My Exact ATAS Footprint Settings for Futures Order Flow Trading — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00What's up? It's Thrax. I'm going to be
- 0:02going over a quick video on just how to
- 0:04set up your ATS or how I set up my ATOSS
- 0:07and my cluster settings to get it to
- 0:09look like this. In my last video that I
- 0:12created in regards to my footprint
- 0:14charts and my footprint setups that I
- 0:16use to trade, I was getting a handful of
- 0:19comments just asking how to set it up.
- 0:22So, I'll go over it in this video for
- 0:24you guys. And just to make it easy, I am
- 0:26going to include the actual CTS template
- 0:28file for TOSS down in the description
- 0:31below. So you can download it. And after
- 0:33you do download it, to make it really
- 0:36simple, you can just go to settings,
- 0:38templates, import, and then you would
- 0:41select the thrax cluster settings, and
- 0:43then you can import it, and your chart
- 0:45will then automatically look like this.
- 0:47But I will be going over the settings a
- 0:50little bit more in depth just so that
- 0:52you know what to change or you know how
- 0:54you can change it just to get it to show
- 0:57what you're actually looking for. And
- 0:59I'll go over the indicators I use on A
- 1:01toss itself when I'm trading on this
- 1:04platform. So to get to the actual
- 1:06settings if you didn't know, you would
- 1:09just rightclick, you go to settings, and
- 1:11you have a couple different settings
- 1:13here. You have visual settings, cluster
- 1:15settings, your trading settings, and
- 1:18then templates. So, visual settings are
- 1:20just things like uh the background and
- 1:23um showing current price and colors and
- 1:27things like that. You can mess around
- 1:28with that on your own. I'm not really
- 1:30going to go over that in this video. Um
- 1:32what I am going to go over is what you
- 1:35guys were requesting, which is the
- 1:37cluster settings. So specifically for
- 1:40the cluster settings that I use, you
- 1:42have two main things here. You have
- 1:44content and you have mode. In the
- 1:46content, what I'm always looking at is
- 1:49I'm looking bid times ask. And so
- 1:51essentially what bid times ask is going
- 1:53to show us is when you do zoom in,
- 1:56that's when it's going to show the bid
- 1:58on the left side, the ask on the right
- 2:00side. And you're reading it the same way
- 2:02that I went over in the last video. So
- 2:04you're reading it diagonally, not
- 2:06horizontally. if you are reading the
- 2:08numbers. So, bid times ask is going to
- 2:11be the content that we want inside of
- 2:13the candles. And then there's a couple
- 2:16different things you can actually do
- 2:17here for the mode. So, in the previous
- 2:19video, I did have people asking me how I
- 2:23got the PC to only show up on the bid or
- 2:25on the ask. If you wanted to do that,
- 2:28the mode that you need to be on is bid
- 2:30ask ladder. So, if you see when I
- 2:33changed to bid ask ladder, now you have
- 2:35the PC only on one side of the candle,
- 2:39whether it's the ask or the bid. I
- 2:41actually don't use this anymore. I
- 2:44recently have been using the volume
- 2:45profile. The reason why I use the volume
- 2:48profile, just so you know, is because
- 2:50when you see these shaded areas or these
- 2:52clouds, this is where the most amount of
- 2:55volume obviously was traded in the
- 2:56candle. It's just easier to visualize in
- 2:59my opinion with the volume proportion
- 3:02rather than using the bid ask ladder and
- 3:06I can still look at delta and look at
- 3:08the numbers themselves to understand
- 3:11where more of that volume was happening
- 3:13whether it was on the bid or it was on
- 3:15the ask. So recently I've just been
- 3:17using it this way um where instead of it
- 3:20being on only one side it's showing just
- 3:22the actual level where the PC was for
- 3:24the candle itself. You can do it with
- 3:26the bit ask ladder if you want to.
- 3:29That's how I had it in the other video,
- 3:31but I no longer do that. I do it now
- 3:33where it's on the same level. So, in the
- 3:36color scheme, this is what's going to be
- 3:38showing up inside the actual candle.
- 3:40What I typically keep it on is volume
- 3:42proportion because I'm trying to
- 3:44understand within the candle where
- 3:46majority of the volume was actually
- 3:48traded in the candle. So, in my case, I
- 3:51am using volume proportion with the
- 3:53volume profile. If you wanted to use
- 3:55something else, you absolutely could.
