've still now only scored one goal
- 21:09per game in this nation's league, but
- 21:11they still have seven points and remain
- 21:13unbeaten at the halfway stage. As for
- 21:16Belgium, well, they finally got the very
- 21:20first home win of this entire group. Six
- 21:23matches, one home win in League A group
- 21:26one. And it was Belgium who did it on
- 21:28Friday night against Turkey. A 3N
- 21:31victory for them with a starring role
- 21:33once again from captain Kevin De Bruyne
- 21:35who scored his first goal in the first
- 21:37half, whipping the ball from outside the
- 21:39area along the floor into the far
- 21:41corner. He then doubled up with an even
- 21:43better strike just after Halime. this
- 21:46time curling it into the top leftand
- 21:47corner from a similar position. Two
- 21:50unbelievable finishes from him. Then
- 21:52Romelu Lukaku off the bench secured the
- 21:54victory to make it three goals to nil.
- 21:56Although it should be noted they're
- 21:58still conceding an awful lot of chances
- 22:00at the other end of the pitch. They just
- 22:02were able to get away with it this time
- 22:04getting their clean sheet and getting
- 22:05the 3-0 win. But against tougher
- 22:07opposition in France and given the
- 22:09amount of chances they gave away to
- 22:10France in the reverse fixture last week,
- 22:13I still think France should be
- 22:14considered the big favorites for this
- 22:16match. In terms of the team news, Deaf
- 22:18Mano is obviously going to be missing
- 22:20for the French following his red card on
- 22:23Friday night, but he will be joined in
- 22:25suspension by two key players for
- 22:28Belgium as both De Bruyne and Tielemans
- 22:32picked up their second yellow cards of
- 22:33the Nations League on Friday night and
- 22:35both of them are going to be suspended
- 22:37for the Belgian side. Could that be the
- 22:40big difference in how this fixture ends
- 22:42up playing? As for the game on match day
- 22:44two, it was the French who picked up the
- 22:461-nil win in Belgium thanks to Alise's
- 22:49lastminute goal following running
- 22:51basically the entire length of the pitch
- 22:53with both sides very likely to make
- 22:55wholesale changes to their starting
- 22:57lineups for one reason or another here.
- 22:59It does make this one certainly harder
- 23:01to call as well as with the Italy game
- 23:03on Friday night. I still have to go for
- 23:06the French victory here because it just
- 23:07makes the most sense to go for a French
- 23:10victory here. But I'm not saying it with
- 23:11an awful lot of confidence. And as we've
- 23:13mentioned already, there's only been one
- 23:14home win in this nation's league group
- 23:17so far. So, watch this space. I'm going
- 23:19for 2-1 to France. But anything could
- 23:21happen here. Then last and certainly not
- 23:24least, we have third versus fourth, but
- 23:26it's four points from Italy as they host
- 23:29Turkey on zero at the halfway mark of
- 23:31this nation's league. For Italy, it was
- 23:34a simply brilliant performance from them
- 23:36once again away in France on Friday
- 23:38night. And realistically they should
- 23:40have won this match and they really
- 23:42should have been two or 3-0 up at Halime
- 23:44but there were some absolutely
- 23:46disastrous misses from Moyes Ken and
- 23:48Facey which really should have put them
- 23:502-0 ahead but nil nil it remained and
- 23:53they were made to pay early on in the
- 23:55second half when the French scored from
- 23:57a free kick but to Italy's credit their
- 23:59persistence paid off. They really pushed
- 24:01them hard. They nick the ball back on
- 24:03the edge of the penalty area and of all
- 24:04people Bastoni picks the ball up edge of
- 24:07the penalty area and absolutely smashes
- 24:10it into the back of the net to make it
- 24:12two goals in two games for him. 1-1 on
- 24:14the night but from there Donnaruma was
- 24:17then required to make a couple of key
- 24:19saves to keep the game at 1-1. But that
- 24:21is how it finished. A very solid
- 24:23performance and four points from Italy's
- 24:25two away games over the past week. That
- 24:27will give them big confidence going into
- 24:29their home game against Turkey here. As
- 24:32for the away side, once again it was all
- 24:34about wasted opportunities from them.
- 24:37Despite being away to Belgium on Friday
- 24:39night, they once again had more attempts
- 24:42on goal in the match. But again, too
- 24:44many of them were from long range. But
- 24:46even when they had big opportunities,
- 24:48players literally in front of the goal,
- 24:50they were still unable to take their
- 24:53chances. And unfortunately for them,
- 24:54their missed chances were made to pay
- 24:56for once again as two De Bruyne
- 24:58screamers and Lukaku's goals meant it
- 25:00ended up being a 3n defeat for Turkey.
- 25:03They're playing good football, but
- 25:05they're being far too sloppy at the back
- 25:07and they're being far too wasteful in
- 25:09front of goal. Against the caliber of
- 25:10opposition that they have in this group,
- 25:12it's no surprise that they end up with
- 25:14zero points at the halfway mark. But if
- 25:16they can get their act together, there
- 25:18are going to be opportunities for them
- 25:19to still get points in the remaining
- 25:21three matches. In terms of the team news
- 25:23coming into this game, no fresh issues
- 25:26for either side ahead of this game. So,
- 25:28we can jump straight in to the
- 25:30head-to-head record where, of course,
- 25:31last week Italy put four past Turkey in
- 25:35the away fixture or the Turkey home
- 25:36fixture. So, I obviously have to make
- 25:39Italy the favorites for this match.
- 25:40Again, don't forget though in that game
- 25:43as with on Friday night, Turkey actually
- 25:45had more efforts on goal. So, it's not
- 25:48out of the question that Turkey can get
- 25:50a result here, especially when you also
- 25:52consider how bad of a run Italy are on
- 25:55at home in the past 18 months. However,
- 25:58you can't overlook the overall results
- 26:00from these two sides over the course of
- 26:02the last couple of weeks. So, obviously,
- 26:04I'm going to go for the Italy victory.
- 26:06I'm not going to go as convincing as it
- 26:07was in Turkey last week, though. I'm
- 26:09just going to go for a 3-1 home win to
- 26:12the Italians. That is going to be it
- 26:14then for day two of match day four of
- 26:17the UEFA Nations League. Before I leave
- 26:19you, let's see what you guys have been
- 26:21saying over on the community page
- 26:23regarding these eight fixtures. You have
- 26:25gone for the following. Basically,
- 26:28everyone thinks that Cyprus are going to
- 26:29win at home to Latia. Basically,
- 26:31everyone thinks that Montenegro are
- 26:32going to win at home to Armenia. The
- 26:34majority think that Northern Ireland
- 26:36will get the victory over Georgia. And
- 26:37the majority think that Ukraine will get
- 26:39the win over Hungary. By far our closest
- 26:42community prediction of the entire
- 26:44tournament so far sees the majority ever
- 26:47so slightly think Poland get the win
- 26:50over Bosnia, but almost as many have
- 26:52Bosnia getting the home win. The
- 26:53majority think that Sweden are going to
- 26:55win away in Romania. The majority think
- 26:57that France are going to win at home to
- 26:58Belgium. And basically everyone thinks
- 27:00Italy are going to beat Turkey. As
- 27:03always, let me know all your thoughts
- 27:05down in the comments section below. What
- 27:06is going to be happening on another
- 27:08fascinating day of Nations League
- 27:10action? As always, a massive thank you
- 27:12very much for watching. We'll be doing
- 27:14this all over again for the 12th and
- 27:16final time of this international break,
- 27:19same time tomorrow morning. So, a
- 27:20massive thank you very much for watching
- 27:21once again and I'll see you tomorrow.
