- 1:14today though, as always, we have got 10
- 1:17La Liga matches for you to kick off your
- 1:19weekend. So, without any further ado,
- 1:21let's get straight into it. The opening
- 1:23game of the weekend starts tonight and
- 1:25it is coming from Riazor where Deportivo
- 1:28are going to be hosting Levante. And
- 1:30right now, neither of these sides are on
- 1:32particularly good runs of form. But,
- 1:34with that being said, Deportivo still
- 1:36remain in eighth place in the table
- 1:38whilst Levante are down in 17th, but
- 1:41they do still have that game in hand. I
- 1:43say both aren't on particularly great
- 1:45runs of form at the moment. That is
- 1:46because both teams come into this four
- 1:49games without a win with both drawing
- 1:51two and losing two. But, last weekend
- 1:54for Deportivo, it was defeat against
- 1:56Real Sociedad in a game where I guess
- 1:59they do deserve some credit for the
- 2:00attempted comeback bringing it back to
- 2:033-2 before the full-time whistle, but
- 2:05three unanswered goals left them too
- 2:07much to do in the second half and even
- 2:09when Sociedad went down to 10 men, yes,
- 2:12they did produce that fight back to 3-2,
- 2:14but unfortunately it wasn't enough for
- 2:15them to get anything from that match. As
- 2:18for Levante, they had an even crazier
- 2:21game than that when they were at home to
- 2:23Sevilla because there were three goals
- 2:25in stoppage time initially in the match.
- 2:28Sevilla had led by two goals to nil
- 2:30before Romero got them back into it at
- 2:322-1 and then in stoppage time Dela
- 2:35Fuente got them level. Sevilla then went
- 2:37on to score again, but their goalscorer
- 2:40then got sent off only for Undabarrena,
- 2:43the man on loan from Liverpool, to step
- 2:45up in the 100th minute of the match to
- 2:48salvage a 3-3 draw. So, off the back of
- 2:51that, surely that is going to give them
- 2:53some little bit of a lift going into
- 2:55this fixture, but the result suggests
- 2:57it's going to be tough for them and they
- 2:58are yet to have an away win so far this
- 3:01season. In terms of the team news,
- 3:03Amatucci is going to be suspended for
- 3:05this game as he was sent off for
- 3:07Deportivo in stoppage time against
- 3:08Sociedad last weekend. No fresh concerns
- 3:11for Levante ahead of this fixture. When
- 3:14these two sides last met, it was in La
- 3:16Liga 2 where home and away Levante won
- 3:19by two goals to one. Based on recent
- 3:21matches, I'd probably say a Levante win
- 3:23remains the least likely outcome coming
- 3:25into this, but with Deportivo's recent
- 3:28dip in form as well, I'm not confident
- 3:30enough to give them the victory either.
- 3:32Think it's going to be an entertaining
- 3:33one. Think we're going to see a lot of
- 3:34goals. I'm starting this weekend with a
- 3:372-2 draw between Deportivo and Levante.
- 3:40The opening game from Saturday is going
- 3:42to be coming from Espanyol and it is the
- 3:44side 11th in the table hosting Atletico
- 3:47Madrid up in second. The home side
- 3:50continue to be inconsistent over the
- 3:53course of the last few weeks and it is
- 3:54only one win in five for them ahead of
- 3:56this game. They do come into this off
- 3:58the back of a 1-1 draw. Unfortunately
- 4:01though, that was against bottom Malaga,
- 4:03and even though they led early on in
- 4:05that game thanks to a great goal from
- 4:07Zarragotha, they didn't really have much
- 4:09else to show from that match other than
- 4:11an attempted backheel that was cleared
- 4:14off the line. And at the end of the
- 4:15game, Malaga had more attempts on goal,
- 4:17they had more possession, and it was no
- 4:19surprise that they ended up getting an
- 4:21equalizer, although it will be
- 4:22frustrating for Espanyol cuz it did come
- 4:24in stoppage time. But even so, after
- 4:27back-to-back defeats, a draw last week
- 4:29is still a step in the right direction.
- 4:31As for Atletico Madrid, they are simply
- 4:33flying at the moment. They have had five
- 4:35wins in a row in all competitions, four
- 4:38of them in the league, including last
- 4:40weekend in a 2-1 victory away to Alaves.