- 3:57For example, if you want to use the bid
- 3:59ask ladder and you wanted to see whether
- 4:02you know the most amount of volume or
- 4:04the PC was on the bid or the ask and
- 4:07instead of looking at volume, you wanted
- 4:09to look at delta. Um, you can do that
- 4:13and it will shade in the candles
- 4:16differently. This is how I had it on the
- 4:19video where you guys watched last time
- 4:22in regards to my reversal setup that I
- 4:25look for in footprint. Like I said, I
- 4:28did change it. So, you know, I'm looking
- 4:30at volume profile and I'm not looking at
- 4:31delta because I have delta down here
- 4:34that I can pay attention to. I don't
- 4:36need to look at it within the actual
- 4:38candle itself for the specific type of
- 4:40trading that I'm doing. So I just keep
- 4:42it on volume proportion just so that I
- 4:44can see these clouds even when I'm kind
- 4:46of zoomed out. So after that essentially
- 4:49what you're doing now is you're just
- 4:50changing the colors of what's inside the
- 4:52candle. So now for you know volume
- 4:55proportion if you're on this the main
- 4:57color being blue that's when the cloud
- 4:59of volume here is blue. If you want it
- 5:01to be a different color you can change
- 5:03it. And then down here maximum level
- 5:07this is how you actually get the PC on
- 5:09your chart. So you would choose volume
- 5:12because the point of control is
- 5:14volumebased. We're looking at volume. If
- 5:17you wanted to look at something else
- 5:18like let's say you had this as negative
- 5:20delta, this is not the P. This is
- 5:24something completely different. So if
- 5:26you want to look at the PC, you're going
- 5:28to be using volume. Now it's going to
- 5:31show you where the most amount of volume
- 5:32was traded within that specific candle.
- 5:35Doesn't matter what time frame it is.
- 5:37This charts on a 3minut time frame. This
- 5:39chart's on the five minute and I also
- 5:41have a 15minute and a hourly candle on
- 5:45another chart that's on a different
- 5:47screen. After that, what I do is I
- 5:50enable bid ask imbalance settings. So
- 5:54essentially what this is is when there
- 5:58is a certain amount of
- 6:00buyers then sellers or sellers then
- 6:03buyers, we're looking for imbalances
- 6:05within the candle itself so that we can
- 6:07get an idea of who's in control and
- 6:10where direction is going. And the way
- 6:12that I do that or the way that you would
- 6:14do it is you would essentially enable
- 6:16it. And when you enable it, you can
- 6:18select the colors because I have a
- 6:21darker background. Um, I keep it white.
- 6:24And so essentially what that looks like
- 6:26is when you have more sellers, see here,
- 6:29there were more sellers aggressively
- 6:30hitting the bid than buyers hitting the
- 6:33ask because there was an imbalance here.
- 6:36They bas I basically have it showing up
- 6:38in a bold font. And that bold font, I
- 6:42want it to be white. If you have a
- 6:45different background, maybe you want it
- 6:47to be a different color. And if that's
- 6:49the case, then you're going to change it
- 6:51here. So you would change it in this
- 6:54area. The imbalance rate is important
- 6:57because this is essentially a
- 6:58percentage. You can keep it to 300 or
- 7:02400 or even 500. Personally, I keep it
- 7:06at 400%. So I'm looking for 400%
- 7:10imbalances on either side of the bid in
- 7:12the ask. So that means like if there
- 7:15were four times as many buyers and
- 7:17sellers, it's going to show up in bold.
- 7:19If there's four times as many sellers
- 7:20than buyers, it's going to show up in
- 7:22bold. And then I do have a volume filter
- 7:25here. So I don't want to have like a
- 7:27super low volume candle that only has a
- 7:30couple contracts traded at each level
- 7:32and then is then showing a bunch of
- 7:35imbalances because those don't really
- 7:36matter. What I am looking for is I'm
- 7:40looking for when there is volume in the
- 7:42candle that essentially the imbalances
- 7:46that are four times the other side of
- 7:49the bid in the ask I am looking for
- 7:52imbalances then. So for example when we
- 7:55have it filtering out 10 so it needs at
- 7:58least 10 contracts to count towards a
- 8:01imbalance and then it needs to be four
- 8:04times the amount. So if we look at it
- 8:06like let's say in this candle. So you
- 8:09see how we have 126 to 0 122 to 10 36 to
- 8:141 35 to 1 32 to 0 42 to 0 18 to 0. This
- 8:20is what's showing up imbalances on my
- 8:23screen.