- 4:43Although it should be noted that they
- 4:44did need a late goal to grab all three
- 4:46points when Christian Romero got the
- 4:48winner in the 87th minute, and that was
- 4:50after Alaves were down to 10 men. So, it
- 4:52wasn't the most convincing result from
- 4:54them. They did back that up though with
- 4:56another strong performance in midweek in
- 4:58the Champions League when they beat
- 4:59Manchester United by two goals to nil
- 5:01thanks to a Barrios goal in the first
- 5:03minute, and then Adam Ounas Lookman late
- 5:05on. Again, though, only after Manchester
- 5:08United had gone down to 10 men. However,
- 5:10regardless, after five wins in a row,
- 5:12they will undoubtedly come into this one
- 5:14as favorites. In terms of the team news,
- 5:16Espanyol are still likely to be without
- 5:17first-choice goalkeeper Dmitrovic, who
- 5:19missed the draw last weekend. Atletico
- 5:21Madrid have no fresh issues coming out
- 5:22of the Champions League with another
- 5:24Champions League fixture next week as
- 5:26well. It is expected that we do see some
- 5:28rotation here. Last season, both sides
- 5:31won at home, and in fact, Espanyol have
- 5:34only lost once to Atletico Madrid in the
- 5:36last seven meetings here. So, they
- 5:38absolutely know what it takes to get a
- 5:40result against this side. Personally,
- 5:42with the runs that these two are on, I
- 5:44still think Atletico Madrid win is by
- 5:46far the most likely outcome. But if
- 5:48Atletico do over-rotate their squad with
- 5:51Champions League in mind, Espanyol might
- 5:53have a shot of grabbing something once
- 5:55again. I am going though for a 2-1 win
- 5:58to Atletico Madrid. The second game on
- 6:01Saturday will see Villarreal taking on
- 6:03Elche. Villarreal now 11th in La Liga
- 6:06following unfortunately for them another
- 6:08defeat last weekend. Although it was a
- 6:10result that hardly slowed their overall
- 6:12momentum and it was only a 1-0 defeat
- 6:15away to Real Madrid. And in fact,
- 6:17statistically they actually created more
- 6:19chances and had more possession in that
- 6:21match. They were just unable to take the
- 6:23chances when they came and they were
- 6:24punished in the second half. That wasn't
- 6:26the case in midweek though because in
- 6:28the Champions League against Italian
- 6:30side Napoli, they found their clinical
- 6:31touch once again with goals from
- 6:33Chukwueze, Moreno and Oliver Sahi making
- 6:36them get a 3-1 victory after going
- 6:39behind early on in that match. Now
- 6:41following back-to-back home wins,
- 6:43they'll fancy their chances of getting
- 6:44their third one here. As for Elche,
- 6:47their game last week was pretty much
- 6:49exactly what I expected against Celta
- 6:51Vigo where near enough nothing of note
- 6:54happened. There was literally one big
- 6:56chance in the entire match. It came in
- 6:58the last minute of the match and it came
- 7:00for Celta Vigo. It was literally a case
- 7:02of two very out of form sides playing
- 7:05some pretty bad football and now against
- 7:07the Villarreal side that seems to be
- 7:09rediscovering their form, you do fear
- 7:11for Elche getting anything from this
- 7:13one. In terms of the team news, as far
- 7:14as I could find, no fresh concerns for
- 7:17either side coming into this game but
- 7:18once again with more Champions League
- 7:20football next week, Villarreal are
- 7:22expected to make some changes. Last
- 7:24season Villarreal won both home and away
- 7:27and Elche failed to score on either of
- 7:29those occasions either. With how last
- 7:31week went and with Villarreal's overall
- 7:33recent form, I think it'll be very
- 7:34similar this time around as well. I'm
- 7:37going for a 2-0 win to Villarreal. The
- 7:40penultimate game on Saturday is without
- 7:43any doubt in my opinion the game of the
- 7:45weekend as we have third place Real
- 7:47Betis taking on top of the table
- 7:49Barcelona and what an outstanding run of
- 7:51form both of these sides are on right
- 7:54now. Real Betis are unbeaten in their
- 7:56last seven matches winning six of those
- 7:58seven and have won every single home
- 8:01game so far this season and that
- 8:03includes beating Real Madrid here before
- 8:05the international break and then this
- 8:07week alone they've scored eight goals on
- 8:10this ground. Firstly, against Osasuna in
- 8:12the league thanks to an Isco double, Ez
- 8:14Abde an own goal and then Morante
- 8:16rounding off the rout and then in
- 8:18midweek in a brilliant clash against FC
- 8:21Porto they came from behind to win the
- 8:23game 3-2 in the Champions League. Again,
- 8:25Isco and Ez Abde with two goals before
- 8:27then Kucho Hernandez grabbed the winner
- 8:30late on. The only problem for Real Betis
- 8:32coming into this match is they're facing
- 8:34a Barcelona side that has literally won
- 8:37every single game so far this season
- 8:40including also winning twice this week.
- 8:42Firstly, at home to Getafe in La Liga
- 8:44thanks to goals from Gabriel Jesus,
- 8:46Anthony Gordon and Jules Kounde and then
- 8:48backed that up with an even more
- 8:49impressive performance in a 4-1 away win
- 8:52to Galatasaray in the Champions League
- 8:54thanks to Joao Cancelo, Fermin Lopez,
- 8:56Gordon again and then finally Adeyemi.
- 8:58So, as far as I'm concerned we could be
- 9:00in for a real epic clash here. In terms
- 9:03of the team news once again, no fresh
- 9:05concerns for either side but again, with
- 9:07both in Champions League action next
- 9:09weekend it'll be interesting to see how
- 9:11many if any of their big names are
- 9:14benched ahead of this one. Last season
- 9:16it was an absolute epic between these
- 9:18two sides with Barcelona winning home
- 9:20and away but on this ground it ended up
- 9:23being 5-3
- 9:25to Barcelona. With the current form of
- 9:27these two sides I wouldn't put it past
- 9:29it being a very similar story this time
- 9:31around. I'm not going to go that crazy
- 9:33and predict something along those lines
- 9:35and I simply can't back against
- 9:37Barcelona right now but for me this is
- 9:39their first big big test of the season
- 9:42so far. Let's see if they pass it. I am
- 9:44going for Barcelona but I think it's
- 9:46going to be close. I'm going 3-2 to the
- 9:49side from Catalonia. The final game on
- 9:51Saturday is going to be Valencia taking
- 9:53on Athletic Club Bilbao or at least I
- 9:55hope it's going to be the final game on
- 9:57Saturday because last week for the
- 9:58second time this season already Bilbao
- 10:01have had a game called off. This time it
- 10:03was against Rayo Vallecano but I'll
- 10:05explain why when I get to their
- 10:07prediction later on. Incredibly though,
- 10:09despite playing two games less than
- 10:11Valencia so far this season, they still
- 10:13come into this match nine places ahead
- 10:16them in the table and three points as
- 10:18well as Valencia come into this having
- 10:20still only won one league game all
- 10:22season, but at least they were able to
- 10:23get a draw away from home to Racing
- 10:25Santander last weekend in a game which
- 10:27they actually started very brightly,
- 10:29scoring after two minutes through Raba,
- 10:31but once again the defense let them down
- 10:34and two minutes into the second half
- 10:36they found themselves 2-1 down, but
- 10:38unlike in other occasions so far this
- 10:40season, this time they were able to pick
- 10:42themselves back up, they were able to go
- 10:44again, they were able to find an
- 10:45equalizer for Villatoro, but all in all
- 10:48it's not a great look for them. They
- 10:49still have lost every single match so
- 10:52far at home and I don't think it's going
- 10:54to get any easier for them against
- 10:56Bilbao here. In terms of the team news,
- 10:58no fresh concerns for Valencia, but
- 11:00Aguirre continues to tinker with his new
- 11:02squad. Some of the new players made a
- 11:04difference last week, let's see what he
- 11:06does this week. For Bilbao, Laporte and
- 11:08San Jose remain the only real doubts for
- 11:10them, but the actual real issue for them
- 11:13coming into this game is it's been
- 11:14nearly a month since they've actually
- 11:16played a competitive match. Now,
- 11:18obviously that could make them a bit
- 11:20rusty, but it also means that they
- 11:21remain four games unbeaten. Last season
- 11:25both sides won this fixture away from
- 11:27home in what has been a very
- 11:28inconsistent head-to-head record between
- 11:31these two clubs. For me, the combo of