- 8:25And I use these as sometimes areas of
- 8:29support and resistance depending on if
- 8:31it was sellers or buyers. And I actually
- 8:33have an indicator for that which I'll go
- 8:35over in a second. But that is really
- 8:37about it for the cluster settings. It's
- 8:40pretty simple. Although I know it's it's
- 8:44easier if I do make a video on it so
- 8:46that you guys can just set it up really
- 8:47quick. So just a quick recap. The
- 8:49cluster settings, the content I have it
- 8:51bid times ask. Volume profile is the
- 8:54mode that I'm on currently that you're
- 8:56looking at on my screen. If you want it
- 8:58to have the PC only on either the bid or
- 9:00only on the ask, then you're going to
- 9:02use the bid ask ladder and then the
- 9:05color scheme below. I keep it on volume.
- 9:08If you don't want to look at volume for
- 9:10whatever reason and you wanted to look
- 9:12at delta or heat map by trades or
- 9:17whatever, then go ahead go ahead and
- 9:19change it right there. And then again
- 9:21down here, you want to make sure your
- 9:23maximum level is volume. And that's how
- 9:24you're going to get the PC.
- 9:27You can change it to whatever color you
- 9:28want. I currently have it as yellow
- 9:31because I have a darker background. And
- 9:33then I just enable the imbalances. And I
- 9:36make sure that it's a 400% or 400 Yeah,
- 9:40400% imbalance rate. So that's four
- 9:43times as many buyers or sellers, four
- 9:45times as many sellers than buyers. Now,
- 9:48the last thing I'll go over is I will go
- 9:50over just the indicators that I have. So
- 9:54the first one that I have is the stacked
- 9:56imbalance. So if you go into a toss and
- 10:00you wanted to add an indicator, you
- 10:02would essentially just right click on
- 10:05the chart, go to indicators, you can
- 10:07search up here, stacked imbalance, you
- 10:11would select it. Now once you are in
- 10:13stacked imbalance, this is where I put
- 10:16the same settings. 400 for the imbalance
- 10:19ratio, 10 for the needed volume, and
- 10:22then I change the colors. And line till
- 10:25touch means that this is essentially
- 10:28going to stay here until price runs
- 10:30through it. And then it's no longer
- 10:32going to continue through the rest of
- 10:33the chart just to keep the charts clean.
- 10:36Cuz I only use these once. Once price
- 10:38runs through them, I don't typically use
- 10:39them again. But if you want it to go all
- 10:42the way across the chart, you would just
- 10:43uncheck this box. So then what happens
- 10:45is every single time that there is an
- 10:47imbalance created on either side, it
- 10:50then creates these boxes. So if it's
- 10:52sellers, then it's going to be red. If
- 10:55it's buyers, then it's going to be blue.
- 10:57And you can see them here on my charts,
- 11:02how they are now. And then you can
- 11:04change the colors or you can change the
- 11:06opacity of them or whatever you want to
- 11:08do. And then something else I look at is
- 11:10I have a bar timer here. is very simple
- 11:13and self-explanatory. It's just how much
- 11:16time is left in this actual three minute
- 11:18candle or if I'm on a different chart
- 11:20like a 15minute, it's how much time is
- 11:23left on that candle. I always pay
- 11:25attention to it just because time is
- 11:27important when it comes to trades. I
- 11:30just like to pay attention to it. You
- 11:32don't need it here, but I have it here.
- 11:34If you download my uh template, you're
- 11:36going to have it, too. But you can
- 11:37always delete it if you want. And then
- 11:39you would just change the colors and
- 11:40whatnot inside of the settings. And then
- 11:43the last one that I have, which is
- 11:45important, which a lot of you probably
- 11:48were asking about, is down here at the
- 11:51bottom where I'm showing delta and
- 11:53volume per candle. The way that you
- 11:55would do that is again you would go into
- 11:58the indicators and you would search up
- 12:00something called cluster statistic.
- 12:03When you open up cluster statistic,
- 12:06you're going to have rows. So, if you
- 12:08really wanted to, you can show how many
- 12:11bid, how many ask, you know, the trade
- 12:13count, the session volume, the volume
- 12:15per second, whatever. Um, I only have
- 12:18two of these checked because it's the
- 12:20only ones I care about looking at. And
- 12:22it's delta and volume for the candle.