- 11:33the new manager for Valencia and with
- 11:35Bilbao being a little bit rusty, being
- 11:37so long after playing their last game, I
- 11:39do think Valencia have a very good
- 11:41chance of getting a result. For me, it's
- 11:43not a result that they're going to win,
- 11:45but I'm going to give them the benefit
- 11:46of the doubt and give them a point. For
- 11:48me, Bilbao still slight favorites, but
- 11:50I'm going for 1-1 in this one. The first
- 11:54game on Sunday then sees two sides very
- 11:57much out of form going head-to-head as
- 11:59we have Osasuna taking on Racing
- 12:01Santander. Osasuna come into this
- 12:03currently 16th in La Liga without a win
- 12:06in their last five and Racing come into
- 12:09this 15th in the table without a win in
- 12:12their last three. However, I'll start
- 12:14off with Osasuna because I do feel a
- 12:16little bit sorry for them after last
- 12:17week because the 5-2 scoreline they got
- 12:20away at Real Betis doesn't really give a
- 12:21true reflection of their efforts. Now,
- 12:23granted, they were 3-0 down in the match
- 12:26and by their own making by giving away a
- 12:28penalty and Budimir scoring an own goal,
- 12:30but they came out for the second half
- 12:32pretty damn strong with Budimir
- 12:33canceling out his own goal and then
- 12:35Garcia making it 3-2 just 5 minutes
- 12:37later and it looked like the comeback
- 12:39would be on. Unfortunately, they weren't
- 12:42able to sustain that pressure and ended
- 12:43up conceding two more late on. Like I
- 12:45said, not really a fair reflection, but
- 12:47ultimately it was still the right
- 12:49result. For Racing, it was another poor
- 12:51start for them as they befell behind
- 12:53just 2 minutes into their game against
- 12:55Valencia and it was to a former player,
- 12:57no less. It seems the days of those fast
- 13:00starts that they got in the first few
- 13:01game weeks are now far behind them, but
- 13:03at least they still have one man they
- 13:04can rely on in Sabiri who kept his good
- 13:07goal-scoring run going before halftime.
- 13:09They did find a quick start to the
- 13:11second half, however, scoring just 2
- 13:13minutes into that through Martan, but
- 13:15this time, just like in the first half,
- 13:17it was their turn to throw away a lead
- 13:19and it ended up finishing 2-2. But to be
- 13:22fair to them, after back-to-back
- 13:23thrashings in Gameweek 7 and 8, I think
- 13:25they can be a little bit happier with
- 13:27that point. However, it does leave them
- 13:29very close to the relegation zone. In
- 13:31terms of the team news, no fresh issues
- 13:33for either side. Now, after somewhat
- 13:35better performances last week, I think
- 13:37both sides will stick to very similar
- 13:39lineups this time around. In terms of
- 13:41head-to-head, it's been over a decade
- 13:43since these two sides last met, so we
- 13:45can't really read much into that. With
- 13:47the overall form of these two sides, I
- 13:49really do think this one could end up
- 13:51going either way, but right now, I do
- 13:53think Osasuna will come into this ever
- 13:54so slight favorites. In my opinion, no
- 13:57result is a surprise here, but I am
- 13:59going to back the home side and I'm
- 14:00going to go for a 2-1 win to Osasuna.
- 14:04Staying with sides out of form for game
- 14:06two on Sunday, we now have Celta Vigo
- 14:09taking on Alaves. For Celta Vigo, it's
- 14:11just one league win for them all season,
- 14:13but they do have five draws behind them,
- 14:16and that's now seen them up to ninth.
- 14:18Whilst for Alaves, it is no win in four
- 14:21and three defeats in those four games,
- 14:22which now sees them only two places
- 14:25above Celta Vigo in seventh. Last
- 14:27weekend for Celta Vigo, it was their
- 14:29fourth draw in just five La Liga
- 14:31matches, as they could only manage a
- 14:32nil-nil away to Elche. But, I guess at
- 14:35least that's now five games unbeaten in
- 14:38the league, but they really should have
- 14:39won the match in the final minute of it,
- 14:41when Joryci got clean through on goal,
- 14:431v1, and he absolutely spooned the ball
- 14:47wide of the goal, and nil-nil is how it
- 14:49finished. They were on track to get a
- 14:51good result in midweek against Juventus
- 14:53as well in the Europa League, where they
- 14:54actually led in the match before then
- 14:56conceding midway through the second
- 14:58half, and then conceding a stoppage time
- 15:00winner. So, they ended up losing their
- 15:02first two games in Europe as well. As
- 15:04for Alaves, they were never likely to
- 15:06get much from their game against
- 15:08Atletico Madrid, but they certainly gave
- 15:09it a good go, especially in the first
- 15:11half, where they had plenty of chances
- 15:13to go ahead in the match before actually
- 15:15falling behind. Right on halftime,
- 15:17though, they were level when Tony
- 15:18Martinez was dragged down in the box,
- 15:20and Lucas Boye stepped up to convert the
- 15:22penalty. The game really changed in the
- 15:24second half, though, when Perez was sent
- 15:26off. No doubt about it, a shocking
- 15:28challenge, definitely a red card. And
- 15:30unfortunately, with 10 men, they weren't
- 15:32able to hold out against Atletico
- 15:33Madrid's pressure, and they were able to
- 15:35grab a late winner. But, after three
- 15:37poor performances, it was some sign of
- 15:39improvement from Alaves here. In terms
- 15:41of the team news, at Celta, are likely
- 15:43to be without Bojan Iglesias, who also
- 15:45missed the game against Juventus on
- 15:47Thursday night. Following the red card,
- 15:49Perez will be suspended for Alaves. Last
- 15:52season, both sides won away from home,
- 15:54with Alaves winning a staggering match
- 15:56on this ground that ended 4-3 to the
- 15:59away side. On the current form of these
- 16:01two sides, that scoreline would
- 16:02certainly be a shock for me this time
- 16:04around. And given the overall form, for
- 16:06me, there is only one result that makes
- 16:08sense right now. And unfortunately for
- 16:09Celta Vigo, it is yet another draw. If I
- 16:13was going to pick a winner, I probably
- 16:14would still go for them, but I'm going
- 16:16for that also famous Celta Vigo 1-1 that
- 16:19seem to plague these videos last season.
- 16:21I'm going it for again here. 1-1 Celta
- 16:24Vigo and Alaves. Penultimate game on
- 16:27Sunday now sees bottom of the side
- 16:30Malaga taking on sixth place Real
- 16:32Sociedad. For Malaga, you can argue they
- 16:34were slightly better in their last game
- 16:36although they started it very poorly
- 16:38falling behind in the opening 15 minutes
- 16:40against Espanyol before then needing a
- 16:42couple of other goal line clearances to
- 16:44keep it at 1-0 half time. In the second
- 16:47half though, they started to create
- 16:48their moments, they gained control of
- 16:49the game, kept pushing, couldn't find a
- 16:52goal but then they eventually got their
- 16:53award in stoppage time when Nino's
- 16:56brilliant volley was able to salvage
- 16:58them a point, but it still leaves them
- 17:00bottom of the table, no wins in any of
- 17:02their eight matches so far, they've only
- 17:05scored four goals in those eight games
- 17:07as well. As for Real Sociedad, they were
- 17:09in full control of their game against
- 17:11Deportivo La Coruna in the first half
- 17:13with goals from Martin and Zacar with
- 17:16Garazo Gallesh putting them 3-0 up at
- 17:18the start of the second half, but then
- 17:20they did their absolute best to throw
- 17:21that game away as Deportivo pulled one
- 17:24back, then Marin pulled a Deportivo
- 17:26forward down the penalty area. He got
- 17:28sent off, Deportivo scored the penalty
- 17:31and then to their credit, they were able
- 17:32to hold out for the final 30 minutes of
- 17:34the match, but still a situation they
- 17:36didn't want to be in given the position
- 17:38they were in. In midweek, they then
- 17:40faced a very tough trip away from home
- 17:42to Union San Gilloise in Belgium in the
- 17:44Europa League where they were 2 minutes
- 17:47away from securing a very good victory,
- 17:49but unfortunately, they weren't able to
- 17:51hold out, but they'll take the 1-1 draw
- 17:53cuz it also means they're unbeaten in
- 17:55their last three games in all
- 17:57competitions. In terms of the team news,
- 17:59no fresh concerns for Malaga, but Marin
- 18:02is going to be suspended for Real
- 18:03Sociedad. Last time these two sides met
- 18:06was in the Copa del Rey just 2 years ago
- 18:08with Sociedad taking the 1-0 victory
- 18:10here. The last league meeting between
- 18:12these two sides was back in 2018 so we
- 18:15can't really read too much into that.