- 12:25And then when you come down to
- 12:27visualization,
- 12:29this is essentially how you're going to
- 12:31be looking at the colors. So, you if you
- 12:35wanted to make uh like let's say your
- 12:37candlesticks aren't blue and red like
- 12:39mine and they're green and red, then you
- 12:41you could just change the ass color to
- 12:43green. Keep the bid color as red. And
- 12:46then your chart essentially down here
- 12:50when there's more buyers, it's going to
- 12:51be a more vibrant color or more sellers,
- 12:55it's going to be a more vibrant color.
- 12:56If it's more neutral or kind of balanced
- 12:59within the candle where there's not a
- 13:01huge delta difference, then it's going
- 13:03to be kind of low opacity. Um, so like
- 13:07as you can see when down here we were at
- 13:11- 735 for delta, it's a brighter color.
- 13:15Minus 1,000 brighter color. When we're
- 13:17over here at zero, it's essentially
- 13:20blank. It's like uh low opacity. It's
- 13:23dark. It's not very vibrant. And then
- 13:26again when we come up in numbers to -552
- 13:29on the delta for this 3minut candle then
- 13:32it's going to become more vibrant so
- 13:34it's easier to see. And the same goes
- 13:36for volume. So volume is the second
- 13:40statistic I'm looking at. I have it as
- 13:43gray. You can change it to whatever
- 13:44color you want. But the more volume
- 13:47there is, the brighter the gray is going
- 13:50to be. The less volume there is, the
- 13:53less gray there's going to be. It's just
- 13:55another way to kind of visualize what's
- 13:59happening without having to read all
- 14:00these numbers. Choosing the colors is
- 14:04important because you don't always have
- 14:05to read every individual number as it
- 14:08can become a lot when you're trying to
- 14:11trade day trade intraday. Especially if
- 14:14you're like scalping or something or
- 14:16taking quick moves like 15, 20, 25 point
- 14:19moves. You don't want to be reading a
- 14:22bunch of numbers and like trying to over
- 14:24complicate things. So I use a lot of
- 14:26this stuff just as like colors, right?
- 14:29So if I'm looking at this, I can easily
- 14:32see the PC. I can easily see where there
- 14:34were sellers. I could see where buyers
- 14:36started to step in. I don't really have
- 14:38to read the numbers. I can see the
- 14:40clouds where the volume was at. I don't
- 14:42have to read the numbers. If I do care
- 14:44to read the numbers and start looking at
- 14:46the imbalances and how much volume there
- 14:48actually was or how many trades there
- 14:50were, I can do that if I really want to,
- 14:52but I don't need to. So yeah, I mean
- 14:56that's essentially it. So we're
- 14:58currently just looking at the bid and
- 14:59ask. We're looking at volume. We're
- 15:01looking at the PC of the candle. And
- 15:03then we're looking at delta and volume
- 15:05down here below. Couple indicators.
- 15:07Pretty quick video. I just kept getting
- 15:10comments on that last video asking for
- 15:13me to make a video about the settings.
- 15:15So, here it is. It's pretty simple. You
- 15:18can learn more about it if you actually
- 15:19go to Atas's YouTube channel. They're
- 15:22great. They have a lot of educational
- 15:24content on how to actually use their
- 15:26platform. Um, but in case you don't want
- 15:27to do that, you can just copy my
- 15:30template. You can download it in the
- 15:32description below and then just upload
- 15:34it into the templates here in your TOSS
- 15:36platform. And again, if you don't have a
- 15:39toss, you can go ahead and click the
- 15:41link in the description below and you
- 15:43can get a 14-day free trial just to mess
- 15:45around with this. They have a great
- 15:47replay mode. Um, probably the best that
- 15:50I've ever seen. It's real time and you
- 15:53can see all the orders coming in and you
- 15:55can even see previous DOM levels if you
- 15:58trade looking at the DOM. They allow
- 16:00level two playback as well. If you guys
- 16:02have any questions, feel free to ask me
- 16:04in the comment section below. Hopefully
- 16:06this video helped you, especially if you
- 16:08were asking me for my settings in a
- 16:11toss. Here it is. And I will catch you
- 16:14guys next time I make a video. Peace.