- 18:17For me, the form guide is all you really
- 18:19need to see when it comes to this game.
- 18:21Maybe at a push, Malaga could sneak
- 18:23another draw with Sociedad again playing
- 18:25in Europe next week, but I'd be
- 18:27surprised if this is anything other than
- 18:29a Sociedad victory. I'm going for a 2-0
- 18:32win to the away side. The final game on
- 18:35Sunday then is the other massive game
- 18:37from La Liga this weekend. So, we now
- 18:39have fourth place Real Madrid taking on
- 18:41fifth place Sevilla. It's been a pretty
- 18:43mixed week in terms of performances from
- 18:46Real Madrid, but there are no doubts
- 18:48over the results as last weekend they
- 18:50saw off Villarreal by one goal to nil
- 18:52thanks to the narrowest of offside calls
- 18:55going in their Monday's favor. And
- 18:56despite Vinicius Junior getting sent off
- 18:58for hair pulling, they were able to hold
- 19:00on to the clean sheet in the end. In
- 19:02midweek though, it was nothing but pure
- 19:05chaos because in Rome, they found
- 19:07themselves 3-1 down in the Champions
- 19:09League. But then in the final 10 minutes
- 19:11of the match, three corners produced
- 19:14three goals and incredibly Los Blancos
- 19:16turned it around to win it 4-3 and
- 19:19secure all three points in the match.
- 19:21Question is now, can they build on that
- 19:23momentum here ahead of another Champions
- 19:25League game in midweek? For Sevilla,
- 19:27well, they only have themselves to blame
- 19:30for the two points that they threw away
- 19:32against Levante. 2-0 up thanks to Oray
- 19:34and Correa, but then after letting
- 19:36Levante level in stoppage time, they
- 19:39thought they'd won it again when Isaac
- 19:41Romero's wonder strike put them 3-2 up.
- 19:43He then massively over celebrated and
- 19:46got himself sent off. And with 10 men,
- 19:48there was still time left for Levante to
- 19:51equalize in the 100th minute of the
- 19:53match, meaning that it ended in a draw.
- 19:55And that really is not the best
- 19:57preparation and not the right mentality
- 19:59to take into such a big game against
- 20:01Real Madrid. In terms of the team news,
- 20:03Vinicius has been given a four-match
- 20:05ban, so he is going to be out for them.
- 20:07Similarly, following that red card,
- 20:09Romero is going to be suspended for
- 20:11Sevilla as well. As for the head-to-head
- 20:13record, it is massively in favor of Real
- 20:16Madrid. They have won the last five home
- 20:18or away against Sevilla and haven't lost
- 20:20in any competition since 2018 against
- 20:24them. As things stand, this might be
- 20:26Sevilla's best chance of correcting
- 20:28that, but personally, I still think Real
- 20:30Madrid will just about be too much for
- 20:32them. I'm going for a 2-1 win to Madrid.
- 20:36And then finally, we have the Monday
- 20:38night football coming from Getafe, a
- 20:40side now in 14th place in La Liga, and
- 20:43they'll be playing the side directly
- 20:44above them in Rayo Vallecano. But a
- 20:46Vallecano side that has a game in hand
- 20:49after their game last week was called
- 20:51off in some very bizarre circumstances.
- 20:53Basically, Vallecano fans are protesting
- 20:56against their owners at the moment. In
- 20:57the 13th minute of the match against
- 20:59Bilbao last week, they basically threw
- 21:02all of their earthly possessions onto
- 21:04the pitch, and they kept doing it over
- 21:07and over and over again until
- 21:09eventually, the referee had to call the
- 21:11game off. At this point, I have no idea
- 21:13what punishment is going to be in line
- 21:14for the club, but it does mean that they
- 21:16also have now not played a competitive
- 21:18match for almost a month. So, as far as
- 21:20I'm concerned, they're not in the best
- 21:22sort of state coming into this, and
- 21:23especially when you put on top of that,
- 21:25the fact that they failed to win away
- 21:26from home so far this season with one
- 21:28draw and three defeats from their four
- 21:31away games. As for Getafe, though, they
- 21:34quite frankly didn't stand a chance last
- 21:36weekend against Barcelona, and just
- 21:38listen to this stat. Across the
- 21:4090-minute match, they had only 17%
- 21:45possession. That means they only have
- 21:46the ball for 15 of the 90 minutes in
- 21:50that match. no surprise that they ended
- 21:52up losing it by three goals to nil. And
- 21:54if anything, they were lucky it didn't
- 21:56end up being a heavier defeat. That
- 21:58ultimately means they come into this
- 21:59with just one win from their last six
- 22:01games in the league. In midweek, it
- 22:04didn't get much better for them as they
- 22:05were away to Craiova, where they could
- 22:07only manage a 1-1 draw, a 1-1 draw that
- 22:10I actually predicted in that video a
- 22:12couple of days ago. But that also means
- 22:14they really have no momentum coming into
- 22:17this match. In terms of the team news,
- 22:19Getafe are also seriously struggling in
- 22:22the striker department, and as things
- 22:23stand, Borja Mayoral is the only fit
- 22:26forward they have available as the other
- 22:28four options are all out injured. After
- 22:31such a long break, there is literally no
- 22:33fresh concerns with Vallecano, but the
- 22:36question is it going to be what sort of
- 22:37frame of mind are those players going to
- 22:39be in after the antics of the crowd last
- 22:41week. Last season, Vallecano won here by
- 22:44two goals to nil, and they're actually
- 22:45unbeaten in all of their last 10
- 22:47meetings between Vallecano and Getafe.
- 22:50With the form of the home side, I can
- 22:52see Vallecano taking the victory here as
- 22:54well. Not as convincingly as last
- 22:56season, though. I'm going to end this
- 22:58weekend's predictions with a 1-0 win to
- 23:01Rayo Vallecano, but it could still go
- 23:03either way. That is going to be it then
- 23:06for this weekend's Gameweek 9 of La
- 23:08Liga. As always, a massive thank you
- 23:10very much for watching. Don't forget to
- 23:12let me know all of your thoughts down in
- 23:13the comment section below. And speaking
- 23:14of your thoughts, before I leave you,
- 23:16let's round up what you guys have been
- 23:18saying over on the community cage
- 23:19regarding these 10 fixtures. You have
- 23:22gone for the following. The majority
- 23:25think that Deportivo are going to beat
- 23:27Levante. Basically, everyone thinks
- 23:29Atletico are going to beat Espanyol.
- 23:30Basically, everyone thinks Villarreal
- 23:32are going to beat Elche. The vast
- 23:33majority do think Barcelona are going to
- 23:35beat Real Betis. There's not a lot of
- 23:37people going for draws this week, I've
- 23:39just noticed. Very close between
- 23:40Valencia and Bilbao, but the majority
- 23:42just about going for Bilbao. Basically,
- 23:45everyone thinks Osasuna are going to
- 23:46beat Racing Santander. I thought that
- 23:48would be a little bit closer. The
- 23:50majority thinks Celta Vigo are going to
- 23:51beat Alaves. Basically, everyone thinks
- 23:53Sassuolo are going to beat Malaga. The
- 23:54majority think Real Madrid are going to
- 23:56beat Sevilla, and the majority as things
- 23:57stand think that Getafe can beat Rayo
- 24:00Vallecano. Of course, a reminder that if
- 24:02you still want to see even more
- 24:04up-to-date community polls, you can go
- 24:06back to these polls over on the
- 24:07community page right now. And if you are
- 24:09over there, don't forget to vote on the
- 24:11remaining matches we'll be doing over
- 24:12this week and next week, including all
- 24:14of those Champions League, Europa
- 24:16League, and Conference League games. I
- 24:18will leave you with a final thank you
- 24:20very much for watching once again, and
- 24:21I'll see you very, very
